Speaker 1 (00:11):
Quiet luxury is bullshit. I'm gonna tell you why. I
was just in the south of France years ago. I
stayed at Hotel Decap and it's where Sophia Richie got married.
So Sophia Richie had a complete rebrand. It's fascinating to
watch a person have a rebrand. It happens all the time.
But this was very, very quick. It was like a
swan like glow up. Sophia Richie was hanging out with

(00:35):
Scott Disick. They were in a relationship. We heard that
she had a new boyfriend. His father was big in
the music industry, and all of a sudden for her wedding.
Chanelle is in a collaboration with her, and we see
this conversation happening all over social media about quiet luxury.

(00:57):
Wealth is whispered. And she's at the Hotel do Cap,
which is this lavish, expensive hotel that used to only
take cash, and it's in a gorgeous place in the
south of France, in Antibe. It's on this sort of
cliff like rock cliff, overlooking his beautiful water. And it's

(01:21):
a fortune and it's a thing. And I say it's
a thing because when things are first a thing. They're
one thing. Then later years later, when everyone's heard about
them because they're a rich person's thing, then they become
a different thing. So everyone at Sofia Richie's wedding was
mega wealthy and a celebrity, and this quiet luxury thing

(01:44):
is sort of like it's a different version of loud.
It's like, let's whisper very loudly, meaning let's wear muted tones,
and just like these expensive brands like Gwyneth Paltrow did
when she was in court in her six notebook, that
are very loudly, forcefully designed to make you no, not

(02:05):
even think know that these person's rich. But it's all
very intentional. It's like this loud, quiet, intentional fashion statement.
And I find it to be such pretentious bullshit. I'd
almost rather someone be wearing rhinestone and rainbows. It's just
it's another version of big f's and g's and c's,

(02:26):
and it's this contagious aesthetic now that people are getting
nauseated over because it became a thing. So I was
at hotel decap this summer. Ironically, I stayed at a
hotel called Lily of the Valley. No one's heard of it.
It's very upscale. A very famous architect and designer designed it.
I saw Eugene Levy from Shit's Creek shooting his travel

(02:48):
show there. Paul and I were there because we like
going to very nice places, but not that are not
a thing. And the reason I don't like a thing
is because you're gonna run into asshole New Yorkers and
rich new money palm beachers and Long Island show offs,
and that's what's at Hotel do Cap. So we went
there for the day because we checked into a hotel.

(03:11):
We had our Lily of the Valley, stunning, amazing hotel.
You can look at it. I did a thing on
TikTok and Instagram, and we went to another hotel that
we booked last minute because we wanted to be closer
to the airport on the way back, and it wasn't
at the level. So I said, let's go over to
Hotel do Cap. Paul said he wanted to see it
because he'd never seen it. So we went for lunch
and we tried to get a room for that one
night because our hotel wasn't what we expected it to be.

(03:36):
And we went for lunch and ran into five people
that I know and have seen in the Hamptons like rich,
new money, show off, hedge, fun, douchey type people, and
it was just very showy and very gossipy and very
Palm Beach Boca. And that's fine. I go stay in
Palm Beach and Boca and have a fine time. But
it's so expensive and it's so new money, and I

(03:59):
don't mind any of that. Live your life, go have vacation,
show off, drive red Ferraris, be rich. It's okay. The
point is I wouldn't be bringing this up because it's
a stunning hotel and the staff seemed lovely, and the
food was good, and I had, you know, Paul had
one hundred and twenty five dollars lobster roll that had
so much celery and stuff in it filler that it

(04:22):
was unimaginable. And all of this is fine, But it's
not quite luxury, is what I'm saying. Like you go
to Pond Beach and go to the Breakers, it's not
quiet luxury either. It's the most expensive, overpriced hotel room
you've ever stayed at. I imagine the Plaza is probably
like that too. There's a hotel in Kapri called the Quisasana.
It's the thing. There's a place in Sardinia, Colla de Volpe,

(04:44):
it's the thing. They have two other hotels, and their
third Sister and Brother hotel is also a thing, but
not quite as much as the thing there. Don't stay
when you're going away at the status symbol thing if
you don't want it to be overpriced and showy and
very touristy in that way, stay at the thing that's

(05:05):
not the thing. Try that's the gift, to have that
gift of finding the not thing that's still so stunning,
And go visit the thing. Go have a drink at
the thing, Go have one hundred and twenty five dollars
lobster roll at the thing, which I will never survive
because I don't waste, I spend, I don't waste. But
it's not quiet luxury. So Sofia Richie, who had a
beautiful wedding, is a beautiful girl, and I'm sure she's

(05:25):
a wonderful person, and her wedding struck this chord and
it's not quite it's not quitet luxury. It's loud, intentional,
muted luxury. And it's just it's the people are on
TikTok thinking that they're watching and viewing Quiet Luxury because
they don't know because they haven't gone there. I've stayed there,

(05:47):
I've visited there, and I've gone to so many other hotels,
and I know what quiet Luxury is, and that ain't it.
What's going on with Jonah Hill? So what's going on

(06:08):
with Jonah Hill? I don't know. There's an ex of his.
Let me just tell you what I really think, which
is shocking to you, I know. Okay, So Jonah Hill
broke up with a girl who was with for a year.
I think her name is Sarah Brady, and she's coming
out and she's discussing that he emotionally abused her and
she's sharing texts. The Me Too movement changed the world.

(06:29):
I just watched the movie she said about using your voice,
and it changed the world. People all over the world
because of the Me Too movement opened their mouths. So
know that I don't understand every aspect of this. I
just have read some headlines and what people have said
on social media. But this woman, Sarah Brady, is sharing texts,

(06:51):
So if she was abused, and it's something that can
help other people, and it's something that outs someone in
Hollywood that was being abusive, then I think it's useful.
Where is that line? Where is that line? Because are
you not going to share? Are you not going to
text your partner thinking that one day that text could

(07:11):
be public. I'm sure there are texts that I've sent
that if they were shown, I'd seem like a crazy person.
And even and vice versa from Paul to me or
anyone I've ever been in a relationship with. That's a
conversation that I want to discuss because one person will
say it's great that these texts are being shared because
it could help other people, and its emotional abuse and

(07:33):
no one should be protected, and use your voice on
the other side of the coin sharing texts that you
were in a relationship and now you're sharing those texts.
Same thing with the Johnny Depp and Amber heard. It's
also scary, like you're hearing one side of it, and
we all thought that Johnny Depp was the villain until
the court case. So I'm just advising people to just

(07:56):
understand a whole story. And this is how much I
believe that I've met Jonah Hill. I was on the
Tonight Show with Jay Leno and he was the lead
guest and I was the second guest. And he was
a low grade dick. Like he was a low grade dick.
And what I mean by that is like he acted

(08:17):
as if I was beneath him. He did not say
anything outwardly offensive to me. He did not do anything
outwardly offensive to me. He just was very better than
and put upon by me saying hello to him. And
he was a snob. He was up here and I
was down there, and he made me feel belittled, and

(08:39):
he made me feel like the nobody that I actually was.
I could not believe that I was booked on jay Leno. Well. Still,
I will never know how I got booked on there.
I think I've been on there more than once. I
don't know. Maybe the booker liked me, I don't know.
But Jonah Hill was a star, and he was put
upon better than and I felt small. And during that

(09:00):
same rain, I met Ricky Gervais at Ellen. He was
a doll. I met Seth Rogen at Ellen backstage, he
was a doll. I've met everybody up and down this highway.
And Jonahill jumps off the page as someone who was
a low grade dick, but I don't know that every

(09:21):
text he's ever sent to his ex should necessarily be shared.
I don't know enough about it, So you can come
for me. I don't know enough about it. Also, him
saying things about her posing in a bikini on Instagram
and surfing with guys, I don't know what vacuum that's in.
I could tell you this. If I started doing sexy
bikini picks on Instagram, Paul would not enjoy that. If

(09:41):
I started surfing with male friends of mine that were straight,
Paul would not enjoy that. So you can come for
us too. But things are in a vacuum and everybody's
so quick to judge. And Johnny Depp was the villain
in the story with Amber heard all that time till quirking,
then the pendulum SWUNGK. So I just want to say,
I don't know, but something is fucking going on with

(10:02):
Jonah Hill, and it's not that fun for him. Also,
any person who does a movie and then says they're
not gonna outwardly promote it is also not a low
grade dick. Is a high grade dick. You do a movie,
you gotta go promote it. He just has a set
of rules for himself. He doesn't. No one should ever
mention his weight, positively or negatively, like you need a
whole fucking guide book just for Jonah Hill. So I
don't know a thing. I know what I know, and

(10:24):
I know what I said, and that's all that I know.
