Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hello friends, It's mister Jim and welcome back to Kids
Animal Stories. If this is your first time, welcome to
the family. You see, we love critters of all shapes
and sizes, and I hope you do too, because we
need you on our protector team. Well, today's episode is
another mystery adventure. This is where I lay out all

(00:24):
the clues and it's up to you to use your
thinking brains to solve who this critter is. Are you
guys ready for today's adventure? Me too, Let's go. It
was a beautiful day and Selena had just finished her

(00:46):
first week at a new school. You see, her family
had just hitched a ride on a shark and had
it swim all the way over to a small ocean
village off the coast of Greece. Have you have you
ever heard of the country called Greece. It's a beautiful
place and it's even known as the birthplace of the

(01:07):
Olympic Games, you know, like the real Olympics. Did you
watch those a little while ago. Yeah, the Olympics can
be a really fun thing to watch, and they were
first started in the country of Greece. Well, Selena was
just getting used to her very new environment. She wasn't

(01:27):
used to so many different species all in one place.
You see her class there were all kinds of different critters.
There were jellyfish and sharks, pufferfish, eels, man to raisin,
and so many more. They were all getting ready for
their big school talent show, and her classmates seem to

(01:51):
know exactly what their talent was. Jason the jellyfish is
very quiet. He doesn't say very much. He has a
very powerful sting. Have you ever seen a jellyfish at
the beach yet? Don't touch them? They are very stingy.
Oh they're dangerous. And Hector the shark, he just lost

(02:14):
a tooth and is so excited to show his brand
new one coming in already. He's also a very fast swimmer.
Have you ever found a shark tooth at the beach?
Those can be pretty hard to find, but super exciting
to see. Oh in Penelope the puffer fish can really
puff into it like a balloon to protect herself from predators.

(02:39):
It's pretty amazing to watch a pufferfish blow themself up
with air. They look like they're just gonna float off
to space. Our mystery critter friend, Selena is long light
and really enjoys cleaning. She even helped her teacher, Miss Tuna,
clean the windows this past week. But that's not a

(03:01):
cool talent, she thought to herself. You see, for this
talent show, everyone needed to be able to do something cool,
and she felt like all of her friends had something
cool except her. Have you ever felt that way before?
I definitely have. Yeah. Sometimes it can feel like, hmm,
what am I good at? And sometimes the things that

(03:25):
you're really good at doing, it's kind of hard to
remember those because they're so easy for you, because you're
so good at them. Well, Selena wished there was something
spectacular and exciting that she could do. She even just
started day dreaming about the talent she wished she had.
Three two one. In the crowd, sheeered. Selena had just

(03:50):
finished a spectacular race around the swim arena. In the
final few seconds, she erased right past Hector, the Shark,
and a sea turtle about her age. With one final burst,
she reached the finish line. She was the fastest had
won the gold medal as the crowd cheered. She was

(04:14):
so happy to finally be good at something. The four
standing on the podium to receive her medal Selena felt
a tap on her shoulder. Huh, what, who's there? Selena?
It is time to put away your art supplies and
start practicing your math facts, said miss Tuna. No more daydreaming.

(04:36):
Oh I'm so sorry, Miss Tuna. It won't happen again.
She started putting her art supplies away and started pulling
out her math book. It was a rude awakening back
to the reality that she didn't feel like she was
a winner at anything. Still had no idea what her
talent could be. Why couldn't she be a fast swimmer
and beat all the sharks and turtles and races ugh.

(05:01):
After school, Selena swam out the door and was still
very sad about her lack of talent and decided she
was gonna take a different way home. Maybe that would
help her think of something that she was good at.
About halfway through her shortcut on her way home, she
started to wobble and lose her balance. What is happening

(05:24):
to me, said Selena. I'm so dizzy. Whoa, whoa, And
then all of a sudden, the current of the water
just it's changed, and it took her on a different
route and pulled her into the deep blue ocean before
she realized she all of a sudden got stuck onto

(05:48):
the bottom of a boat. I'm stuck and she can't
even detach herself from it. On Selena's head, there is
a sticky part on the top that sucks things sometimes.
And this was not a part of the plan. What
in the world is Selena going to do? She gonna

(06:10):
be able to make it back home safely? And what
about the whole talent thing? And holy smokes, have you
figured out what kind of critter Selena is? Hmm, this
one is a very hard one. Let's think about all
the clues that we talked about. One her family, Remember
they hitched a ride on a shark to a small

(06:33):
village off of the coast of Greece. How in the
world did they get a ride from a shark without
getting eaten? I think there's a lot of fish that
might catch a ride in the shark's belly, but that's
for a different reason. And what else Selena? She's long
and light and what was that thing she was, you know,

(06:54):
stuck on the bottom of a boat. How does that happen?
I know she has some kind of sticky part on
her head that just seems strange that she would get
stuck onto something that she couldn't detach herself from. This
is very strange, and I'm gonna have to keep thinking
really hard, and you're definitely gonna need to put on
your thinking caps because I'm gonna need all the help

(07:16):
of solving this mystery. My friends, We'll have to wait
and see what happens on the next episode of Kids
Animal Stories. Great job you listened all the way to
the end. Those are a lot of very strange clues.

Some kind of sticky fish in the water. Can you
think of a sticky fish that might stick onto a
shark or something? I don't know, but friends, if you
