About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Our first real episodes on the internet were me trying to find a solution to help tell my sons stories as I was traveling for work. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. What started as a fix for our family’s bedtime routine interruption has grown into a worldwide audience with hundreds of thousands of listeners. My wife Jocelyn and I have 3 kids and love inspiring others towards greater imagination and curiosity.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello friends, it's mister Jim and welcome back to kid
Short Stories. Today's story comes to us from Aaron hey Erin.
He sent me an awesome idea for a story, and
you can too. Just head over to kidshort stories dot com.
Send me your idea and maybe you will turn it
into an awesome adventure. And right now smash the follow
buttons so you don't miss out on any are awesome stories.

(00:27):
All right, friends, are you ready for today's adventure? Me too,
Let's go. Aaron had just woken up and stretched and

(00:48):
was getting out of bed because today was Saturday, one
of his favorite days of the week, because that meant
he had more options of what he was a to
do that day. And today he was gonna clean up
his room and catch up on some of the things

(01:08):
that he'd been putting off.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
But he really liked doing. He really liked having a
clean room.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
His clean rooms help you find everything a lot faster,
and it's a lot easier to play when you don't
have everything all laying around.

Speaker 2 (01:21):
And so he was working.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Really hard to put everything away nice and organize and.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Aaron was really good at that. Hey, Aaron, it's time
for breakfast. Come on downstairs. Oh good.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Aaron ran downstairs as fast as he could and gobbled
up his breakfast. Wow, that was delicious, Thank you so much.
Aaron put on his shoes and ran outside.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
It was a pretty nice day.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
It was pretty cloudy, but it wasn't too cold and
it wasn't too warm. He was excited to go outside
for a little bit to take a break from cleaning
his room.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
But then all of a sudden, spike it beeper. You see, I.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Forgot to tell you that Aaron was on the Animal
Rescue Spy Kid team.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
His job was to protect all the animals in his area.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
And when the beeper went off, that man somebody was
in trouble.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
When he ran back to his beeper, he read the
message and it said, erin, we need your help.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
There was a kitten walking around and he's unfortunately gotten
himself very stuck in some sticky mud. And this sticky
mud is very dangerous. So when you're over there and
trying to rescue him, be very careful. We don't want
you to get stuck. Good luck, over and out.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Sticky mud, Aaron shouted. Sticky MUD's like the worst.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
It's it's almost like worse than quicksand because it's so
sticky that it's almost impossible.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
To ever get it off of you. And so what
was it? What was it?

Speaker 1 (03:15):
He had remembered in training that they had talked about
sticky mud and like, if you're able to get out
of it, there was a special plant that he had
to find that was like, the juice is from that
plant he could use to get the sticky.

Speaker 2 (03:30):
Mud off of a creature. And he couldn't remember.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Oh, yeah, it's the leaves off the purple pokey plant. Yeah,
the purple pokey plant. You don't want to touch the
poky parts, but the leaves on the purple poky plant
are really helpful.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
In getting the sticky mud off.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
So he got all his gear and started heading for
the mountain. You see, this creature that had gotten stuck
was a small and this kitty had wandered way too far.
I don't know what in the world she was thinking,
but this little kitty was stuck in the sticky mud
on a mountain, and so he needed to get there

(04:16):
very quickly because if it became nighttime that kitty would
be left all alone up there. Aaron started hiking as
fast as he could, but he had to be extra
careful because the mountain that he was having to go
to was full of all kinds of crazy plants that
would come alive.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Like some of the plants have been known to eat creatures.

Speaker 1 (04:42):
Yeah, some of the plants are so big and they
have these big poky leaf mouths and then they bend
over and I'll.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Gobble you up. So he had to be extra careful.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
But he also had to find the purple pokey plants
with the leaf leaves, and so he was looking around
and he couldn't find any. But oh, oh, there's a
purple pokey plant. As Aaron walked.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Closely, what was that, he heard a sound and hits
one of those chopper plants.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Hurry, run, Aaron ran and dove towards the purple pokey plant,
careful to not get poked by the pokies, and he
grabbed some of the leaves off the purple pokey plant.
But then that scary chomper plant was chomping. He had
to get out of there fast. Aaron put the leaves

(05:41):
in his backpack and carefully crawled away.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
That was a close one. Holy smokes, Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Who all right?

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Well, he continued his exploration up to the mountain, and
he thought he was getting closer and closer, and all
of a sudd and he heard a sound. Oh, I'm
definitely getting closer. You see, Aaron had very good ears.
He could hear a creature from miles away, but this

(06:15):
one sounded very close. As he crept closer and closer,
careful to not disturb any of the plants that might
eat him, he finally found the kitty.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Oh no, all right, well, I'm here to help you.
Don't worry, mew mew.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
As Aaron knelt down and carefully picked the sticky kitty
out of the sticky mud. He used the leaves to
get the mud off of the kitty, and it worked perfectly.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
You see the juice inside of those purple poky leaves.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
They had something magical in them that would get anything
sticky off, even glue, and so the sticky mud was
no problem for that leaf juice. All right, kitty, come
with me, we got to get you home. Aaron picked
up this little kitty and she heard. Do you know

(07:21):
what it means when a kitty purrs? It means she's
very happy. As Aaron walked down the rest of the mountain,
he had an idea.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Ooh, I wonder, kitty, do you have a home?

Speaker 1 (07:37):
And the kitty shook her head. No, perfect, I've always
wanted a kitty. Aaron shouted, all right, kitty, your name
is now Sticky and I want you to come home
with me.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Does that sound fun? And the kitty shook her head yes,
and she was so happy.

Speaker 1 (08:02):
Aaron had saved the day. He saved this little kiddy
from that sticky mud. And now he has a new
friend called Sticky the Kitty. And oh and I need
to finish cleaning my room. You'll be a perfect helper
for me.

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Aaron went home and cleaned up the rest of his
room with his new best friend, Sticky the Kitty.

Speaker 3 (08:30):
The end.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Great job. You listened all the way to the end,
and you know what time it is. It's time for
good shout out. I want to say hey Topavel from
Saint Petersburg, Florida, Jeremy from Michigan, Wyatt from Ohio, Oliver
from Washington, Jannon from Ontario, Robert from Texas, Amelia from
New I am sure, and Hudson and Bo from Canada.

(09:01):
I'm so glad that you're all in the kid Shorts, Stories, family,
an honor spy team. We could not stop Doctor Sinky
Breath and his team without you, my friends. Well you
have a super duper day and I will see you
on our next adventure. Bye.
