Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello friends, it's Mr Jim and welcome back to Kids
Short Stories. Today's story we are going to talk about
one of the three pillars of being on the spy team.
You see, being a spy means that you have to
learn to do a lot of things, but three are
very important. And today we are going to be talking
(00:25):
about the pillar of patience. Do you know what it
means to be patient? Well, that is a very important
pillar of being on the spy team, and Hunter and
Read are about to learn how important it is. Are
you guys ready about an amazing adventure about a magical
(00:46):
seed that is needed to stop a very sticky creature. Yeah,
me too. Let's go all right, Professor, we need you
(01:07):
to steal all the scenes on this least. Oh boy,
that sounds terrific. Well it's a long list, but I
can definitely get it done. Oh no, that was the
voice not only of Doctor Stinky Breath, but another member
of his team, Professors Sticky Fingers. Oh no, Professor Sticky Fingers,
(01:31):
he's one of the most creative worst thieves in the
whole wide world. His sticky fingers allows him to steal
almost anything. What is on that list? What is he
going to steal. Well, let's listen and see what Hunter
and Read are about to stumble into. Hunter and Read,
we're playing in their backyard. They were, you know, having
(01:54):
lots of fun with their imagination. Do you know what
your imagination is? Yeah, it's that thing inside of your
brain that you can maybe close your eyes and imagine
something that might not be real but feels very real
inside your mind, Like, oh, maybe you're inside of a
castle and you're you're guarding it from the evil trolls,
(02:18):
and or or maybe you're an explorer and you're sailing
on a big ship. Well, an imagination can be an
amazing thing for a member of the spy team. Hunter
and Read both and amazing imaginations. Read get down. We
gotta get down. The volcanoes about to erupt, shouted Hunter.
(02:42):
They were in their backyard playing volcano. Have you ever
played volcano before? Oh that's a fun game. Yeah. Well,
when the volcano blows the grass and everything turns to
lava and you have to find a very creative way
to get back to your house, Hunt her and Read
had built an amazing obstacle course that would lead them
(03:03):
over the lava that was about to erupt. Three two one,
there goes, shouted Read. Hunter and Read couldn't believe this
genormous volcano in their backyard that was erupting all this lava.
We gotta get out of here, go go go. Hunter
and Read started to navigate through their course on their backyard,
(03:26):
and then all of a sudden they heard a sound.
Wait time out, Hold on, we gotta pause our adventure,
said Hunter. That was our spy beeper. We gotta go.
Hunter and Read pause their lava adventure and ran inside
to check their spy peeper. Whenever that spy beeper went off,
(03:47):
you just have to stop what you're doing. You gotta
check and see what the messages because HQ could have
a serious emergency for us. As they ran upstairs, I
couldn't believe it. Wait, Hunter, where'd all my stuff go?
Read was looking all over the place, and Hunter ran
to his or into and all of the spy gear
(04:09):
was gone, except the spy beeper, which was underneath their bed.
They clicked the message, and it said Hunter and Read,
this is HQ. We have learned that Professor Sticky Fingers
is on some kind of mission to steal all of
our spy gear for doctor Stinky breath. It is up
(04:30):
to you to save the day. We are sending you
a very important plant in the form of a seed
that you must follow the directions or else there's nothing
that's going to stop the professor from stealing all of
our gear. Good luck, Hunter and Read what their professor
(04:52):
sticky fingers. He's real. I know I've never seen him before,
but I think he's real, said Hunter, because look, all
our spy gear is gone. Hunter and Reid couldn't believe it.
Their jet pack, their binoculars, their net shooter, everything was gone. Well,
(05:13):
Hunter and Read went outside and there it was a
little drone that was flying and it dropped a package
for them. When all the jet packs are missing, they
need to use drones to deliver the packages. All right,
let's open it up, said Reid. Hunter grabbed the box
and popped it open, and inside was this very large seed.
(05:37):
Looked like the seed was bigger than an acorn, maybe
about the size of a really big grape. All right,
let's read the directions. Hunter and Read pulled out a
long piece of paper. WHOA, it has a lot of directions.
It says that we have to follow every step perfectly
or else it's not going to grow. Wait, what in
(05:59):
the war older we trying to grow? Said Reid. Hunter
found another pamphlet in the box that described what was
going on. It said, this is a specially formulated bush
that produces bubble berries. What is a bubble berry? Said Reid?
Hunter kept reading. He said, bubble berries. I guess it
(06:22):
looks like, yeah, right here, they're specially formulated to stop
professor sticky fingers. Oh yeah, it says, these bubbles they
get rid of his stickiness on his fingers, and so
it makes him drop everything that he's stealing, and then
he oh that he can't steal anymore, and then great,
then our spy gear will be safe. All right, So
(06:42):
we have to grow I guess some kind of bubble
berry bush. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Reid was not happy about this.
I didn't join the spy team to grow bushes. I
want to go fight the band guys and go on
an adventure. Why would they give us this boring job?
(07:02):
Read was not impressed, but Hunter put the directions away
and he said, all right, we gotta get to work.
This is the mission that HQ gave us. You gotta
stick it out. Let's go h okay, Hunter and Read
follow the direction step by step. It's said to first
get a large container and some very nice clean dirt. Oh,
(07:24):
there's a nice soft dirt over there. They filled the
container with the dirt and planted the seed three inches deep.
Now this is the hard part, it says Hunter Read.
The next step, it says, this seed requires a lot
of regular watering for its first twenty four hours. It
must be watered every ten minutes, every ten minutes for
(07:48):
the next twenty four hours. But when aren't we ever
gonna sleep? This is impossible, said Read. I know it
seems impossible, but us spies, we never give up, said Hunter.
Hunter and Read started watering the first time and then
set a ten minute timer. You see, this was a
(08:08):
really important mission. The only way to stop Professor Sticky
Fingers was with a magical formulation of bubbles from the
bubble berries. Back at HQ, they were developing a new
way to shoot and launch bubbles, but they needed the
bubble formula from the bubble berry bush. Our Hunter and
(08:31):
Read going to be able to grow this bush in
time before Professor Sticky Fingers steals all of our spike gear.
I don't know, We're gonna have to wait and see
what happens on the next episode the end. Hey, friends,
