About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. I recorded some stories and hoped that by uploading them to a podcast app, my wife and kids could have easy access to listen. Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello friends, It's mister Jim and welcome back to Kid
Short Stories. You have got to make sure that you
are at our live game show happening on Instagram for
Kids Short Stories, so make sure that you follow Kid
Short Stories Instagram. You can find that link down below.
I will be asking trivia questions about Kid Short Stories
and the first one that comments the answer will win
something amazing. February twenty first, one pm Eastern. I will

(00:28):
see you there. Are you guys ready for today's story
from Jack and Lennon? Me too? Let go. It was
a beautiful day as Jack was outside cleaning some of
the telescopes. Yes, you see, Jack worked at a very

(00:52):
secret location that I can't even tell you where it is,
but it has a whole bunch of telescopes because his
job on the spy team is to make sure that
space is safe. Space can be an endless place for
endless mysteries because there is no end to it. So
that's why we use telescopes. Telescopes help kids like Jack

(01:16):
look really really far so that you can still be
on our planet while looking at another Jack. Are you
in there? Shouted Lenin, Hey, Lenin, Yeah, I'm over here.
Come on in. Jack and Lenin are brother and sister,
and they both love to look through the telescopes. You see.

(01:37):
Jack is the one working there, but he also he
loves to have Lenin come visit sometimes. Jack, you have
to tell me. I've always wondered which planet is your
favorite one. You've shown me all of them, which one's
your favorite? Jack didn't even take a second to answer. Oh,
it's definitely Jupiter, said Jack. It's so amazing. It's the

(02:00):
guess planet in our solar system and it has this
really cool red spot on it that it's just it
looks so cool. You have to see it for yourself.
The two of them started walking over to the biggest
telescope of them all. It was not your average telescope
that you might maybe have at home. This one was ginormous.

(02:24):
It even had buttons to push in order to move
like it was way too big for us to move.
It had to be motorized by pushing a button. All right,
now it's in position, said Jack. Just have to lock
in on the coordinates. He grabbed a keyboard and started

(02:46):
typing a whole bunch of numbers that I don't even
know what it was, but I guess it's some kind
of coordinate so that the you know, the telescope knows
exactly where to point, because the sky is pretty and
Jupiter is only in one spot, so you have to
know exactly where to point the telescope. The telescope had

(03:11):
locked into the position. All right, Lenin, take a look.
Lenin hopped into the seat and pressed her eye against
the telescope lens. Huh, oh, wow, there it is, she said.
That is a really cool planet. But I don't see
a red spot anywhere. What are you talking about, said Jack?

(03:32):
It's ginormous. How can you miss it? Let me see.
Lenin leaned back as Jack pressed his eye against the
telescope and his mouth dropped open. What what in the
world where did the red spot go? Shouted Jack. It's gone. Dun, dun, dun.

(03:56):
Could it have like fallen off? Asked Lennon. Oh, that's impossible.
Hold on. Jack raced over to a computer and started
typing away. He was pulling up a report to show
the most recent activity of Jupiter, and as he printed
out all the reports, he couldn't believe it. Look at this,
It is not supposed to spin that fast. Look, Lenin

(04:21):
didn't quite understand what reports she was looking at, but
it was all in red, and red on reports usually
means there's a problem there. Okay. Basically what you need
understand is the Jupiter is supposed to spin it at
a certain speed, but it's like spinning over a thousand

(04:42):
times faster than normal. That can't be possible, except if
there's somebody out there doing it to Jupiter, and that
could have messed up the location of that red spot.
I don't know what else to do, but I have
got to get to space. Do you want to with Lenin?
Couldn't believe it? Yes? Can I please come with that?

(05:05):
Sounds awesome? All right, there's some extra space gear over
there in that closet. We better get going. Let's go.
Jack and Lenin put on all this space gear and
hopped into a rocket ship. You see, since Jack is
on our space squad, it's his job to protect space,
and every once in a while, something crazy happens in

(05:26):
space that he sees through the telescope and he has
to blast off the space to save the day. And
it looks like today is one of those days. Three
two one The rocket blast off, leaving planet Earth on

(05:49):
a NonStop flight to Jupiter. Whoa, this is awesome, shouted
Lenin as she was holding on tight to the armress
on her chair. Yes, I know, but it's gotta go
even faster. We've got to get there now in order
to stop Jupiter from blowing up. If it continues spinning

(06:11):
at that speed, it will surely self destruct. Jack leaned
forward towards the desk, where there was a whole bunch
of buttons. There was one big red button. Hold on tight,
he shouted as he pushed the button. They were both
thrusted back into their seats. Their faces felt like they

(06:34):
were gonna melt off as they were blasting off through
space at a super duper high speed. Before they could
even catch their breath, they had arrived. Holy smokes, look
how fast it's spinning, said Lennon. Jack couldn't believe it.

(06:58):
He was almost speechless. Jupiter was spinning a super super
fast speed, and it was spinning so fast that it's
now not even really like a big ball, like you know,
our planets are. They're big spheres, like a really big
beach ball. And if that ball starts spinning too fast,

(07:21):
it starts getting pulled out from itself, and it turns
not really into a ball but a flat disk, and
then oh no, Jupiter is starting to get squished before
it will explode. Wait a second, Jack, that can't be Jupiter.
Look that planet over there has a big red spot.

(07:41):
Jack turned his head and couldn't believe it. No, no, no, no, no,
no no, that's not Jupiter. That's Saturn. Saturn has those
big flat rings that go all the way around the planet.
But you're right, wait a suckon, It has a big
red spot. Both of their mouths dropped open as they

(08:03):
just could not believe what in the world was going on.
Holy smokes, What in the world kind of mystery have
Jack and Lennon stumbled into? Are they going to be
able to rescue Jupiter before it explodes? I can't imagine
that an exploding planet would be very good for our

(08:24):
solar system. We'll have to wait and see what happens
on the next episode of Kids Short Stories. Great job,
you listened all the way to the end, and you
know what time it is. It's time for could shout out?

(08:45):
I want to say to Akiva from Baltimore, Kai and
Alex from Maryland, Vano and Raffie from California. Elsie and
Oliver from Iowa, some are from the Netherlands, Jack from Texas,
Jack and Charlie from Colorado, and Peter her from Abbosford, British. Glummy,
I'm so glad that you're all in the Kitchen Stories
family and on our spy team. We could not stop
Doctor Stinky Breath and his crew without you, my friends. Well,

(09:08):
I will see you at the Trivia game show live
on kid short Stories Instagram. Have a super duper day. Bye.
