Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hey friends, it's mister Jim and welcome back to kid
Short Stories. Today is a new episode of s Biology Squad,
So make sure right after you here today's part two episode,

help us try and solve this week's Biology Squad mystery. Well, friends,

(00:27):
are you ready to hear part two of Owen, Sadian
Calvin's crazy adventure at the construction site? Me too, Let's go.
As Owen and Calvin stood there watching their sister Sadi
and their dad.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Stuck inside of a ginormous tractor. They didn't know what
to do. Ohin holy what are we gonna do? Said Calvin.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
We gotta find a way to cut off the source
of all that purple slime stuff in those vines. Oh,
I have an idea, said Calvin. He ran back over
to where his spy pack was and looked inside and oh,
there's my binoculars. He pulled him out and put him
up to his eyes. He zoomed in on where that
tractor was and where all the vines were growing up

(01:21):
out of the ground. You see those vines. I don't
think that they're originally supposed to go underground. I bet
they got accidentally buried under all the dirt from all
the construction, and I bet if we can find where
they come from, we'll be able to cut it off.
He zoomed in on the binoculars on those vines and

(01:41):
followed a trail that looked like they were traveling underneath
the dirt back into the forest. All right, let's go
that way. Owen and Calvin ran over around the construction
site to the other side, which is where there was
a forest, and they were hoping to find those purple
vines coming out the other side. Meanwhile, Sadie and her

(02:03):
dad were still locked inside of that tractor that was
under control by those purple vines. Dad, we need to
find a way to like restart this tractor. Is there
any manual in here or do you know how to
do a hard reset? Said Sadie. A hard reset, said
her dad. That's actually a pretty good idea. Yeah, let

(02:26):
me read through the manual real quick and remember how
to do that. Hold on. Her Dad grabbed the manual
and flipped all the way to the back page, which
is where they did the hard reset. Do you know
what a hard reset? Is. It might mean, you know,
you push the buttons and hold them for ten seconds
and then it shuts down and turns back on. Something
like that. Well, that's what they were hoping. Maybe they

(02:49):
would be able to shut down the tractor this way,
which would hopefully give them the control again. Sadie, do
you see that button up on the ceiling. It's bright yellow,
said her dad. Yeah, I see it right here, said Sadie. Okay,
on the count of three, I need you to push
that yellow button at the same time that I disconnect
these purple wires. Are you ready, I'm ready, said Sadie.

(03:14):
All right, one, two, three now, As she pushed the
button and her dad disconnected those purple wires. Instantly, the
tractor started to turn off. Yee yo. Sadie and her
dad started celebrating, but unfortunately it wasn't over. Who turned

(03:45):
it back on? Shouted her dad. All of a sudden,
as soon as the tractor turned off, somehow it turned
back on. They were still not in control. Calvin, We
need you to hell, shouted Sadie. They could see Owen

(04:06):
and Calvin running off into the distance. They didn't know,
but Owen and Calvin were getting closer to solving this
crazy mystery. Calvin look over here. Owen was kicking some
of the dirt aside and saw the purple vines that
were going through the ground all the way to the tractor.
Is that the same ones, said Calvin. I don't know,

(04:29):
but it looks like it. Let's grab some shovels. Owen
ran over to the side of the construction site where
there was a big shed full of shovels. He grabbed
one for himself and one for Calvin. All right, we
gotta cut up that vine as fast as we can.
We got to stop it from bringing all that purple
juice to the tractor. Come on. Their theory was that,

(04:51):
you know, if we're able to cut off the source
of that purple juice, then that vine would die. Then
it would lose control of the tractor. They could finally
get everything back to normal. All right, come on, let's
jump on our shovels. Let's go. Owen and Calvin put
the shovels on top of the vines and started jumping
on it as hard as they could.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Ugh.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Ugh, it's so strong, said Calvin. Come on, we gotta
do it together, said Owen, on the count of three. One, two, three,
b snap. Owen and Calvin jumped in the same time
and snapped the vine. It broke, with ah stinky purple
juice starting to leak out all over the ground. Yes,

(05:35):
we did it, Sadie, try and open the door now.
Just then the tractor came to a screeching stop and
the door unlocked. Sadie and her dad were able to
jump out. Owen, Calvin, how did you do that? Shouted

(05:56):
their dad. Oh, well, come over here, look at this.
Owen and Calvin showed Sadie and their dad about the
purple vines, and they showed that they were able to
cut them, which stopped the purple juice from being able
to control the tractor. Wow, how did you guys think
of this? Said their dad. Well, we just heard from

(06:18):
HQ about this. It happened a couple weeks ago of
these purple vines controlling trees, and I guess there's still
some out there. And if they would have been able
to control the tractors for good, we would have been
in a crazy amount of trouble. Said Calvin. Oh, I'm
so glad you three came to work with me today.
I definitely could not have done this without you, said

(06:41):
their dad. Speaking of work, said Sadie, Uh, what do
we do now? How can we help you work? All
four of them turned around to see the work clock
had rung, which meant the day was over. Oh, I
guess I guess the work days over, said their dad.

(07:03):
And do you know what that means? Right? What does
it mean? Said Owen? It means ice cream time? Wooo Owen, Sadie, Calvin,
and their dad all raced back to their truck for
a delicious treat on the way home. Wow, what a
crazy day. That has never happened to me when I

(07:26):
went with my parents to work. How about you? Have
you ever gone to work with your parents? Well, in
case those purple vines are still out there, I think
we all have got to keep our eyes open and
our shovels ready to chop up those purple vines. Great job, Owen,
Sadie and Calvin. You all saved the day and saved

(07:48):
all those tractors too. The end. Great job listen and
