Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello friends, it's mister Jim and welcome back to Kids
Short Stories. Today's story is our part two of our
Pillars of the Spy Team adventures. Do you remember last
time when Macey burned her finger with a really hot marshmallow. Well, Aida,
she needs to go find some kind of plant to
save the day. I don't know. I hope Ada is

(00:27):
able to make it in time. Are you ready for
part two? Me? Two, let's go. As Aida was running
through the forest as fast as she could. She was
a little worried about her sister Macy. Oh no, I

(00:49):
hope she's gonna be okay. That looked like it hurt
a lot. You gotta find this Alivera plant fast. Yes,
an alvera plant. That is a really cool plant that's
been around for a very very long time. You see alovera.
It's it's a spiky green plant. It has long leaves

(01:11):
that come out from its base, and it looks kind
of spiky. It looks a little scary, but it's very
thick and juicy inside, and inside is a very magical thing,
some kind of gel that helps when you have like
a burn on your skin or some other things. But Ada,
she needed to find this fast in order to help Macy.

(01:35):
Like I said earlier, their forest was full of all
kinds of amazing plants. Plants that were good for eating,
plants that were good for like medicine and helping your body,
and alovera plants. Those are one of those really important
plants that can help save your skin. Ada was searching
all over the forest and she ran everywhere, but there

(01:59):
were there's none around. All of a sudden, she saw
a squirrel in her backyard. And just so you know, Ada,
she knew how to talk to squirrels, and so she asked,
mister squirrel, I really need help. My sister got hurt
and she needs some alivera from that plant. Have you
seen one around or less a half? Just comet, howl,

(02:22):
let's do. The squirrel took off running as fast as
it could, and Ada could barely keep up. I wonder
how squirrels get all of their energy. They always seem
like they have unlimited energy. Maybe they're drinking. Do you
think squirrels drink a lot of coffee? Probably not, well,

(02:43):
maybe this squirrel does. Ada was running as fast as
she could try to keep up the squirrel as he
jumped from tree to tree to tree, all the way
to a part of the forest that Aida had never
been to. As they turned a corner around some bushes,
it all opened up up. Wow, this is amazing. Ada

(03:05):
looked around and there were all kinds of plants that
she'd never seen before. Looked like this was some kind
of secret garden. Yes, this is actual man turtle, but
I will serve with you. Oh great, okay, which one
is the alo era plantlet service? Cirk honey and the
squirrel jumped down and ran and there it was. There

(03:28):
was a ginormous alloplant. It was almost as tall as Aida. Wow,
this is perfect. Ada reached over and grabbed one of
the leaves and snapped part of it off. Its gooey
inside started to leak out a little bit onto her fingers.
It felt kind of like jello and kind of like slime.

(03:51):
But Aida needed to hurry back fast. All right, mister squirrel,
thanks so much for help, but could you actually show
me more of this later? Oh? Absolutely, just come back Whenever.
Ada took off running back to her house, she had
to make it back in time to help Macy. As

(04:13):
she was running through the forest, she could see her
house up ahead. She was getting closer. Macey, I have it,
it's coming. Just hang on, Okay, it hurts. Macey was
still holding her hand waiting for that alivera. Ada raced
over and immediately got to work. She opened up the

(04:36):
alivera leaf. You can kind of peel it open, or
you can squeeze out the goo out the side, and
they carefully helped Macy's burn feel a lot better. Wow,
great job, Ada, said her parents. That was really fast.
We're proud of you. Macy. Are you feeling any better?
Said Ada? Oh yeah, this does help it feel a

(05:00):
lot better. But holy smokes, I just should have waited
until it cooled off, said Macy. Yeah. I know. I'm
excited too, but it's really important that we use self
control and that we wait until it's the right time.
I know, I just wanted it so bad. I didn't
know that it would actually burn my skin, said Macy.

(05:25):
You see that is why a spies we have to
learn self control. Self control is so important as a
spy because we're always making all kinds of decisions of
do we go this way or that way, or do
we follow the spy rules or do we not. All

(05:46):
of our great spies have learned really valuable lessons of
why they need to always use self control. Can you
think of a time when maybe you should have used
self control or when you did use self control? Like
how about you really got upset and you were really mad,

(06:08):
and you wanted to scream as loud as you could,
but you took a deep breath and instead of screaming
at someone, ah, you chose to have control over your
your body and your emotions. Or maybe doctor Stinky Breath
was trying to trick you into eating a lot of

(06:31):
candy and you chose to not do that. That that
is using self control. Those are all really important as
spy team members, and I think Macy has learned that lesson. Unfortunately,
it meant her finger getting a little hurt, but thankfully Ada,

(06:51):
her sister, was able to find that magical alo vero plant. Wow,
I wish I had a forest like theirs in my
backyard that was full of all kinds of really cool plants.
And I definitely learned my liston. I'm gonna definitely use
self control the next time I'm using I'm making some ores,
how about you? Yeah? All right, spies, Well, those are

(07:16):
some of the pillars of being on the Spy Team.
I hope you've learned them all because I need you
on the Spy Team to stop Doctor Stinky Breath, the
Purple Ninjas and Professor Sticky Fingers. I'll see you next time,
my friends. Bye. Great job, you listened all the way

(07:44):
to the end, and you know what Tubb it is.
It's time for good shout out. I want to say
hey to Andrea from Ecuador, Austin and Jonah from the Bahamas,
Teddy from North Carolina, Laura from Oregon, Max Ivy from
South Africa, Hugo from Australia, Theo from Virginia, Hank from Texas,

(08:05):
and Alex from England. I'm so glad that you're all
in the kid Short Stories, family and honors by team.
We could not stop Doctor Stinky Breath without you, my friends.
Well you have a super duper day. I'll see you
next time. Bye.
