About Mr. Jim:

Hi! I'm Jim Jacob, a South Carolina based creator. I started as a podcaster by accident. Speaker 1 (00:04):
Hello friends, it's mister Jim and welcome back to kid
Short Stories. Today's story comes to us from Crosby and Wells.
Hey guys, they sent me an awesome idea for a story,
and you can too. Just head over to kidshort stories
dot com. Send me your idea and maybe we'll turn
it into an awesome adventure. Are you guys ready for

(00:24):
an amazing adventure about a dinosaur on the loose? Me too,
Let's go. Crosby and Wells worked on a super secret island,

(00:45):
an island that was full of dinosaurs. But shh, it's
a secret. These dinosaurs are part of a research program
on the spy Team, and Crosby and Wells are in
trolle charge of them all. They have to see if
dinosaurs are able to be friendly and if they can

(01:08):
be a part of this by team. But so far,
the dinosaurs are not good listeners. I that's not surprising
to me. I don't think dinosaurs are very good at
following directions and being good listeners. Crosby and Wells were
getting really close to figuring this all out. As they
woke up one morning, something terrible happened. Oh good morning, Wells,

(01:36):
oh said Crosby, Wells, where are you Wells? Crosby looked
all over but couldn't see him anywhere. Crosbie shouted, Wells,
where are you? Crosbie, I'm sleeping, said Crosby, as Wells

(01:57):
came running in the room. Cross. You won't believe. Something
terrible happened, Crosby. What's going like? What were you running?
I'm I'm just even waking up. What in the world
is going on? Something terrible happened. You know our t rex.
He's gone, Don dun, dun. A missing t rex. That

(02:22):
is a serious problem. Holy smokes. If we lost a
t rex, what are Crosby and Wells gonna do? All right, Crosby,
we gotta check all the cameras. I'm gonna go see
if any of the other workers saw anything, but just
radio on me on the walkie talkie if you see

(02:43):
anything from the video feed. Wells took off running. He
was gonna go ask around to see if anyone has
seen anything suspicious and to go check the t rex cage.
Crosby went to go check on the screens that had
all the video feed of all the different dinosaurs. There
were a lot of dinosaurs that they've been taken care

(03:04):
of at that island. It was a pretty big job.
But the good thing about dinosaurs on an Island is
that if they escape there, they can't really go anywhere
because like t rexes or velociraptors or alosaurs like, they
can't swim, and so An Island is a perfect place

(03:26):
to have a dinosaur program. All right, it's nothing there.
Oh wait, there's the feet of the t rex. There
it is Crosby opened up the window to look at
the video feed of the t rex. All right, let's
see there. That's where he got out. It's the southwest gate,

(03:47):
the southwest gate. He grabbed the walkie talkie and reached
out to Wells. Wells, are you there? This is Crosby.
I found something important over sh Crosby, this as Wells. Yeah,
what's up? Sh okay? I just saw him go out
the southwest gate. He busted through the door like it

(04:09):
was made of butter. So I think he's really strong,
maybe hungry. I don't know what's going on, but we're
gonna have to come up with a plan to catch him.
But look out on the southwest side over sh Crosby
and Wells had to come up with a plan to
catch this loose t rex. Nobody else in the entire

(04:32):
program knew these dinosaurs as well as Crosby and Wells.
Only they knew that there was one secret bait that
they could use to try and catch this t rex. Hey, Wells,
can you run to the store and go get some
ice cream. I'm gonna get the chocolate. All right, we'll
meet back at the rendezvous point in two minutes. Wait,

(04:55):
what are Crosby and Wells thinking about ice cream chocolate?
What does that have to do with the d regx?
Are they just taking an ice cream break? What in
the world is going on? As Crosby and Wells got
their ingredients of ice cream and chocolate, they met up
at the rendezvous point. This was a special place in

(05:16):
the middle of the island where no one else had
ever been before, which is important because you don't want
to have human smells if you're trying to catch a dinosaur,
because they're gonna know and not go anywhere near the trap.
All right, we gotta make a giant uh right here,
right here. Let's make a huge ice cream sunday right here.

(05:39):
What do dinosaurs like ice cream sundays? I know, I
do do you I like if I'm making an ice
cream Sunday, what would I put on it? Maybe some
chocolate and some candy. What would you put on your
ice cream Sunday? Hmmm? Oh that sounds good, delicious. Well

(06:06):
Crosby and Wells had come up with some kind of
secret recipe of an ice cream Sunday with extra hot fudge.
That's for some reason this t rex loved more than
anything else. As they set up this ginormous ice cream Sunday,
they set the trap around it. There was a big
rope and as soon as the t rex would step

(06:28):
on the rope and start to eat the ice cream Sunday,
it would set the trap and wrap the rope around
the t rex's big bottom feet. That would do the trick.
Crosby and Wells ran and hid in some bushes nearby.
All right, Wells, do you really think this is gonna work? Oh? Yeah,

(06:49):
this is totally gonna work. We've done this one hundred
times with this t rex. He can't refuse the scent
of ice cream Sundays, said Welles. Crosby and Wells waited
for only three minutes. Boom, boom, boom, there he is.

(07:13):
When a t rex walks. You can feel the vibrations
on the ground. It feels like a big drum pounding
on the ground. Boom boom boom. He's getting closer, said Crosby.
Wells had his binoculars out, but he didn't need them.

(07:33):
The t rex was very big and very close. Oh no,
they hope Crosby and Wells are gonna be okay. As
the t rex approached the delicious looking ice cream Sunday
with extra hot fudge, he leaned down to take a
big chomp home perfect, pull the rope. Now, no, no, no, no,

(07:56):
shouted Wells. Crosby pulled the rope, which wrapped around the
t rex's bottom legs. Good woo. Crosby and Wells recaptured
the t rex and the whole island is saved because
of this delicious ice cream Sunday made for a dinosaur. Wow.

(08:21):
Great job, guys. I did not know that dinosaurs loved
ice cream as much as me. Oh man, this is
making me hungry for some ice cream. I don't know
about you, but I think I need a big ice
cream Sunday with some extra hot fudge the end. Great job.

(08:50):
You listened all the way to the end and you
know what time it is. It's time for good shout out.
I want to say hey to Vigo for from Highland Park, Illinois,
Parker and Lulu from Washington, d C. Jackson from Apex,
North Carolina, Alina from England, Haley and Henry from ann Arbor, Michigan,
Gunner and Reese from Seattle, Mika from London, Veto from

(09:14):
Nevada City, California, and Fenna and Opo from Smoking, Washington.
I'm so glad that you're all on the Kids Short
Stories family and on our spy team. We could not
stop Doctor Stinky Breath without you, my friends. Well you
have a super duper day. Bye,
