Welcome back. It's a brand new episode. This is laugh
with Me, a podcast with Jeremy O and I'm your
Hot Jo and Yes, Laugh with Me is a proud
team member of the I Heart Radio crew of podcasts.
(00:39):
You can find us on the very freak iHeart Radio
app there soon. We're not there yet, okay, folks, We're
just we're just so excited. We're not there yet. We're
cleaning you know what, We're cleaning up some contractually obligated things. Okay,
let's just say that on our end. This is on
the Laugh with Me and some of it you're doing,
(01:04):
some of it's my doing. Anyhow, we're cleaning that up.
And then boy, are we storming the halls of iHeartRadio. Oh,
it's gonna be great, very very soon. I tell then. Hey,
it's the end of twenty five. We're wrapping some things up.
We're celebrating the year that was. That's what you do
(01:25):
in November and December, right that way, once you get
to January, you can have a fresh start to the
year and then you just plow for.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
Well.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
This week, we are announcing our twenty twenty five Laugh
with Me podcast Guest of the Year nominations. That's whetting
the twenty twenty five Guests of the Year nominees. Now,
(01:58):
remember last okay, we did this last year, twenty twenty four,
we were very proud to award Guests of the Year
to one Lovetti Vegas. And boy has he gone out
in twenty five and really taken that Guest of the
(02:18):
Year award and parlayed that into something special This year. Okay,
he's been involved in some pretty unique opportunity opportunities. Let's
just say he has just recently performed at his very
first festival. He's about to perform at another one in
(02:38):
Iowa City, Iowa. Okay, that's coming up this weekend. Now,
I love to plug it. I'd love to say, Vetti,
we got you. We're gonna plug the festival that you're
at this weekend. But unfortunately Johnny didn't get this information
(02:59):
for me. Be we went h we went to record. So, uh,
I don't know, tell you, brother, I'd love to be
like I just I just knew off the top of
my head. Oh, it's in Iowa City, So you know
that's the only reason I even I even bring it up, honestly.
(03:20):
But my point is this, Oh, thank you, Johnny. Okay,
so the fella he finally it's the flood Water Comedy Festival. Okay,
it's at the Willow Creek Theater Company and uh now
he's gonna be there three days at Floodwater. So congratulations
to Levetty. My point is, big things can happen. Okay,
(03:42):
when you are the awarded guest of the year from
the Laugh of Me podcast, big things can happen. Levetti
is a prime example of where you could go from here.
I mean, the the sky's bright, put the sunglasses on,
and move forward with your successes. These are these are
(04:05):
very encouraging and very inspiring words. I want these nominees
that I'm about to announce to really really putting their
in their heart, putting their head, put in their mind,
and really think about for twenty twenty six. Now the
work you've put in coming on this podcast, giving us stories, anecdotes,
(04:27):
some of you jokes, some of you pleads for a pardon,
pleads for a parton Johnny, we got people calling in
for prison. Okay, You've all done an excellent job and
this has proven to be not one not only successful
for the pod iheartrading, but has also proven to be
(04:53):
successful for you and what is to come in your future.
Without further ado, Johnny, let's announce the twenty twenty five
Laugh with Me Podcast Guest of the Year nominees. Number one.
Drum roll please, sir, he is Dez Pearson. Now you
(05:16):
know back in July, Okay, back in July when we
had Dez come on for his very first time, I
mean he was He's well. First of all, if you're
not familiar, it does, go back and listen to the
episode it's called Dez Pearson.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
All right.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
He's a very young, upcoming content creator, writer, director. You
gotta go to his YouTube page. Okay, at Dez d
Easy Underscore p It's Pizza Crust Studios. That's where you're
gonna find just a catalog of content and it's hilarious.
It is great writing. He's becoming a insane editor. I mean,
(06:01):
put the check out the work he's doing. Okay, and
he's he's also not just putting in on his own content,
all right. He's working very closely with the Des Moines
Young Artist Theater in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a
part of the SpongeBob musical production that happened at the
end of July and August, and he's actually making his
acting debut here very soon as a part of dim Yet.
(06:22):
So make sure you go back you listen to the episode.
Here's the thing. He came back. He came back for
the one hundredth episode special cameo. We had him and
his father in studio. That was a lot of fun, kids, hilarious.
If you again, if you haven't checked him out, Dez Pierson,
that's what the episode is called. Go back and take
a listen. And here's here's just a small clip of
(06:44):
what we had from Dez.
Speaker 3 (06:45):
All right, So it started when I think it was
like nine or eight, not the actual channel, but basically
I had YouTube on my TV. So I was like, hey, Dad,
could you set up my YouTube channel on my TV?
Because I thought that you could record videos for on TV.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
That's what you thought.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
Yeah, it was gonna happen, Okay.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Like I thought I could just record minecraft and get
a million followers or something. But no, actually, eventually in
August twenty twenty three, I think, basically, my dad helped
me set up my YouTube channel. I got my email
and stuff, and yeah, my first ever upload, I know,
it was a Minecraft video. That's that's originally what I
(07:24):
wanted to do, be a game.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Wanted to be a streamer.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
No, I wanted to be like a gaming channel. That's
that's it.
Speaker 1 (07:30):
But you know the.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Video has only got like eight ten views. You know,
I still don't do very well in views. But you know,
it's it was just Minecraft stuff.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (07:39):
It was purely unedited most of the.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Time, just you playing Minecraft, talking while you're playing Minecraft. Yeah. Yeah,
And is it you know when you're watching like YouTubers
when they're playing, there's the like the dual camera where
there's you a shot on you playing and then there's
the shot like at the screen grab of seeing the game.
Was it that or literally just you and you were
(08:01):
just playing the game.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
I couldn't figure out how to do that. I think
you need like a webcam or something. I mean I
later did figure out how to do that, but I
don't use it very much.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Right, that's not what you're into now.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
Yeah, but yeah, no, it was just me sometimes talking
over the gameplay. You know, if my microphone ever had issues,
I would not fix it. In poster.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
It was.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
It was very amateur, all right.
Speaker 1 (08:26):
And our next nominee is well, Dees, his father, Grant Piercing.
Grant comes on the pod every winter and gives us
our annual Oscar preview. Here's the thing with Grant. Okay,
we've been friends a long time, Grant Night. But here's
the thing with him. Okay, you know, you get to
(08:46):
Oscar season, you know, you roll up to the Academy
Awards and you're like, oh, shoot, man, all these movies
they're up for Best Picture. Oh man, I should have
watched some of them. I should have watched a couple
of them. I mean, I should have watched all of them.
Grant watches all of these movies. Guys, he watches every
single one of the Best Picture nominees. So he is
here to tell you about them, to break them down. Also,
(09:11):
he watches some of the worst of the worst movies
you've ever seen, not just from the year, but just
in general. All right, So he's got a lot of
experience in the movie business. He's actually worked in the
movie business. And Grant is back as a two time
Guest of the Year nominee. Here is a clip of
Grant Pearson.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
Would you carry around an egg in your pocket in
these days?
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Well, shoot, i'd be afraid I get jumped. I know,
that's the problem.
Speaker 5 (09:34):
That's it's crazy times. Yeah, people on their eggs.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
Yeah people, I seriously, it's like having Jordan's like when
Jordan's first came out, you know, like, I don't know
if I did have in my pocket. I assure as
hell wouldn't want to tell anybody.
Speaker 5 (09:47):
No, No, the eggs. You buy them, you put them
in the plastic sack, you put them in a paper sack,
You put them in one of those door dash type bags.
Make sure nobody sees that you have eggs when you're
walking through the parking lot.
Speaker 6 (09:58):
Right.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
It's almost it's kind of scary to even go to
the grocery store now because people will watch you leave
and then wonder if you have eggs. Yeah, and they
just kind of stalk you.
Speaker 5 (10:06):
They come up, they're like, hey, what you got in
that bag? There got any gut? Any eggs? A dozen?
Baker's dozen? Do they come in Baker's dozens?
Speaker 1 (10:14):
They do not, but they sure should.
Speaker 5 (10:17):
They should at this point with the egg prices going on.
Just just one more egg in there, just one little
like straight cart and then a little tip at the end.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
The eggs are so cool now that the cereal companies
are going to start putting one egg in the bottom
of the bag as like a free gift to get
you to buy cereals.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
Yeah, that's perfect.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
And our third dominee this is Eric Larsen. Now, you
guys mostly know Eric as a guy who pops on
the pot quite a bit. Okay, one of my best friends.
He is a giant in the transportation industry. He's a
former Fantasy football champion. In fact, he is a football expert.
(10:55):
But here's the thing. He also took a month long
vacation in there this year and he called in to
tell us all about it, among many other things that
he did helping us out here on the pod. This year,
big year for Eric Larson. Here is a clip from vacation.
Speaker 7 (11:14):
During the summer, you see a lot of fundraisers that
are car washes or maybe you have the cheerleading team
doing a car washer. You have like different you know,
college athletes doing car washes or that kind of stuff.
You know, what do strippers do during the day, what
they just sleep, They get they get ready for the
next day. Like, why don't you open a stripper car
(11:38):
wash where I mean put these girls to work during
the day, get them cleaning up cars. I mean, that's
that's double income. I can't believe nobody's ever thought about that.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
So that's insane.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
You know, I don't know.
Speaker 7 (11:52):
I guess maybe give me your thoughts on the stripper
car wash. You know what, what do you think that
that could be?
Speaker 4 (11:57):
You know what could become of that? But you know
what other.
Speaker 7 (12:02):
Opportunities are there for you know, maybe an underutilized workforce
that you know could pull a double duty. AnyWho, I'll
try to be better. I'll get you another update tomorrow.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
Well, calculator.
Speaker 1 (12:16):
But here's the thing, dude, all right, I'm not like,
I'm not against the stripper car wash. Okay, I just
want to go on the on the record to say
I'm not against the stripper car wash. What I'm questioning
is because it's a theme, and I'm not just to say, oh,
that's the only kind of cars we have the strippers.
Different cool car washes would be awesome, Like themed car washes,
(12:39):
like where's the rock and roll car wash? You know,
where you go in and you get your car wash
and there's flashing lights and loud music. They'd be sweet.
But anyways, back to Eric's point, and it's not he's
been on vacation too long if he's at this point
where he's saying, not only do the strippers need to
come up with a car watch business, but they need
(13:01):
to also do their normal job at night as well,
like they need to work around the clock. Why why
is the workforce out there at such a point now
that Eric's solution is that strippers need to work more,
Why is that the solution? Eric? Oh, Johnny, the count
down is on. Holiday shopping season is officially here. Uncommon

who can get home first. And we're not talking about
to our house like inside the house. I'm talking about

Here's the nominee that when we started the year I
(20:07):
thought would be a thing. This is a Netflix star.
He is a cultural icon, a he is cemented in
pop culture. We received a phone call from prison and
some time with our next nominee, the Tiger King Joe Exotic.
(20:28):
Here's a clip.
Speaker 2 (20:28):
And then on January the twentieth of this year, that
one got denied, so I had to file it again.
So now I've got another one in the US part
in the Attorney's office, and it's it's just a matter
of who he picks and chooses.
Speaker 8 (20:45):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
So then do you have like some champions in Washington,
like anybody who's a fan of yours? And then is
maybe you know, I have.
Speaker 2 (20:55):
A Congresswoman Lorden Bobert that's out there, uh, stomping the
pavement for me. And I've got Congressman and Eric Bruison,
Joe Rogan bea white Matt Gates, I've got, I've got,
I got some of the biggest names there is, you know,
(21:17):
out there shooting for this. But do you know, you
know how Trump is. He'll do what he wants when
he wants.
Speaker 1 (21:23):
Oh. Absolutely, But you've got his favorites. I mean, you've
got the folks that's got his ear.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Yeah, and and the people that have been, you know,
telling me that it's coming are direct friends of Donald Junior.
Speaker 1 (21:38):
So okay, yeah, I don't know if you remember the
movie Beatle Juice, but I know Lauren Bolbert's a big
fan of Beetlejuice. Oh yeah, yeah, you have to if
you ever can't get an opportunity to talk to her,
ask her about Beatle Juice. Okay, Now, before we get
to our next nominee, I just want to point out
Joe is actually calling back into the pod. He is
(21:58):
going to be on Live with Me next week, so
make sure to tune in for that. All Right, our
final nominee for Guest of the Year. Okay, he actually
this episode, and this was fairly recent that we had
him on the pod. It was the end of September,
and it has actually been one of our most listened
(22:19):
to episodes of the year. The stories coming out of
his time living at the place called Park Shitty. I mean,
that's just that's what they called it, this two level
apartment in a Council Bluffs, Iowa. We had. That's just
one of the many, many, many stories. Hey, we've actually
so one of our friends, he Cody, He actually texted
(22:44):
Bob and I sometime after the pod came out with
some fact checks and some bonus stories. So Cody, we're
gonna go ahead and need to get all of that
on record and get you on here. You can hear
this episode titled Nathan Bob Roberts. This is my good
friend Bob Roberts, our final nominee for Guests of the Year.
(23:08):
Here's a clip of Bob.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
Like a few years ago, I saw the complex was
for sale, like the entire complex because it had been
foreclosed on.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
Yeah, no surprise.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
I'm like, we should buy it and host the draft there.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
That would be great.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
It could be the draft venue.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
That was a great top ten. I do want to
point out I've never seen this before. You had asked
for a notebook so you could have your top ten.
Speaker 8 (23:33):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
You literally wrote on the notebook the numbers one through
ten and that's it. So you were you were checking
off going down the list each one you were doing.
But most people would have a little note of what
is at four? What is that three? Not Bob, No,
you just have the numbers one through ten, just to
(23:56):
keep you on track.
Speaker 4 (23:57):
That's right, that's it.
Speaker 6 (23:58):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
That's incredible.
Speaker 4 (24:01):
I've never seen the like it. I always feel like
I do my best work without prep for anything. There
you go. That's so maybe I'll show up to Michael
and ask a pe with no prep, nojeez.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
And there you have it. That is our twenty twenty
five Laugh with Me Podcast. Guest of the Year, nominees.
Speaker 8 (24:26):
Stepping to the spotlight. The crowds all here, nominees gathered,
the moment is near. Does Pearson's charmed lights up the world?
(24:49):
Grand Pearson's wit a comedic boom?
Speaker 1 (24:57):
Who's it gonna be?
Speaker 2 (25:00):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (25:00):
The Tension?
Speaker 6 (25:01):
So Tired?
Speaker 8 (25:05):
Laugh with Me Podcast?
Speaker 6 (25:08):
The Brightest Tonight, Guest of the Year, Who's gonna claim
the throne? Guest of the Year, Who's.
Speaker 8 (25:18):
Stealing the show? Does Brand?
Speaker 6 (25:20):
Eric, Joe or Boby will cheer? This is the time
for Guest of the.
Speaker 8 (25:37):
Eric Larsen's stories. They twist and they turn Joe Exotics chaos.
It makes the mic burn.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
Bob Roberts with wisdom that cuts like a knight.
Speaker 8 (26:00):
Each one's a spark in the podcast to his life.
Speaker 6 (26:08):
The crowd holds its breath as the drawn road begins.
Only one name the envelope spins Guest of the Who's
going to claim the throne? Guest of the here, who's
(26:29):
stealing the show?
Speaker 8 (26:30):
Just Brand?
Speaker 6 (26:31):
Eric, Joe or Bob? Who cheer? This is the time
for guests of the.
Speaker 8 (26:55):
Crowd holds its breath as the trum because only one
name the envelope spends.
Speaker 6 (27:09):
Guest of the year. Who's gone to claim the throne?
Guest of the year, who's stealing the show?
Speaker 8 (27:18):
Does grant?
Speaker 6 (27:18):
Eric Joe or Bob Will cheers? This is the time
for
Speaker 1 (27:24):
Guests of the
