with my boy tamer At, Tamer, Magic, Tamer, Caffiti, tam
or the Hammer. There's so many different nicknames that I
call you, most of which that I can't really say
on the show. Basically, Tamer is like my best friend.
I've known him forever since what seventh grade and one

of the few people I talked to every single day.
He's a magician, very talented, very smart individual, and look
out for him. He's doing some pretty cool things that
are going to be coming to Fruition soon with the
whole magic scene. So there you go. There's your little intro.
That's probably the nicest thing I've ever said to you.
Thank you. Yeah, what's up everyone, Yeah, it's Tamer, as

easy Buss have just said. Also Tim too. He called
me that, So I have a lot of nicknames. Oh shoot,
sorry that I yeah, I see, that's just so subconscious.
Yeah I know. Um, yeah, I went by Timmy when
we were kids and now I'm Tamer. Yeah, they're we go. Yeah,
well Tammer is your real name, but in middle school
people couldn't pronounce it right, So you so you just

went by Timmy. Yeah, they would just say a tamer
or Tamir. Yeah, so I was like, yo, it's it's
pronounced timmy. Yeah. So so yeah, it's funny because only
like your o G like close friends call you Timmy.
Still yeah, whenever I hear the name Timmy, I kind
of looked like, wait, high school, like middle school, elementary school.
But now you go by Tamar, and it's still weird
(01:27):
for me. I can't call you Tamar. I will call
you Tamara on the show today, but in general, it's
still very strange to me. So give us an idea
of how like you started with the whole magic thing,
because obviously that's like something that's extremely unique, like it's
not every day that you meet a magician or someone
who like it's a member of the castle, you know. Yeah,
so yeah, I started about a week ago and I
(01:48):
was like, yeah, like I just hit the Bobby Schmurder
reference right there. But now, so I started magic when
I was like, what was thirteen years ago? So I'm
twenty three now, so that makes me ten years old. Um, yeah,
I started at that time. I was on a plane
and there was an old man who was sitting next
to me, and who did he did a coin trick
(02:09):
to me. I don't know if he was a magician
or he was a hobbyist or I don't know, but
he did a trick to me. He made the coin disappear.
He made it reappear out of the plane window. And uh,
when I saw that, because I could see on the
other side of the window, I didn't see the coin
go through. And so that's what I really thought was
like the magic moment that really sparked my interest. And
(02:31):
then you know, over time, I I just kind of
had more encounters with magicians or just the magic world
in general. There was a person at the church I
used to go to who would kind of teach me
a trick or two just to see where I would
take it, if I would actually practice it, or I
would just kind of drop it after a week, like
(02:51):
a high percentage of people do, because everyone gets magic
kids when they're young, or a lot of people do,
or they have look on YouTube or something that they
get into it for the most part, but they get
out of it really quick. And the trick is to
stay in it long enough so you could see kind
of the fruit of the labor, because the first few
years you're not gonna, you know, be that great. You
(03:13):
gotta really you gotta fail, you gotta go out there.
So I you know, I met that guy on the
plane he did the coin trick. I kind of started
and started with kids. I stole my brother's magic kit
and you know, so he could have been a magician,
but I took it from him. Yeah. From there, Uh
and then was it two thousand and ten, so that
(03:35):
was ten years ago. I auditioned to be a part
of the Magic Castle's junior program, and so that's when
I was like twelve years old, twelve or thirteen, and
so I got in after the second time. I didn't
get it on the first time, so I had a
re audition six months later, got in on the second time.
I've been a member since, and you know, occasionally I'll
perform at the Castle and it's just a really good

area to meet uh, coolman aitian see cool magic, meet
cool people, bring people. You know, you've been there, so
it's super dope. Yeah. So yeah, and then they got
the castle and now you know, just kind of grinding
and doing magic, that's what's up. So it's funny because
you said the first couple of years, you're not gonna
(04:17):
be that great. You're still not not that great, not
that a little bit better than not that great. But
it's an upward you know, And I'm just exponentially. I'm
just you just gotta it's it's a skill. It's a skill.
And didn't you have to like acquire your medicalorians through
the Magic Council in order to be where you are today? Yeah,
(04:38):
I don't really know what a medic lorian is, but
that was a Star Wars reference. If you got that, Like,
you're a real o g Okay, but yeah, I like
Iron Man, I don't watch Okay, well huh, I slowly
I'm going to demote you from the best friend position.
But so, because I remember growing up in middle school,
you always were like doing magic tricks and I thought

it was like I was like, I was like what
the hell, Like what is this? You know? But I
thought it was so cool watching the street performers in
Vegas like that was like the first real encounter I
had with like a magician, and I never really like
understood how anything was done. Now I kind of hanging
out with you and I get some of the things,
but there's only only some. Yeah, but but you don't
(05:21):
tell me anything, even though I try to pry it
out of you. But like sometimes it's like, okay, cool,
like some simple tricks, like you can pick up on
it if you've seen it enough, you know what I mean.
But but there's certain ship that's like literally what the fuck?
You know, Like some of the stuff that you were
showing me last night, I was like, I was like, dude,
so you're working with the magician right now? That kind
(05:42):
of has those like WTF moments? Right, Yeah, he has
a he has a pretty big following, and he's just
kind of amassed a big crowd and a big audience
over the years. It's been great. I've been learning a
lot about like show production and everything. I've learned some
of the stuff, and like school I go to in Vegas,
like a magic school and like Hogwarts, but like now
(06:06):
I get to see it put in action whenever, like
we go and do shows, and I think it's really
cool that. You know, that's a whole another side of magic,
the show production. That's a side of theater that a
lot of people maybe don't think of to get into.
But it's a really cool thing to at least explore. Yeah,
that's awesome. So what do you think it's kind of
(06:26):
like your next step to maybe get yourself to that
platform that that the person you're working with we can't
name him, the man who shall not be named again.
Another Harry Potter reference is that like a boltemort reference.
I'm pretty sure I read I read that when I
was a kid, So I don't really remember. But would
your goal be to kind of like do the same
thing that that person is doing or or is it
(06:48):
kind of like do you want to do more street
performing rather than I don't know, I mean, like, are
you trying to like follow in his footsteps or is
it more so? Um? So I just want to learn
the ropes and kind of see what you're good at,
see what you like. Yeah, that's that's exactly. I want
to learn the rope, see what I'm good at, learn
how to build a better show. What I do know
(07:08):
for sure is that I want magic to be a
part of my life. Um and I just want to
get better and better at it. And uh, just being
exposed to professionals and the industry and having good teachers
and everything helps me do that. And so yeah, I
just try to keep advancing and uh, wherever the wind
takes me, you know, just keep trying to set high
(07:31):
goals along the path and it just kind of builds,
it builds to something greater that I don't exactly have
planned out, but yeah, that's my technique. I mean, it's
been really cool for me to kind of like see
you progress and you know, and get better and better
at magic. And I feel like recently you've kind of
like went full force on like magic, like you kind
(07:54):
of started practicing like newer things that are like the
w TF moments? Right, So what do you think the
most important thing in magic? But what to you is
more interesting like when you see someone before actually know,
it's kind of hard for you to judge that, I
guess because you are a magician. But are you like,
oh my god, like that like a skill is a
crazy or are you looking for like, oh my god,
(08:16):
like what like how like what do I look at
when I see Yeah, like what what what entertains you more?
The skill? Or like the w TF factor? Well, the
WTF factor definitely when I was younger, just like, oh,
how was the trick done? Because that's kind of the
first question a lot of people ask, but now you know,
when you get into magic for such a long time
(08:37):
and you learn um a lot of techniques and a
lot of methods, and you're just around the community and
you just kind of start to pick up on the
methods and how things are done, you kind of look
for something else when you perform. When you watch performers,
for example, like you'll be looking at their showmanship and
how well they execute the moves, even though you know
(08:59):
how to do it, how they do it, like how
well do they do it? How well do they interact
with the audience, how well do they recover from mess
ups or um. Yeah, And because that really goes to
show that shows you how good a performer is, not
when they do it right, but when they don't do
it right and how they recover. So that's kind of
(09:20):
like a big defining moment of like how good a
performer is. So for you, it's it's more interesting to
actually see the skill behind it right, even if you
don't know how they did it. For you, it's like
oh wow, like that's crazy, how he just tripped but
he made the show or whatever, because it happens. I mean,
you're human, you know, things happen, especially especially in live entertainment.
(09:43):
So it's funny because I've seen you pretend to mess up, right,
That's a technique that I do. I um, and it's
funny and it's great. Yeah, it's kind of like I
guess my style is a little bit of putting someone
in like a roller coaster of emotions maybe like I
mess up, and so that kind of don't think highly
of my magic. But then I completely contradict that, like
(10:04):
maybe ten twenty seconds later and get them with the trick.
And that just that transition from really low to really
high is I think what I like about my style,
and I think that's what maybe other people like about
the style too. Well, let's talk about one encounter that
I saw firsthand, which was cool when you did a
(10:24):
meta tric for Gary V. Right, just to like set
up the story and exactly what happened. We went to
New York for Sneaker New York. I brought all my boys.
When when was that? What year was that was two years?
Or three years? That was two thousand and seventeen, I
want to say, so it's going on three I was
about to be right, Yeah, yeah, so that's when um,
(10:46):
because I turned twenty one in two thousand eighteen and
I wasn't twenty one, so yeah, it's for sure, but um,
it wasn't. It wasn't. It was Yeah. So in December,
we went to New York City, brought all the boys.
It was fun. We had a great trip and Gary
(11:09):
V was following me for a while and he was like, oh, hey,
next time you come to New York, hit me up.
Let's let's have a meeting. And I was like, okay, cool.
So we went to New York and I hit him
up and he said, a cool, cool, come by the office.
That's have a meeting. So I was like all right,
cool first and foremost. That was like one of the
most intense, crazy like meetings I've ever had in my
entire life. I felt that I love Gary V. Like
(11:34):
I love Gary V. I think he's amazing, like honestly
awesome guy. I think he really tells people what they
need to hear, which is something that you know, I
enjoyed doing myself. Um but uh so, anyway, we had
a meeting, was great, went great, and I brought like
all my boys would be into the office too. I
was like, fuck it, right, I'm surprised to let that happen.
(11:56):
But yeah, but you know, he's he's a cool guy.
He's not like a super corporate like shooting tie, like
the only one person could come in. Right. That was great.
It was great. Shout out to all the boys that
were there. Yeah, shout out to Dylan for being ballsy
enough to ask a question Dylan. So yeah, Dylan's For
the people who don't know, Dylan's a friend of mine,
from a friend of ours, from our middle from from
(12:19):
my high school. I didn't need it. You didn't go
to school with him, didn't you know? I met him.
I met him through you, right, Okay, Yeah, so yeah
I met Dylan in high school and uh yeah, I
loved it. He's a character, the things he said. And yeah,
in the meeting, he asked Gary a random question at
the very end, Yeah, like, hey, shoot your shot. You know,
(12:39):
I love the I love that, you know, he like
said something that was great and it was cool. How
after you were able to do a magic trick for
Gary and was filmed, which was cool, right by like
five cameras in the room. I mean he Gary himself
has like two people or three people filming. And then
you were filming or if other people and then Blake
(13:02):
was filming to Blake win when yeah, Dress went on YouTube.
Yeah so in that moment like how did how did
you feel when I? Oh so, yeah, so you're nervous.
Well so I really the story to paint the picture
even more that so yeah, easy, but us I had
a meeting with Gary. We were sitting in and you know,
they were talking. They did everything, and right when that
(13:24):
meeting ended. Well it was funny because during the meeting
I was kind of in the back corner, hiding behind
all all the boys, you know, like with my cards,
like okay, which trick they all want to do, Like
I want to see, like what I could do to
what what is he not seen? You know, because you
know a lot of people try to do content to
him and a lot of magicians do as well. So yeah,
(13:46):
I was in the bag preparing and after you you
were finished talking, I jumped out Gary, I'm like Gary,
like can I show you a magic trick? And then
he goes on this huge brand of how you know,
how he's seen everything in the book and like now
or like a week prior, his brain cemented to like
(14:08):
knowing all magic and he was so confident and he
that he knew everything and and so I was the
first magician to perform to him since he cemented that
in his brain and how he like figured it all out,
and so I was pretty stressful. So I was doing
the trick to him with him, you know, beginning the trick,
talking for five minutes about how he knows that I'm
(14:31):
about to do, like talking about how he's like you know,
buddies of David Blaine, which I believe, but like, yeah,
it's just funny. And so yeah, even during the trick,
I was just like I was so nervous doing the trick,
but um, I didn't know. But what I was doing.
If you guys look at the video, it's it's on
his channel. Just type in Gary V Magic Trick and

if you throw my name in there, it will pop up.
During the video you could see me just like I
was just like checking the cards during the trick, just
because I wanted to make sure I was doing this right.
Usually I never do that. And I was just really
nervous because it was a really high pressure situation. Do
you think up until that point that was the most
nervous you've ever been performing I think so that and
(15:15):
then maybe in competitions magic competitions. But yeah, that was
a pretty like crazy thing, especially when like he was like, oh,
I haven't figured out before I started. I'm like, okay,
you can hear the line. I was like, Okay, we're
just gonna have some fun. That's what I said, just like,
you know whatever, let's have fun and let's do a trick. Well,
(15:36):
it was It was funny because he's like, I know
exactly what you're going to do in the next five minutes.
You know, magic is kind of like what I do
in business is what I do in my life. I
just trick people. And he didn't say that exactly, but
it was. It was funny. It's like, no, it's like
he was saying, like in my life, I make people
think I'm doing one thing when I'm doing something else.
That was it. Yeah, what I just said, it's completely different.
(15:59):
So but because that's not what he does. But I
remember hearing that and in my head I was just
standing there like fuck. I was like, I was like, dude,
I was lookey. I was about to be like yo, Tim,
like maybe just sit this way. But it was even
better that way because of the of like how it
(16:20):
went down, you know. Yeah, I mean because all the
viewers or everyone you know who eventually viewed Gary's video
and whatever, we're probably on his side, like, okay, yeah,
I'm on team Gary. You know, he's you know, he's
the guy and the he's the head Han show. In
the situation this magic, He's gonna screw this magician over,
and so you try to do that. At the end
(16:41):
of my trick, he's like, I know exactly what that
card is under the water bottle, and he said what
the card was, and he flipped it over and it
was not that card, you know, and all the other
cards that were laid down were just completely different and
they all match that card that he didn't even know
it was coming. And yeah, the trick is kind of long.
Funny about the video is that you hear him more
(17:01):
talking and you don't really see the trick. Yeah, And
there's a lot of comments on the video like, oh,
you can't even see the trick. What happened? I'm sure
it was a good trick, but I couldn't see it. Yeah.
The reaction was great, right, Yeah, because it was so
funny the whole time is yeah, I do exactly I
knew exactly was here and it was great and like
that that's the beauty of magic, Like the misdirection. So
(17:23):
they think they're doing they think it's one thing, but
it's something else. But obviously no, no, it's all magic.
You Matt, you know you sprinkled the magic dust on
the But no, that dude, that was like priceless. Like
I've never seen a reaction like that from from like
from him or from I mean ship, like from anyone
that I've seen you do. I've seen pretty crazy reactions,
(17:44):
but a reaction like that, I was like, wow, Like
that's crazy because I went from I went from fuck
fuck you know, but it was like that that was
really really cool. And like Tama was saying, basically, he
assumed it was gonna be aces underneath, but it ended
up being with kings Kings. Yeah. Yeah. So the fact
(18:06):
that he was able to pull off a trick and
make it a completely different card than what he he
thought it was because he thought he figured out the
trick made it that much more crazy. And but it's
really funny because even at the beginning of the trick,
I was like, Okay, Gary, and I feel like this
is just Gary kind of being in his Gary. Yeah,
Gary being Gary, you know, with his contradictions and everything.
(18:29):
But I don't know if he was like thinking about
the trick a lot or just kind of like trying
to follow my movements. But at the beginning of the trick,
I'm like, Okay, Gary, you're gonna pick a card, You're
not gonna look at it, and I'm gonna try to
pull every card out that relates to it and then
at the end will make you know the reveal. And
so when he was like, I know exactly what that
card is, I kind of already told him at the
(18:52):
beginning what it would be. But but I but I
spun it. You know, you have to watch the video
just kind of see. But regardless of was a really
cool will experience, you know, being in New York, being
in his office. Damn, that guy runs at like a
million miles of second dude, Like he said, he sat
down with me for like twenty minutes, don't asking the question,
and then you did the magic trick and he was out.
(19:15):
I'm out, like yeah, and he's like, oh, thank you guys,
Sorry guys, I gotta go yeah later. Yeah, And that
was that was that was really cool. His workflow is crazy. Yeah,
I mean, dude, you've had some pretty interesting experiences with
like some like celebs. Yeah, I mean y G moment
that was crazy. Yes, shout out to shout out to
Eric for making that happen. But but yeah, dude, So yeah,
(19:38):
I'll set this up. Basically, we were at the YG
album released party. Um, it was August fourth, I still
remember that. And when was that two thousand? It was
two years ago, right after I got my surgery, which
was in two thousand, summer of seventeen. Yeah, your face
was like still kind of your face was still kind
of like puffed up. Yeah, it was small, and I
(19:59):
had I had off surgeries. I got my top just
sliced and repositioned and yeah yeah yeah just and and
then you were wearing those pants from Zap two. Was
the most loud sweatpants ever. Supreme. We're gonna talk about
tamar is a fashion sense in a little bit. But yes,
(20:20):
but let's talk about that. So you were doing a
magic trick for y G. YG was lit right because
he he just he like basically performed his whole album
for us. Right. This is the State Dangerous album. State
Dangerous and then I mean he was drinking, like he
was obviously a little like, you know, on the lit
side in that sense, and you started doing magic for
(20:41):
him and yeah, and I didn't expect, like, you know
what happened. Yeah, I mean, I'll tell you all what happened.
So I was planning on doing like one or two tricks,
because usually when I do magic to like celebrities or whatever,
it's it's quick. You know, they don't have a lot
of time. But HyG was like, keep going and keep going.
I'm like, oh, what it's like this I was trying
to do. I did like four tricks. Oh yeah, that's right.
(21:02):
It was a lot um. I hosted a clip of it,
a clip of it on on my Insta and I
think it's on YouTube. Complex posted it. I think it
was a fire trick or something like that. I make
his card appear and it was a cool reaction, and
you know, you know, y G was like, you know,
his reaction was pretty cool. But um, what a lot
(21:23):
of people don't know is that in the middle, like
of that whole segment of performing it, it it was like
a sixteen minute performance. Yeah, you were, you were up
there for him. It was when I look at the video,
I'm like, wow, sixteen minutes. That's a long time. But yeah,
So there was a there was a trick. I think
it was you that was like, Yo, do the money trick.
I'm like, really, I don't remember. I think it was
(21:44):
and like and the fact that you said it, I
was like, okay, well I can't say no. So I
said it while you were yeah, because he was like,
I'll do another one, and You're like, yeah, I do
the money one. I'm like, oh no, but okay, fine,
I'll do it. Oh yeah, I mean I was. I
was doing a trick and usually I wouldn't do it
when you're surrounded three sixty degrees like I was. But
(22:07):
I was like, whatever, I'll do it. I'll try it.
And that's the whole thing we were talking about the
very beginning of this talk that you know you trial
and air, you know you gotta test, you gotta fail sometimes,
and uh so yeah I did. I did this trick.
And the y G and his his team completely just
like grilled me on it, like they kind of knew
(22:28):
how it worked, and they made a big deal about it,
not a small deal. Yeah, we we got you, We
got you. Yeah, so the video of that will be
coming out I don't know in the future, so look
out for that. That's that's a video I want to
use as like a like maybe like when I'm bigger
in magic, and maybe I do like a talk and
people because I got a question a lot like do
(22:49):
you ever mess up? And how do you recover? That's
like the main video I'm gonna use to just talk
about that and because it happens, and well, you didn't
really mess up, No I didn't, but I know I
didn't mess it up. But in a way I messed
it up only because I allowed them to figure it
out just based on the situation. I don't know. Like
(23:10):
if if you do a trick that's in the wrong angles,
like you know, you know your angles are really hard,
and you still do the trick, I think that's the
mess up. Making the decision to do the trick is
the mess up, not the actual like, oh I messed
up the trick. I didn't mess that up, but the
decision I made to do it under the settings and
(23:30):
situation that was a mess up. But it's fine because
you learned from it. And that's a huge thing about magic.
It's not just doing the trick. It's about reading your audience,
reading all the people and reading like knowing your angles,
knowing what works, knowing what doesn't work, and that's where
you know, like, that's where the experience and magic comes in.
A lot of people say, oh, like, how long would
(23:51):
it take me to learn that card trick? And I
tell them, oh, I just tell them the amount of
years have been doing magic. I'm like, oh, it'll take
you thirteen years. And they're like, what what do you mean.
I'm like, well, learning the actual card trick will take
you maybe, like I don't know, a few days, weeks, months,
I don't know, depending on your skill. But learning how
to implement the trick under situation, under all situations that
(24:14):
you're given, and learning what how to maybe change your
technique based on you know, your surroundings. That's what takes
thirteen years of experience, or for me because I've been
doing it for thirteen that's what takes that long to build.
You gotta know what and what not to do under
your conditions. Of course, you learn that by experience. You've
got to get out there. You can't learn that at
(24:35):
your home. You can't learn that in front of a mirror.
You've got to learn that in the real world. No, absolutely,
and dude, and that was a great lesson. I mean, dude,
Like that was crazy to me when they were literally
trying so hard to like they didn't even they didn't
even care about the trick. They were just staring at you,
I know, you know. And one of my favorite parts
(24:57):
was actually, um, when I think you did like the
trick where you made his card up here and then
he threw it on the floor and he started stepping
on it to figure out right, I was like, oh god, like,
I mean, yeah, yeah he was. And then he was
taking the card. He was just questioning me on everything
I was saying. I'm trying to give him basic constructions
like yeah, I dude, just like snap your fingers or
(25:20):
wave your hand over and he's like, but why do
I gotta wave? Can I step on it? Like I'm like, well, okay,
step on it. Yeah, And then he was rubbing the
card on the ground and like he literally burned a
hole through the card and burned his finger and that
was funny. Yeah, that video is not out, but yeah,
maybe I'll put that clip outs and that that's funny. Yeah, absolutely,
it's really interesting because I've you handled that very well,
(25:43):
Like I told that's like because I don't know how
I would react in like a situation like that, so
like and obviously that is the the thirteen years that
because if you just started yesterday or a week ago,
like he said, maybe some kid would cry. I don't know, man,
like you just walk away and just look down to
case like sorry, no great. But at the end, like
he was cool, like I think the whole thing was
(26:05):
just a good experience. No ill will, No, not at all.
I mean, at the end of the day, it's it's
magic and sometimes it happens, but you know, you just
keep it going. And yeah, segue to a little fashion
because of what you were wearing that night. You're wearing
those a supreme I forgot what those are called, but
definitely not what I was expecting you to wear. Ever. Well, yeah,
(26:26):
because I was just wearing shorts from Ross. And then
we were with that to Steven Legendary have we with him?
And I was like, okay, wait, I gotta change in
the like better clothing to where and he's like, oh,
you can wear my pants? Okay, what do they look like?
And they're just like I don't even know what do
(26:47):
they called, Like, is there like a name for them?
There there is, I just can't remember the exact name,
but I means and it wasn't a skeleton. It was
um like bones on them, like it's not it's it's uh,
it's I can't remember what it was called. I have
the picture. It's so funny, but um. But yeah, So
(27:09):
it's interesting because like a lot of people would probably
assume that, like all my good friends are all like
hype beasts and like into this kind of stuff, because
I mean, like people like Hies for example, like all
his homies grown up, like they're all like sneaker heads
and like flipping Supreme and stuff like that. I'd be
flipping cards cars. Yeah, I mean, dude, like basically none
(27:31):
of my friends are into it. Yeah, none of my friends, right,
I guess you have like influence like we wear like
you know I have. I have a pair of Jordan's
yeah finally, well, yeah, I mean I definitely feel like
I've rubbed off on my friends a little bit in
that sense. It's just like a little touch touch ups
and like, oh here's that his style something that Yeah, yeah,
(27:53):
because it kind of like where we grew up, it
was not the most fashion forward place like it is

and like sneakers coming from a person who's like not
really super into it and that I haven't wait, hold on,
hold on, before you keep going, I'm gonna cut you off.
So me and tamer we had lunch and I had
the trap scott As Bees in the back of my car.
I had I had two pairs, like and they were
early in like a week early, and I was like, oh, yeah,
do you want to see like the latest and greatest,
like the hottest shoes right now. He's like, yeah, yeah, sure,

And I showed it to him and he's like, what
what do you say? You're like, dude, these are ugly?
Like why are they the blue ones? They're the ones
with the bandana print on them. The blue ones there's
like navy blue, but they're like tan with like white laces.
He doesn't he doesn't even remember. I didn't remember it,
but dude, you were literally these are ugly, Like I thought,

we thought that's how the same parents ross the other day. Yeah,
but where's that navs? The nav line? I heard your
boyfriend took you shopping Ross. But yeah, it's funny because
I kind of like that about you in the sense
that like you don't care at all about this ship,
and it's it's funny because I respected, but I just don't.

I don't, like, you know, I'm not about the whole world,
but I think it's cool to be around it, and
like I always like to have different, you know, experiences,
and I think it's really cool just to yeah, you know,
I mean, you can respect it, but were you being here?
Do you actually not know what those Jordan's I got
you were? I read the tag ones but you do

know the silhouette of the Jordan, like the number you
don't know, a dude, this is literally the easiest one.
Everybody knows this one. Dude. Do you know how many

said that. At the beginning. I was like that Jordan's ones,

thank you. But yeah, it's interesting and I feel like
now you've kind of changed your style a little bit.
I do get a lot of free clothes that I

hand to you, hand me down, easy bust to hand
me downs? Do you enjoy those? So good? But yeah,
it's it's interesting and like because I think people might
have like a different picture of my friends because of Kais,
because of how his all his boys are. Like, it's
funny that how we met. It was a long time ago.

We were in seventh grade. Yeah, we were young seventh
graders And how how did we click? What was like
the click? I think it might have been like what
were we just like I don't know, I don't even remember.
I think it was, you know, we were in class
and I don't know, we just because you were sitting
behind me, and so we just started talking to each other.
Is that is that really? How? Yeah, I don't even remember.

That was such a long time ago. Yeah, so yeah
it was. And from there, Yeah, we became good friends.
I remember I had my braces on I first went
to when I first went to your house. It just
hurts to eat the pasta at your house. My mom's
pasta is it's good, It's good. That's why it started
(31:51):
with Wow, I've had racest for so long. I X wow.
I definitely had some interesting encounters hanging out with you.
One time, I remember I came to your house for
like one of the first times, and your dad walked
out in his underwear, right, that was interesting to me.
He didn't know you were there. Well, I mean, I
don't think he cared because he stood there. He didn't
even say, oh, let me go put a shirt on.
(32:13):
He just stood there like scratching his belly, and I
was like, Hey, what's up, what's your name? Like, dude,
that dude, that was that was great. But yeah, I mean, dude,
like we've been friends ever since, and it's it's interesting
that we don't we have I feel like the reason
why we've we've stayed friends and like why I still
have the friends that I do is because of the
mindset that you know, we've had. Like it was always
(32:33):
about working smarter, not harder. You know, it was always
about finding a way to beat the system and be different,
find a way to like achieve your goals in an
unorthodox way that's better. You know. I think it's so
great that you're still doing magic and like it still. Yeah,
I love it. I think it's a it's a cool

it's just so cool and the world is really cool too,
I mean, and as I see it, I see everyone
has their own whatever hobby you have, there's a world
to it. So if you're sailing, if you if you
like boats and stuff, there's a whole world. There's teams
that you can join whatever, and then you know, you
got your hype, you know, supreme all that, all the
(33:14):
sneaker world, which I think is so cool. Um, even
though like I'm not avidly involved in it, I think
it's cool to experience it and see, I think it's
really you'll get value out of seeing every type of
world and um, go to random conventions and there's something
to learn, and I think it's cool. I like learning. Well, yeah,
I mean you you've been with me to so many
(33:36):
different sneaker cons. Yeah, and you're doing like magic tricks
for like you know, all the YouTubers. And then like
even though at my table, like you'd help me sell
Murder Treacher is the funny. Yeah, take a card put
under the T shirt and if the car changes into
your card, the T shirt is meant for you. So
it turns out what you're doing. And sometimes I did that, Like,
(33:57):
look like these shirts, they're not just regular shirts. Their magic. Sure,
let me show you what I mean. Take a card
and then you know, we'll put it here and look
because of their shirt, it's now this car. That's funny. Yeah.
And so they're like, oh, I have to buy a
magic Yeah, and they go home and they try to
do it again, like this guy scammed me. That's funny.
(34:17):
That just makes perfect. It's interesting because you and Patrick
are probably the ones who are down to travel the most. Yeah.
Patrick's another one of our buddies, which are you Guys
are like both like oh go here, okay, cool down
besides Cleveland anywhere. But now, especially since you're done with
school and all that, like we can start going to
(34:37):
more like it, would you be open to start learning
how to do some magic trees with like sneakers and
mentioned something. I mean, yeah, So there's different types of magic,
and one of the types is like mental is in
magic and magic kind of the mind, mind reading or
like predicting the future, predicting results, whatever. And the greatest
that's what I'm trying to get into more now. And
(34:58):
the greatest part about that is that it could be
applied to so many different things. Um, you can apply
it to I don't know, corporate gigs that you're doing.
You can apply it to you know, the sneaker world.
You can predict what shoe they're gonna be picking, you know,
and like you can make it a whole trick and
it's so cool and so yeah, yeah, so I'm I'm
(35:18):
looking forward to and I'm just trying to think and
of different new innovative ways to present magic in the
sneaker world. As as far as I know, there's no
sneaker magicians. You No, there isn't. I remember I think
one of your first Instagrams that we started was like
at sneaker magicians, you know, yeah, this is the one
easy for us to start. I'm like, oh, we should
do magic with sneakers. But I think it was just like,
(35:39):
like I just I was just doing magic in general,
and like if I could do it with stuff like
sneaker related or whatever related, great, But I don't know,
I don't know why we didn't keep it. Yeah, I mean, dude,
we could always try it again. You could always revitalize it.
But it's cool because, um, I think I think I

saw David Blaine wearing Jordan's one time. I don't know. Yeah,
maybe you noticed that. I just noticed the cards in
his hand. Yeah, sneaker has to make shoe contact, you
make a card to contact exactly. And there was also
this really cool magician for all you guys at home
that I came across on Netflix. That's really great. His
name is Justin Willman. It's just about magic for humans.
(36:21):
He did a show in Flight Club. He's actually he's
the one I'm helping out. Yeah, Justin is really cool.
I mean, there's a few magicians. I mean, the cool
thing about the magic community is that you can talk
to a lot of magicians and it's like they kind
of all try to help you or guide you, and
justin a few other magicians are like super nice guys
(36:41):
and they're they're cool, like yeah, knowledgeable, two they're good. Dude,
look at the show. It's amazing. To say the show,
it's amazing, and like it's it's cool because I dude,
I got hooked on the first season. I watched all
all the episodes like one day Magic for Humans for
Humans on Netflix, and then I watched the second season.
I didn't I didn't even know, Like I didn't get it,
(37:01):
didn't get recommended to me until way later, but I
ended up binging that one too, like literally one set
down And one of the episodes was in flight Club,
which is, uh, you know what flight club is? Yeah,
it's a sneaker. It's like one of the o G
sneaker resale Coo Simons there, yes, more or less. Um

So when I watched that, I was like, I was like,
holy shit. I was like, Tim, and you need to
fucking hit this guy. It's funny because he was doing
a thing about fake sneakers. That would have been cool
to see you kind of involved in that. You know,
Yeah it was funny because I watched that and I
was like, damn, how did because I don't want to
(37:45):
this is gonna sound arrogant. No, no, I don't. I
don't even not arrogant, but like I was like, damn,
Like this would have been really cool, Like if I
had known about this and if I could get involved
in somehow, like it would have been amazing. You know, yeah,
I don't know. Yeah, I mean if I was if
I knew that I was wanted to do a trick
with spotting, because yeah, his trick was essentially like you know,
he was using a laser pointer the spot off the
(38:08):
shoe is fake or real, and then it turns into
like some block of ice or just some really cool stuff.
You guys should watch the show. Um, But like if
I knew I was going to do a trick like that,
I would talk to the community be like yo, like
who's is there anyone involved in this kind of thing?
Like yeah, no, he just actually executed the idea. Well,
you know, dude, it was great. It was cool. It
(38:29):
was so cool at the track, such a dope trick
and like when I watched that, in my head, I
was like how like that was the WTF moment. I
was like, dude, what And then I was like, dude,
I have to reach out to this guy if he
because he said he likes sneakers on the show. So
I reached out to him. Like he actually dent me
back within like an hour, and I was like, I
was like, holy shi it, this is so cool, you know,
and he followed me and I was just talking to
(38:51):
him for a little bit. Really seems like a really
nice guy and like, from what you've told me, he's
really cool. That's a lot of cool thing. Yeah, it's
it's a cool thing about the Magic community is that
they're like open. They're really open, and like they'll like
respond to emails like if they're getting bombarded, maybe they
might miss it, but they're like, if you need guidance
or help, that's kind of want to connect, then it's
(39:14):
not impossible. And and that's the thing. It's like, and
that's one thing that I really respect about the Magic
community because it's so tight knit because sneakers are tightening it.
But it's all like dick measuring contest, Like you know,
everybody's so like, oh you don't have these hot sucks.
I have them like you know, and and that's one
thing that I don't like about the sneaker community because
(39:35):
that's that's a lot and just like a lot of
there's so many o G s in the sneaker community
that I have so much respect for, but they have
little to absolutely zero respect for me or any of
the newer guys. And I get it, like sneakers were
not what they used to be twenty years ago or
even five years ago. Ship, but things are changing and
(39:58):
sneakers are a lot more mainstream now and instead of
like like I want to pay respects to the o
G so I'd rather like I would love to have
one of the guys who talk about me on the
show and talk to him and like, bro, like like
I have mad respect for you, and things are changing,
and it's okay, you know what I mean. But it's like, um,
(40:21):
it's interesting because the secret community there's don't get me wrong,
there's so many nice people in the secret community. There's
so many nice people and that are down to help
you out and down to like be a part of
like your project. There are magicians are a lot that
that there are. I've come across a few, and thankfully
it's only been a few doing magic with their ten
(40:42):
years and going through these conventions, and yeah, I've come
across a view. Not a lot though, um, but yeah,
it's always cool. It's I think. I think I'm just
in general, good practice is to be a good human
being and people will like you. You know, even if
you can't see the direct like like Ben I fit
from it, maybe there might not be a benefit you
get out of it. It's just benefit to yourself. You
(41:04):
know that you're a good person. Yeah, of course so,
And I think that's good. And I feel like because
you said, like most people in the magic community are
so open to want to help you, and there's a
few bad apples. I feel like in sneakers it's I
don't want to say it's flipped, but it's definitely like
there's a lot of bad apples, you know what I mean.
And I always talk about how like it's important for
(41:26):
everyone to kind of come together and like because we're
part of the same community, we love the same stuff.
You know, it's different because the sneaker is fashion. It's
the fashion world, and you know that's I feel like
the fashion world is always about you know, the latest
thing or the trends or what's going on, what they're wearing,
what he's wearing or whatever. You kind of don't want
to be like everyone else, right, right, you got to
(41:48):
stand out in a way. But in Magic, it's just
it's more of like an art form, you know, it's
kind of like a craft. Well if you if you think,
if you think about it, they they're both art forms,
you know, because Shian is an art form in itself.
That's how you express yourself, and so it's magic in
a way. It's interesting because fashion is much like the
magic is like fashion in the sense like in a way,
(42:12):
you going out in public wearing a certain outfit is
kind of a performance, but not I would say it's
the art of maybe putting your outfits together and kind
of making it work and making it work, making it presenting,
maybe coming up with a new style that don't isn't seen,
or like a new combination that clicks. Yeah, now that
(42:33):
I think of it, Yeah, that is kind of like
it's a visual art form, you know. Yeah. And I
feel like with Magic two in a way, it's like
there's certain trends, like when I go on Instagram and
I see magicians, I feel like I've see the same tricks,
like the same, and then I see one guy do
some crazy ship and then everybody kind of follows suit
and no pun intended. People in the magic community are
so open and so like helping and stuff like that.
(42:54):
But the Sneakers, it's like you didn't get it. You
couldn't get them reach out cool, like I don't need
you or like you know what, I I don't know.
But don't get me wrong. There's like great people. I mean,
they know who they are. But yeah, it's interesting, it's interesting.
The world of magic and Sneaker is yeah, different but
kind of the same in a way. Yeah, I mean
we can make him intertwined. That's it. Yeah, So hopefully
(43:17):
stay on the lookout. Hopefully we'll get to Sneaker magician
popping again. Yeah yeah, yeah, but it's pretty much Tamara.

I've known him forever since what seventh grade and one

me that, So I have a lot of nicknames. Oh shoot,
sorry that I yeah, I see, that's just so subconscious.
Yeah I know. Um, yeah, I went by Timmy when
we were kids and now I'm Tamer. Yeah, they're we go. Yeah,
well Tammer is your real name, but in middle school
people couldn't pronounce it right, So you so you just

went by Timmy. Yeah, they would just say a tamer
or Tamir. Yeah, so I was like, yo, it's it's
pronounced timmy. Yeah. So so yeah, it's funny because only
like your o G like close friends call you Timmy.
Still yeah, whenever I hear the name Timmy, I kind
of looked like, wait, high school, like middle school, elementary school.
But now you go by Tamar, and it's still weird
(01:27):
for me. I can't call you Tamar. I will call
you Tamara on the show today, but in general, it's
still very strange to me. So give us an idea
of how like you started with the whole magic thing,
because obviously that's like something that's extremely unique, like it's
not every day that you meet a magician or someone
who like it's a member of the castle, you know. Yeah,
so yeah, I started about a week ago and I
(01:48):
was like, yeah, like I just hit the Bobby Schmurder
reference right there. But now, so I started magic when
I was like, what was thirteen years ago? So I'm
twenty three now, so that makes me ten years old. Um, yeah,
I started at that time. I was on a plane
and there was an old man who was sitting next
to me, and who did he did a coin trick
(02:09):
to me. I don't know if he was a magician
or he was a hobbyist or I don't know, but
he did a trick to me. He made the coin disappear.
He made it reappear out of the plane window. And uh,
when I saw that, because I could see on the
other side of the window, I didn't see the coin
go through. And so that's what I really thought was
like the magic moment that really sparked my interest. And
(02:31):
then you know, over time, I I just kind of
had more encounters with magicians or just the magic world
in general. There was a person at the church I
used to go to who would kind of teach me
a trick or two just to see where I would
take it, if I would actually practice it, or I
would just kind of drop it after a week, like
(02:51):
a high percentage of people do, because everyone gets magic
kids when they're young, or a lot of people do,
or they have look on YouTube or something that they
get into it for the most part, but they get
out of it really quick. And the trick is to
stay in it long enough so you could see kind
of the fruit of the labor, because the first few
years you're not gonna, you know, be that great. You
(03:13):
gotta really you gotta fail, you gotta go out there.
So I you know, I met that guy on the
plane he did the coin trick. I kind of started
and started with kids. I stole my brother's magic kit
and you know, so he could have been a magician,
but I took it from him. Yeah. From there, Uh
and then was it two thousand and ten, so that
(03:35):
was ten years ago. I auditioned to be a part
of the Magic Castle's junior program, and so that's when
I was like twelve years old, twelve or thirteen, and
so I got in after the second time. I didn't
get it on the first time, so I had a
re audition six months later, got in on the second time.
I've been a member since, and you know, occasionally I'll
perform at the Castle and it's just a really good
(03:57):
area to meet uh, coolman aitian see cool magic, meet
cool people, bring people. You know, you've been there, so
it's super dope. Yeah. So yeah, and then they got
the castle and now you know, just kind of grinding
and doing magic, that's what's up. So it's funny because
you said the first couple of years, you're not gonna
(04:17):
be that great. You're still not not that great, not
that a little bit better than not that great. But
it's an upward you know, And I'm just exponentially. I'm
just you just gotta it's it's a skill. It's a skill.
And didn't you have to like acquire your medicalorians through
the Magic Council in order to be where you are today? Yeah,
(04:38):
I don't really know what a medic lorian is, but
that was a Star Wars reference. If you got that, Like,
you're a real o g Okay, but yeah, I like
Iron Man, I don't watch Okay, well huh, I slowly
I'm going to demote you from the best friend position.
But so, because I remember growing up in middle school,
you always were like doing magic tricks and I thought
(05:01):
it was like I was like, I was like what
the hell, Like what is this? You know? But I
thought it was so cool watching the street performers in
Vegas like that was like the first real encounter I
had with like a magician, and I never really like
understood how anything was done. Now I kind of hanging
out with you and I get some of the things,
but there's only only some. Yeah, but but you don't
(05:21):
tell me anything, even though I try to pry it
out of you. But like sometimes it's like, okay, cool,
like some simple tricks, like you can pick up on
it if you've seen it enough, you know what I mean.
But but there's certain ship that's like literally what the fuck?
You know, Like some of the stuff that you were
showing me last night, I was like, I was like, dude,
so you're working with the magician right now? That kind
(05:42):
of has those like WTF moments? Right, Yeah, he has
a he has a pretty big following, and he's just
kind of amassed a big crowd and a big audience
over the years. It's been great. I've been learning a
lot about like show production and everything. I've learned some
of the stuff, and like school I go to in Vegas,
like a magic school and like Hogwarts, but like now
(06:06):
I get to see it put in action whenever, like
we go and do shows, and I think it's really
cool that. You know, that's a whole another side of magic,
the show production. That's a side of theater that a
lot of people maybe don't think of to get into.
But it's a really cool thing to at least explore. Yeah,
that's awesome. So what do you think it's kind of
(06:26):
like your next step to maybe get yourself to that
platform that that the person you're working with we can't
name him, the man who shall not be named again.
Another Harry Potter reference is that like a boltemort reference.
I'm pretty sure I read I read that when I
was a kid, So I don't really remember. But would
your goal be to kind of like do the same
thing that that person is doing or or is it
(06:48):
kind of like do you want to do more street
performing rather than I don't know, I mean, like, are
you trying to like follow in his footsteps or is
it more so? Um? So I just want to learn
the ropes and kind of see what you're good at,
see what you like. Yeah, that's that's exactly. I want
to learn the rope, see what I'm good at, learn
how to build a better show. What I do know
(07:08):
for sure is that I want magic to be a
part of my life. Um and I just want to
get better and better at it. And uh, just being
exposed to professionals and the industry and having good teachers
and everything helps me do that. And so yeah, I
just try to keep advancing and uh, wherever the wind
takes me, you know, just keep trying to set high
(07:31):
goals along the path and it just kind of builds,
it builds to something greater that I don't exactly have
planned out, but yeah, that's my technique. I mean, it's
been really cool for me to kind of like see
you progress and you know, and get better and better
at magic. And I feel like recently you've kind of
like went full force on like magic, like you kind
(07:54):
of started practicing like newer things that are like the
w TF moments? Right, So what do you think the
most important thing in magic? But what to you is
more interesting like when you see someone before actually know,
it's kind of hard for you to judge that, I
guess because you are a magician. But are you like,
oh my god, like that like a skill is a
crazy or are you looking for like, oh my god,
(08:16):
like what like how like what do I look at
when I see Yeah, like what what what entertains you more?
The skill? Or like the w TF factor? Well, the
WTF factor definitely when I was younger, just like, oh,
how was the trick done? Because that's kind of the
first question a lot of people ask, but now you know,
when you get into magic for such a long time
(08:37):
and you learn um a lot of techniques and a
lot of methods, and you're just around the community and
you just kind of start to pick up on the
methods and how things are done, you kind of look
for something else when you perform. When you watch performers,
for example, like you'll be looking at their showmanship and
how well they execute the moves, even though you know
(08:59):
how to do it, how they do it, like how
well do they do it? How well do they interact
with the audience, how well do they recover from mess
ups or um. Yeah, And because that really goes to
show that shows you how good a performer is, not
when they do it right, but when they don't do
it right and how they recover. So that's kind of
(09:20):
like a big defining moment of like how good a
performer is. So for you, it's it's more interesting to
actually see the skill behind it right, even if you
don't know how they did it. For you, it's like
oh wow, like that's crazy, how he just tripped but
he made the show or whatever, because it happens. I mean,
you're human, you know, things happen, especially especially in live entertainment.
(09:43):
So it's funny because I've seen you pretend to mess up, right,
That's a technique that I do. I um, and it's
funny and it's great. Yeah, it's kind of like I
guess my style is a little bit of putting someone
in like a roller coaster of emotions maybe like I
mess up, and so that kind of don't think highly
of my magic. But then I completely contradict that, like
(10:04):
maybe ten twenty seconds later and get them with the trick.
And that just that transition from really low to really
high is I think what I like about my style,
and I think that's what maybe other people like about
the style too. Well, let's talk about one encounter that
I saw firsthand, which was cool when you did a
(10:24):
meta tric for Gary V. Right, just to like set
up the story and exactly what happened. We went to
New York for Sneaker New York. I brought all my boys.
When when was that? What year was that was two years?
Or three years? That was two thousand and seventeen, I
want to say, so it's going on three I was
about to be right, Yeah, yeah, so that's when um,

because I turned twenty one in two thousand eighteen and
I wasn't twenty one, so yeah, it's for sure, but um,
it wasn't. It wasn't. It was Yeah. So in December,
we went to New York City, brought all the boys.
It was fun. We had a great trip and Gary

V was following me for a while and he was like, oh, hey,
next time you come to New York, hit me up.
Let's let's have a meeting. And I was like, okay, cool.
So we went to New York and I hit him
up and he said, a cool, cool, come by the office.
That's have a meeting. So I was like all right,
cool first and foremost. That was like one of the
most intense, crazy like meetings I've ever had in my
entire life. I felt that I love Gary V. Like
(11:34):
I love Gary V. I think he's amazing, like honestly
awesome guy. I think he really tells people what they
need to hear, which is something that you know, I
enjoyed doing myself. Um but uh so, anyway, we had
a meeting, was great, went great, and I brought like
all my boys would be into the office too. I
was like, fuck it, right, I'm surprised to let that happen.

But yeah, but you know, he's he's a cool guy.
He's not like a super corporate like shooting tie, like
the only one person could come in. Right. That was great.
It was great. Shout out to all the boys that
were there. Yeah, shout out to Dylan for being ballsy
enough to ask a question Dylan. So yeah, Dylan's For
the people who don't know, Dylan's a friend of mine,
from a friend of ours, from our middle from from

my high school. I didn't need it. You didn't go
to school with him, didn't you know? I met him.
I met him through you, right, Okay, Yeah, so yeah
I met Dylan in high school and uh yeah, I
loved it. He's a character, the things he said. And yeah,
in the meeting, he asked Gary a random question at
the very end, Yeah, like, hey, shoot your shot. You know,

I love the I love that, you know, he like
said something that was great and it was cool. How
after you were able to do a magic trick for
Gary and was filmed, which was cool, right by like
five cameras in the room. I mean he Gary himself
has like two people or three people filming. And then
you were filming or if other people and then Blake

was filming to Blake win when yeah, Dress went on YouTube.
Yeah so in that moment like how did how did
you feel when I? Oh so, yeah, so you're nervous.
Well so I really the story to paint the picture
even more that so yeah, easy, but us I had
a meeting with Gary. We were sitting in and you know,
they were talking. They did everything, and right when that

meeting ended. Well it was funny because during the meeting
I was kind of in the back corner, hiding behind
all all the boys, you know, like with my cards,
like okay, which trick they all want to do, Like
I want to see, like what I could do to
what what is he not seen? You know, because you
know a lot of people try to do content to
him and a lot of magicians do as well. So yeah,
(13:46):
I was in the bag preparing and after you you
were finished talking, I jumped out Gary, I'm like Gary,
like can I show you a magic trick? And then
he goes on this huge brand of how you know,
how he's seen everything in the book and like now
or like a week prior, his brain cemented to like
(14:08):
knowing all magic and he was so confident and he
that he knew everything and and so I was the
first magician to perform to him since he cemented that
in his brain and how he like figured it all out,
and so I was pretty stressful. So I was doing
the trick to him with him, you know, beginning the trick,
talking for five minutes about how he knows that I'm
(14:31):
about to do, like talking about how he's like you know,
buddies of David Blaine, which I believe, but like, yeah,
it's just funny. And so yeah, even during the trick,
I was just like I was so nervous doing the trick,
but um, I didn't know. But what I was doing.

During the video you could see me just like I
was just like checking the cards during the trick, just
because I wanted to make sure I was doing this right.
Usually I never do that. And I was just really
nervous because it was a really high pressure situation. Do
you think up until that point that was the most
nervous you've ever been performing I think so that and

then maybe in competitions magic competitions. But yeah, that was
a pretty like crazy thing, especially when like he was like, oh,
I haven't figured out before I started. I'm like, okay,
you can hear the line. I was like, Okay, we're
just gonna have some fun. That's what I said, just like,
you know whatever, let's have fun and let's do a trick. Well,
(15:36):
it was It was funny because he's like, I know
exactly what you're going to do in the next five minutes.
You know, magic is kind of like what I do
in business is what I do in my life. I
just trick people. And he didn't say that exactly, but
it was. It was funny. It's like, no, it's like
he was saying, like in my life, I make people
think I'm doing one thing when I'm doing something else.
That was it. Yeah, what I just said, it's completely different.
(15:59):
So but because that's not what he does. But I
remember hearing that and in my head I was just
standing there like fuck. I was like, I was like, dude,
I was lookey. I was about to be like yo, Tim,
like maybe just sit this way. But it was even
better that way because of the of like how it
(16:20):
went down, you know. Yeah, I mean because all the
viewers or everyone you know who eventually viewed Gary's video
and whatever, we're probably on his side, like, okay, yeah,
I'm on team Gary. You know, he's you know, he's
the guy and the he's the head Han show. In
the situation this magic, He's gonna screw this magician over,
and so you try to do that. At the end
(16:41):
of my trick, he's like, I know exactly what that
card is under the water bottle, and he said what
the card was, and he flipped it over and it
was not that card, you know, and all the other
cards that were laid down were just completely different and
they all match that card that he didn't even know
it was coming. And yeah, the trick is kind of long.
Funny about the video is that you hear him more
(17:01):
talking and you don't really see the trick. Yeah, And
there's a lot of comments on the video like, oh,
you can't even see the trick. What happened? I'm sure
it was a good trick, but I couldn't see it. Yeah.
The reaction was great, right, Yeah, because it was so
funny the whole time is yeah, I do exactly I
knew exactly was here and it was great and like
that that's the beauty of magic, Like the misdirection. So

they think they're doing they think it's one thing, but
it's something else. But obviously no, no, it's all magic.
You Matt, you know you sprinkled the magic dust on
the But no, that dude, that was like priceless. Like
I've never seen a reaction like that from from like
from him or from I mean ship, like from anyone
that I've seen you do. I've seen pretty crazy reactions,

but a reaction like that, I was like, wow, Like
that's crazy because I went from I went from fuck
fuck you know, but it was like that that was
really really cool. And like Tama was saying, basically, he
assumed it was gonna be aces underneath, but it ended
up being with kings Kings. Yeah. Yeah. So the fact

that he was able to pull off a trick and
make it a completely different card than what he he
thought it was because he thought he figured out the
trick made it that much more crazy. And but it's
really funny because even at the beginning of the trick,
I was like, Okay, Gary, and I feel like this
is just Gary kind of being in his Gary. Yeah,
Gary being Gary, you know, with his contradictions and everything.

But I don't know if he was like thinking about
the trick a lot or just kind of like trying
to follow my movements. But at the beginning of the trick,
I'm like, Okay, Gary, you're gonna pick a card, You're
not gonna look at it, and I'm gonna try to
pull every card out that relates to it and then
at the end will make you know the reveal. And
so when he was like, I know exactly what that
card is, I kind of already told him at the
(18:52):
beginning what it would be. But but I but I
spun it. You know, you have to watch the video
just kind of see. But regardless of was a really
cool will experience, you know, being in New York, being
in his office. Damn, that guy runs at like a
million miles of second dude, Like he said, he sat
down with me for like twenty minutes, don't asking the question,
and then you did the magic trick and he was out.

I'm out, like yeah, and he's like, oh, thank you guys,
Sorry guys, I gotta go yeah later. Yeah, And that
was that was that was really cool. His workflow is crazy. Yeah,
I mean, dude, you've had some pretty interesting experiences with
like some like celebs. Yeah, I mean y G moment
that was crazy. Yes, shout out to shout out to
Eric for making that happen. But but yeah, dude, So yeah,

I'll set this up. Basically, we were at the YG
album released party. Um, it was August fourth, I still
remember that. And when was that two thousand? It was
two years ago, right after I got my surgery, which
was in two thousand, summer of seventeen. Yeah, your face
was like still kind of your face was still kind
of like puffed up. Yeah, it was small, and I
(19:59):
had I had off surgeries. I got my top just
sliced and repositioned and yeah yeah yeah just and and
then you were wearing those pants from Zap two. Was
the most loud sweatpants ever. Supreme. We're gonna talk about
tamar is a fashion sense in a little bit. But yes,

but let's talk about that. So you were doing a
magic trick for y G. YG was lit right because
he he just he like basically performed his whole album
for us. Right. This is the State Dangerous album. State
Dangerous and then I mean he was drinking, like he
was obviously a little like, you know, on the lit
side in that sense, and you started doing magic for
(20:41):
him and yeah, and I didn't expect, like, you know
what happened. Yeah, I mean, I'll tell you all what happened.
So I was planning on doing like one or two tricks,
because usually when I do magic to like celebrities or whatever,
it's it's quick. You know, they don't have a lot
of time. But HyG was like, keep going and keep going.
I'm like, oh, what it's like this I was trying
to do. I did like four tricks. Oh yeah, that's right.
(21:02):
It was a lot um. I hosted a clip of it,
a clip of it on on my Insta and I
think it's on YouTube. Complex posted it. I think it
was a fire trick or something like that. I make
his card appear and it was a cool reaction, and
you know, you know, y G was like, you know,
his reaction was pretty cool. But um, what a lot
(21:23):
of people don't know is that in the middle, like
of that whole segment of performing it, it it was like
a sixteen minute performance. Yeah, you were, you were up
there for him. It was when I look at the video,
I'm like, wow, sixteen minutes. That's a long time. But yeah,
So there was a there was a trick. I think
it was you that was like, Yo, do the money trick.
I'm like, really, I don't remember. I think it was
(21:44):
and like and the fact that you said it, I
was like, okay, well I can't say no. So I
said it while you were yeah, because he was like,
I'll do another one, and You're like, yeah, I do
the money one. I'm like, oh no, but okay, fine,
I'll do it. Oh yeah, I mean I was. I
was doing a trick and usually I wouldn't do it
when you're surrounded three sixty degrees like I was. But
(22:07):
I was like, whatever, I'll do it. I'll try it.
And that's the whole thing we were talking about the
very beginning of this talk that you know you trial
and air, you know you gotta test, you gotta fail sometimes,
and uh so yeah I did. I did this trick.
And the y G and his his team completely just
like grilled me on it, like they kind of knew
(22:28):
how it worked, and they made a big deal about it,
not a small deal. Yeah, we we got you, We
got you. Yeah, so the video of that will be
coming out I don't know in the future, so look
out for that. That's that's a video I want to
use as like a like maybe like when I'm bigger
in magic, and maybe I do like a talk and
people because I got a question a lot like do
(22:49):
you ever mess up? And how do you recover? That's
like the main video I'm gonna use to just talk
about that and because it happens, and well, you didn't
really mess up, No I didn't, but I know I
didn't mess it up. But in a way I messed
it up only because I allowed them to figure it
out just based on the situation. I don't know. Like
(23:10):
if if you do a trick that's in the wrong angles,
like you know, you know your angles are really hard,
and you still do the trick, I think that's the
mess up. Making the decision to do the trick is
the mess up, not the actual like, oh I messed
up the trick. I didn't mess that up, but the
decision I made to do it under the settings and
(23:30):
situation that was a mess up. But it's fine because
you learned from it. And that's a huge thing about magic.
It's not just doing the trick. It's about reading your audience,
reading all the people and reading like knowing your angles,
knowing what works, knowing what doesn't work, and that's where
you know, like, that's where the experience and magic comes in.
A lot of people say, oh, like, how long would
(23:51):
it take me to learn that card trick? And I
tell them, oh, I just tell them the amount of
years have been doing magic. I'm like, oh, it'll take
you thirteen years. And they're like, what what do you mean.
I'm like, well, learning the actual card trick will take
you maybe, like I don't know, a few days, weeks, months,
I don't know, depending on your skill. But learning how
to implement the trick under situation, under all situations that
(24:14):
you're given, and learning what how to maybe change your
technique based on you know, your surroundings. That's what takes
thirteen years of experience, or for me because I've been
doing it for thirteen that's what takes that long to build.
You gotta know what and what not to do under
your conditions. Of course, you learn that by experience. You've
got to get out there. You can't learn that at
(24:35):
your home. You can't learn that in front of a mirror.
You've got to learn that in the real world. No, absolutely,
and dude, and that was a great lesson. I mean, dude,
Like that was crazy to me when they were literally
trying so hard to like they didn't even they didn't
even care about the trick. They were just staring at you,
I know, you know. And one of my favorite parts
(24:57):
was actually, um, when I think you did like the
trick where you made his card up here and then
he threw it on the floor and he started stepping
on it to figure out right, I was like, oh god, like,
I mean, yeah, yeah he was. And then he was
taking the card. He was just questioning me on everything
I was saying. I'm trying to give him basic constructions
like yeah, I dude, just like snap your fingers or
(25:20):
wave your hand over and he's like, but why do
I gotta wave? Can I step on it? Like I'm like, well, okay,
step on it. Yeah, And then he was rubbing the
card on the ground and like he literally burned a
hole through the card and burned his finger and that
was funny. Yeah, that video is not out, but yeah,
maybe I'll put that clip outs and that that's funny. Yeah, absolutely,
it's really interesting because I've you handled that very well,

Like I told that's like because I don't know how
I would react in like a situation like that, so
like and obviously that is the the thirteen years that
because if you just started yesterday or a week ago,
like he said, maybe some kid would cry. I don't know, man,
like you just walk away and just look down to
case like sorry, no great. But at the end, like
he was cool, like I think the whole thing was

just a good experience. No ill will, No, not at all.
I mean, at the end of the day, it's it's
magic and sometimes it happens, but you know, you just
keep it going. And yeah, segue to a little fashion
because of what you were wearing that night. You're wearing
those a supreme I forgot what those are called, but
definitely not what I was expecting you to wear. Ever. Well, yeah,

because I was just wearing shorts from Ross. And then
we were with that to Steven Legendary have we with him?
And I was like, okay, wait, I gotta change in
the like better clothing to where and he's like, oh,
you can wear my pants? Okay, what do they look like?
And they're just like I don't even know what do

There there is, I just can't remember the exact name,
but I means and it wasn't a skeleton. It was
um like bones on them, like it's not it's it's uh,
it's I can't remember what it was called. I have

it's interesting because like a lot of people would probably
assume that, like all my good friends are all like
hype beasts and like into this kind of stuff, because
I mean, like people like Hies for example, like all
his homies grown up, like they're all like sneaker heads
and like flipping Supreme and stuff like that. I'd be
flipping cards cars. Yeah, I mean, dude, like basically none

of my friends are into it. Yeah, none of my friends, right,
I guess you have like influence like we wear like
you know I have. I have a pair of Jordan's

I've rubbed off on my friends a little bit in

we thought that's how the same parents ross the other day. Yeah,

were we just like I don't know, I don't even remember.
I think it was, you know, we were in class
and I don't know, we just because you were sitting
behind me, and so we just started talking to each other.

That was such a long time ago. Yeah, so yeah
it was. And from there, Yeah, we became good friends.
I remember I had my braces on I first went
to when I first went to your house. It just
hurts to eat the pasta at your house. My mom's
pasta is it's good, It's good. That's why it started

with Wow, I've had racest for so long. I X wow.
I definitely had some interesting encounters hanging out with you.
One time, I remember I came to your house for
like one of the first times, and your dad walked
out in his underwear, right, that was interesting to me.
He didn't know you were there. Well, I mean, I
don't think he cared because he stood there. He didn't
even say, oh, let me go put a shirt on.

He just stood there like scratching his belly, and I
was like, Hey, what's up, what's your name? Like, dude,
that dude, that was that was great. But yeah, I mean, dude,
like we've been friends ever since, and it's it's interesting
that we don't we have I feel like the reason
why we've we've stayed friends and like why I still
have the friends that I do is because of the
mindset that you know, we've had. Like it was always

about working smarter, not harder. You know, it was always
about finding a way to beat the system and be different,
find a way to like achieve your goals in an
unorthodox way that's better. You know. I think it's so
great that you're still doing magic and like it still. Yeah,
I love it. I think it's a it's a cool

it's just so cool and the world is really cool too,
I mean, and as I see it, I see everyone
has their own whatever hobby you have, there's a world
to it. So if you're sailing, if you if you
like boats and stuff, there's a whole world. There's teams
that you can join whatever, and then you know, you
got your hype, you know, supreme all that, all the

sneaker world, which I think is so cool. Um, even
though like I'm not avidly involved in it, I think
it's cool to experience it and see, I think it's
really you'll get value out of seeing every type of
world and um, go to random conventions and there's something
to learn, and I think it's cool. I like learning. Well, yeah,
I mean you you've been with me to so many

different sneaker cons. Yeah, and you're doing like magic tricks
for like you know, all the YouTubers. And then like
even though at my table, like you'd help me sell
Murder Treacher is the funny. Yeah, take a card put
under the T shirt and if the car changes into
your card, the T shirt is meant for you. So
it turns out what you're doing. And sometimes I did that, Like,

look like these shirts, they're not just regular shirts. Their magic. Sure,
let me show you what I mean. Take a card
and then you know, we'll put it here and look
because of their shirt, it's now this car. That's funny. Yeah.
And so they're like, oh, I have to buy a
magic Yeah, and they go home and they try to
do it again, like this guy scammed me. That's funny.

That just makes perfect. It's interesting because you and Patrick
are probably the ones who are down to travel the most. Yeah.
Patrick's another one of our buddies, which are you Guys
are like both like oh go here, okay, cool down
besides Cleveland anywhere. But now, especially since you're done with
school and all that, like we can start going to
(34:37):
more like it, would you be open to start learning
how to do some magic trees with like sneakers and
mentioned something. I mean, yeah, So there's different types of magic,
and one of the types is like mental is in
magic and magic kind of the mind, mind reading or
like predicting the future, predicting results, whatever. And the greatest
that's what I'm trying to get into more now. And

the greatest part about that is that it could be
applied to so many different things. Um, you can apply
it to I don't know, corporate gigs that you're doing.
You can apply it to you know, the sneaker world.
You can predict what shoe they're gonna be picking, you know,
and like you can make it a whole trick and
it's so cool and so yeah, yeah, so I'm I'm

looking forward to and I'm just trying to think and
of different new innovative ways to present magic in the
sneaker world. As as far as I know, there's no
sneaker magicians. You No, there isn't. I remember I think
one of your first Instagrams that we started was like
at sneaker magicians, you know, yeah, this is the one
easy for us to start. I'm like, oh, we should
do magic with sneakers. But I think it was just like,

like I just I was just doing magic in general,
and like if I could do it with stuff like
sneaker related or whatever related, great, But I don't know,
I don't know why we didn't keep it. Yeah, I mean, dude,
we could always try it again. You could always revitalize it.
But it's cool because, um, I think I think I

saw David Blaine wearing Jordan's one time. I don't know. Yeah,
maybe you noticed that. I just noticed the cards in
his hand. Yeah, sneaker has to make shoe contact, you
make a card to contact exactly. And there was also
this really cool magician for all you guys at home
that I came across on Netflix. That's really great. His
name is Justin Willman. It's just about magic for humans.

He did a show in Flight Club. He's actually he's
the one I'm helping out. Yeah, Justin is really cool.
I mean, there's a few magicians. I mean, the cool
thing about the magic community is that you can talk
to a lot of magicians and it's like they kind
of all try to help you or guide you, and
justin a few other magicians are like super nice guys

and they're they're cool, like yeah, knowledgeable, two they're good. Dude,
look at the show. It's amazing. To say the show,
it's amazing, and like it's it's cool because I dude,
I got hooked on the first season. I watched all
all the episodes like one day Magic for Humans for
Humans on Netflix, and then I watched the second season.
I didn't I didn't even know, Like I didn't get it,

didn't get recommended to me until way later, but I
ended up binging that one too, like literally one set
down And one of the episodes was in flight Club,
which is, uh, you know what flight club is? Yeah,
it's a sneaker. It's like one of the o G
sneaker resale Coo Simons there, yes, more or less. Um

So when I watched that, I was like, I was like,
holy shit. I was like, Tim, and you need to
fucking hit this guy. It's funny because he was doing
a thing about fake sneakers. That would have been cool
to see you kind of involved in that. You know,
Yeah it was funny because I watched that and I
was like, damn, how did because I don't want to

this is gonna sound arrogant. No, no, I don't. I
don't even not arrogant, but like I was like, damn,
Like this would have been really cool, Like if I
had known about this and if I could get involved
in somehow, like it would have been amazing. You know, yeah,

I knew that I was wanted to do a trick
with spotting, because yeah, his trick was essentially like you know,
he was using a laser pointer the spot off the

shoe is fake or real, and then it turns into
like some block of ice or just some really cool stuff.

I knew I was going to do a trick like that,
I would talk to the community be like yo, like
who's is there anyone involved in this kind of thing?
Like yeah, no, he just actually executed the idea. Well,
you know, dude, it was great. It was cool. It

was so cool at the track, such a dope trick
and like when I watched that, in my head, I
was like how like that was the WTF moment. I
was like, dude, what And then I was like, dude,
I have to reach out to this guy if he
because he said he likes sneakers on the show. So
I reached out to him. Like he actually dent me
back within like an hour, and I was like, I
was like, holy shi it, this is so cool, you know,
and he followed me and I was just talking to
(38:51):
him for a little bit. Really seems like a really
nice guy and like, from what you've told me, he's
really cool. That's a lot of cool thing. Yeah, it's
it's a cool thing about the Magic community is that
they're like open. They're really open, and like they'll like
respond to emails like if they're getting bombarded, maybe they
might miss it, but they're like, if you need guidance
or help, that's kind of want to connect, then it's
(39:14):
not impossible. And and that's the thing. It's like, and
that's one thing that I really respect about the Magic
community because it's so tight knit because sneakers are tightening it.
But it's all like dick measuring contest, Like you know,
everybody's so like, oh you don't have these hot sucks.
I have them like you know, and and that's one
thing that I don't like about the sneaker community because
(39:35):
that's that's a lot and just like a lot of
there's so many o G s in the sneaker community
that I have so much respect for, but they have
little to absolutely zero respect for me or any of
the newer guys. And I get it, like sneakers were
not what they used to be twenty years ago or
even five years ago. Ship, but things are changing and
(39:58):
sneakers are a lot more mainstream now and instead of
like like I want to pay respects to the o
G so I'd rather like I would love to have
one of the guys who talk about me on the
show and talk to him and like, bro, like like
I have mad respect for you, and things are changing,
and it's okay, you know what I mean. But it's like, um,
(40:21):
it's interesting because the secret community there's don't get me wrong,
there's so many nice people in the secret community. There's
so many nice people and that are down to help
you out and down to like be a part of
like your project. There are magicians are a lot that
that there are. I've come across a few, and thankfully
it's only been a few doing magic with their ten
(40:42):
years and going through these conventions, and yeah, I've come
across a view. Not a lot though, um, but yeah,
it's always cool. It's I think. I think I'm just
in general, good practice is to be a good human
being and people will like you. You know, even if
you can't see the direct like like Ben I fit
from it, maybe there might not be a benefit you
get out of it. It's just benefit to yourself. You
(41:04):
know that you're a good person. Yeah, of course so,
And I think that's good. And I feel like because
you said, like most people in the magic community are
so open to want to help you, and there's a
few bad apples. I feel like in sneakers it's I
don't want to say it's flipped, but it's definitely like
there's a lot of bad apples, you know what I mean.
And I always talk about how like it's important for
(41:26):
everyone to kind of come together and like because we're
part of the same community, we love the same stuff.
You know, it's different because the sneaker is fashion. It's
the fashion world, and you know that's I feel like
the fashion world is always about you know, the latest
thing or the trends or what's going on, what they're wearing,
what he's wearing or whatever. You kind of don't want
to be like everyone else, right, right, you got to
(41:48):
stand out in a way. But in Magic, it's just
it's more of like an art form, you know, it's
kind of like a craft. Well if you if you think,
if you think about it, they they're both art forms,
you know, because Shian is an art form in itself.
That's how you express yourself, and so it's magic in
a way. It's interesting because fashion is much like the
magic is like fashion in the sense like in a way,
(42:12):
you going out in public wearing a certain outfit is
kind of a performance, but not I would say it's
the art of maybe putting your outfits together and kind
of making it work and making it work, making it presenting,
maybe coming up with a new style that don't isn't seen,
or like a new combination that clicks. Yeah, now that
(42:33):
I think of it, Yeah, that is kind of like
it's a visual art form, you know. Yeah. And I
feel like with Magic two in a way, it's like
there's certain trends, like when I go on Instagram and
I see magicians, I feel like I've see the same tricks,
like the same, and then I see one guy do
some crazy ship and then everybody kind of follows suit
and no pun intended. People in the magic community are
so open and so like helping and stuff like that.
(42:54):
But the Sneakers, it's like you didn't get it. You
couldn't get them reach out cool, like I don't need
you or like you know what, I I don't know.
But don't get me wrong. There's like great people. I mean,
they know who they are. But yeah, it's interesting, it's interesting.
The world of magic and Sneaker is yeah, different but
kind of the same in a way. Yeah, I mean
we can make him intertwined. That's it. Yeah, So hopefully
(43:17):
stay on the lookout. Hopefully we'll get to Sneaker magician
popping again. Yeah yeah, yeah, but it's pretty much Tamara.
We could talk for another few a few more hours
we normally do on a daily basis. Should get Patrick
in on that toss. If that'd be funny, I'd go
out the story. Yeah. Yeah, there's way too many you guys.

I don't really share much of my personal life or
have like any of like my personal friends on on

like a good piece of advice or you could just

whatever it is you do. I got into magic, but
I also did school at the same time. Whatever it
is that you do, just work hard at it and
try to just be great at it, you know. Um,
everyone has their own route, you know, and whatever route
(44:21):
you want to take, just work hard and uh yeah,
that's what I would do, and then you'll just grow
into into things that you don't even you may not
know you'll get to Like I never thought I was
gonna be a member of the Castle, but I just
did magic and it happened. So even if you can't
see the light at the end of the tunnel. There
is a light there, and you just keep getting better
at what you like doing or what you want to do,
(44:44):
and yeah, it'll it'll start to show itself. That's awesome.
