Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's going on? Guys. Welcome back to another episode of
Legit Check. I'm your host, Easy Busta Now guys today. UM,
I'm gonna keep today's podcast short and sweet because it's
gonna be a little bit different than all the other
podcasts in the sense that, you know, it's not gonna
be talking about sneakers and the upcoming releases or exposing anybody. UM,
(00:21):
what I am going to be talking about is what
happened last week and what's carried on into this week,
and what we'll carry on moving forward. I think it's
really important for me to talk about, UM, kind of
like my thoughts and my feelings about this whole situation,
because you know, it's been crazy so far, and there's
(00:42):
been a lot of good, there's been some bad, but
hopefully the only thing that really matters is that we
come out from this better than we were before, and
there needs to be a change now. Obviously, if you
guys don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about
the horrific murder of UM George Floyd last week, and uh,
(01:03):
I honestly think it would be really inappropriate for me
to talk about anything else considering, you know what happened.
And UM, honestly, guys, like, if you haven't seen the
video by now, I mean I think everybody pretty much has. Um.
It's absolutely like disgusting. It's a video of a cop. Um,
I'm not even gonna say what his name is, putting
(01:24):
his knee to quote unquote detain a man named George Floyd.
And he held his knee on George Floyd's neck for
eight minutes and forty six seconds and sadly, Um, George
Floyd had passed away and he was killed by this
horrible cop. And I can't even like put into words
(01:46):
like what a terrible person this this guy was. And UM, honestly, guys,
like from all of this, like I said, there needs
to be a change, Like there needs to be police reform,
police brutality needs to be put to an end like this,
this has to stop. Like we we can't just continue
to pretend like it doesn't exist. And we can't just
(02:07):
continue to pretend that racist don't exist in our country.
And I mean quite frankly, quite frankly in the whole world.
But I mean, we gotta start here. We gotta start here.
We we need to love our black brothers and sisters.
We need to stand up for them. We need to
understand that what they go through we may never understand
because we are not for those who are not born black,
(02:30):
Like you don't understand what they go through on a
day to day basis, because like, racism is an absolute thing,
and you know, I think it's really messed up when
people try to pretend like it's not a real thing
or like whatever, and clearly it is and it's affected
hundreds of thousands of people honestly daily. Um, But I
(02:52):
really think that it's important for us to see what's
going on now and move forward stronger, and honestly move
forward stronger, not only as a country, but as a
as a family. We really need to understand that all
those around us are our brothers and sisters, and we
need to love everybody. Me being in the sneaker community,
(03:13):
there's people from all walks of life, all races, genders, everything,
Like everybody is united. We're all like in this together,
you know. And that's one thing that I love about
the sneaker community is not just um, like one specific race,
like it's we're all It's like a melting pot, you know.
(03:34):
I've been all over the world um at at sneaker
conventions and events, and like it's amazing how people from
all from all over the world come together and we
all have the same passion and the same love for
like the same things, which is so cool, and like
that's why I love the sneaker community and that sense.
But I think it's really important for all of us
(03:55):
to come together and fight racism. And honestly, this isn't
even like political anymore. This is this is something that
just inherently needs to be stopped. Like everybody agrees that
this is absolutely Like what what that cop didn't George
Floyd was absolutely disgusting, I mean, right left, middle, like
(04:17):
wherever you are on the political spectrum, Like, we all
agree that what he did was disgusting and it needs
to be this This should not be a white and
versus black thing. This should be an everyone versus racist
team because guys, anybody who has any sort of racism
in their heart is it's just racism is evil, Like
(04:37):
how could you believe that your race superior to someone else's.
Like at the end of the day, Like, I mean,
the textbook definition of racism is literally um discriminating against
someone on the basis that your racist superior. Like, dude,
that is so disgusting to me that anybody would ever
think that they're better than someone else just because of
the color of their skin. And there needs to be
(05:01):
a change, like out of all this, out of all
of the protests, like the peaceful protests and the rioting
and the looting and all this madness and chaos, like
there needs to be a light at the end of
the tunnel that is positive. People need to come out
of this knowing that we all have each other, that
we love each other no matter what color your skin is,
(05:23):
or how you identify, or where your back or what
your background is, like we all need to just come
together and love each other. And all of us just
need to understand that this is not this is not
like we all need to understand that this is everybody
versus the racists, because racism doesn't belong in our country,
it doesn't belong in the world, and it's something that
(05:46):
needs to be completely eradicated. And I think this is
the first step, and this should have been this step
should have been taken a long time ago, because George
Floyd did not have to die, He did not deserve
to die. He should not have died. And quite frankly,
it just makes me sick that um sick about what
this cop did to him. But on top of that,
the fact that this guy had multiple offenses before what
(06:09):
he just did last week, and nobody stopped him or
kicked him out of the force. He continued to stay
in the force. He was allowed to be in the force,
and he was allowed to kill George Floyd. And honestly,
it just makes me sick, Like there needs to be
police reform, Like police brutality is a thing. It really
(06:31):
needs to stop. Like nobody deserves to see there their son,
their father, their grandson, like whatever get killed by a
police officer for no reason. Like it just makes me sick.
And and guys, obviously you know, today's episodes very um
different than what we normally talk about. Like I said,
(06:52):
but I mean it's something that needs to be said.
Like I think I would be very insensitive and ignorant
not to talk about what's going on and like and
I give you guys my opinion on the whole thing,
because I do have such a large platform, UM and
I want my platform to spread positivity and um happiness,
And I know a lot of people might be like, yo,
(07:15):
you know you bully people like whatever. I never really
view what I do as bullying because honestly, I just
I just speak the truth. Man. If somebody's weren't to
fake stuff, I'm like, yo, that's fake and that's it.
I always talking about how I don't really care people
wear fake stuff as long as they just don't up
to it. But if somebody wears fake stuff and pretends
like it's real, that's my issue. Right. But if you notice,
(07:37):
I never like really name call um. I never I
never like put anyone down for anything. I just kind
of just speak the truth about like what they're wearing. Right,
And you know, obviously I've built an audience in a
platform that you know, listen that he um listens to
what I have to say and kind of respects my
(07:59):
opinions on things, and guys, Like, if there's anything that
you guys can respect my opinion on out of everything
that I've ever done, please just try and understand and
respect my opinion about what's going on now, Like there
needs to be a change. Police brutality needs to be stopped.
Racists need to like funk off like they need to
(08:19):
be they like they need to be educated and understand
that racism has no place in America, has no place
in this world, has no place in anybody's heart. And
and that's honestly how I feel about this whole thing.
And in a way, like obviously I want I want
life to go back to quote unquote normal, but life
(08:42):
can't can't continue to go on normal if things like
this keep happening. The only way that we're going to
be able to live in like a good, positive, equal
and happy society is to end things like this and
police brutality and racism. And this is a necessary step
to move forward. And everybody has the right to protest.
I stand for it. And um, obviously there are some
(09:06):
things and that that try to blur the message of
what's actually trying to be spread from the protesting. Like
people want to protest for there to be a change
and for there to be justice for George Floyd. People
aren't protesting to loot or to steal things. Like the
people who are doing that are opportunists who just like
(09:27):
want want to take advantage of this whole situation. Besides that,
I support the protesters and make your voice heard. Yell
that ship, yell that ship, like stand for justice, stand
for a change in our country, stand for a necessary change.
I don't want to see this happen ever again. And honestly,
(09:51):
I love each and every one of you guys, like
I don't care what like race, gender, or cultural background
that you have, Like I love you as a human
and everybody just needs to understand that we're all brothers
and sisters, were all humans. We all look the same
under our skin, like we all have the same organs,
we all have the same blood that runs through our veins,
(10:13):
and we need to understand that everybody needs to come
together and we need to we need to make a change.
And I know I've said that like a hundred times,
but that's honestly my whole opinion on the matter. Like
we need to make a change. We need to there
needs to be a change, and I really hope that.
And if you're listening to this, I like, I like,
I appreciate you more than anything, Like thank you for supporting,
(10:36):
thank you for always backing me up. And like I said,
if I can leave you guys with one thing, I
want to I want to leave you guys with this,
just love each other. And I mean Honestly, That's that's
the best way I could put it. Love each other
and fight for justice. And that's it. Just love each
other and fight for justice. UM. I really wanted to
dedicate this whole episode about UM George Floyd and what
(10:58):
had happened and UM Inneapolis. So UM, guys, these are
just my opinions on the whole matter. I'm really trying
to It's really hard for me to talk about this
kind of stuff because it's it's so serious and UM,
I always have a hard time putting in words like
the way I feel because I feel really strongly about
(11:20):
what's happened, and like I every time I like think
about it, it it just makes me sick to my stomach.
But I just wanted, but since I have a platform,
I wanted to speak out, um about what exactly is happening.
And UM, that's just how I feel, guys, And UM,
if you guys want to help out, I do have
some resources on my Instagram. I'm gonna be posting them
(11:43):
on my story throughout the next week or so. UM
I've donated, I've donated myself. UM if you guys can
donate anything that UM, anything helps guys, seriously, anything helps,
and if you can't, then at the very least just
try to spread the message because guys, it's free to
post on Instagram, it's free to tweet, it's free to
(12:03):
make a YouTube video, it's free to do all those things.
So just spread the message and let's fight free equality
because black lives matter and there needs to be a
change to fight those people who think that their lives
don't matter. So, guys, I love you guys so much,
and I'm gonna get you guys next week, um two,
and obviously next week hopefully things will have died down
(12:26):
and a change has actually happened because you know, uh,
people are going to be out there until there is
justice and there is a change. So I'm gonna get
you guys next week. I appreciate you guys for listening,
and guys, just love each other and fight for justice
and make your voice heard. All right, guys, Love you guys. Peace,
