Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's going on? Guys. Welcome back to Legit Check. I'm
your host, Easy Busta, and welcome back to another episode.
Missed you guys. It's been a week, and UM, you
know it's gonna be a nice and short episode this
week because there's not a whole lot of stuff to
catch up on and we don't have a guest this week.
We had a really awesome guest, my new friend Peyton,
who came on last week. If you guys haven't listened

(00:20):
to that episode, and make sure you guys go listen.
It's pretty amazing. Peyton was a Make a Wish kid
who actually designed his own sneaker and him and I
kind of broke down the process of him going to
Nike and designing his own true and meeting Tinker Hatfield
and it was really cool. So if you guys can
go check that out. UM, trust me, guys, it's it's
a good one and Peyton's a really good guy. Um,

(00:44):
I'm really happy that he had that opportunity and it's
so so cool. So make sure you guys go check
out that episode if you guys haven't already. And Um,
in terms of this episode, I kind of think that
we should go through and talk about something like the
newer sneaker updates, because every week it's been kind of
kind of different. You know, it's been a little bit weird.
Um obviously with everything that's been going on with coronavirus

(01:07):
and then with um, with everything that went on with
George Floyd and all the aftermath, it's been a um
crazy year to say the least. But I mean, I'm
happy that good changes are gonna happen hopefully fingers crossed,
and slowly things are starting to open up again, So
I'm really happy about that too. But guys, please make

(01:27):
sure you guys stay safe. It is still serious. Um,
make sure you guys keep your distance away from each other.
Let's all beat this together and just love each other guys.
That's it, honestly, don't be racist. If you're racist, you suck.
So just be nice to win each other. And that's
pretty much, you know my thoughts. I actually did do
a podcast on my thoughts on the whole George Floyd incident,

(01:49):
and if you guys want to listen to that one too,
I think it was a couple of weeks ago. So anyway,
let's let's have this week be a little bit lighter.
This week, we're going to talk about um um some
of the new sneaker releases that are coming out. Like
one shoe that I'm actually pretty excited about is the
Jordan's six hair. Now, it's really dope. I don't think

(02:11):
it's ever come out before. Um. I think it only
came out of ninety two UM. And it used to
be at Jordan's seven and now it's a six. I
don't necessarily know the exact um history behind the shoe.
I'm gonna do my research, guys. Okay, I'm gonna do
my research. But it is a super dope shoe. I

(02:33):
saw the promo picture they did had bugs money, and
basically it kind of looks like a white infrared six
with some subtle details like the lace lock is um
green on the tip and orange on the main part,
so it's kind of like a carrot um. And I
don't know, I think they're really fire. Wait, I guess
actually they're used to. Okay, So let's look, so there

(02:54):
used to be Jordan's six. Let's see, we're gonna we're
gonna do the research all for you guys. So let's
say Jordan's six hair. Okay, so we have them, and
we have some more stinker releases too that I want
to get to, but um, I want to kind of

(03:16):
talk about these ones first because I think they're really cool.
So basically, um, these are not the two thousands, seventeen
alternate Jordan's six. This is specifically modeled after the hair
color way of the Jordan's seven. So this is I
guess the first Jordan's six hair and it has like

(03:38):
a carrot themed lace lock with a um hairprint on
the translucent tongue, which is actually really really cool. And um,
I guess, So I guess this is the first time
the shoe is coming out. And I don't think there's
a whole lot of hyper on this shoe honestly, but um,
I mean, I think it's really dope. I would wear
these like this is a really cool summer show. You

(03:58):
can even get away with wearing short with these guys,
and it's cool. They have like a purple gentle man
logo on the back and purple on the bottom. I
don't know, you can never go wrong with purple and shoes.
In my opinion, I really think they look super fire.
I don't think they're gonna be too hyped Um rerelease.
It looks like they're going for about like two fifty
to sixty, so I can't imagine them going for two
too much. But I mean it's a really really dope shoo.

(04:20):
I would definitely rock these. At first, when I saw these,
I was debating whether or not to get these or
the fire Red Fives as kind of like an all white,
clean um Jordan for the summer. But I don't know.
I haven't really decided yet which one I'm gonna get.
Maybe I'll get both. I do really like both. I
think they're both like pretty awesome. But let's move on.
Let's see what else is coming out. Like, there's obviously

(04:43):
the Grateful Dead pack that everybody keeps teasing on Instagram,
which is so fire. I love them. They're so so
so sick. So they did three Bears again, um, but
I don't think that they're going to name them Papa,
Mama and Baby Bear. It's a it's a different things,
like a Grateful Dead um collab or I don't know

(05:04):
if it's an official collab or exactly what it is,
but it's definitely for all those Grateful Dead found fans
out there, and it's the first time they've done like
a bear s b I'm pretty sure since they did
the collab with UM on the Bare Bricks, which you know,
I think it's actually really really cool. Um. I have

(05:24):
the Papa Bears Flames by the way. I'm a big
fan of the Baby Bears, not a huge fan of
the Mids, which are the Mama Bears, and the Baby
Bears are the loads by the way. Um, so yeah,
I love those. Those are super fire. Another shoe that
we have coming out is the Jordan's five Top three.
So personally I do like these, but I don't think

(05:50):
I'm gonna be picking these ones up because they're they're
a little bit too crazy. They're like all over the place.
They got red, um, purple blue obviously since it's gonna
be the like the grape color way. I don't know,
I'm just I'm just not too crazy about him, because
I mean, it is it's a mixture. Basically, what it
is is the Jordan five that's a mixture of the

(06:12):
fire red, the metallic, and the grape color ways. So
I mean, I get what they're doing, but for me,
it's just too much going on and I don't think
I'll rock tho, but I do like the Nike Air
on the back. You can never go wrong with the
Nike Air on the back. Another shoe that I'm actually
pretty excited for is the Jordan four Metallic Red. I

(06:33):
love the concept behind these shoes. The metallic green is
my favorite. The purples are pretty sick too, but the
metallic greens are definitely gonna take the cake for me,
just because green is my favorite color. So that's why
I really like those um. Another shoe that's coming out
is the Jordan three Animal Instinct two point oh. Now,
I don't know what do you guys think about this shoe.

(06:54):
The original one came out like I think a year
ago or something and have the cheetah print, the zebra uh,
and then I think tiger stripes or something. I can't
really remember. But these ones have like a ostridge, croc
um elephant, and like snake skin. I don't know. I'm
not a big fan. I wasn't a big fan of
the first one. Not really a big fan of these

(07:15):
ones either. I don't think I'm gonna pick these ones up.
I do kind of like the color way though I
don't like the prints and everything, but I think the
color way looks kind of wacky and I kind of
like it, but I don't know, not necessarily for me.
So one shoe that's kind of hyped, I'm not necessarily
sure like how hyped it really is. But the Tide
Jordan one high, I think they're pretty cool. Um, it

(07:38):
definitely looks like a shoe you would wear to like
Coachella or like a music festival or something. It definitely
does give me summer vibes. It is a women shoe, though,
so the sizes are probably gonna be a little bit
more Um, the size range is probably gonna be a
little bit more limited than normal. And like, I'm all
for them making like women's exclusive Jordan's, but the only

(07:59):
reason why I get pissed is because it never comes
in my size because I'm a size eleven men's, so
I'm a twelve and a half women's and there are
so many women's Jordans that go up to a twelve,
and I just can't squeeze in a ten and a half,
like I'm more of like eleven and eleven and a half.
So that's the only reason I'm like, God, damn it,
it's a it's a women shoe. I'm not gonna be

(08:20):
able to buy it because I can't even fit in
it even if I wanted to. There are some um
women's nikes that have come out that go up to
like a size women's sixteen, So I'm very thankful for
when that happens. But I can't even tell you how
many times I I've had to sit out on a
certain shoe because of it being a women's shoe. Um,

(08:42):
but let's see what else. Okay, So also we have
the Nike Dunklow University read Now, if you guys know me,
and you guys have been listening to the podcast, you
guys know that I'm a big um Dunk guy. And
I'm not gonna pretend like I've been been into Dunk
since like the nineteen because I was born in everybody

(09:03):
knows I got into them a few years ago. Um,
they're really big right now, there are. They are starting
to re release some kind of retros. Um like the
Brazil for example, that just came out a couple of
weeks ago was a retro, which was cool. And I
think that I think the University of Reds are retros.
I'm not entirely sure, but um, are they retros. Okay,

(09:28):
so I guess I guess this. They're like celebrating the
anniversary of the Nike Dunk with the shoe, which is
pretty cool actually, so so I know that the St.
John's color way is the high Top. So I don't
know if these are technically retros, but I don't know.
I think they're fire. I'm definitely gonna pick those up.

(09:50):
That red color ways clean, um kind of gives me
the Chicago one vibes. Okay, let's move on to something
that's not a Nike. So the next Easy that's coming
out is the Easy Boost seven M n v N.
I don't know how to pronounce that. Every time I
see that, I just think Minivan. I don't know what
do you guys think, um, but I always think Minivan

(10:13):
and and then it gives me kind of like a
weird image in my head of the shoe with like
tires on it, and I'm like, oh, okay, makes sense.
So anyways, this is a bone color way, nice clean,
um simple. There was an orange and it's like a
yellow color way. Um. I can't remember what those ones
are called, but um, I don't know. I'm not too

(10:34):
crazy about these. I I like the all black ones.
I think those are are pretty hard. These are just
a little bit too. I don't know. The color way
is cool. I guess I maybe I'll pick up a
pair of those. Um. But as far as what else
is coming out, it's definitely gonna be a minute since
since a couple of shoes coming. Oh, actually, this is
a shoe that I really wanted to talk about because

(10:54):
I know that Kais was definitely pulling his hair out
when he heard about the shoe coming out. As many
of you guys know, the Jordan five retro Oregon Duck
color way is releasing. Um it's supposed to come out
at the end of this year, I think like September October.
And basically what it is is it's literally the Oregon

(11:16):
five um pe, like same color way and everything, but
they stripped it from the Oregon branding, so it was
kind of like the U n C three's where um,
like the UNC three's, they they did the same thing
and then they replaced the U n C branding with
like a patch. Um, so this is gonna be the
same thing. And guys that the patches so ugly to me.

(11:37):
They did the same thing on the Michigan fives. I
just I just don't like the patch. I think maybe
I'll pick these up because you know, you guys know
I'm a I'm a green enthusiast. Like I said earlier,
UM one of the weirdest things I've ever said. And
definitely I think the color ways super clean. Genuinely. I
actually wanted to get the UM the Pe version of
the shoot, but thank god I didn't because now the

(11:59):
prices that are just gonna like tank. That's pretty much
what happened with the UNC three. Um. They used to
be like eleven thousand dollar shoe or more, and now
it's it's a lot less. It's still worth more just
because it has the UNC branding, but it's it's not
the same. It's not the same. But yeah, So the
reason why Kais is pulling his hair out is because, um,

(12:21):
he's he's gotten UM three p s and all three
of which have become general releases. So the first ones
he got where the UNC three's. I think he got
them from Jordan's and then he I'm pretty sure you
got rid of them, and then he bought the No
I don't. I don't think he got rid of those actually,
but he bought the um the Jordans five Organs, right,

(12:43):
and then a picture got teased to them, so he
sold them, and he got the Jordan's six Oregons, and
those are supposedly coming out at the end of the
year too. So it just seems like Jordan is kind
of trolling Kais, which is pretty funny. I wonder if
it's a coincidence or if they are looking at his
page or whatever. I don't know, but yeah, that's super funny.
So this is a shoe that will be coming out,

(13:04):
I think I might get it and then take the
patches off. Um. I don't really care for the Oregon
branding like that much. Obviously, it's like a flex and everything,
but I'm not gonna like stitch it on myself. I
just don't like the way the patch looks. I think
it just looks like weird and kind of out of
place a little bit. But yeah, those are kind of
like some of the shoes that are coming out, like
more g R I guess. So. Also, like I was

(13:27):
talking about earlier, the Grateful Dead pack is so sick,
so I'm reading a little bit more into it right now.
I guess it is a collap and there's a green
and blue color way. These are so fire, dude. I
need the green color way, man, I need it so fire.
There's green yellow, and what is the other color way?
I can't seem to remember, or maybe there's two only

(13:50):
I thought there was three. Oh okay, so there was
a teaser of an orange one. But maybe it's just
going to be friends and family. I actually haven't seen
anybody where the orange ones. I've seen a couple of
people wear the yellow ones so far, like Team Early,
but um, I've never seen anyone wear the orange ones.

(14:10):
And I guess the bears that are on the insole
are green, yellow, orange, pink, and blue. So I wouldn't
be surprised if, um if allow five of those color ways. Job,
but maybe they're only going to do two more quote
unquote grs than one friends and family. I don't know.
I don't know what Nike is up to these days,
but anyway, but anyway, so for those of you who

(14:32):
don't know, Grateful Dead is actually a rock band and
they've been around forever. I think that they let's see,
I think they were popping in like the seventies or
the sixties. I'm not exactly sure, but I find it
interesting that they're actually going to be doing a collab
right now. Um, I don't know if they're still playing.

(14:53):
I'm not gonna sit here and pretend like I'm I
know everything about rock music because I really don't. Um,
but I think that the Is are genuinely super super
fire dude. Um. I think they're really dope shoes. And
it's gonna be funny because I feel like there are
going to be some old heads for like, you never
listened to Grateful Dead, You're not allowed to wear those shoes.
It's just like it's just like those people who wear

(15:16):
the Metallica shirts and people are all like, come on, dudey,
you don't even listen to Metallica, Why are you wearing
a shirt just like Okay, well maybe I just like
the design, you know, like maybe I do. And that's it. Um.
It's interesting because Travis Travis Scott, I guess, kind of
started that whole. Um. I'm not gonna say he started
the vintage rock band T shirt Wave, but he was

(15:36):
definitely on it, like heavy, and in a few interviews,
people were like, oh, do you listen to like so
and so? And I mean, I can't remember which rock
band it was. It might have been like Joy Division
or something, and he was like, oh Na, but like
a funk with their aesthetic, right, So it is okay
to like something for the look. You know, I'm all

(15:58):
about it. And I've actually seen a bunch of people
were grateful Dead, like t s Um the one with
the skull with like the lightning bolt looking thing that's
going in between it that's red and blue. Um that.
I've seen a lot of people where and I wonder, like, why,
all of a sudden they they got this cloud of Nike.
I mean, it's sick. I'm not complaining, don't get me wrong,

(16:20):
but um, I'm wonder where it came from. I wonder
if it's been something in the works for like a
long time, or if it's just like some super random
collab that they decided to do, you know. To be
interesting actually is if they did a claud with Rolling Stones,
because I feel like they are probably, if not the
most recognizable and the most like still relevant and famous

(16:44):
rock group. I don't know who is. And I know
if you're listening to this as a rock like a
rock and roll enthusiasts, you'd probably like, oh my God.
But I'm only basic in off of the fact that
they we're still one of the highest earning artists or
highest earning musicians or whatever. In so the fact that

(17:06):
they made music like before I was born and they're
still popping and still making a lot of money, I
don't know, like what that necessarily means. I don't know
if it's just like brand deals or like whatever it is,
or people are still genuinely listening to their music all
the time. Then I mean, it's pretty awesome. But I
mean it'd be cool to see Rolling Stones sp I

(17:26):
think that would be really sick with like the the
they can make the tongue um, the actual tongue of
like their logo um. But yeah, dude, like they've been
around since the sixties, man like that. That's that's crazy,
and they're still like in I guess they made I
think they were like fifth or six on the most
money made during this year, which is crazy to me. Obviously,

(17:51):
Mick Jagger like dude, like legend, you know what I mean,
Like he's always going to be a legend, And you know,
I think it would be cool to to see them
do a collab. Now my favorite rock band before I
start getting roasted for not knowing everything about everything about rock.
My favorite rock band growing up was A C D
C UM. A C d C was one of my

(18:12):
dad's favorite groups, but I mean he was into more
like Judas Priest and led Zeppelin, But for me, I
was I was into a C d C. That's like
the one T shirt that I can wear and display proudly.
And if somebody's like, name three songs, that can be like,
all right, cool, Like you know what I'm saying. Like
for the most part, like most people can't name name

(18:35):
like three or five songs or whatever of anything that
they're wearing. And to be completely honest, I don't think
it's that big of a deal. Like I really don't.
Like I've seen people wear even Travis Scott March and
they think it's cool and they're like, oh, what's your
favorite Travis song? And they're just like, oh, suco Mode
and they don't know any other song. And that's okay.
Like if they want to you know, be up with
the trans or keep up with the trends or whatever

(18:58):
and they think it's cool, then yeah, I think I
should be able to wear it. I don't care. Just
like I don't have any problem with people who aren't
sneaker heads who want to buy Like Jordan's like, that
doesn't make me offended. It's just I'm just like, like,
I don't care. People can buy and wear whatever they want,
contrary to what people think about me. I don't give
a ship if people um buy fakes. I really don't care,

(19:18):
Like it really doesn't irk me. I just get annoyed
when people buy fakes and flex it as real. And
I said that a hundred times, So I'm really not
one to judge what people are specifically wearing, and I'm
not gonna ever ask like, oh, name three blah blah blah,
and it's um, it's funny. I saw this meme. I
think John Mayer posts it, but it was like, oh
you like rock and roll? Name three T shirts? Name

(19:42):
three rock band shirts or something like that. It was
it was pretty funny. Um, It's just like it's like
that guy who's like, oh, you like sneakers, name all
of them, like all every single one. Like it's kind
of funny because I know people who are super into
It's kind of funny because I know people who are
super into Supreme and they don't even know like the
guy who started it or like the year that it started.

(20:05):
And that's the thing that really blows my mind is
because it's literally on so many different pieces, like so
many different pieces, and it's like not that hard to
put two and two together. And um, I mean, I
really wonder if there's anybody out there who owns Easies
and Where's Easies that doesn't know who Kanye is? I

(20:25):
really wonder that. Or do you think that there's people
out there who where Jordan's who don't know Michael Jordan's Is?
I really wonder because that would be that would be
kind of crazy, honestly, if people who, um, I don't
know who Michael Jordan is, where Jordan's. I feel like

(20:47):
I feel like if you do where Easies or Jordan's,
you kind of have to know the backstory of them,
you know what I mean, Like there has to be
some sort of connection to the shoe in order for
you to like really appreciate it. Because I feel like
like most of my friends who aren't sneaker heads, who
don't really like give a crap about um, um like
my shoes, like they can appreciate like a Jordan one

(21:08):
or whatever, they're, Oh, that's a really cool shoe, Like
I like that, But they don't understand like the significance
you know what I mean. They don't understand the significance
of a six. They don't understand the significance of in
the eleven, Like how how big it is to like basketball,
not only just sneakers, but like basketball. You know, most
of my friends now know what a Jordan one, what

(21:30):
a Jordan one, three, four or five? Six? And eleven's are?
I think most of my friends know that. I don't
really um quiz them on sixes versus seven because they
look very very similar. Um. Even sometimes I catch myself
making that mistake, like if I just look at it
too quickly. But but yeah, like I feel like the

(21:54):
Jordan one is so distinguishable, Jordan three super distinguishable, Jordan's
four very easy to tell. Um, Jordan's five that's when
it starts getting a little bit trickier. Jordan's six and
seven obviously very difficult. Um. The eights to me look
entirely different. But I can see maybe some people getting

(22:14):
um confused, But I don't know. It's interesting. It's interesting
to me. The same thing with easy is like people
don't really know. Like there's literally some people who don't
know that v ones exist, Like they just some people.
That's the thing, because some people don't really care that much.
So they just got one pair of easies from full
lockerund they're like, oh, I got those shoes everyone's talking about.
But then they don't know like the first one, you

(22:35):
know what I mean. So yeah, I mean, yeah, okay,
Well this whole conversation kind of took a, um a turn.
It was unexpected, but yeah, it's it's it's interesting. Um
I'm happy that life is slowly starting to go back
to normal and actually for the better. Um. But I mean,

(22:56):
I hope we see some cool new sneaker releases. I
hope that, um, I can start shopping in person again. Actually,
I went to the mall for the first time in
three months or four months or whenever. I guess probably
three months, right, three months. For the first time. It
was so weird, dude. Everybody was standing so far away
from each other. There was a line to get into

(23:18):
every store. You had to put hand sanitizer um on
at the door before you walk in. It was weird.
It was it was really weird. And now, like certain
restaurants they actually, um like check your temperature before you
you walk in, which is good. I understand the safety
um precautions, but it's just so weird. It just it
just feels like I'm living in an alternate universe. But um,

(23:41):
I mean, I guess we'll see in the coming months,
like how if everything slows down. But you know, I
kind of miss um. I mean I kind of miss
I really miss like human interaction like going to festivals
and going out and um like even just shopping sneaker
cons like everything. I miss all that stuff. And I
know you guys, I know all you guys do too.

(24:02):
But let's all hang in there. Let's do our parts
so you know, we can all um go do our
favorite things again. Because the faster that we um conquer
this and overcome it, the faster than we can have
everything go back to normal. So yeah, that's pretty much it. Well, anyway, guys,
I'm gonna get you guys next week. I'm hoping I'm
going to have fingers crossed. I hope I will have

(24:24):
a really cool guest for you guys next week. Um.
Him and I have been going back and forth to
see exactly, like what's the best time for both of us.
He's been super super busy even during um um like quarantine.
So fingers crossed, I'll have a really cool guest for
you guys next week. Um, and that's pretty much chick guys. Um,
let's uh, let's check out some of new sneaker releases

(24:45):
and best of luck on copying whatever you're gonna copy
next week, and maybe I'll start doing um what should
I start? I feel like at the end of the
podcast we should have something because at first I did
like a sneaker of the day or whatever, but I
don't know, maybe we should bring that back, you know one,
I'm gonna bring that back right now. So today's sneaker
of the Day is the Nike Off White Blazer original

(25:10):
the ten, So the white one. First of all, the
best um off white blazer that's come out, hands down.
You can't you can't. You can't tell me anything else
like it is the best one that came out, super fire.
I actually haven't warned them. I really wanted to wear them,
but um, they're half a size too big, so maybe
I will um exchange him. I just haven't had the

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
