Speaker 1 (00:08):
Misspelling with Tori Spelling and iHeartRadio podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
We're back together.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
We're back baby.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
It's a step back baby. Okay.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
So, as everyone probably knows, at this point, I went down.
I went down. I had COVID really bad. But my
pod besty partner Easton covered me, and you did a
brilliant job. You don't even need me, so by this
is your show now it will.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
We were deeply missed.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
Obviously I appreciate, I'm honored that you trusted me to
helm the ship while you were gone, But oh my god,
your absence was so palpable, and I could not wait
for you to come back.
Speaker 1 (00:51):
So I watched every week from my sick bed and
was like, oh, so wanted you know me.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
I had so many notes.
Speaker 4 (01:04):
Yeah, and I was hoping that you were you know,
obviously I wanted you to get better. I wanted you to recuperate.
But also I was like, oh God, I hope she's watching,
and I think she I can't wait to hear it.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
She has to say about all this stuff. What happened?
Speaker 2 (01:17):
A lot has happened.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
There was the first of all, just to go back
for one quick, hot second the dedication week, I thought
I was in some lucid dream because I was sick
because it was so I was like, no one can
judge this, They can't judge us. And then no one
was eliminated, obviously, but I was just like.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
Beautiful, heart warming, but I was like, oh my gosh.
And then what was the week after?
Speaker 2 (01:50):
What was the week after?
Speaker 3 (01:51):
Oh my gosh, Wicked Night, Wicked Night.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Oh, Wicked Night. That was a good night. I enjoyed that.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Wicked was great. It was a lot of fun. And
we've had some guest judges in the time since you've
been away. That's been really exciting.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
I know, I liked seeing that a lot. That was
very fun. And then Halloween Night. Of course, you know,
whores are jam together as friends, so I was so
bummed not to do that one with you.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
That was really really cool.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
I was a little shocked at the bottom two, yes,
because I'm like, come on, Whitney's not in the bottom two.
But what a great drama effect it is to have
the two Mormon wives here, Whitney and Jen. And I
was like, this makes me feel like something's all but okay.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
You know, so we'll get into it more in this
this episode. But I said this on the pod, but
I have a theory that I don't know if you
saw this, but like Whitney and Mark were going to
like they were doing a giveaway for their for tickets
to the taping, and then they had to like quickly
stop and say, we're not allowed to do that. And
they kind of threw like ABC and the BBC like
(03:11):
under the like oh, they said we couldn't do it.
And so I think putting them in the bottom two
or like you know, we say the bottom two, there's
really it's like one one person's at the bottom and
the rest are for dramatic effect.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
But I think that was the production trying to punish
them for doing this weird ticket giveaway thing.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
That's my theory, valid theory, but it is also great TV.
Speaker 3 (03:35):
Yes to show the.
Speaker 1 (03:37):
Two Mormon wives against each other being eliminated. I mean,
we knew Yan was gonna go oh yeah, yeah, poor guy.
There's so many comments from the judges and then Max
doing everything and going going social.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
I was like, Okay, this guy's out, but.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
And Jen went along with him. She's really great. Okay,
here we are we back bitches. Okay, so rock and
Roll Hall of Fame.
Speaker 4 (04:09):
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame night. I so they
post the songs like I can't you know, they'll post
them in advance. You can like see who's going to
sing what?
Speaker 1 (04:20):
And I get really excited. Ain't no one singing anything
dancing to it? Yeah, I'm fucking with.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
You, but I shouldn't be singing anyway.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
I get I missed you so much.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
I get really excited when I see that and see
what dance they're doing and what song.
Speaker 4 (04:40):
Yes, me too, And I love that they make that
it's like not a surprise, you know, it's it's not
a surprise like the Night of Like they make it
like very available. I did not look up anything, just
I just I didn't think to do it. And then
I saw on because I follow the Beach Boys on Instagram.
I'm a huge Beach Boys fan, and I they were
posting with him. They did a collab with Andy, and
(05:03):
I was and I'm like, oh my god, he's dancing
to a Each Boy song.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
I cannot wait.
Speaker 4 (05:07):
So that was the only one I knew about in advance,
and I was so excited. But there's so many great
songs to choose from Uh, I'm really curious what you
think about the guest judge Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame member Flavor Flav.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
Well, Flavor Flav is my boyfriend. I'm just kidding.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
I always say that when we see each other on
the red carpet, we always have like a fun interaction.
We're friends. I love him, he loves me. How how
in what world can he weigh in on ballroom dances
(05:50):
and moves and technicality?
Speaker 2 (05:52):
I love him, but it's just.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
A yeah, I agree with you, and again I'm last season,
I watched the first two episodes and then there was
a horrible event that happened that that I could not watch.
Speaker 3 (06:09):
After the elimination of Toy Spelling, I just stopped watching.
I didn't watch.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
I was like, wait, what happened in your life? I
don't remember this last year?
Speaker 1 (06:17):
What?
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Yeah, So this is like the most I've watched ever,
and so like, I don't know, you know, I don't
know if they've done guests.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
I assume they do guesses. That's just something they've always done.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
I assume they do.
Speaker 4 (06:29):
But so, you know, my first foray into this and going, like,
so far we've had uh, I can't remember her name
but we had a we had a former.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Dancer, right, we had Cheryl Burke.
Speaker 4 (06:44):
Well, we had Cheryl Burke, and then we had John
m chu the director of Wicked, who uh is a fan.
Like not only is he like he you know, he
makes musicals, uh, but he's also just a massive Dancing
with the Stars fan, so he like he knew what
to look for, he knew how to give comments to
ax that.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
I was okay with that.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
Yeah, that makes sense to me. Sense and uh yeah,
so that that made sense to me. This one. I
was like, Flavor Flame is great.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
He's great. He has energy that is unparalleled.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
He has so much going to be watching him. I
loved it, Yeah, of course.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:20):
And like watching him like come out was he had
such a cool, like grand entrance. I'm like, oh, this
is gonna be a lot of fun. And then immediately
I was like, oh, no, this is he doesn't know
what to look for.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
This is gonna be that.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
I and I got to be honest and you know,
so kind of him, but him giving tens, I just
felt like it threw off the scores for the night.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
I was just like, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Yeah, he really threw off the average.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
I was at one point I was wondering if he
was going to try and do like, uh like ten
million or something, and then he was a type of
one in by accident and like his score review one,
I thought that would.
Speaker 2 (08:02):
Be what happened.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
And it was like when he was giving his feedback
and commentary, it just he felt out of his league,
which he's such a confident, brilliant performance guy. Like I
was just like my heart was sinking for him as
a friend because I was like, yeah, he doesn't know
(08:24):
what to say, Like, I don't know it really, I
think threw the show off. And I don't want to
get in trouble for saying this because we're friends, but yeah,
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Yeah, it's you know, and we'll we'll get into this
as the as the show goes on. But once again,
this is rock and Roll Hall of Fame night. On
Dancing with the Stars, Season thirty four, Week eight, we're
in the Elite eight here, so let's see our first
our first dance, shall we shall we get to last?
For Dylan Efron and Daniella knder Gosh dancing the jive.
(09:01):
I'm still standing by Elton John. This was really exciting, Uh,
I'm you know, I know this song, but I hadn't
like seen the music video or anything. Uh connection to
our our favorite judge, Bruno Tennoli. I think I'm saying
his name right, but Bruno is in the music video
for this song. So you know, one could call this pandering,
one could call this a fun connection. Uh, but it
(09:25):
was a really it was a great dance, a move,
very very.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Very smart, strategic move from Dylan and Daniella.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
But uh, the like rehearsal package, I loved it opened
up with Dylan saying I have PTSD from my broken
nose and just like saying that very confidently.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
I thought that was funny.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
And he somehow he got Daniella broke his nose during
rehearsals last week. He somehow became more attractive when that happened.
He is just a force of nature, Dylan Lefron A god,
he really is. Yeah, I mean I love this dance.
He like slid on his stomach right off the bat
like on the floor. It was, Uh, it was fun
(10:06):
to watch. He's just gotten so good in the last
few weeks. I'm so impressed with him.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
I am as well.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
And obviously they opened the show because they were like, Okay,
this this is a good one to open the show with.
And he is he's a performer, he's an athlete, he's
he's just he transformed throughout this journey into a dance.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
He's a dancer.
Speaker 3 (10:33):
He's a dancer. There's no denying it. This man is
a dancer.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
I mean, if Dylan Efron went on to dance and
be on Broadway, I wouldn't be surprised.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
After this.
Speaker 1 (10:43):
I'm just saying, this man, this man, he is a
Dylan of all trades. He can do anything. I'm convinced
to this point.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
It's true. It's true.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
He's he's just that kind of guy, right, He's just
like that's some my wife and were talk about last
Nay is usually when there's a guy who's like that hot,
they know it and they're like very arrogant and everything.
But like, no, he's just he's he has no ego
about him.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
But he also isn't like, ah, gee whiz, I'm on
an ugly duckling. He doesn't do that. He's just like
he knows that.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
He's like he knows he's attractive, but he's not like,
he's not arrogant and h he's I just I love him.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
I will watch him do anything. I love Dylan Efron.
Speaker 1 (11:27):
Do you think zac Efron is going to make an
appearance in the ballroom in the audience.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
I hope so too. I think that was.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Close they've been over the years. I know I've watched
on social media. I don't know personally, and.
Speaker 2 (11:49):
I hope so.
Speaker 1 (11:50):
And I know I know Dylan and someone had asked
him when he said in a press quote, you know,
he's just that Zach is out there just doing his thing.
But I'm like, Okay, maybe he's on a movie somewhere,
maybe he's I just I want him in that ballroom.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
I do too for my.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Own personal sakes.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
I just want to see the two of them together
and I can be like swoon even more over that front.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
Okay, come on, so.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Great, a great dance.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
Something I thought was funny was you know, Flavor, flav
immediately breaking any confidence I had in his judging right
off the bat. He was having like an issue with
We've talked about this, but like I don't know if
there's like an iPad or there's some kind of device
where they submit, like they lock in their their scores.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
We have and I couldn't tell you what it was
because I can't remember.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
You can hear carry Anne like like, oh no, you
have to lock it in, you have to look. And
then like they panned her and like she's like standing
over him like helping him whatever that procedure is. And
I was like, oh man, this is We're gonna be
off to a rough start. And then and then he
gave him a ten and I'm like, okay, here we go,
here we go. Carry and getting booed also for her
for her judgment the People's enemy Carrie Hannanava.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
I know, which she is so wonderful and likable and
who knew that she would become like the villain of
Dancing with the Stars this season.
Speaker 2 (13:14):
They're just like, but you know.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
What she has to what is she supposed to give something?
She has to give critiques, Yes, and there's good, there's bad.
Not everything can be great, but yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:27):
It's so interesting because I like, Cheryl Burke got a
lot of heat last week for doing the same thing,
like not just like lavishing praise on everybody and giving
critiques which I thought were all helpful, and everyone was like,
oh man, Cheryl Brook's going way too hard. On everybody,
and I'm like, this is a competition, okay, right, yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Okay, yeah yeah. Flavor Flav gave the ten and I
was like, oh, okay, this is I rege.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
We're in trouble here. This is going to throw the
whole night off. And in my in the end it did.
But okay, so first ten, that's that's the first ten
they've gotten correct, Yes, show yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
And Dylan was visibly very excited about that ten. He
wanted that ten, yeah, and he got it from from
Public Enemy's Flavor Flav. So next up Alex Earl and
Valschmerkovsky dancing to Live in on a Prayer by bon
Jovi APAs Dooble.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
I love this song, I just do.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
It's so good. It's so good. I love bon Jovi.
Speaker 4 (14:31):
I love that he made a little video for them
in the rehearsal wearing his Hampton Water hat.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
I love.
Speaker 4 (14:40):
I love bon Jovi's Hampton Water And and I didn't
know that Alex, I know she said she's from New Jersey.
Didn't know she was such a proud Garden State person.
She was so pumped to be dancing to this song.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Same.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
I also was not aware, did you know she's only
five foot six.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
I did not know that she appears so tall.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
All I mean, those legs, legs for days.
Speaker 1 (15:03):
But I for some reason I thought she was like
five nine, like, but she's she's a tiny petite thing.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Who knew Powerhouse? Okay, yes, uh yeah, yeah there's three.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
So everyone was concerned because there's three passive do Blaze
being danced?
Speaker 3 (15:23):
Yes from last week?
Speaker 4 (15:26):
Yeah yeah, so I thought that was an interesting thing
to make to make it more you know competitive is like,
uh so that makes me think, like, are they told
which dance to do.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
Or is it chanced?
Speaker 1 (15:46):
So as I can recall from my unfortunate short stint
on the show, Uh, you you're kind of you're given ones,
like I know Pasha would say, like, here's we're gonna
do your what your strongest stat first before we get
(16:07):
to the ones that I don't think are your strength
so you can put in what you want. I am
surprised they allowed three couples to do it, because I
would have thought they would have spread it out.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
Maybe we get they're running out. I don't know.
Speaker 4 (16:25):
Yeah, I knew it was going to be I mean,
this is this just adds for interesting competition here to
see that.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Oh yeah, and pasa dobla is like a strong, yes,
very aggressive dance.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
I am learning this from watching the show that it's
a yes. She in the rehearsal, Alex is like so
locked in and they talked like last week. She was
telling Val like, I want you to push me. I
can take it. Let's go harder and it paid off.
They did really great dance last week and that she's
keeping that momentum going. She is so locked in. Uh,
(17:02):
this dance was great. She had this like long flowing
dress kind of thing, and so every time she did
like a big twirl or like some kind of aerial move,
it would like flow like a like a ribbon or something.
Speaker 3 (17:10):
It was really fun to watch.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
It was, in my opinion, and I'm a huge fan
of her performance in her dancing. I didn't feel it
was her strongest And maybe it's because it's a passive
doblay and I know how really aggressive they want the
females to be in that yeah, and I think that
(17:34):
was lacking a little bit in what I saw on her.
Maybe it is her face or I'm not sure, but everyone,
but who am I to say anything?
Speaker 2 (17:44):
She got look look at the score she got.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
So yeah, exactly.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
I mean, you know what's crazy is it would have
been it would have been straight tens except for flavor.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
Flavor.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
That made me kind of mads. I was like, we
haven't a straight tens this season. It would have been fun.
But he's I'm like, oh man, this again. I'm like,
this is going to be a rough show for him.
Speaker 1 (18:10):
Like, what the heck do you think he was in
his mind like, oh, everyone's like, oh, he gave a
ten right out of the gates, so this time, I'm
just gonna pull back a little bit.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
I think so. But he should have Yeah, I should
have just kept going with that.
Speaker 4 (18:22):
But I think he saw the react because when he
gave the ten to Dylan and Danielle, like the place
went crazy. And I think, like, like in a slightly
confused way maybe, and I think he's like, oh god,
maybe I shouldn't have done Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:32):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
But you know, they they it was a great dance.
They continue to be. You know, we're all I'm doing
the leaderboard in my head as we're going on, and yeah,
it's it's like Alex Whitney, Levitt and Robert Orwin.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
There's a I mean, I agree, you know, except I
think there's a dark horse in this competition and we'll
get to that.
Speaker 3 (18:59):
Oh yeah, oh is it the next our next dancer?
Speaker 2 (19:03):
It is not okay, interesting.
Speaker 4 (19:06):
But our next dancer. Andy Richter, Andy Richtor, the lovable
Andy Rictor of the People's Princess, dancing at contemporary to
God Only Knows by the Beach Boys, A beautiful song,
one of the best songs of old time in my
This was this rehears or the rehearsal like package. I
(19:28):
got very emotional watching it, very emotional.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
I teared up. Andy talking about like.
Speaker 4 (19:35):
The birth that made me like cry was I'm talking
about how like everyone was having a birthday party for him.
Last week was his birthday and everyone there's like people
on social media like having birthday cake and stuff, and
he's like all these people I don't know having a
birthday party for me, and that made me really emotional.
Speaker 3 (19:52):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (19:52):
I'm enjoyed, like I know a lot of people aren't
enjoying how far he's made it. I love it. I
am down with it. I think it's really exciting. Yeah,
toy Spelling doth not agree.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
No, no, no, I think.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
Andy rich you're welcome slightly because I think I was
the version of you last year, except a little bit better.
And I think people were so pissed that, like the
joyous person excited to be there, not a dancer, never
done anything like that got voted off first, that they
(20:34):
were like, Okay, who is that this year? Oh it's
Andy Richter. Okay, we got to keep him. Yeah, but
it's gone take me out of it, it's gone far
beyond it's okay, let's talk technicality.
Speaker 2 (20:48):
At this point, he should not still be here.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
I agree with you.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
I agree with you, and this week it was emotional,
the package, you love, the song choice. I'm now I'm
starting to not just look at the faces and their personality.
I'm starting to look at the feet and I'm like,
it's just not adding up for me, the arms, the feet,
(21:17):
It's starting to not make sense to me, to be honest,
And I love him, and I love though that from
Dancing with the Stars, Andy Richter has reinvented himself. Like,
when this is all said and done, Andy Richter is
(21:38):
loved by people that maybe didn't even know who he
was before, and he is so special to everybody. And
that makes me happy because He's a good person. He's
a talented person, and I look forward beyond Dancing with
the Stars what he will do now career wise, because
I think he can do anything he wants.
Speaker 4 (22:00):
Something I keep thinking about is, like, you know, we
talk the way they judge it a constant topic of
discussion all over this great these great United States. Uh,
and you can't. They're not comparing the dancers to each other.
They're just they're just saying, how was this dance good?
Speaker 3 (22:16):
On its own? As much as I can do that.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
Yeah, And there have been dances from Andy in the past,
many where I would have been where I say, no,
this is not good.
Speaker 3 (22:25):
He is not good.
Speaker 4 (22:26):
However, I'm also wondering is a part of judging this
show because the premise is that these people are not dancing.
I know a lot of people in this crew have
dance experience. These people are not dancers. How are they
taking on this challenge? And especially last night, I think
that he has shown incredible improvement, and I last night specifically,
(22:48):
I think that he I was I think he deserved
the scores he got. I know he's not the best dancer.
I think he has improved significantly from even the last
two weeks. I'm really impressed with that, and because part
of me thinks, like he knows he's got this like
kind of viral fans support. It's it's a kin to
(23:09):
the Bobby Bones season, which you know, and it was
a difficult spot for a lot of hardcore fans.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
But he at least I hope.
Speaker 4 (23:19):
What I when I think he's doing is I can't
get this far on just people wanting this like silly
Teddy Bear to win. Like it's not gonna be a
make a wish thing like it has to be. There
has to be some kind of skill and effort put
into this, and I'm seeing that I don't, you know,
I don't. If he makes it past next week, I
(23:40):
think we're gonna have a real problem on her hands.
Speaker 1 (23:42):
But for sure, he's working his butt off and and
I love their relationship. Emma Slater is one of the
coolest people ever. She's such a champion of everybody that
it really warms my heart to know that this season
she is getting to go this far and show off
(24:05):
her talent as a pro. And yes, okay, so their scores, fine, yeah,
they deserve a seven seven's flavor flavor whatever okay, but
seven's accurate, Okay.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Really quick.
Speaker 4 (24:21):
I also really enjoy it just makes me laugh when
Alfonso is like prompting the judges to speak and we
guess the flavor Flave. He goes Flavor, and that just
was kind of fun to think that, Oh his first
name is Flavor and last name is Flay.
Speaker 3 (24:34):
That's exciting to think about.
Speaker 4 (24:43):
Okay, so we're going from the someone who's consistently at
the bottom of the leaderboard to someone at the top.
Whitney Levitt and Mark Ballas this competition is heating up.
She knows it. She is determined, she is she wants
to win this. You can tell she wants it so bad.
Our second pasta doble of the night from from our
(25:04):
top three from last week. Whitney Levin, Mark Balace dancing
to No More Tears by the late Ozzy Osbourne.
Speaker 2 (25:10):
I didn't know this song.
Speaker 5 (25:12):
I didn't either, Okay, okay, okay, this is gonna be
you know, great tribute and it was one of the
songs I didn't know of his.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
I was shocked.
Speaker 4 (25:24):
It was not Crazy Train or you know. I can't
name any others, but yeah, it was exciting to see
their their costumes are great. Their outfits are so cool,
very edgy and fun.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
They're so good.
Speaker 4 (25:39):
They're so it's just like just leagues above. They they're
just on such a different level. It's it's like, you know,
I don't want to say it's not fair, but it
kind of isn't.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
It's true, I do have to admit I So I
watched it through the first time, and then hearing Carrie
Anne's comments, I went back and watched it and did
see what she saw that the footwork, which is not
typical for Whitney. I feel like, yes, and I can
see it even from when she first came out, almost
(26:11):
like you know, came out with the dancers, and it
was like a misplaced the stumble.
Speaker 2 (26:18):
There were things. So Carrieon's not wrong, No.
Speaker 3 (26:22):
She's not wrong.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
And something it sucked was that she like was she
praises them, You're doing such a good job, but and
then the places goes crazy. No no, no, oh, God
forbid a tiny bit of criticism and what she was
saying was right. She wasn't looking like hard on them,
were bullying them or anything. She's just giving a gentle
piece of constructive criticism. And the place went nuts. But
(26:45):
you know it didn't affect their scores too much. Again
almost straight tens.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
I know.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Yeah, okay. Next we have our girl and our.
Speaker 4 (26:58):
Guy, daniel Fisher, Pasha Pasha Cough dancing at contemporary to
dream On by Aerosmith.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
I love this song, big fan, so good.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Yeah, so good.
Speaker 4 (27:10):
Before really quick, I was I keep forgetting to bring
this up. I keep forgetting. I've been wanting to ask you.
When they announced the the the pairings, I saw Danielle
and Pasha were posting that their their team. To Pasha,
that's their like team name, and I'm trying to remember
what yours was when you were with Pasha.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
Did you We didn't have you did? Okay? Sometimes I
like we.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Tried to think of one and putting my name into it.
It was like, uh, it was like Tokash Tasha to.
Speaker 1 (27:46):
It wasn't working out. And then Pasha was like, don't worry,
we don't have to have a name. But we had
asked fans, but yes, typically people put names.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
So yeah.
Speaker 3 (27:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
My very first like relationship with Dancing with the Stars
was in twenty twenty. I worked on a podcast with
Cheryl Burke and AJ MacLean, who were partners at the time,
and they were Team pretty messed Up.
Speaker 3 (28:10):
That was there.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
That was the name of their podcast, and that was
their like team name. And I remember thinking like, oh,
this is just what they say on the show then
and then like I watched the show and they never
use those names, Like those names are like purely on
social media, not even from the official account, it's like
from the personal one. And I was like, what's the
am I missing something? Like I don't understand the point
of the team name.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
But yeah, I think it was something they thought would
be cool and work and then it didn't and it
kind of still lives on if you wanted to.
Speaker 4 (28:38):
Yeah, So I only know Team Tapasha because I followed
Danielle on social media and I don't really follow many
other people in here anyway. I just wanted to ask
about that, and the fact that you did not have
one just reinforces this theory that they don't really matter.
So Team Tabasha Dancing dream On. We love this song.
It's so good, daniel got it got a lot of
(28:58):
criticism last week, and I know she was trying so
hard into you know, every week they're just kind of
I don't know, they're not being hard on her. I mean,
I think they're I think she's a bit underscored, but
they're all valid critiques and she's she's taking them so
to heart and she's practicing so hard, and you can
see an effort in this dance. I think she did
(29:19):
such a great job.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
I'm starting at this well. I have been thinking the criticism.
I know everyone's like, oh my god, they're so hard
on her, but I agree she does not only take
it to heart, I think it makes her go.
Speaker 2 (29:35):
It drives her.
Speaker 1 (29:37):
Yes, it, so I think it's a good thing. I'm like, gosh,
no one wants that, but it's like it's something that
when she gets it, she's like, Okay, good done, I'm
gonna work on that. And she does every week. So
it's like great, if that's what drives you, cool, Yeah,
so make her a masochist dancing masochist.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
I mean, I think if she was like enjoying it, maybe,
if she was like craving this, like this pressure, maybe
she is.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
We don't know, but yeah, it I'm I don't know.
Speaker 4 (30:14):
I find it very inspiring, and I you know, I
hope that I can someday react to that instead of
getting defensive and assuming everyone else is wrong. When I
get criticism, which is what I want to do, they're
the problem, not me. Uh So, I you know, I
see how hard she's working, and like I do feel
so hard, you know, I feel bad for her because
I can tell she she wants us so badly and
(30:36):
she's working so hard. Because last week they were saying,
like you need to like use a Carrie Ana was like,
you're a small little person. You need to use more
of the of the dance floor and use more of
the space and more of your body. And I think,
and she really blew that up this week. I mean
like she was in the air, she was her arms
were out there. It was really remarkable.
Speaker 1 (30:56):
It was I thought it was a great contemporary. I
thought it was beautifully executed. I thought it was really
well choreographed by Pasha Yes Danielle.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
I thought was phenomenal.
Speaker 1 (31:10):
I was really really impressed and just felt proud, like
proud of this human that came in, Like with no
dancing she isn't right, she has no dancing experience.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
Exactly she has.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
I mean the closest thing is that she knows how
to perform in front of people. But that's that's it nothing,
nothing dancing or musical or anything like that.
Speaker 1 (31:35):
So putting that in there, like hello, this, I cannot
believe how amazing she has done and grown each week.
I mean, if you were going to talk about someone
who has really grown each week, she might be. I
know we talked about Andy has worked and gotten better,
but Danielle, like I feel like Strides just gets better
(31:58):
every single week. I was really I was happy with
their scores.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
Yes, me too, very very high scores. You know, they
haven't gotten a ten yet, but they they did a
great job.
Speaker 3 (32:11):
I I do.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
I don't know if they were talking to Flavor Flavor
during commercial breaks or not, but he was like trying
his best to like be specific about something in the dance,
and he's like, it was great, man. I watched the moves.
I'm looking for the timing. Everything was on point.
Speaker 1 (32:24):
Man.
Speaker 3 (32:25):
I don't care what anyone says. This is a great dance.
Speaker 4 (32:28):
And I'm like, all right, well that's that's something that's
better than just like giving a ten and being like
saying some limerick and moving on.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
So yeah, anyway, it was a great dance. The fog
was really cool too, on the on the dance before
I thought that was awesome. Elaine Hendricks back, she's returned.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
This is this I'm going out on a limb here
and saying she is the dark horse of this competition.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Wow, this human she blew me away last night. Yeah
she really did. And what a comeback.
Speaker 4 (33:05):
Yeah, what a comeback. So I was really everyone was
watching this one very closely because she was out last week.
She was injured, she was in the hospital as the
dance was happening, and I'm like, I bet she can
ride that sympathy like for at least a week. I
think of like she could probably like focus one in
and like still do pretty well because it's like, oh
(33:26):
my gosh, she's back out on the dance floor. How incredible. No,
you would not think that she was ever in any
pain at all.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
I and she looked fan she I mean, gosh, I
don't know.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
I just I told her she's my girl crush for
the season, yes, when I interviewed her, But I just like,
she blows me away each week. I cannot believe this
human is fifty four. First of all, what an inspiration
to all of us that are.
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Like, oh, you know, I'm done hanging out dry.
Speaker 1 (34:02):
It's like no, Elaine Hendricks, Hello, we can all do
anything at this point. But she's just so engaged and
good and I don't know, I think, and you know
what she's They're never in the bottom, are they?
Speaker 3 (34:20):
No?
Speaker 4 (34:21):
No, And you kind of expect them just you know,
like a let's not sugarcoat it.
Speaker 3 (34:27):
Like she's an older person.
Speaker 4 (34:29):
Yes, on the in the in the cast, but she's
never at the bottom.
Speaker 3 (34:32):
But we should mention.
Speaker 4 (34:33):
They danced to Viennese waltz to what the World Needs
Now is Love, Sweet Love Warwick. Yeah, loves such a
such a great dance. The transitions are so smooth. H
something I just want to point out. When they're they
talk to the judges, the judges are just like loving it,
giving her so much praise. She goes up into the
(34:55):
skybox and Emma comes over to hug her boyfriend Alan
Berston and Elaine, and she's like hugging Elaine and putting
her arm around her side and you can sealing kind
of grab Emma's hand like to like I can watch it,
you know, And then Julianne I was like, oh, ohh
let's be careful, be careful, and then Alfons was like,
I was just about to say that too, be careful.
Speaker 2 (35:14):
Like wait, I did not notice this.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
It was it was kind of funny and I like.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Watch, oh, like watch it, like that's her injury.
Speaker 4 (35:22):
Yeah, like she she she pulled something like in her
ribs and and Emma's like hugging it really tightly and
like I would watch out.
Speaker 2 (35:30):
And I thought, they know what you meant.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
I was like, because I thought you meant like she
was being too like touchy with her, Like oh, I
was like, and yes, Alan and Emma her boyfriend and girlfriend.
And I was like, I'm not mad at that throuttle
though I got me either.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
Anyway, I had to.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
I went back to watch it again because I didn't.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
I thought maybe Emma was about to like fall out
of the skybox and they say be careful. I thought,
because that's a funny idea too. But yeah, she almost
reinjured Elaine Hendrix there. Uh but uh yeah, they're they're
there're a couple to watch improving.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
You know, everyone's always like when women hit a certain age,
you can't trust a certain way, you can't wear certain makeup,
and you should have shorter hair. Anyway, That's not why
I cut my hair. I was going for something fresh,
but she like, I don't know that. The long hair,
the extensions. This week, I was just like, I'm so
(36:27):
into it. She just looks so good. I'm I love
that woman anyway. I think she might go to the finals.
Speaker 3 (36:34):
I'm just saying, wow, we'll see here first.
Speaker 1 (36:39):
Yeah, imagine I love twist.
Speaker 3 (36:43):
That would be like, but who would have to go
for that to happen?
Speaker 2 (36:50):
I know? Okay, and and and now sorry you have.
Speaker 4 (36:57):
Jordan Childs and Ezras Sosa. Yeah, dancing at Jazz to
River Deep Mountain High by Icon Tina Turner.
Speaker 1 (37:05):
Again, I was super psyched and I was like, I
didn't realize, you know King Tina. I was like, oh
a Tina Turner song. Great, this is gonna be cool.
I when I heard, I'm like, I don't know this
one either.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
You didn't know this song?
Speaker 2 (37:19):
No, you know this song?
Speaker 3 (37:21):
Yes, I do this song.
Speaker 2 (37:22):
Okay, Sorry, I didn't know.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
I wish it was like Big Wheels, Keep on Turning,
Crown a Mary, Keep Bone Burn, and.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Uh it was.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
It was a lot of fun. It's such a high
energy song. Jordan's like, uh, her, the costume, the hair,
everything looks so good.
Speaker 3 (37:41):
It was. It was so fun to watch there.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (37:44):
They in the package, the Whostal package. They talked about
harness Gate last week.
Speaker 1 (37:48):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (37:48):
She she was dresed as like a mummy and they
were wearing this harness. They didn't utilize it that well.
And uh, I think Jordan was kind of frustrated that
Asro was like pushing for this harness and then it
like ended up kind of hurting them.
Speaker 3 (37:58):
Instead of helping.
Speaker 4 (37:59):
Right, but oh man, hurt gymnast skills came into play
in this boy. Wow, that was fun. I don't know
if that was a triple backlip or a quadruple, but
like she started off with, does it made me dizzy
watching her flip that much?
Speaker 3 (38:14):
It was awesome.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (38:16):
And I love when they like incorporate the judges table
into the dance. She got up on the table and
started shaking it right in front of Flavor Flavor.
Speaker 3 (38:25):
It was great to see. I love that.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
It's so funny when when that was happening, I'm like,
what are the judges thinking right now? Like where are
they like wondering where to look? Not look like it's like.
Speaker 4 (38:40):
Yeah yeah, because if it were in a normal situation,
I might like divert my eyes if that were happening
to me.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
But watch you.
Speaker 1 (38:50):
But I guess they're just like looking at the feet,
looking at Oh my god. Anyway, they're great, big fans
of THEIRS. I remember coming into this thinking I didn't
know what to make of Jordan, and then her journey
I was in. I really fell in love with them.
(39:11):
And this is just my opinion. It wasn't my favorite
dance of THEIRS. Well it didn't feel like it was
the strongest, but.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
Yeah, I think not not. The last week, the Wicked
Dance was very good. Yeah, but this one kind of
falls in the middle for me as well. I did
really love it, but they've there. There were a couple
where I always forget, Like when I see them come
up next, I'm like you and then like then they
dance and I'm like, oh god, they're so good.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
Okay, this week was like huge fans of THEIRS, and
I I felt in general that this week for everybody,
even the ones that are outstanding, I don't know if
they're starting to get tired, if the pressures. I felt
like everybody was a little off their game slightly.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
Is that fair to.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Say, Yeah, that's fair to say.
Speaker 2 (40:08):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (40:10):
It's weak eight and they're doing team dances and it's
it's it's exhausting.
Speaker 3 (40:16):
Yes, it is, it really is.
Speaker 4 (40:21):
They got great scores though, two tens from Cann and
Flavor Flave the king of the ten, hanging them out.
Derek and Bruno gave him a nine. Yeah, I mean
the judges loved it, so we'll see.
Speaker 3 (40:35):
I know.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
That's why I feel like I'm like a jerk here
for like being like everybody's a little week.
Speaker 2 (40:41):
This week, eh week this week.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
And then you know they're getting nine and tens, so
it's like, am I missing something?
Speaker 3 (40:50):
No, I know what you're saying.
Speaker 4 (40:52):
I feel like, you know, I think they were scoring
like really low in the first part of the season
and that like no, yes.
Speaker 2 (40:59):
And I think they do that strategically to like amp
people up, like we're not going to come out of
the gate. Yes, I think it could be bad.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
But and I think I'm just looking at the faces
and the energy and reading people's energy, and I feel
like everyone's a little tired.
Speaker 2 (41:18):
That's it.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
Yeah, I get it, as they should be.
Speaker 4 (41:28):
At the end of Jordan and Ezra's time with the judges,
they made an announcement that I would delighted me for
the rest of the show is that some of the
Los Angeles Dodgers were in attendance. They were sitting there,
Will Smith and a couple other guys whose names I
can't remember, but and they did a dance with the
troop as I've been calling it the Talent show, doing
a tribute to the Dodgers winning the world series, Go Dodgers,
(41:52):
Go Blue. And every time after that they would cut
to the Dodgers in the audience, and I have never
seen a more board set of men.
Speaker 3 (42:00):
They were so.
Speaker 4 (42:02):
Like they were basically just scrolling on their phones. They
looked so not into it, and it made me laugh
every time. I could not wait to see more of
the Dodgers, just like having it. At one point they
had to hold the trophy too, the hold the World
serious trophy, just like looking straight faced into.
Speaker 2 (42:15):
The camera, Like, how much longer is this show?
Speaker 3 (42:17):
Oh God, I don't want to be.
Speaker 1 (42:19):
Here, Honestly, For people sitting in that audience, it's it's
long and it's exhausting.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
Yeah, it's a lot of apl you have to applaud
for so long.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
Yeah, I remember my youngest kid, Bo said he came
the first week, and then the second week he goes,
I'm really proud of you and I really enjoy it.
Speaker 2 (42:43):
Can I just watch it from TV at home? Though,
I was like, Nope, you're coming.
Speaker 4 (42:51):
It's uh, you know, I would obviously, I would love
to go to a to a taping. I've been trying
my damnedest to go, but I've been hearing from people
because I'm know and so many people that have gone
for Daniel Official saying that it's a much better experience
to watch at home because you get the different You
get to see that they're playing to the camera, and
you get to see those angles, and if you're in
(43:11):
the audience, especially if you're not like right there on
the dance floor, it's kind of hard to like see
everything that's happening and.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
Then see true.
Speaker 4 (43:16):
Yeah, I'm just try to make myself feel better for
not having it's better at home.
Speaker 3 (43:21):
It's better in my comfort of my own home.
Speaker 1 (43:23):
Should we ask Elaine if she'll get if she'll get
his tickets to go?
Speaker 3 (43:27):
Yes? Yes, be sure you and I should go? Uh?
Speaker 4 (43:32):
Anyway, Yeah, great job Jordan and Asra. Next up, Robert
Irwin and Whitney Carson.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
Uh, the third Dobla third.
Speaker 4 (43:43):
Dancing to Icky Thump by the White Stripes. I did
not know this song. I thought they were going to
dance to seven Nation Army. They did not dance to
one of the This is still a big White Stripe song,
but I didn't know it.
Speaker 1 (43:54):
I love the White Stripes. I didn't know this one.
I'm like, what is happening tonight? I was those sights
for all these like.
Speaker 3 (44:02):
Right, like classic like rock songs and stuff.
Speaker 4 (44:04):
For her, it's like, oh okay, something in the rehearsal package.
Or this one I really liked was Whitney's being really
hard on Robert. She knows that they are at the top,
they have a target on their back. They need to
step up their game, and she keeps saying, like like
they did. They showed a clip where Robert's like kind
of goofing around a little bit, and she's like, you
think Mark is laughing right now, you think VAL's laughing
(44:26):
right now?
Speaker 3 (44:26):
No, they're practicing.
Speaker 4 (44:28):
And that I there's a movie called Pumping Iron that
I've seen a trillion times with Arnold Schwarzenegger and it's
so good and there's a part in uh in Pumping
Iron where Luke fur Ignot is trading for the mister
Olympia and his like his dad is screaming at him.
He's like, you want to be he's doing he's doing
(44:48):
seated rose, He's doing like lat rose, and he's like,
you want to beat Arnold.
Speaker 3 (44:51):
He's like, I want to beat Arnold. I want to
beat Arnold and I it.
Speaker 4 (44:55):
Reminded me of that, and I kind of love that
like frantic, furious energy that goes into training for something.
Speaker 3 (45:01):
That made me really excited.
Speaker 4 (45:03):
Because Robert's a sweetie, a sweetie, he's a cool guy,
but he also wants to win, you know.
Speaker 1 (45:07):
So he loved their relationship. I watched them on other
podcast shows.
Speaker 2 (45:14):
Which they do ours. Oh I think Whitney's coming on.
Speaker 1 (45:20):
But.
Speaker 2 (45:22):
I don't know. I just love their friendship, Like, yeah.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
I do too.
Speaker 4 (45:28):
I love them They've I've gotten to meet Whitney a
couple of times, and she's so nice and I think
I may have told this before, but she she came
on a podcast I worked on years ago and I
had to plug in a pair of headphones for her
and the plug was like she was sitting in a
stool and it was like kind of between her legs
and I like the back of my hand grazed her
thigh and I was like so embarrassed and I felt
(45:49):
so bad and she didn't care. But like I still
I still harbor that shame for inappropriately touching Whitney cards
and by accident.
Speaker 3 (45:58):
Wow, but I just want to make that known.
Speaker 2 (46:00):
Here a lucky guys. She's so hot and so cool.
Speaker 1 (46:05):
She's just cool cool, a wife and a mom and
a boss, and she has product lines and merch and
she's just a really hard worker.
Speaker 2 (46:15):
Yeah, and I admire that.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
It's great and typically sorry sorry, typically with the Pasa
doble ay, it is the male that leads, yes, so
you know they make the reference. I think Mark Ballast
made the reference that the male is the matador, the
(46:38):
male professional, and the female partner is the.
Speaker 2 (46:42):
Kate kind of of sorts.
Speaker 1 (46:44):
Yes, I always thought it was bull but he said, no,
the bulls just life.
Speaker 2 (46:49):
Does that mean like bullshit? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (46:51):
But so we have Val being the matador who's a pro.
We have Mark being a matador who's a pro, and
then we have Robert who has to be the matador
and he's just the celebrity. Yeah, so the star friggin kudos,
Robert Irwin.
Speaker 3 (47:08):
Boom, Yeah, incredible, incredible.
Speaker 4 (47:13):
The every this dance had like a lot of like
poses and they hit each of them so hard and
it was so fun to watch. And he did this
like knee walk thing at the beginning too. That was like,
it was so appressive, it was so cool, so cool.
Speaker 3 (47:25):
This guy is so good.
Speaker 2 (47:26):
Oh my god, that knee walk thing.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
I was crushing on him. I know I shouldn't. I
think I looked him up and he's twenty one. That's shaming,
but I was like, wow, yes, yeah, you know her
her choreography, Whitney Carson's choreography is brilliant, always brilliant every season.
She is just so talented. But there were times in
(47:53):
this season where they said, you know, he wasn't being fluid.
He was hitting the poses and then going to a
next one. This was he hit these poses, but it
was fluid the whole dance. So I was really proud
at that moment.
Speaker 2 (48:07):
Proud. Why am I proud?
Speaker 3 (48:08):
Well, I mean, you know, we're watching these people on
his journey. I understand. I feel proud of them.
Speaker 4 (48:13):
Took you know, he's another one that like has he said,
I don't have any dance experience right, like he is
not He didn't take dancing growing up or anything like that.
We I talked to I'm not going to name her here,
I don't want to out her, but I talked to
another person who competed on Dancing with the Stars in
the past. Yeah, and she says she she does not
(48:34):
believe for a second that he has had no dance experience.
She thinks he is a secret pro.
Speaker 3 (48:41):
He's too skilled, he's too good.
Speaker 2 (48:44):
At least took I just on my mic I'm very
passionate there.
Speaker 1 (48:49):
He at least took gymnastics, like yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (48:55):
Was that so? When I know Bendy one as well.
Speaker 3 (48:58):
Yes, no dancing.
Speaker 2 (49:00):
Experience for her either, not that I know of. Okay,
you know what, No, no, no, no, something's off here.
Speaker 3 (49:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (49:07):
I think they're down there in the Australia, like the
von Trapp family singers just making their kids do like.
Speaker 2 (49:12):
Drills, such a good yes, yeah, you know you know that.
Speaker 4 (49:21):
Aside, it's very fun to watch and he's just and
he's just such such a great attitude and like you
can't not like him.
Speaker 2 (49:28):
He's so such a.
Speaker 4 (49:31):
Oh and flavor Flav called him the brand new fred
Astaire and I have to agree.
Speaker 3 (49:38):
So he's so good.
Speaker 4 (49:40):
Yeah, Flavor Flavor Bruno handed out of ten Carrie, Anne
and Derek with a nine.
Speaker 3 (49:45):
Great great scores. There. The team dances are next.
Speaker 2 (49:57):
Okay, here we go.
Speaker 4 (49:58):
Oh boy, uh, you know, I have not seen a
team dance yet. I was really curious how this is
gonna work. It's really cool to see Alfonso and Julianne
participate though.
Speaker 2 (50:12):
Yes, that was my favorite part.
Speaker 4 (50:15):
So first up we have Team Chicago dancing to Chicago.
This dance was incredible.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
I loved it. Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (50:28):
It At first I thought like, oh, because they do
the Carlton at the end, you know, like the dancing
fresh prints, and I was like, oh, that's okay, you're
pulling that out, you know it. It was fun and
everyone loved it and it worked it true what they
wanted it to do. I did see Whitney counting very aggressively,
which I thought was funny, and my wife Allison was like, well,
(50:52):
Whitney's the day. She is like the dancer of this team.
She's probably trying because that was the part where there
were no pros. It was just them and Alfonso and
so Allison was like, that's Whitney trying to help everybody,
like stay in time, like she was like her you
couldn't hear her, obviously, you could see her, like her
mouth was wide, like she was saying something. I assumed
it was counting. But that's my only note.
Speaker 1 (51:13):
Really, Yeah, so definitely counting, because I remember when I
came back for the finale, we got to do like
a little mini team dances, like and.
Speaker 2 (51:25):
Who was in charge? But it was who did our counting?
Speaker 1 (51:30):
I think it was gen Tran, but it was like
when we did our posts, she would just be like, okay,
four three two, it was like our final pose up
in the thing, like yeah, so definitely Whitney was counting.
Speaker 2 (51:47):
I thought it was great.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
I love I love the outfits, of course, I just I.
I was visibly audit audibly cheering during this. I was like, yes,
my kids, okay, okay, I'm like, yep, yep having fun here.
Speaker 4 (52:03):
Well, I loved it. I loved it, and uh and
the judges did too. It's a perfect score. A perfect score, amazing.
It was so fun to see that. Unfortunately not the
same for the other team. Team cool cool yeah, uh
we and we should say in case, and I look
to think there are certain people out there that are
not watching the show. They're just listening to this podcast,
(52:24):
So any of the information on the information they're getting
is from us. And for those people in case you
didn't watch, Uh, the Team Chicago is Daniel Official, Whitney Lovett,
Jordan Chiles, Dylan Ephron. Team Cool had Alex earl Andy Richter,
Robert Or when they're associated pros and Julianne Huff uh
joining them for a celebration by Cool in the gang.
(52:45):
Uh this one, Uh, you know, like I enjoyed the
rehearsal more than the dance of this one for some reason,
Like I really liked watching them all like interact and
like get along and like this is you see them
up in the skybox like cheering each other, but you
don't get to see them like actually working together.
Speaker 2 (53:02):
And Elaine Hendrix and.
Speaker 4 (53:04):
Elaine Hendrix, Yes, Elaine was part of this too. Uh
And Uh, I enjoyed watching this part of the rehearsal package,
like seeing them all kind of yeah, practicing together.
Speaker 3 (53:12):
That was really fun. The dance was fine. It wasn't bad,
it was just it was fine.
Speaker 1 (53:17):
It was so who choreographs. It all the pros or
they pick one pro I missed.
Speaker 3 (53:26):
I don't know if they Oh, okay, do you have
an answer?
Speaker 1 (53:34):
I believe So it's actually none of the pros. It's Molly,
who's the whole head and there's another brilliant man.
Speaker 4 (53:47):
Yes, okay, So they're taking the choreography out of the
like team itself.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
It's just it's correct, like staff. Sorry sorry, yes, yes, yes,
it was okay. I got their costumes hurt it a
little bit. Yeah, I don't know, just it was.
Speaker 2 (54:04):
So fierce that the Team.
Speaker 1 (54:07):
Chicago, like the costumes, the dance, it was just like
m it just killed it. Yeah, that it was a
little bit like, eh, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (54:18):
Yeah, I'm with you. As you know, they did okay,
thirty eight out of forty. Yeah, but man, it's hard
to deny a perfect score.
Speaker 3 (54:26):
Oh my god.
Speaker 4 (54:27):
So they take those scores and apply it to everybody
everyone else's and I'm trying to I was having a
hard time following Alfonso. He could explain this a couple
times throughout the show, but it was is it the
highest scoring couple of the night was going to get
immunity from the team dance relay next.
Speaker 2 (54:45):
Week, there was if they survived, If.
Speaker 4 (54:48):
They survive, I was like, oh man, I had to
get my chalkboard out. I was having a hard time
following that. But it means something good for next week.
I'm excited about that. But now it's time to.
Speaker 3 (54:58):
It's not time for eliminate the worst part of the name.
Speaker 2 (55:01):
So wait, who got it? Who got immunity?
Speaker 3 (55:03):
I think it was it was Alex and Alex Yeah,
I think so.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
Did they ever officially say it?
Speaker 3 (55:11):
I don't believe they did.
Speaker 2 (55:12):
They ran out of.
Speaker 1 (55:13):
Time, they were This has been a consistent thing. Yes
on the show.
Speaker 2 (55:20):
I am I right? Or am I wrong?
Speaker 1 (55:22):
Know?
Speaker 3 (55:23):
They's not a hard time.
Speaker 1 (55:25):
I think it's because Carrie, Carrie In's she talks a
lot this season to the point, and then you know Flavor,
flav was talking a lot, and then the scores.
Speaker 2 (55:36):
So this week I understood it.
Speaker 1 (55:38):
But I feel like in previous seasons the critiques and
the praise are very a little more concise, and I
just feel the energy of Alfonso and Julianne having to
be like good through it fast.
Speaker 3 (55:53):
Yeah, let's keep on moving here. Uh.
Speaker 4 (55:56):
Whitney and Alex were tied for the highest score, and
but the tie was broken I believe by the team dance.
And then it went to Whitney Love It. So she
gets immunity for the team dance relay for the relay
dances next week.
Speaker 2 (56:14):
Really like it's a relay race.
Speaker 3 (56:16):
I get.
Speaker 4 (56:16):
I don't know what that means, but I don't there,
and then bonus points towards next week's twentieth birthday party
celebration episode.
Speaker 3 (56:24):
Uh so we're down to.
Speaker 1 (56:27):
Like she needs bonus points, yeah, give it to someone
who needs it.
Speaker 2 (56:31):
Yeah, okay, So elimination.
Speaker 4 (56:35):
The eliminations, uh so tough Bottom three Whitney Love It
and Mark Ballas. I think this is residual punishment for
the giveaway thing. I'm still going to throw that out there.
Speaker 2 (56:48):
Two weeks in a row. Sorry, but there is no
shot in hell there in the bottom three.
Speaker 1 (56:54):
I don't what what is happening.
Speaker 3 (56:59):
It would be.
Speaker 4 (56:59):
So I was talking to a friend who's like a
big fan, and I was saying the same thing, and
I'm like, oh it not a million years are they
going to get eliminated?
Speaker 1 (57:08):
You know?
Speaker 4 (57:08):
But she was My friend was saying, Whitney has a
lot of haters there. She could she because she was
a villain on the Desperate The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Speaker 2 (57:22):
Everyone loves a villain.
Speaker 4 (57:23):
Everyone does love a villain. I love a villain. I
love Whitney. But there's a lot of people that don't
like her. And while unlikely, there is a version of
this where she gets like no votes from the from
the audience and she gets eliminated, you know, like that
might happen, I know, extremely unlikely, but still a possibility
and a very very funny outcome if you ask me.
But but also not what's going to happen here? Whitney
(57:47):
love it and Mark Paust the second week in a
row in the bottom three. Uh you know, we say
bottom three of quotes also Andy Richter and Emma Slater
and Daniel Fischal and Pasha Pashkav.
Speaker 3 (57:57):
Yes, those two makes sense.
Speaker 1 (58:01):
Yeah, yeah, And we were at that point in the
program where the floating in the middle are going to
start to go home, and consistently they've said, you know,
while Danielle has made such progress, she and Pasha have
kind of stayed in the middle zone throughout them.
Speaker 4 (58:21):
Yeah, and when you're consistently in the middle, eventually that
middle becomes the bottom because everyone else at the bottom.
Speaker 3 (58:26):
It's very sad to save. That's just how numbers work.
Speaker 4 (58:29):
So then we we we find out that Whitney and
Mark are saved, Andy and Emma are saved.
Speaker 3 (58:37):
Danielle and Pasha.
Speaker 2 (58:39):
And our girl and our guy went home.
Speaker 4 (58:42):
I was sad to see this same but you know,
I knew it was gonna it was going to come
at some point.
Speaker 3 (58:48):
I was obviously I want her to win the whole thing.
Speaker 4 (58:50):
She's a friend, but I you know, it's there's just
such the talent on this season is so in the stratosphere,
just so out there. It's crazy. It's going to be
such a hard competition for them. So sorry, Danielle, do
you think.
Speaker 2 (59:08):
Each week Andy just goes home when he's like what
is happening?
Speaker 1 (59:15):
Still standing, like still dancing what he couldn't have ever
fathomed that he would. It's going into week nine, this
is like unheard of for someone of his caliber.
Speaker 4 (59:29):
It's like, I'm looking at who's left, and like, next week,
let's look, I mean, who's gonna go.
Speaker 3 (59:36):
It's crazy it has to be him.
Speaker 4 (59:37):
I'm sorry, but like if Elaine gets sent home over him,
I'm gonna be so mad. Who are like just like
I think it's it's gotta be between like Andy Elaine
and Dylan.
Speaker 2 (59:48):
I think, Oh, I disagree.
Speaker 1 (59:50):
Yeah, I think next week it's gonna be between Andy
Elaine and.
Speaker 3 (01:00:01):
Wow. I can't wait to see. I can't wait to
see what happens next week.
Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
And I think Andy Richer' is probably gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:00:09):
Stay yeah wild, But you know what, it's making for
some fun TV because it's changing up everything that everyone's
like still like talking about it, like what, oh my god.
Speaker 4 (01:00:22):
Okay, by no means do I think anything is rigged here.
There's no fingers on any scales. But this is a
reality show that is meant to entertain, you know, like
if it's not, we're not voting for an elected official
or anything like that. So it is exciting to see
how this goes.
Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
We screwed if that was the case here.
Speaker 4 (01:00:40):
Yeah, I don't think we're far off from having a
politician beyond Dancing with the Stars and then they get
public office at the end of the the show. I
think that's something that's gonna happen to us. But I
can't wait to see what happens. Next week is the
twentieth birthday for Dancing with the Stars.
Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
That's wild.
Speaker 4 (01:00:55):
That's gonna be a lot of fun, and we can
reveal here. At the end of the show, they said,
our guests is a big surprise. We're gonna reveal it
on Good Morning America the next day. This is the
next day Good Morning America has aired. We know who
it is. It's going to be Tom Bergeron, the former
host Dancing with the Stars.
Speaker 2 (01:01:12):
I did not watch Good Morning America this morning. You
just reveal it to me.
Speaker 4 (01:01:17):
Oh my god, I can exclusively reveal a tory spelling.
It's gonna be Tom bergeron.
Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
I'm super pummed. I love that man.
Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
That's gonna be a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (01:01:27):
It was su great guy, such a good guy he is.
Speaker 4 (01:01:30):
He's just uh, he's so cool. It was fun, so
fun seeing Cheryl Burke come back. And I love that
Tom is back. It's gonna be It's just fun to
see these like classic mainstays of the show returning to
the ballroom, even just for a night.
Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
It's a lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (01:01:45):
Oh I love that. Okay, and.
Speaker 1 (01:01:48):
Oh, twentieth anniversary next week. But what is the theme.
It's not we can do it.
Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
Oh, I mean I like this.
Speaker 4 (01:01:56):
Yeah, I'm curious what songs are gonna where the songs
are going to sing, what songs are going to dance
to next week, because it could be anything. I don't
know if they're going to do like songs from their
favorite dances from the twenty years or what. But it's
a big birthday party on Dancing with the Stars and
we'll be seated and we'll be watching.
Speaker 1 (01:02:17):
That'll be fun. Okay, there you have it. Good to
be back, and let's misstep out of here.
Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
Bye bye,
