coffee maker? Literally with an arms length and you don't want.

So I get up, I let him out, and she
never wants to go when he goes, so I go back.
Sometimes I get back in bed right if it's six
o'clock in the morning, and I lie down for about
another ten minutes. Then she comes over like, okay, I'm
ready now. And this morning was one of those mornings
when I was like, you little bit, I know, like

I do not have time for this. Yeah, So I
started with coffee at six thirty this morning, okay six
thirty this morning, and then I had to have another one.

And that's why my third cup, I'm like, do I
really need it?

No, because it's gonna require me to get up out
of this comfortable seat and make it.

had all the drama. Like usually the WNBA got all
the drama own, messy Mondays and sh this week it was.

And she just turned around and started going off like,

Both teams have clinched, but the position of the number

of days ago, and last in the most recent matchup

for New York, they have now clinched a playoff spot
as well, So one, two, three, four, five is locked up.
Where things get interesting is six, seven and eight.

Currently, the Valkyries are sitting at number six, the Seattle
Storm is sitting at number seven, the Indiana Fever is
sitting at number eight, and the Los Angeles Sparks are.

Los Angeles Sparks are right there on Indiana's head. They
are a game out of taking the eight spot, so
they're still very much alive in this matchup, and they're
on a two game win streak and Indiana is on

very well. Yeah, so they could they could trying to
be the spoiler. They are there.

necessarily the entirety of the playoff picture, because I think
we pretty much assumed where certain teams were gonna fall.
But I think it's also fair to say that there

currently in seven and eight that we got some real
concerns about.

To Indiana, they've been dealing with some devastating injuries. No Caitlin,
no Sydney, no Airy, no Sophie is up there. They
didn't add it Otysey siums, they didn't added aerial powers.

there's a lot going on with with with the Indiana
and it's understandable that they would have taken some ls
try like and I mean over the course of this
part of the season, not necessarily over the last couple
of weeks, but just it's understandable that they would have
had that they would have dropped because for the most
part they were sitting firmly like fourth and fifth this season,

and then after the All Star break is where it
started to get a little crazy. So there's that Seattle,
I think surprises the hell out of me. I don't
know what to make of this Seattle team. I don't
know what to make of his sists because I look
at the roster, and the roster should tell me on

paper that this should be a top four, top.

And I see them lose to Connecticut, I see them

But why this devastates me is because I am a
fan of Noel Quinn at head coach. I am a
fan of Noel quill lover dealery and we you and

season as it relates to the changes in head coaching
and how women are not hired in the open positions,
how black women have somehow vanished from the head coaching world.
And the only and longest tenured outside of Cheryl Reeve
head coach in the league is probably about to have

love them, But as a black woman who played the game,
who now just is a fan and watches a game,

little bit in advance, and both of these games will

so we'll see if they actually do pull it out

or not. But both of those games are winnable as
they are losable, specifically the game against Golden State.

But something is not right and I am highly surprised
at this team sitting in the number seven spot and

for me with New York, right I know at the

you want to get your players back, get everybody healthy.

But that's a very winnable game for Seattle.

It is it is, it is. It is a winnable
game for Seattle. But that might be the one game
where I'm like, that could go either way because it
really just depends on which New York team shows up, right,
And I don't necessarily mean the players on the court,
because I didn't seen Stewie and JJ and them be
on the court and not look well like still look

like they're trying to find a rhythm. So that's a
winnable game, but it could go either way. Golden State, however,
what I don't know about that one being a winnable
game because they're fighting for a playoff position too, Like

they're not locked into the sixty. So like these are
games that matter, Like these two games are games that matter.
They're not just frivolous games to close the season out.
They actually all have playoff implications for the teams that
Seattle is playing. That's dangerous for Seattle, Like you'd have
been better off just having a team with nothing to lose.
You got teams that really got something on the line.

Yeah, that are that are coming in knowing we gotta
win this game.

We gotta win this game, right, and you go, and
then you got La that's out there that just beats you,
but are out here trying to fight to take somebody spot, right,

mental aspect of where they are right now, just mentally,
you know, even if you get in, like I don't

know what your chances are at a deep run. And
that's unfortunate because Neka to me has had an incredible season.
Oh my gosh, she had oh my god, just like
not talked about enough, I mean, and part of that
is part of the inconsistency of Seattle, which is why
but not talked about enough Knicka ball this year.

But since listen, listen, if you're Seattle, you can't go
into Minnesota down by twenty in the first half and
you come back and you beat Minnesota on their home court.

The thing though, they play some playoff teams. So they

They play Vegas, which is a play like. They the
only non playoff team that they have left on their schedule.

It's not about the matchup though, because I think they
could still they could still pull off some WS against
these teams. I mean, Atlanta's got a lot of games
in these last few weeks. Told you they play Connecticut twice.

They got a decent little schedule, so they could be tired,
you know, they might want to want to rest.

Who knows, but some fatigue could play a role there.

But at the end of the day, it's the Phoenix
in Vegas matchup that's interesting to me. If they clinch
then if they've already clinched, but I'm sorry if they
like clinch their seating. Those are probably the two teams
that I wonder if they will play everybody or you know,
whatever happens there.

And they might given that they know that la.

Is still trying to get in, so they might be like, no,
like we need the we need the competition. I don't
know they Vegas is just like Phoenix in a way
of trying to make sure that they let their stars

coffee maker? Literally with an arms length and you don't want.

You don't understand. It isn't arms lengths, but it's a process.
Like I gotta get up, I gotta put.

Cake cup, all the things, and I'm comfortable. How I'm
just comfortable in my seat right now. So I'm gonna
just sit here and drink my water and watch you

These are first world problems. I want you to It's

I've had one cup, but I usually I usually have
about three cups of coff Wow, And well let me
tell you why. So my dogs, right like, they sleep
in my room, not my bed.

They cannot be in my bed, but they sleep in
my room. And the crazy ass thing is so the
boy dog, he's the first one up every morning.

So around six o'clock he comes to my side and
he never goes to my husband's side unless I'm out
of town. Anyway, he comes to my side and the
first bark is like this, right, like, are you awake?
If I don't respond, the second bark is so I

usually lay there until he gets to the third one,
and then the third one is the like.

Gitchow ass up me at all?

So I get up, I let him out, and she
never wants to go when he goes, so I go back.
Sometimes I get back in bed right if it's six
o'clock in the morning, and I lie down for about
another ten minutes. Then she comes over like, okay, I'm
ready now. And this morning was one of those mornings
when I was like, you little bit, I know, like

I do not have time for this. Yeah, So I
started with coffee at six thirty this morning, okay six
thirty this morning, and then I had to have another one.
Speaker 3 (05:29):
And that's why my third cup, I'm like, do I
really need it?
Speaker 1 (05:33):
No, because it's gonna require me to get up out
of this comfortable seat and make it.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
Okay.

Now, when you add the additional contexts, it makes sense.
I probably too would be like forget this cup of coffee.
I'm also the one that will door dash a cup
of coffee. Don't judge me, I absolutely will. I will
absolutely see here not lazy. Then. Now listen, but we
weren't to We weren't talking about me. We were talking about.

So DoorDash ruined ruined my life. Unless DoorDash wants to

had all the drama. Like usually the WNBA got all
the drama own, messy Mondays and sh this week it was.

be somewhere. I don't know if you're gonna be in
New York. I don't know if you're gonna be in Vegas.
I don't know where we're gonna be, but you we
got to catch you somewhere.

Well, probably Vegas, just because it's Vegas.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
And that's an easy trip for me.
Speaker 1 (40:47):
That's a real short trip for me from home to Vegas.
Speaker 3 (40:52):
But I was up in Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (40:56):
I was gonna say, it could be Atlanta or Phoenix. Oh, fick,
I need to we can go to Phoenix and go
kick it with our good sister, Cindy Brunson say fast.
Speaker 3 (41:12):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
I don't think I've ever seen a game in Phoenix
as a fan.
Speaker 3 (41:17):
Every time I'm in Phoenix is for work.
Speaker 1 (41:19):
No, we need to figure that out. We need to
figure it out. I'm looking at my schedule. We're gonna
make it happen. Where am I going and where are
you going? We're going together.
Speaker 3 (41:32):
I know right like it's gonna I need to go.
Speaker 2 (41:35):
And record a live episode wherever we're I have I
have no doubt that there will be a live episode
opportunity at some point in this playoffs because we got
to beat it. We got to be in the place,
we got to be in the building, So a live
episodes got to happen somewhere about from somebody at some point.
I don't know if it's gonna be the finals in
(41:56):
my finals, I do, I will say, though, I do
miss the day where semi finals and stuff used to
be in Chicago. Chicago, y'all got to get back good again,
because when I tell you.
Speaker 3 (42:07):
You got like the postseason atmosphere and win. Trust was fun.
Speaker 1 (42:11):
Like I need y'all to bring That's what I love
about Vegas. Like the atmosphere is.
Speaker 3 (42:17):
Is there, it is, it is there, it is that.
Vegas is wild. Vegas.
Speaker 2 (42:25):
Vegas is wild like you can only you know why.
I'm cool with that because I haven't been for a
couple of years. It felt like we were over saturated
with Vegas. Not the team, but just like having to
fly out there. There was All Star and there was
the playoffs and there I was like, damn in Vegas
like every other months. My god stuck, but I've stopped it.
It was a bunch. It was a bunch, but I

haven't been there. I haven't been here in a year now.
So it's what's time for me to make my parents
a Vegas.
Speaker 3 (42:53):
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (42:54):
But yes, everybody listen, the w NBA playoffs and postseason
is going to be a lot of fun. Everybody needs
to be tuned in, Everybody needs to be locked in,
just so that everyone's aware. The postseason officially begins on Sunday,
September fourteenth, so the regular season ends on the eleventh.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
People got time.
Speaker 2 (43:19):
To figure out who's going where, what's doing what get
your schedules together, and then the playoffs officially begin on
September fourteenth.
Speaker 3 (43:28):
Now, I'm gonna just be real with y'all.

I'm probably gonna miss the first day of the playoffs
because my husband surprised me with tickets to the Coats game,
and that is on September fourteenth. So I will be
in Indianapolis watching the Indianapolis coach, drunk as hell.

Screaming for my football team. That's what I'll be doing.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
I will be catching up on I'll watch all the
games that come on before four p but once kickoff happens,
y'all got the holler at me at about nine o'clock
long as.
Speaker 3 (44:07):
Long as I don't need to bring no bail money.
You don't need to bring no bail money.
Speaker 2 (44:12):
Could But like I'm just being real, don't y'all tweet
me talking about what you think about the I don't know, sis,
I'm drunk watching football.

so keep it locked into more w NBA action and yeah,
let's go ahead and level this thing off.

We've had an incredible time talking about women's basketball, as
we always do, look inside, look looking forward to the
excitement of the WNBA postseason, and you know, we about

It kind of goes back to our surface level conversation
about Taylor Towns and you know, I'm sure there's just

She always has a lot of good stuff, and she
posted this on her page and I was like, that's
the one courage is being yourself every day in a
world that tells you to be someone else.

Yeah, that is a perfect segue back to how we
started the show.
Speaker 1 (45:56):
Yeah, yeah, I just I've read that and I was like, oh,
it's so true. And also because you know, lots of
times we look around and we are trying to be
someone else, but we're trying to be someone else because
the world, or society or a person tells us that
we should be. So let me read it one more time.
Courage is being yourself every day in a world that

tells you to be someone else.

Y'all, keep being.
