Speaker 1 (00:05):
Welcome to Music to our Ears, where we share some
interesting tidbits and stories related to our favorite Lingo Kids songs.
All right, Lingo Kids friends, it's time to go outside
and play. It's a beautiful sunny day, the perfect weather

(00:26):
to have fun at the playground. I think I'll come
outside too.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Ah Oh, a.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
Puddle, silly me, I forgot that it rained yesterday. Where
did the rain go? Good question, Billy. Rain is part
of the water cycle. The word cycle means circle. Some
water on Earth travels in a circle up into the air,

(00:56):
moving with the wind, then down onto the earth, and
back up again.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Get it, I'm not sure, not really.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Well, let's look at this puddle. Today is sunny, so
tomorrow the puddle might be gone. Where will it go?
It will dry up, right, Lisa. That's called evaporation. Say
it with me. E vap four ray shun. Tiny amounts

(01:27):
of water go into the air until all of the
water in the puddle is gone. It's happening right now,
even though you can't see it. When the tiny bits
of water are way up in the sky, they cool
and connect together to make clouds. That has a fancy name, too, condensation.

(01:48):
Try that word calm den say shun, excellent.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
See those clouds.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Far far away the gray, don't they y?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
As clouds move across the sky, they pick up more
water from the air. If they get too heavy, the
water starts to drop.

Speaker 2 (02:11):
That's rain.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Ah.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
It's also called precipitation. Come on, say it, pruh si
huh tay shun.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
You got it.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
If it's really cold, snow falls down. Then the sun
warms up the air, the snow melts, and the whole
cycle starts over again. The weather is constantly changing as
it cycles around the planet. Evaporation, condensation, precipitation. We're in

(02:46):
luck today, The weather report says, sunny skies.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
With only a few clouds.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
That music, well, then let's sing a song about different
kinds of weather.

Speaker 4 (02:58):
Ready here, Hello, there's dun dun dunce dun dun.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
