Me too, Well, this practice will help. How about we
just do a quick rehearsal. Okay, let's take it from
the top of the dueling scene again. Remember, Elliot and Lisa,
the pirate jingle is your cue to go on stagey.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
M I uh, what's wrong, Lisa, that's your cue?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
I can't remember my lad Remember the pirate is trying
to take your treasure and you're trying to stop him.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Oh yeah, uh ah, Let go of my treasure, you pirate.
Never mother, take your sword out and gool couch.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
You stepped on my foot.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
That's not part of the play.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Elliott. Oh sorry, Lisa, it was an accident.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
But I have no sword. I cannot defend myself. Who
will save me?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
That?

Speaker 3 (02:44):
No here, I will give you sapton satin fav. Why
are you speaking gibberish, Cowie. I don't know. I'm just
really nervous. Just keep going. Wow, thank you, Brad, gave
you all. You came just in time.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Arc.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
You will never defeat me. Take that. You weren't supposed
to fall. Elliot. That was an accident too.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Are you okay?

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Elliott? Yeah, I'm okay.

Speaker 4 (03:20):
Okay. Cut let's stop right here. Lisa. You forgot your lines.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Cowie, you're speaking gibberish and Elliott, you're falling asleep and
stepping on toes.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
What's going on?

Speaker 3 (03:33):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
I thought I knew all my lines, but I guess not.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
I was thinking about my lines and didn't see where
I was going.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
I was thinking about the huge audience, and I got
really nervous.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Well, it's normal to feel nervous when you're on a stager,
on camera, speaking or performing to an audience.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
It happens to everyone. It does, Yeah, even to people
who do it all the time.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
So what are we going to do?

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Even professional actors and speakers need to practice a lot
before going on stage.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
It helps them feel more confident about what they are
saying and how they are moving on stage. That makes sense, Well,
the show is tonight. Luckily we still have time to practice.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
Yes.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Aside from practicing, there are also other exercises that actors
use to feel more relaxed and warm up their voices
before a show.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Ooh, can we try you too?

Speaker 1 (04:33):
Sure, First, let's do a breathing exercise that also warms.

Speaker 4 (04:38):
Up the voice. Lingo, kids, listeners, you can try it too.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
Okay, when I tell you, we're going to take a
deep breath through our nose.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
For four secents.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Then we'll let the air out through our closed lips
while singing a note like we're blowing a musical raspberry
like this.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Ooohoo booooo.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Fe Okay, are we ready when I say go, breathe
in through your nose while I count to four. Ready,
go one, two, three, four. Okay, Now blow the air
out through your closed lips.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
Booo.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Well done. Now let's do a different exercise.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
It's a tongue twister that will help you loosen up
your lips so you don't start speaking gibberish in the
middle of a show.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
Okay, we're ready.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Try to say red leather, yellow leather, and then repeat
it several times. Try to say it fast, but make
sure you say it clearly.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Ready, go red leather, yellow leather, red.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
Go slowly at first.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
If you can't say it, the most important thing is
saying it clearly.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Red leather, yellow leather, red leather, yellow leather.

Speaker 4 (06:03):
That's it. Well done. Everyone give yourselves a big clap. Yay,
that was fun. I'm not getting nervous anymore.

Speaker 3 (06:14):
We still need to practice, though, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Let's do a full rehearsal or maybe two or three more.

Speaker 1 (06:22):

Speaker 5 (06:54):
You pirates, never look Papa, take your short out.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
And but I have no sword, I cannot defend myself.

Speaker 3 (07:04):
Who will save me? Have no fear? I will save you.
Oh thank you, brave hero. You came just a time.

Speaker 5 (07:15):

tired arc. I surrender. Oh thank you, hero, you save
the day. Great job, guys.
