Enough about that, let's get too Today's super Live Ay
Lewis story. The story you're about to enjoy was inspired
by Virginia. Thank you so much for your amazing idea.
Virginia was walking over to Levi and Ivy's house, as
she did most days when they got home from school.
They all lived in the same neighborhood and would often
(00:51):
meet up after they had an after school snack to
play in Levi and Ivy's treehouse, ride bikes, or go
down to the park.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
But no matter what they were doing, Virginia always.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Took the op rutunity when walked into their house to
stroll through the garden that sat in the middle of
the neighborhood. It was a magical place, filled with the
most beautiful plants, bushes, and wild flowers. It held a
special place in Virginia's heart because she and her mother
had created it when they moved into the neighborhood.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
It was a hit from the start.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
All of the neighbors took turns helping care for the garden,
and by doing so, they made it bigger, stronger, and
more beautiful every year. Virginia loved all gardens, but this
one was her favorite. She had just helped her mom
and dad plants some beautiful lilac bushes from the year
before and was always excited to check on them to
see how they were doing. Purple and light blue were
(01:37):
her favorite colors, and the lilac flowers always smelled so
sweet and just like she thought, the bushes were doing amazing,
delicate purple and blue clusters of flowers took over every
branch on the bushes, along with vibrant green leaves, and
the smell, wow, it was amazing. Virginia always described lilacs
as smelling like springtime, and she was right. They smelled
(01:59):
fresh and light, and the delightful aroma always seemed to
fill the whole neighborhood as it carried along on a
wispy spring breeze. Hello, milax, Virginia whispered to the bushes,
which had now doubled inside since she and her parents
planted it. You are looking and smelling as lovely as ever.
Virginia twirled through the garden, enjoining all the colors and
(02:20):
scents of the flowers in full bloom. She skipped down
the crushed stone path that wound its way to the exit,
and was just about to leave when she noticed something
under one of the lilac bushes. She's fun around to
see what it was. We certainly can't have any litter
in the garden, thought Virginia to herself as she saw
what looked like a piece of paper. But as she
got closer to it, she noticed it was a picture.
(02:42):
But it wasn't just any picture. It was a really,
really old picture, about the size of a piece of
construction paper, with wrinkled, crinkled, torn edges. And as soon
as she saw what the picture was of, Virginia picked
it up right away. Wow, this is amazing, she said
out loud. Unable to contain her excite. It's the most
enchanting and lovely garden I've ever seen. The picture was incredible,
(03:05):
and every inch of it was filled with the most
amazing colorful flowers, trees, and bushes Virginia had ever seen.
It was clear it was a picture of a garden,
but it didn't look anything like Virginia had ever seen before.
Speaker 2 (03:17):
It looked magical.
Speaker 1 (03:21):
This looks like the gardens that I've seen in my
fairy tale books, thought Virginia. This garden is wonderful, but
I can't imagine that it ever existed anywhere around here.
I wonder where this picture came from. The garden in
the picture was surrounded by a stone wall which was
crawling with ivy and berry vines. Every flower Virginia had
seen or even imagined was in the picture.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
I have to show this to Levi and Ivy, she
said out loud.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
But as she looked up from her picture, she saw
her friends standing right in front of her.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Show us what, asked Levi.
Speaker 1 (03:54):
Is it a cool new flower or some fuzzy bumblebees?
Asked Ivy as she took a spin around the neighborhood garden.
We knew we'd find you here, said Levi. So when
it was getting late and you still weren't at our house,
we headed over. I'm so glad you're here, replied Virginia,
so excited to show her friends what she had found.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
I was just coming over to get you and show
you this.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Virginia held up the garden picture and watched as Levi
and Ivy's eyes grew big and giant smiles spread across
their faces. Isn't it unbelievable? I found it here in
the garden, under one of the lilac bushes I planted,
said Virginia, where do you think it was taken? I'd
love more than anything to visit this garden. Virginia held
up the picture as the rays of the sun shone
(04:38):
on it like a spotlight. Then something amazing happened, something magical.
The picture took the appearance of a mirror, and the
bright sunshine reflected.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
Off it into Virginia and Levi and Ivy's eyes.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
Wow, that's so bright, they all said together as they
covered their eyes. Virginia held the picture tight and decided
to put it in her pocket so she wouldn't lose it.
The light got brighter and brighter, Levi and Ivy grabbed
their friend's hand. I'm sure of what was going to
happen next. It was then that they noticed something unusual
start to happen. It was like the garden was spinning.
(05:12):
They were scared at first, but also very interested to
see what was going to happen. Once they opened their eyes,
they tried to move, but they couldn't. It was like
their feet were rooted to the ground, like they were
plants themselves and part of the garden they were standing in.
They continue to hold hands tightly until all of the sudden,
the light damned and one by one they opened their
eyes to see what had happened, and wow, they were surprised.
(05:36):
Levi opened his eyes first, then Ivy, then Virginia, and standing,
or rather fluttering in front of them were two delightful, dainty,
dazzling fairies. Shouted Levi as he jumped back, falling into
a lilac bush. Fairies exclaimed Ivy and Virginia as they
jumped back as well.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Oh oh no, oh no, please don't.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
Be scared, said one of the fairries. We know you
must be all out of sorts right.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Now, but we're friendly and need your help.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yes, super duper friendly, exclaimed the other fairy, hoping Levi,
Ivy and Virginia wouldn't run away. Please just give us
a second to explain, and everything will make perfect sense.
Perfect sense, said Ivy, sounding surprised and confused.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Nothing about this situation makes any sense at all.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
She's right one second one our neighborhood garden at home,
and next work here, added Levi. And it's all because
Virginia found that picture. Levi looked at Virginia, waiting for
her to talk, but instead she was just too busy
looking around the amazing garden. She twirled slowly as she
tried her heart to take in every little leaf and
(06:43):
flower petal.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
Virginia, are you going to say anything? Asked Ivy.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
Virginia stayed silent for another second, and then with every
out of excitement she could muster, this place is so beautiful,
even better than the picture. I can't believe we're in
a real, live fairy garden with life fairies that they
need our help.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
It's perfect. It's a perfect garden adventure.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
Seeing that their friend was way more excited about the
situation than they were, Levi and Ivy pulled Virginia aside as.
The fairies watched closely, hoping that three humans they had
gotten to visit their garden would stay and help them.
Speaker 2 (07:19):
We need to help them.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Whispered Virginia as she huddled up with Levi and Ivy
to talk about what they were going to do next.
But they're magical fairies. We're just Levi and Ivy and Virginia.
What can we possibly help them with? Asked Ivy. Well,
I I don't know, but we haven't let them explain
their problem yet, said Virginia, reaching out to touch the
most beautiful flowers she had ever seen. They were purple
(07:44):
and blue and seemed to sparkle in the sun, and
they had the strongest lilac smell. To Virginia, they were
the perfect flower and she couldn't take her eyes off them.
They're called spring surprise flowers, whispered one of the fairies
to Virginia, who could tell that she really liked them.
They're my favorites, who Virginia smiled, and then turned to
Levi and Ivy. I think we should at least find
(08:05):
out why they brought us here, don't you. Levi and
Ivy looked at each other, and the more they thought
about it, the more they knew Virginia was right. They
never backed down from an adventure, and they never backed
down helping someone in need. You're right, said Levi as
he and Ivy turned to face the now very happy
fairies that were flitting and flying around their heads.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
Thank you, thank you, said one of the fairies. Please
sit down over here and we'll explain everything.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
This could take a while, whispered Ivy to Virginia with
a smile.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
And I have a lot of.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
Questions, Levi, Ivy and Virginia took a seat on the
magnificent bench made out of a tree trunk decorated with
the most beautiful carved.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
Animals, leaves, and flowers.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
They were finally ready to listen as the fairies told
them a tale they could hardly believe. So before we began,
it would be best if we introduced ourselves, said one
of the fairies.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
My name is and this is my sister, Blossom.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
I was named after all the beautiful blossoms that grow
around here, and my sister was named after a giant
cedar tree that grows in the center of the garden,
said Blossom Virginia. Levi and Ivy said hello, and introduced
themselves as well. Now that we're all friends, smiled Cedar,
we can begin. It's very important that you know, while
we are magical fairies, we're still very young and our
(09:23):
magic is very limited. And everything that led to you
being here started this morning when we were playing in
the garden like we do.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Every day, added Blossom. But even though this garden is amazing,
we still get a.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
Little bored every once in a while, said Cedar, and
this morning was one of those times. What happened was
I had just won a new butterfly kite at the
Ferry Festival last weekend, and I was excited to use it. However,
there wasn't a windy day in the forecast for weeks,
explained Blossom.
Speaker 2 (09:54):
It was my idea that maybe.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
If we combined our magic, we could whip up the
little breeze so we could.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Fly Blossom this new kite, added Cedar.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
So that's exactly what they did, even though they knew
it was dangerous to do any magic in the garden
at such a young age. That was because they were
still just learning and the garden was the most special
and important place to their entire community of fairies. Their
garden like other fairy gardens, was where all the fairies
got their magic, and if anything ever happened to the
garden that stopped it from growing, then all the fairies
(10:23):
would lose their magical powers and the garden would disappear forever,
leaving them to all look for another home. Virginia, Levi,
and Ivy were very interested in Cedar and Blossom's story
and continued to listen closely. Blossom and I stood in
the center of the garden, under the big cedar tree
and tried to remember a few magic spells that we
had learned in school, said Cedar. We were told to
(10:45):
only practice them if our parents were around.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Boy, we thought, just this one time it would be okay.
Boy were we wrong, exclaimed Blossom.
Speaker 1 (10:55):
The two fairies went on to tell their friends that
they tried several spells, and as they did so, they
waved their arms and legs around, hoping that it would help.
Speaker 2 (11:04):
It didn't.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
They just couldn't remember the spells correctly without looking at
the magic instructions. Well why didn't you just ask your
parents for help, asked Levi, Because we wanted to do
it on our own, answered Cedar. We thought everything would
work out perfectly, and then once my client was floating
through the breeze, we'd call our parents over and show
them what we had done, said Blossom. We had been
(11:28):
working so hard on our spells at school and thought
we could handle it. We just wanted to surprise them
and all the other fairies, said Cedar as she continued
with the story. Since the spells they tried weren't working,
Blossom and Cedar became frustrated and impatient. Then, out of nowhere,
Cedar suddenly remembered that she had a fairy spell book
(11:49):
that she had taken out in the library and hadn't
returned yet. She flew home to grab it while Blossom
waited in the garden. Once Sear got back, we looked
through the whole book and finally found home that would work,
said Blossom, And it did. Virginia, Levi and Ivy smiled,
excited that their friends would finally get to fly Blossom's
new kite, but the looks on Cedar in Blossom's face
(12:10):
told them that was not the right reaction. Why do
you look so upset, asked Virginia. You just said the
spell worked and you got your windy day just like
you wanted. Whoa, it wasn't actually a windy day's spell.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
Confess Cedar. We couldn't find one of those, so we
picked the closest one. Well, spell was it, asked Levinan.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
A hurricane spell whispered Blossom so barely anyone could hear. Virginia,
Levi and Ivy moved in closer, asking her to repeat
herself her hurricane spell. A hurricane spell, called out Blossom,
looking upset and embarrassed.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
We made a bad decision.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
