Enough about that, let's get too Today's super Live Way
Lewis story.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Pine trees dotted the hills beside a long dirt road.
As Levi and Ivy got closer and closer to Rapid
Falls summer camp, they could hardly believe that after years
of asking their parents if they could go, the big
day had finally arrived. They were leaving their familiar neighborhood
and town behind to spend an amazing week rafting down
some of the most beautiful rivers they had ever seen. Well,

(01:01):
at least they looked pretty beautiful from the pictures they
had seen online. You see Levi and Ivy had never
actually been rafting before. Their excitement over river rafting began
years earlier, when their grandparents had gone on a rafting
trip and showed Levi and Ivy pictures and videos from
their adventure. From that moment on, Levi and Ivy could
only imagine what it would be like to have their

(01:21):
own adventure navigating the rapids on a fast moving river.
On days when it would rain, Levi and Ivy could
be seen outside in their backyard sitting in the little
inflatable raft that their grandparents had brought them back from
their trip as a souvenir. They navigated fake rapids as
they imagined that the drops of rain were water being
turned up and splashed around as they zoomed down a
Class four river.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I can't believe it, LEVI were almost there.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Exclaimed Ivy as she saw the welcome sign for Rapid
Falls Summer camp approaching. I can't wait to get in
our raft and set off for an adventure. I know,
it feels like we've been waiting for this moment forever,
replied Levi as he craned his neck to look out
the window.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
I see it.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
I can see the start of the rapid's course, Levi
and Ivy both stared out the window, peering through pine
trees to catch a glimpse of the river that they
would be rafting on for their very first time. Well,
it looks like we're here, said Levin Ivy's mom, sounding
a bit nervous.

Speaker 3 (02:20):
River rafting camp for a whole week.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Just my two little babies beeeding down some giant, unforgiving river,
trying to stay afloat with only a paddle to save them. Wow,
that sounds pretty dramatic, said Levin Ivy's dad to their mom.
I guess I have to remind you that this is
a camp for kids and is very highly regarded as
having the best safety procedures and a five star camp leader.

(02:45):
Remember that's why we agreed to let Levi and Ivy
go here. Yes, I remember, said Levi and Ivy's mom.
But that was so long ago, and now we're actually here,
and that river looks bigger than it did on the website.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Don't you think it looks bigger, Ivy?

Speaker 1 (03:02):
I think it looks amazing, replied Ivy, not really too
focused on what her mom was saying. I actually wish
it was bigger, added Levi, with more rapids.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
And more waterfalls and more everything.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Levi and Ivy's dad had barely stopped the car before
his kids took off their seatbelts and asked.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
To hop out. Sure, get to it.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
Said Levin and Ivy's dad, so happy to see how
excited his kids were, Levi and Ivy raced out of
the car and toward the Rapid Falls Summer Camp welcome Center.
They were joined by a bunch of other campers who
were just arriving as well.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
We made the right decision, right.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Asked Levi and Ivy's mom, as she watched her kids
playing in the display raft that was set out in
front of the welcome center.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Of course we did.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Look at how excited they are, said Levi and Ivy's dad, reassuringly.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
I bet they.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Come home with the most amazing stories from this week.
You have nothing to worry about. Levi and Ivy's parents
got their kids' bags out of the car and walked
them up to the walk of center just as a
few of the camp leaders were making their way outside.
They were all ready to welcome the excited campers to
a great week at Rafting Camp. Hello, everyone, I'm camp

(04:10):
leader Max and I'd like to welcome you to Rapid
Fall Summer Camp, the best river rafting summer camp in
the world, said camp leader Max. The group of campers
applauded and cheered. Once the crowd quieted down, Max explained
that he and the rest of the camp leaders would
be calling out the names of the campers that would
be in their groups for the week. Once you hear

(04:31):
your name, you were supposed to line up behind your
camp leader, say goodbye to your parents, and get ready
for the best week of summer vacation ever. Levi and Ivy,
you're in my group, called out Max with a big
smile on his face. Grab your gear, line up right here,
and don't forget to say see you next week to
those two people looking a little teary eyed by that
big pine tree over there. Of course, Max was pointing

(04:54):
to Levi and Ivy's parents. Even their dad was looking
a bit sad to leave it that moment. Their mom,
on the other hand, took the the last few minutes
she had before leaving for the week to tell her
kids all her rules.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
For camp one last time. Now.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Remember always stay together, wear your life best when you're rafting,
don't eat junk food all week and said their mom,
before Ivy interrupted her. Have fun, Ivy said with a
smile as she gave her mom a big hug. We will, Mom,
don't worry, added Levi as he joined in the hug
and pulled his dad into We're gonna be just fine.

(05:27):
We'll miss you and we'll see you in no time
at all. We love you, too, said Levi and Ivy's
dad as he waved to his kids while they followed
Max to their cabin.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
See you in a week.

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Levi and Ivy smiled and wave resurely to their parents.
Then they set off toward the adventure of a lifetime.
They just didn't know it yet. As the sun rose
on the first day of rafting camp, Levi and Ivy
were the first campers awake. They hopped out of their
bunks and met camp leader Max and the rest of
their camp crew outside.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
I can't wait.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
To get out on a raft today, said Ivy, enough
for Max to hear. Wow, that's some great enthusiasm, said
Max to Ivy. But today we'll all be about rafting
safety and learning about the river. Oh okay, said Ivy,
sounding a little disappointed. Levi looked confused, also thinking that
they would be rafting on the first day. Hey kiddos,

(06:19):
don't look so down, started Max. We'll have a lot
of time for river rafting and you'll be out on
the rapids in no time. But safety is always first
here at rapids fall summer camp. Nothing stops the fun
at camp faster than someone getting hurt while rafting. You're right, Max,
said Levi and Ivy. They changed their attitude and totally

(06:39):
agreed that safety was the way to go. They listened
to everything Max had to say, answered every question he
threw at the group, and volunteered for every scenario he
wanted to demonstrate. You always want to make sure you're
rafting with a guide, someone who knows all about rafting,
and someone who knows the area you'll be rafting in.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Max began.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
You also always want to wear a wife fat and
never raft without a buddy. Max went on to tell
all the kids in his group about wearing the proper
protective gear too, like a helmet, and the right outer
wear like a wetsuit, splash jacket, and proper river shoes.
Things like wearing sunscreen and sunglasses were on the top
of his list too. He focused on common sense things too,

(07:18):
like holding the paddle properly so it doesn't get pulled
out of your hands, and.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Always staying in your raft.

Speaker 1 (07:24):
It's called river rafting, not river swimming, laughed Max. Those
are two totally different river activities that are done in
two totally different parts of the river. He also made
sure to stress that the kids in his group should
know proper swimming techniques if for some reason they do
find themselves in the water. But the biggest thing Max
stressed was never panic in a high stress situation. No

(07:47):
matter what, I've got your back when we're out there
on the rapids, said Max, looking out at all the
kids in the group. Just remember what we learned here today.
Work as a team, encourage each other, and you'll be
all good to go. And the next day, Levi and
Ivy got their wish. After waiting for what felt like forever,
they found themselves walking down toward the rapids with Max

(08:07):
and the rest of their group. As they did, Levi
and Ivy were excited thinking about maybe competing at the
end of the week's river rafting race, and it was
clear who the team to beat was the Swift Current crew.
They were a team of campers who had been rafting
together for the last couple of years, and they were
very good. But how did Levi and Ivy and the
rest of the camp know they were so good. Well,

(08:28):
the Swift Current crew told everyone how good they were
every chance they got. Oh, man, I hope we get
the chance to race against them, said Levi to Ivy.
Maybe we could finally get them to stop bragging so
much if we'd beat them. Remember, Levi, rafting isn't about
winning or losing. It's about enjoying the natural world and
working together as a team and overcoming obstacles, said Ivy

(08:51):
before taking a little pause. And maybe it's a little
bit about beating the Swift Current crew in a race.
Levi and Ivy both gave a bit as they geared
up and jumped on their raft. Max was leading the
team as they set off that day down a rather
calm and mild part of the rapids. Levi and Ivy
took in every little thing as they floated down the river.

(09:11):
Every sight, sounds, smell, and movement in the water felt
new and amazing. They tried to remember everything Max had
taught them from the day before, wanting to impress them
and hoping that they could get good enough to compete
in the same level with the Swift Current crew at
the end of the week. As the day went on,
Max broke his group up into teams. Levi and Ivy,
of course, were paired up together and they were eager
to show off their skills.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Great job, Levi and Ivy.

Speaker 1 (09:35):
Called out Max from his raft as he floated along
with his group. Everyone is doing great, and since we're
at the point in the rapids that opens up into
this calm, shallow pool, everyone can have a little while
to paddle around and explore before we head in and
get ready for dinner. Levi and Ivy loved to explore
and immediately looked around to see what they could see,
and what they saw was a lot of splashing coming
from the far side of the pool area where they

(09:56):
were floating. I think the splashy is coming from behind
all that tall grass on the bank, said Levi as
he started to paddle toward the commotion in the water.
He and Ivy maneuvered their raft toward the tall grass.
They finally saw what was doing all the splashing. It
was a little river otter that had gotten itself tangled
in some vines that were growing on the bank of
the river. Don't worry, little one, we can help you,

(10:18):
said Ivy as she tried to calm the little otter.
Levi steered the raft a bit closer, and finally Ivy
was close enough to see what was going on. I
don't want to scare the otter, and I know I
shouldn't touch wildlife. So how are we gonna help it,
asked Ivy. We could tell max, suggested Levi. Or you
could just reach out and grab that vine right here.

(10:40):
If you shake it, I think I can slip my
leg out of it, said a little voice.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
Did you hear that?

Speaker 1 (10:46):
Asked Levi, looking at Ivy seeing that she had already
found where the voice was coming from. It's the little
otter it's talking, replied Ivy, jumping back in the raft.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Don't be scared, said the otter.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
My name is Luna and I've lived here at the
Rapid Fall Summer Camp for years. I always get caught
up in these vines, and I know how to get out.
I just can't do it by myself. Levi and Ivy
weren't scared at all. They were totally amazed. After all,
it's not every day you meet a talking otter. So
Ivy reached out, grab a hold of the vine and
gave it a little shake, and that was all Luna

(11:21):
needed to wiggle free. Thank you so much, said Luna,
swimming over to Levi and Ivy's raft. I've been watching
you too on the river, and your talent shows. How
long have you been rafting? Levi and Ivy explained to
Luna that this was their first day, but that they
had been interested in rafting for years. Wow, I've seen
a lot of kids rap down this river, and I'd

(11:42):
say you're some of the best I'd ever.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Seen, said Luna.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Maybe even as good as the Swift Current crew. That's
a big compliment, said Levi.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
We've heard lots of good things about them, added Ivy.
And we're hoping as the week goes on, we can
work super hard on our rafting skills and get the
chance to beat them in the big race at the
end of camp. I'd say you have a really good chance,
said Luna. As much as Levi and Ivy wanted to
talk more with Luna, they heard Max calling their group
back together so they could return to camp for dinner.

(12:13):
They just have to finish talking to Luna another day.
Maybe we'll see you around, asked Levi. You can count
on it, answered Luna. If you're on the river tomorrow,
I'll be sure to keep a lookout for you too. Bye,
Luna called out Ivy as she and Levi watched the
little otter disappear into the water. As the week went on,

(12:34):
Levi and Ivy got better and better as their rafting
courses got harder and harder. The water moved a bit
quicker each day, with more obstacles to navigate around and
more excitement around every turn. Levi and Ivy loved it,
and anywhere they went on the river, Luna was right
by their side. You two are really excelling here at camp,

(12:54):
said Max, as Levi and Ivy were taking a rest
between rafting sessions during the middle of camp. You know
you're both new to rafting, but you both have some
serious skills. I wanted to know if you'd like to
race the Swift Current crew at the end of camp.
Levi and Ivy were so flattered that Max thought they
were good enough to represent their whole camp group and
raise two members of the Swift Current crew. We'll do it,

(13:17):
called out Levi and Ivy together. They were confident in
all that Max had taught them, and they knew they
would accomplish anything if they worked together and believed in themselves,
and win or lose, they would give it their best try.
The week went on and Levi and Ivy practiced their
rafting skills every chance they got. Even when they had
free time, Levi and Ivy were always on the river

(13:38):
while other campers were playing soccer, making crafts.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
Or just chilling out in their bucks.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
They wanted to be the best they could be for
the big race, and they knew that meant a lot
of practice. The Swift Current crew is really good. You
can't deny that, said Luna. But with me by your side,
coupled with your rafting skills, you'll be definitely a hard
team to be and win or lose. Before you leave camp,

(14:03):
I'd love to show you both a super special place
that exists just beyond the.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Waterfall on the rapids course. It's called the Cove.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
And it's truly magical, rumored to be filled with treasures
and a talking otder and now a co filled with treasure,
said LEVI. Could this place get any better? I don't
think so giggled Ivy as she and Levi followed Luna
and got right back to practicing. Levi and Ivy trained

(14:31):
alongside Luna and learned every bend, turn and wave in
the river. They practiced on all the hardest rapid runs
and only had one more to conquer. That was the
most challenging rapid of them all and the setting for
the big race the very next day. Levi and Ivy
couldn't believe camp was coming to an end. It had
all gone by so quickly, but so many incredible things
had already happened. They learned all week from the best

(14:54):
camp leader at Rapid Falls Summer Camp and were becoming
amazing raptors. They met Luna, a talking daughter, and they
were hours away from maybe beating the best team in
camp on the hardest course on the raffis. Now, just
remember everything I taught you to and you'll do great,
said Max.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Your best is.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
All I'm looking for, and no matter if you win
or lose, you'll be so proud of yourselves for working
together and finishing this course.

Speaker 3 (15:21):
I know you can do it. Now, go have some fun.

Speaker 1 (15:24):
I'll be rafting along with both teams to keep an
eye on everyone, and I know you'll both be great.
Levi and Ivy thanked Max for his encouraging words and
walked into the raft to give it one last safety
check before heading out. As they did, they noticed some
clouds rolling in and felt a rain droppers who hit
their helmets. They looked to Max to make sure the
race was still on. He gave them a thumbs up,

(15:46):
but also told them if the weather started to get worse, unfortunately,
they would have to cancel the race. Levi and Ivy
definitely didn't want that to happen. This was their time
to have the rafting adventure they had always dreamed about,
and they couldn't let a little storm stop that. Lucky
for Levi and Ivy, the weather held out and the
race was set to start.

Speaker 3 (16:06):
Final safety checks.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Were done for both teams and the racecourse was gone
over again. Once both teams were ready to go, the
other campers counted them down and the rapid Fall Summer
Camp Rapids race began. Max pedaled out in front, drifting
just far enough ahead to give the two teams room
to maneuver the river, but also staying close enough to
help out if he needed to. Everything was going well.

(16:28):
Until some thunder rolled in and the rain began to
fall harder. The sudden bad weather was making the rapids
course a little more rapid than usual, and Levi and
Ivy didn't know if they could make it to the end.
That's when Luna popped out of the water. I thought
I would check in on my two favorite rafters now
that the weather is getting rough, said Luna, how are
you doing? Levi and Ivy weren't up for talking much

(16:50):
at that point. The water was getting very rough and
the rain was now coming down extra hard, so hard
in fact, that they couldn't see very well. Luna noticed
this and tried her best to tell them when they
were getting too close to the edge of the river. However,
Levi and Ivy couldn't hear her over the pounding water
and rain, so in just a split second, they went
from rafting down the rapids to pulling themselves out of

(17:11):
the water onto.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
A river bank. Are raft, called out, Ivy? Are raft
it tipped over?

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Don't worry, Ivy, Max will see it and I'll come
back to find us, said Levi. The important thing is
that we're okay. I'm not worried about being found. We
have Luna by our side. I'm worried that we won't
win the race, said Ivy with a look of disappointment
on her face. No need to be upset about that, Ivy.
You two did an amazing job. I don't know how

(17:39):
many kids your each could have made it that far
as you did in the water with all that weather,
said Luna, trying to make Levi and Ivy feel better.
And I think I have something that will cheer you
up while we wait for Max. Levi and Ivy followed
Luna as she scurried up the river bank and toward
a small waterfall. As they got closer, Levi and Ivy
knew where she was taking them the cove, called out

(18:02):
Levi and Ivy.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
That's right, answered Luna.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
Just like I promised you win or lose, I knew
you'd do your best, and this is your reward, A
little prize from me to you.

Speaker 3 (18:14):
Luna walked to.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Levi and Ivy inside the cove, and the natural wonders
that surrounded them were like nothing they had ever seen before.
Many waterfalls cascaded from the ceilings, falling gently into crystal
blue pools. Those pools were surrounded by glistening stones of
every color imaginable, and the greenest, most beautiful plants and
vines either of them had ever seen. This is better

(18:35):
than winning any race I can think of, whispered Levi,
not wanting to take away from the moment he and
Ivy were enjoying. Ivy just nodded her head and knelt
down to give Luna a hug.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
Thank you, she said.

Speaker 1 (18:48):
The three friends stayed quiet, just taking it all in
for a few minutes, until a loud rumble of lender
shook them out of their silence.

Speaker 3 (18:55):
Wow, you are right, Luna.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
This cove is filled with treasure, beautiful natural treasure, said Ivy.
Well you're not wrong, there, explained Luna. The things around
you are natural treasures for sure. But I was talking
about real treasure too. Levi and Ivy were very interested in,
followed Luna as she led them down a narrow path

(19:20):
that curved just behind one of the waterfalls and into
a hidden room. I meant this treasure, said Luna, pointing
to a giant wooden chest.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
Pirate treasure.

Speaker 1 (19:31):
No way, exclaimed Levi, Not exactly, said Luna, rapid fall,
summer camp treasure.

Speaker 3 (19:41):
And Luna was absolutely right.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Levi and Ivy rushed to open the giant wooden chest,
and inside they found old Rapid Fall summer camp memorabilia
spanning back from when the camp had opened fifty years earlier.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
There were old camp maps.

Speaker 1 (19:55):
Vintage life vests, antique rafting trophies, and hundreds of pictures
telling the stories of amazing that hundreds of campers had
had there before them. Levi and Ivy were lost in
the excitement of looking through all the great things in
the chest that they didn't hear Max calling their names
at first, Levi, Ivy they heard calling from the other
side of the waterfall. Max, is that you called back, Levi?

(20:18):
We're in here. Max ran into the hidden room behind
the waterfall, looking so relieved to see Levi and Ivy.
Once he made sure they were okay, he was introduced
to Luna and shown the amazing wooden treasure chest. Wow,
this is a lot to take in, said Max, with
a look of surprise on his face. I couldn't be
happier that I found you too, and you're okay. Then

(20:39):
I meet a talking otter and then you show me
this super cool treasure chest filled with memorabilia from my
favorite place on Earth.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
This is a pretty epic day.

Speaker 1 (20:49):
I know it's awesome, said Ivy before her smile turned
into a frown.

Speaker 3 (20:55):
But I guess we lost the race, huh, Ivy, don't
be so damp, said Max.

Speaker 1 (21:01):
You may have lost the race, but you two did
an absolutely amazing job this week, the best I've ever
seen two new rafters do. For sure, I could not
be more proud of you. You have to be proud
of yourselves too, and the discovery you made here today
will be something that will make everyone at Rapid Fall
Summer Camp so happy.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
You have to be excited about that. I'm happy about that, Ivy.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Said Levi, trying to make his sister see that they
had so much to be happy for. You're right, I'm
happy too, really happy, said Ivy. Thank you Max, and
thank you Luna. As the storm began to let up,
Max loaded Levi, Ivy, and the giant wooden chest into
his raft, and with Luna swimming by their side, they
made their way back to camp. Everyone, even the Swift

(21:43):
Current crew, was so happy to see them all. You
two did an amazing job, said one of the Swift
Current crew members. That course was by far the hardest
we've ever rafted before.

Speaker 3 (21:53):
Said another, You.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Should feel very proud of how great you did this week.
We can't wait for next summer when we can have
another race. Levi and Ivy felt great hearing that from
the Swift Current crew. After all, they were the best
of the best, and now they were even more excited
to share what they found in the cove with the
rest of the camp. As everyone looked through the giant
wooden chest, the sun came out and a huge celebration

(22:15):
dinner was had to say goodbye and thank everyone for
a great week. All the adults returned to celebrate with
their kids and hear all about the fun they had
rafting that week, and boy.

Speaker 3 (22:24):
Was there a lot to talk about.

Speaker 1 (22:26):
Levi and Ivy were recognized for their great work that
week and applauded for their bravery earlier that afternoon. The
pride they felt couldn't be matched unless you happened to
look at their parents, who looked even prouder than them.
It sounds like you had the best week ever, said
Levi and Ivy's mama. She helped load their things into
the car. It was better than the best, said Ivy. Totally.

(22:47):
We can't wait to come back next year. Exclaimed LEVI. See,
I told you they'd have a great time, said Levi
and Ivy's dad. Levi and Ivy said a final goodbye
to their friends they made that week, saving a special
good for Max. They thanked him again for everything he
taught them, and they told him they would see him next.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
Summer for sure.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
They also asked that he would watch over Luna for
