Speaker 1 (00:02):
Do you have a one that got away? A certain
corner of your heart reserved for someone for whom you've
always wondered? What if? Today we're jumping right into the
deep end and exploring exactly that. I'm Alicia Rye and
I'm Sarah went Dell. Welcome to Love Struck Daily, where
we bring you love stories, and I'm the Good Fields
every day. I'm in love with that. I'm in love
(00:38):
with you, Felicia. Do you have a one that got away? No?
I don't either. I kind of tied up my my
now husband in senior year and toss h over my
shoulder and was like, all right, that's good. I mean
we didn't get together until we were in college. But yeah, No,
the ones who got away went away on for good purpose. Yes,
(01:00):
like I, I do not pine for anybody. I don't
pine for any X. I read this great book a
few years ago called Attached, which I referenced a lot
because I think it's so clever and and some people
don't really believe in the science of it or whatever,
but it's about attachment theory and how people are differently attached.
And I think I'm kind of on the border of
(01:21):
either you know, secure attachment sometimes, an anxious attachment sometimes,
But they say that in that book. And one thing
I kind of always tried to remember is that people
who are avoidantly attached often have ones who got away,
and and also people with you know, other attachments as well.
But but I used to tend to date people who
were very avoidantly attached, and they always came back to
(01:44):
be like, they always always came back to me, and
it was like this weird cycle. I can see why,
because you are fabulous and giving, but they were not
deserving of what fabulous nous you were giving. Well, thank you,
thank you. But it is something where they like, you know,
I think that they would keep like an ideal in
their head of you know, and they all would be like, oh, well,
(02:05):
this one got away. And so I always associated something
very negative with the idea of the one who got away,
because that was the experience I had. I don't think
it's you know, now that I'm older and I'm safe
from them, I don't think that I am necessarily consider
it like a negative thing. But it's not. It's not
a phenomenon I'm just intimate with because once I'm when
(02:27):
someone goes out of my life. I don't really care
to have them back. Yeah, Like I don't find for them,
Like it's not I'm sad, you know, like sometimes i'm
sad or I missed them, but I don't. I don't
think of them as like, oh, this is like perfect
person got away from me. I often think about choices
that I didn't make, opportunities that I had that I
(02:50):
didn't take, and what they what that would have changed
my life, what that would have done. I once got
accepted into a graduate school in Australia and was seriously
thinking about going, and had a very vivid dream that
I had made that choice and I was there and
I was miserable. And I think it was my my
unconscious or my sleeping brain saying this choice will have
(03:12):
repercussions in ways that you may not be thinking about
about things that are already important to you. Because I
was with Adam and he was like, yes, you should go,
and when you know, we'll figure it out. And I
was miserable in the whole dream, and I'm glad I
didn't go because I was also on a path that
wasn't for me. And I know that now. I read recently,
what is there a word for the pictures on social
(03:33):
media that are like a square with words on them
like quote grahams. Are those still means? I was associated
me into pictures? But anyway, Okay, So I saw a
meme that was don't make people a priority in your
life who see you as an option? Yeah, that hurts
all right. I want to have deliberate, intentional relationships in
(03:55):
my life because my energy is finite and I'd want
to choose where I put it up. That's absolutely true
and very very wise. Well, today we are so excited
to welcome to very special guests onto the show. First up,
we have Lily, who is here to tell us about
their one who Got Away, and secondly, Dana DiFranco, Based
out of Chicago. Dana is a professional astrologer, combining traditional
(04:20):
and modern technique, psychology, and philosophy to help clients understand
their past and plan for their futures. She is the
co host of Allegedly Astrology, a podcast you should definitely
check out. Please welcome Lily and Dana. Hi, both of you,
(04:40):
thank you so much for joining us. We we really
appreciate it. Happy to be here. Do you know, thank
you so much for coming? Can you tell us a
little bit about your practice. How did you get into it?
It was definitely because of a guy, like always it. Yeah,
I stopped talking to a guy who I had been
hooking up with. He like hooked up with my friend
on a day um of an eclipse, and I like
(05:01):
just heard about the eclipse that that day and I
was like, oh, like he was eclipsed out of my life.
And then and then when that eclipse series happened the
next summer, then we became friends, me and that that guy,
So then I was like, Okay, astrology is real. And
then I was kind of just like doing it in
chats with my friends and like I would get I've
been super into it, like reading books and stuff. And
then right before the pandemic, I started practicing like professionally
(05:24):
and reading charts. And then my friend at last, who
I did the podcast with, I'm having a podcast allegedly astrology.
She said, like we were doing nothing during the pandemic
and she was like, let's like get let's like do
the podcast. So then now I have pretty much boosted
my business, uh from the podcast, and we focus on
world events, celebrity gossip, like we're not really relegated to
(05:47):
one section, but it is probably generally stuff that's women's interests,
and for the most part, I would say that's a
really why don't you give us a little bit of
a rundown of what is your story? Who are you
looking for or and how did you come to be here.
My cousin actually told me about you guys in your podcast.
I listened to a couple of episodes yesterday, so that
(06:07):
was fun. Yeah, it was great. But originally from California,
born and raised in l A. Moved out to Philly
Um for college, and I've been here kind of ever since.
I know, we're talking about the one that got away today,
so we're gonna be talking about my college boyfriend. We
started dating in college. We dated for I think two
and a half years officially, unofficially like four years. We
(06:31):
stayed together until we graduated. We stayed together for like
six months after graduation, and then life got a little real.
I wanted to move in with him and kind of
get more serious, and he just wasn't ready for it. Yeah,
so he went to med school actually kind of six
months after we broke up. So that's really why he
didn't wasn't ready to settle down and whatnot. And at
(06:54):
the moment, he had another girlfriend for like a year
and a half. They just broke up, like I would say,
four months ago, and just like that, right when they
broke up, we kind of started talking again. So he
kind of just came back into my life. Yeah, the
little so. So I'm not sure what we're really doing
at the moment, if we're gonna get back together, if
(07:16):
we're just kind of feeling it out. But yeah, so
I have a lot of questions myself. So and how
how long has it been since you've broken up? Now?
How many years? Three years? Now? Three years? So he's
still in medical school? Yeah, all right, and it's he's international,
he's somewhere. Yes, he lives in Barbados. Okay, OKAYO. Have
(07:40):
you consulted an astrologer before about this or is this?
I have not? Have you have you ever seen an
astrologer before? I have not. I'm very excited. Okay, what
brought you sort of to this? Do you just want
information about what's in your future or closure? I'm curious
to see just what what's going to happen. I'm very
(08:01):
into I'm very into astrology. I think it's real it's
definitely he's a Pisces too, if that helps you out
at all, it does, Yeah, he's a Pisces, but yeah,
just curious to kind of see what is going to
happen in the future for me. Okay, well, I mean
lucky for you, we have an astrologer right here. Well,
(08:22):
we don't wanna, we don't wanna hold up this reading
any longer at this moment. Yeah, So why why don't
why don't the two of you sort of do Why
don't you why don't you do this reading? It is
time to take a brief break to hear from one
of our sponsors. We'll be right back. So looking at
(08:48):
your chart, First of all, you're a tourist rising and
the eclipses right now are happening in taurists and Scorpio.
So every six months or so there will be eclipses
in tourists or Scorpio. In from November through October twenty
three is the time whenever there's um eclipse is happening
in someone's first and seventh house. Those are going to
(09:08):
be times when major relationships, relationship issues like start um
and you know it's going to be centered around relationships
and you and it's going to be significant because like, okay,
so two years ago, probably when you broke up, would
have been a twelfth house here, which you have a
lot of planets in your twelfth house, Like that would
be a year that we're probably a lot of action happened, agree,
(09:28):
and so yeah, and then lad action awesome and then yeah,
so then twenty four was your first house year, and
now you're in your twenty fifth year. We're in your
second house. Also focusing on like salary and then just
sort of like how do you support yourself? But so
your second house is Gemini, and the planet that rules
Gemini is Mercury. So Mercury is what's called your time
(09:49):
lord for your the year. It's like your most important
planet for a Mercury retrogrades will probably be more significant
for you. I don't know if you started talking to
your ex when Mercury was retrograde, but that would be interesting. Yeah,
we did. So then all these Mercury retrogrades are going
to be significant for you. And it is interesting too
that you started talking during the last Mercury retrograde, because
(10:11):
that was sort of a preview into what's going to
be happening from October thirty through January twelve, which is
when Mars will retrograde in Gemini. So it's sort of
like that was like the first retrograde in Gemini, which
is like a mini tour into possibilities of like what
will ok our and then the next one is going
to be like the big show. Great this this was
the small show. Yeah. Well, also Mercury also rules your
(10:35):
fifth house, which is the house of like everyone you've
ever hooked up with and also like having fun and leisure,
so it's like the fun house. It's it's committed. Relationships
are like the seventh House, but they're also in the
fifth House because you have to be able to have
fun with your partner. So like that's where you start,
and then your natal Mercuries and your twelfth which means
that maybe when you're like in isolation is when you're
getting some of these answers. You know, like you I
(10:57):
don't know if you were like I don't know what
inspired you to write into a podcast to try and
you know, work this out, but like that could have
been a time sort of like just these like things
will come to you. Yeah. But then also so Mercury
will retrograde from September nine to October two, and during
that time it will retrograde from Libra, which is your
sixth house, back into your fifth house. So that would
I was looking at a time when if you were
(11:18):
to talk to get back together, that might be a time.
It's so funny because I have I'm supposed to go
to his sister's wedding during that time. Really interesting. So
you don't say you're in with the family too, So yeah,
this is good. Also, I should say I can't like
(11:41):
looking at your chart. It can make predictions for your relationships.
I can't say necessarily for him, but I already have
a story going on in your life. It will apply
to that story, right, So yeah, I would say that
this relationship is probably what the big eclipses are about
in your life. Really, do you have any specific questions
for Dana based on the reading sort of that she's
(12:04):
gone through. Yeah, So for that month when my moons
are coming out in like November and October, should I
be more cautious or should I be more you know, outgoing?
I would be like in touch with how you're feeling.
Maybe journalist could be I always journaling because I know
it's it's what works. But especially since you're in a
Mercury year, like it could be a year when you're
(12:25):
talking to yourself, especially since you're Mercurys and your twelve.
So yeah, like right now you're saying, like, do I,
you know, go back to him. It seems like you're hesitating,
like living that hesitation, like let him like if he flounders,
then like he's not worth it. But it seems like
you guys have history and he's probably not a complete
um flounderer. Yeah that makes sense. Yeah, I think I'm
(12:47):
just gonna kind of go with the flow and see
what happens, I guess, because it's like what else am
I gonna dosing? I mean, I think I think some
things can't be playing. You're I'm also a horse rising,
and I know it's like really hard to accept that
you can't control what someone else is doing. Yeah, yeah,
(13:08):
it's terrible. It's the worst thing ever. So I I
do love the idea, like I love the what you said,
Dana about living in the hesitation, because I think that
is so important and and such a vital thing and
not a lot of people think about doing like if
you're hesitating about something, I don't think it's a bad
(13:28):
thing to really contemplate why that hesitation is there. For sure,
I couldn't agree more. Yeah, it's really funny that you say,
you know, it's hard not being able to control everything,
because I feel like I'm looking for so much control
right now in my life. It's like I want, I
want to know what's what's happening, what's going to happen,
Like I want everything to be planned out perfectly, but
it's just not the case for me right now. So yeah,
(13:51):
the Eclipses are really going to shake it up. Yeah,
Like enough, Dana, there any parting words you want to
leave Lily with? Yeah, hold on, don't do anything. I've
never seen a tourists make any quick movements. But then
I guess also tourists sometimes holds back too much. So
if you do feel like there's something you could say
(14:12):
and the moment strikes, I guess, I mean, just trust yourself.
Like you, it's gotten you this far, and you do
seem to have a handle on your emotions. So I
feel like I just don't do something because you think
you should, but do it because like you feel it. Okay,
So trust my gut basically, Yeah, yes, simple, all right? Okay, Yeah,
(14:32):
I think that's fair, Dana. Was that the advice that
you would give listeners about love or about astrology? Like,
is that is that sort of your go to advice?
Because I think it's good advice. Absolutely. I think astrology
is really helpful for confirming what we already know, and
sometimes it is really good to like see like Okay,
this is going to be a really bumpy road, but
then knowing when something will end. But for the most part,
(14:55):
people feel really relieved when something wasn't just in their
head or it wasn't something that just happened to then
it was sort of all in the plan, I suppose, Yeah,
like a greater cosmic event. Lily, Do you have any
uh plans after this? Yeah, I guess I'm just gonna
I get to see him in like two months, so
when he's gonna come visit for a week, So I
(15:16):
guess we'll just see how that goes. And from for
the time being, well, give him a couple of drunk
facetimes every other week, you know. Awesome, But I don't
really have much of a plan now, just kind of
going with it. That's that's I think that that's and
I wish you the best where let us know what happens.
(15:37):
I will yeah, and there there will definitely be a
lot of follow up, so great. I will let you
guys know. Well, we're we're on the internet. Can we
find you, Dana and Lily if you want to be found.

win w I n N awesome. We're very invested. Now
we'll see if I go to his sister's wedding. You yeah,
we are. We are rooting for you. I mean, even
if it's not with him, we're rooting for you. So
so good luck and thank you so much, both of you,
who really really appreciate this. Thank you. Thank you guys.
(16:22):
Know this is such a good conversation. Sarah, what is
your love to go for this episode? I think the
