Speaker 1 (00:02):
Downhill. Yo, what's up? Everybody? Is?

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Tyr's here back with MAXI and the mic. I didn't
mean to abandon you guys. I promise I didn't. It's
just like the flow of the NBA season. I've been working,
working really hard. I want to start with an icebreaker
and uh shout out to our Philly fans. So I'll
talk about how, you know my Dallas Cowboys because I'm

(00:37):
from Dallas, I'm allowed to be a fan of the Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
We lost in the first round out the Wind Division.
That sucks.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
But you know, I'm after the Cowboys. I want the
Eagles to win. So people probably think, hey, you're a
Cowboys fan, you hate the Eagles. I don't hate the Eagles.
I don't have any problem with the Eagles. I like
the Eagles, just not when they're playing the Cowboys. But
turns out the was lost too, so I'm zero for too,
so that sucks. I just want to bring that out there, souse.

(01:05):
I'm watching, you know, football right now, so that's a
little icebreaker, but I just want to jump into it.
I want to jump right into it. You know, I
have a lot of stuff to talk about. You know,
I haven't been on here for a minute. I kind
of want to start with Christmas. As y'all know, I
was hurt last year at my first Christmas game, so
I didn't get to play in Masacuare Garden when we

(01:25):
beat the Knicks. This year was my first Christmas game,
you know, going leading up to the Christmas this Christmas
game against the Heat, I think we had one maybe
two straight games or three straight games, but it was
a you know, we was playing really well, playing good basketball.
You know, we beat I think Minnesota there would beat

(01:46):
somebody else out there that I can't remember, but you know,
the team was flowing, everybody was playing pretty well. And
then Joelle gets hurt, so we have to go play
Christmas game on to national television without Joel, which is different,
and quite frankly, I literally just stunk it up. It
was like probably my worst basketball game I played in
a long time. Like literally I couldn't make a shot.

(02:08):
Every shot seemed like it was going in, but none
of them went in. And I talk about this because
one is just because it's Christmas, Like it's every it's
almost every basketball player's dream to play on Christmas. They
play well on Christmas, so it's just funny how horribild played.
And you know it happens. You know it happens in
the age two game season. You know you have those

(02:28):
type of nights, you know, for someone like myself, and
you know, good players in this league, they have a
lot of good nights. So when you have a bad night,
you have to kind of take it on the chin
and kind of learn from it. But it's funny because,
as teammates should, or as coach should, everybody just tell me,
like it doesn't like, don't worry about it, just one game.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
You've been great all year. You're going to continue to
be great all year.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Like you know, it's it's one game, Like don't don't
let it, don't tear yourself down too much. And then
here comes Pat Bell, my my wonderful vet, who I love.
He comes up to me say, man, I ain't gonna lie.
Everybody else, you know, they saying everything's gonna be okay,
But I gotta be the bad guy.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
I gotta say.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
You can't cook without Joe Will, you can't score the
same like you always do without Joe. And I'm like,
looking back on my track record, it's funny because every
game that Joe hasn't played like throughout my career. I've
always had like thirty four, Like I've had really good games.
But that game course, like I said, I just can't
make a shot. So then the next two games after

(03:28):
Pat Beths goes off and you know, we have that.
It wasn't like an argument. It was just like, all right,
let me show you. So then we play Orlando, we win.
I think we have like twenty three twenty four or
something like that, and we win, good game, go to Houston.
We have like flight problems in Orlando, so we have
to stay over longer, so we didn't get to Houston

(03:49):
until like later, you know, later the day before our game,
so we already had that. But I remember we start
the game off slow, and I'm like, you know what,
this is gonna be a good game for me to
just take over and absolutely like will as to a victory.
I just remember it was being it was down a
little bit, but I just kept going, kept going, kept going.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
I couldn't make like my three wasn't falling. I just
kept attacking the basket, kept attacking. Maxie got it.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
In the foul for the sending All Star Tyrese, Maxie
and you know, we end up winning, and I ended
up like forty two, and I just remember Pat Bev
comes into the locker room. He was like, you're welcome.
You're welcome. That wasn't for this year, that wasn't for
this game. That was for like, uh, that was for
your career. That was for your career, for the rest

(04:36):
of your career. You're gonna never forget that, and I won't.
I won't never forget that, that that little not conversation,
but that little verbal conversation that I had with Pat Bev.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
After the Miami game.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
And I appreciate him for that because, you know, I
don't think nobody needed to push me, but to have
a bet like that, to go out there and push
you to go be the best version of yourself, all
you can do is appreciate him for that. So that
I will I will say that that I do appreciate
Pat Bean for that, and I'll thank him for that
because that's that's something that not a lot of guys have,

(05:09):
you know what I mean, not a lot of players
have a lot of players need that, but not a
lot of players have that on their team, and especially
coming from somebody who's a genuine who shows as much
love as he does as Pat Beaf. So shout out
to Pat Bell. Listen, just go check out Pat Bell's pod.
He's hilarious, gonna make you laugh.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Great dude.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Second, I want to talk about us bringing Joel back.
You know, so we played those games, we had a
good road trip. Joel comes back. And it's funny because
Pap Pill Pat Bev has this thing that's it's called
a belt two behind Tour that he's saying that, you know,
we're on this year, and he called Joel the lead singer.

(05:51):
So when we were playing and we were winning a
few games, I think we won maybe two games in
Rowever many games we won to Row without Joel, and
then we played in the back the back we end
up losing.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
And then our last.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Time playing with out Joel was I want to say
Sacramento and we win, and then Joe was like, I'll
be back next game, guy, I'll be back next game.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
You know, we play the Rockets, they will play because
you know jo Kischen.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
So he's like he goes to the meeting, It's like, yeah,
we got our we got our lead singer back. Belta
Belta Behind Tour back at it again. We're going to
coming to the city. We said, coming to a city
near you. It's like, you know, the people love it.
So that's just another example of Pabel being pat belt.
But that this segment, we're gonna talk about Joel because

(06:34):
Joel comes back and you would think.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Somebody like Joelle needs a.

Speaker 2 (06:40):
Some tune up games, you know what I mean, after
missing so much time, then coming back to two games
and then missing time again. Uh, he comes back and
he just jumps right back into it. He literally jumps
right back into where he has been. I mean, how
he's been playing all season long, you know, dropping thirty
and ten and like easy and we play the Rockets.
So this is, you know, a good game for him

(07:00):
to come back to. You know guys where you know
we have to play a good young team. You know
that team's playing well. They defend the ball well, to
defend the rim well. And then Timgon is just I
think he's going to be you know, I don't want
to say baby yo kitch because that's you know, I
don't want to compare it, but like he's really good.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
It's really good in the way he knows how to
play the game.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
He's very good at basketball, you know, in my opinion,
and just the way that he puts like the way
that the Rockets have kind of surrounded that team around
him and kind of evolved it to where like that's
his team. You know, Fred van Bleek has came there
and Jeff Green has came there, and those guys have
really put a vet presence onto that young team. So

(07:41):
they're trending in the right direction. That was a good,
a good tune up game for us before we played
to defend the champs.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Uh off off of the.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Ladder of the back to back that we had, so
Martin Luther King day, we got to play the Rockets,
took care of business, and then the next day, you know,
Joell's second game back from you know, two injuries back
to back, we played defend the Champs. So you know,
it's just funny because you know, I'm not don't I
don't get into the whole Twitter thing or social media

(08:09):
thing as far as like you know, fans and people
in NBA Twitter, But it's funny NBA twitters and saying, like,
you know, because Joe has gotten hurt a few times,
it got you know, have to sit out a couple
of times that Joel can't play or we can't us
as six Ers, we can't perform against top talent. So
you know, we played the Nuggets, Joel plays. We had

(08:30):
a good game. It was a really good game. You know,
those guys came in ready to play, high scoring game.
We didn't play like very much defense in the first half.
Neither neither one of us think it was like eighty points,
one hundred and sixty points between both teams at halftime.
So it's like, you know, coaches like, yeah, we're scoring
the ball, we're getting everything at one but we're not

(08:51):
stopping anybody. So long story short, Joel has another dominating
performance forty probably and I don't know what, you know,
what he ended up with, but like he was good.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
It was really good. And it's just funny, like you know, NBA.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Twitter said, oh, I Jorge can't perform against the Sixers,
can't perform against talent, against like top teams, and you know,
we always try to go out there and show them that.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
And uh, that was a good it's a good test
for us in the midway point.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
So that was good. I also want to talk about
about that game. It's it's funny. My mom and my
dad were there, and I think it's like one of
the first times and my career that I missed two
free throws in a row, like three times. So I
go to the live and it's a funny story, and

(09:39):
I'll tell the story. But I'm not going to say
my middle name because I don't want people calling me this.
But DeAndre Jordan was on our team my second year,
and uh, he's a great guy. I loved DeAndre Jordan. Uh,
you know, he's been a great player and he's a
really good vet. We know he's a champion. He was
on a different team last year. But uh, if anybody
knows the to Jordan, they know. You know, he's a

(10:01):
funny guy. He's gonna try to crack jokes during the game.
So we're in the four quarter and I go to
the free throw line. Get fail, I'll go to free
throw line and I'm going up to shoot, and I
hear him screaming out my middle name on the free
throw line. So nobody, I don't tell anybody my middle name.
The only person that actually calls me by my middle
name is my mother, So he heard her call me

(10:24):
that one like in the playoffs my second year, and
I forgot that. He was, like, I just hadn't seen
him in a long time, so I forgot that he
knew that. So when I'm going up to shoot, just
imagine somebody screaming out your middle name midshot, and like,
I don't lose focus very often because it's like I'm
the laser focused god. But I heard that and I looked,
that's it. What did you just say? It was like

(10:46):
he was like, yeah, I got you now. So he
was just screaming it out, screaming out, screaming it out.
So now I'm used to it, you know, because you
know Joe. I told Joe Well that he's been every
single time I go to the free throw line now,
either it's practice or a game, screamed it out.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Like you gotta be able to do it.

Speaker 2 (11:02):
You gotta be able to make free throws even though
people call you out by your middle name in the playoffs.
So I'm I'll help you practice. So now every time
I go to the freeth line, he just screams out
my middle name. But that was funny, you know, shout
out to Deondre Jordan, like I said, champion, great player,
you know, He's just it's just funny, like you just now,

(11:22):
I'm just sitting there thinking about all the different things
that as NBA players go through, and uh, you know,
we get hassled and it doesn't bother me by fans
and playoffs and weird in Boston and Milwaukee or like
all those different places fans, because fans are a great
part of our game. You know, like they're the closest
I think in any profession, you know, football, just the
fans and the stands aren't.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
As close basketball. That's what makes basketball so great to me,
The NBA is so great.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
It's because the fans can literally like personally reach out
and touch you, you know what I'm saying. So that's
that's really cool. I Mean, we have the security off
forward you, which is great, but like you can really
interact with the fans playing basketball and really talk to
him and it's just good thing. But it's so funny
how that that little little thing like someone calling you

(12:06):
while you're a middle name that nobody else knows can
can throw off concentration and you have to kind of
refocus really quick. So that was great, you know, that
was a good little learning moment for me.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
I also want to talk.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
About a little bit just since we're on the topic
of it, you know, our team and.

Speaker 1 (12:28):
How the trade deadline's coming up.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
My rookie year after I had the little thirty nine
point game whatever as my first start, the next day
or maybe two days later, like my name was in
the trade rumors. I'm like, whoa. So, like this is
my first time being in an NBA. I'm like, what
in the world, Why why they want't trade me? What
did I do what they wouldn't trade for me for?

(12:50):
And I remember Mike Scott telling me, He's like, yeah,
your name gonna me and some trade rumors. You just
had forty points in your first start, And I was
like what, I thought that was good. He's like, yeah,
that's good. But you know, so I'm like, I'm freaking
out calling my mom, like what happens if I have
to get traded? What if I had to move? Blah
blah blah blah, and uh, you know, I just remember

(13:11):
remember my scouty sitting me down telling me, hey, look,
this is going to be It's just a part of
the NBA.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
It is part of the business. And think about that,
like I never have to do it. Personally.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
But people have to like really literally pack up and
move their entire families to a different place or you know,
their entire lives and has to change and start over.
And uh, of course it comes with it, and it's
it's a great job that we love it, you know
what I'm saying. But the mental aspect of it, so
trade deadline is it's hard and it's scary for certain guys.
You know, guys that are in trade talk to every

(13:44):
time you look on to social media, your name is
in some different talk where you hear different guys or
you hear different announcers or whatever you call the broadcasts
talking about trades or this, that and the third. So
right now, it's just crazy. You know, we have a
I feel like we have a really good team. You know,
I don't I have no idea what we're going to
do with trade deadline. I feel like if we do

(14:06):
do something and I don't have a podcast to it,
and I would say this, everybody on this team I've loved,
loved playing with.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
You know, this is a great group of guys in
my opinion.

Speaker 2 (14:14):
You know, if we don't make a move or if
we do, cool, But if we don't make a move.
I feel like we have a very great chance at winning,
you know what I mean, at advancing and going round
from round and to round. Because I say that because
when we have the best player in the world. I mean,
what he's doing this year. What he did last year

(14:34):
was remarkable, what he's doing this year is I heard
I've seen a stat that compared him with wood Chamberlain
the year that wood Chamberlain played like every minute of
every basketball game, but Joel has set out of I
don't know how many.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
I think it maybe.

Speaker 2 (14:53):
Eleven or twelve fourth quarters. Don't quote me on that.
So we're comparing the guy who played forty eight and
a half minutes per game to guy who's playing like
thirty three minutes per game.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
So with his points per minute.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
It's like it's crazy, it's insane, and it's like, tell everybody,
like he does it so consistently that you take it
for granted. But we literally can't take what he's doing
for granted because like it's never been done before, Like
it's just it's amazing and we appreciate him. So if
we don't make any any adjustments at the trade deadline,

(15:30):
I feel like we still have a very talented team
and a team that has a lot of fire under
them to go do something special. And then at the
end of the day, we have a great coach. You know,
coach is going to make adjustments the coaches going to
who he has the old been conscience that he can
out coach whoever. You know, he steps in that ring with,
and you need that. You need somebody that confident. He
has that championship experience. He's done it before and he's

(15:52):
done it recently, so you know that's those are those
things and then Lovely, I guess I said myself, I
throw myself in there too.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
I'm I feel like I'm a little bit better than
I've been in the past.

Speaker 2 (16:01):
And you know, I've had three six playoff series in
three years of playoff experience, so I feel like I
know a little bit about the playoffs and it's been great.
You know, I think the time that I've gotten this
year when Joe was not on the floor, you know
what defensive trying to do to me, I've gotten trapped.
I've got blitz off of every like ball screen when

(16:23):
Joe was not then boxing one did not I've seen
all those different coverages, so it's like, this is my
first year really going through that, you know, as a
as a number two guy or you know, a top
top guy in this league. So you know, I'm striking
all that out on the fly. I didn't get I
didn't get trapped as much in high school. And so
it's like it's really funny, but it's it's a sign
of respect, I guess. You know, I'm always messing with

(16:45):
like guys like Marcus Morris.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
On the bench. I'm like, man, they trapped me from
boxing one and trapped me from the open tip. You know.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
Its sometimes when Joe is not out there, he's like,
what do you expect? Uh? You think they just go
literally run around freely. But you know, it's it's it's great.
You know, it's great having to make adjustments to that.
And I feel like I've tried to do that, you know,
get off the ball quicker. I try to make my
teammates better and do different things like that. It's just

(17:13):
a hard time in the NBA. It's a fun time,
you know, it's a fun time looking at all these
different trades because for me, like I'm I'm excited for
a former teammate of mine, a friend of mine A
Mania quickly who got traded that was I think that
was a good trade for him because now he's over there,
he has more opportunity with the Raptors.

Speaker 1 (17:29):
He's starting, you know, he's playing a bigger role.

Speaker 2 (17:33):
And it's like, I'm happy for him and I talk
to him, and he's been excited about he was sad
about leaving New York, you know, somewhere where the fans
really loved him, you know, the coach staff loves the
ordination loved him. But like I said, it's a business
at the end of the day, and like that's that's
their baby. They drafted r J Bear, they drafted a
Mania quickly, but they felt like as an organization that
ognob was gonna, you know, maybe put them over the hump.

(17:56):
So that's how the business goes, and it's it's it's crazy,
it's crazy. So now I'm just owning that topic. Like
the East is making big moves. The East to making
big moves. The og Nobi Trays a big move, and
the Pascal Sia come to Indiana is a big move.
And uh, those are two teams that we could face
in the playoffs. We'll see what happens. We'll see what happens,

(18:16):
and hey, it would be fun as always. That's what
that's what the NBA. That's what America and all the
basketball fans in the world like about the NBA. The
drama and all of that is that's it's a good
thing for the NBA, and it's it's great for basketball.
So we'll take a break and then we'll be back
after this and I'll continue. I'll talk a little bit
about Winby playing Winby coming up, talk a little bit

(18:38):
about about the all story, and U.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
I'll get out you guys. Way you're back.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
All right, guys, welcome back to MAXI on the mic.
After that quick break, I want to jump into you know,
we're at the halfway point, literally the halfway point. I
want to talk about our upcoming five game schedule. It's
Sunday night right now as I'm recording and watching the
Chiefs and the Bills play. Shout out to those guys.

(19:18):
But tomorrow we play a friend of mine and Victor
Winbin Yama. You know, what he's been doing in the
league has been amazing, the candidate for Riokie of the Year,
him and Check probably neck and neck right now. But
Victor is a special talent that I haven't got to
play a real NBA game against. I got to play
some one on one against him, but I get I'm

(19:38):
probably gonna get to play a real NBA game against him.
So that's gonna be a fun matchup to watch, and
hopefully we get to see some of him and Joelle,
you know, match up against each other. That would be great,
not just for you know, our eyes, but great for
the game of basketball. Two international players, you know, going
at each other. That'll be fun. Two guys that have
a lot of promise in this league. So I would

(20:00):
be great.

Speaker 1 (20:01):
And they were off to like a little mid West
road trip kind of. You know, we're gonna start in
Indiana and we're gonna go play the new look Pacers
with Tarres Halibur and Pascal Siakam, Buddy Hill, Miles Turner
and those guys, fast paced offense.

Speaker 2 (20:18):
We know or we're gonna get from them. It's gonna
be a tough game. It's gonna be a fun game,
but a tough one. So we get to get a
good look at them. I think it'll be all I
don't know, maybe all last time playing them. I don't
know this year, but yes, we'll play them, and we'll
leave Indiana and go to Denver and we'll get a
rematch with the defending champs. You know, we just played
them if it was like two days ago, honestly, but

(20:39):
you know now we're gonna get a rematch at their
at their place. You know, they we just beat them,
so they're definitely gonna have that game to try to
come out and prove a point. And Jokis and Joel,
you know, I had having Joe alo on here.

Speaker 1 (20:51):
You know, we talked.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
We heard what he talked about and how he felt
about Yoki and how he felt like, you know, he's,
you know, probably the greatest or the best player in
the league right now. You know what I'm saying, neck
and neck, and how he's going to go out there
and every single time, no matter if it's joking, no
matter who it is, and he wants to prove a
point that he's the best player in the league. So
I think it for Joell, we can say, or or

(21:13):
Philly fans or Nuggets fan, we can say, it's just
another game. But both of these teams, you know, like
they have the best player in the world. Both of
these teams have championship aspirations. So that always means that
it always makes the game, you know, mean a little
bit more. And the fact that we just played them
not even probably a week and a half ago, you know,
from the game time that we're gonna play them, you know,

(21:34):
it's it's gonna put that much, you know, put that more,
even that much the altitude on the game, you know
what I mean, like the magnitude of the game is
going to be even higher.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
And uh, that's what you that's what you play for. Though.

Speaker 2 (21:44):
It's gonna be a probably a national TV game, I
don't know what network, but it's definitely gonna be a
national TV game. The world will be watching and it will
be another great, another great thing for our sport. You know,
both guys hopefully you know, both guys are healthy and
able to go out there and compete. And that's all
you can ask for is a you know, two guys
and two championship contending teams going out there and competing

(22:04):
and putting it on a performance for.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
The world to see. So that would be another fun one.
You know.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Shout out to the Nuggets, Shout out to the NBA
for hosting that one. You know that would be fun.
But lastly, I want to give a shout out to
the fans, not just Max and the Mike fans. I
appreciate y'all you know as well, but uh, just all
all the fans out there because I have to talk
about All Star. I don't know what or how many

(22:34):
votes that I finished with. I think it's over. I
don't know, but I really do appreciate it because I'm
seeing my name, seeing like a million votes next to
my name is just I don't know, man, I don't
know how to think about it.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
You know, it's it's it brings a smile to my face.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
I know a lot of things to bring a smile
to my face, but that brings a smile to my
face to where I don't know what to.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Say about it.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
Like, it's just I just never I never thought I
would see that, you know. I mean, I know I
work hard for those things. I know I work hard
to to put myself in position to be the best
possible version of Tyrech Maxie for our team and our
organization help us win games. And so that's what I'm
proud of. You know that we're winning games. We're in
a race to be you know, top three team in

(23:16):
the East, and because we've been winning games, you know,
I've had some of these, you know, some performances that
have helped us one of those games, and you know
I have some off star votes and for it to
be over a million, I just want to say, appreciate.
I really appreciate it, like I get to the bottom
from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate all the fans,
Max and the mic and everybody out there that just

(23:38):
listen to this and I will see this that I
really do appreciate. You'll support and uh, I will continue
to work extremely hard to get better every single day
to be the best possible I'm nowhere near the best
possible version tyreech Maxie that I'm going to be when
I saw us and done.

Speaker 1 (23:52):
But I want to continue to work extremely hard to.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
Help us, this organization, win basketball games, help my teammates out,
and you know, try to put on for you fans.
So I actually, you know, it's funny. I'll tell this
quick story for I go into break, Joel comes up
to me and says, you know, how you get more votes?
I said, how do I get more votes?

Speaker 1 (24:12):
Joe? He said, you start dunking the ball.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
So we're in Atlanta, and I missed like two layers
like quiet open crazy layerbs. I never miss, not why them,
but like this lambs, I never miss. So the next
time I come down the lane, I dunk it. I
just throw it in and then it's like, oh, he
Turny's dunk.

Speaker 1 (24:29):
And then I.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
Remember another play comes down. I had no angle to
lay the ball. I drive fast to Johntay Murray. Johntay
for me, another clutch guy and new balance. But I
drive by him and I jumped off.

Speaker 1 (24:43):
My right leg.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
But I can't shoot him with a left let my
left hand because he's on my left side.

Speaker 1 (24:47):
He's gonna block it.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
And then oh, Nika Kwongo, he's on my right side,
so I can't lay it up my right hand. So
I literally just I jump and I have both my
both my hands on the basketball and I just dunk
it like as hard as I can.

Speaker 1 (25:00):
They're gonna action. Look at the shoot he dumps. I
was like, whoa, I ain't. I haven't done that a
like a long time. Maybe it's high school where I've
done you know, done that.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
And then I had another dunk against Houston and he's like, hey,
you keep dunking, you know, you get more vote, you
more fans. But you know, he's funny, man. That's that's
just you know, like I said, that's just the fun
aspect of the league, you know, the word that we
live in. But again, I would say this one more time.
I really do appreciate it and it would mean a
lot to me to be able to represent, you know,
our organization in the All Star Game.

Speaker 1 (25:34):
And hopefully we could win some more games to get this.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
I think at least the two seed gets our coaching
staff in there as well, So that's the plan, you know,
win some more games, move up in the standings, you know,
make sure you know, we get some guys in All
Star Game as well, and we go out there. We
keep competing and we finished out the years strong. So
hads a break right now. You know, I appreciate y'all listening,

(25:57):
And when we come back, I'll tell y'all what I'm
thankful for and what I want to get more percent
better at in the couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Her Bant.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
Porry guys, welcome back to make sure the mic. This week,
I'm gonna say what I'm thankful for. First, I'm thankful
for just health, thankful for thankful for God. I'm thankful
for you know, I'm thankful all those things. And I'm
really thankful for, you know, my teammates. I'm gonna go
with my teammates to this week. And why I say

(26:39):
that is because I've had to face some adversity, you know,
throughout the last couple of weeks or whatever, as far
as just it's.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
Been different from me. You know, when Joe was not
in the court.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
Like I said earlier in the show, defenses and teams
are trying to take away a lot of different things.
It's not just not even taking away like my right
hand or my left hand. It's like taking away taking
the ball out of my hands. And you know, sometimes
you can get frustrated, but you have to continuously make
the right play over and over and over again. And
my teammates to help me with that, you know, they've

(27:08):
they've been great as well. They've just told me, like, hey,
you got a ticket as a sign of respect. Keep
watching film. Find ways how you can still be aggressive
and still help us win games. And that's what I've done,
you know. Shout out to Rico Hines, Shout out to
Terrell Harris, Shout out to Terrey, you know, those guys
who helped me with that.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Shout outs to coach Nurse who's also helped me in
with that.

Speaker 2 (27:26):
And you know, they've been patient with me because, like
I said, this is my first time really seeing defenses
like that's my first time seeing.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
A lot of these different things that I've been seeing.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
So I'm thankful for my teammates, thanking for my coaching staff,
you know, That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Thankful. I'm gonna be thankful for this week.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
And what I want to get one percent better at
this week is you know, It's funny, I've been working
on my defense a lot, you know, this year, and
I've been doing a lot better, you know, doing a
lot better at getting steals, getting some blocks, fighting over screens.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
But one thing that I really want to get better
at it is taking charges.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
I just feel like I've been in a lot of
positions to take charges in the upcoming games. It's just
like I've never been a charge guy. So it's like
I'm either reaching and getting a foul or reaching and
sometimes getting to steal. So some opportunities that I can
get a charge, you know, in these upcoming games, y'all
look out for that, because I'm gonna try to get
a few of those. I know what iut getting hurt.

(28:21):
Of course, No, thank y'all for listening. I'm glad I
got to come on here and talk to y'all. I
know I just said I appreciate y'all, but I really
do appreciate y'all tuning in. I appreciate y'all voting. I
appreciate all the support that y'all give. I hope y'all
like this episode. Rate subscribe to Max and the Mic.
But out y'all enjoyed some football
