Today we will be meditating on Psalm chapter four, verse

eight from the King James version. I will both lay
me down in peace and sleep, for Thou Lord only
makest me dwell in safety. Now take a moment to
pour out your adoration to God, for who he is God,

I will sing of your strength. I will sing out
loud of your steadfast love. Or you have been to
me a fortress and a refuge in the day of
my distress, and my spirit rejoices in Christ, my Savior.

I know that in your hands I can rest assured,
for you will keep me safe from all evil. Safety
is required for sound sleep. People will go to great
lengths to ensure that the place where they rest is secure.

Those who can afford to buy homes in prestigious neighborhoods,
some invest in expensive security systems, and others opt for
having weapons. While there is nothing wrong with doing what
you can to ensure your safety, Your trust must never

rely on earthly means. Your confidence should be placed in
Christ alone. True assurance comes from God, as only He
can guarantee your well being. Abandoned, alone and persecuted, King

David was still able to rest in peace, for he
knew his safety was in God's hands. No matter where
you are or what is happening in your life, God
can calm your heart and provide tranquility for your mind.

Take a moment to open yourself up to the Holy Spirit.
Confess to him your feelings of fear and weariness. Take
a moment now to dwell on God's promise of safety.
Thank Him for always being with you, for watching over you.

Think of the confidence God's word provides, of the comfort
that comes with knowing his attention over you will never
slip or falter. Thank God for his loving kindness and
his compassion and over your life. Give thanks for the

moments He spent ministering to you and keeping you safe
from harm. Thank Him for the peace and tranquility that
comes from knowing He cares for you. Do not forget

God is present and he is listening to you. He
desires to still your fears and to quiet your troubled heart.
Jesus wants to give you serenity in all situations and circumstances,
so let him Pray for complete control over all negative emotions.

Pray for boldness born of His assurance. Ask the Holy
Spirit to teach you to find contentment in the midst
of uncertainty. Ask him to fill your heart with ease

to comfort you in all seasons of life. Remember you
can lie down and sleep in peace or it is
God who keeps you safe. Even in the midst of danger.

You can rest secure because God is guarding you. You
must remember God is in control and nothing happens outside
of His permission. You can choose to rest, take solace

in God's promise to care for you yea, and to
find consolation in the power of His word. Sleep well,
you are safe and secure, for God is holding you.
