Speaker 1 (00:05):
Okay, the NFL season still feeling so far away from
kicking off, and I'm here with Thomas Smith. Dylan sadly
is unable to join us, and so just like the
NFL season, we're still waiting to be at full strength
and enjoy the real product of Thomas. I've got great news.
Fantasy season feels like it's about to be in full
swing because Thursday, I want to preface this like, I'm

(00:28):
wanna be excited. We have football being played. It's the
Hall of Fame game. It's right around the corner. This
is peak fantasy time. But it feels like I know
I'm excited saying that, but the reality is, as I
say that, I know it's going to be crap and
not worth watching after like thirty to forty seconds. So
it's just like just you and I. It's awesome to

(00:48):
have you here. Excited to get to the show back
at full strength of the month of August. But dude,
julys the dead cold season is almost over. We can
actually we can begin to count down the days very
very soon. Great to have you back. It's been a minute, man,
How are you hi, dude.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I'm just happy to be back, man talking football, you know, like.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
We made it, man, we made it. We did.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Thanks for having me back, because this feels really good
to actually like have.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
A game upon us.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
We have what seventy two hours, less than seventy two
hours before we see some actual people hitting each other.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I mean, I don't know if this is so much
behind the scenes less it's way less than seventy two
because you and I are recording this late at night,
fighting some technical difficulties, and that's the thing. We're kick
just like these NFL teams getting back into the swing
of recording every week. You kick off the rust. It's
I love the grind of it. I really really do.
I loved last year me and Dylan just watching every
game taking notes. But we're not there yet, you know

(01:48):
what I mean. Like it's it's the season is upon us.
But it's kind of like Christmas where it's like, oh
my gosh, I can allow myself to start Christmas shopping
right now, but like the peppermintmocha isn't it Starbucks yet?
You know what I mean? And that's how all white
people know that's when Christmas season actually begins. That's kind
of like the key indicator. Yeah, no, there's there's an
email that goes out, Yeah, yeah, noses all a thousand

(02:16):
percent on thousand percent if you're in the South. If
you're in the South, they say, also be offended that
they say happy Holidays and not Merry Christmas. That's a
second email. Yeah, but that is okay. Yeah, no, yeah,
we both got that one for sure, you know, Louisiana, Texas. No, anyway,
speaking of seasons, it's prime.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
It's late at night, it's late, it's late.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
It's a good time, it's a good ready to do it.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
We're ready to do it.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
But seriously, I mean, preseason is in full swing, and
Dylan and I just spent the entire last show warning
people don't pay attention to training camp hype. I'm not
taking my own advice because all I have been doing
has been watching clips after clip of any sort of
especially rookies, especially rookie wide receivers. I have been obsessed

(03:09):
with watching every toe tap, every catch. Guys Guys who
I weren't even high, like very high on going to
the draft, like an Xavier Leguet, he makes a toe
tapping catch that goes all over social media. Could this
be a wide receiver like the allure of what could
be is so palpable right now. So, Thomas, for you,
has there been anything? And I should ask this as

(03:31):
well because you weren't here last week, but like, was
there anything between our last episode in mid June and
now that you've maybe changed your opinion on or a
preseason storyline that you've been trying to like look forward to,
you're excited to see unravel.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
I'm interested to see how the Green Bay back feel
it shakes out.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
Yeah, I'm like I'm feeling the march Dawn Lloyd love.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
I feel like they love that kid, and every time
they talk about him, it's something glowing about his is
his ball skills, being able to catch the ball out
the backfield, how he losive he is, how fast he is.
And we talked about this and I actually was like,
I think the last time we talked, we talked about
the top ten running backs, and I think I had
like Josh Jacobs ten. I'm pushing him down my list now.

(04:15):
I don't believe that they're going to I think they're
gonna use Josh Jacobs this year.

Speaker 3 (04:19):
Don't get me wrong.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
I wouldn't like go be so bold to say drop him,
but look to sell him if you can, because I
don't think besides this year, it's going anywhere else.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
I'm so glad you're on the same page with me
about that. Marshaw Lloyd has been rising in my rings
for quite some time and don't want to get ahead
of myself. We're gonna be talking redraft on this show,
because the reality is Dynasty becomes redraft if you're a
win now team. But Josh Jacobs, for me, especially in redraft,
I play a lot of best ball at this time
just to kind of satiate that appetite, you know what

(04:49):
I mean. Like the rookie drafts are over, Josh Jacobs
has been off my board for a long time. And
that's not to say he can't have a good season,
but especially in Dynasty, I'm shipping him out because Matt
Lafleur has always the committee and AJ Dillon so disappointing.
I mean, I feel like the Packers as a whole
are gonna have a lot more rushing success, but I
think Josh Jacobs only gets at most, at most sixty

(05:12):
percent of it because Lafleur has always believed in the committee,
and frankly, that's what that's what Jacobs needs to operate
at at this point in his career if he's going
to succeed. And on top of that, Jacobs was only
ever successful because he was a volume based back. He
was never somewhat. We've never seen Josh Jacobs in a committee,
so I'm off of him as well. But that doesn't
mean he won't have boom games. It doesn't mean he's

(05:32):
going to fall off a cliff on with the on
the field stuff either. I'm with you there.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Well, I say I would say that this is what
I yeah that just from just watching I know some
people who are actually Packers fans, and just like the
b reporters and everything, this offense is going to be
so liquidated amongst everyone. You only want you want to
try to get Jordan Love. That's who you want to
try to get. Everybody else I think is reduced to

(05:59):
a flex best.

Speaker 3 (06:00):
You don't. I don't think you.

Speaker 2 (06:01):
Want anybody in your top in like your top three
receivers or your top two backs. You want to have
a Green Bay Packer as a flex because there will
be more bus weeks than boom weeks, because there's so
many mobs to feed.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
You know, I think that's actually I'll say this, and
it depends on format. Like obviously in a dynasty situation,
I agree with you, especially at the receiver position. It's
kind of like a it's a dart throw week to week.
I love Christian Watson in Best Ball, D'antavian Wakes in Bestball.
Jaden Reid I think is actually going to be the
most steady guy. I'm I'm a fan of that. But
all of them are priced right now, depending on your league,

(06:36):
at a place where I'd be willing to take a shot.
But I think you're right, it's hard to know who
to build around. There's none of them. I would plant
my flag and say it's clearly absolutely going to be
this guy and you can count on it. And so
that's exciting. But speaking to speed of Jordan Love, this
brings us to kind of the first topic of the episode.
Between last episode now we've had some quarterbacks getting paid

(06:56):
Jordan Love highest paid quarterback contract. I mean, it's it's
incredible to see just from last year, is this guy
even going to be a starter? Did the Packers make
a mistake to now being you know, it's fifty five
something million a year highest paid quarterback high spayed player
in the NFL. He'll probably get jumped by Dak Prescott

(07:17):
in hopefully a couple of weeks here. If you're a
Cowboys fan, I actually think I know why Dylan couldn't
make it on the show tonight. I think he's embarrassed
to admit how correct I was about Jordan Love.

Speaker 3 (07:28):
Again.

Speaker 1 (07:28):
It's just me being right in his face again, and
he didn't want to face that tonight because last season
I was getting all kinds of crap with being told
Jordan Love would even be a top ten DYNA c
QB Thomas after this contract. How do you view Jordan
Love in the landscape? You know we're doing a startup draft.
Where do you draft Jordan Love now knowing that he's
got a long term future in Green Bay Security?

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Man, that's a tough one. I think.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
I don't think I'm in the minority when it comes
to like thinking like Jordan Love is overpaid.

Speaker 3 (07:57):
Like he shaid, there's no way he should be the.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Number one pay the highest paid quarterback in the NFL.
He played really well last year for probably I would
say the first half of.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
The season was rocky.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Man.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
If you remember us, if.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
We put yet like, yeah, if we don't have a
recence advis we take our recency bias hands aft.

Speaker 3 (08:18):
That first half of the season was rocky, so we
bet on.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Yeah. Like they look like, yeah, the Vikings look like
they would make the playoffs still with Kirk out and
Justin coming back with a backup right now, No.

Speaker 3 (08:32):
I and I I like, I watched a lot of
those games, and I'm.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
I still think that there is a ceiling he hasn't
hit yet, so I would be cautious in drafting him.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
I'll probably put him.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I would put him in my top ten quarterbacks for sure,
but I'm not sure I'm putting him over like the
people who I know are going to produce the way
that they have for multiple seasons. And I'm talking about
people like the Lamar Jackson sends, the Kyler Murray's, people
like that, who can get you those boom weeks.

Speaker 1 (09:06):
I think right now.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Okay, well, I mean I wouldn't say that you're wrong
for taking him over Kyler.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
But what I'm saying though, you're right.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
But I feel like we want to push him higher
than that. We want to push him higher than that.
But that's a point flip. I don't think that there's
a wrong choice or a right choice with Kyla and Jordan's.
But if you're telling me that head and shoulders, I'm like,
Jordan Love is a top five, top six quarterback based
on the way he say and based on the talent

(09:40):
around him, I think people are going to be I
think people are going to be really it's going to
be really hard to negotiate feels for him right now
because people are gonna want you to pay a high
price for him at this moment, and I don't think
we've seen him be worth that just yet, and I'm
gonna I have caused his optimism when it comes to him.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
You know, I think I don't think you're I'm a
Jordan Love fan obviously, you know he was one of
my guys for last year.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
But I.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Agree with you in that, like if they're for whatever reason,
this sentiment makes him worth significantly more than a Justin
Herbert who's finished at quarterback too. You know, we've only
seen one season of Jordan Love finished at quarterback.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
Five.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
If I can get Herbert plus a first for Jordan Love,
I'm doing that all day because he's in that tier
right and he's a pocket passer, and I think we
talked about the rushing game in Green Bay just before this, right,
they only scored I want to say, six rushing touchdowns
and three of those were Jordan Love. They scored three
rushing touchdowns with their running backs. Last season. They threw

(10:45):
in the in the red zone a ton, I believe
that's going to regress more towards the average. I don't
think he's gonna throw as many red zone touchdowns. So
I think his touchdown maybe maybe I have some better yardage,
but I think his touchdowns are gonna come down a
bit simply because they're gonna be able to punch it in.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
You know, that's a great point.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
Aaron Jones, who was dominant when he got to the playoffs,
was hurt majority of the season with his hamstring injury,
and AJ Dillon was.

Speaker 3 (11:08):
Not in good shape.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
AJ Dillon looked like, I mean, he's never been the
player we actually wanted him to be. But he didn't
show he didn't show that he could carry a load,
so they had to pass the ball. So now you're
looking at a more balanced attack, like you said, and
when you get to the red zone, yeah, you gonna
have a lot more rushing even though Josh Jacobs me

(11:30):
only last year, he's not washed just yet.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
And Lloyd is gonna want to They're gonna want to
run Marshawn Lloyd.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
AJ Dillon is supposed to be quote unquote in the
best shape in his life.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
I don't know if that's true. I'm willing to bet
that's just training in camp talk.

Speaker 1 (11:46):
But those are the narratives you have to defend against.
I was reminded, I forget who posted it. I'm not
giving him credit. I saw a great Twitter thread that
talked it highlighted four articles, and Dylan and I talked
about this last yow like Jamar Chase had drops in
in in preseason camp and justin Herbert struggling c J.

(12:09):
Stroud's interceptions. I saw like, like, you don't want to
overreact to him, but like the coach speak, there's nothing
more telling when a washed player gets hyped by their
coaches just because they need to. Just he's taking a
step back, he's lost. Oh he's still a guy here,
we best shape of his life. It's like, bro, we
know you're lying. It was it was it in the
contract that aj Dillon signed when he took less money like,

(12:30):
you got to talk real sweet to me, like what
are we? What are we talking about here?

Speaker 3 (12:35):
Yeah? Let me.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
I'm the type of person that if someone's being overly
nice to me, like in a team or a competitive situation,
to try to like hype me up, I get so
offended because that means you don't see me as a threat,
Like you're like, well, we really appreciate what he could.
I'm like, how dare you think I need your help?
Like I just that would that being said? Aj Dillon
is more more athletic in his left foot than I've
ever been in my life. But still I like the

(12:58):
dog on him because he hurt me. He hurt me
the first year I ever drafted.

Speaker 3 (13:01):
I thought it was gonna hurt everyone.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
Since he got drafted, we expect this so much out
of him, and you know, he's had.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Every opportunity he really has, he really has. We just
turned into a Packers podcast for like a solid right there. Uh,
let's let's head south to Let's head south to Miami, Florida.
The Dolphins. Tua gets a long term deal as well.
I am gonna go on record and saying that Miami Dolphins,
Miami Dolphins will look back on this as the day

(13:31):
they they killed their opportunity to make a deep playoff
push with their franchise. I believe to unequivocally I am.
I am of the opinion Toua is a bad NFL quarterback.
He's average at best, and then you just paid him
big time money because Mike mcdalil'sa This is a death
note to your organization. I am an anti to a fan.

(13:51):
I've realized that through this process there's a great uh Like,
here's a fun stat for you. Do you want to
know how much, like Dak Prescott to uh Jordan Love,
those guys take up of their current team's salary cap
right now? It ranges from twenty four percent at the
high end to about twenty to twenty one. So anyone

(14:13):
on those on those deals where they have around you know,
forty forty five plus up to fifty plus, which is
certainly what two is making. You're making a huge portion
of the cap. You know what brock Party counts against
for the San Francisco forty nine right now point zero
point four to five of a percent against the cap.
This is why it's a death note. This is why
it's Jalen Wattles, the stud devon a chan I think

(14:35):
is gonna have a good year. Like Mike McDaniel's an
incredible offensive coach. You can't pay everyone. You got rid
of Christian Wilkins, who is a difference maker in the NFL,
who is special at his position, who isn't a system player,
because you had to pay Tua. This is why the
Dolphins aren't going to succeed. I don't think Tua. I
think Tua is like his ceiling is is Dak Prescott

(14:57):
on a down year. I am anti Tua full stop.
That being said, for fantasy purposes. For fantasy purposes, I
think you're gonna get back in QB one high end
QB two played for the next three four years. As
long as you have Mike McDaniels your head coach, the
offense is going to be good. So all of that
to say, you're stoked if you have him a dynasty
because now they're po committed to him.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
Yeah, I don't think I'm I think I'm more of
a to a fan than you are. I think I
don't think he's a bad quarterback quote unquote bad quarterback.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
I don't I do think that he is.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
I think is exactly what I was saying about Jordan
Love as far as like he has a ceiling that
he still can hit. I think we saw to a ceiling.
I think we've seen to a ceiling. I think Tua
is Tua. I think Tua is Tua and last year.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Was his ceiling.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Now the problem with that is if you look back
at Tua's resume even before last year, you have boom
games and you have games what he doesn't just show
up at all, Like.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
I'm talking about no time, two interceptions, one hundred.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
And fifty yards and then the next game four hundred yards.
And then you look back at the end of the
season and you say, oh.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
He threw twenty nine touchdowns. He threw four five hundred yards.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Well, most of that came in six games when he
was playing lesser competition.

Speaker 3 (16:15):
Tua can beat up on lesser competition just right.

Speaker 1 (16:20):
That's Tyreek kill. Yeah, and it's stilling the time that's
what a fandas it's the time kill and the devon ach.
It's like, bro, these weapons aren't just good weapons. These
are like Tyreek kills. A Hall of Famer, we'll probably
go down and that means I mean it does right now. Hey,
that's the kind of content we're consuming. You see all
the Madden ratings, like Kuka's at eighty four, Like people

(16:41):
are pissed. It's like that's the time of it. It's like, oh,
it's almost it's almost football season. We're right there. But yeah,
that's my thing with Tua is that I think as
long as you can afford the Tyreek kill and I
would say Jaylen Waddle as well, as long as they
can continue to draft incredible weapons, Tua is going to
be fantasy relevant. As soon as those weapons leave, he
is going to be crappy. Is eighty five cents on

(17:02):
the Jared Goff dollar and he's costing you twice the price.

Speaker 2 (17:05):
Like, I'm going back to your point when you were
talking about Rock Party. That is why San Francisco has
the deepest roster in the entire league because they're not
paying a quarterback like and all of and speaking of quarterbacks,
like they're gonna pay Rock Purty.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
They're gonna have to pay him, but oh.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Yeah, yeah, he's probably gonna have to play another year
under the same contract and hopefully I'm sure they're hoping
to make the Super Bowl in that time.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
But or win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
But when you're talking about quarterbacks, it is over the
market is oversaturated for quarterbacks, like damn throwing money left
and right at quarterbacks who have not done much of anything.

Speaker 3 (17:43):
Maybe made the playoffs, maybe you.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
Know, thrown for four thousand yards, but everybody's getting paid
like their Patrick Mahomes like that, Josh Allen, like their
you know, uh Lamar Jackson when they I don't know
if they should, but it's like pay pray and hope
instead of we see it on a field, then you
pay them.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
No, dude, honest, I like I would adopt the model
of just drafting and developing a rookie every four years
unless you could find a guy who's willing. And if
I was an NFL QB once again it's hard to know,
I would literally go, hey, I will give you blank contract,
like I'll give you the hometown discount if I in turn,

(18:29):
can have some say as to who you use that
extra cap I'm giving you, Like if I was a quarterback,
it's like, hey, I want to be eighteen percent of
your cap. Yeah, but get I get to say, and
like my home signed that ten year, half a billion
dollar deal and it gave them flexibility where he could
work with them, and like, that's so brilliant. That's so
brilliant because it allows you to be, like I want
to be a good QB. I need to be surrounded

(18:49):
by weapons. And so I just think that there's a
lot of guys that are sexy names now that in
two years in Dynasty, when the weapons leave, you see
them very, very differently. And I will say this, I
feel at Jordan Love. I don't feel that way about him.
I gotta be honest, I don't. There's no weapon that
brought him up and above. Like he's connected to a
great head coach for sure, but there was no weapon

(19:10):
that made him what he was. He looked great, he
had time to develop, he knew the playbook, He's got
a great arm. I think Jordan Love can be a
top ten. I don't think Jordan Love is ever going
to reach Lamar. I don't think he's ever going to
be a top three, top five guy in the NFL.
But I think he's going to be that Dak Prescott consistent,
you know, like QB nine, QB eight year after year,
and you can be you can build around that specifically,

(19:32):
you know, especially in super flex.

Speaker 3 (19:34):
Those are what we're talking about.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
It you're talking about dynasty versus real life, which is
a little different.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
But like you said, like.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Building the franchise, you pay that quarterback, and Jordan Love
had a great season. They won, They won that playoff
game in Dallas, took San Francisco down to the wire.
So I'm not against them paying him to stay, but
to beat a number one quarterback and to get paid
the most first season, you bet it's you better show
up like that every single season.

Speaker 1 (20:03):
No, but that's Thomas. He's going to get lead frogged
in two days. It doesn't if you're a top fifteen
QB in the NFL. The way that the cap is
going and just the way supplying demand works, your agent
is basically like, look, someone else will give him this.
It's just supplying it. It has less to do with
the talent on the QB and more to do with
the scarcity of the overall talents. Like you just have

(20:24):
to be in the conversation, you know, So it is
what it is.

Speaker 2 (20:28):
What I'm saying is just to put a ball on
what I'm saying is when you haven't seen it and
you're willing to pay for it. Yes, they're scarcely as
a position, but you just made a point. You said
you'd rather have rookie quarterback come in and play on.

Speaker 3 (20:40):
A rookie contract. You can prepare for that.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
You can say, okay, not saying we're going to tank,
but you can say, oh, we're going to let him
play out his deal or whatever, and then next year
if he, you know, fulfills whatever.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
Promised he had, we'll pay him then.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
But people are doing it before they actually have to, because,
like you said, they're scarcity at the position. But yeah,
I mean, if you want to take the rod of
having rookie quarterbacks.

Speaker 3 (21:07):
You can do that as well. Do it right now.
Minnesota they like they didn't have to pay Kirk.

Speaker 1 (21:14):
Yeah, well they paid, but no, they paid Kirk for
a while and then after an achilles tare they moved on.
We'll see how the JJ McCarthy thing goes, because it
looks like Sam Donald's going to be starting, which I
think is actually a good idea to start. But we
will get into more preseason stories. So right after this,
we're gonna take a break. We gotta take break, Thomas.
We could talk about Tua and Jordan.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
No breaks.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Breaks no breaks.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
No breaks.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
We gotta save we gotta save room for the commercials.
So we will be back and continue to debate this
right after this. Despite your protest, Thomas, we did take
a break. But I get it. Man, You're hyped. You
want to go. It's all gas. You want to fly.
You want to just get through this. It's been a
while and you're itching to get through the content. I
totally understand. You know who else is itching to make

(21:57):
a make a splash? Who demands ends the ball every play?
This is the wide receiver I'm the most excited about
so far based on preseason high Molik Neighbors is on
my feed every time I open Twitter. I have been
absolutely stoked to see the Giants have a playmaker because
as a cowboy fan, I'm fine if they don't have

(22:19):
any playmakers. But like, I'm a big Molak Neighbors fan.
I've had shares of him in a fun league I
play in. But Thomas, I want to take some time
to just chat about, like, what do you think the
impact if Molik Neighbors is everything we think he can
be and based on what we're seeing from training camp,
which I think you can have some takeaways from training
camp for a position like receiver. How athletic is this guy?

(22:40):
How does he look catching the ball? You know, things
of that nature. But if he is everything we think
he can be, what does that do for Daniel Jones?
We just got, you know, done talking about all these
quarterback You know, you don't like that Jordan Love is
being paid. He's being paid. You know who's actually on
a discount deal that could work Staniel Jones. I watched
and have been watching the Hard Knocks with the offseason
Giants situation, you know, to once again satiate that football appetite.

(23:04):
I'm really interested as to where the Giants are going
to be in about a year or two. Are you
a Daniel Jones believer? Does you do you believe that
molite neighbors can rescue Daniel Jones? Or are you excited
about neighbors and just out on Jones no matter what happens.

Speaker 2 (23:19):
First of all, let me just say you're a smart
man for picking the LSU Tiger as the guy that
most hyped about.

Speaker 3 (23:25):
You're not You're not gonna lose that argument. That is me.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
That's wide receiver, you, that is wide receiver you. There's
no question, Yes, sir, go to uh So, I'm not
in on Daniel Jones.

Speaker 2 (23:40):
I'm not in on Daniel Jones. I don't think elite
neighbors can save Daniel Jones. And the reason I say
that is because, first of all, Daniel Jones is coming
off an injury, the reports out of campus, he's missing
on his d balls and everything.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
Now, that could be just Russ, but was he ever
a big deep ball thrower. I can't remember.

Speaker 2 (23:57):
Him actually completing a lot of.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
He passes, So Maliku nabors being as good as he is, I.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Don't know if he's enough. But I also am not
going to place all the blame on Daniel Jones. I
really don't think Brian dave Ball has done a great
job of coaching in the last couple of years, and
I won't place that on on Daniel Jones because I
think a lot of that has to do with the
personnel decisions.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
I mean, like some of these.

Speaker 2 (24:26):
Guys that they brought in or like they like, why
is Darius Slayton still starting? Why is Darius Slayton like
still a guy.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
Like he was a sixth round pick. He played the
first year. But you said Phil Very's position somehow.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
No, I would say, Jalen Hyatt, no, just hear me out.
Darius Slayton was always They tried to move on from
Darius Slayton. They just kept signing guys. He was beating out.
Kenny Galladay gone. And that's not all day Ball. By
the way, David's only been there. This is coming up
on year three for day Ball. You know, his first year.
Daniel Jones has his best year ever, rushes a Ton,
They go win a playoff game against the Vikings.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
They had the easiest schedule in the league. I do.
I think a lot of that had to do with
just some luck.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
But that's fine, you know, it's solid. I'm with you
on personal. The reality is we haven't seen Daniel Jones
throw the ball deep in a long time because Odell
Beckham left for the Browns what six years ago, and
it ended. It ended any traction Daniel Jones had. They
tried to fill a position with some weapons, Cadarius Tony

(25:28):
and Wanda Robinson Sterling Shepherd wasn't able to you know,
he couldn't stay healthy. H Jalen High is the most
recent guy, but yet Malik Neighbors looks like a certified
weapon with or without Daniel Jones, And that's the kind
of weapon Daniel Jones needs to even have a shot
to be relevant ever again. But yeah, I think it's

(25:49):
it's a tough question, and I'll be honest, I was
asking you because I don't have an answer myself. Because
if Neighbors can rescue Jones, Daniel Jones is still a
screaming value right now. He's he is someone to go
purchase on the cheap and take a shot on because
he's still young. It's it's a it's a smaller contract
so they can surround him with talent over time. But

(26:10):
I just get the sense that Neighbors will will be fine,
and he'll flash and be great and be an attractive
receiver for a different QB to come and want to
work with when they move on from Jones.

Speaker 3 (26:21):
Oh, I completely agree with that. I you know, let
me let me say this.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
I think a lot of that has to do with
they've been a lot they've been very unlucky, Darren Waller,
very unlucky.

Speaker 3 (26:33):
That that way. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Yeah, and and you know I'm not that's not lost
on me.

Speaker 3 (26:40):
But I will see somebody.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
Look, somebody has to pay the piper. Somebody's got to
take the fall, you know what I'm saying. They've drafted
a lot, They put a lot of UH draft picks
into offensive linemen. They haven't signed really good free agents.
They just haven't for for whatever reason it has it.
If it doesn't work out, somebody has to take the
blame for that.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
The organization.

Speaker 2 (27:03):
The organization drafting elite neighbors, I think was the first
major step in the right direction because you.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
Got Jalen High, but we haven't seen Jalen High do
anything yet.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
It's all promised. All these people that they have on
the team are promised. They got Devin Secretary, who is
a middling back. They don't have a tight end that
is established or that we've seen produced anything.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
So right now, right now.

Speaker 2 (27:28):
I would say, if you're going to buy Daniel Jones,
you buy him. If you could get Daniel Jones for
two seconds, maybe like.

Speaker 1 (27:38):
Two fifty seconds in a super super flex deeper league,
like not twelve team, I wouldn't in a twelve team.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
I was thinking sixteen. I was thinking sixteen, and it's
all yeah, not twenty five. First, I wouldn't give you
twenty five.

Speaker 1 (27:53):
You're making me happy because I sold Daniel Jones for
I think a first and a second right before training
camp started. And I gotta be honest. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
shout out Brooks best best golfer I know in my
phone book. But I think I robbed him on that trade.
But I was watching these Blige Neighbors highlights and I
was kind of like, maybe he won it. Maybe it

(28:14):
was a uh yeah, I kind of.

Speaker 3 (28:20):
Keep it healthy.

Speaker 1 (28:21):
Yeah, that's a big case.

Speaker 3 (28:23):
Last couple of years.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
And here's what I'll say, And this is what I
feel is a pretty It's an obvious piece of advice,
but I think we're all, especially this time of year,
prone to forget it. Quarterbacks that aren't on winning teams
don't get to keep their jobs even if they have
great statistics. And you know, I saw I saw Sam
Howe a tweet of Sam how Sam Howe's like gained

(28:47):
a bunch of like looks, bouncy Sam Howe statistically, I
thought like he's putting in numbers with with the Commanders,
you know what I mean. But they're a losing team.
I don't expect the Giants to win a bunch of games.
That's the true. I still the Cowboys are head and
show better than him. The Eagles are headed shoulders better
than him an in division. So I just don't think
Daniel Jones. I don't think the Giants will be able

(29:07):
to win enough games without it. But I do think
Neighbors is the truth man, Like he's he's gonna be
incredible to watch, and I'm I don't think the gap
between him and Marvin Harrison, especially in year one, like
it wouldn't surprise me at all if Neighbors had a
better year one than Marvin Harrison. I think why, you
you know, why people were hyping for Marvin Harrison is
that he's gonna be boring and great for years, Like

(29:29):
he's going to be a top twelve guy no matter what,
for ten years, and you just pencil it in. It
might not be as flashy as a one time season
from a Neighbors or someone else, but yeah, I just
think I'm really really excited about see him. Is there
another Is there been a training camp video or anyone
else that you've been stoked to see? Has anyone caught
your eye? It doesn't have to be a rookie. I

(29:51):
know Jsn's been making some plays that have given me
a lot of value since he's one of two players
in our league of record that I can actually be
excited to build around.

Speaker 2 (29:59):
I am listen Javon Baker every time I turn on
my feed. This dude is making some kind of downfield
play or some kind of catch or jumping out like
out of the building, the over a cornerback.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
He's just I don't I don't know what's going on
in New England. I don't know Quack.

Speaker 1 (30:20):
Proof, I know exactly what's going on.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
In two years, you might have another Stefan Diggs. You
might have another guy like that.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Two things. Here's the quote about Javon Baker that he said,
I make when I play, I make people in wheelchairs
stand up right. You gotta either you are either gonna
immediately be impactful and great, or you're gonna be the
one of the biggest busts. You're gonna be a crappy
hor You're not evenna make the team kind of thing.
So far, it looks like the former. It looks like
he's gonna you know, he's gonna be a guy. But

(30:52):
I know exactly why this is happening. Your brother, the
infant Michael Smith mm hmm, always steals a training camp
superstar for me, dude, I thought I robbed him. You
and I did a trade for Javon Baker and he
was a throw in piece. What was the deal we

(31:13):
did where you threw him in? Because it was like
a and he was interesting enough to me, like he
wasn't my guy, he wasn't someone whose college team was like, yeah,
I got.

Speaker 3 (31:23):
It you ready.

Speaker 2 (31:24):
So I made a trade with Michael Holly for Jaydon
Reid and I gave him Sakir and I gave him
Javon Baker and it was very even trade and he
traded you probably the next day.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
Javon Baker for I traded.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
I traded Robert, I traded him. I didn't trade Daniel
Jones Brooks. I apologize. I just shouted. I shouted out
the best golfer I know, and I swung and missed.
It was Michael Holly who traded for Daniel Jones. I
was in Hawks with Brooks and the Daniel Jones trade
he threw in. It was JSN a second Baker and

(32:08):
Javon Baker, and I threw something back towards him or
something like that. I forget what it was. And uh, yeah,
so I have Javon Baker on my roster and your
brother calls me, and my favorite quote about Mike, a
different league man I was playing with in a different
league said, Mike keeps losing trades and then his team

(32:29):
keeps getting better. Because at the time Mike calls me
and I'm like, he's bored. He gives me two seconds
for Javon Baker and someone else, and I was like,
in my head, I was like, I feel like this
guy's gonna go off and gonna be this year's Pooka
Akua because I tried to get Pooka from your brother
last year famously, Like I've talked about it on the
show again and again. He was like, no, I'm not
gonna do it. And Mike claims like, oh, I got
no insider knowledge. I'm like, yeah, bs. Javon Baker the moment,

(32:54):
the moment I traded him to Mike, He's destined to
be a superstar.

Speaker 3 (32:57):
I just know it.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
I'm cursed to have given him away. I got to
he's in price at the time, but the market appreciated
I old bitcoin when it was at three grand, you
know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 2 (33:07):
Imagine trading football cards with my brother growing up some way, somehow,
he always got like the rookie barriers saying in his
card or something, Man, I'm like stuck with like personal
war counselors man.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Minnesota Viking card or something.

Speaker 1 (33:22):
How how did you know who wants the herschel Walker
Minnesota Vikings card is Cowboys fans, Because that's the only
reason we won in the nineties, that trade, that's the
only thing we can eat off of. Speaking of the
Cowboys in our pain, Yeah, for dynasty purposes, I don't
even talk about how dysfunctional the Cowboys are coming off.

(33:44):
Right now, we're all in. We're not signing any of
our stars, all of who are whom I would say
top ten at their position, if not top five. Dak
is flirting with that line, obviously, but Micah and Ceedee Lamb,
no question, none of them are paid it. For fantasy purposes,
if if Dak goes in on a on a contract here,
I'm buying him in redraft. Is there a world Let's

(34:07):
say he goes to I'm trying to think of a
team that I can't even fathom it. But let's say
he goes to a middling team like Tampa. You know,
no Holy cow, that would happen. Holy cal what's your
fantasy opinion of him if he goes to the Giants.
I don't even want to fathom that. That's like blasphemy,
But tell me more.

Speaker 2 (34:28):
I think it's no man, I'm sorry. I think Dak
can still be a serviceable quarterback within another organization.

Speaker 3 (34:39):
Like I don't think they're gonna.

Speaker 2 (34:40):
Be wasting money on that. But that's Dak's gonna need
a clean pocket. He's gonna have to have the right situation,
and whoever signs him is gonna be able to like,
is not gonna find a quarterback that's gonna change their
fortunes overnight without getting him what he needs around him.

Speaker 3 (34:58):
He needs a stable pocket, he needs a tight end.

Speaker 2 (35:01):
And he needs a number one That's what he needs,
and possibly a good running game to go to boot.

Speaker 3 (35:06):
But if you if you could get him a number
one receiver like a elite.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Neighbors, a tight end he could trust, and a good
offensive line, that would be fine.

Speaker 3 (35:14):
Wavy Goes, I think you.

Speaker 1 (35:15):
Know you know I would love to see him. I
would love to see him obviously as a cowboy. I'd
like to I'm of the opinion just pay him, like
we're not. He is a top ten QB. You can win,
you can win a Super Bowl with him. I like
his first playoff loss was not his fault. I remember
it was the Aaron Rodgers to Jared Cook game.

Speaker 3 (35:32):
It was terrible.

Speaker 1 (35:33):
But if he goes to Seattle, let's say he gets
for whatever reason, like the Cowboys don't work out a deal,
he goes to Seattle with JSN and DK, I would
love that's because that's something that's a team that needs
a younger, younger QB that you know, is Dak Prescott
right now as good as Russell Wilson was when he
left the Seattle Seahawks. I think so. So that would

(35:54):
rescue a lot of fantasy options and that would be
really interesting. I would enjoy that. But I say that
knowing full well it's like that is dark days ahead
from my hometown team.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
As a Cowboys fan, you all in like, you like,
just pay him, get it over with, right, because like
we all sit on deck, But THATK is.

Speaker 1 (36:14):
Dak is one of Dak is one of the here's
the problem with Dak, Like he if he wasn't a
Cowboys QB, he'd be one of the most loved NFL
qbs of all time because the numbers, the excellence, the
poise he always plays with. He's had bad seasons interceptions
wise and otherwise, but it's always been kind of coordinator based.
He's he's won with his legs early in his career.

(36:35):
He's had crazy hot you know, he led the league
in touchdown passes last year, had an incredible rookie season.
Is a great leader, like that's always been his thing.
He's a great locker room guy. He's he's kind of
in that. This sounds weird to say, but like the
Philip Rivers, Matthew Stafford to like Matthew Stafford, was it not?
Obviously Detroit is a very different situation, but Matthew Stafford

(36:57):
always had like incredible numbers. This is a slept guy. Dak,
for the opposite reason, kind of gets the same bias.
We didn't love Matthew Stafford because he was in a
small market team that got no attention. Everyone hates on
DAK because he's in the biggest market team that gets
maybe too much attention. Dak isn't Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson,
Joe Burrow, Josh Allen. I would definitely probably still take it.

(37:20):
If I could trade for CJ. Stroud, I probably would,
even though arguably I would not be surprised at all
if Stroud has a lesser career than Dak in the end.
Not just I'm in on Stroud, I rank him higher,
the same with Jordan Love. All these guys are hoping
to have a career. Like, if you have a career
like Dak, it's a super successful career. So I'm I'm
just like, unless we're tearing it all the way down
to the studs, which we don't need to pay the man,

(37:44):
what do we pay him for ten years? Save money
that way amortize the cost that I don't freaking know.
Just ugh, it's annoying, man, it's an I think Jerry
might be seen.

Speaker 3 (37:51):
I don't know, No, I I mean so as a
as a Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (37:55):
Fan, this is kind of how what I think when
I think about him not paying a CD.

Speaker 3 (38:00):
I'm not paying Dak right now.

Speaker 2 (38:01):
I'm wondering when you can answer this probably better than
I can't. Do you think we got an MS Smith
situation on our hands where we get two three games
in the season, ceedee, Lamb's.

Speaker 3 (38:10):
Not on the field. That's still gonna play. We know
Dak's gonna play no matter what.

Speaker 2 (38:14):
But Ceedee Lamb's not on the field because he's holding out,
and Jerry just is forced to have to pay him,
Like is he Well, he draws us out up until
it's like either week one or we already into the
season at this point.

Speaker 1 (38:30):
You know, I I want to say it seems no,
it does, but but Jerry. The only thing I can
say is Jerry's kind of made references to the fact
that this this NFL Sunday ticket settlement, which is a
very big deal, fourteen billion dollars. By the way, I'm
a i'm a I'm a I'm a plaintiff, I'm a

(38:50):
Sunday if we if I'm signing up, wait a minute,
you get a refund. I'm I'm gonna have a Sunday
ticket for six years now. Fantasy is anatic justify. But
I think I think he's made He's alluded to the
idea that hey, the cap gone went up a lot,
but the cap might go down because of this lawsuit,

(39:12):
and so that's the excuse right now. But that's not actionable,
you know, And I think Ceedee Lamb, this is gonna
sound blasphemous to say. I think now is the time
to sell Ceedee Lamb in Dynasty. I was in the
league as a fun league, pretty good league. There's there's
like seven good owners. A couple guys like I'm just
here because I you know, for kicks and giggles, a
couple guys I play frisbee with. There's some there's some

(39:33):
very good owners there. One of the better ones he's
trying to make a push this year and just try
to win it all. He traded me Justin Jefferson straight
up for Ceedee Lamb because he felt it gave him
a better chance to win this year. And in that league,
you can reset the league really quickly. I think people
are overvaluing Ceedee Lamb based on a you know, we
talked about Jordan Love with like the red zone touchdowns,

(39:55):
things like that. There was no one else to throw
the ball to. And I think maybe one more season
of that continues. This isn't always going to be the
case for Ceedee Lamb, you know what I mean. I
really don't believe he's never he's going to have the
amount of target share he's he's been given now on
this offense, especially if he's holding out like this.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
I look, I'm not I'm not going to take too
much time because we talked about too much, too much
Cowboys stuff. But I said it in our earlier podcast.
I'm gonna double down right now. CD Lamb's numbers were
completely inflated. That's numbers were completely inflated last season. They
had a run from like week twelve to eighteen or
something where they were they were bottom six.

Speaker 3 (40:33):
Yes, Devin defense in the league and they rolled them.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
Yeah, but it's there's an emotional connection to that as
a fantasy player that sticks in your mind, you know,
when you like Dylan correctly pointed out to me last season,
George Pickens love is is you know, long and famous
and all that. But I doubled down on it because
Pickens had those two games in playoffs in a Redract

(41:00):
league for me and won me the league.

Speaker 3 (41:02):
Like he did not have a good playoff game?

Speaker 1 (41:04):
Correct, Well, well, no, CD went off in the playoffs
for a lot of.

Speaker 3 (41:07):
People, he did have one. Oh no, you're talking about
talk about fantasy Fantasy playoffs.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
Fantasy play CD went nuclear. CD went nuclear in Fantasy
playoffs in that strip you talked about, Yeah, exactly, but
in weeks, you know, like one to five they were bad.
We talked about the Sam Frame game. It was like
CD had like seven targets. It was like, this is atrocious.
And so I'm not saying ceede, Lamb isn't gonna be great.

(41:33):
I think he is great, but is he going to
be Is he going to you know, be a thirty
to a thirty three percent target share player that can
single handedly move an offense the rest of his career. No,
And we saw that in playoffs to some extent, like
he won't.

Speaker 3 (41:48):
Do what he did last year again.

Speaker 2 (41:51):
And at least now, at least with him just being
the main guy, they're gonna double him.

Speaker 3 (41:56):
He's not going to get one hundred and thirty receptions.
This is not gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
It is very true. Dude. We have so many training
camp stuff we can be talking about, but like it's
just this, It's no, No, we shouldn't apologize because the
reality is it is that season of like football is
really coming back, and it's easy for me to talk
about my hometown team and all the expectations that story,
and you know, the the reality is there isn't as
much actionable fantasy advice and news right now as we

(42:23):
as we maybe pretend and and like there to be.
So it's good. Let's take a break on the other
side of this. Let's talk about the only actionable news
we can sign our names to. Let's talk about a
trade or a move we are making in this current market.
Right after this, we are back and in full swing,
much like the preseason uh Thomas Texans versus Cleveland coming

(42:49):
up Thursday. Man, I don't feel like we're going to
see many of any of the real starters. You know,
these are the and neither team drafted a exciting rookie
that I can think of that I'm like, I want
to see. And the thing I want the most clarity
on for the Texans is who's going to be the
wide receiver one this season? You know, kind of going

(43:11):
into that year, maybe we see some Deshaun Watson, But
what is it you're looking for from the Texans Browns
and if it relates to your market move, great, But
I did want to touch on that game before we
talked about what trades you're making in leagues right now.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
So it is hypothetically, if we do see some starters.

Speaker 1 (43:29):
Anything, is there anything you're hoping to see, like, let's
say you got your wish, if you could make the
Hall of Fame game, do anything, what question would you
want answered from that game?

Speaker 3 (43:38):
I want to see how good the Browns defenses.

Speaker 2 (43:40):
I really want to see how good the Browns defense is.
They have probably the best secondary in the league, and
I think that they've gotten better since last year when
they were really I mean, obviously they got rolled when
they played the Texans in the playoffs, but for majority

(44:03):
of the year they will win in with defense. I
want to see if they if they have what it
takes to take the next step to not only win
that division, which is going to be a tough division.

Speaker 1 (44:14):
Obviously we got that tough is the most difficult division
in football.

Speaker 2 (44:18):
Right but they haven't, but they if their defense is
as good as that as advertised, because a lot of
people are saying that that is probably a top three defense,
maybe San.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
Francisco and somebody else.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
I'm not thinking about Kansas City maybe, and then it's them,
so and if that defense is as good as advertised.
Deshaun Watson has been.

Speaker 3 (44:43):
Looking pretty good in camp. I think he went eighteen or.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Nineteen or something yesterday.

Speaker 1 (44:51):
But no, no, but last year, we talked about the rust,
we talked about the concern he was he wasn't looking
like this. We had Charles Robinson on the show, which
we will have again before the season kicks off, because
he's right now. If you don't, if you're a fan
of the show and you don't follow Charles Robinson on Twitter,
shame on you. How dare you? He is he's posting
some great takeaways from from all of training camp stuff.

(45:13):
We'll be asking you more about that when we have
him on next But yeah, he didn't look this good
last year. That much is very very clear. You're exactly right.
He said he went eighteen out of nineteen at a
during an intense set, you know, best on best session or.

Speaker 2 (45:26):
Something against that against that defense, which is saying a lot,
And I like, you see the defense all the time,
so it allows you a little bit more than advantage
than to somebody who sees it once a week or
I'm sorry that sees it like once a year. But
I'm saying that to say this, The Browns had look
like they could be a dark horse if Nick Chubb

(45:48):
comes back with.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
Some yeah, relatively good health. That dude is like we
we gotta we gotta remember if Nick Chubb comes back healthy,
he is a fantasy running start. Yeah, yeah, running back.

Speaker 1 (46:00):
I have him in our second league in Cartel. Yes,
one of those players. Yeah, him and Jerome Ford to me,
I don't know. We talked about it last week. That's
a free RB one spot go trade for Jerome Ford
and Nick Chubb. It will not cost you a first
and you will get at least middling RB two production

(46:20):
until Nick Chubb comes back, in which case you may
get top five. And so it's so cheap, it's so
worth it. I'm doing it in Best Ball, I'm doing
it in Redraft. I'm certainly doing it in Dynasty. If
I'm gonna win now team the thing, I want clarity
on Thomas out of that game. This is a name.
It's gonna bring up a lot of pain for some people.
Damian pierceman Joe Mixon is in the latter half of

(46:42):
his career. If Damian Pierce has any juice at all
and can kind of redeem the hype, because remember he
had a great rookie season. He did an unbelievable rookie season.
I think he was actually one of the first in
the expansion draft we did in another league. He was
one of the first players taken by your brother or no,
by another guy that but like, Damian Pierce was a
hot name. That's someone who sneakily I think could maybe

(47:05):
he's still very young, you know, the Texans offense projects
to be a very good one. I would love to
see what he can do, because the reality is, I
think we will see him in the Hall of Fame
game like that is the type of player we may
we may get some some shine on from a Hall
of Fame game. We're not going to see Tank Dell.
I don't think we'll see Nico Collins. I don't think
we'll see Steffon Dicks. And I don't think we'll see

(47:26):
Stroud or or DeShawn in that whole time.

Speaker 3 (47:28):
No, I don't think No, I don't think so. I
would love I would love, love, love, love to have
a Damian Pierce comeback. See yeah, because that first season,
man like watching.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
Him run and just run over people like I drafted
him in my fantasy league last year and that was
like the sixth round or something like that, and twelve.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
Yeah exactly what Yeah, Yeah, sixth round in redraft is
not nothing yet.

Speaker 2 (47:53):
He was he that was some hype going in the
last year and it just all evaporated because of the
scheme that they were running. Now, now that he has
had a year in the scheme, if that dude could
figure out how to make it work.

Speaker 3 (48:08):
If he could, if he's if he's.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
Pliable and can figure out how to run in that scheme,
which I believe is like his own blocking scheme, he
can be a Fantasy superstar.

Speaker 1 (48:20):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (48:21):
Because Joe Mixon, I've never been a jill mixing game.

Speaker 3 (48:25):
I've never been a Jill mixing.

Speaker 2 (48:27):
I always thought he was in a great situation, talent
was limited. But now he's injured, you have an opportunity.
If he could come into that Hall of Fame game
and show some stuff. Man, that's another that's another free
guy that sneak.

Speaker 1 (48:45):
Those are the only type of moves, not the only type,
but those are the type of moves. Like it's a
it's a penny stock, it's a dart throw.

Speaker 3 (48:52):
But it.

Speaker 1 (48:54):
Helps. It helps take you from a team that maybe
makes playoffs or as a playoff contender, to like a
juggernaut because now you have that free square. It's worth
taking those shots. If you're in a league where that
can happen. So, Thomas, what's the move you're making right now?
What's a move that you're looking at doing right now?
I kind of alluded to two of them right there,
but I'll have mine after yours.

Speaker 3 (49:20):
I think. So there was a B reporter speaking of
the Texans.

Speaker 2 (49:24):
There's a B reporter that came out and said that
Stefan Diggs looks like the number one receiver. I'm not
saying to go out and spend big money on Stephanas,
but what I'm saying is, if this is a time
where people who are Stefan Dixon has had nothing but
bad pub, nothing but bad pub since the middle of

(49:45):
last year, if he is I'm not saying, if he's
won a h one bet in that offense, then he
could win you a championship this year. Because if people
are so low on him right now, then you could
probably get him for pennies on the dollar. And if
you look at Stephan Von Diggs, like with the exception,

(50:07):
like there was a clear change in philosophy that attributed.
It wasn't just a decline in performance, because everybody wants
to say, oh Stephan.

Speaker 3 (50:16):
Diggs fell off, they changed.

Speaker 2 (50:18):
Offensive coordinators, and that's when his production fell off.

Speaker 3 (50:23):
So it could be what I'm saying is you're talking
about dark throws.

Speaker 2 (50:26):
It could be that Joe Brady was the issue because
Stefan Diggs has I'm not saying he is one, but
he could possibly be a Hall of Fame. So why
not take a shot. Look, you put up the numbers he.

Speaker 3 (50:41):
Got, He's got just as good as numbers.

Speaker 2 (50:43):
Are close to Mike Evans numbers. I'm not saying he
doesn't numbers. Numbers, Go take a second.

Speaker 1 (50:51):
Mike Evans is never not Oh dude, I mean numbers
checks number. I'll check his numbers. But I already know
off the top of my head. Mike Evans has had
almost ten seasons in the NFL. Now he's coming on
season number ten. It took Stefon Diggs and he came
into the season later. He had some incredible seasons with

(51:11):
the Bills. Incredible seasons with the Bills, don't get me wrong.
And he had good things with the Vikings, but it
took him two to three years to break out with
the Vikings.

Speaker 3 (51:20):
I don't he's almost let.

Speaker 2 (51:21):
Me just say this, he's almost at ten thousand receiv rs. Yes,
it took him a little longer to have a thousand.

Speaker 1 (51:26):
Yeah, totally, I get it.

Speaker 3 (51:28):
His first season, his first season, he had like eight hundred,
which is great for a rookie.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
His second season, I think he had like nine. So
I'm just saying it took him a while. But he
came in hot. So he was not a rookie that was.

Speaker 3 (51:41):
Just sitting on the pine. He played.

Speaker 2 (51:44):
But my point is like, even if he's not, forget
the Hall of Famous stuff, he has been a number
one receiver.

Speaker 3 (51:50):
Can we agree that.

Speaker 1 (51:52):
Oh no, he's one of the one of the top
five in the NFL for the last twenty to five years.

Speaker 2 (51:58):
So why not take up So if body is like
desperate to get rid of him in our league, in
our sixteen team league, I got a free Stephan Dicks,
Kenneth Walker.

Speaker 3 (52:09):
I got approached for Kenneth Walker, and he.

Speaker 2 (52:12):
Asked me about Stephan Diggs, but I was like, I'm.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
Not giving you Kenneth Walker for Stephan Diggs.

Speaker 2 (52:17):
I got a first. He threw in Stephan Diggs. That's
how people want to get rid of Stephan. So I
got a first and Stephan Diggs to Kenneth Walker in
the sixteen league. I'm just saying, Doddy, if his appeal
is that low, right, now jump on it and get
him because he might be good for another three years.

Speaker 1 (52:36):
That was was That was that trade made on Father's Day.
It was I was on the golf course with Brooks.
This shout out Brooks again, this was Brooks, Brooks. We
gotta have Brooks on the show at this point, A
great guy, great guy. And he was like, are you
in on Digs? I'm like, bro I'm getting rid of him.

(52:56):
Like I was, like, I was hyping him up to
make that deal because because I even if you have
six or seven games of it in Dynasty, I just
I hate catching the hot potato. You have to be
so clear in a way, the best team loading up
for a win, now push to trade for a Stefon

(53:16):
Diggs in my opinion, and I get where you feel
you that, but like for him to get what did
he get? He got Kenneth Walker and Stefonde. Yeah, just
he just got Kenneth Walker.

Speaker 3 (53:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (53:27):
And and keep in mind he's the Nico Collins owner
as well. So for him it was like, uh, I've
got to kind of pick one of it. It's not
a stack he wanted to keep, so that was protect
to look.

Speaker 3 (53:36):
I understand the right of Now.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
What I'm saying is if people on a receiver that
can be a number one receiver on it, like make
that deal, try to get try to get him for
a second or you know, uh, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (53:52):
I don't know what third, multiple thirds in the future.

Speaker 1 (53:55):
Yeah, he's falling deal, he's he's he's falling off mass
simply on keep trade cutting elsewhere, and he's gonna continue
to fall off, and then he'll stabilize as the season
gets here, and he'll I think he'll certainly outproduce his
his KTC rank as we go here. Just another running
back to bring up. I don't know if I brought
him up last week or not. It feels forever ago.
A lot of life in between now and then. And

(54:15):
I've been watching a lot of the Olympics. Uh, despite
a very interesting we'll just call it an interesting opening act.
I'm a huge Olympics fan, so I've just been all
over the place. By the way women's rugby, I want
I want Derrick Henry to marry this this chick from
American women's rugby and breed the perfect running back she

(54:35):
has a stiff arm like Derrick Henry. It's unbelievable you're
talking about Yes, dude, she's a monster. And I like,
I'm just such an like, I'm so patriotic when it
comes to the Olympics, and I'm just like chanting the
USA in my living room watching women's seven on seven rugby,
acting like that's how much I miss NFL. But seriously, uh,

(54:58):
moving on running backs. Sticking with the running backs, Dylan
Labbe of the Raiders, this is last year's ty Chandler, right.
Everyone thought Alexander Madison was going to take over and
step up he'd been a backup for years and be
the guy. And turns out he sucked on the Vikings.

(55:18):
Whatever there had to there always had to be a
second back there anyway, ty Chandler showed out in the
few games he was given the opportunity. I think the
Raiders are gonna be an amazing defense and want to
win on the run. They're gonna they're gonna, you know,
buckle down and win these these close games with defense
and clock management. I don't think Zamir White, even if
he is a good back, can handle the entire workload.
And Dylan Labba had an incredible college career. He is

(55:41):
a great free dart throw and he's establishing himself in camp.
They've only spoken glowingly about him running backs. You know,
take it all with a grain of salt. But the
price is so cheap. It's a dart throw that can hit.
It's potentially a free RB two. Go trade for Dylan
Labba if you can. Both he and Javon Baker were
traded to your brother for two because I'm the bank baby,

(56:04):
and at the end of the day, right now, the
only thing I care about is money, and and the
money is and picks are that. So that's what I've
been talking about exactly exactly right hey, that those those
picks cannot get injured. Thomas. It's great to have you back.
Hopefully we're at full strength with our team next week.
We have football this Thursday. Excited to watch it, even

(56:25):
though it's gonna be bad, but we'll be back with
with with more Dynasty news and we're excited to enter
into the season and just get one step closer to
actual NFL football being played with all of you. So
thank you again for tuning in to see you next week.
