Speaker 1 (00:00):
I mustee the.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Oh yeah, if you live anywhere close to a forest,
certainly if you're listening to the show, and you reside
in California, parts of northern Arizona, even.
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Texas where specifically East Texas, you have seen Smokey the
Bear tell you only you can prevent forest fires. I've
always found that statement to be false. I feel like
it's really nonsensical. I get what Smokey's trying to do.
He's saying, hey, be responsible with what you can control.
The issue I have is Smokey, what if lightning strikes
(00:42):
and catches fire. I can't control that, Smoky. I can't
prevent lightning. I'm not God. Okay, what if a volcano
erupts like it didn't mount it? I can't prevent that, Smoky.
That's not something I can do. That's the volcano. And
I say that to say, we talk all the time
about good management, right only you you know you're gonna
go win a championship in fantasy football? After another week
(01:06):
of an injury apocalypse, I'm here to tell you, fantasy owners,
it is not only you who can prevent forest fires.
It's not on you. It's not your fault. There are
there are natural disasters out there that take from all
of us, and maybe not equally. I've had a really
lucky season. I don't own Brandon, Ike, Deebo, Samuel. I
(01:26):
just go down the list of for you know, Christian McCaffrey,
all these people. It's like, basically, if you drafted a
bad fantasy team but they stayed healthy, you're in the playoffs. Congratulations,
Thomas is joining me. Is an incredible Week seven. A
lot of storylines to get to, but the one that
sticks out right away is, hey, this was another forest
fire of injuries. We lost Mike Evans for a couple
of weeks, DK Metcalff for a couple of weeks. I'm
(01:49):
trying to think of other minor names that went Chris.
I was going to the minor names we lost guys
for the season in Brandon, I Youuk and Chris Godwin.
And by the way, Godwin's having a career year. So
you're like, sweet, I'm making a push. I've traded capital
and if you're playing Dynasty, tell me if you're the
Chris Godwin owner, Thomas, don't you own Godwins in some places?
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Do in exchange? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Tell me you didn't make other trades to make your
team more win now and give up future capital because
Chris Godwins having a career year.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
I was set. I was set. I was like, okay,
I like my roster. I'm good at receiver. Then forty
three seconds left and you just see him on the
ground and I just had a feeling. I've made it
probably about three or four trades since then to try
to recover because he was the number one player in
PPR in fantasy football.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Yeah, don't play pr wid receiver. Sorry, that's why receipect. Well, listen,
the reality is though, keeping with this forest fire analogy,
from the ashes of disaster come the roses of success.
They tell you after a great forest fire, the ground
is really really fertile. And we here at the Dynasty Exchange.
We are going to have advice on the second half
(02:57):
of the show on how to rebuild, maybe how to
make me to become competitive again. But we got to
go through this news bit by bit. We got to
just take an accounting of all the all the oaks,
all the trees we lost in this forest of fantasy players.
You already brought up Chris Godwin. Well, you're already chatting
about him. How do you view him now in dynasty?
He's what twenty nine years old, almost thirty years old
(03:18):
already and going into a free agent year. What would
it take to get him off your roster right now?
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Thomas?
Speaker 3 (03:25):
If you just wanted to recoup capital in that league, I.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Would probably say I would hope that I can get
a future second for him, But I'm not sure if
that's gonna If that's possible, I think holding him is
probably the best scenario. I you know, he's in a
contract year. He's probably gonna be somewhere else next year.
If I'm if, yeah, he's probably gonna be somewhere else
(03:52):
next year. Now, he may get resigned by Tampa Bay
because I heard he's a great locker room guy. He's
by all accounts, everybody seems to love him. You know,
Big Mayfield was distraught when he got when God, when
I got, the whole team seemed like they were just
reeling from that. So I don't know if he'll be
in Tampa Bay next year, But he is in a
(04:13):
contract season. Somebody's got to sign him. I do think
he'll play again, but we just have to see he's
It took him a while to come back from the
a c L and he it took him maybe was
it two years to regain the promise he had when
he was the wide receiver to yea, we will we were.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
Forget that first first ever startup draft I ever did.
I drafted him over Tyreek Hill and they tours a
CL that year. Yeah, because as he's younger, he's gonna
last longer, be more productive. Freaking sometimes you overvalue youth.
But you're right, you know, this is obviously is an
a CL terrace, an ankle dislocation. It looks kind of
like a little bit like Dak's gruesome injury years ago.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
Yeah, it does. I was thinking that too.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
And listen, he's a wide receiver. He plays with his feet,
and he's not in football years. He's not a young man,
and so it's one of those kind of neblost situations.
I think you're absolutely right. You're just you just hold him,
you throw them on your ir and you hope he
gets new life by landing somewhere else. We got other
injuries to talk about, but I'll just pick up on
that train. In terms of landing somewhere else, someone I
(05:16):
thought was dead for fantasy specifically, dynasty. DeAndre Hopkins, dude.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
Speak of an old man.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
No, I know right, this is this is that weird
scenario that someone in a trade when you're trying to
trade for like de hop on the chief because you
need weekly start like you never know, he could get
traded and you're like, yeah, bro, freaking kick rocks, Like
enough with this, like narrative Street, It's all gonna work
out for you. He's still worth a high second or
a first, well maybe worth a high second, certainly not
(05:46):
at first. Still goes to the best offense he's ever
been a part of. I know all the jokes about
Patrick Mahomes more touchdowns, interceptions, whatever. The Chiefs are undefeated
and they need wide receivers. Rashi Rice was eating juju,
Smith Schuster was eating and then he gets injured. It's
another injury. It is wheels up for d hop What
are your expectations, Thomas, Where do you think he finishes
(06:10):
week to week?
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Man, I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go against the I
don't know what the grain is, to be honest with you,
I don't know what the temperature in the room is.
If people you think.
Speaker 3 (06:20):
It's all over, there are people who think he's now
a top twelve. There are people who think this is
just a wide receiver three, it's just a bolster. So
there's no wrong answers here.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
I'm gonna think. I'm gonna say I think he's gonna
be a high end wide receiver too, maybe not starting
this week. He may need it a week, but I
don't even know if he needs that. I mean the
way Juju came in, and I understand he's familiar with
the offense, but we've seen receivers. Look at a Mari Cooper.
He had eleven snaps and he still produced high quality
fantasy numbers with a great quarterback. DeAndre Hopkins is a
(06:52):
great receiver, a great receiver. He was one of the
top receivers in fantasy. Now he's thirty two, he's lost
a step. But it just seems like when people go
to Kansas City, age ain't nothing but a number. They
just they show up.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Do they show what? Well? Yeah, I mean Kareem Hunt
is doing as well, which we we haven't do. Have
we talked about Kareem Hunt at all?
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Barely?
Speaker 3 (07:13):
Dude, I intentionally one of my rivals. He's my redraft
number one rival has been for years. A friend of mine.
He picked him up. He's like, don't sleep on my
Kareem Hunt. Take it's gonna it's gonna work out. He
picked him up. This was weeks and weeks ago. I said,
I am fast asleep on this one, and so I haven't.
I don't think I've brought him up on the show
simply because I want to give him no satisfaction. I
just beat him handily this last week, so I'm willing
(07:33):
to bring it up now. Kareem Hunt is a must start. Like,
do you remember the Jeric McKinnon years, because that's what
I was gonna bring up for d hop older player,
you know, never worked out for Fantasy. You know, Jerck
McKinnon was a darling when he went to San Francisco,
was supposed to work. He goes to the Chiefs, is
there at the back of the roster for years and
then in like he's like thirty years old. He twenty
(07:54):
nine years old. Catch his nine touchdowns since the RB
one over the last eight weeks of the season. Is
a league winner. Kareem Hunt is doing that. I think
d hop in this offense can be a league winner.
That being said, my expectations for de Hop in particular,
I still think I think he's a back end wide
receiver too. I think he's a middle to a back
end wide receiver two. And here's why I think he
(08:15):
isn't at this particular time in his life. He doesn't
have the juice for yards after the catch. De Hop
has always been an incredible route runner and just unbelievable hands,
But in his older age, he's not like creating a
ton of yards after the catch, and even Juju's by
no means fast, but he's still a big slot that
(08:36):
will get you yards after the catch. And the way
they were using him was kind of that Rashi Rice role,
which Rashi Rice was unbelievable after the catch. I think
d Hop's going to be really solid, great over the
middle of the field, the first down getter. I just don't.
I don't know if they I just don't know that
there's much upside. There's a touchdown upside, but I don't.
(08:56):
I don't think he's catch. I don't think he's going
for one hundred and fifty yards. I don't think he
has the juice left in the legs. I really don't.
I think it's like a six for sixty five. I
think it's an eight for eighty five in a touchdown
kind of thing, if that makes.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Sense, which is great.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
That's that is no, that's it's super value. Like he
was irrelevant. He's worth a second if you're going to
go if you are needing wide receiver help. Let's say
you're the Rashi Rice owner and you have a huge
gaping hole at your wide receiver two or even your
wide receiver one. Go spend a second and go try
to make playoffs. It is the type of player in
the type of situation that could not only in the
range of outcomes. By the way sol wideceever rue like
(09:29):
I could be totally wrong about his legs. He could
not be trying in Tennessee. Why would it's football purgatory borderline.
Speaker 1 (09:36):
Hell yeah, that quarterback play of the last two years
has just been I mean, I mean, even the greatest
wide receiver would have trouble with Will Levis throwing ridiculous
amount off target passes to you. You know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Something I so respect about you is your willingness to
change your opinion when you do. Will Levis was a
my guy for you coming in this season.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
Yeah, I will.
Speaker 3 (09:58):
Tell I will say caveat wall for fantasy production. Positively,
he has been horrid for must watch TV. Will Levis,
I can't take my eyes off.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
He's entertaining as hell.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
He is.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
He is the epitome of impetuous, and you just don't
know where he's what he's going to do.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
He is a cartoon character. You were if you were
to draw up a foolish football player and animate it,
it would just be Will Levison in real life. It's hilarious.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
And and you know what's Dylan picked Calvin Ridley, who
hasn't who's been getting targets like crazy and can't catch
a pass. It's like, it's Tennessee.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Is Tennessee? I told you well, I said that GM
has way too much power. It's like I forget his
I even forget his name. But basically he he basically
has power over plate like like every personnel. Like, yeah,
I forget, I should come with a more intelligent, like
(11:05):
succinct thing. But I remember in my notes prepping for
the season with offenses, like as much as we liked
the higher for the Titans at head coach, offensive minded guy,
what was the guy? Do you even remember the guy's
name right now?
Speaker 1 (11:20):
Cool the coach.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Yeah, Callahan, Callahan. I was thinking Callahan the whole time,
and I couldn't even come forward that season. But the
GM has control over Callahan, all of his assistants. He
has control over like everything. And I was like, that
doesn't sound like a good situation, Like he's not. I
don't think it's a good situation. So anyway, it's not
working on in Tennessee. Enough about them going to a place.
(11:43):
It's not working out, certainly, not because of coaching, but
because of injuries. Like no one's business. The forty nine
ers are doing their best impression of everyone's fantasy team
this year because they can't keep anyone on the field.
It's comical, like it's it's so it's not comical. It's
like I want to laugh about it. It's comical, like
this is this, this is absurd. Deebo Samuel has pneumonia.
(12:05):
We don't know if he's playing this next week. Brandon
Ayuk is out for the season. He held out all season.
Good for him, he got his money. Bad news for
the Niners. They're on the back end of that deal.
Ayuk is out. Kittle is now banged up. We don't
know when McCaffrey is coming back. Are you excited are
you optimistic Thomas about the debut of Ricky Piersoll and
increased opportunity for like a Jowan Jennings or are you
(12:28):
just in general like, hey, this is not for forty
nine ers that we knew last year and we should
avoid it all costs.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
I don't want to avoid them at all costs. But
also on top of that, you mentioned a lot of
those injuries, but Jordan Mason is banged up.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
I forgot about that.
Speaker 1 (12:45):
Yeah, Jawan Jennings might play, but they were like, he
was like, I hope we'll get Jawan Jennings back, and
and Ricky Piersaw. Oh, I think he got shot a
couple of weeks ago.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
So a street cred, let's be honest. Yeah, he healed
like an a movie. I've always felt the movies, you
know how they get shot on the shoulder. You're in
you're in Hollywood, you're in showbuz you get this. I've
always felt like, I'm like, hey, I feel like that's
a lot more serious than just walk it off. Get
shot in the chest.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
It was standing he was standing up like weeks later.
Speaker 3 (13:16):
I yeah, I believe I believe just off, Yeah, just
to die. Don't be soft, you know.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Right, No, He's like man, I like, I'm nervous about Piersoll.
He didn't have a lot of reps in the off
season during training.
Speaker 3 (13:38):
Can Yeah, none of the preseason games.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Yeah yeah, he was herd preseason and they get reps.
I'm nervous about him. I think Jenny's is gonna be
if Jennings plays, Jenny's gonna be like so at least
while de Bo is gone, and even when de Bo
comes back, I don't think Debo will take so many
targets away from him because he is a quality of receiver. Yeah,
and I think we both we both talked. We talked
about that recently. Even in the Super Bowl. He should
(14:01):
he would have been an MVP had they won, And
it was like, you know, it was just like the
perfect storm of crap that hit San Francisco. And again
Kyle Shanahan would not tell us that Debo was sick
and tried to let this man play with pneumonia, which
drives me crazy. But if I'm if I'm holding any
San Francisco forty nine ers, I'm not worried. So I'm
(14:25):
not worried in the long term, in the immediate future. Yes,
this next week, I'm worried. There's a bye after that,
so there's a chance that they can get healthy. Yeah, yeah,
this week. I don't know if I want to play
a forty nine er that's not Jordan Mason, maybe because
I didn't know that.
Speaker 3 (14:46):
I would take a flyer on pearsall depending on how.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Deep you would this week, or would you pick him up?
Speaker 3 (14:53):
I mean, well, in Dynasty, he's already he's already rostered.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Right, Oh yeah, well would you would you play him?
Did you put him in yours?
Speaker 3 (15:01):
I put him in my roster over like a Khalil Shakir.
I put him in my roster over. If Tank Bigsby's
in a timeshare, I would take the shot on like
And by the way, this is caveat if Jennings is out.
If Jennings is in, I'm not you know, I'm going
Jennings and no one else. To be honest with you,
we know what Jennings did when he was the only
(15:21):
game in town.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Oh no, trust me, I'm all in on Jennings. Yeah,
but I think I'm so worried about the fact I
don't think Pearsall is a bad play. Even though I'm
not the biggest fan of him coming in, I don't
think he was worth the first round pick, but I
do believe that the lack of reps and I don't
know if you heard the podcast, Tom Brady was like, really,
you know, like you say succinct about.
Speaker 3 (15:46):
On the broadcast being succinct is a rare occurrence.
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Yeah, but he was when he broke down Ricky Piersall,
he was like, yeah, he looks he's not separating. It
does like some of these routes are off, like they
like the communication is off. I just worry about that
him not having enough reps to be to get quality
statistics next week. But I mean he is a dart throw.
(16:11):
I mean he.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
Start is a must start if he's if he's out there,
I would be willing to take the dart thrown heier
so partially because it's also like the narrative street of it,
like suits arrived, a gunshot, he's had, he's had a
week to like, if it's his chance to step up
and be a target hog, I'm down to ride, you know,
take that chance on Sunday night football because Dallas sucks.
I'm a Cowboy fan. We suck, So I.
Speaker 1 (16:35):
Would take a chance on Jacob Cowing too, man, I
would take a fly.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
Yeah, a lot of people are really high on him.
He's a name to pay attention to. But before we
move off of all this crazy news, I mean Mike
Evans owners DK Metcalf. I think I mentioned like it's
it was a rough week which really quickly on the
DK Metcalf JSN could be time could be time to
see what Jasn can do with targets all to himself.
I'm excited to see that as an owner in some
(16:58):
places of him. Last bit of news I want to
get to. There are rumors this is recording Wednesday night.
This should come out Thursday, so Thursday of football Sam
Donald versus Matt Stafford. There are rumors and this is
the most dynasty like, fantasy like thing I've ever heard,
that Donald could be traded to the Rams and the
(17:21):
Rams could trade away Stafford to Minnesota in this you know,
basically after this game, especially if Minnesota wins. Because Sam
Donald's been so impressive, it's like he's deserving of a
Baker prove it deal, of a Gino prove it deal.
You know what I mean like a three year, one
hundred million dollars, one hundred and ten million dollars kind
of starting gig. The Rams would would be what two
(17:43):
and five?
Speaker 1 (17:44):
I think.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
If they lose and so playoffs are probably and very injured.
You know, they're still winning on Cup to get back.
He's going to probably make his debut Thursday, but Puka
is still not back. So it's like, okay, do we
rebuild with a younger QB on a prove it deal
and give him time and reps and then give away
a win now QB that could mentor McCarthy who they're
going to be pot committed in. Kevin O'Connell worked with
(18:07):
Stafford before when the Rams won the Super Bowl One.
That's the most like fantasy football thing ever. Like if
I'm like, if I'm a playoff contender, like I do
this all the time, I'd be like, hey, I need
the win now piece. You know, the rookies are out
playing and we'll get into that and keep trade what like,
what's the championship worth you willing to trade some of
maybe these overvalued early on young achievers for veteran upside
(18:34):
so to speak. Because Stafford and the upside if he
were to go to the Vikings, how good could they be?
But one, Thomas, if it does happen, like like, what
are your thoughts on that in general? Like could you
even see this happening? Umber one? And if it does happen,
what you would you say with the fantasy implications specifically
for Cooper Cup and Pooka if Donald is there rest
the season.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
For Pooka and Cooper Cup. I think, first of all,
let me let me let me start by saying I
don't like it. And we talked a little bit about
this off camera. I uh, I think that we sometimes
conflate real life and fantasy. And when we have people
(19:19):
who have been working together for a period of time,
months and months and months, developing chemistry, developing secondhand, you know,
understanding each other where somebody's gonna be. You saw Aaron
Rodgers get Devanta Adams after I don't know how many years,
and they looked like they didn't have the same chemistry
(19:39):
that they had before. Now that it could have been
a lot of different factors, but it did, but it
didn't happen overnight. And when you five and one like
they are. I don't believe Sam Donald has played so
badly where you need to make a change, like this
team has a defense that can win a championship. You
got you got the best receiver in football. Everybody looks
like they're playing really, really well. Yet he lost to Detroit.
(20:01):
But Detroit is really good and will be there probably
in the NFC Championship with them, or probably somewhere close,
if not so whole. My point is, I don't it
makes sense because you have the incumbent of JJ McCarthy
and Matthew Stafford is in his last couple of years,
and you have Sam Darnell going to a place where
(20:24):
he can sign a long term deal and be the
next quarterback for them for the next three or four
years whatever. I don't think that it helps anybody as
far as fantasy goes, especially right off the bat. I
don't think Matthew Stafford comes in and he just lights
the world on fire when he's been playing with other
people for so long and knowing where they're gonna be
(20:46):
and what they're doing. Yes, it's the same, it's pretty
much the same system, but it is totally different locker room.
It's a different environment. It's a different person you're throwing to.
I think if this trade does happen, the major uh,
I would say the major beneficiary of it will be
Matthew Stafford. But I think Cooper Cup and Pooka Nakoua
(21:10):
will take a dramatic hit because.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Yeah, the rapport, that's such a rapport based.
Speaker 1 (21:16):
And Sam Donald is not a gun slinger. Matthew Stafford
is a gun slinger and he locks in on those
guys all the time. I don't think Sam Donald is
that guy. Even though he throws to Justin Jefferson a lot.
There are a lot of people getting getting fed in
the Vikings offense. I don't like the system in general,
but I mean, you know, it's fine. It's fine if
(21:39):
it If it does happen, I don't think anybody's fantasy
stock goes through the roof, but I do think everybody
takes a little hit.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
For the for the immediate weeks. I would agree with you,
and I love the reason you brought up, which is
why I think it won't happen. It's a fun story
because of someone who plays fantasy football. It's like I
would do that, and I think there's there you know,
but these are human beings that, like you said, the
law locker room. What's the practical nature of like, oh, hey,
uproot your family in the middle of the season, go
to Minnesota. Do you even want to do that because
(22:08):
you were you know, when you left the Lions. You
didn't go in division to play, you know what I mean? Like, like,
there's so many other psychological factors. That's just the Stafford
side of it, never mind the Darnold so you know,
and all the guys supporting it. So I think it's
a great point. We're going to take a quick break
when we come back. Keep Trade what looking at some
trade calculator positive deals that might be a little outlandish,
(22:29):
just talking about some player values while you make moves
to decide ultimately. I mean, this is the middle of
the season. We've had a ton of trades happening in
both of our leagues. This is the time where your
roster is deciding what direction am I ultimately going in
because I have half a season of data and I'm
either headed to the top or I'm headed for the bottom.
So we've got the moves you need to make. Right
after this, welcome back into the show. Keep Trade what. Listen,
(22:53):
everybody and their mother who plays fantasy knows the keep
one trade one cut one or more specific, they know
the website keep Trade Cut. It's become kind of the
rolodex of all Dynasty players. We talk about it on
the show NonStop. If this is the first time. It
is a crowd sourced website that basically every time you
go on it, you help them identify data points about
(23:16):
what is what is a player worth? In Dynasty. It
is most often used in trade negotiations and be like,
look it's it's an even trade, or look how much
you're benefiting. But sometimes these values can get a little
out of whack because the masses, the unwashed masses, which
includes us, we're idiots. We overhype things to a level
(23:37):
that's unacceptable, and so we wanted to take some time
to go through a couple trades and a couple of
players where it's not a one for one deal because
I don't know, Thomas, what is the last one for
one deal you did in a Dynasty trade? Like I
really can't remember the last one for one deal I've
done in a Dynasty trade. Ever, it's usually with picks
or three, you know, two for one, three for two,
(23:57):
Like there's always multiple assets involved in a trade.
Speaker 1 (24:00):
Yeah, I can't think of a one for one that
I've done. I'm pretty sure I've done him, but not recently,
that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
But even even the ones, the most the most one
for ones I've done is actually draft picks like I
will give you the one Ozho six for you know,
Am and Rock like something along those lines. It's usually
like a specific so very very strange. But we want
to embrace some of that absurdism. And so I want
to talk about keep trade what as in, what the
(24:30):
heck can you get for this player? I'm very high
on this player. Player. I want to bring up his
Milik Neighbors. Milik Neighbors off to an incredible start in
his NFL career, looks. The part is that you know,
has the mentality, was kind of a star in the
in the preseason and then showed up and showed out
right away. Just had his worst game for for forty
(24:52):
one when he was healthy, but has had some multiple,
you know, double digit fantasy point weeks. Is it is
a wide receiver one right now, right we would agree
with that on keep trade cut Thomas. He is currently
valued as the wide receiver two in super flex leagues.
That has him at worth ninety two hundred. If he
turns super flex off, he's at ninety nine hundred. So
(25:18):
just unbelievable value. Right, really good player, But do you
think that's a little too high or do you think
he's worthy of that perspective.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
All And you know, I love my Lsu Brotherrin, but
I do not think that any rookie who's had six
games in his career, he didn't even play all six
is worth nine nine hundred on keep trade, cut or
the second spot. I mean, it is a Jamar Chase
(25:50):
out there who is not old. He is twenty four
to twenty five years old, like exactly, he's there. He
should not beg and he's got a better quarterback. There
no reason for this. So we're gonna we're.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
Gonna be on the same side of this argument. I
think here's what you can currently trade. Let's say you
want it, you had Molie Neighbors, but you wanted to
be a little bit more win. Now you you stoked.
You hit it with a rookie. Okay, it's awesome. Did
you know Molik Neighbors or Mike Evans who's currently injured
and almonros Saint Brown, Because that is going to turn
(26:23):
blue in a super flex league that isn't even trade.
Which side are you taking?
Speaker 1 (26:28):
There?
Speaker 3 (26:28):
Alm and Ra and Mike Evans are Elik neighbors.
Speaker 1 (26:32):
I'm on raw Mike Evans.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
Yeah, that seems like a no brainer, right, What if.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
I now and later? Yeah? This is yeah, it's that's crazy.
That's crazy that I'm on rock again. Another player who
I would put above my elite neighbors right now. And
as much as I love Malik, I'm on ros should
be above him as well. This is crazy.
Speaker 3 (26:54):
No, I don't think it makes any sense. I want
you to be a little more creative. So Mike Evans,
let's go T Higgins and let's do Jonathan Brooks.
Speaker 1 (27:09):
Mike Evans, T Higgins, Jonathan Brooks from a leak?
Speaker 3 (27:12):
Would you do that? Actually, Jonathan Brooks doesn't make sense.
Let me do like a nause or something. Let me
let me add a, let me add a win now
running back.
Speaker 1 (27:27):
I don't think so. I don't think I would do
that one. Sure, yeah, I don't think I would.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
What if I added Daniel Jones into that, that's a
blockbuster super flex Listen, you're treating Elik neighbors for Mike Evans,
T Higgins, Nausee, and Daniel Jones. Yes, that's something worth doing.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
It looks no, look to each his own, because that
is if you're a win now team, that's gonna help
you win now. Molite Neighbors is not scoring all of
the point total of those four players come by, so
they could all obviously help you and help you with
depth if you do have a lot of people who
are starting over them. But I don't think I would
(28:09):
make that deal based on a couple of things. Mike
Evans just got hurt again hamstring, He's getting older. He
may help you win toward the end of this season,
but next year, we don't know what the situation is
going to be like for him. Because we were just
talking about DeAndre DeAndre Hopkins and like Chris Gowen getting older,
(28:31):
you are taking on a you know, a player up
in age.
Speaker 3 (28:34):
T Higgins.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
We don't know where he's gonna go next year because
he won't be with the Babs playing lights out right now,
which and that's a.
Speaker 3 (28:41):
Good point to bring up, Like I think T Higgins
is a trade for candidate.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
Oh yeah, yeah, right, now get it if you can,
if you can't, because well.
Speaker 3 (28:50):
This is why I'm bringing up, like, are we really
surprised next year if T Higgins outscores in the league? Neighbors,
if T Higgins lands on the right spot. Now, obviously
Buffalo maybe is less attractive because I already went there.
But like Biggans goes to a crazy good situation, you know, if.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
He goes to the Raiders. But if he goes to
you know, that's that's in.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
The realm of outcome. But if he goes to the Raiders,
he's a target hog. We saw Davante be very relevant
there as the target hog on a terrible offense last year, right,
so I don't think the Raiders can get any worse
on offense knock on wood.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
So may.
Speaker 3 (29:21):
I mean he might end up to be honest, you know,
that's a whole We didn't even talk about Sean Waantson
inury well, he who shall not be named, I guess
to some extent, no one wants to talk about that
for super Flex, but.
Speaker 1 (29:32):
Yeah, if you want to talk about that, we can. Man,
he's no, it's I think it's I think it's I
think we've done with him though, I think we're all
done with him, just in general.
Speaker 3 (29:42):
Desire. Yeah, like I I really have no desire to.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
He hasn't done anything ever except sign of contract. Like
it's been too long.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Yeah, you know a lot of people like the personal
issues that led to him getting out of Houston. I
don't want to speak to those one either way, I
don't know. I don't want to comment whatsoever. All I'm
saying is this guy has been in the news NonStop
for three years and never produced an ounce of quality
football that was even remotely watchable. Yea, and he made
and he's the highest paid guaranteed quarterback of all time,
(30:10):
whether or not at like any of the allegations, all
the stuff. I don't. It's hard to root for you
when you're so well paid and you perform so poorly.
And some Browns players were coming out and like he's
given everything. No he's not. He hasn't given the city shit.
I'm sorry, pardon my French pistons. The entitlement of that
pissed me off so much. Okay, No, this is so
(30:32):
old school, like you know, like grumbly old football head.
But it's like it sucks that you're injured. They booed
you because you played horribly. It is a meritocracy. I
am sorry. Like people paid their hard earned money to
come watch you play, you are well compensated. You don't
have to work another day in your life. And that's
if you never played another time. If he gave away
(30:54):
all the money that he was going to make from
the football he's going to now miss with his career
being over, he would be infinitely set for life compared
to ninety nine point nine percent of the population. Then
you add all the rumors on top of it. Not
an easy gotta root for. And so I'm not saying
I'm not wishing him ill or anything like that. I'm
simply saying any I have no sympathy yet, I'm well,
(31:17):
Saddy got injured. I never want to see get injured.
I simply saying that. The whole sentiment of like they
shouldn't aboot him, And I'm like, bro, you're literally looking
at the guy who bankrupted.
Speaker 4 (31:26):
Your franchise in terms of cap space, like, yes, two
things can be true, like you might you could whatever
off the field situation, We're not going to We don't
even have to talk about that because how.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
You know I'm there though you know I'm saying there,
I'm not saying I'm not saying that it's not and
I'm not saying that it's not a it's not an
awful thing, but I don't I don't even have to
get into that to say Deshaun Watson was trash and
the only reason that he would kept that starting job
is because they had so much money tied up to him.
It was any other quarterback with any other contract, he
(32:02):
would have been done long time ago.
Speaker 3 (32:03):
Completely completely agreat. I mean props to his props to
his agent for the negotiating contract where he could still
start anyway. I digress. We're doing keep trade what No, no, no,
I'm sorry. I'm the one that brought it up. But
I want to move to another player, another rookie. That's
that's This is the issue of keep trade cut. This
is why trade calculators. By the way, you shouldn't rely
on them to build your team. You should use them
(32:24):
as a weapon against other people. You have to have
personal conviction about players that is deeper than one game
sample size.
Speaker 1 (32:31):
Dude.
Speaker 3 (32:31):
It's a very There are very few players that you
should say I've seen one game, I've seen enough. I
know what this player is for the future. Because it's
not prescriptive no, we got En Daniels.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
Check out check out film. Y'all, check out check out
the film. Before you pick up a player, go look
at the film and make sure that I test matches
what you want.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Don't even don't even do that, not even just the
eye test. Look at the box score. I want to
bring up a cautionary tale. I want to talk about
Jaden Daniel in keep trade what because he's currently the
quarterback three. Guess who was the quarterback three five minutes ago?
Speaker 1 (33:07):
C J. Stroud.
Speaker 3 (33:08):
Okay, c J Stroud, by the way, unbelievable real life quarterback.
Unbelievable real life quarterback. And he's still the quarterback for
but c J. Stroud has done jack squat for Fantasy
this year.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
C J.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
Stroud is an amazing real life NFL QB. All the intangels,
How is he going to score Fantasy points with Jade
and Daniels. I will make the argument he is a
mobile QB and so that we've seen the upside games
like this could be a long term prescriptive thing. I
get it. Jade and Daniels is already the quarterback three.
He's valued almost as highly as as the top two
(33:40):
right now on keep trade cut. Would you rather have
Jaden Daniels or Dak Prescott. Actually, let's see, I feel
like that's too easy. Yeah, this is insane. There's no
way that this can be real and superflex. Keep trade
cut is stupid, dude. Keep trade cut is you can
(34:01):
get the Dak Prescott ceedee lambstack, which I guarantee someone
has for Jade and Daniels straight up.
Speaker 4 (34:06):
Jade and Daniels after eight weeks dog with with with
the value investment and all that.
Speaker 1 (34:13):
Oh my god, that's crazy.
Speaker 3 (34:16):
Someone would say that's a fair trade. That's insane.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
I would do that nine times. I would do it
ten times out of ten. There's no way. There's no way.
I love being Daniel with all my heart, but he's not.
That's that's that's the number. That's the number number one
receiver last year and Dak Prescott was.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
Both Scott who both got contracted snsions.
Speaker 1 (34:37):
Yeah, what was he the quarterback at the end of
the year, like the second or third or something like that.
He was.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
I think, you know, he finished really high. I think
he was the top three guy.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Yeah, man, this is like that's.
Speaker 3 (34:48):
Touchdowns, you know.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
Yeah, you can't about you you got to come up
with formulate your own conclusions about these players, because that
is ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
Now, what if hear me out. Hear me out also
Blue far more peaceable, Dak Prescott, AJ Brown, and my
guy George Pickens, those three players for jayde and Daniels
straight up.
Speaker 1 (35:10):
Oh my god, Really.
Speaker 3 (35:12):
Dude, like AJ Brown, Dak Prescott, that's an auto except
for me.
Speaker 1 (35:15):
I take that yet. I don't even need picking. That's
cherry on top.
Speaker 3 (35:19):
We talk a lot about value, and this once again,
if this is your first time listening, and we have
a couple of few listeners. The reason this is outlandish
is because value is the constant debate in Dynasty. There's
certainly a world where it's like, how do you quantify
and qualify a player that's gonna play ten years versus
player that's gonna play three? Because is the league even
going to be around in three years? Versus if I
(35:41):
get ten years of Jerry Rice, if I if you've
had Mike Evans in Dynasty and you've trusted the process
the entire time, which I've by the way, I've I've
told people to sell Mike Evans three years ago. Yeah,
he's getting old. Here's a physical guy like just keeps dominating.
It's hard to know. And when you make a trade
is almost as important as what the trade is, because
(36:02):
I would say when is actually more important, because people's
value and what you can get for that player, and
when you have the confidence that players can change over time.
Jayden Daniels is certainly maybe he's worthy of being the
quarterback too. The quarterback too shouldn't be able to buy
you someone who could outproduce or produce the same exact
amount of Fantasy points for the rest of the season
and a top five wide receiver at the position, even
(36:26):
in a super flex league. It's insane to.
Speaker 1 (36:28):
Me, No, it's insane. You can't. You can't look at
those numbers and say, oh, this is what I have
to go by. You keep trade cut like my brother
will always say, it's a tool, but it's not the truth.
Like you come to your own truth and what you
believe and have the conviction to go after the players
(36:48):
you want, or say I'm gonna get off of this
player right now while I still have a chance. And honestly,
you know what we look at you you're talking about
Mike Emmas. This just brings up a point. You know,
we look at the age of these players and we say, oh,
blah blah blah blah, let me get off of them,
you know, because he's about to turn thirty or whatnot.
Blah blah blah blah. That could still like those players.
(37:10):
Those people who give up on those players, and we
all are victor, we all are guilty of it. Those
people give up on those players. That's when you find
yourself with a great, by low opportunity to get those guys,
have them for two or three years, and maybe even
compete for those two or three years because you have
those guys. And it's not it doesn't make you a
(37:33):
bad manager to have older players on your team.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
No, not whatsoever. All Right, I got a different one
for I got another one I'm gonna start with. Let's
say you're, you know, not off to a hot start.
Season's gotten away from you. You have some good win
now pieces, but you know, like it's it's just not
gonna happen this year. You want to get younger. You
have Cooper Cuppy of a MARII Cooper, I gotta throw
(37:59):
in will Disley as a sweetener. But would you do
Cooper cup Amark Cooper for Jayden Reid.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
Straight up, I'm in win now mode.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
Uh No, you're an older team. You're trying to get younger.
Is Jayden Reid attractive enough of a piece to trade
it away? Cooper Cup and a Mark Cooper two very
good win now pieces.
Speaker 1 (38:18):
So I'm so you're tear younger. I'm trading away Cooper
Cupping and Mark Cooper.
Speaker 3 (38:23):
I'm gonna give you a couple of names to trade
away these two guys because I think these are these
are some of the most traded players in Dynasty. I
would assume right now I've traded for Cooper Cupp in places.
I've seen a Mark Cooper fly around Redraft and it's like, hey,
these are great guys at the end of their career.
Situation is super solid to score points now, but the
cliff is coming, and I just it could come at
any moment.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
M I won't, I won't do that.
Speaker 3 (38:47):
You wouldn't say it for Jane Reed.
Speaker 1 (38:48):
No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't, And I love Jane Reed.
I love Jane you know I own him, and people
have come to me for Jaan Reid a couple of times.
But Jayden Reid is a phenomenal player, but he is
on an offense that will shut him. I think he
had two targets last week. If I'm not mistaken, you
could double check that. I might double check it myself.
(39:12):
He is on an offense that will forget him from
week to week, depending on who's open. That's where it
comes down to. Romeo Dobbs has had two exceptional weeks.
It's gonna be weeks where Jayden Reed will score twenty
five to thirty points. But Cooper Cup and Amari Cooper
I think are locked in and have nobody around them.
(39:33):
That's gonna well pooking the cook when he does come back,
he'll take targets away from Cooper Cup, but that still
is such a small target tree. It's just those two
and then everybody else gets the leftovers, maybe Karen Williams,
but then everybody else gets leftover.
Speaker 3 (39:49):
Well speaking, I would want.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
To probably get someone who is more of an alpha
if I can for those two.
Speaker 3 (39:57):
So what about, Okay, you wanted a running back, you
want to get younger running back. Where do you stand
on Kyen Williams, who's having an unbelievable year. It's Cooper
Cup for Amari Cooper and a Marik Cooper for Karen
Williams a risk worth taking for you.
Speaker 1 (40:11):
I would take that every day of the week.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
Really, I just take the Kiren's side.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
Yeah. Man. The usage in LA is like no other,
and it's been like that forever with tdder Gurley and
all those other people can makers whatever. The usage in
LA is like no other. Karen Williams is always the
goal line back. He's always getting the rock around the
goal line. I think it's what nine games in the
roy score to touchdown. It is almost a given. And
(40:38):
he's maybe the only person in fantasy who is a
given the score every week I saw. I would love
to take that chance with him. And he's still twenty
four years old.
Speaker 3 (40:49):
Yeah, no, he's young. I have some listen. I'm a
Karen Williams believer. I traded for him. Dylan made fun
of me on this show, like Karen Williams is gonna
get replaced by Blake corm Yeah, but how.
Speaker 1 (40:58):
Did I remember that?
Speaker 3 (40:59):
I was, yeah, oh yeah, he talks to right. I'm
a believer in conon Williams. But that being said, there's
still red flags through his career long stability with the rams.
We've seen them punt away a running back. I don't
want to say he was in his prime because Todd
Gurdley fell apart, but the system makes the running back
really really good in my opinion, more than Kyen Williams.
You know, like it's raheem mostered on the goal line
(41:20):
last year. It's like it was a great system, but
they could easily draw someone to replace it in Korums,
a good back. I just don't know. Running backs and
dynastay are tough, especially someone like Karon Williams. I think
he's the perfect example, Like he's so productive and he's
so good, but also he's a sixth round pick. It's
a lot of it's happening at the goal line, you know.
Speaker 1 (41:39):
Yeah, what a trade to receive in is prime for him.
That's like, you know, of Cooper cup or Mark Cooper's stature, probably.
Speaker 3 (41:46):
Wouldn't say they're in their their problem in the back
end of their prime, but even then it's like, hey,
they these both these guys can give me week winning
weeks for the next two years potentially.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Yeah, you know, I know, so grinding back, I find
that I find that Kiren Williams because of the fact
that he is getting ninety percent of the snaps or
whatever he gets every week.
Speaker 3 (42:10):
I think it's a worthy risk for it running back.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Who compares to that? To be honest with you, I mean,
it's great, Becks, but not.
Speaker 3 (42:18):
The flip side. The flip side, Listen, I'm just playing
Devil's Avy to be honest, I do that deal as well.
And the reason is is now you're getting two positions
worth of production in the price of one, and so
in one starting slot you can get fifteen to thirty points, right,
like that's your range instead of eight to sixteen. That's
a huge deal Number one. Number two? What if it
does continue? What if Kien Williams is actually a huge
(42:40):
reason that he's as good as he is, and it's
not just the system. What if the Rams signed to
a long term deal and he does this for five
to ten years, you're five, not ten, but five years,
you're a static and that's a franchise changing move. So
I'm willing to take that risk. What would you do?
Last question on this particular setup for Jonathan Taylor? What
do you do with Jonathan Taylor in general? But Jonathan Taylor,
(43:00):
that's an even trade. Cooper Cup of Mark Cooper for
Jonathan Taylor straight up very disappointing. Anthony Richardson. I feel
like Anthony Richardson could hit the wings of a fly
at one hundred yards but couldn't hit the broad side
of a barn at ten yards away.
Speaker 1 (43:16):
You know what I mean, that's fair. That's fair.
Speaker 3 (43:20):
If it's a difficult downfield throw, I'm like, okay, I
believe if it's a normal Yeah. Anyway, Colt's offense makes
no sense. Jonathan Taylor's banged up again, doesn't seem motivated,
isn't running the ball?
Speaker 1 (43:31):
Well?
Speaker 3 (43:32):
What do you do with Jonathan Taylor? Oh?
Speaker 1 (43:33):
I thought he was running the ball well before he
got hurt. I really no, he was wise, he was
still producing, He was producing decently.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
He wasn't week winning. He was the RB one two
three years ago, probably three years ago, trying to remember.
But he wasn't set in the world on fire. I
think it was like, let me pull up his game log.
Speaker 1 (43:59):
Yeah, I got him in. I just traded for him.
So this is this is near and dear to my heart.
Speaker 3 (44:05):
Interesting. Well then yeah, what's your okay? So you're still
a believer?
Speaker 1 (44:10):
Yeah, so yeah, okay, you know what I I that's fair.
He was this year RB twenty nine, RB fourteen, RB
four RB thirteen, So.
Speaker 3 (44:20):
Yeah, I'm saying he's had one, he's ad one top
five finished. Yeah, and they's been injured. So I'm like,
I'm not blown away by RB thirteen R fourteen. That's fine,
that's that's serviceable. But you know, take Bigsby's doing that now.
Speaker 1 (44:32):
No, no, I get that. I will say this. Let
me let me just say this, this one caveat, and
this is why I picked him up. He played Houston,
he played green Bay, Chicago and Pittsburgh. With the exception
of green Bay, those are three tough run defenses.
Speaker 3 (44:47):
I'd say it is actually a pretty pretty good defense
in general, a.
Speaker 1 (44:50):
Good defense, but their run defense is probably the worst
part of the defense. They usually they've passed defense is
way better. But like, that's three pretty tough matchups out
of four for him. I and I wonder if and
if they went to Flacco, do you believe let me
ask you real quick, do you believe Jonathan Taylor would
be better off with Flacco? Or you think it's better
(45:10):
for him to.
Speaker 3 (45:11):
Better off with Flacco? The entire everyone on the Colts
is better off with Flaco. Anthony Richardson is a project.
He'd that needs to sit for literally three years. He
just doesn't have enough reps. He doesn't know how to
play the quarterback position. He's an unbelievable athlete. But to
say at this point in the year that we think
he can be a starter in the NFL right now
is acidine. He can't hit the broadside of the barn.
(45:32):
It's bad and you need those check you need those
momentum building plays. Listen, I'm not sure. I'm not trying
to dog on it. And hey Richardson, because Dylan loves him.
It just brings me extra pleasure because Dylan loves him.
To speak the truth, Anthony Richardon is not ready to
be a starter in the NFL. That doesn't mean he
should be abandoned. I really do feel the Colts should,
like just do the green band amount. Not to say
(45:52):
Jordan Love would have been this inaccurate, because that wasn't
he had more experienced playing the position, Jordan Love, and
year one would have been probably a disaster, right, That
was a project QB.
Speaker 1 (46:02):
Don't look in season in the first couple of years
he looked bad.
Speaker 3 (46:05):
Yes, yeah, don't draft a project, QB. To be win. Now,
it doesn't work, they get bad habits, they do all
these different stuff. So it's like we've seen that lesson
before that was trade.
Speaker 1 (46:15):
What No, wait, just to answer your question, would I
would take a chance on Jonathan Taylor? And I tell you,
I just tell you why you said that. A couple
of years ago he was the RB one or whatever.
I just don't think there are a lot of guys
who are capable of that type of production. Yeah, on
an offense with that kind of offensive line, who's committed
to running the ball in that way.
Speaker 3 (46:35):
With the great offensive minded head coach, with.
Speaker 1 (46:38):
A great offensive mind head coach, I'm willing to take
that chance. It's a risk. It's such a risk because
he does get hurt, and because, like you said, Anthony
Richardson is not a quarterback who's gonna take pressure off
of him and they won't stack the box. But I
do believe he's worth it because he can possibly get
you fifteen rushing touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (46:56):
Yeah, I'm with you. Here's why I'm worth it. I'm
changing a little little bit of my opinion about running
backs in Dynasty. I think the top ten guys and
that changes. But like guys I thought Joe Mixon had
hit a cliff for three years. Joe Mixon has been
a top five running back the last three years, Derrick Henry,
Alvin Kamara, And maybe it's just this season and the
(47:18):
recency bias of the season. Running backs do fall off.
They are far more injury prone historically. But guys like
David Montgomery, I traded him to and from when he
was with Chicago thinking his career was had mostly passed
him by. David Montgomery has been traded for a second
for years and been an RB two or better or
an RB one for years, and we've just been like, well,
he's a running back, it's not gonna happen. I think
(47:39):
Jonathan Taylor, with the contract, with the talent, is going
to be like, are we really surprised if, at age
twenty seven he has an RB one year. No, it's
Jonathan Taylor. He's one of the best most generational talents
of physical prospects. Yes he will hit a cliff, just
like Austin Eckler. Yes he will, but you'll see it
coming a little bit more. I think Todd Gurley hurt people,
and I think Christian McCaffrey has hurt people. For years
(48:00):
with just like just not being available like the elite
running backs. We've doubted them and that's a reason they've
been league winners for a lot of people. Well, that
is gonna do it for today's episode of The Dynasty Exchange,
Thanks too much for stopping in. Just a hedads up
legue announcement. Thomas and I were talking pre show. I
think the Dynasty Exchange, whoever loses in the League of Record,
which might be me because I'm taking in that league,
(48:20):
gonna have to do five minutes of stand up somewhere.
We're gonna have to figure out a stand up comedy routine.
So we will try that out on you one of
these shows, just to see if it works well. But
all jokes aside, Thanks for stopping it again because we're helpful.
Next time, bright cdp
Speaker 2 (48:41):
Okay
