Speaker 1 (00:00):
Nay, oh yeah. In some of the best movies of
all time, a last second plot twist that changes who
the villain is is what makes the movie so great. Dylan,
I think of the usual suspects, which you have probably
(00:23):
never seen, But the question in that movie is who
really is Kaiser SoSE? Who is the villain pulling the strings?
Who is the bad guy making moves behind the scenes?
And I just want to say as we launch into
this news segment, Brandon Ayuk is not actually the villain
of the off season. The fantasy villain of the off
(00:43):
season is Jamar Chase. Because Brandon Ayuk gets a deal done,
He's gonna play Week one, and now at the last second,
every Jamar Chase owner is panicking. I thought I had
a pinnacle of my team. I am tilting football is
right around the corner. College football is here, and I
don't have Thomas to back me up on movie references
because he unfortunately is a little bit ill today not
joining us. Thomas, you are missed. We will have you
(01:04):
back as soon as possible. But Dylan, that's a lot
to take in. I need you to console me as
a friend. First question that I need you to answer,
have you actually seen The Usual Suspects?
Speaker 2 (01:13):
No, you said Kaiser Permanante.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
What did you say? I know you.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
You look like an idiot right.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Now, I look like an idiot. Yes, what is what
is the movie? What is it?
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Usual guys, It's called The Usual Suspects.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
I don't want to spoil too much. You would actually
like this movie. It's a very good movie. The way
it takes you, Like, what year did it come out?
Late late nineties? I think it's Tarantino. I don't know
if it's Tarantino. No, it's like an all time classic, bro,
genuinely all time classic. And it takes place, you know,
Key and Peele have a riff off skit about it, Okay,
like there's a like this is Top fifty movies. I'm
(01:52):
in some like this is up there, but it takes
place like in a boardroom, like a cop is interviewing
a suspect after a crime has been committed, and you're
getting the story secondhand.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
My point is Brandon aiyuk.
Speaker 1 (02:05):
You and I thought for certain after last like going
into last week, it was like, dude, will this guy
stop being a diva and causing all of this fantasy
drama because there's always someone It's Lev Bell several years ago,
it's Zeke Elliott's impending suspension, or you know, remember he
was in Mexico one year and during the off season
for contract extensions. You know, Tyreek Hill was scary. Like
(02:28):
there's always someone that you're terrified to draft that takes
a dip, and we thought it was Brandon Aiyuk. He
gets a deal done. Last second, that's awesome. Implications of
that we got to get into. But I mention, last second,
Jamar Chase is scaring the crap out of me. Because
Zach Taylor came out today. Jamar Chase, it is Monday
when we're recording this, you'll be hearing this Tuesday. Zach
(02:48):
Dalis said, Yeah, we're taking this day to day because
Jamar Chase is here. He's in street clothes. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
I mean that's not good. It's it's not good. And
I mean a lot of people have their fantasy drafts
this weekend, right this was the last weekend you can
get your drafts in, so a ton of people have
their drafts, and I can guarantee you a lot of
people right now are sweat and bullets because they took
Jamar Chase top five pick and I didn't.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, I have him in one of our main dinacee
and like win now team in Dallas Diego. Did you
take him fifth? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (03:22):
Oh that's right, you were right before me. Oh thank
goodness you bit that boy before me, because I would
have done the exact same thing.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
Anything for you, buddy, anything, thank you.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
No.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
But I mean, so Jamar Chase, I mean, if I'm
giving a realistic percentage of what I think the likelihood
of him missing time, like not playing this week, at
this point, I would give it like a seventy five
percent chance. Like I'm pretty I'm pretty sure he's going
to miss this week, and he's gonna send a message
to the Bengals regardless if he doesn't miss this week.
(03:54):
Do you actually think you're gonna get the Jamar Chase
you drafted at one oh five and a redraft League
value this week?
Speaker 1 (04:01):
I mean, I don't think I'm getting. The thing about
Jamar Chase is like I think he can score twenty
points and not have a great like the best day
he could NFL wise, because Jamar Chase can score fifty
points genuinely, you know what I mean. When he's at
the peak of his powers. Could Jamar Chase still take
a slant to the house. Yes, I agree with you
(04:22):
about week one, though, I think this is a guy
we have to remember who sat out a full collegiate season.
To stand on business right, his base salary this year
is really minimal. I think it's like a it's four
million or a million bucks, like that's the base guaranteed salary.
So it's like if he's getting one hundred and thirty
million dollar deal. Because the reports I'm seeing is that
he wants justin Jefferson's contract exactly plus one penny, which
(04:44):
I love the pettiness there for like just to one
up your boy.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
That's so great.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
What's not great is I genuinely think he could sit
out several games. I have heard a theory if you
just follow me on this, after September fifth, they have
to pay Joe burr Row a massive check this year,
and that'll be on the books for this year. But
once that's gone, like after September fifth, you're in a
new league year. They the Bengals might be able to
(05:10):
work something out for next year as soon as this
year's cash kind of closes, because there will be a
signing bonus I guess I don't know, but that's but
here's the point. The fact that I'm paying attention to
little details like that tells me, tells everyone how nervous
and however, owner, Yes, because this is this is a
not just the pinnacle of any fantasy team, specifically in dynasty,
(05:32):
this is a wide receiver in super flex leagues, taken
in the first round. This is someone you're counting on,
uh to build around. You're passing up on qbs and
and great players because you trust Jamar Chase can be
a Hall of Fame caliber player. And to not have
him Week one when you really never expected that being
the case, because there's two years left on his contract,
is concerning nothing we can do. Just wait and see,
(05:53):
hope and pray.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
Right, not much, Yeah, I mean no, I mean there's
not much to say. But I do think let's have
a little bit of a therapy session for those who
did draft and redraft leagues Jamar Chase because it's a
bummer and redraft dynasty is a different story. Long term,
we all know he's gonna be fine. Now, if you're
competing this year and he's a key piece to you competing, yes, it's.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Going to be brutal. It's going to be brutal. It's
going to be brutal to wait and see.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Because I mean, you kneeled it. If it is for
I don't know the exact numbers, don't have Hi in
front of me, but if it is like four million
what he's earning this year, he's like, bro shitt hear
Sanders is earning that at Colorado and in il money,
Why give me my money?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
Give me like I did, not like, he's one of
the best.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
Wide receivers in the league and he's going to sit
out until he gets his money.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
He already did.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
He already did sit out in college like you were
talking about. So, I mean, there's no doubt that I
think he'll do it again now going to the redraft dynasty.
He'll be fine long term.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
We know that.
Speaker 2 (06:50):
Redraft you you should pivot, not saying you should trade,
but you should plan for him not to be there.
So what does that look like? I don't know.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
I mean, I sub feature right, that's the auto.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
That's been audio.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
That's if you are in a league and that hasn't
been a raging fire of a debate, you're not in
a good enough league like people are, I mean, have
strong opinions on this, and let me.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
Let me ask you a question. I was just thinking
about Jamar Chase. So Jamar Chase me personally, I based
off of how this off season's gone, I understand Jamar
Chase is Jamar Chase in redraft. I am not opposed
to trading Jamar Chase. I am not if someone else
wants to take on.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
That liability, no question.
Speaker 2 (07:35):
And I can trade Jamar Chase for a J. Brown
in a little plus.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Dude, I can trade him for a J. Brown straight
up right now.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
I don't know about straight up, but if I can
do a J. Brown plus, yes, in redraft, like because
you here's the thing. You can still sell Jamar Chase
the name, like sell the narrative. Like I understand he's
going to be He's.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
Immediately after me in redraft.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
In that leag, I will trade you Jamar Chase for
Barley straight up up right now. It's your inbox.
Speaker 3 (08:03):
It's in your inbox, like, we will do this right now.
Speaker 1 (08:07):
I'm not to that, it's I'm not opposed to that.
We will take a commercial break.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
When the commercial break happens, it's done.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
Your congratulations, I think I don't.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
I think you in redraft, I get the panic. I
understand the panic, and I think, but you said it
at the top of the show. He's a guy that
he doesn't need to practice all all off season and
get acclimated into the offense. Like you know, as soon
as that deal is done, he gets on the field
maybe of rusty game ish like I'm talking about like
still double digit like ten or eleven points. But then
(08:38):
you're gonna get Jamar Chase, right, So I mean I
wouldn't panic panic, I mean pivot as in, do not
expect him to play this week. So if you need
to make waiver wire moves for whatever reason and get
someone that can give you some high upside to start
in your lineup, do that. But yeah, I don't know,
I'm not It doesn't look good. It does not look
good for Jamar Chase. On that note, T Higgins, if
(09:00):
you drafted T Higgins.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Yeah, Tim Higgins.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
It feels like he could be a league winner this season,
like because such a big part of fantasy, especially even
in dynasty leagues, that that first four weeks, which by
the way, that's the key to the show. We're gonna
be going through Q one predictions. Break your fantasy season
up into four quarters, just like any great business, and
we have our Q one projections and our advice for you,
But really those first four games that affects your mentality
(09:26):
on the waiver wire affects your mentality with trades in
Diynasty leagues, if you start owing three or own four
to one and three, you're probably looking to kind of
sell off some assets, even if you feel like you're
a team that can win. Now I know you're If
you're a good owner like me, you're looking at the
rest of.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Your schedule, manage your teams like me the great Joshua.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
If you're if you're obsessed and spend way too much
time on the hobby, which our listeners most certainly do,
you're already looking at your schedule and going, okay, do
I still have a shot for playoffs? Obviously good things
can happen. But in Dynasty, it's like, hey, it it's
not the worst thing in the world. It's actually fun
when you embrace it. Hey, this isn't the year I
need to make trades and think about the future. That's
(10:07):
a huge deal. Right, So if Jamar Chase, who I
have in Dynasty on a team I'm competing with Bro.
If we start out flat, now it's a stack team.
But if we start out flat, yeah, Bro will will
embrace next season. It's not a problem in.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Reason higging three you in that league if you want
to make a little switch through, I mean, not just
trade out obviously, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
I'm gonna pass on that, but moving on, I do,
I mean, I could, I could. I'm freaking out about
this so I could talk about Jamar Chase all night
because it feels like, so.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
Let's let's let's land on a verdict. Let's land on
a verdict. Okay, go ahead, go ahead.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
See your point. Well, I was gonna say, it's like,
it feels like, hey, Christmas is around the corner, but
the present I ordered my wife like it was supposed
to get here on time. I had a whole plan.
I was gonna wrap it so nice and be a hero.
Now I'm hearing it might arrive the day after Christmas,
and I might be the terrible husband who completely messed
it up. That's how I feel right now, like I
should be focused on Christmas and hot cocoa and the
(10:58):
excitement of the season. Because the nflc is right around
the corner. It is tantalizing. I can taste it. I'm
so excited, but my mind is completely drawn to the
fact that Jamar Chase might be selfish and put his
family and his actual real life needs first then my
made up football teams. Yeah, and we could move on.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
But I just I don't know how this has gone
so long without you know, everyone just kind of was like, oh, no,
Jase is fine, like chasell figured out, Chaser figured out
Ayuk was the big focus. And then all of a sudden,
here we are six days away from their game, and
everyone's now like, Okay, he actually is not getting a
deal right now.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
What is going on?
Speaker 2 (11:36):
But to tabo on it, Redraft, I mean, if you can,
like I said, I would personally trade Jamar Chase for
aj Brown plus and just sell the Jamar Chase narrative
as much as you can. And it's just not a
headache I want to deal with. I don't want to
worry about when he's gonna get back to form, when
he's gonna get paid. I just don't want to deal
with that. I understand you paid a top five pick, bummer,
it's Redraft. You pivot, you adapt and overcome dynasty. He's
(11:59):
gonna be fine.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
I love it really quickly. Brende did sign a long
term deal, super exciting. Believe it was somewhere in the
seventies range of the guaranteed money, and that was kind
of what the hold up was. I think, what was
it one hundred and ten hundred and twenty one hundred
and twenty over over four years.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
Yeah, yeah, and then he got seventy mili guaranteed.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Great deal for Brandon Aiyuk. This is huge for Brock
Party and I do think if you have debo, you
need to be a little bit suspicious that maybe they
move on from him after next is it next season
or this season? Because I do think they have outs
on his contract after this season, so they can't afford
to pay Rock Party and every single all star, Fred Warner,
Nick Bosa, George Kittle, Trent Williams who is still missing,
(12:45):
but awesome for au owners. Congratulations you won the You
won the Game of Chicken, and I'm happy for you.
I'm very sad for me. Also, keeping with the forty
nine ers, this is a terrible theme, but thank goodness,
Ricky Pearsall is okay. He was.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
If you're a Ricky Pierce All rookie owner in some leagues.
Speaker 1 (13:03):
Uh. He sustained a gunshot injury. Someone was allegedly trying
to rob him. He defended himself. Mad Street Cred respect
not gonna comment on whether you should or shouldn't do that.
I wasn't there or anything like that. People have turned
it political online. All I'm happy about is Ricky Pierce
All is okay. Uh, And he looks like he'll miss
certainly the first four weeks in Dynasty. I mean, the
street Cred goes up right, like you survive gunshot. When
(13:24):
you come back, you get the Brian Robinson many men
kind of value boost. Like I like him more as
a player now I'll be honest, like he you know
what I mean, Like it's cool, you know what I'm saying,
Like to some extent, like he's like it's great. He
can't pull, he can't do mini men.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
He's got to come out to like something eminem to,
like collapse or something.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Like why why is that? Why is that Dylan?
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Why he is not coming out to fifty cent mini men.
I'm just I can't but he needs to come out
to like collapse or something some eminem No but I
mean all jokes aside. I mean, you know, it's it's
never a laughing matter. Same thing last off season. Was
(14:03):
it last off season when Brian Robinson? Or was this
season before Tank Dell?
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Was a season season? But it was like a minor,
minor thing.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yeah, yeah, that's right, that's right. So I mean, it's
never a laughing matter. You know, we're making joke of it.
But I mean, thank god that he's he's he's well.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Thank god we can laugh about it because yes, we're
in the in the context of fantasy fantasy. This isn't
a tragedy. We're here to talk fantasy football. That's that's
the bottom line. But it affects I don't think it
affects his value long term. If anything, genuinely, I think
his value will go up in like a keep trade
cup because people are like, oh, they got the news sick,
you know.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
What I mean, there's yeah, so what are you doing
with him in dynasty?
Speaker 1 (14:42):
I think you're just holding I think you were. As
soon as I get gets re signed, he becomes interesting.
When either Debo moves on or IUK moves on. Most
likely it's going to be Debo, I believe, Yeah, Debo
will be twenty nine this season, and his contract was
front loaded. He has usage like a running back can't
really stay healthy. It's important to remember it took iyuk
(15:04):
I believe three years to break out as well. He
was even a post type sleeper for a lot of people,
a lot of people. So for Ricky Piersoll, I think
for anything, this helps people's dynasty mentality of him because like, oh,
he was injured in year one, no fault of his own,
and you give him a pass on your one because
I don't think the production will be there, Like he's
he's what the fifth target on the on the team,
(15:24):
so he really becomes interesting as the long term stash
so we can move on.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
I mean the franchise, the forty nine Ers franchise is
a patient franchise. The fact that they are still holding
on to while I'm drawing a blank on his name,
backup running back Elijah Mitchell.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
Yeah, the fact that they still hold.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
On Elijah Mitchell six.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Round pick injury after injury.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Now he's out.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Yeah, but Elijah Mitchell is out for the rest of
the season now.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
No, I'm just commenting, You're right, they're patient.
Speaker 1 (15:54):
Because I remember they're very patient. Yeah, like he was
twenty eight when he went to the Dolphins' roster. That's crazy. Well,
this has been a hectic news segment. There's been a
lot of different roster. We're gonna sit here for a second.
Why because we were talking.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
We were talking before we got on air about college football, which,
by the way, phenomenal first week of college football. I
mean it was just lights out, lights out phenomenal week
Tech Texas Tech one. So it's a good week. We're
not going to talk about how close the game was.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Anyways, First twenty twenty five first have gone up in value.
They look very good. League of record in dynasty. Shange all,
I have his first round pick. So Ted McMillan, welcome
to the team.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
That contract, I mean, Luna it come on, so we
all know on here, Texas Tech is my team. I
went to Texas Tech. Those are my guys, lobby Texas
recom Tech. Joshua Walsh now, I from what I remember,
was a Texas A and m Aggie fan, which, Lord
help his soul. I think he's actually repenting now and
(17:01):
I think he's turning his changing his tune a little bit.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
But where who Who's your school?
Speaker 2 (17:06):
Because you won't tell me.
Speaker 1 (17:07):
Well, so I haven't told you yet. I was gonna
announce it, and then we realized the show is a
great place to announce it. So here's the deal. Second grade, Dylan,
I had a crush on a friend of ours, a
mutual friend of ours, and that was the reason I
shows A and M. Because she was an NFL. I
was like, I guess I'll be an ANM fan. I
didn't grow up with a rich college history. I didn't
attend went to a tiny school out in California, a
Bible college, right, Like, didn't get to pick a tradition, right.
(17:29):
And so last year there's a friend of mine who's
a fan of this team, and I didn't appreciate all
of the hate this franchise.
Speaker 2 (17:37):
I know, I know, I know who this is.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
All right, I'll let you guess who is it.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
You're such a bandwagon. Everyone who likes this school is
a bandwagon. Ohio State.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
It's not a bandwagon. But yes, I am committing my
talents to Ohio State. Because what sealed the deal. I
made this decision a year ago. I freaking watched the
Connor Stallions, which was nomenal. By the way, the they
did a Netflix documentary on it was like untold. It's
it's their version of thirty for thirty I forget. It's
like untold sports stories, and they made they made Michigan.
(18:10):
Like everyone in the media is just like gushing over
Michigan even though they know they cheated, and I can't
stand it. On top of that, you've come after Justin Fields.
He's an Ohio State guy, like I've There's all these
players I have defended from Ohio State and I've never
really picked a college program.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
And you know what the other thing is doing.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
I'm used to being a cowboy fan. I'm used to
being hated for who I like in sports, So why
not join a franchise that's really hated right now nobody
likes even though it's a powerhouse, super successful, great tradition.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
I'm in.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
I'm taking my talents to the to the Ohio State.
Oh I owe, baby, here we come. I've got a
lot of catching up to do on like the traditions
and stuff, you know what I mean. But yeah, yeah,
you're a few years behind. Yeah, bro, I'm like, who's
our gup? Ryan Day? Okay, great? He seems like a jerk.
I'm not a fan, but like, all right, here we go.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
But I really what.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
It is is, I can't stand Michigan. I'm I'm done
with Michigan. I think the media bias for Michigan is unbelievable.
It's corrupt and I've had enough of it. And I
stand with the old school, long standing tradition and the
truth and the fact is Michigan were cheaters last year.
It doesn't taint I don't think it taints the championship,
(19:21):
but it taints there. Oh, the Michigan it's bull crap.
Speaker 2 (19:25):
To me, I don't listen. I'm with you on the
not liking Michigan part. I'm with you on that. But
I don't like Ohio State either. They're just as bad.
They may not be cheaters, but they just aren't. They
they're not. They're overhyped. Every year they're overhyped.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
I don't know if they're overhyped. They've they've have won
two national championships.
Speaker 2 (19:41):
In the last ten years, So ten years, okay.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
That's a big deal.
Speaker 3 (19:45):
Text attacks everyone.
Speaker 2 (19:47):
It's great, it's great, that's great, it's great.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
They're a good school. I'm not saying it.
Speaker 2 (19:50):
And they listen, don't throw don't throw shade at my boys.
Speaker 1 (19:52):
Texas TAK.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
They don't have the boosters, they don't have the ni yell. Okay,
we're getting there.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
Well, we need to get to commercial break so that
so that you can grow, this podcast can grow and
become a booster and help grow with them. But yes,
Ohio State, I'm in oh Io. We'll be back right
after this. Welcome back into Dylan. That's probably the most
(20:20):
hectic opening segment we've ever had. I'm just a I
am a bottle of emotions and I feel like a
bottle of rocket because it's just bursting at the seams
with football right around the corner. But you know what,
you know, great dynasty owners are dying. They're controlled, very demure,
very down to earth cool collecting. Sorry, that's just me
trying to stay relevant. I'm flirting with thirty. I got
a kid, you know, I'm on Instagram Like.
Speaker 2 (20:42):
This is trying to stay away from the lingo. That's
not the way to stay here.
Speaker 3 (20:45):
I couldn't agree more. Last year we kind of discovered
this segment.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
Organically break your fantasy season up into sets of four
games because the reality is no one plays in Week eighteen.
Week seventeen is the championship. If you do four games
of four throughout the fantasy season. That's just like any business.
Q one, Q two, Q three, and Q four. So
Dylan and I have prepared some players at each position
and some advice on buying selling moves that we're looking
(21:12):
to make in all of our dynasty leagues. For Q one,
I really believe that this truly is the way to
play fantasy in general. Especially also in redraft. You need
to kind of like I draft not completely based on
the first four games, but if there's a player I'm
in between on I'm gonna go with the guy like
Player A and player B, I look at who they're
(21:33):
starting out the season against because lots of trades happen,
a lot of things change, and if you can get
off to a hot start, it's like being the chip
leader in poker. You can just kind of balloon the
pot up and you can bluff more and bet people
off the pot. You can swing for the ventses more
and plan for championships because you have more of a buffer.
If you start out slow, it's a little bit harder
to do. But listen, if you're already at rebuilding franchise.
(21:55):
There's some guys in here you can totally flip at
the perfect time, and we've got those highlighted. But Dylan,
would you start us off, my good man, would you
go to your wide receiver that you're highlighting for Q one,
And just to be clear, this can be a bye,
this can be a seal, this can be a hold.
You're just highlighting those first four games and what it's
going to do to this player's value.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
For me, the guy that I have is someone that
I think is being slept on because he had some
legal issues. Now I think it's pretty obvious at this
point he is not going to face any suspension this year,
at least I'm confident in that. And the guy I'm
talking about is Rashi Rice. Rashi Rice is someone that
I think is being slept on and he's falling in
drafts because of the hype of Xavier Worthy in that offense.
(22:38):
I mean, it's just outrageous. And then on top of that,
everyone was worried and wondering is he going to face
suspension for his off the field issues last or this
past offseason. I don't think that's going to be a concern.
Hollywood Brown is injured, and we know that Patrick Mahomes
takes a little bit to actually warm up to wide receivers.
So it's not a slight to Patrick mahone at all.
(23:00):
It's more so just him gaining rapport with wide receivers, right.
And so last year we saw that, I mean Rashie
Rice didn't really catch on till that second half of
the season. Coming into this season, they have a new look.
I mean, Travis kelce We know Travis Kelsey is gonna
be Travis kelcey. Him and Patrick Mahomes are gonna they're
gonna do their thing. But when it comes to the
wide receiver room, I still think that Rashi Rice is
(23:21):
the wide receiver one until proven otherwise. I'm not saying that.
That doesn't mean that Xavier Worthy can't overtake him and
Targets can't overtake him in production. Sure, I mean the
draft capital justifies it, Xavier Worthy's talent justifies that. But
when we're talking about the first quarter of the season,
Rashee Rice is the one that has the most rapport
with Patrick Mahomes and he's been there, He's had success already.
(23:43):
So I'm gonna bet on that guy, and I mean,
you can get Rashi Rice in the sixth round, seventh round,
which to me is an absolute steal. Like if you
can get the wide receiver one for Patrick Mahomes. I
understand the received number one receiving option is Travis Kelcey,
but the wide receiver one Foratrick Mahomes in an offense
where I think this year, Patrick Mahons is going to
(24:03):
I mean, get last year out of your mind. Last
year was a y that was a low production year
and he's still Patrick Mahomes finished as the QB eight.
He's going to go bonkers this year and I think
with the weapons that he has around him, is going
to be phenomenal. Rashi Rice in the second year in
this offense, I mean, if I can get a receiver
like that in the sixth somewhere between six and eighth round,
(24:25):
it depends on what league you're in, it's weird. But
if I can get him in the sixth round, give
me all the Rashi Rice that I can get for
the first especially for those first four games, like you're
talking about.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
In Dynasty, Are you selling him in four weeks because
you're concerned? I mean, the suspension's probably coming next year.
Xavier Worthy established it. Is it like use him for
the early start of this season and then cash out,
or is it now he's going to get off to
a hot start and be great for a long time.
How do you feel about Rashi Rice on your roster
(24:55):
from a dynasty context, because I agree in redraft, I
couldn't agree with you more. Every shot I I took
on him in Best Ball or in any re draft
league I'm in. I'm like, hah, suckers, I win, Like
that's a free that's a free space, right, especially when
you consider Rashi Rice had a very good rookie year.
He had an incredible rookie year. If you consider Andy
(25:16):
Reid's rookie wide receiver expectations, Rookie wide receivers under Andy
Reid do horrible, and Rashi Rice was more than serviceable.
He had a very like one of the best rookie
years and Andy Reid wide receiver has ever had. So
I love the start, but for dynasty purposes doing how
are you feeling with him knowing that he had some
off the field problems and Xavier Worthy is someone long
term that I'm a big believer in.
Speaker 2 (25:37):
That's an excellent question, and I think when it comes
to Dynasty and the Kansas City Chiefs, we've got to
start thinking longer term. Travis Kelce's thirty four years old.
I know that he just signed an extension, but that
doesn't mean that just because he has money behind his
name that production isn't going.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
To fall off.
Speaker 2 (25:52):
And so at some point Travis Kelcey is going to
trickle off when it comes to production, and Patrick Mahomes
is gonna have to find someone. Is Rashi Rice going
to face suspension at some point. I'm not letting a
what maximum six games I think he'll get maximum six
games suspension deter me from someone who I think can
(26:14):
actually be a consistent piece in this offense, a consistent producer,
even alongside Xavier Worthy. They're two completely different wide receivers
who play completely different roles. So no, I'm not trading him.
If he has a hot start, I'm not gonna panic. Actually,
if I don't have him and he comes up to
a hot start, and then you know.
Speaker 3 (26:33):
No one's trying to sell.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
Alone's trying to tell.
Speaker 2 (26:36):
Because Travis Kelsey is probably gonna have a good year.
Xavier Worthy made me eat into it, But I'm playing
the long game with Rashi Rice, and I think that
he can be a consistent guy moving forward in Dynasty
And so no, I'm not trading him something.
Speaker 1 (26:47):
Love that response. By the way you sold me on it.
I was genuinely on the fence. I don't know how
to feel about it either way. Did you see the
blurb that Patrick Mahome said, Taylor Swift has been drawing
up some plays they may have to throw him there.
I feel like he's just trolling, But like that is
so demoral. Can you imagine losing to the Taylor Swift
play like in playoffs? Like the Chiefs are that good?
(27:09):
Like h terrible? No, Just to just to conclude on
Rashi Rice, I love your take on it, and I
think it's important to remember Patrick Mahomes can be not
in every not every years he can throw fifty touchdowns,
but I think he has He's one of the few
qbs in the NFL that could do that any given year.
And Rashi Rice can be the wide receiver two in
three years and that's still be incredibly valuable because you're
(27:32):
just connected to greatness. So I love the take. It's
a great player to highlight staying at the wide receiver position. Uh,
it's Cooper Cup for me, and my advice is you
should sell him after week four.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Here's here's the reasoning. One.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
I think Cooper Cup is going to outscore Pookaakua in
the first four weeks, almost guaranteed, and it has a
hot start.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
I mean week one, you're going up against.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Detroit, right like, that's gonna be fireworks, that's gonna be
an offensive explosion. I think Cooper Cup is going to
have not just a great first four weeks. He probably
gonna have a great season, but especially his first four
weeks I think are gonna be very good. But this
guy's thirty one years old. Matt Stafford is thirty six
years old, and I understand the rapport those two have
is incredibly valuable. And I do believe the Rams are
on the upswing, but I would rather be early than late.
(28:18):
Cooper Cup has depressed his value over the last two years,
but I think the first four weeks people he's gonna
shoot up so high in value because people are like,
oh my gosh, he's a route runner.
Speaker 3 (28:28):
He can do this a long time. No, he can't.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
Wide receivers. The age Cliff is thirty two. Cooper Cup
has already been in the league for seven years. It
is the best years are behind him. And if that
nostalgia hits, especially like Week three, Week four, if you're
on the other end of that hot start right, you're
one to three, one four like you're you're looking to
sell off players anyway, With Cooper Cup, if you sell
(28:52):
him to a three and one, a three and one
or a four and OHO team, they will pay a premium.
If someone believes they have a shot at a championship
that season, you dare I say, you could please the
first out of him. It may not be this year,
but if you can get that for someone who's thirty one,
Cooper Cup may end up being the Mike Evans of
last year. And I completely understand that. But unless you
are sure unequivocally you are one of the top two
(29:13):
or three teams in your Dinosty league, he doesn't belong
on your roster because I also believe over the course
of the season his age will catch up with him.
He's had hamstring issues in the past. Pokinakula is there,
Jordan Waddington is someone to pay attention to. I don't
think Cooper Cup can sustain that like I think he
could have like triple Crown level numbers like when he
was he broke fantasy. Was that twenty twenty one?
Speaker 3 (29:35):
I think it was.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Yeah, it's two years ago, three years ago, years ago. Yeah,
twenty two. I think was it twenty twenty two? Yeah, no,
it twenty three. It was twenty one. Here's how I know,
because in twenty twenty two he was still really good,
but he only played eight games. Then he got injured,
and then last year was the year he came in
with a hamstring injury.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Remember, gotcha? I think so yeah, yeah, I think I'm
trying to check.
Speaker 1 (29:57):
But yeah, people that nostalgia hit will happen. People will
be like, oh my god, I'm getting the league winner back. Dude,
he might even be. That's okay, but odds are he
isn't that, And odds are after this season the cliff
really really hits. So if you can catch out, you should.
But in redraft, dude, he's going in the fourth. I
am wishing I had some Cooper Cup. I'm kind of
(30:17):
regretting certain draft picks I made in at the leaks
because I think it's going to be an electric start.
Speaker 2 (30:22):
Yeah, I mean, that's a tough one. Cooper Cup. I
think he can start off hot. I agree, and part
of that is, you know my views on pooguin Akua.
We're not going to make this about Pukunakoa, but I
think Cooper Cup can very much come out to a
hot start because I think he already has that established report.
A lot of poguan Akua's production came because of I
understand Cooper Cup was on the field more last year,
(30:43):
but he wasn't like he was on the field, but
he was not healthy and he was not one hundred
percent and that was a lot of why we saw
the offense operate the way that it did. I'm expecting
that coming out of camp, it sounds like he's healthy,
so I'm expecting him to not I'm not saying he's
going to pick up right where he left off because
he is still older and still had injuries, but I
think he'll be more productive. And I think you actually
(31:03):
bring up a bigger point that like these thirty year
old wide receivers, there is a plethora of them, and
it's going to be very very tricky to navigate, especially
so this is more so dynasty redraft. You know, you
draft those guys, you hope for the best for this season.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Right, that's redraft, and that's.
Speaker 3 (31:21):
The great news. You there's no doubts.
Speaker 1 (31:23):
If Cooper Cob has an awesome year and he falls
off a clip next to your in redraft, you don't care. Yeah,
people were scared of his age and you got the
discount because of it. I think he's actually discounted in
redraft for sure, yeah, one hundred percent.
Speaker 2 (31:35):
But I mean you've got you know, there's a long list,
Davante Adams, Mike Evans, Cooper Cub, Calvin Ridley, like all
these guys that are.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Obviously not expecting the level production Cooper Cup. But it's like,
what do you do with Dha He's not useless.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
I mean, DeVante Adams is definitely up there. So it's
like in Dynasty specifically, you brought up the point of
being early. I think in this I don't typically give
this advice. Typically I agree with you, you want to
be early. But with the guys that I listed, the
DeVante Adams, the Mike Evans, heck, even Cooper Cup, I'll
put in that category. Like the d Hop I don't
(32:09):
think he goes in that category. Calvin Ridley's in that category.
For me, those guys, I don't know that I want
to be early on because they haven't shown signs of
like significantly slowing down. So I might just ride it
to the wheels fall up, especially if I'm a contender. Like,
what are you gonna get for a DeVante Adams in
a diynasty league right now?
Speaker 1 (32:26):
Oh? You know he's retiring on your roster. You're getting
an early second at best. Now, if you listen, if
you can get a first for any of those players,
you can get a twenty five first, especially after this
week of college football? Dealan, would you be able to
say no to a twenty five first for any take
d hop out of it. Calvin Ridley, Mike Evans, Davante Adams,
Cooper Cup not even a contender. Bro, If you're in
either position, if you can get a first for any
(32:47):
of those players, are you taking it?
Speaker 2 (32:50):
So there's only two wide receivers that I would be
okay with replacing those guys with on my team for
sure right now. Three Well, if Travis Hunter plays wide receiver,
there's three you talk about, like from the draft, I'm
talking about in the twenty five first. Yeah, I'm talking
about Tech McMillan Luther Burden and then Travis Hunter. If
those three guys, if I have a shot at them,
(33:10):
and I know it, sure, But otherwise I'm going for
the championship.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Bro Like I just I don't.
Speaker 3 (33:15):
That's how you play every years.
Speaker 1 (33:17):
And you can't.
Speaker 2 (33:17):
You're not getting in early first. If it's projected to
be early, you're not getting in early first for DeVante
Adams or any of those guys. It's more so my point.
Speaker 1 (33:24):
So it's in me.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
You just ride it to the wheels fall off on me.
You just keep on pushing and keep on trucking. And
I don't think I don't think I would get rid
of them if I'm a contender, not.
Speaker 1 (33:33):
Even for late first. Well, contender is the key piece there,
and that's a compelling case. But in either in either way,
we both agree Cooper Cup's gonna start off the season
hot and he gives you a lot of options with
what you want to do with him.
Speaker 3 (33:44):
Bye Week four.
Speaker 1 (33:45):
I just I'm personally, I'm I'm ready to move on.
Speaking of moving on, Dylan running backs, talk to me,
who do you have at the rolling back position?
Speaker 2 (33:53):
This is a guy and now I sound like Collinsworth.
Speaker 1 (33:56):
This is a guy.
Speaker 3 (33:57):
Here's a guy, here's a great human.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
Chris Collins, incredible, incredible, the innocence on that guy, and
just he's an incredible town. Anyways, this guy is someone
that I mean from day one on this pod, from
day one since I've played Dynasty. He was one of
the gold mines that I found in Dynasty Football and
First Draft.
Speaker 1 (34:18):
He's an O G my guy.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
That's he's also a little goofy. Did you see this
is Fromondre Stevensmondre Stevenson. By the way, did you see
his interview?
Speaker 1 (34:28):
I just see I love like we had this beautiful
like build up and we're professional Stevenson.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
No, did you see his interview when they asked him
about they were trying to ask him about the Matthew
Judon trade and they asked him like they the announcer
asked it pretty vaguely and asked about how do you
feel about him moving on or something like that, and
Remandre thought he was talking about Bill Belichick, and so
he responded talking about Belichick.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
Fair. No, I'm not, I'm on I'm on Remandre's side
of this. He needs not clarify at all who they
were talking about. And if you're Andre everyone is walking
out the door. Tom Brady's gone, Bill Belichick's gone. Jud
I don't even know to need you to specify, mister reporter,
I need you to specify.
Speaker 2 (35:19):
Anyways, all that being said, my guy is going to
be ramondre Stevenson for this first quarter. And the reason
why is, I mean, Jacoby Brissett's named the starter. I
don't know what this offense is going to look like.
I have no idea, But what I do know is
they paid Ramandre and they trust Romandre, so I expect
all things to flow through Romandre. He is the only
(35:40):
consistent left in that offense from last offseason or last season.
Speaker 1 (35:45):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (35:45):
With Jacoby Brissette coming in. We know Jacoby Brissett's a
competent quarterback, and I think he'll get the ball to
the wide receivers, But I mean who, we don't even
know who the heck the wide receiver one is? Is
it Jalen Polk? Is it probably Pop Douglas? Is it Taekwonton?
Who's getting a lot hype? I don't know, But what
I do know is that Ramondre Stevenson is probably going
to get a ton of work right off the bat
(36:07):
in the season, whether it's catching the wall out of
the backfield from Jacoby Brissett, He's going to be running
the ball, and I just think in the first four
games of the season, while they figure out this offense,
I feel like there's going to be an extensive amount
of Ramondre Stevenson involved in that offense. And so for me,
I'm hanging on to him and I think you can
hang on to him all season. Most of the guys
(36:27):
that I have on my list right now are guys
that are going to start hot and I believe may
not sustain the high level of production but can still
be valuable assets on your team that I'm not trading away,
And specifically Ramondre Stevenson, I'm not trading especially with his
contract that he just got in Dynasty. I'm holding on
to Ramandre Stevenson.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
There love the take and I love the highlight. I
guess some questions and some qualifications, but you highlight a
tier of players, specifically running backs that I find Najie Harris,
DeAndre Swift, David Montgomery, Remandre Stephen Like these are guys
I'm like so stoked to have. Is my RB two
and Remandre might be the highest ceiling of those guys
(37:07):
I mentioned. So, because we're in the season of redraftil,
would you mind ranking I know there's four there, but
where are you taking Remandre over the other? The three
other guys I just mentioned you can throw in there too.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
Yeah, say to you, said David Montgomery, Swift, James Connor, Harris,
Naji Harris. Yes, I'm taking Romondre to me, Remandre has
top five upside, Like he does have top five upside,
And I think.
Speaker 1 (37:33):
If on the Patriots this season.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Volume from volume alone, like yeah, we saw a shot. Yeah,
Like I think they're the offense. Is he Like I said,
he's the only consistent in the offense, the only proven
producer in that offense. So I think he can get
the work to be a He has top five upside.
That's not me saying he's going to be top five.
I'm saying that's his ceiling, and I think his floor
(37:58):
at very worse. You mentioned him in the RB two category.
Is as an RB two, a mid range RB.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
Two is like his floor if he's healthy.
Speaker 1 (38:07):
I agree with you from a target perspective. I actually
loved him last season. I was just wrong because of injury.
You can't forget that, but I agree, I think the
dump offs will be there. I think it's very Rashaw White,
and Rimandre arguably is more dynamic with the ball in
his hands than Rashad White is. So there's there's plenty
of upside there. But I think it's gonna be a
tough start with Jacoby Rissette. I'm just worried that when
(38:28):
your offense is bad as a whole, it's hard to
be fantasy elephant. And while we you know, the Buccaneers
were still winning games last year, and so that's my
concern with the Patriots. It's like at some point with
these losing teams, I tend to avoid players there. But
I don't have much to add. I'm a Romandre fan
as well. I like the contract, and yeah, whether it's
Jacoby or whether it's Drake May, that offensive line has
a lot of growing to do, so the checkdowns will
(38:50):
certainly be there.
Speaker 2 (38:51):
So yeah, we're well, just last thing on Remandre. Two
seasons ago, the Patriots were still a disaster. Rimandre was
a top eight back. He finished to seven, and so
that's where I'm saying, you will buoy him.
Speaker 3 (39:05):
To guy for you, that's a great point I had.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
It's hard to remember that Ramandre was like a high,
highly drafted dynasty pack like it was someone guy possible
top twelve, like he was right there. Gosh, running backs
just turn over so quickly. Well, can we move on
or like? Because I just love the take, Like I
really don't disagree with you. Yeah, listen, I'm I'm the
biggest hater of this guy. I have been historically a
(39:31):
hater of this player. But with the way the depth
chart is working out, give me all of the Josh
Jacobs you can for the first I'm not gonna say
the first four weeks. I'm gonna say the first eight.
I know it's cheating, but Q one, I expect Josh
Jacobs to absolutely feast. Here's the here's the caveat though.
You need to sell him after week eight. You absolutely
(39:53):
need to sell him after week eight because the reason
I was out is still there lurking in the shadows.
Josh Jacobs has a very strange contract with the Green
Bay Packers. Essentially, he has no guaranteed money after this year.
It's a forty something million dollar contract over I think
three years, but Homie is not guaranteed anything after this season,
(40:16):
So that's red flag number one, Red flag number two.
Matt Lafleur historically has always believed.
Speaker 3 (40:21):
In a committee.
Speaker 1 (40:22):
If you have been an Aaron Jones fan for a
long period of time, you know this. It's been frustrating.
Jamal Williams was good when he was there before he
went to Detroit, and then was really good at Detroit.
But Aaron Jones was always sharing backfield work. It's always
been the case. But here's the problem. They got no
one to share with. Emmanuel Wilson is one of the
top added players on sleeper right now because aj Dillon
went to IR season ending IR. Mind you and Marshaw Lloyd,
(40:45):
who avoided IR, which is excellent news. Marshon Lloyd was
the reason I was out on Josh Jacobs this season.
I think Josh Marshall Lloyd is a talented back. I
think he will eat into Josh Jacobs's workload, and then
Jacobs is twenty six with the contract I just described, like, Okay,
this is dynasty fools goal, Let's move on. However, Marshall
Lloyd almost went on IR to start the season. Emmanuel
(41:07):
Wilson can certainly spell Josh Jacobs, but what we know
about Josh Jacobs more than anything is he can handle
a crazy workload, and so I think it's going to
be an electric start of the year. This is the
type of year where it's gonna be Josh Jacobs is
gonna be like the RB three through eight weeks and
the RB twenty eight over the last eight and so
I am all in this season. I think people it's
(41:28):
name brand, it's someone still perceived to be in their prime.
I think if you're a win now team, you should
still sell him after week eight because when Marshaon Lloyd
gets healthy, Emmanuel Wilson finds his legs, heck, they may
sign someone. Matt Lafour is gonna eventually want to go
to a committee over the course of the season, that's
how he likes to do it. But this is an
incredible offense, and so in redraft I would draft Jacobs.
(41:50):
I'm still trading a week six like I'll have an
alert or a reminder set in my phone. Because the
other thing we have to remember is Josh Jacobs. Last
year he broke down. Now I think he's coming into
the season a lot more healthy. And also he hated
the Raiders at the end. He was so done. Yes, Like,
I think he's excited to be on Green Bay. This
is a really good offense. They're going to be competing
for playoffs and things of that nature. I love Josh
(42:12):
Jacobs to start the year. He can catch the ball well,
he can run the ball well. He's connected to a
great offense. But he's not an electric back. He's not
someone that can be efficient if it becomes a work,
you know, a time share. So as soon as that
becomes a threat, I'm moving on. But until you know
it's going to become a timeshare eventually, but you got
probably eight weeks of cushion before it happens, So enjoy
(42:33):
Josh Jacobs for the first four weeks. Smash start.
Speaker 2 (42:36):
Yeah, I mean, I I agree that he's gonna have
a hot start, but I disagree with the cell. I
think I'm holding on to Josh Jacobs. Like his contract
I understand in Dynasty specifically gets a little funky after
this year is a very is basically like a one
year deal. But I mean, dude, this is the best
(42:57):
offense that Josh Jacobs has played in you. He was
a high producer in Vegas and that was a garbage
offense and the reason why he was a high producer.
You know what, I don't want to hear this coming
from someone that's boasting on Saquon Barkley. Okay, I just
turned it up, and I don't want to hear because listen,
Saquon Barkley, we talked about this already, all right, we
(43:18):
talked about it. He was a ball you running back.
The only reason that he produced top five numbers was
because of volume. His efficiency is not great. He was
the only tool.
Speaker 1 (43:28):
No, no, he was the only piece in the New New
York offense. We know this.
Speaker 2 (43:32):
The Giants ran everything through Saquon Barkley. If they wanted
to run the ball, catch the ball, throw the ball.
I'm sure they would have probably let him kick the
ball if he would have, if he would have asked.
He was everything in New York, and then he goes
to Philly where we're expecting him to be this uber
efficient guy because of all the weapons that they have there. Anyways,
this is not a Saquon Barkley take. This is a
Josh Jacobs take. No I say disrespect that. No, I
(43:58):
say all that. I say all that because I want
to justify Josh Jacobs. We're putting we're expecting this man
to work wonders. Right, you're saying, Oh, he can't be
good because he's not going to get the volume. Okay,
he's in the best offense that he's ever been in
with Jordan Love and co. And there's gonna be plenty
of scoring opportunities. And I believe in Josh Jacobs is
a quality running back who we got to remember was
(44:20):
a first round Was he first round running back?
Speaker 1 (44:23):
Josh? It was the first running back taken in his class.
Why can I not reader that hard perceived and running back? Ye,
I'm pretty sure he was. Like, man, I'm pretty sure
that that was the groud.
Speaker 2 (44:33):
I'm not, Yeah, it was. Anyways, he was an earlier
he was at least second round. I know for sure
he was an earlier back. The guy is talented. I'm
betting on Josh Jacobs's talent. He's only you said twenty
six years old. He's only twenty six years old. I mean,
think of what we got from older running backs like
James Connor at twenty six years old. I didn't you
(44:55):
notice I didn't say it, Christian McCaffrey.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
But like, that's a.
Speaker 3 (44:58):
Great comp Actually, that is a great comp argument.
Speaker 1 (45:00):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (45:01):
It's someone that I think he's going to get decent
amount of work you just talked about. He doesn't have
anyone behind him, and that's not going to change. Sure
they can draft someone next year and replace him, but
for this year, if I'm a contender, I'm riding Josh
Jacobs all the way through the end of the season,
especially redraft. I'm not trading him. I'm keeping the Josh
Jacobs train going.
Speaker 3 (45:18):
That's that's fine.
Speaker 1 (45:19):
If you're a believer. I've never been a believer. I'm
a believer in the first eight weeks guaranteed. I think
if anytime you can get a first for a running
back who's over the age of twenty five and not
Hall of Fame caliber talent, which Josh Jacobs is not,
let me be clear first, Yeah, I think after the
first eight weeks, once again, we got to remember the
psychology we're both going to be in once week eight comes.
Speaker 3 (45:40):
Run.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
If you and I are are you know seven and two,
six and three, you know whatever? You know six and two,
seven and one, something like that, Like, if we're a
winning team and we're on the cusp of playoffs and
we have a running back who's been incredibly productive on
a on a losing team or a mediocre team, or heck,
even another winning team. I'm always looking to add running
backs for the playoff push because that trade deadline comes
(46:02):
up quickly, and once you're in playoffs, you want to
be able to really just you're willing to burn through
all the capital you have to go over the top.
And I just think Josh Jacobs will have a disappointing
especially compared to his first eight weeks, a disappointing last
eight weeks with Marshall Lloyd healthy and the volume going away.
But we are not disagreeing at all that the volume
is going to totally be there specifically for the first
(46:23):
four week four weeks, I believe for even longer. I'm
just looking to move on because the reality is you
brought up Saquon Barkley. Saquon Barkley is special. His three
point five a carry and Josh Jacobs three point five
a carry are not the same thing. Saquon Barkley's making
four people miss, you know, spinning to the side, jumping
over someone to get back to the line of scrimmage,
then juking someone else to get to the three point five.
Speaker 3 (46:42):
Josh Jacobs has.
Speaker 1 (46:43):
Got a tube of playing in the background as he
you know, trucks a linebacker to fall forward at the
line of scrimmage. Okay, it's not the same thing. Now,
Josh Jacobs is a good back, He's not great. Maybe
I've been a hater for too long, but in either case,
we're both in on the first four weeks. Agreed, Yes, agreed,
I'm saying you're saying, hold, yes, we'll find out who wins.
(47:03):
We're gonna find out who our tight end and our
quarterback is right after this. We're gonna take a break
and we'll join you right after Welcome back in, Dylan.
You know I started off the show so angsty about
Jamar Chase. I really want to say, like.
Speaker 3 (47:21):
Dude, I am so excited for football to be here.
It has been a long offseason, like normally out of
giving a species. Finally here Week one is upon us.
What you know, what storylines, what narratives are next? Like,
there's so many games I'm excited to watch. You is
there one that comes to mind for you before we
jump into our tight end and our quarterback for kind
of Q one?
Speaker 2 (47:42):
Man, I know this is gonna sound cliche, but it's
got to be the Thursday night game. I mean, lamon
Jesus kicking off the season, you know how, Like it's
like playoff football right off the bat, and it's just
gonna be fantastic. Like it's too well coached teams, too
fantasy low teams. Yeah, that we all want to watch
(48:02):
and it's gonna be fantastic. It's like I think the
NFL absolutely nailed it with kicking off the season with
that game.
Speaker 1 (48:08):
It's gonna be great. I love that answer. If I
had more pieces of both offenses, I'd be more excited.
But I think because of my so I have, I
have a lot of Packers players in a lot of places.
But also I'm most excited about Eagles Green Bay because
I mean, Christian Watson's back on a roster, Marshall Lloyd,
who I just talked about, Jacobs obviously, Jordan Love, and
(48:29):
then on the Eagles, DeVante Smith's Saquon Barkley, like the
my guys all, oh yeah no, but like just for me,
but I just showed shares of my guys right, Like
the big thing for me though, is we've never really
gotten that Friday treat, Like that's so special for me.
I know, like we get Thursday Friday college football, then
the NFL kickoff. Oh well, let me tell you how
(48:51):
stoked my wife is about that. Oh bro, so dude,
I'm way ahead of you. I literally like is labored.
I was like, babe, do you want to go shop anywhere? Today?
We went out right, dude, a thousand.
Speaker 3 (49:05):
I literally I was like, hey, I'm just really trying
to fill your take up.
Speaker 1 (49:07):
She goes, that's so sweet, baby, I said, no, no, no, no,
just keep in mind just because it's going to be bankrupt,
like the I owe you like it is in two weeks,
You're going to be like, I am literally done with you,
Like yeah, because the obsession is here. What a week?
Speaker 2 (49:22):
I mean, we get it literally Thursday, Friday, College Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
Speaker 1 (49:26):
Oh what a week? What a week. Oh, by the way,
my anniversaries this weekend. That was a terrible decision on
your part to get married on an NFL opening weekend.
Oh boy, yeah, well a.
Speaker 2 (49:38):
Lot of I'll be at dinner for the Sunday night game.
Speaker 1 (49:41):
So well, speaking of speaking of apologizing and disappointment, I'm
gonna go first on this one. The tight end I
want to bring up it's Kyle Pitts, man, it's a
great start, Like it's the reality is, if you have
played fantasy, even casually, like if you've if this is
your first league ever, you've probably seen a meme about
(50:04):
Kyle Pitts disappointing people in fantasy. Like when Kyle Pitts
was taken in your redraft league and this is your
first ever year playing, the chat went off like, oh
Kyle Pitts, Like it has been an absolute dramatic, super
sad like the last two years. Last year especially was
just abysmal and people have lost all hope. And I'll
(50:26):
be honest, Dillan, I think after week four, through the
first four weeks, I think they're gonna lose hope even further.
And so my advice this is wild by him. After
week four, I'm projecting Kyle Pitts gets off to a
really tough start. But I'm a believer for this season.
I want to remind people TJ. Howkinson when he was
(50:47):
traded to the Vikings mid season and week eight, it
was a slower start to get on the same page
with Kirk Cousins, but then he had tight end eight
tight end nine tight end, six tight end, one all
to finish the year. Obviously, Kyle Pitts has had a
whole offseason with Kirk Cousins. But really what I'm concerned
(51:08):
about is here's his first four weeks Pittsburgh. That's a
great defense. I don't care. Like the Pittsburgh game was
gonna be thirteen to seven Pittsburgh win. Like that's what
I believe because it's also a new offense. And keep
in mind, when Tom Brady moved teams, all right, veteran
QB going to a win now team, he lost his opener,
I believe, to New Orleans right like it didn't look
good for the Buccaneers when they went on to win
(51:29):
a Super Bowl that year. Same thing with Matt Safford
on the Rams. It wasn't electric right away like these
veteran I don't want to bring up Russell Wilson on
the Broncos, but you know or you know Aaron Rodgers
on the Jets. But it takes some time for these
offenses to really click in real time because offseason raport
is one thing, in game repport obviously is another. So Pittsburgh, Philadelphia,
(51:50):
Kansas City, New Orleans, I think Philadelphia bad secondary. But
I think Drake London's gonna be fine in all those games.
I think Kyle Pitts is gonna be disappointing. And people
who have him, they've waited all season. This was the
year of Kyle Pitts. They will be desperate to move on.
Oh my gosh, they will be so done, they will
be so out. And he's saying, yeah, you're at your
(52:11):
wits end with Kyle Pitts. If you've had it, like
you were excited when Kirk Cousins was signed. But if
he doesn't start Week one with at least fifteen points,
probably at least ten, you know, in a tight end premium,
at least fifteen, for sure, you're like, I'm out, I'm done,
I'm sick of this. I'm not getting stuck with the
next Eric Ebron. But I truly, truly believe this is
Kyle Pits year. And if you wait down the stretch,
(52:32):
it gets much better. In the schedule they play Carolina twice.
It's gonna be good. And so I'm all in on
Kyle Pitts. After Week four, I think it's a sneaky
purchase you can get at a discount, but I'm bet
and listen, I could be wrong and he starts hot
and you're happy either way.
Speaker 3 (52:47):
In either case.
Speaker 1 (52:48):
My point is, believe in Kyle Pitts season long because
him and Kirk Cousins getting on the same page.
Speaker 3 (52:54):
It just takes a little bit longer, and so be
patient or be opportunistic.
Speaker 2 (52:59):
Man, You bringing up Kyle Pitts is kind of like
fantasy football taboo, Like you just should not do it
at this point, dangerous your flag in any direction. I mean,
I'm listening to you and like I agree, like after
week four, sure by him, but like I kind of
want to be in on him now.
Speaker 1 (53:23):
This is a dangerous place for us as a show.
Speaker 3 (53:26):
I was really hoping like normally do and it's Kyle Pitts.
Did they talk about the third rail of politics?
Speaker 1 (53:34):
Right? Like there's these topics that no candidate really wants
to have a policy debate on.
Speaker 3 (53:38):
It's like whatever the voters designed, It's like medicare some
other Yes, Kyle Pitts. Is that for fantasy? Like you
should stay away from him, because.
Speaker 2 (53:47):
If you bring up Kyle Pitts at a fantasy rally,
you're you're You're not gonna You're gonna boot off the stage.
Speaker 1 (53:52):
You're appealing to a very small fanatic few who are
not yet anyway, But you're with that.
Speaker 2 (54:00):
Yeah, with that, I mean, I think the quarterback change
is huge.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
I think.
Speaker 2 (54:09):
The problem is with Kyle Pitts is the price, because
I don't think it's fallen enough to justify where he
actually is right now, and so you're still gonna have
to overpay if you don't already have him. If you
already have him and you held onto this, I mean,
prayers up for you, buddy. I'm right there with you,
because I hope, I hope, I really hope you do
not sell. I mean, even if you get, just even
(54:30):
if the only four games you get are the first
four games of the season, you hold on to him.
They brought in Raheem Morris, which is a Sean McVay offense,
and it'll look different. It's gonna have a lot cleaner
look than Here's the problem. And I've said this before
about the Patriots offense, about other offenses that just the
(54:51):
Titans offense that just have a stigma that like the
way they were is the way that they're always going
to be, and that's just not the case. Like you've
got to get over the Arthur Smith offense.
Speaker 1 (54:59):
It was a.
Speaker 2 (55:00):
Terrible couple of years last year especially of just like
what the heck, why isn't Vijeon getting all the carries?
What's going on at quarterback? All these all these things,
It's going to be a better offense. And so with that,
with Kirk Cousins at the helm, I think Kyle Pitts,
you have to be somewhat more intrigued by Kyle Pitts
if you believed in him as a prospect, if you
(55:20):
believe in him back in the day when people had
him as the tight end one in dynasty, you have
to be somewhat intrigued by this new offense, by Kirk
Cousins being there, by all of the stuff going on.
So all that to say, I agree with you kind of,
I'm more so I think I'm in now on Kyle Pitts.
(55:40):
If you don't have to pay the tight end, he
shouldn't be taken as a tight end like the top
three tight ends.
Speaker 1 (55:46):
No. Well, here's my point, man, Like I think if
he starts off slow at week four, his price will
have dropped so low where he will be attractive to
go get you know what I'm saying, like, because I
think I think the top tight ends right now or
Sam Laporta, Dalton Kin k Trey McBride, like those three
are all ringked tip. Give me Kyle Pitts long term
(56:09):
over certainly McBride and you could make a case against
the other two because I mean Laporta especially. We gotta
remember Travis Kelcey didn't break out until year age twenty
five to twenty six. Kyle Pitts is gonna be twenty
four this year, and so well, that's another that's hold on.
Speaker 2 (56:23):
That's another that's a good point because tight ends are
typically late to break out. Everyone just had this unrettle
expectation for Kyle Pitts.
Speaker 3 (56:30):
He had a thousand yard season his rookie year.
Speaker 1 (56:33):
It looked like all we need is touchdowns. I've already
seen enough from Kyle Pitts to say this is a
quarterback issue. And I'll say this in Tyler. I believe
Kyle Pitts hasn't had a Kyle Pitts issue. Maybe he
struggled with injury. I believe he's had a quarterback in
an offensive coordinator issue, full stop. Yeah, Frank, I agree
with that. I would blame the Falcons GM because it's
not like Arthur Smith didn't try to draft a QB.
(56:54):
Maybe you know what I mean, Maybe ours has been
waiting on a QB this whole time.
Speaker 3 (56:57):
Who knows.
Speaker 1 (56:57):
I'm hoping for Pickens. I'm trying to hype Arthur's reality.
It's good. But yeah, I'm.
Speaker 2 (57:04):
Question for you, question for you real quick, so right
now and keep trade cut. Brock Bowers is the tight
end four?
Speaker 1 (57:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (57:10):
Over Kyle Pitts at tight end five?
Speaker 1 (57:13):
Or are you taking long term.
Speaker 3 (57:14):
Kyle Pitts Kyle pit Like I don't.
Speaker 1 (57:17):
Brock Bowers is an unbelievable prospect, don't get me wrong.
And I do think DeVante Adams will leave in the
next two years, and so there's opportunity there. But who's
throwing him the ball? I want the tight end that's
going to produce quicker and I think Kyle Pitts has
already kind of paid his dues and suffered. Also, brock
Bower is going to fall off in value into I'll
buy brock Bowers a lot. Probably over the next offseason.
People will be out.
Speaker 3 (57:37):
On brock Powers.
Speaker 1 (57:38):
I'm not going to buy I think I've mentioned this
before on the show. It's called pro forma in real estate,
specifically commercial, where you project the increased income growth of
a property once it's been renovated. I'm never going to
pay the price that says, oh, hey, I'm I believe
this property will appreciate in value, but you haven't done
the work to do it. I never buy on pro forma,
it's BS. I buy on what the actual production is.
(58:01):
And Kyle Pitts, I think by the end of the
season will have the production that you're so satisfied with.
I think the breakout will be there. I just don't
think it will happen early on. I think you have
to be patient through the first four weeks because I
do think it will be rough growing because those first
four games, three of the four oh defenses, I don't
want to see Kansas City great defense, Pittsburgh awesome defense,
and New Orleans always good against the past. So in fact,
(58:23):
New Orleans probably the defense the only thing they have
going for him within a sound right now. So yeah,
it's just a reminder you've already held fast. If you
own him, hold fast a little bit longer, and if
you don't have maybe go steal them boy.
Speaker 2 (58:35):
All right, well, I'll go ahead and jump in here
with my tight end, because I mean enough of the
Kyle Pits he took up. I mean that's that is
the epitome of Kyle Pits taking a way too much time,
taking way too much time to get to it at
actual point. My tight end is it's a Homer pick
for sure, and I think he's going to smash with
just the opportunity that's in this offense because of the
(58:57):
lack of weapons, and it's it's Jake Ferguson. Oh, if
you look at if you look at Dallas CD, I
mean he sat out until he got his contract. I
don't expect him to start off extremely slow. Him and
Dak already have rapport. They know how to play together.
Brandon Cooks is battling an injury. Who the heck else
(59:18):
is going to catch the ball in Dallas? I mean,
I know we've got Jalen Tolbert, and if you can
get some Jalen Tolbert's shares, sure, hold on to some
Jalen Tolbert shares. We've got the the I can't even
Ryan Ryan Floor florian a or something like that.
Speaker 3 (59:35):
Oh, the rookie, the rookie a sixth round pick.
Speaker 2 (59:39):
Yeah, he looks like a pretty good prospect, but I
don't expect him to be great.
Speaker 1 (59:42):
Off the bat.
Speaker 3 (59:43):
Probably it's spelled Flora.
Speaker 1 (59:45):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (59:47):
Anyways, my point is none of those guys are great
second options aside from Brandon Cooks. If Brandon Cooks is healthy,
Jake Ferguson is going to feast. We know what Jake
Ferguson can do, and we know that Dak loves him.
Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
Tight end.
Speaker 2 (01:00:00):
Jake Ferguson is a stud. I think he's being extremely
undervalued right now. He's being completely stuffed on because he's
not a fancy name like a Kyle Pitts or Sam
Laporto or Dalton kin Kid or Trey McBride. But the
reality is he can produce just as much as all
those guys. And that's the thing about the tight end
position is if you can find that goal mine of
getting Jake Ferguson later in your draft, like I'm talking,
(01:00:24):
you can get him in the tenth, eleven to twelve
round of your leagues and start drafting you from Jake
Ferguson as you're tight end. I mean, the dude is
the second option until Brandon Cooks is healthy.
Speaker 1 (01:00:35):
And even then, like you think.
Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
About how offenses operate and how comfortable quarterbacks get in
their rhythms and their flows. If Brandon Cooks misses time,
there's a strong chance that Jake Ferguson even throughout the
duration of the season, not just the first four games.
I'll keep it to the first four games. The first
four games, I think Jake Ferguson will be number two
in targets in that offense easily. And that's especially if
Brandon cook Even if Brandon Cooks comes back, I think
(01:00:58):
he'll be the second and targets in that offense. So,
I mean, Jake Ferguson to me, seems like a steal
and he seems like a no brainer.
Speaker 1 (01:01:05):
And I'm a Jake Ferguson the first quarter. I moved
on from Mark Andrews because I have Ferguson. I'm a believer.
He had one hundred and two targets last season. He
had seventy one receptions seven hundred and you know, seven hundred.
Speaker 3 (01:01:17):
And sixty yards.
Speaker 1 (01:01:18):
Yeah, Like, here's the deal. The difference between him and
Samuel Porter was touchdowns. Sam Laport had seventy eight receptions
seven hundred something yards, and ten touchdowns first and had five.
I think Dak is gonna have to move off of
CD so much in the red zone. Jake Ferguson could
easily finish with ten twelve touchdowns on the year and
be a Jake Ferguson is a dark horse to finishes
(01:01:38):
the tight end one. Overall, I love that take. I
hate that we're agreeing so much. That's a great value.
And no, I'm not trading him to anyone in the league.
Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
Yeah, you got to remember, you got to remember who
got Dalton Schultz paid. Yeah, it was Dak Prescott. It
was Dak Prescott, Dalton Schultz. And don't don't get me wrong,
Dalton Schultz is a fine tight end. But he's not
Mark Andrews. He's not eight upper echelon tight end. And
yet he got another contract and was treated like a
top five, top six ish option.
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
I brought up well, I brought up Kyle Pitts, but
you brought up brock Bauers tight end four right now,
right on, keep trade cut. If you could trade brock
Bowers for Jake Ferguson and a first right now, would
you do it? Any team built? Oh? Yeah, by the way,
Jake Ferguson's only twenty five years old, and last year,
I would say, treat it like his rookie year was
(01:02:26):
his first chance to be the starter, got one hundred
target said an unbelievable breakout first year. So I would
do that in a heartbeat because.
Speaker 2 (01:02:34):
I'm not And also just the way that I play
fantasy like tight end unless it's a tight End premium,
I may think about that one, but not really if
I'm getting a first with it, I think so long to.
Speaker 1 (01:02:45):
Break out, I don't.
Speaker 3 (01:02:46):
I'm so yeah, I'm in on Ferguson. I love the take.
Speaker 1 (01:02:50):
Let's stop talking about tight ends so much that Yeah,
with talk to me about your QB.
Speaker 2 (01:02:55):
Dylan another Homer pick because this guy's from Dallas. I'm
going Kyler Murray here, baby, Kyler Murray is going to bounce. No,
I'm going Kyler Murray. I mean, you look at the
way that so he didn't play the first half of
last season obviously coming off that acl tear, but you
(01:03:15):
look at how he looked coming back, and I mean,
the dude got right back in rhythm. It looks like
they held him out just to right him. Ount he
was able to get back that second half. He had
three top fifteen finishes at the end of last season,
and I mean outside of that, he was still a
QB two at worst. You know, just ends and outs
of the offense. And mind you, he was throwing the
(01:03:36):
ball to Trey McBride. End of list. Greg George like
and Greg you don't get me wrong, Greg Deorch. I
like Greg Dorsche, but but he's no world beater.
Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
Okay, Like he doesn't have very many good luck telling Twitter.
Twitter loves some Greg Dorge.
Speaker 2 (01:03:53):
Yeah, doorche lands all over my timeline. But when it
comes to the Cardinals offense, I think this year it's
way better. It's you've got Marvin Harrison Junior. We all
know Marvin Harrison Junior. I mean that guy's going in
my opinion, way too early in redraft leagues. Of like
he's going back in the first round in single QB leagues.
(01:04:14):
I don't advise that. But you've got Marvin Harrison Junior.
He's talented. Trey McBride, Greg George, I expect Michael Wilson.
I know people laugh at me when I talk about
Michael Wilson. I think he's going to take a step
forward this year and actually be a viable option, and
do not be surprised if he rivals I'm not going
to say passes, but rivals Marvin Harrison Junior and targets.
(01:04:35):
I said it, I said it there. I said it
in the offense because he's been in the offense. He
knows the offense. He understands the offense, and he's played
with Kyler before. And I think Marvin Harrison Junior is
an incredible talent and he's gonna get fed. But I
think this is not a wide receiver take. This is
a Kyler Murray take. Kyler Murray is going to bro
I did my.
Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
I did my stats.
Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
I'm hoping to finish for the season.
Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
Starts have been a little bit slow this year. I'm
in on with Kyler Murray Marvin Harrison for fifteen hundred
receiving yards.
Speaker 4 (01:05:02):
I was like, uh, fifteen hundred, hold the mathemat I
mean sure that would be a record rookie season.
Speaker 1 (01:05:12):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (01:05:14):
I mean he's being drafted like that, so you better
hope he does that. Those of you that drafted him
in the first Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:05:19):
The target show is going to be significant.
Speaker 2 (01:05:20):
That's my only It will be significant. But I like
Michael Wilson. I like the surrounding pieces and Trey McBride
and Marvin Harrison Junior. But the missing piece to Kyler's
game that I think he gets back this season is
his rushing upside. Like he didn't do that a ton
coming back at the end of last season. I think
a lot of it was just skepticism around his knee
and maybe not trusting it a whole lot. But I
(01:05:41):
expect him to get back to that in the first
four weeks. I think he's going to absolutely smash and
remind people of why he was considered as a top
five dynasty quarterback before his injury and before a couple
of years of just you know, ambiguity and on that
team with that offense. And yeah, I mean for the
first four seas. To me, he's a smash. So if
you can, if you can get him, I think you
(01:06:04):
can draft him. Sixth seventh round is your QB. To me,
he's well worth it. You can you can let other
people take the Josh Allens, the the Jalen Anthony Richards,
Holmes Anthony Richards since earlier in the draft, and I
mean the reality is is Kyler Murray has that upside,
especially in the first four weeks, and I think he
can get you off to a hot start.
Speaker 1 (01:06:25):
In twenty twenty, which was only a sixteen game season,
he ran for eight hundred yards on the ground and
had eleven rushing touchdowns. Right, he also threw for thirty
nine hundred and seventy one yards basically basically through for
four thousand yards and a seventeen game season. That's he's
gonna throw it for four thousand yards. There's like four
(01:06:45):
players that can do that, and one of those guys
is Justin Fields, who's not the starter in Pittsburgh. Like
he's a special, special talent. He's still in his prime.
I'm with you. I'm all in on Kyler Murray. The
joke I made by Anthony Richson. I sniped Anthony richard
for me. I don't know if we were talked about this
in a re draft league. We played together one of
our oldest leagues, and I sniped him just to spite you,
and you just took Kyler Murray around later, and I
felt very stupid because I'm not nearly as in on
(01:07:07):
Anthony Richardson as you are.
Speaker 2 (01:07:10):
So I loved every second of it because now you've
hit me up multiple times at.
Speaker 1 (01:07:14):
All I've tried. I was just joking, man, did you
just straight up? You know? You know actually I let
you said with that, I'm gonna let you. You're forcing
me to root for Anthony. See what Spike gets you? Yeah,
never listen. Revenge or whatever they say like when you
when you seek out vengeance, you dig a create a
grave for two parties, yourself and someone else. Or it's
like drink bitterness is drinking poison expecting the other person
(01:07:37):
to die.
Speaker 2 (01:07:38):
I don't know which Star Wars you got those from,
but I don't think I've ever heard those.
Speaker 1 (01:07:41):
I think those are two very classic sayings that have
nothing to do with Star Wars. Geez man, geez culture
knowing the usual suspects. Yeah, you're not, bro.
Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
I don't watch movies anyways. Who's your quarterback? Maybe we
can get a little bit of disagreeing going on here.
Let me see what you got going on here?
Speaker 1 (01:08:02):
Your life decision is about a lack of culture. I
disagree with. But this guy, and this is shocking. I
have not talked about this guy at all this season.
Someone I've dissed this offseason. I've called him Derek Carr
with long hair. Trevor Lawrence, I believe can be a
post type sleeper, and the first four weeks of Trevor
(01:08:24):
Lawrence's season is unbelievable. I think part of the reason
I'm getting back on the train of Trevor Lawrence is
the price is finally agreeable for me in Dynasty to
go get him as a super super solid QB two
with QB one upside because he's now priced at he's
QB I think thirteen on keep trade cut, if not fourteen.
(01:08:44):
It kind of fluctuates around that line. Trevor Lawrence for
the first four week starts out Miami. That's gonna be
If Jacksonville is in the game, that is going to
be a barn burner. Miami's defense got worse, not better,
and their offense got really good. Then Cleveland that's a
tough defense, Buffalow who's has basically no one returning from
the defense. And then Houston. We know Houston can put
(01:09:04):
up points. Trevor Lawrence is in a division that I
think is going to be full of barn burners. I
think it's going to be a very very competitive year
in the AFC South in terms of just points scoring.
Trevor Lawrence has very good weapons. And the reason my
opinion changed ultimately is Brian Thomas Jr. I was worried
about his weapons. Christian Kirk, we know he saw it.
Evan Ingram we know is salwid. In fact, the reason
(01:09:25):
I chose Trevor Lawrence is I was researching Evan Ingram
as the Q one guy I wanted to bring up,
and I was like, oh, but then I realized I'm
not in on Evan Ingram, I'm in on Trevor Lawrence.
Travis CTN had an immense amount of goal line carries
last year. Trevor Lawrence just didn't hit on touchdowns. This
is someone who was a generational talent. Are we really
surprised if Trevor Lawrence throws for four thousand and thirty touchdowns?
(01:09:47):
I think we'd be like, oh, we always knew he
could do that. I think the first four weeks are
going to be electric, and the price is potentially has
never been lowered. Now, please don't hear what I'm not saying.
Guys like Jordan Love, I'm still taking over Kylin Murray,
still taken over him. But I'm trying to think like
there's still eight to ten QBS, I would take over him,
but can let me ask you.
Speaker 2 (01:10:07):
Let me ask you based off the keep trade cut,
who's around him?
Speaker 1 (01:10:10):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:10:10):
Yeah, Okay, so you said justin Herbert you're taking over him.
Speaker 1 (01:10:15):
Yeah. I'm still taking Herbert, I think, but for this season,
for this season it's a wash. I'd go Lawrence right
like in Redraft or you know, if I can get
something plus, I would definitely go Lawrence. But Herbert's I
mean Herbert's we've seen more, so we're talking Redraft. Okay,
So to go back to Dynasty, you can go back
to Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:10:33):
Okay, Dynasty. So Dynasty, are you taking Jaden Daniels over Lawrence?
Speaker 1 (01:10:38):
Oh? The rushing up side? You might be changing my
take in real time. I think if I'm a win
now team, I'm taking Lawrence right, there's less risk.
Speaker 2 (01:10:49):
I still think I lean Daniels there, okay, but Dak Prescott.
Speaker 3 (01:10:54):
In Dynasty, I'm taking Lawrence.
Speaker 1 (01:10:55):
Yeah, unless I'm unless I'm really definitely going Laurence there,
really over too.
Speaker 3 (01:11:02):
I've always been a to a hater.
Speaker 2 (01:11:03):
Come on, Jered Goff, You're probably taking Lawrence.
Speaker 1 (01:11:07):
No question, Yeah, no question. Now this season, Jered go
everyone's making a big deal about his own games and
dome games, like he's playing indoors a lot. But yeah,
Trevor Lawrence, for sure because the ceiling, it is the
ceiling still there doing for Trevor Lawrence to be a
top five DIA C QB.
Speaker 3 (01:11:22):
I believe. I don't know it's I don't know because
of the changs than but I think it's still there.
I really do.
Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
He's a pure pocket passer.
Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
No, he's not rushing upside. Told he does, but he
does not.
Speaker 1 (01:11:35):
He does not, He's not. I'm pulling up now. Put
Now we're arguing. Oh listen, we found it. We found
something we disagree on.
Speaker 2 (01:11:43):
But I don't think that Trevor Lawrence scrambles enough to
be called a scrambling quarterback. I think he runs just
as much as Patrick Mahomes. And people don't think Patrick
Mahomes is a scrambling quarterback.
Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
That's fair. I think that's fair to say.
Speaker 2 (01:11:57):
I don't think his rushing upside is significant, And like
Patrick Homes, you're not drafting him because of his rushing up.
Speaker 1 (01:12:02):
It's hugely around three hundred yards. But it's a sneaky
it's not nothing.
Speaker 2 (01:12:07):
I'm not saying it's not nothing, but I mean gives upside.
Speaker 1 (01:12:10):
Had five rushing touchdowns in uh in two, So that's
what I'm saying, Like, no, he scrambles, but yes.
Speaker 2 (01:12:16):
But to be top five though, you have to beat
out Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, I mean C. J.
Speaker 1 (01:12:22):
Stroud has proven to be a better I'm talking about dynasty.
I don't think you read draft like if he finishes
all these guys, like if.
Speaker 2 (01:12:29):
You finish the Mark Jackson's Talon Hurts. There's a lot
of guys out there, man Joe Burrow, who Joe Burrow
is at QB seven right now, Like.
Speaker 3 (01:12:38):
Yeah, I'm not taking I'm taking Joe Burrow over him
every time.
Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
I know.
Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
That's what I'm saying, though he has to take this
step forward that like the the the Jacksonville offense just
doesn't just doesn't do it for me. Like Christian Kirk,
Brian Thomas, I mean, Brian Thomas Junior could very well
be something, but.
Speaker 1 (01:12:59):
I don't know, I'm not I'm changing my take after
Week four trade Trevor Lawrence because people think he could
potentially see you know, you bring up those names of
like I wouldn't do it over rock Party Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:13:11):
It's the weapons, right, it's the weapons, and the weapons.
Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
Are good, but they're not great.
Speaker 1 (01:13:15):
I think that. I think there's a lot of good
not great here the more we talk about it. But
but seriously, he's gonna get off the hot start. I
think Trevor Lawrence could have a great year. I still
think there's upside for him in Dynasty if you want
to hang on to him. I think Trevor Lwrence could
have a good year. I think that's ultimately where for
the most confident plants planting my flag. I think there's
two outcomes. You can trade him. That's fine. If you
can upgrade to a party, which I believe is upgrade.
(01:13:37):
Some people wouldn't feel that's enough to.
Speaker 2 (01:13:38):
Right now you really would take Lawrence over.
Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
To Yeah, I'm not a tour believer at all. I
have never been talked about weapons. Is it the injury? Was?
Speaker 3 (01:13:48):
What's to his highest year end finish?
Speaker 1 (01:13:49):
Ever? I think it's right eight or nine?
Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
Okay, Lawrence has finished his eight two years ago.
Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
Lawrence doesn't have Tyreek kill Jalen Waddle.
Speaker 3 (01:14:00):
Right, but it took a dude. If you give, if
you get, don't care.
Speaker 1 (01:14:06):
But long term he does He's not gonna have it forever.
Jalen Watall struggles with an injury, and Tyreek Hill is
getting older and older. Tua is system supported and injury Browne.
Trevor Lawrence at least has a cannon, and if he
there's upside of Trevor, you give Trevor Lawrence, Jalen Wattle,
Tyreek Hill. He is a top five Dynasty QB, no question.
I believe that wholeheartedly. So that's where I'll end that take.
(01:14:29):
I'm in on Trevor Lawrence in Q one after Q two,
I have no idea what to do with him, I
will admit. I mean, the more we talk about it,
I'm like, eh, yeah, Derek carlong hair.
Speaker 3 (01:14:37):
But Derek Carr had some really good seasons.
Speaker 2 (01:14:38):
Okay, he is the definition of a QB two throughout
his career.
Speaker 1 (01:14:44):
Dylan, this has been a ton of fun. I'm so
excited for Week one of the NFL to get here.
Any final thoughts or encouragements just as everyone starts to
tilt and make really weird roster decisions right before the
season kicks off.
Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
No, I mean just dynasty advice of I mean, know
when it's time to call it a season, Start a
crew in twenty five picks and don't be behind the game, like,
don't be behind the ball when it comes to twenty
five players. Watch some college ball. It's exciting, it's electric.
Get your eyes on the prospects. Know what you're looking
for so that when it does come time because it
in evily does come, to pack it up and start
(01:15:20):
getting some picks. Know who you're going for and how
to rebuild your roster.
Speaker 1 (01:15:23):
Well said, remember week one is exciting. It is fools cold.
The data I mean, we're excited to do weekly projections
will be through you, you know, with you the whole season.
Week one is all I mean, Sammy Watkins, you know,
for years was always the best Week one performer and
you could never trust it long term. So just take
everything from week one with a great assault. It's exciting,
it's great. It doesn't mean it doesn't matter, but you
(01:15:43):
can't plant your flag entirely that it's going to project
out for the rest of the season. So we will
see Dylan the next time we join everyone, and hopefully
Thomas is back with us, and also Charles will be
visiting soon. We did reach out to him about this week,
but unfortunately due to his schedule, he was unable to attend.
I think it's really the fact that we share with him.
He's hoarding qbs and I won't overpay for one, so
he's just a little.
Speaker 3 (01:16:03):
Bit bitter at me.
Speaker 1 (01:16:04):
But sounds like Charles. That is a little bit like Charles.
But that's neither here nor there. But yeah, next time
we we we talk on this show, Dylan football will
have been played. We will be in the NFL season.
So coax has been the times to change. Okay, Okay,
