Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm all fantastic relationships. All Hollywood stories with love in
them are really built on one principle, and that's trust.
At the end of the of any chick flick movie,
it's usually some sort of rising action about a miscommunication
(00:23):
where someone is heading to the airport because they misunderstood
a text, an emails, saw someone in a room, and
trust has been broken this show not because we want to,
but because the NFL narratives have forced it. So is
all about relationships, and it's all about trust. Thomas, So
good to have you with me in studio. I just
(00:44):
want to get your immediate reaction to the reuniting of
Aaron Rodgers and DeVante Adams. Aaron Rodgers calling up the
only old flame he trusts take the Jets to the
next episode. I got Garrick Wilson. It's just not the
same babe, head to New York. You and me, we
have such rapport together. I know I know you know me,
(01:07):
and I know you Help me get out of New
York when I get out of New York. Help me
save my time in New York. Because it's looking like
pretty bleak for the Jets outside of the recent signing.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Oh yeah, I mean it's I'm not gonna lie, man,
there was so much build up to this, but it's exciting.
It is exciting. It's and you talk about old relationships,
you know, when you backslide into somebody you know, you know,
somebody that you used to date, you find a way
(01:40):
to like simmer up that old magic again. And it's
exciting and I know you but also familiar at the
same time.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
So you know you we know where this is.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
You know what, I know what you like. This is
how we do it, and it's just it's always a
good time. But like in this scenario, like I think
the only downfall is Garrett Wilson at this point, Like
I think we're all a little worried about Garrett Wilson
and if he can reach his potential having a target
(02:13):
hall like Devontae Adams, who's I mean, look, he might
be thirty two, but he's still probably a you know,
top three, four or five receiver. I don't know where
anybody wants to put him. But with Aaron Rodgers, he
could be number one again. I mean I can't, I
can't put it past him because he's done it before
with him, so I think that it's exciting for everyone involved.
(02:34):
I think Garrett Wilson will survive and he'll be serviceable
number two receiver, but he might not be the number
one we were looking for. But I think everybody gets
a mop up, every single body on the Jets office.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
I don't I'm not a doomsday or with this for
Garrett Wilson, you know, sticking with the the theme of
like ex is getting back together, the question is that
does does the dysfunction we saw in the last years
of Green Bay kind of return or is this, like,
is this a healthy good thing? I think when you
(03:06):
see how productive Alan Lazard was this last month. By
the way, the Money Night game was just unbelievable. I
don't know how to describe it any other way. That
was drama unfolding. It was so much fun to watch.
Alan Lazard was awesome, had one of his You know,
there was times in Alan Lazard's career where I thought
this guy's going to become a steady dynasty piece, But
(03:27):
it always seems like he can just do it in
short spurts. He can't ever sustain it. I think there's
enough targets to go around. I think DeVante Adams will
have equal to if not more targets than Garrett Wilson.
But now Garrett doesn't have to try to be on
the same page with Rogers every single play. You know,
Rogers can just throw to him when he's open and
he's not going to draw number one coverage. I mean,
this is awesome. You know, from a matchup standpoint, I
(03:48):
don't think the high end wide receiver one finishes. It
does kind of suck because Garret Wilson was starting to
cook the last two weeks over twenty fantasy points. It
was like finally beginning to happen. But you know what,
more the marrier to some extent, and for the Jets
not to not to get away from the fantasy fantasy
lines of it, the fantasy storylines for give me of
it too much, But the Jets had to do something.
(04:10):
They are they are a plane that is crashing and
everyone's about to get fired. So this has got to
work with Rogers. So you call who you know, you
call who you trust. Breese Hall really quickly does does this.
I think this positively affects Breese Hall right like, this
just makes the offense better as a whole, more scoring opportunities.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
I would agree with that man a more goal line
touches for him. He I mean, he lost the carry
to brailn Allen, but he had just broken a long run,
so I think he was winded and they were just
giving him a blow. But I he like his usage
was exactly what you want if you're a Breese haall owner.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
But it was good to see him break the big
plague into because he even a disappointing week prior.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
It was it was bad we missed him man, we
missed that Bree and that was good. That was really
good to watch, especially against buff A little defense that's
not great, but it's still tough. But to add to
your point, which was a great point about Garrett Wilson,
I think I just think it makes Breess Hall more
efficient if his touches are you know, take a hit
(05:15):
because of this and they're throwing the ball a little
bit more to get Davante what you know, they feel
like he deserves or whatever. I think that the efficiency
of Breese Hall will take a big jump, Like you'll
probably see more goal line opportunities. You'll probably see less
people stack in the box. Yeah, because they're gonna have
(05:36):
to watch out for DeVante and Gary Wilson, and it might,
like you said, open up more opportunities for Garrett Wilson.
And like you know, in in more high Femby, he.
Speaker 1 (05:47):
Was when he was getting down to the red zone,
he was getting double. They were shading safety to his side.
So you can't do that anymore. I mean the biggest
winner of this is Aaron Rodgers, and he becomes a
sneaky too, you know, Dynasty superflex. This could be a
hair maybe he could be the Joe Flacco of last year.
But I'm being quite being serious. Like you know, Aaron Rodgers,
we expect to be much much better than that he was.
(06:10):
He was on his way to his best game, you know,
well it was his best game I think in years
against Buffalo. He looked really productive. He looked crisp. With
Davante on the field, he needed another weapon. Mike Williams
really lost in that game. Mike Williams is getting shipped
out of town. So I think any targets that we're
gonna go to Mike Williams way, I think Allan Lazard
goes down to two or three targets a game and
DeVante just plugs in instantly, sticking with kind of free
(06:32):
agent news because this not free agents but trays in
the NFL, I should say, not an old relationship, but
I trust Amari Cooper to change teams mid season and
be a fantasy superstar more than any other wide receiver
to do it. Amari Cooper to the Bills. He did
this before came to the Dallas Cowboys, which, okay, quick side,
Now I have to I have to process this with you.
(06:54):
I am questioning my Cowboys fandom completely everything I like
genuine like I can deal with losing. I can deal
with embarrassing losses. That's fine. Jerry Jones got on a
radio show. Did you hear about this? He got on
a radio show and threatened to fire the hosts for
questioning him. Yeah, And I was just like, I don't
know if I can, Like, at what point can you
root like everything I love about the Cowboys? Like I
(07:18):
will support Jerry as an owner to some extent, but
that's just crossing a line, Like that's just like, hey,
I don't even like you. It makes me not like
any of this. I don't want you to succeed or
be rewarded for any of this. So just be being
deep in prayer for me, because I was. I hated
every second of that. I do not endorse it whatsoever.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
I think that that was a hard pillow swallow for
all of us. I mean, Jerry Jones has always spoken
his mind, but that was like, you can't infringe on
somebody's livelihood because they asked you a question.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
Bro doing their job as first of all, these are
reasonable questions you should answer. Like you're a nonprofit dude,
like you're an owner of an NFL franchise, Like you know,
it's it's a popular market. It's not a private thing
that you're like, hey, why did you guys break into
my house? Like we're not asking you about your private business,
We're asking you about your very public brand, about your
(08:08):
Like it wasn't even like when when there's those media
moments in the NFL, like I'm okay with the entertaining
like Zinger, Like when when mel Kiper got into it
with the Colts GM years ago, Like it's a famous
clip where it was like mel Kuiper's never never worked
on any NFL staff and I'm because no Kuiper started it,
you know what I mean. Like it was a great
(08:28):
like kind of back and forth. This was just awkward
This was just like, have you ever been to like
a friend's house and their parent was like correcting them
in front of you? You know what I mean? And
you are you like you went over to a friend's
house and like the family was fighting. You ever been
in one of those situations? Oh? Yes, that's how I felt,
That's how I felt like watching that interview was like,
this is this is really awkward. I don't I don't
(08:48):
like any of this, and it made me really disliked Jerry.
Not that I didn't already have issues, but thank you
for letting me event about it.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
You need you needed to let that out, and I did.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
I didn't receive it. Genuinely, dude, genuinely. Cowboys went for
life like I haven't. I haven't waivered for anything but
that I mean. So teams I can root for this
season include the Buffalo Bills because it's you know, they've
never won. And then Amari Cooper. I always loved how
he was on the Cowboys. He now joins the fold.
Immediate reactions for you, I'm a key on Coleman believer
(09:21):
in Truther, but it's not gonna be this year. I've
always thought that I like him long term Cooper. What
is he this year? How does this help Josh Allen.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Uh, I think it. You know, I gotta be honest.
I don't think Amari Cooper's gonna set the world on fire,
like when he went to Dallas. When he went to Dallas,
he just started lighting that special That was great. That
was great. That doesn't happen very often. I do believe
that they're gonna use him, But he's what he's gonna do,
in my opinion, is open up the offense for everybody.
(09:54):
Like you're talking about the key on Coleman's of the
World or whatever Kean Coleman is that he has always
his issue was he was raw and like could not
separate it as well. Right, So now I think you're
gonna get more one on one situations with him where
you could throw him a jump ball. They're gonna have
to They're gonna have to rotate towards Amari Cooper because
he's you know, I mean, the guys are all pro
(10:14):
the guy's a Pro Bowl caliber receiver, one of the
better receivers of the last decades. So we have to
take into consideration that it's gonna take time for him
to learn this offense. He may not come into it
and just go guns blazing like he did with the Cowboys.
It could be a situation where he's on the field,
he's just drawing coverage or you know, he is I
(10:37):
don't want to say a decoy, but that might be
his role to begin because it just really, it really
is that it really comes down to how fast he
can learn the offense and get on the same page
with Josh Allen. I think I would put him right
now as a low end wide receiver too, before we
see anything, just because I'm a little hesitant to just
(11:00):
buy in right away without saying, Okay, he might need
a week or two or a couple of weeks to
get acclimated and to get on the same page.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
I think you can have a rookie that needs to
be developed right and Dalton kin kid, I think is
clearly the guy they I mean, he always seems to
get the first pass, the first target. He's a great
slot tight end. But they didn't have a veteran wide
receiver that the safeties have to respect. And yeah, well,
and I think he on Coleman's great for a contested catch.
(11:30):
He's great for you know, they're drawn up a couple
deep shots for him, but he's a raw rookie and
a Joe Brady system. You know he's he's going to
need to develop it. I think Amari Cooper is great,
like you said, for the offense as a whole, because
I also think what you know. The position I think
will suffer the most is the running back position. There
are so many targets going to Ray Davis well James
(11:51):
Cook mostly, but I mean we saw it even with
Ray Davis, so we know that it's not just a
player dependent. Oh, James Cook can catch the ball. The
running backs are used to catch the ball a lot
in a Joe Brady offense, and I think that that's important,
but I think they were relying on that too much.
You can't have most of your big chunk patch plays
coming from you know, half back wheel routes and Dalton
kin Kaid is great in the intermediary, but like you said,
(12:13):
no one to stretch the defense, no one to threaten
the safeties like on a regular basis to create matchup issues.
So for fantasy ververses, I agree. I think it's a
low end wide receiver too, but I think it's such
an upgrade from the Cleveland Browns. If you have him,
it's it's such good news. It's like Ah brought the
fresh air. And I wouldn't be surprised if Cooper doesn't
go on some crazy I'm I'm not calling for this,
(12:34):
but if he goes on some crazy red zone efficiency
to end the season and is a league winner just
based on touchdowns. But that relationship is brand new, and
hopefully Josh Allen can can learn to trust him and
they can continue to you know, kind of like take
this offense to the next level because the Bills are
They've got one of the most talented units in the league.
It's always good to see when they're scoring points. We're
(12:56):
going to take a break and when we come back,
we have a quick quick episode to the fatigue of
the season is upon us, and Thomas and I are
just trying to get through, you know, week by week
with our teams because it has been an uncharacteristically difficult year,
not just with injuries but also with who you can trust.
And so we have picked several players we believe we
can trust in for the rest of the season. We'll
(13:17):
tell you all about them right after this welcome back
in Thomas talked about you know, Hollywood reuniting Davante Adams,
Aaron Rodgers. It really is Thomas welcome back in We
were just talking at the start of the show about
relationships and kind of the romanticism that surrounds Aaron Rodgers
(13:41):
getting back with DeVante Adams. And there's just some players
that when they're on your team or on your rosters,
like heck, yeah, I've got support now, and as fantasy owners,
because it's very similar to being an NFL quarterback in
one of the biggest media markets where you're a polarizing figure.
That's how it feels setting your lineup every week. We
want to channel that energy, right, We want to know, Okay,
if I can think a little bit like someone like
(14:03):
Aaron Rodgers in terms of building my team, who do
I want on my roster? If you could call your
DeVante Adams for your fantasy team, who is that right now?
And I think that's the question everyone going into Week
seven is asking because year for years of fantasy stalwarts
are just they're not showing up. I don't know who
to trust this season initially, like we have had so
(14:23):
many not just injuries, but weird performances, inconsistent performances at
the top end of the positions. I mean, no one
saw Baker Mayfield coming. He's like the quarterback one right
now depending on scoring formatt It's insane. Can you really
trust that moving forward? So, so, Thomas, I want to
ask you starting out, who is he running back that
(14:46):
you trust moving forward rest of season?
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Well, David Montgomery is somebody I got my eye on.
If I need running back help and I don't have
a running back that I can trust, and I'm just
looking for somebody I can put in my lineup and
just forget about him. David Montgomery is where I'm going.
I know he's not on the younger side, but I'm
(15:14):
talking about if you've watched the film, it's the eye
test for me. Have you If you watch him and
that offense operate, there's something special going on and it's
been going on for a while. And I mean it,
he does. I got I got the stats right here.
He barely gets on the field, y'all. This is craziness.
(15:36):
Gonna I'm gonna go through, Uh, David Montgomery's snap percentage
and his running It's insane, you know this, This is crazy.
Forty nine percent RB fourteen thirty five percent, RB thirteen,
fifty one percent RB. I'm sorry, is that the like? Yeah,
(15:56):
fifty one percent RB eight, RB eighteen, thirty one percent
on the field last week he ended up RB five.
They are committed to running the ball, and they showed it.
If you get a contract midseason, if there's just somebody,
if you see somebody with a contract midseason, you know
(16:17):
that the organization thinks that he's special and is trying
to lock him up because they don't want anybody else
to get their hands on it. David Montgomery can perform
if he gets twenty five to fifty percent of the
snap count and still get you a running back ten
twelve eight finish. He may never be running back one
(16:38):
because he has to split carriers with Jamier Gibbs, but
on that offense, with that offensive line and the way
they move the ball in at play calling, I want
every piece of that. And if David Montgomery, if I
could get David Montgomery as my RB one or two,
I feel really good about that.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
Dude. You know, to let the listeners in a little
bit on behind the curtain, send this prompt out like, hey,
we're gonna do players to trust. That's the theme of
the show, and like, so the goal is to pick
pick people not that like are going to maybe set
the world on fire. They can be a high you know,
high draft capital cost. It's not a sleeper pick. It's
just hey, I want this kind on my team. I
(17:15):
feel safe. I know I'm getting steady points the rest
of the time. My choice of the running back position
was also David Montgomery, and so I've got an additional one.
But just to add to your point, you can take
that snap percentage screenshot, you know what I mean, and
you can send it to a different owner and try
to trade for and be like, look, it's he's he's
had a touchdown every single week. What happens when he doesn't,
(17:37):
It's going to be rough. Whatever this is, the lines
are one of the best offenses in football, if not
the best. I love that you brought up the contract extension.
And then in Dynasty he is a bit older, and
so there's this kind of semblance of he's the perfect
value candidate where it's like, listen, I've got an RB
one whose price is an RB two. His floor is
(17:57):
so safe. And then the only thing we're not talking
about is, let's say Jamiir Gibbs does get injured, which,
of course I don't want to project or believe. I'm
a Jamiir Gibbs owner. I'm a huge fan of jami Gibbs.
But there is room for David Montgomery to be a
league winner simply if Jamiir Gibbs misses two or three
weeks come playoff time, if they just want to rest
his legs. He looks unbelievable, like you said, and I
think part of the reason I trust it is because
(18:19):
the snap percentage I don't believe is a weakness. I
believe it's an advantage. It lets him go in and
be dominant on the carries he is, which are always
high value because they're usually the goal line back on
with a great offense. So I love Dave Montgomerys bonus
running back. I want to bring up Kenneth Walker. Kenneth
Walker used to have the stigma of he doesn't catch passes.
(18:41):
He is averaging a fifteen percent target share in games
race play where he's healthy. I mean, especially the last
or for you give me the last two weeks. It
wasn't happening on the ground. Kenneth Walker was always that
guy in years previous where it's like, well he can
rip off the home run ball, he can, he can,
you know, do a sixty yard touchdown. But there's no
passing work life. Last two games in terms of receiving,
(19:03):
he's had eight targets for seven receptions in fifty seven yards.
Eight targets for eight receptions in thirty seven yards. If
you're in a PPR league, that's unbelievable. Kenneth Walker now
has completed the every down back profile. He can do
it all on an offense that's very aggressive. I love
what Ryan Grubb is doing in Seattle. On top of that,
(19:24):
he's got the league winning power. He's RB four on
a points per game basis. He missed some time with
that oblique injury, but his finishes RB nine, RB two,
RB twenty one, RB thirteen. Kenneth Walker is a certified
stud at the position, and somehow he still feels undervalued
in dynasty. And you can go get a twenty three
year old running back in his prime for much much
cheaper than Bjean Buris or Jumior. So I am all
(19:45):
in on Kenneth Walker. Dynasty Redraft. Whatever format you have,
you're playing with house money with Ken Walker.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
I would agree with that, man I have I don't.
I don't have any knows for that, because I'll say
this what really sold me. I've always loved Ken Walker,
but it's always been Okay, is he gonna, you know,
take third downs? Well, he have a catch passes? Is
he like just a grinder and like you know, maybe
he'll bust a run every once in a while. Whatever. Right,
(20:15):
it was last week when he had the ugliest rushing
game I've seen him have in a long time, and
he's still I think he scored twenty one Fantasy Place.
When you can't score points ugly, that means that the
team is committed to you, no matter what they believe
in you. And if you're getting all of those carries
(20:35):
and all of those targets and still not gaining yards,
but you get in the high value ones, like you said,
and if you can score, if you can score points
like that at a high clip when you're not having
a good day, that's the kind of running back out.
Speaker 1 (20:49):
Yeah, if you're gonna be on the field when you're
trailing in games as well. Because even Derrick Henry, who's
having an unbelievable season, I think he's the RB one
on the ear, but Baltimore needs to be ahead for
him to get a lot of touches. Kenneth Walker, if
they're down thirty points, he's dead thrown the ball. The
only time Kenneth Walker probably off the feel is if
they're up by thirty, which means he probably scored two
(21:10):
or three touchdowns before they got you know that happened.
So he's such a great I feel good with KENA
Walker on roster now. Obviously, if I have a healthy
Christian McCaffrey, I'm like more excited about that, but I
feel safe knowing I have Ken Walker there. He does
struggle with injury a little because he runs hard, but
I still trust a lot. That's why David Montgomery was
my first pick. But I'm glad that you and I
were in such agreement that we moved on. There is
(21:32):
that that I had to change. Moving on. What is
a wide receiver that comes to mind for you that
you just trust? And by the way, Nico Collins, he
was the wide receiver one he was injured. Malite Neighbors,
he was the wide receiver one he was injured. I
am terrified of any wide receiver that gets hot, So
please tell me there's good news at the position.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
Oh man, I there's a couple of people I really
really like. But I tell you this is gonna support.
This is surprising to me just saying this out loud.
But Jayden Reid, I am I'm in. I'm in, and
I'm in in a.
Speaker 1 (22:04):
Way where having a year man.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
Yeah, I am in in a way where I don't
believe that they there is pound a pound a better
player on that roster than Jayden Reid, and they must
get him the ball. They must every game. And if
he only gives four receptions, I'm happy with that because
the way he's playing right now and how he looks
(22:28):
another eye test guy, like you really got to throw
all the numbers in, Like, oh no, he's not a
target hag. He's not like a traditional number one alpha receiver.
But he is the alpha on this team. And I
think we talked about this a couple of weeks ago.
He is the alpha on his team. Regardless. Every week,
they're gonna try to get the ball in his hands.
They're gonna look to him at the goal line, they're
gonna look to him deep, they're gonna try to give
(22:48):
him get him on a reverse or some kind of
jet sweep. Whatever they can do to get the ball
in his hands, they're going to do, and it's gonna
come early and often. And I don't care about his
snap percentage. He might not be on the field in
too wide receiver sets, but I trust, I trust Matt
Lafleur knows what he has in him, which is a
very very special player. I don't have anything I can
(23:13):
say about Jane Reed, Like when you watch him play,
he wants it, he wants to be great. It feels
like it right Like it feels like he's intense on
the field, like there's just.
Speaker 1 (23:22):
Like he runs with such a shit.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
I don't receivers.
Speaker 1 (23:26):
He he has kind of a Deebo Samuel esk ability
to like, oh, anytime he touches the ball, he could
house it, like you feel like he could break and
tackle and all that. But he's not quite as physical
as more of a technician a lot Chris Burn his
routes and things like that. I think it's a good
reminder for everyone, especially with the wide receiver position, there
is volatility at every player in fantasy. I do think
(23:46):
Jayden Reed is headed for some negative volatility. It seems
like the weeks when the yardage hasn't been there, the
touchdown has But ultimately what you said, I trust him
because he's the best past catching option. He's the best
offensive player other than maybe Jordan Love, but you know
they work in tandem on on the Packers full stop.
(24:07):
And so he's Yes, it's been six targets. The most
targets he's had in the game is eight, which is
insane to me because it feels like when you watch
him play, like this is clearly the guy they want
to feature. But he's efficient off in an offense that's
built for efficiency. He's in the perfect place for him.
And you also know he's never gonna get double coverage
or get bracket or taken out of a game. You
can't game plan him out because it's like, well, they're
(24:29):
not making him a focal point. It's just when he
gets the ball look out. So and I agree the
manufacturer touches are a great vote of confidence. I do
just worry. I do think there's some you know, six
for fifty three weeks coming up, simply because I think
other guys are gonna eat Christian Watson seems to have
found his legs. Romeo Dobbs Squeaky Wheel. He's scored, but
(24:50):
he hasn't disappointed so far. I think he's I think
he's a great player, and I'd be stoked to have
him on a roster. I'm actually gonna jump to my
quarterback because I'm gonna I'm gonna piggyback off the Jaden Reed.
My quarterback who I trust is Jordan Love. Now, this is,
by the way, this is especially true. Please always think
about your league format. I know you do when you're
in Dynasty especially, but this is so much more true
(25:10):
in six point touchdown format than it is in four
point touchdown because Jordan Love does not run the ball.
Jordan Love does not scramble. He is not going to
give you a crazy amount of rushing touchdowns. The upside
is very limited in a single or in a six
point touchdown league. In terms of points per game, Jordan
Love is second only to Baker Mayfield at twenty seven
point eight a game. Now, Baker having an unbelievable terror
(25:32):
playing bad offenses, Jordan Love, just like last year, is
throwing an audacious amount of touchdowns and I don't think
it's going to stop because the Packers, for whatever reason,
can't seem to punch it in from the one yard
line of the two yard line with Josh Jacobs aj
Dillon last year, anybody. Jordan Love is unbelievable in the
red zone. He has great receivers who can do run
after the catch. He can throw it short, he can
(25:53):
throw it long. He's strolling touchdowns all over the place.
Mount lafloor Is. I think at this point we can
say one of the best head coaches in the NFL,
certainly the best offensive head coaches in the NFL. And
just like last year, you're seeing touchdowns. You know, like
he's playing this year the way he ended last year
and with a full season of it. This is a
forty touchdown capable quarterback in that offense is certainly going
(26:15):
to be that also because they don't run the ball
in and they don't need to. So I love Jordan
Love in a four point touchdown temper this down right.
If you're only only four point passing a touchdown, it's
just not doesn't hit with the same juice as that
six point and there's not nearly as much upside. But
this is not about players that are sexy. There's not
players that are just exciting. These are about players. I
(26:35):
trust Jordan Love my quarterback one position. I know I'm
getting twenty points guarantee, I'm getting two touchdowns and two
hundred yards, and there's room for four touchdowns and three hundred.
So I'm stoked. If I have Jordan Love, which I do,
and yeah, I trust him quite a bit. I'll jump
back to you, Thomas is their quarterback you have at
all end with my wide receivers.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Yeah, I love that Jordan Love pick man, He's just
he if we have learned yet that he is gifted
and he's worthy of if all of the contracts that
was signed in the offseason, like, pay that man his money.
He deserves it. I got rocked pretty and I'll tell
(27:15):
you why. Purty's Like we were expecting his efficiency to
go down after last year because it was just so high.
It was through the roof. There's no way he could
have gone bless you. And this year he's had I
believe two games and like in four point passing touchdowns.
He's about like two twenty point games. I believe it
(27:38):
was the Rams and I can't think of the other game,
but there was those two games where he scored twenty
plus points. The reason I pick him is because he's
played really, really well. If you've watched the games, he
looks really good, like he's escaping like Patrick Mahomes in
the in the backfield. He's got like three or four
rushers around him, and it's still getting way, sometimes getting
(28:01):
ten yard runs, sometimes like finding the open receiver down
the field. He's threatening the defense down the field moure
than I've ever seen him do before, and it might
be out of necessity, but he just looks the part.
And on top of that, this man is about to
get loaded with weapons. McCaffrey's coming back, you got pears
all coming back from his injury. We haven't seen him
(28:24):
hit the field yet. He could be a major player.
Aiyuk still hasn't found his groove yet. We believe that
it will happen. So when all of these things come together,
he is going to be just as efficient the rest
of the way as you probably saw last year. And
you're gonna see all of these pieces find their way
(28:44):
to make him a I mean, because he's playing so
well and I know he has a contract on the line,
You're just gonna see a lot of downfield shots. You're
gonna see a lot of dump offs to McCaffrey where
he can run for fifteen twenty yards and you're just
gonna see a lot of passing yard and touchdowns go
up that you haven't seen from Rock Party. I don't
think since he's been in the league. I think he's
(29:06):
gonna have a phenomenal second half of the season.
Speaker 1 (29:09):
I love the take because he's only had two games
where he's thrown for more than one touchdown. I mean,
he has first game this season no touchdowns that Jordan
Mason had a crazy game one three one one three, right,
So it feels deluded. But also the rushing there's a
sweet little baseline there. He's run for forty yards thirty
three yards like he's really really mobile with his legs
(29:31):
when he needs to be, and I think he can
scramble in for one or two touchdowns as a sweetener.
But I love that you brought up McCaffrey's coming back
eventually and Brandon, I know he certainly has not found
his form yet, and I think he will. You know,
he isn't completely gone from who he was last season.
He's an incredible route runner and he's a great player.
He just needs to get kind of back in shape
(29:51):
and back in the swing of things. I think it's
a great pick, because yeah, it's not. I don't think
Rock Party can never finish as a top five QB
just because the Kyle Shanahan off. This is so effective
on the ground, right Isaac Grendo is, you know, ripping
off ninety nine hours crazy blowing people out, So yeah,
you know it's it's wild. But I do think the
touchdowns could pick up. I think you start seeing two
a game, three, maybe a four touchdown game you know,
(30:13):
come coming up soon. So really really exciting what he
could do moving forward. And also if he's just what
he's been, that's more than enough. That's like more than enough.
It's it's still a quarterback one, so really really good.
I'm gonna fish with my wide receivers. I have two.
The first is and we've kind of forgotten about this
guy AJ Brown. AJ Brown had the hamstring issues disappeared.
(30:36):
He is the wide receiver one on a points per
game basis for the whole season, full stop. And it's
only been two games. But still I think we forget
how good AJ Brown is and how good you know,
how much of an alpha he is even in that offense,
it still looks broken. And I want to bring up
the A J. Brown was the wide receiver seven this
or for you, I mean, he was the wide receiver
three this last week and the Eagles only scored like
(30:56):
what twenty points they won twenty sixteen. They didn't cover
against the Browns. You know, like, this dude is gonna
get his He's gonna he can house it from anywhere,
unbelievable at any point in the field. You know, he's
kind of like I want to see his old news.
But the hype and excitement around A J. Brown has
faded since when he first got to the Eagles, and
we were also he's still in his prime, is twenty seven.
(31:19):
He's an unbelievable player. They have a great schedule still
coming up. They have to play the Giants, Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Dallas, Washington.
All of those are defenses I don't fear in the slightest.
I think it's good news for him. I think it's
good news for Jalen Hurts. And then I want to
throw another bonus NFC East wide receiver. My my Cowboys
pain is just making me appreciate my opponents. It's dangerous
(31:40):
heretical waters. I'm swimming in. But Terry McLaurin as well.
Tera McLaurin not to the level of Aj Brown. I
really trust him in a flex or wide receiver tow
to freeze position on my team. And the reason is
Jaden Daniels is the real deal. It needs to be
talked about. Terry McLaurin started the year really really slow.
I'll pull it up right now, give me one second.
But it was like wide receiver fifty something, wide receiver
(32:02):
seventy something. Here it is right here, oh, wide receiver. Yeah,
it was wide receiver seventy eight, Wide receiver fifty three,
then wide receiver ten, wide receiver twenty, wide receiver twenty seven,
wide receiver five. He subtracted the first two games. He's
on pace for a top ten, top eight wide receiver year.
You're gonna have variants at the position. Terry McLaurin has
(32:24):
always been an elite player. He's never been in an
elite offense, and the Commanders seem to be that this year,
even if it is a rookie quarterback who isn't necessarily
throwing as many touchdowns as you'd like to see, but
they look electric all the same.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
Yeah, yeah, no, I I think Terry McLaurin has always
been the most I think this is he's always been
the most undervalued receiver, a number one receiver in the league,
because he's never had a quarterback that could really get
him the ball. He he's I mean, he's a great
(32:57):
deep threat, one of the best we have in the league,
great route runner, reliable. Now he has a quarterback that
he could actually like trust and who trusts him and
can get him the ball. I think he's a great
I think Terry mccorn is a great buye. I will
say this if you Terry McLaurin is at I think
(33:19):
one of ter mcclorn's twenty nine. He's about to be thirty. Soon,
he might be at his apex. I'm not sure. I'm
not sure, but it's getting close. So my point is,
like I love Terry mccaorn. I wouldn't necessarily be buying
him right now, but yeah, I would either hold a
cell because I think he's just he is in a
(33:41):
place where I don't think by next year when they
do get another receiver, because they will, he won't have
the same type of impact. It'll be still a great season,
But they're not going to pass that much. Even if
Jade Daniels is throwing in complete eighty percent, which he is,
They're still gonna be a running team. They're still gonna
do a lot of RPOs. He's still gonna scramble a lot,
(34:04):
which actually adds value to everybody around him.
Speaker 1 (34:08):
So, yeah, the offense has been has been great. I
mean that's not a yeah. Like what Jen Daniels has done.
I mean through the air, it's he's not throwing for
thirty thirty five touchdowns this season. It doesn't have to.
When he does on the ground opens up everything else.
Every there's just been more scoring opportunities and that's great.
I love what you brought up, though, Like in terms
of selling him or holding him, I think sometimes we think, like, oh,
(34:32):
we've got to make a blockbuster killing or I've got
to sell a player who's about to decline. Terry mccluorin
can have his best two seasons the rest of this
year and next year, and you can sell him right now.
If your roster isn't ready to win a championship, you
should sell him. You should believe in what you're selling
someone else. Hey, this is a really good player who's
gonna have a really good year. It's just not fitting
(34:53):
where my team is at. So I feel confident asking
for that first or that that player, plus, depending on
the format, whatever that compensation is, because you're getting a
high end wide receiver two who's finally getting a competent
not just quarterback but offense. I think that's important. You know,
so a great player, Thomas a great show. But the
(35:14):
fantasy fatigue is real. We're in the middle of the
season and we're just trying to survive. Sometimes. I got
bye weeks coming up, I'm playing rivals. I just lost.
First of all, I just lost my first cartel match.
I thought I was gonna be six in oh in
the dynastely I was competing in and I lost to
someone who didn't even start two quarterbacks. I was atrocious
and they started deck at their other quarterback position. It
(35:34):
was the most unrealistic loss.
Speaker 2 (35:37):
Worst feeling in the world is like you, I got
this team.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
I got That was literally after I beat you and
someone else, I'm like, oh, I have a kind of
an easy schedule coming up because I saw bye weeks
and this and that, and he had like oh he
started Tyler lockeat he's scored a touch down. It was
just one of those weeks for me, like there was
all these players that went off that shouldn't have, but hey,
that's fantasy. We're going to keep it quick this evening.
(36:00):
Thank you again for listening into another episode of the
Dynasty Change. We will be back next week, hopefully with
more wins and more players that we've learned to trust
because we actually have some more good fantasy points being
scored and not injuries. Knock on wood, it's been real peace.
Oh yeah, I'm a okay
