After a bombastic Week 5, Josh and Thomas are left with more questions than answers for their own dynasty rosters. Thomas has already pulled off a blockbuster trade, moving on from Mahomes after a disappointing start to the season. The guys also react to Robert Saleh’s firing and the open-door opportunity in New Orleans for Spencer Rattler. Additionally, they discuss who they truly see as the RB1 in Dynasty moving forward.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
I musteen.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Oh yeah, they say a journey of a thousand miles
begins with a single step. Thomas, I would be curious
to know how many of those thousand mile journeys and
at step number like two thousand, five hundred, Because after

(00:26):
Week five, believe it or not, after an off season
of waiting, praying and hoping football would return, I've got
a little bit of fantasy fatigue. I am at a
place where I am exhausted. I love watching football. My
teams are doing well, but I cannot make heads or
tails of what is going on in the NFL this year.
Just when we think we have an idea about what

(00:47):
a player is, about what a team is, they completely
subvert our expectations, except for the Vikings, who only seem
to exist to mess with any bet I would make
on a parlay, because how is a team of backups
coached by Brian Flora and Kevin O'Connell like it's It
makes no sense. And so today the goal is to
of course look at the news and notes, but to
answer some questions we still have, Thomas, no question, I'm

(01:12):
happy to see you this evening. It's good to have
you here on Tuesday night. As we prepare for Week six.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Same brother. Always good to be here. Man, I'm feeling
the fatigue myself. You know, before the season starts, it
feels like you're saying to yourself, Okay, I'm gonna pare
down these leagues. I'm only gonna do one or two,
maybe three leagues or whatever. Yeah, And then like me,

(01:38):
you get talked into this league, in that league, and
all day I'm on my phone wave of wires to
trade talks, all of this stuff. It is you.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Are paying the price for May's boredom right now because
you committed to like three extra dineties like you're in May,
the rookie drafts around. You miss football so much much. Yeah,
I like my roster. I need not to touch this.
I'll just do another league.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Yea.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
And that's what happened. And I know, I know your
brother Mike was a big proponent of that. He is
not he is. He is a bad influence when it
comes to joining more leagues. He's like, always get another one,
is get another one? You love. It's super fun in me.
But now you're having to wake up there. You know,
you're having to do waiver wires for all of these leagues.
And you. There are some names on there you never
thought you'd see again. Kareem Hunt. I hate to say it.

(02:25):
It pains me to say it. Super relevant right now
for win Now teams in Dynasty, it's Juju Smith Schuster
back to being relevant. I mean, there's, like I said
at the start of show, can't make heads or tails
of what's going on right now. We're gonna do the
best we can, but first we we've got to talk
news and notes and talking about something that doesn't make sense.

(02:47):
Here's my take on Robert Sola. This is a fantasy show.
This does have fantasy implications, but I would be lying
to tell you if I knew exactly what they were.
Because Nathaniel Hackett is still the offensive coordinator, Aaron Rodgers
still like the quarterback. It seems like the Rogers experiment
it like lat like two weeks ago, it's like, okay,

(03:08):
it's starting to succeed. Now it's starting to look bad again.
I don't know what this does. I don't know how
much Robert Sala had to say of who was getting
the goal line touches brayln Allen or Breese Hall. I
don't know who was you know was Robert Sala on
Garrett Wilson's side or Aaron Rodgers side with the target tair,
I don't entirely know. What it does signal to me

(03:28):
is that the Jets are a bit of a dumpster fire.
And I'm gonna bet good money that Davante Adams probably
doesn't go there right now because it looks like it's
too much of a messy situation.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Yeah. I mean, if I'm DeVante, I want to stay
away from that place as much as I can't. Like
even if my homeboy is the quarterback, it feels to
me like Aaron Rodgers is just like everywhere he goes,
he's gonna set fire to that place. And I just
think that at this point in his life, he is
not a person that the coaches or or the you know,

(04:02):
some of the receivers or everybody, if you weren't didn't
know him win. Let me put it like this, just
Aaron Rodgers to me this and now, Aaron Rodgers is
no new friends. Aaron Rodgers is all about the people
he's known before. He couldn't get along Christian Watson, he
wasn't doing what he wanted to do. Garrett Wilson and
him arguing and they don't have a you know, a

(04:24):
good rapport. You got him and Sala like having sideline
altercations where he just like Katie even hugged the man
like it feels like he is a cancer, so to
speak to whatever team he's with. And if I'm DeVante Adams,
I want to go somewhere where I can win a championship.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Yeah, I don't think it's The Jets don't look like
that right now.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
And like a dumpster fire. They're like they're gonna go
down and down, and it's gonna They're gonna take pretty
much everybody with them. And at the end of the day,
Aaron Rodgers is gonna end up leaving after this year.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
I I don't know. You know, it's funny. I'm actually
a bit of a Aaron Rodgers supporter because you say,
like he's a dumpster fire everyone's he's only been with
one franchise and he's only been the starter for the
Jets this year, you know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
But he left that franchise like the dude they kicked.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
They kicked him out, dude, they and rightfully so. Jordan
Love looks amazing, but they drafted him three years he
won an MVP and they draft his backup. He had
no intentions of lady.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
You can't get the year before. He didn't win it
the year before. It wasn't like he was he won.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Well, first of all, he had just won the MVP
and they draft or no, they had he didn't. He
didn't just win the MVP. That's incorrect. They draft Jordan Love,
he wins the MVP, and then he won the MVP again.
Forgive me, but my point was they were a really
relevant playoff team when they drafted Jordan Love, and so
you know he was. I thought he actually handled that
incredibly well. His relationship with Jordan Love is really strong,

(05:48):
like they're they're on a good basis. But that being said,
you can't deny where there's smoke, there's fire. The head
coach being fired, the owners come out and said it
was his decision alone, and I was like, yeah, dude, yeah,
but you texted Aaron right Like, I definitely think there's
some blood on Aaron Rodgers hands for this. I don't
know how much, but I mean, just for fantasy purposes,

(06:10):
go ahead with what you're gonna say. I mean, we
can speculate about the drama of the Jets all day.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Yeah, I know, yeah, you want to get down and
any gritted, But I'm just I'm just saying, like Aaron,
this isn't new for him to have these type of
you know, issues with coaches or issues with like him
and Matt la Floor did not get along, that's what.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Yeah, him, him and McCarthy. Yeah, they always seemed to
animated on the sideline.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Yeah right, So I mean this is gonna keep happening
because with has smoke this fire and it just keeps happening.
So I I think he's gonna have to get his
guy in the head coaching position, which I don't know.
Are thin't gonna promote Nathaniel Hackett?

Speaker 2 (06:50):
I know, I think they I think they said they
were hiring. I forget who it was. It's a it's
an old linebacker as.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
The get somebody has no affiliation with him to be Yeah. Yeah, well,
I just I would love for him. I would love
for him to finish his career on a high note.
High ye out with ye all of this dramas around it.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Yeah, no, it's it's definitely there's more soap opera than
football being played. It feels like, you know what I mean,
like every and that's that's partially the media. That's not
you know, that's we are a part of the problem, Thomas.
But for fantasy purposes, there's just so many questions I
have for fantasy because the hope of Garrett Wilson this
last week was awesome, right, twenty two targets, thirteen receptions,
But it's kind of like, wait a minute, twenty two targets,

(07:35):
you only got thirteen for one on one and one,
like the efficiency was not there, so Breeze Hall worst
week of the year. I mean, there's some there's a
lot of questions, and a lot invested, and a lot
of dnasty players have stuff invested in the Jets, So
I think we're all waiting with baited breath for that
situation to either implode completely so we can all move
on and pieces can go other places. If you have

(07:55):
long term shares or them, to figure it out and
figure it out quick, because it's week five and it's
the whole Hey, it's early in the season. We're figuring out. No.
Now we are in the middle of the season and
you're either on a rocket ship headed to the playoffs
or you're already starting to you're just trying to, you know,
tread water and stay in the fight remotely, because if

(08:15):
you're at one and four like some of these like it,
you know the Bengals, you know, it's like, hey, it's
gonna be rough, trying to get back to relevance. But
moving on to another team that started the season so hot,
Derek Carr is now injured. I forget what the exact
it's an oblique injury, I believe, but he's gonna miss
a considerable amount of time. Here's what I'll say, not

(08:37):
to injury serious. And you're a Saints fan, so I
don't want to like dance you know, on your your
sadness here. No, I'm not a dunck on you, but
this would not be a fantasy show, and I would
not be a self profest analysts slash entertainer, whatever you
want to call it. If I didn't say, hey, I
had a take in the Hot Takes episode, I was like,
cam Akers is going to get an opportunity to be

(08:58):
a Top twelve running back with Joe Mixon out. I
thought that was gonna happen. Cam Akers hasn't quite produced
the way I wanted him to. He's been relevant but
not top twelve relevant. And then the other one of
my hot takes was that Spencer Rattler was going to
see some significant time as the Saint starter because I
think Dennis Allen's gonna get fired the first two ingredients
Derek Carr is being injured. That's I didn't see injury

(09:21):
coming per se, But that's a door open for Rattler.
And I do think Dennis Allen is not long for
the Saints because I do think it's just gonna get
worse and worse from here on out, unfortunately for you.
Charle Thomas, No, I agree, man, I agree.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
I think I don't know, man, I don't see Jake
han or a Spencer Ratler who is a rookie and
who is a fifth round pick at that Like obviously
we all love him and we love this story and
hopefully like he can you know, be the person he
was on a path to be, and he looked every
bit of it in the preseason. But I mean, like

(09:55):
this is it feels like it's a dumpster fire again,
Like I'm gonna keep going back to that, but like,
like the Saints are imploding. They got worked by Kansas
City and I'm a Saints fan, But that was a
tough game to watch. It was just a grind like
they did whatever they wanted. It should have been they dominated,
like Troyman had a kind at a moment where he

(10:15):
talked about they dominated that game even though the score
was twenty six to thirteen. Derek Carr leaving opens the
door for these two quarterbacks. Especially. I'm hoping it's Rattler,
but it could be Hayin. And if Hayter is the guy.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
I think it will be the start. I think they'll
do a game of Hater and let it and do
the whole like, because that's Dennis Allen as a coach. Yeah,
it's the old school, earn your key, you know, next
man up. You know he's a veteran, he's won the locker.
I watched Jake Hater going into replacement. I turned to
my buddy we're watching the game together, and said, that
looks like a make a wish kid like Jake Canter
is a better athlete than me. He's an NFL player.

(10:54):
He looked significantly smaller and less like, yeah, he's a
tiny human like. I was like that.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
I thought he looked good in that short It was
I mean.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
I'm sure, first of all, he's twice the athlete athlete
I'll ever be all that like he's quite literally an
NFL player. I'm just saying, Spencer Rattler four years ago,
five years ago was who we thought the one oh
one in super Flex was gonna be. There is still
tremendous upside with him as a player for your franchise
because Derek Carr is a rental Let's remember, you know,
it wasn't like the Saints built a long term roster

(11:26):
around Derek Carr. They he inherited a win now team.
It was kind of a matt like what you know,
a marriage of convenience like it just made sense for
both parties. Derek was still a very good, cute quarterback
and above average, you know, not a not a top
ten starter, but certainly not a backup either, and the
Saints had a win now roster in need of someone

(11:46):
like that. So where's the future lie with the Saints?
All those questions are going to be asked, But for
dynasty purposes, how do you feel about Chris olave Stock
because him and car have not connected all season. Rashid
Shiheed has been the wide receiver one there is this
good news for all lave or is this bad news?

Speaker 1 (12:01):
I think it's bad news for a LAVE. I don't
I don't. I don't see an urgency to get him
the ball, and I think that's play calling. But I
also believe that Derek Carr is not gonna that is
not his first read. And I don't know where the
disconnect has come in. But well, Lave was supposed to be,
you know, a guy that was at least a target

(12:25):
hog for the Saints and now.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Wide receiver to receiver two. Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
And like now it looks like Rashid Shaheed is the
number one receiver there and but but you still got
Alvin Kamara demanding all of these targets. There is seems
like there's not a lot of room.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Now.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
I will say this, and I said this the other day.
I wouldn't get too upset about last night. McDuffie is
a lock down cornerback. He was on him most of
the game. He's an All Pro first round pick. Kansas
City keeps drafting these amazing cornerbacks who lock you up.
And he just did it to Jamar Chase a couple

(13:01):
of weeks ago. I think Chase had four catches for
thirty five yards. So don't get too excited and just
pan Excel or lobby just yet. But I think we're
not looking at a high end wide receiver too right now, man,
and I have a lot of shares of him. I
think you're looking at a wide receiver like a low
end two, maybe a high high end three. And that
is saying a lot from a guy who was dressed

(13:23):
in some second rounds.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
No, I mean he was. He's he's a special talent
and unfortunately it's just not it's just not come to fruition.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Let me ask you, this is this a bilo opportunity
for him?

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Man? I think if you believe in the player, you
should like if it's if someone has that affection for him,
like I have for a certain Steelers wide receiver, where
it's like you'll always believe, like absolutely it's a great one.
You know what I did, I pulled I pulled up
someone from last year. This were his finishes wide receiver
through the first five weeks. Wide receiver thirty two, wide

(14:03):
receiver ten, wide receiver forty three, wide receiver twenty, wide
receiver forty five. Any guess who that was through the
first five weeks, No ended up being the wide receiver
one overall CD Lamb. And so you know, I'm not
saying it's a lava, but I do feel like I
just feel like if if you're going to make a

(14:24):
season winning move, now is the time. You know what
I mean? Like this is where like if you can
trade for that player that's about to go on a
hot streak that you can see things improving for going
to it, because I mean, O lave. It's a very
sill you know, wide receiver eighty eight, Wide receiver twenty six,
Wide receiver twelve, Wide receiver twenty six, Wide receiver eighty
two A lave to finish the year after the bye
week in week twelve, it's just a bye week thirteen

(14:47):
Rams Giants, Washington, Green Bay, Las Vegas.

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Oh that's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (14:52):
That's that's a league winning trade if you make it
right now. The problem is he who's thrown him the ball? Right?

Speaker 1 (14:59):
I will say, I will say this, if there's a
bright side to it, you say, who's throwing on the
ball does a bright side to it? A young quarterback
looks for his number one receiver. He he peppers his
number one receiver with targets. Yeah, I'm not saying Hayna
Will or Bradler will.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
But if I think it is a bilo, I think,
for what it's worth, I think it is a bilow.
It's just a question of is the person like what
is If you can get a lave for twenty twenty
six late first or if you can get a lave
for multiple seconds, I would do it. I still believe
in the talent. What I see on film is still excellent,
and so you're just waiting for the situation. He's a

(15:35):
young he's a young, good wide receiver. Eventually he'll be
in a good offense, you hope. So before we move
on from the news notes, got to mention not that
it's major news, because people Nico Collins was the wide
receiver one before tweaking his hammy, and I love when
this happens. He went out on a touchdown, So if
you're gonna get injured, please do it after you score
me enough to help me with my fantasy matchup. Yeah,

(15:57):
he is, he is weak to weak. I think I
think this is big news for Tank Dell. I think
this is big news for Stefan Diggs. If you have
those pieces, that's exciting, But I just wanted to throw
that in the news and notes, because for Dynasty purposes,
you're just stoked on Nico Collins. But I just wanted
to bring up like this was a guy who was
outside the top forty wide receivers in Dynasty last year,

(16:20):
just been on an awesome tear. So those those players
are out there, now is the time to try to
figure out and plant your flag on what's the next
chapter going to look like and what offensive situations are
going to improve. I think Tank Dell is a by
low because he's going to have an opportunity to re
establish himself right now. I'm not a believer in Steffan Diggs.
I just am the long term. The rest of the season.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
Yeah, I mean, if you win now, Stefon Diggs will work.
But other than that, you probably want to get off
of it. You probably want to sell him right now.
I think I said that last week, like you probably
want to sell Digs right now because right I don't
know if his value will ever get this high again,
Like Nico's gone for a couple of weeks. You know,
somebody I'd be desperate, who's one in four or you know,

(17:02):
two and three go sell him, get get something for him,
get a couple of seconds if you can, maybe at
twenty five, twenty six. You know, if you could do that,
you know that'll work.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
I'm a fan of it. I'm a fan of it. Well,
we're gonna take a quick break when we come back.
There are five questions, not five questions. Forgive me. It's
week five and I have three questions we need answered
because even though the season is entering, it's prime, it's middle,
the long middle, as they say, I still am needing
a ton of clarity. And Thomas, you're gonna help me
out right after this welcome back into the ninety exchange.

(17:37):
We have got three unanswered questions, three grand mysteries we
need solved for the rest of the twenty twenty four
Fantasy season, specifically for Dynasty obviously. But before we get there, Thomas,
I do want to comment on a blockbuster trade you
had in the League of Record, and I want to
comment on your etiquette. First of all, you are four
and one in this league, Dynasty Exchange. This is the

(18:00):
legue where I've sacked up a ton of picks. I
am the bank, and Thomas, I just want you to know,
like I'm here for you. You know, part of what
I do in my in my real estate career, we
give I don't give BPOs, but those are broker's opinion
or you know, broker's price opinion or broker's opinion of price.
We you know we we do uh, you know we

(18:22):
can't properties, Okay, we poll comps. We try to tell
you what the overall market value of something is before
you go to sell it. You did not give me
a call. You didn't give the bank a call, you
didn't get an appraisal done. You went ahead and dealt Patrick.
To keep in mind the quarterbacks you had in that league,
you had Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen super flex. You
traded Patrick Mahomes for Trevor Lawrence, Christian Kirk, Andy Dalton.

(18:46):
I'm Pat Frearmuth. It is a tight end premium and
a third yeah, okay, yeah, how dare you? Why was
I not given a call? I would have happily given
you picks for him. And what do you see in
Trevor Lawrence that I have not seen over the past
three and a half years of his career?

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Right? So, I mean, look, two years ago he was
the quarterback eight so he wasn't. He hasn't been bad
all his career. But so I'm banking on two things.
First of all, he's got job security. Mahomes has that too,
but man, i'd say so, yeah, yeah, of course. But

(19:27):
let me just say this. We play a game where
you count points and not wins. Okay, and I'm Patrick
Mahomes is five and oh but he has I think
four touchdowns something like that. He's five maybe five, I
don't know. He's at the most interceptions in the league.
I know that this is not again where they's smoked

(19:51):
this fire. Unless they get DeVante Adams or Deontay Johnson,
nothing is going to change because their defense is winning
games and a billion people and they want to run
the ball. I'm going to win now. I have a
win now team. I was lacking depth. I didn't have
a tight end. I needed a tight end Pat fired Youth.

(20:11):
There's a top ten tight end. I needed a quarterback
who I could play in the future and in the present.
I believe Trevor Lawrence, even though he hasn't looked good man.
They given him weapons, Tank Bigsby and uh Brian Like,
I mean, look, he's got an if every Ingram comes back.

(20:34):
We gotta we gotta. We got a team. We got
a team of players around him. Now, if he could produce,
that's one thing. But I'm just taking a risk. I'm
you know me, I'm a gambler, man.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
I like the gam Yeah, it's it's a risky play.
Here's here's what I want to critique. I don't actually
hate the overall price. Depending on certain pieces and what
your team needed. You gotta be willing to sell big
names in Dynasty, especially to and and hit on a
couple of swings for the fences, right, Like you know,
if Pat Friarmuth was named Tucker Craft, you know what

(21:03):
I mean? Like in two weeks, like like, if you
had done this trade and it had been Tucker Craft
three weeks ago, people would have been like, are you nuts?

Speaker 1 (21:09):
Tucker Kraft?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
Who's Tucker Craft?

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Now?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
And people here he's a genius, right, We'll talk more
about him later. But my issue is the etiquette thing.
If you get multiple quotes, if you get multiple offers,
if that's what the going rate for Mahome is, then
that's what the going rate for Mahome is. I'm critiquing
that you didn't give me a call and go, here's
what I think I could sell mahomes for because that

(21:31):
just gives you options. Because I was.

Speaker 1 (21:33):
Waiting, because I was waiting for you for the big fish.
I'm I'm, I'm interested what you're gonna get, what you
willing to get for Josh Allen.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
You should not you should not trade Josh Allen right now.
I know he's very bad.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
I'm listen, listen, listen. I know, I know that in
the grand scheme of things, that shouldn't trade Josh Allen.
But I run my unit how I run my unit,
and I would like to see what I could get
for him right now. Out.

Speaker 2 (22:00):
We'll start with three firsts. Be happy to give you
three first, I get to pick. We'll negotiate the first.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Okay, what else?

Speaker 2 (22:08):
I'll start with three first?

Speaker 1 (22:10):
Okay? Does that get it done? Would three first get
it done? Just three first?

Speaker 2 (22:16):
Yeah? No.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
I like some of your players on your roster.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
That's surprising because I only have like two or three
of them.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
I know, I know, But there's a couple that I like.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
And what are the couple.

Speaker 1 (22:30):
I could give you names of the some of the
guys that I'm I have a know, I know who's
on my roster. There's not much, and so I know
it's basically gonna cut you, but it might be worth it.
Blake krn Benson, Trey Benson, Okay, JSN. And I know
your boy Pickens.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
You know what, man, I'm at a place. I've got
enough Pickings shares in enough places. He needs to get
his attitude figured out. He needs to stay on the
field because like he's so talented. Every time he gets
a chance to remotely catch a ball, and it's like
he's so good, He's so good his attitude is. It's
just not working with the Steelers right now. So I'd
be happy if it made sense. I'm more than willing

(23:17):
because I've got exposure of Pickens everywhere. And you know what,
as much as I love him, just like I would
tell my son, this is life is a performance based industry,
you know what I mean. And and Pickens doesn't get
a free pass because he made a cool catch one time.
I do still believe in him. He's still my guy.
I'm still believing it's gonna work out. But right now
he's got me a little ticked off. So you might
be catching me in a weak moment. But maybe maybe

(23:40):
that's what I need to get him off my roster.
Someone like, Oh, I don't know, Josh Allen, I'd be
I could. I could settle down so one for one,
George Pickens, Josh Allen, send it over. I'll sleep on it.

Speaker 1 (23:51):
Yeah, man, there you go. No, but that's uh, I mean, look,
I think we could work something out. Man.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
I'd be interested because I'd be happy to go into
next year with Josh Allen leading the squad and to
Bill elsewhere. Yeah, that would be it'd be nice. Uh, well,
we'll have to We'll have to come back to that.
But I was just for the record, I don't like
the trade. I actually do think Trevor Lawrence could be
a post type sleeper from last year. I think he
could find his form. I think my issue is the

(24:21):
Christian kirkap it all like that being the bonus piece
that like if it had been if it had been
Trevor Lawrence. And Brian Thomas, who's by the way wide
receiver seven overall in the year, and we have not
talked enough about him as an incredible rookie. I love
Keon Coleman. He's my dude. Brian Thomas is the wide
receiver three knocking on the door of wide receiver two
of this clap. Marvin Harrison Good has had some good showings,

(24:43):
but it's kind of like he has not passed the
eyeball test like Brian Thomas has and Malik Neighbors has.
So I'm very impressed by what I see from Brian Thomas.
But yeah, if that had been the name, I'd have
been like, this is a great deal for both parties,
Like it makes complete sense the Christian kirkab it and
and some of those other pieces like been Pat Fryarmuth.
Are we talking about Like he's a solid bench piece.
But are you excited to start him in two years?

Speaker 1 (25:05):
No, I'm not. No, I'm not excited to start him.
But I mean, what type nam a tight end? You're
excited to start Tucker Craft? Okay, you're excited to start him. Now,
let's see next week when he goes, i know, to
targets and zero, we'll talk. We'll talk about the tight
end position. That's one of the misterises we have. But
you know, here's the thing, and this is the greatest

(25:26):
part about Dynasty and Fantasy. Everything changes week to week.
Trevor Lawrence could have just like that that game could
have just propelled him and the Jaguars to a different
place than we've seen in the first four weeks. I'm
just saying Criticizings hasn't had a twenty point game in
a year, So.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
Let's just be let this be a lesson to every
Dynasty owner who takes this a serious. I am not
criticizing you trading away a big name for someone who's
you believe it is potentially undervalued. The entire point of Dynasty,
the entire way to win and is to believe on
players early, to be an early adopter. Right, My issue
is process. My issue is value check.

Speaker 1 (26:07):
It can't come to you.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
Yes, it's not about coming to me. Did you get
multiple did you get multiple quotes? Did you get multiple offers?
Are there quarterbacks you like more than Trevor Lawrence that
you think have more upside?

Speaker 1 (26:17):
There was no one willing to deal with me of
any quarterback that had more upside than Trevor Lawrence that
I was invested in.

Speaker 2 (26:25):
And then I can't critique it. Then I can't critique
it because if you didn't do due diligence, you did
your due diligence, you know that's just how that goes.

Speaker 1 (26:32):
I'm going to win now mode and Patrick Mahomes does not.
He might be best five years from now, but he
is not the guy who's winning.

Speaker 2 (26:38):
I just no, no, I understand that. But you remember
his floor. His floor right now is like a back
end quarterback one. And this is like, I don't know,
I just think it's a Bilow window for Mahomes everywhere.
I mean clearly. I mean like in Dynasty, You're never
not going to be able to resell him for King's
Ransom for the next five years. But maybe you might

(27:00):
be You might be right. I don't know for certain,
no one does. But here's three questions you and I
are going to try to have answers for and see
the future on because I need to know. And the
first one I want to stop off with. Here's what
I want to say. I was impressed by what I saw,
but I think there's been enough data to be concerned,
specifically about the franchise he represents. We are a Dynasty show.

(27:22):
We have talked about Kalla Williams a lot. We're not
done talking about him. Is Kayleb Williams another first overall
fantasy bust? I'm talking superflex. I'm talking to one on
one or is this has his struggles just been coordinator related?
I want to hear your argument, Thomas, what's your answer?

Speaker 1 (27:39):
Is coordinator related? Is the fact that, I mean, these
guys don't get reps like they used to. Man like
you come in. We talked about this a couple of
weeks ago. You come into the season and your first
preseason game is the first game of the year. You're
just getting reps with these players. You're just getting you know,

(28:00):
getting to know these uh, you know how the speed
of the game is. And once you realize and for me,
Caleb Williams is one of those guys that has been
able to do whatever he's wanted he wanted to do
on the football field up to now. And what's happening
is he is trying too hard to still be that

(28:21):
guy and he has to adjust. His coordinator sucks. The
dude sucks, but they don't he doesn't have block in either.
Like we have seen clips, and if you haven't seen clips,
it behooves you to go check it out. The Chicago
Bears offensive line is one of the worst offensive line, uh,

(28:43):
you know, the most effortless offensive line. I've seen they like,
they don't put forth any effort.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
They're lacking, lack of effort, lack of there you not
effortless speaks his leadership.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
Does that not work effort? Yeah, yeah, that didn't work,
but we'll cut that out. But I like it. Yeah, okay, cool,
I figured you would. No, but there's no effort in
their blocking. They sometimes allow people to just run right
past them. If you you got to watch the film,
you understand he is doing the best that he possibly

(29:21):
can with way he has right now, and he will
get better as time goes. In the last two weeks,
he's been really good. He's been great. No, I mean
against the last two weeks.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
It was two weeks against the against the Colts, and
against Carolina. He's been good.

Speaker 1 (29:36):
Against the Colts, he was efficient. He did not throw
a lot. No, I mean, are we looking for three
hundred yard games? Yes? Do we want to know?

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Against the Colts that's who, that's who he had three
hundred yards against.

Speaker 1 (29:48):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 2 (29:49):
Against the Rams he threw.

Speaker 1 (29:53):
Yeah, Panthers. Yeah, Rams, one of the bad secondaries. He
did not have to throw a lot against the Rams.
They ran the ball very effectively.

Speaker 2 (30:01):
Yeah, Unders had a game yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
So my point is, man, just give the guy a time.
It's not a great scheme for him. They'll probably get
another coordinator next year, but this is not going to
be a lost season. Caleb Williams will be good and
it will happen sooner rather than lea.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
I love the effortless slip up because, in fairness to you,
you correctly used. The English language just isn't a language
that correct, that has correct phonetic structure. It constantly breaks
its own rules. Some would say it's an unhealthy environment
for communication, and I think the Chicago Bears are an
unhealthy environment for Caleb Williams. Full stop. We are overreacting

(30:43):
to listen. I get he finished his quarterback six on
this last week, you know, twenty of twenty nine, three
h four and two, but against quite literally like what
is still one of the worst teams in the NFL,
who's missing their best defensive player Derek Brown and traded away.
There's other best defensive player Brian Burns to the Giants
start season. This is a trash team. This is a
team that is is like they're having trouble. Fillers say like,

(31:06):
let's not let's not overrect to who and to what
it is. Here's why I also believe he's a bus
because of the season Jayden Daniels is happening. It's always
in comparison to what in Superflex? Who did you take
ahead at the one oh one would you have taken
Did you take Jaden Daniels or did you take Caleb Williams? Right? Yeah,

(31:28):
you take Do you get what I'm saying? So the
issue we've I've said from the start, it's about expectations.
If Kayleb Williams was drafted for Fantasy even in the
middle of the first in Superflex or in the late
first and Superflex, if he didn't have Dj Moore, Keenan
Allen and Romadonese, I think that franchises would be a
lot happier. I'm not displeased with what I saw, But

(31:50):
if he's just a good quarterback and not an all pro,
is that not a bus based on the expectations he had.
I mean, this was a guy who wanted It was
rumored he wanted teams. He came into the NFL. Right,
it's a polarizing player for a reason, you know.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
But Josh, you know that's not fair. I for because
Jade Daniels, Okay, c J. Stroud, jayde Daniels, Andrew Luck
They're always a quarterback. I don't want to say in
every draft, but a couple of years go by, it
just so happens. We had two second overall picks two

(32:24):
years in a row that exceeded expectations. But look at
Bo Knicks, look at I mean JJ McCarthy's hurt. Derek
Drake Mays has been more.

Speaker 2 (32:35):
Bo Knicks has been more fantasy relevant than Caleb Williams
has this year with way worse weapons.

Speaker 1 (32:40):
Because he's been running a lot and a couple of
touchdowns yet done. You know, but do you think he's
a better quarterback in the NFL right now? You take
Bo Knicks? Would you take bow Knicks over Caleb Williams
if you started as a dynasty draft today.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Probably probably not. I would say I would definitely. I
would definitely Kayleb Williams. But once again, I was never
taking Caleb Williams at cost in the first place. And
that's the issue here is like, also, let's just keep
in mind he's played Houston, Indianapolis, the Rams, Carolina, and
now he's Jacksonville. That is the easiest stretch of games

(33:17):
like a quarterback can possibly have, Like if you're looking
on Sleeper at his game log that is as deep
green as you can see for like how juicy a
matchup is going to be. So I'm just I'm just
cautioning people, potentially, if you could sell high based on
this one performance, if you could get something similar to
what you would have gotten for the one oh one,
depending on where your franchise is at, I think you
should consider it. Because the other thing, and the thing

(33:39):
that's most important is while we agree he needs a
coordinator right that his issues are coordinator related, He's not
getting a new one this season right now. He is
not going to put together a quarterback one season this year,
full stop, anywhere close. He is going to be Yesterday's
news at the end of this season, and we're all
gonna be on you know, whether it's Sdar Sanders or

(34:00):
trying to think of who else could be the quarterback
one of this coming class. Quen you Weers, I don't
know who it's going to be, to be honest.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
With you, So man, I'm okay. So you saying that
based on five games sample size, you're saying that he
will be a forgotten man by the next year. So
get off of him right now.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
Not forgotten, but dude, we'll talk. We'll talk more about
other positions. But like there are certain players that never
be this is an issue. The problem with Caleb Williams
isn't who he is now. The problem with Caleb Williams
is what he was marketed as. I'm listen, I like,
really good stake. But if I pay for life changing WAGU,

(34:39):
if I pay WAGU prices for a decent rabbi, I'm pissed.
If I pay for a decent rabbi and I get
a decent rabbi, I'm a pretty happy guy, you know
what I mean. So here's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (34:50):
So here's a question. Okay, so let me allow me
to retort. What about Marvin Harrison? Why are you? Why
is it? Why is it? Why is the red flag
now being way for Marvin Harrison? Right? I think there's
a slight one good game, one really good game.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Who did he play the Rams?

Speaker 1 (35:07):
Yeah, he didn't have a really good game.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
He had an unbelievable game. He was still one at
the position. I get it. But also Marvin Harrison has
been more. He's first of all with wide receivers, you
expect volatility first and foremost. Secondly, he's he is having
a very good rookie season. I already gave Brian Thomas
his flowers. I think he's he's awesome. He's wide receiver

(35:32):
eighteen right now. Yeah, he was the wide receiver one
in Week two with three touchdowns, Wide receiver twenty, Wide
receiver twenty three, and then he had a down week
this last week where they were getting it done on
the ground. He already has four touchdowns on the season.
Marvin Harrison has shown me enough where I'm like, this
guy can develop and be special. It takes a really
good player to be able to score three touchdowns in
the receiving game against anybody.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
You know. I'd like to also, and I'm a big
Jen Daniels fan. You know, I went to LSU. I've
been on this and on this. I say that he
was gonna be fine even though everybody thought he was
physically gonna be beaten up all the time. Jayde and
Daniels first four games Tampa Bay, the Giants, Cincinnati, and Arizona.
Those are not tough defenses. Those are not hard defenses

(36:17):
to play. I'm just saying like, look, we got to
give some grace to the time frame and what situation
we're in. When you when you give grace to Marvin
Harrison and like say, okay, Marvin.

Speaker 2 (36:32):
Marvin Harrison is useful for your fantasy life.

Speaker 1 (36:35):
He had a donut game. One couldn't agree more and
everyone was thrown his way. He had one target or
something like that.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
So my point is that I will take the volatility
for a wide receiver who if he was the worst
wide receiver and then the best quite literally zero to
hero like number one overall. If he does that for eight,
you know, eight games, he's number one overall and eight
games he's zero, that's a rate fantasy season. That's a
fantastic fantasy season. Caleb Williams had a serviceable why does it?

(37:05):
You know, quarterbacks six six has nothing to shake a
sick ap. But it wasn't life changing numbers. Okay, it
was a good game against the worst defense in football.
That's what I'm saying. And there's still people like you
who are able to assign his value to what the
hype was. I'm just talking about value. I'm talking about
the price you pay for Caleb Williams. That's as far
as I want to go with my evaluation and right now,

(37:28):
if you can recoup the cost, I think you should.

Speaker 1 (37:30):
So when it comes down, So what it comes down
to is basically what you said earlier about Trevor Lawrence
and the whole Patrick Mahomes thing.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
Correct.

Speaker 1 (37:36):
If you believe in Caleb Williams' ability, which I do,
and I still believe he's going to be a legit quarterback.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
He might not legit fantasy QB though, yes, I believe so.

Speaker 1 (37:46):
I believe so. I believe he has the weapons. I
believe eventually it may not be this year. You may
be stuck with a quarterback too, a middleing quarterback.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
Too well, and in his rookie season, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (37:57):
That's fine. But I believe personally that he will become
a quarterback one in the near future and that he
has the weapons on his team like Roma Doonsda is
still a rookie. Keenan Allen has been in and out
of the lineup, like there are other things that play too.
He had no help from DeAndre Swift none for four games.

(38:18):
So that's tough on any rookie to not have that.
And on the reverse side, Jaydon Daniels had a great
running game, their RPOs were banned. Like from day one,
Brian Robinson has been a top five, top six running back.
So my point is, my argument is, if you believe

(38:39):
Caleb Williams, don't let these four games make you sell
him at a price that you are not comfortable with.
Because unlike the Patrick Mahomes thing, Patrick Mahomes hasn't had
a twenty point game in a year, Caleb Williams has
only had five games.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Trade for Dak Prescott in the first go go go,
trade for Dak Prescott in the first Go get Kyler
in multiple picks, Go move off of him. If his
hype can that there's no upside he can reach that
you can't replace in the aggregate, full stop. This guy
isn't gonna break fantasy anytime soon. Anytime soon. I'm talking
about fantasy. He could work out and be the best

(39:16):
quarterback the Bears have ever had for fantasy and for superflex,
even with that wide receiver board. Because of the head coach,
because of the coordinator, he is not going to do it.
That's okay. That doesn't mean I hate Caleb Williams and
just like him for the reasons, but that's just the math.
That's just I would buy Kayleb Williams at the right
price if someone was panicking and wanted to sell him
for like a single first in twenty six, I'd be like,

(39:39):
we might probably take that. That's a good that's a
good deal. But like the reality, we all have this issue.
This is a commentary on human nature and how we
value things. This is not a commentary on whether or
not he deserves to be rostered on an NFL team.
He absolutely does. He's got a live arm, he's all those,
all those I'm seeing the flashes, I am, but and
we have to move on. But like the reality is,

(40:00):
I don't see fantasy superstardom anywhere around the corner. I
don't see a catalyst for it. And so for me,
if I can go get a less desirable player with
better production and a pick that pick, I'll use that
pick to draft the next Hypeness next year. You know
what I mean, Because there's gonna be five game changing
players entering the NFL, probably ten when March rolls around.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
I tell you, I tell you what. This week they
got Jacksonville. That is a defense you can That is
a defense you can work. And if he has a
bad game, I will rethink that Caleb Williams thing.

Speaker 2 (40:35):
I would think you might be that point. I don't
believe hell sell now see if you can, uh yeah,
I don't know. Before we move off, this has just
become the debate of the night. That's we'll go quicker
than I know. It's good. But last year Quentin Johnson
I really believed in pre draft and he's a you know,
raw rookie kind of situation. I had seen enough when

(40:58):
he got the opportunity to start that I started to panic.
And then he caught a touchdown like the second week
or something, or like there was an injury that was
like it opened up the opportunity and I was able
to sell him for an incredibly high price for how
he finished the season. I got two. I traded him
and a worse first for two firsts, both of which
projected to be better, one of which being that year.

(41:20):
And it was one of the best trades I've ever done.
And what I did is I sold him based on, hey,
he's starting to trend up. The thing we needed to
happen for him happens now. And what I'm saying is
what happened last week against Carolina is not prescriptive for
the rest of the season. If it takes you playing
what I believe is the worst team in football, the
most broken team in football, that doesn't have its best

(41:41):
defensive player on the field for you to look fantasy relevant,
I'm selling that player, especially if I can get the
type of prices that you know he was already like
the quarterback like eight or something before ever playing a
snap on keep trade cut. If I can get close
to that price, if I can go get Trevor Lawrence,
a Chris y Kirk and a pick for Caleb Williams.
Right now, you wouldn't do that deal. You just trade

(42:02):
a Patter Mahomes for that. So it's based. It's if
you can get that type of value. That's all I'm saying.
That's all I'm saying. Moving on, Moving on the second
mystery I want solved because actually this is a great
discussion time. You know, I enjoyed that, but like, this
is what I'm excited to have because I went into
this year so excited about the tied end position. I

(42:24):
was like, it's wide open. We've got a lot of
relevant names. It turns out we have no relevant names.
Everyone outside of brock Bowers is not exciting to roster
for Dynasty. And even on brock Bowers side, brock Bowers
isn't super exciting because the Raiders look like the biggest
dumpster fire in the league. Outside of the Jets. They're tied, right,
So who is worth rostering in Dynasty? Is Tucker Craft

(42:46):
a real thing? Or is that like just a flash
in the pan that we should like? Who do you
want to roster in Dynasty outside of brock Powers?

Speaker 1 (42:58):
Man? Can I say nobody?

Speaker 2 (43:00):
I mean you have but you you play a tight
end premium leg Who would you be?

Speaker 1 (43:05):
You have to know, you know, man, because we had
such high expectations for the King, for King K's of
the world and Kyle Pitts, you know all of these people.

Speaker 3 (43:14):
And his best week sure, well the time out, the
man threw for five hundred yards, So I know, I know,
I'm a reserve.

Speaker 1 (43:25):
Like my my excitement for another week where he throws
for two fifty. But we'll see. But my point, like
I personally, I think that I think we should look
at tight ends the way we look at running backs
in Dynasty. I think you should go old. I think
go old and draft and wait for somebody else to

(43:48):
come up in like the titand landscape. What we have
right now, with the exception of ours, is a lot
of guys who should be good but aren't. Whether it's
because it's situations, whether it's because of you know, target share,
whether it's because they're just not as good as we
thought they were, They're not nobody. None of these tight

(44:09):
ends who we thought would be the number one target
on the team or top two are that. They just
are guys and if they're open or if the quarterback
is in trouble, it's like they're not planning for them.
But we have a couple of these older guys, like
the Travis Kelce's who is the number one receiver now

(44:29):
for Kansas City. I mean, you could say juju, but
we only saw that one game. So you know, we're
reserve rights again. And the Saints are tough on tight ends,
So maybe Travis Kelcey is the guy you want to get.
But I'm moving off of all of these young tight ends.
I'm honestly like moving off.

Speaker 2 (44:46):
Of sogain by whoever you can get cheap.

Speaker 1 (44:50):
Cheap tight ends, and I want to see, you know,
I need to see something before I go after somebody
that's not named Brock Bowls, because I'm not spending any
any of my precious picks or players on somebody who's
gonna give me eight points a week.

Speaker 2 (45:04):
I want to add to the question, do you think
what Tucker Craft has done is I don't want to
say sustainable because it's an unbelievable pace. But do you
think he's for real? Or is this ben is this
a weekly weird situation that you should avoid.

Speaker 1 (45:17):
He looks great. I think he's for real. What I
don't believe in is any Green Bay receiver having multiple
other than Jayden Reid, other than Jayden Reid, because I
have Jayden Reed, he's been balling. But other than Jayden Reed,
there's nobody on Green Bays receiving cord tight ends, anybody
that I believe will be a week to week guy

(45:39):
that will get you get it done, because there will
be weeks where they disappear. There'll be weeks where they
don't throw to the tight end, and you'll see a
lot of you know, if Romeo Dobbs come back, or
you know, don Tavian Wicks actually catch his passes, maybe
we don't see Tucker Craft have all of those touchdowns
if Dantavian Wicks could just hold on to a football.
So I will give Tucker Craft all of the credit

(46:03):
in the world. He looks amazing. Should you I would
sell high. I just don't trust tight end position right now.

Speaker 2 (46:10):
Yeah, if you can get if you can get Tucker
Craft and sell him for Dalton Kincaid, I think you
do it. And let me explain why. Josh Allen just
had his word getting Yeah, I'd still trust. So here's
what I would say. I would still chase the guys
who were drafted to be elite receiving weapons. You know,
Mark Andrews is not that anymore like he had that.

(46:31):
It seems like he's aged out of it and there's
multiple guys in that system stepping up, So like that's
a different situation. Dalton kin Kaid is getting the targets,
he's getting the design plays Josh Allen just had. I
don't know if it was the emotion of Stefan Digg's
the guy's in his head, I don't know, but he was.
That was the most inaccurate bad game I've ever seen
Josh Allen play in three years. It was terrible. Dalton

(46:51):
kin Kaid is still you know great. I still Josh
Allen's gonna have good games again. Dalton Kinkaid, I still
believe in to kind of figure it out. I'm not
trading Tucker Craft for Kyle Pitts, but if I can
get Kyle Pitts plus, you know, maybe because I want
to point this out about Kyle Pitts's performance, He had
a fifty yard catch before Kirk. It wasn't this wasn't
garbage time points that Kirk was giving Kyle Pitts. He

(47:15):
was part of the game plan early and and I
want to say often, but he was just all over
you know, he got lost in the mix of Darnold
movie catching a ton of passes too. Jake Ferguson, if
I could trade Tucker Draft, yeah no, no, for we do.
If I could trade Tucker Craft for George Kittle, which
you probably can't do. George Hill's been the most consistent
tight end this year.

Speaker 1 (47:34):
Yeah, he's always good. He actually him with Brod Bowers.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
Yeah, but he's older, you know, he's passed thirty. So
it's like that when's the bomb gonna go off? Yeah,
but like other than Jake Ferguson, Kincaid. You know, if
I could up is McBride an upgrade over Tucker Craft?
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (47:57):
McBride is one of the people we thought would be.

Speaker 2 (47:59):
Well yeah, and you could argue totally, and you could
you know, Sam Laporta, who was the tight end one
last year. Where is Laporta? Sam Laporta has died for
Dynasty values. So there's a couple names I'm willing to
go take the shot on. But if you have a
Tucker Craft, if you have I mean gosh Man and
Djok who's been injured. Like, there's just it went from

(48:22):
the most exciting the position has been in years to
a year where I wanted to lead it. To be honest,
it's just painful. It's painful right now. Listen, We're gonna
take a break, come back and finish the show with
the last question of the night. I need I need
time to grieve as I think through all these terrible
tight ends. Please stay tuned, Welcome back to the show, Thomas.

(48:47):
We're going to conclude with I think what is I
don't want to say it's the most important question because
that would be inaccurate, but I think it's the most
I think It's probably gonna be one of the biggest
questions going into the off season, Thomas, when startup draft
season rolls around next year. Obviously in super flys, we

(49:09):
recommend you go quarterback, wide receiver, some combination of the
two in the first two even three rounds. But eventually
you gotta you gotta take running backs right, Eventually you've
got if you're gonna win games. The running back position
is very important this year, especially running backs are scoring
an insane amount of points. But Thomas, Who's who's the
RB one for Dynasty right now? Because I don't know.

(49:31):
Bijeon was supposed to be a you know, a revelation
at the position. Kirk throws for five hundred yards, the
Falcons explode on offense, and Bijon is nowhere to be found.
He looks half decent. Brice Hall. Oh, they got a quarterback.
He's gonna have scoring opportunities, Braylen Allen. Plus the Jets
not being great on offense, I mean they're better, but

(49:53):
not great. He he looks he has a terrible game
this last week, And much of his Fantasy you last
season towards the end of the year was because he
was the only game in town catching fifteen checkdowns. That's
not happening. So that's concerning. Okay, so those two are
off the board. You go Jamior Gibbs, who I think
is the most consistent, but David Montgomery is a superstar

(50:14):
as well, you know, and then Christian McCaffrey is no
longer in the top four. Saquon has now moved to
RB four. But Saquon's twenty seven? How long? You know?
Where do we go? Thomas? And you know, similar to
tight Ends who you just talked about, you know, the
old guy's Alvin Kamara, Dereck Henry. How long? How much
longer are they around? And are you willing to keep
rerolling with them?

Speaker 1 (50:34):
You know?

Speaker 2 (50:35):
Come startup season next year.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
You know, I as you say that, I'm starting to
I'm starting to think more. And I told a friend
this the other day. We have to rethink this running
back age cliff thing. Now, we really have to rethink it.
It was a point in time I remember coming into
this season it was twenty six is the peak? Don't

(50:59):
get a running back after the twenty six years old? Man?
You got Jill Mixon running for one hundred and fifty
yards the first week. I mean, obviously he got hurt,
but you know Kenn Walker was hurt and he's six
four years younger than him. You know, you got Derek
Henry running over running like he's still twenty two, but
he's a freaking nature. Okay, he's a Hall of Famer,
I mean, he's All of Famer. But then you got

(51:20):
Sequon twenty seven, should have been past his age, Cliff,
he's playing out of his mind. We got so many
running backs who are doing this after this age that
we have, like all this analytical stuff that made us
think that Tony Pollock twenty seven doing it great job
this season. You know, these running backs now seem like

(51:42):
and they're getting contracts after the age clift. So it
seems as though the general managers are saying, Okay, we're
not gonna draft running back or we're not going to
spend high draft capital on running backs. But what we're
gonna do is re sign these guys, guys who what
twenty seven, twenty eight, twenty nine years old, even thirty,

(52:04):
and let them play until the wheels fall off, and
we'll sign them to contracts of like twenty million dollars
where we're not spending a boatload on them. But you've
drafted Bijehon's you draft the Gibbs, and to some degree
you got to say it, like, what is Bijhon better
than Tyler Aljier was before? And he was a fifth
round pick.

Speaker 2 (52:25):
I always disagreed with Atlanta drafting him, just to be
quite like, it made no sense. Then it wasn't a
position of need, and then they didn't. You're not using
him like a bell cow. So it's like, okay, well
then why why not get a different position of need
where you need it every down? You need your high
snap percentage, like it hasn't changed your offense.

Speaker 1 (52:44):
Uh no, it's so it's like, this, is it worth
it to do that? It doesn't seem like it because
you got Montgomery still balling at twenty six years old,
like running out of his mind. So I think we
have to like we have to reassess and say that
the age cliff thing is a mirage, like it doesn't
exist anymore. Because that's where gms are going. Gms are

(53:05):
saying we will pay these older running backs to run
the ball twenty times a game. Everybody I mentioned to
you is getting like eight fifteen to eighteen twenty touches.

Speaker 2 (53:14):
Yeah, it seems like the load. It's like GM's are like, oh,
I've got this stallion. I gotta make sure he's healthy
until he's twenty eight. And twenty eight is historically, you know,
twenty six is the prime so when they're at their best,
their peak value, and then age twenty eight is supposed
to be the age cliff. Right, we got James Connor
at twenty nine. You got you know, I don't think
Saquon's going to slow down next year. But here's what
I'll say, here's what I want to say as a
cautionary tail. Twenty seventeen. I think it's twenty seventeen, twenty sixteen.

(53:38):
You have the McCaffrey, Alvin Kamara, Derek he was Dereck
Henry in that draft class as well. I'm trying to
remember CMC.

Speaker 1 (53:45):
Was he a neckliff class?

Speaker 2 (53:47):
He was? I think he would No, I think it
was twenty seventeen because I think I think McCaffrey McCaffrey.
Did Henry go before McCaffrey a year early or something?

Speaker 1 (53:59):
I think he I think I think Henry was a
year before McCaffrey.

Speaker 2 (54:02):
Yeah, so he did. He went in twenty sixteen, and
then he was behind DeMarco Murray for a number of years.
I think we need to remember that Derek Henry didn't
come into the league and get the workload he's had.
He's got a ton of carries on him, no question.
He's already a super freak human, unbelievable, like just a specimen.
He takes incredible care of himself, ride it to the wheels, falloff,

(54:22):
you know, very simple. But like Alvin Kamara, same thing.
Alvin Kamaras had an unbelievable career, borderline Hall of fame, right,
you know Perennial pro bowler, great player, Joe Mixon, very
good player, not hall of fame. Like, these are really
really good players, and I do think we're going to
see all of them exit. Yeah, it can happen in
the blink of an eye. I think it's the middle
tier guys that like, where does Jonathan Taylor belong? Where

(54:45):
does Kenneth Walker belong? Where does Kyrin Williams belong? Right,
there's there's red flags with all of those guys. Kenneth
Walker doesn't catch the ball enough. Well, he did a
little bit last week with the offense, It's like well,
see Seattle looks solid now there's new coaching there. I'm
I'm I think Kenneth Walker's the biggest riser in dynasty
ranks of the middle tier guys, James Cook as well.
But what is Jonathan Taylor because he's been injured Anthony Richardson?

(55:06):
What's the future there? What do you do with Kyraen
who's probably the most consistent fantasy running back round. The
dude is is not you know, I think it's been
three hundred and three days since Kyraene Williams hasn't scored
a touchdown in an NFL game.

Speaker 1 (55:23):
Year.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
He's one number one, but Thomas, they just drafted Blake
korm and he's a sixth round pick.

Speaker 1 (55:30):
So what do you do? I man, you first, McVeigh.
McVeigh is the kind of guy obviously, like you see Whittington,
you see Pooka, you see you know Cooper Cup was
only a third round pick, but you could you know.
McVeigh is just like Kyle Shanahan. Forget them picks, forget
what I don't care. I will play you if you

(55:52):
just played my brand a ball and to you to
do so like you have to, you know, be understanding
and of like those type of situations are different from
you know, when we look at draft capital for any
other team, Like if you look at it for the Saints,
you're probably gonna like people still clamoring over Kendre Miller
or whatever like that because he was a third round

(56:14):
pick that he's probably a bust. It probably ain't gonna
happen for Kendrey. I hate to see that because, which
is he's never been healthy. He's just healthy.

Speaker 2 (56:21):
So it's number one, number one drafted, best ball player
in the big in the big ticket competitions. I was like,
this is a free I thought, I was, I should
have been Jordan Mason.

Speaker 1 (56:33):
We all thought and look at Jordan Mason man like,
I think what we have to just realize is like
certain teams and certain running backs are going to get
so much work and if they're good and then and
Kyrien Williams is a good one. Kenneth Walker is a
great back. I mean, jam watching Walker play all three
of them, I would love watching him play any day

(56:54):
of the week. They are great players. Kennith Walker is
amazing to watch. But you know, like you're gonna have
to pay for them. You're going to have to pay
for those guys. Those guys are not gonna come cheap
because they're young and their studs. The older guys you
might be able to get away with. So that's what
I was saying about the tight end position. I think
it's going away running backs. You want to get older

(57:16):
backs and then if you want to draft your younger backs,
because Kenneth Walker is gonna cost you a lot. I
had traded Kenneth Walker in the off season for Stefan
Diggs in a first round pick in twenty twenty five.
Mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (57:30):
I remember I was actually there. I was playing golf
with the owner that was trying to trade with you,
and I liked.

Speaker 1 (57:35):
It for him.

Speaker 2 (57:35):
I did.

Speaker 1 (57:36):
But yeah, that's what I'm saying, being pretty good.

Speaker 2 (57:39):
For both Gus and people need to remember Kenneth Walker
was like RB fourteen, RB fifteen in Best Ball. He
was like barely a top ten dynasty back at the time.
It wasn't it was like, well, Charbonne's still there and
we don't know how they're gonna run the ball. Kenneth
Walker is special with the ball in his hands. I
if I had to rank him, just real quick off
the cup, off the cuff, for Dynasty, I would go

(57:59):
Jami nonumber one. I'm trying to be bold here. I
still have a lot of belief in Bejeon. It feels
so safe, you know what I mean. So I think
I'd probably go Bijon. Then I'd go Ken Walker, then
I'd go Breeze at the four. At five, I go
James Cook. Potentially i'd make o Kyron there the upside

(58:22):
of kyrone, but like it's just muddy man like Jonathan
Taylor's back of the back of the tenth Saquon, I
could easily see his top five, like I can't make
you know. To be honest, I could reorder that. Those
guys are just named. I could reorder them anyway other
than Jonathan Tailor could be the number one. But like
if someone said Saque's number one Dynasty back, I'd be like, yeah,
that makes sense. If you're under twenty eight and you're

(58:44):
and you're producing in an elite level and you don't
have a crazy injury or an injury history, you know what,
happy to have you, you know, and just count your
lucky stars and load up on guys like Rico Doudell
and load up on guys like you know Jerome four
or Jordan Mason in the off season, because you may
get lucky and not simply just get a handcuff, but

(59:05):
get someone that that moves into your starting roster week
after week. Thomas, it's been a blast, so many unanswered questions,
so many questions we're gonna still be asking. I'm looking
forward to next week's reacting to Week six. There's some
juicy matchups, but that's all the time we got for tonight.
I've I've got to start thinking for some trades on
how I can seal Josh Allen from your roster. We'll

(59:28):
see you guys next week.
