Speaker 2 (00:47):
Who know, we need to get out of here.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Now.

Speaker 4 (00:52):
That almost sounds like a bunch of snakes. They've got
a weird metallic sound of them. Wouldn't that be crazy
if there are a bunch of metal snakes, petya, Can
you imagine that?

Speaker 5 (01:03):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (01:04):
I can absolutely imagine that.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
You know, I really don't like it down here anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Come on, the steel snakes will get here any minute,
and we don't want to be here when they do.

Speaker 6 (01:17):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
At some point, you'd think I would stop being surprised
at all the animals down there that were trying to
eat us, but that wasn't gonna happen anytime soon. Metal snakes,
can you believe it? Or steel snakes, as Petrick called them.
She hadn't mentioned if they were big or not, but
seeing as how basically every animal I had come across
down there was ginormous, I was just going to assume

(01:41):
they were big enough to swallow old miles without having
to chew. So, just like every other day down there,
we started running. Unfortunately, when you're in the Valley of Echoes,
it's really easy to get lost.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
If you take a wrong turn.

Speaker 4 (01:57):
All the mountains look the same, and we couldn't exactly
stop and try to look for landmarks with the snakes
right behind us. But as we are running, I had
an idea. Okay, can I be honest with you, I
had a brilliant idea. Like when I think back on it,
I'm kind of surprised at myself because this idea came
to me while I was running scared, and if you've

(02:18):
ever tried to think, well, you're running for your life,
you know it is not easy. The problem was I
didn't really have time to stop and explain it to
pet or Pack, so if it went wrong, I was
on my own, and even though it was a brilliant idea,
I really didn't know if it would actually work.

Speaker 6 (02:35):
Come on, come on, you're gaining on us.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
How much farther into we're out of the mountains.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
Yeah, I'm not sure. I think we took a wrong
turn somewhere. No, pass, You won't be able to do
anything against steel snakes, don't you dare go try to
buy some time for us?

Speaker 3 (02:53):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (02:54):
Oh, oh, I have an idea. Are these like normal stakes?

Speaker 3 (02:58):
Have you been with?

Speaker 7 (03:00):
Then?

Speaker 2 (03:00):
They're made of steel?

Speaker 5 (03:03):
No?

Speaker 3 (03:03):
I mean, like, never mind, I think this work.

Speaker 5 (03:09):
Smiles, What are you doing? They're right behind us.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Trust me, I'm going to take this metal rock and
scrape it against these mountains. That's not going to.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
They stopped.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
I don't understand.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
You scared them off?

Speaker 3 (03:42):
How I don't get it. It's this sound.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
The snakes don't hear the same way humans do. They
have inner ears instead of the ears on the outside
like us, and that means they're really good at hearing
noises that vibrate through the ground instead of vibrate through
the air. I had a hunt that if I made
a really loud sound to the metal ground here, they
wouldn't like it.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
You had a hunch.

Speaker 6 (04:08):
You risked our lives on a hunch.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
Hey, it worked, didn't it.

Speaker 8 (04:15):
Okay, okay, fine, good job, I guess Okay, sorry for
snapping at you, Miles. That was a really good idea
you had, and you probably saved our lives. So thank you.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
Oh you're welcome. Glad I could help.

Speaker 4 (04:34):
Now, can we please get out of this valley?

Speaker 5 (04:38):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (04:40):
Just give me a second to figure out where we are,
and we'll start taking the shortest path we can to
get out of here.

Speaker 4 (04:47):
I wasn't sure what surprised me more, the fact that
my idea worked and saved our lives or the fact
that Petra admitted it and apologized to me.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
I was almost starting to wonder if she liked having
me around.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
As impossible as that sound, it didn't take her long
to figure out where we were, and after a few
more hours of walking, we finally got out of the
valley of Echos. That was easily the creepiest place I
had been so far, so I was glad to be
out of there.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
Next stop the unending Abyss. Right.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Unfortunately, I was about to find out that the Abyss
was way way worse than the value of echos. But
before I tell you about that, let's catch up on
what Globotech was doing. I found out later Drake had
been making his way to Globotech headquarters while Petra and
I journeyed towards the Forbidden Shungle. Agent eleven was going
back to headquarters too, to report to Vectra.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
Miss Shide, Why has anyone seen Miss Shade? I need
to talk to her. It's urgent.

Speaker 7 (05:45):
Hold it, Agent fifteen. Miss Shade is busy at the moment.
You can talk to me.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
Agent eleven. Seriously, why do you insist on cooling all
of us behind numbers? You know I'm a nine is strike.

Speaker 7 (05:59):
I will call you whatever I want, seeing as how
I'm in charge, and you will call me Agent eleven
or sir.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
Fine, sir? When will Miss Shade be available?

Speaker 7 (06:11):
I told you if you have anything to report, you
can report it to me.

Speaker 5 (06:16):
I want to know what's going on down here. Miss
Shide said we were going to mind for Soli diamonds
and capture a dangerous population of scarlet spot a cheatis.
But what But I don't think they're actually dangerous. I'm
starting to wonder if we should just clear out of
here and leave this place alone.

Speaker 7 (06:33):
I see clearly you've forgotten. You're under orders to do
as you're told, not as you think.

Speaker 5 (06:40):
What listen on me trying to understand.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
That's not part of your job either.

Speaker 7 (06:45):
You're starting to concern me, Agent fifteen, And when I
get concerned, I fix things. If you don't want that
to happen, I suggest you turn around, get back out there,
find that brat miles, get him to his parents, and
make sure they leave here for good.

Speaker 6 (07:04):
Do you understand me?

Speaker 5 (07:06):
Yes?

Speaker 6 (07:06):
Yes? What?

Speaker 5 (07:09):
Yes? Sir? Eighteen eleven? I understand you perfectly.

Speaker 6 (07:13):
Good dismissed.

Speaker 7 (07:15):
I expect to report from you in no less than
three days.

Speaker 6 (07:26):
What is it, maschade, ma'am. We may have a problem
only one.

Speaker 7 (07:32):
Huh, Well, this one might be more serious.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
It's about Agent fifteen.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
Drake Blackwood. What about him?

Speaker 7 (07:41):
I do not believe he is fully loyal to Globo
Tech and the mission.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
Oh what makes you think that.

Speaker 7 (07:49):
He believes the cheetah population is not a threat and
has suggested we vacate the area.

Speaker 3 (07:56):
What?

Speaker 5 (07:57):
What do you know why he believes?

Speaker 6 (08:00):
Yes, ma'am.

Speaker 7 (08:01):
When he made his report over the radio, he told
me about his interactions with the cheetahs while escorting the
boy to his parents. He claims they're peaceful creatures.

Speaker 5 (08:11):
Oh no, what have we done.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
So this abyss? Is it really unending?

Speaker 8 (08:23):
As far as I know, no one's ever seen the
bottom of it.

Speaker 4 (08:26):
Wow, that's kind of cool. I thing we could try
and get a look down there while we walk around it.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Absolutely not.

Speaker 8 (08:35):
We're not getting anywhere near the abyss once we find it.
We're walking around it and staying well clear of the edge.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Are you scared of heights or something?

Speaker 2 (08:46):
No, geez, it has nothing to do with that.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
So then what is it?

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Do you ever stop asking questions?

Speaker 4 (08:54):
Just trying to maake conversation and learn about the things
down here while I can? Don't you think it's a
good idea for me to know as much as possible?

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Was that another question?

Speaker 5 (09:04):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (09:04):
Come on, seriously, I guess you're right we.

Speaker 8 (09:09):
Don't need to go near the abyss because it's dangerous.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Well, yeah, I mean falling down there would be pretty bad.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
No, it's not that.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Then what is it? You almost look afraid to talk
about it?

Speaker 1 (09:21):
It just.

Speaker 5 (09:23):
Look.

Speaker 8 (09:24):
All you need to know is it's very very dangerous.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
There are.

Speaker 8 (09:31):
Things that live in the abyss.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
Oh, that doesn't sound good.

Speaker 8 (09:36):
What kind of things no one's ever gotten close enough
to see and make it back out?

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Hey Petra, let's not get close to the abyss. Okay,
