Right then, she hadn't trusted me enough to tell me
the truth, so I didn't see any point in trusting her.
Not only had that happened, we had found my mom
and she was okay.

I guess I hadn't realized.

How worried i'd been about my parents for a while,
but Singer definitely took a weight off my chest. Only
since she was by herself, it made me even more
worried about my dad, So me, my mom, Petra, and
Pax set off following the river some more. I wasn't
too happy to have Petra long after she lied, but

she did seem to know where she was going better
than I did, so I decided I would just have
to be okay with her being there, and I am
so so so glad.

I did Dad, Dad? Are you out there?

Miles?

I'm sure we'll find him, but I don't think it's
a good idea for us to keep shouting. From what
you kids told me, this forbidden jungle is extremely dangerous.

Not to mention Globo Tech d Oh what was his name?

Speaker 7 (02:25):
Nactus?

Speaker 6 (02:26):
Yes, Noctus. Not to mention Globo Tech and this Noctus
creature are.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
No doubt looking for us.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
I guess you're right. I'm just worried about.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
It, I know, but we've all found each other, and
your dad won't be far behind.

Speaker 7 (02:42):

I didn't ask you, Miles, don't be rude.

I don't want to be. But she earned it. She's
been lying to me for weeks about who she really is.

We should be able to see at any minute. We're
in the thickest part of the jungle, though, I.

Miles is a very forgiving person.

I think the only reason he's so upset is because
he really trusted you.

All the time, I had no idea something like this
existed in the Lost World.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Pax, did you know about this? What did he say?

Speaker 3 (05:23):
Uh? He said he's heard rumors of an ancient structure
deep in the Forbidden Jungle, but he never believed them.

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Miles, you you can speak the lion's language. Oh yeah,
I still feel like I might be dreaming and could
wake up at any minute.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Come on, I have a feeling that there's something in
there that's going to help us.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
What exactly do you think might be in there?

Speaker 4 (05:48):
We don't know.

Speaker 7 (05:49):
The coin didn't really give us any hints, but it
just made this place look so important.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
Here, see for yourself, there's no Aisle's the coin.

Speaker 6 (06:01):

Speaker 2 (06:02):
What did you drop it?

Speaker 4 (06:04):
I don't think so.

Speaker 7 (06:06):
Maybe I guess it could have fallen out. Well. We
were dealing with Age and eleven and the night wolves.
So there's a chance there's a chance Agent eleven found
the coin, and if he did, Globotech might know about
this place.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
As is right, got no time to lose.

Speaker 7 (06:43):
Oh what in the name of the Lost World is that?

Speaker 3 (06:51):
Would it be mean if I stopped the story right here? Okay,
I won't, then, trust me. I love telling this part
because what we saw was the single most awesome thing
I've ever seen. He'd walked into this really really huge chamber.

(07:11):
I mean, you could have fit like ten of my
houses in there. It was absolutely massive. There were giant
stone columns, little ponds full of what looked like glowing water,
and there were some kind of ancient riding along the
walls from us way across from us. But I only

(07:31):
noticed all that stuff after about five minutes of being
in the temple because I couldn't stop staring at the
first thing I noticed. Remember when I told you about
the solar diamonds, sparkly glowy gems. There were a few
of them in the Scarlet spotted Cheetah layer. And those
solar diamonds weren't on the main reasons Globetec had come
to the Lost World, because they're really valuable and they

(07:52):
hold tons of energy. Well, when we entered that central
chamber in the temple, there were these really big own
steps that went up into kind of a platform in
the middle of the room. On that platform there was
this big stone cup, almost like a kind of cradle,
and sitting in that cradle was an absolutely humungoid solar diamond. Seriously,

(08:18):
most of the solar diamonds we had seen were the
size of like golf balls. I'd seen a few that
are like baseball size or so this one, sitting on
a temple was the size of a car. I still
remember just standing there and staring at it for a
couple of minutes. None of us could talk, Not even
past was making a sound. Remember when I said I

(08:40):
felt like there might be something in the temple that
could help us, I was right. But at the same time,
it turned out there were also some things in the
temple that were incredibly dangerous.

Speaker 7 (08:52):
I can't believe what I'm seeing in.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Neither at absolutely positively has to be the single biggest
solar diamond in existence.

Speaker 6 (09:06):
What you mean to tell me that is a solar diamond.
I didn't picture them being that big.

Speaker 4 (09:14):
They're not.

Speaker 7 (09:15):
That one is thousands of times bigger than most of
the ones I've ever seen.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
It's also a little darker than I pictured them.

Speaker 6 (09:23):
Your father always said they would glow with a bright light.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
They do. This one looks a little dark. I wonder
what it's doing here.

Speaker 7 (09:37):
There's something special about this place.

Speaker 4 (09:39):
Look around.

Speaker 7 (09:41):
There's glowing ponds, there are sculptures, there's art on the walls.
There's writing back there on that wall.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
This place isn't just some building. It's important. Can you
feel it?

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Yeah? Really important? But for what?

Speaker 4 (09:59):
Kid?

Speaker 6 (10:00):
Look up there in front of that diamond. Is that
some kind of table?

Speaker 4 (10:07):
It is?

Speaker 7 (10:09):
There are a bunch of switches here. See these stone squares.
I think maybe they can be pushed in like buttons.
Maybe they do something with the solar diamond.

Speaker 6 (10:19):
No, absolutely not.

Speaker 5 (10:22):
We have no idea what these buttons might do or
what this diamond's purpose is.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
I know, Mom, but we don't have time to try
and figure out things the hard way. Unless do either
of you know what the riding says on the wall
back there? No hacks. Riding would probably give us a clue,
but none of us know what it means. And stat

(10:49):
is missing, and Globotech might already be on their way here.
I think the best thing we can do is just
press one button at a time and cross our fingers.

Speaker 7 (10:57):
I think he's right. We don't have time to sit here.

Speaker 6 (11:01):
Oh. I still don't think this is a good idea.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
But you two have been down here far longer than me,
and you've taken care of yourself so far.

Speaker 6 (11:11):
Fine, we'll try it, but everyone be ready. Who knows
what could happen?

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Right, Okay, I'll press this one in the middle first.
Why that one just feeling? See this weird impression right
above it? It kind of looks like a eight sided circle,
the one in between all those other holes.

Speaker 6 (11:32):
Yes, it's an octagon. What about it?

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Well, I see that same shape of there in the wall.
I think the writing on that wall and this button
might have something to do.

Speaker 2 (11:41):
With each other.
