And now I think it's time to get back to
the show.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
You know, I was getting a little tired of trials
enough already, right And like I'd said, the Trial strength
and the Trial of Knowledge both took plenty of bravery.
So I was a little worried about what we find
in the Trial of Heart. I'd rescue a scarlet's bought
a cheetah, I'd fought a scallipede, I dodged crocsars, dealt

(01:07):
with lobotech agents, come up against the Iron Hawk, steal snakes,
and all kinds of.

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Crazy things, not to mention Knoxus in the Night Balls.
But the Trial of Heart.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
That was something I didn't expect, and inside we found
something that made me really truly afraid. Okay, another room
that looks kind of plain.

Speaker 3 (01:36):
Is that? Is that some kind of pool in the middle?

Speaker 4 (01:42):
Definitely? Wow, it looks pretty deep.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
Goodness, it's so clear. I can see something down there
at the bottom.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
What is that?

Speaker 4 (01:54):
I'm not sure. It looks kind of like it's glowing.

Speaker 5 (01:58):
Whatever it is.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Oh way, it can't be what what did he say?

Speaker 4 (02:06):
He said, it looks like a button, you know, like
the big square buttons we've been stepping on to open
each door at the end of the trials. Pack said,
that's what it looks like to him.

Speaker 5 (02:21):
Oh no, I think he might be right, But.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah, but it looks so small.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
If that's the same kind of button we've been pushing
each time and it looks that tiny.

Speaker 4 (02:33):
Then that pool is way way deeper than it looks.
There's no way any of us can swim that deep.
Depress it.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
I can't tell you how crazy it looked to see
the bottom of that pool and realize how deep it
actually was. The stone buttons we had been stepping on
were pretty big, like the size of a pizza box.

Speaker 3 (02:53):
But from where we were standing.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
This one looked way smaller, like a little square napkin.
That pool had to be at least as deep as
a football field as long and Petro was right, there
was no way any of us could swim anywhere close
to that deep. Not to mention I well, you might
remember I don't do well swimming in water where I

(03:17):
can't see.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
And even though that.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Water was super clear, which is why we could see
the button down at the bottom, he was also incredibly dark.
We could only see the button because it was lit
up way down there. Everything else looked pitch black, and
that didn't even matter, because no one could possibly hold
their breath long enough to swim that far and come
back up.

Speaker 3 (03:38):
At least that's what we thought.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
I just can't believe the pool could be that deep.
Maybe our eyes are playing tricks on us.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
I don't think so. PAX's eyesight is a bit better
than ours, and he feels pretty sure that's definitely a button.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Do you think maybe we could drop a big rock
from here and make it land on the button way
down there?

Speaker 5 (04:01):
We could try, I suppose, but so far the buttons
have needed someone standing on the mit in order to open,
so it would have to be a very heavy rock,
and it would take a lot of luck for us
to land the rock on the button. But I don't
suppose we have a choice. It's the only plan we've got.

(04:21):
Let's all start looking around. It needs to be a
rock heavy enough to hopefully push the button, but not
so heavy that we can't throw it in the center
of the pool.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Okay, okay, come on, packs, let's take over that way.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Do you really think this will work?

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Mom?

Speaker 5 (04:41):
Honestly, honey, I don't. Whoever designed these trials has made
it pretty clear each time how we're supposed to beat them,
and finding a rock to drop on that button just
doesn't feel like it's the solution to me. But you
could be right. There's no reason we shouldn't give your
idea try.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
That's if we even get to try my idea.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
I don't see any decent rocks around here, just a
few small pebbles here and there.

Speaker 5 (05:09):
I was afraid of that. I think whoever designed this
didn't even want us to try an idea like this.

Speaker 3 (05:16):
What makes you think that?

Speaker 5 (05:18):
Because dropping a rock wouldn't take any bravery, but swimming
all the way down there sure would.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
I would take bravery and scuba diving gear. No one
can swim that deep without help.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
Uh God, I've got some news.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Uh good or bad?

Speaker 2 (05:36):
I think bol.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Come look at this.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Let's start with the good news. Did you figure out
a way to push that button down there? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (05:49):
I'm pretty sure we know what to do.

Speaker 5 (05:52):
So what's the bad news?

Speaker 2 (05:55):
That that's a cream clok grape?

Speaker 4 (05:58):
Yeah, we found I'm the vine poking up from the ground.
The grape was underneath some pebbles, so it was kind
of hard to see.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
So that bad news is we're gonna have to use
that grape to go down there ourselves and push the button, aren't.

Speaker 4 (06:11):
We That's what I'm thinking.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
And I don't suppose you are. Packs know what green
glow grapes do.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Nope, not a single clue. So how are we going
to decide who eats the glow grape? It has to
be one of us because lions aren't the best swimmers.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
Well, it's true, it's going to be me. This is dangerous.
I don't want you kids trying to swim down there.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Uh mom, no offense, But you're not the best swimmer either.
What if the grapes' effects don't last very long? There's
only one grape, we should make sure we give ourselves
the best chance of pushing the button.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
I suppose you're right, so it's either me or you, Miles.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
I'll do it.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
But you told me you don't like swimming in water
where you can't see very well. It's so dark down there.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I I know, but I'll be okay. I'm pretty sure
everything will be fine.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Miles.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
You don't have to be brave right now?

Speaker 3 (07:15):
What do you mean?

Speaker 4 (07:17):
I mean, you've been so brave these past few weeks,
helping us fight Globotech and roughing it down here in
the Lost World, and you even let me stay after
you found out I didn't tell you the truth about
Vector Shade being my aunt. I'm saying you don't have
to be brave on this one. Dark water doesn't bother me.

(07:38):
Let me swim down there.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
You're really willing to do that?

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Yeah, we're in this together. Besides, everyone has gotten to
try a glow grape except me. Seems only right that
it's my turn.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
Okay, Petra. We don't know exactly what the grape is
going to do, but once we figure it out, you've
got to get down there as fast as you can. Miles,
and I will wait here watching you. If something goes wrong,
wave your arms. Hopefully we'll be able to see you
if you're between us and the glow from the button.
If we do, Miles will jump in and try to

(08:13):
come get you if you're not too deep. Okay, got it?

Speaker 4 (08:17):
Oh, don't worry, packs, I'll be okay, all right. Here
goes the glow grape.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (08:28):
Trush nor crayer girl. Kind of salty, almost like seawater.
Not the best thing I've ever tasted?

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Whoa?

Speaker 3 (08:41):
What? What's going on?

Speaker 4 (08:42):
My lungs? They feel? They feel really big and strong.
I feel like I could hold my bread for a
super long time.

Speaker 3 (08:53):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (08:54):
The grape must let you hold your breath long enough
to swim down there to the button and back.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Go.

Speaker 2 (09:00):
Oh good, can't waste any time, got it?

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Be right back?

Speaker 5 (09:09):
Wow, look at her go. She is a good swimmer.

Speaker 3 (09:13):
Hey, mom, I just thought of something. What is it
you said?

Speaker 2 (09:18):
The buttons take a good bit of weight for things
to push them down. But whenever I'm swimming, I notice
I don't weigh as much as I usually do. Won't
Petra be pretty light when she's underwater?

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Oh?

Speaker 5 (09:30):
No, if she's not heavy enough, this won't work.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
And it sounds like that might not be our only problem.

Speaker 3 (09:44):
Can you believe it?

Speaker 2 (09:45):
If it wasn't bad enough that we figured out too
late that Petro might not be heavy enough to press
the button. But then all these things came crawling out
of the walls as soon as Petro went under. They
were like really long eels with feet. There must have
been at least ten of them. They headed straight for
the water. I guess that whoever had built the trial

(10:06):
left these things down there so they could go after
someone when they swam them under, to try and make
things a little more dangerous. Think swimming down into a
blackpool of death is dangerous enough, don't you. But when
those things came out of the walls, thinks got a
lot more serious.

Speaker 3 (10:22):
It was up to us to protect Petra.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Oh great, uh, mom, packs, We've got to keep those
things from getting in the water. If they go after Petra,
she won't stand a chance down there.

Speaker 5 (10:40):
Try and grab them by their tails, Miles. We don't
have to stop them forever. We just have to keep
them out of water long enough for Petra to get
back up here.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Oh no, you don't get back here. Yeah, ah, Hey,
all right, you want to play like that, then let's
see how you like this.

Speaker 5 (11:12):
Oh nice throw miles. That one won't bother us again
for a few minutes. I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
Wow, good kick. I think you knocked it out.

Speaker 5 (11:29):
Oh no, one of them got past us. It's swimming
down after her.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
There goes another one.

Speaker 5 (11:35):
We can't do anything about those two. Just try to
keep the rest from getting in.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
Bags. The door it's opening.

Speaker 5 (11:46):
Yes, Petra must have pushed the button.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
The eels they're leaving, even the ones that got past
us are going back to where they came from.

Speaker 5 (11:57):
It must be because the door opened. Once that happens,
they must stop attacking. Oh thank goodness, it looks like
Petra saved herself.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
Petra, Oh, actually, wasn't that bad. At first. I couldn't
even press the button down, But there was already a
heavy rock down there, and once I picked it up,
I was heavy enough to press the button. You all
look a little scared. Did I miss something?

Speaker 3 (12:28):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (12:29):
Well, we'll tell you later.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Come on, the door's open.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Let's go see what's on the other side.
