Speaker 1 (00:07):
Colin Coward unloads a take on allegedly and assumed first
year Minnesota Viking starter J J. McCarthy and the Minnesota

he is an opinion extraordinary because he has an ability
to rile up fan bases and really get them going

(02:25):
with a take. And there's a few things that we
need to really discuss before we really dive into it.
The first thing is when Colin was delivering his take
on top of the bar, it says report, and I'll

(02:46):
share the screen with you so you can see it.
Let's see here, share screen boil bank. It says, report
McCarthy throws interception for third string practice And I see that,
and I'm like, I have not seen that anywhere Where

(03:10):
is this information coming from? Because there are specific Minnesota
Vikings insiders that I personally rely on to receive information
from Ben Gasling or The Star Tribune, Kevin Seyffert a

(03:32):
ESPN Alec Lewis of the Athletic. Those are the top
three head honchos of Minnesota Vikings insiders, and I surfed
across their twitters, their websites. I looked for this information
and I didn't see it anywhere. So I'm like, first
of all, where is this information coming from? So I

(03:56):
did some more investigative work and I looked at some
other insiders within the Vikings and I couldn't find anything anywhere.
And then I stumbled across Vikings fan page. It says
Jajon McCarthy threw an interception for a third straight day
opened to reporters, this one going to Viron Murphy Jr.

(04:21):
And then he later on writes in the same tweet,
McCarthy bounced back from the mistake with several solid throws
highlighted by a deep touchdown pass to Jordan Hannison. And
the Vikings fan page underneath the tweet credits Will Reggitts

(04:45):
of Bring Me the News Sports on SI. So that's
where the information came from. Will Raggitts wrote an article
his Takeaways from Minnesota Vikings, and he included that McCarthy
threw his interception for a third straight day, and that's

(05:09):
where the original report came from that Calin Coward ran with. So,
now that we have all of that figured out, one
coward did not just make up a report. I responded
to the tweet and I said, I am genuinely curious
where did you get this report from? Because I have

(05:32):
not seen this report anywhere? And someone replied to me
he said, he doesn't he lies for attention in an orcs. Well,
he didn't lie. It's very clear lee coming from Will
Reggitts of Bring me the Sports, of Bring me the News,
and that's where he's getting this report from. From someone

(05:52):
that found the report, sent it out on Twitter, and
then Coward found it and ran with it. It's a
legitimate story because an insider within the Minnesota Vikings reported
the story. It wasn't one of the top three the

(06:14):
Seafferts or Alec Lewis's or Ben Gesling's, but an insider
reported the story. So it is legitimate. Okay, now that
that's across the way. His actual take on Jaj McCarthy
and I'll share the screen with you here It says.

(06:36):
It says this, there's so much mystery here, and this
is actually written by Will Raggetts, the original reporter of
the report, and now he's just quoting Coward. There's so
much mystery here. Coward said, why does Minnesota keep flirting
with other quarterbacks? And there's too many conflicting reports on McCarthy.

(06:57):
There's a lot of stuff. I just don't know. I
feel sometimes there's a little bit of a spin job here.
He continues to be a great franchise quarterback. There has
to be a wow trait. Let's just go through them.
Mahomes arm, talent, Alan's sheer, force of size, Lamar athletic ability,

(07:18):
Stafford has one of the great arms in the last
thirty years in the league. Burrow composure and accuracy, Herbert big, strong,
powerful arm. CJ. Stroud, accuracy, hurts, strength pound for pound,
Kyler Murray elusiveness. You start stacking up these quarterbacks, there's
a trait. Go back and look at the people I trust.

(07:40):
I never buy when you say this about a quarterback,
that guy is a winner. Everybody under Jim Harbaugh and
Nick Saban and Steve Spury's a winner. I don't want
to hear that. If you go back and look at
his arm, it's modest. His escapability is monest. His release
wasn't super quick. There is no great trade. That's why

(08:02):
I was always a Donald fan. Donald is tough with
a big arm. He can be reckless, but there are
times you watch Donald his ability to make big throws
while moving his special I don't get McCarthy's wow trade.
I don't see the wow. I look at that take
from Coward and there is not much to disagree with.

(08:29):
Where is the wow in McCarthy's game compared to the
other great quarterbacks in the league and his take on
Nick Saban, Jim Harbaugh, Steve Spurer. That is what hundred
percent trough. The moment someone loses me and a McCarthy

(08:56):
discussion is when they point to his high school record
where you lost like one football game, and when they
point to a national championship and say the dude is
a winner all my word. Do not get me started
on that load of bullshit, because you could look across

(09:21):
most NFL players that are good and that suck, and
you don't think a large majority of them had great
high school records. They're the best football player in their state,
or in their conference, in their section. So all of

(09:42):
these players win high school football games. And you look
across the players that play in the NFL, Alabama's and
the Michigans and Texas's, and these are big programs. These
guys win football games, and these are the guys that
are a majority playing in the NFL. So you lose

(10:03):
me on the winner. I completely, one hundred percent agree
with Coward's take on that one, and I have been
outspoken about that for months. McCarthy's the winner, really, that's
what you're coming with. What about Mac Jones, What about

(10:24):
all of the other great collegiate quarterbacks under Nick saban police,
Give me a break on that one. But his biggest
I think knock on McCarthy cowards that is comes when
he compares him to other quarterbacks in the NFL, the

(10:45):
Burrows and Mahomes's and Stafford's. And when you look at
McCarthy's wild strait, it isn't going to be his arm
talent like Mahomes or his size like Josh Allen, but
it is going to be if it exists, is going
to be like Joe Burrow. If McCarthy has the wow

(11:09):
trait that Coward is talking about. His wow trait is
going to be his composure and his accuracy because he
is not one of those big, strong, powerful quarterbacks. He
is not going to run past you like Murray, or

(11:31):
spin out of trouble like a Mahomes, or throw sidearms
sixty yards down the field as he's being tackled like
Mahomes could. If McCarthy is an elite NFL quarterback, his
wow traits are going to be his composure and his

(11:55):
accuracy like Joe Burrows. Now we need to address another
elephant in the room when it comes to Colin Coward's
opinion about McCarthy, and it has nothing to do with Colin,
but it has everything to do with the fan base

(12:18):
that gets offended about his opinion. And let me just
phrase it like this. If Colin praised McCarthy like he
praised Sam Darnold last year, everyone today would be saying, oh,

(12:41):
look at Coward praising the Beckings. He gets it, he
knows and he knows football. But because he actually shared
a negative take, everyone calls him an idiot. And that's
the emotional side of fan base is getting involved in
an opinion, which leads me to this right now, the

(13:08):
Minnesota Vikings fan base are like a parent seeing their
kid getting bullied at the park by another kid. They
are that to McCarthy, because as soon as the Vikings
fan base sees McCarthy getting bullied by a professional sports

(13:32):
talker like Colin Coward, the Minnesota Vikings fan base sprints
as fast as they can to that park and gets
that bully off their kid to protect him. Right now,
that's how the Minnesota Vikings fan base is treating McCarthy.

(13:53):
They are treating him like their son. And right now,
in the Vikings Van Bates's eyes, their son is being
attacked by someone like Colin Coward and they are sprinting
and calling him an idiot, calling him a moron, when
in reality, some of the things that he says about

(14:14):
his wild trait and the Winner thing, it's one hundred
percent true, or has at least one hundred percent legitimacy.
There's legitimacy to what Colin is saying. It's not just
out of left field. The report wasn't just made up
when he does some investigative work. But because what he

(14:40):
said offended Minnesota Vikings fans, everyone calls it an idiotic take.
When there is legitimacy within the take. Minnesota Vikings fans
are treating like their son. They gotta protect him, they

(15:07):
gotta keep him safe, they gotta keep him from harm's way.
And when someone like Coward comes in and pounces on
him with legitimate information, I should say, people get up
in arms and are offended. And what's so funny is

(15:28):
that if McCarthy is the things that Coward has stated,
then Minnesota Beggings fans are also going to turn a
blind eye and say this guy sucks all. He was
just giving a great team at Michigan. He was just

(15:49):
who isn't a winner that comes out of Jim Harbay.
He's a winner in high school, but who cares at
the NFL level. What's so funny is that they are
also going to be so quick to jump off a
bandwig and call him a bust if he is a bust.
So it's just so funny how it works. It's so
funny how sensitive the mind of Minnesota Vikings fans are,

(16:16):
and not just Minnesota Vikings fans, fans across the league.
You criticize their team from the outside and you're the
biggest idea it ever. But as soon as a player
that stinks or isn't performing to the level that they're

(16:36):
expected to. Fans Benchump caught him, train him all. This
guy sucks. It's like only the fan base of an
organization can critique a player or a coach within that organization.

(16:58):
Any outside no is just crap. So it's just funny
how that works. The intricks inchrisakeis in the the the
different things that happen. So I think it's funny. It's good.
