(00:20):
Gap together with Greenwood Pay Money Movers, Welcome back to
the Money Moves Podcast powered by Greenwood. Earlier this week,
we were joined by Atlanta, who filled us in on
his story and journey both in the music and art industry. Today,
(00:43):
he's going to join us for a deeper dive into
the world of n f t S Money Moves Podcast.
Let's welcome back are Atlanta. Hey Atlanta, It's great to
see you again. I'm so excited to have you back
here because I'm so fascinated with n f t S,
what you've done with dumb aliens and your art business
(01:03):
that you've built over these years. So if y'all check
out his Instagram art at Atlanta on Instagram, he's got
so many incredible pieces and if you're into art, pop culture.
He uses mixed mediums. It's really really some great stuff.
And you bring a lot of artists like I saw
Drake on there, I've seen Tupac. And you also commission
(01:23):
a lot of pieces as well. Talk about how you're
getting these commissions, because I feel like that's an interesting
strategy for young artists to also make a little bit
of money. Put food on the table. Exactly. All I
did was d I just d M like hundreds of
people every single day for us. I just kept deming
and people like, yo, let me paint something for your
(01:44):
independence for d M. Now I have over eight hundred
collectors of my art. Eight hearing the people own a
piece of my art. So just just through Instagram alone,
just dough Instagram d M. Yes, brilliant. I have heard that.
That's really brilliant. Yeah, now have over eight hundred collectors
(02:04):
I made. I made so much money off art, it's
it's ridiculous. Can you break down for us what our
n f T s and why it's changing the art landscape?
So think of enterpty. So n f T is a
non stands for non fungible token, So it's basically a
digital asset it represents real world objects like art, videos, games, music,
(02:33):
any type of media object. Anything. They're brought and sold
online with cryptocurrency ethereum and bind with ethereum. They're generally
and generally encoded with the same like the same anything
with cryptos on the blockchain. So like it's on the blockchain.
(02:53):
And I've just did my research and study to figure
out how I could make money with enterpties, and all
I did was create my own niche and my own
style with my n f t s and found my
niche and also NMC. It's like data storied online, so
in the blockchain. If people people that don't know what
(03:14):
the blockchain is, it's a decentralized data online basically basically
what the blockchain is. Seriously, Atlanta, that was probably one
of the best um explanations of what n f t
s are, because I find people still think they're so confusing.
But if you just break it down to the basics
of it, like you did such a great job, thank you,
(03:36):
thank you, So go ahead. Now, I was gonna say,
if people want to make money off n ties, all
you have to do is really just study it Google online.
I just went online and study when the Google and
study kept on reading articles about n ties and that's
what really taught me how to make n f tesh
my gosh, I mean I love it, and I just
(03:57):
think there's so much opportunity here and it's of those things,
especially for our community, for black people, like we need
we're artists, we're the creators, were the culture drivers, and
like this is something that is, you know, going to
take off, not just now, but it's going to be
around for a long time. So like people need to
really get on board. So I'm glad you are making
money off of this. I'm glad you're telling this story.
(04:18):
I'm glad that people understand. Yeah. Um okay, So next question,
let's talk about the process of creating an n f T.
You're an artist, so you've already got this artistic I
tell me about give our audience a step by step
guide to how you create an n FC Okay, how
I create enerty? I use my what use? I use
(04:44):
my iPad? This is this is all you need to
create an empty is an iPad and this thing right
here iPad pencil. Yeah, these two things. You can make
millions of dollars just off of this by creating en
t s And it's a software called Procreate that I used.
You download the software, you can draw in there, and
(05:05):
you can make anything on there. That's what I used
to draw. I use the Apple pencil to just literally
just draw whatever you want to create my n f
T s and that's really all you need. Wow. Okay,
So now that you've got this design idea, you upload
them to like a marketplace essentially, is that right? Yeah?
The marketplaces like open sea roa bo. I sold my
(05:28):
n f T s off roable, That's where I sold
most of minut teas. But I have the open Sea also.
And what was the most expensive n f T that
you've sold to date? Uh? It was for thirty three ethereum.
That's at the time it was a hundred. I mean
(05:48):
that's just so incredible, just dirty three ethereum, just like that. Okay,
So talk about like, you know, because one thing I
find that's so confusing about the n f T market
is like who is buying this and how do you?
And I mean art has always been like this, art
is you know, people always ask what is the value?
It's the value at which the highest person is willing
to pay for it. Yeah. Yeah, that's that's really it.
(06:08):
The people people that are buying these are investors in
smart business people like because they know that when when
you when you buy it you can hold it, the
values automatically gonna gonna go up. So those are the
people that are buying. These investors, these these all these
hedge fund dudes like, those are the people that are buying.
That's who bought my n f t s. Did they
(06:31):
actually come back because typically everything on the blockchain is
like fairly anonymous. So do people actually come back and
be like, hey, I brought your n f T, I
want to meet you, or I want to talk about it,
or they're still remaining an automatic. They actually contacted me
first before they bought it. They was like yellow and
about this n f T and I was like okay,
and then we set it up just like that. Wow,
I love that. Okay. So now are because most n
(06:54):
f t s, like all art is a collectible, our
n f t s resellable. Yes, they are deaf and resellable.
I know somebody that but an n f T for
a thousand dollars and then we sold it for for
the four Wow, this is an incredible market. What a journey.
What a ride. As someone who's a musician and an artist,
(07:17):
can you talk about how the blockchain has added copyright
and authentication to art and especially in the n f
T world because now you can't steal it. Yeah, exactly.
It's very important because it's it's obviously the future, like
that's where the future is heading. So if you want
to be ahead of the curve, you gotta get on
(07:38):
it now. Because if you look at Tory Lanes, you know,
Tory Lanes, he just made made a million dollars in
under a minute off of selling his music on n
f T S. So if that doesn't tell you to
jump on n f T S now, then I don't
know what else to tell you. Yeah, you're like, I can't,
I can't. I can't help you anymore. I can't help you. Wow.
(07:59):
Well this has been really incredible. Thank you so much
for sharing your journey. You know, you dropped a lot
of different nuggets to help up and coming artists from
doing I mean, what really gets me is that you're like,
I pinned people for hours a day. Eight people have
now got your commissioned pieces out there, you know, and
then you're building n f T S on top of that,
so please tell us again where people can find you
on social media so that they can follow you your
(08:22):
journey and buy more of your art. Can find me
on any social media platform at our Atlanta Underscore, Underscore,
my n f T s at Dumb Aliens, my music
at Wave Pop, at Wa Pop. Thank you so much, Atlanta,
It's been a pleasure to have you here, and please

to get in early. I need to get in early.

special Money Versus Moves, seems like only one of them

a dream was jumped into without a plan for execution,
absolutely and expectations existed and more in place than that's
(09:27):
the that's the key to disappointment, right, And I guess
you won't want to miss the incredible spiritual Taylor Debbie Brown.

you know, like I've always been fascinated by transformation, fascinated
by the human spirit and human emotion. Really truly prolific work.
