Speaker 1 (00:09):
VI Shooters, Lover Love and Love Lo Welcome to the
Naughty but nic Sha. I'm your host rum Shooter and
it is Tuesday, which means our dear friend Delight Dixon
joins the same as day. Are you there? I am?
How are you today?
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Mister?
Speaker 1 (00:26):
You sank great? You sank great? So you've got a
new computer. She's got a name. So what she called?
She got a beautiful new computer. You gave her a name?
I did.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Her name is Dolores.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Hello, Dolores. Now Dolores is a little temperamental, even though
she's new. So last week we planned to take the show.
We were both sitting here, had headphones on. Delores refused
to work.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
She did not feel like working. She said, look, I
need the day off. It's the middle of May. Come
back next week. I'll be ready for you, girl. And
today she is working like a charm. She's ready for
the mike and she wants She's like, I am ready
for the Naties to day.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
Dolorous, Welcome to the Nrties. It's lovely to have. Yeah, gosh,
we've lost that minds misty. We're talking to the computer.
Let's jump into ashow. What time is it? My friends?
And is tea time big story at the top of
the show. So Diddy is furious over the lack of support,
over the lack of fans outside the courthouse, and now
he's paying people to be there. Ouch. So Diddy is
(01:30):
not just on trial in a courtroom, He's battling a
brutal reality check. Outside sources tell me that Diddy is
livid over the embarrassingly small turnout of supporters outside his
ongoing sex trafficking and racketeering trial in New York. Now,
(01:50):
while the music model expected waves of loyal fans with
badges and flags to T shirts to turn up, there's
not really that many people there. I was down at
the courthouse at the end of last week, maybe about
thirty forty maybe on a really really busy day. The
first day, maybe about one hundred. But he thought thousands
(02:11):
and thousands and thousands of fans, We're gonna swarm downtown.
Remember when Michael Jackson went on trial and there was
fans everywhere supporting Michael. Did he you and no, MJ.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, I think you said. The three words is why
there's not so many people down there, And that's sex trafficking.
That's sex trafficking. And racketeering. It's just something that kind
of sounds icky. And I will say so Diva Gal's
Dailly actually has someone in the courtroom. Our new contributor,
Charlon Reyes, has been going every single day. So I
(02:47):
think the people who are interested in the case or
just want to be a part of this kind of
historic moment of being there are in the courtroom watching
the trial. And what she's telling me is you have
to get there early if you want a seat inside.
But people standing outside seeing free Dinny when people are
talking about how kind of violent he was inside the
(03:10):
car room, it's a hard thing to hold up a
sign and say, yes, that sounds like something you should
get out of jail for.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
It's such a hard thing that they are reportedly paying
people to hold up signs. So there was a young lady, Dantanne,
who claimed she was offered twenty dollars to wear a
free Diddy T shirt twenty dollars. Another person said they
made about sixty dollars yesterday. So Diddy's people are allegedly
paying folks to wear T shirts to show up. This
(03:38):
is not that unusual in the pop music world. I've
never heard of it at a trial. But in the
pop music world, when I worked for Diddy, we had
something called street teams, and they were paid to show up.
So if you had a record signing, if you had
an event and they wanted fans there, you can hire
almost a mob. And I know that sounds crazy because
(03:58):
you want to believe that all those people are genuine fans.
It's not always the case. Politicians do this too often.
Politicians put out little notices casting calls is what they
call them. You see them all over the internet, and
you get paid twenty books an hour to turn up
at a political event or in this case, a trial,
which is really unusual. What is your reporter saying the
(04:21):
mood is like inside the court room, Misty, what's the vibe?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
She just says that it's kind of electrifying, for a
lack of a better word, in the sense that you
just don't know what people on the stand are going
to say next. And so that's what makes it just
so kind of I cannot believe I'm here. This is
a moment of history, even though it's kind of a
seedy moment of history, but just being in that courtroom
(04:46):
and she's actually not American, so this is just her
being able to have this opportunity to see how American
justice works has been really intriguing for her. Think about
the mobs. What's hard now is that you need that
social media moment. You need that those people outside saying
(05:08):
free Diddy trying to create a certain kind of momentum
on social media. If they could get twenty people there
and make it look like one hundred, I'm sure they would.
So that's what the challenge is, is trying to change
the thought process of how people are reacting online on
social and it's just not working.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
It's not working. I don't think it's working in the court.
Outside the court. I used to work with Diddy twenty
years ago, and this is very important to him. Image
is very very important. He's very controlling. But my advice,
if you're listening, puff focus on what's happening inside the
court room. It doesn't matter if you found guilty. You
could have a thousand people outside, it don't matter. You've
(05:49):
gotta win this legally and then you can try and
rebuild your brand. But I think trying to rebuild your
brand while you're still on trial is putting the whole
before the cart. Not a good idea, which brings us
to our whole question of the day. I've sort of
given you my answer already. Did he is furious about
the lack of support outside his trial, and that is
(06:11):
allegedly paying fans to show up. Is this smart or
is this pathetic? Hey? Go vote on our Twitter page
at Naughty Nice rob at Facebook pages Naughty Gossip and
be sure to check that time o ra water he
your results. Hey mister, where are you working on that?
Speaker 2 (06:27):
Well? You know, the turmoil at CBS has just kind
of reached a boiling point. It is so crazy over there,
and sources are telling us that Gail King is preparing
to make her exit before the whole ship goes under.
So basically, sources are saying, this is not what she
signed up for. She's one of the most respected names
(06:48):
and news and she's being dragged down by the chaos
and she can't control it. So her contract expires at
the end of the year. And I have to say,
when you're on a sinking ship, especially in media, you
and I have both been there, well gets extremely low.
(07:09):
So many TWI of profile disasters happening at CBS. You know,
the CBS News president was just ousted Wendy McMahon sixty
minutes legal nightmare involving Donald Trump, and then there's just
been kind of a revamped vision of CBS News Now, Rob,
I know you have inside people always at the news rooms.
(07:31):
What are you hearing?
Speaker 1 (07:33):
It's messy over there. The trouble is the whole news
businesses is changing. So if you're in third place and
then the industry goes through a reckoning, it's going to
be really, really bad. It's bad if you're in first
place or second place. So GMA and The Today Show
fight that out, and then number three is CBS. They
brought Gaaleen to try and shake that up. She got
a lot of press, a lot of goodwill, but the
numbers never really changed. And then after that Rocket fee
(07:56):
Asco when she went up to space and called herself
an astronaut, the numbers dropped below two million. And now
that's a real problem because these shows are expensive. They
haven't yet figured out how to make a great, cheap
morning show. They're massive. The way that you do it
is the way that we're doing it now, mistery, It's
(08:18):
the way we did it at v H one. That
is the future of TV. It's not news bureaus around
the world. They're too expensive. It's not these fancy studios
with ten camera men and a thousand lights. It's me, you,
mister zoom a microphone and you're pumping on and that's
now the future of TV. And I think that's very,
very difficult for people like Gail, who was brought up
(08:41):
in the old school television ways, a producer's assistance, megapartners,
everything's done for you. Well, that is not going to
be the case anymore. I think Gail is probably not
going to extend her contractor I think they'll offer her
an extension. But I think at the end of the year,
Gail's out. She's got a lovely life, she's got a
ton of money, she's an it's her at Oprah's website.
(09:01):
She's famous around the world. She's Oprah's best friend. She's
gonna be just fine. And I think too, you got
to know the moment to say goodbye. When management changes,
it doesn't matter if you're at CBS Morning or any
other job. When management changes, mystay, you're vulnerable because the
new management wants to bring in their own people, want
(09:23):
to make cuts, want to make changes. That's why they
were hired. They weren't hired to just keep things running
as they are. They wouldn't have been hired. Why would
we change management if we're not going to change anything.
So the minute you know it naughty is the minute
a new manager walks into your office, your restaurant, wherever
you're working, things are going to change.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Absolutely. And we've been through this so many times in
the media world. Every time that you get a new bus,
you think, Okay, how do I make it so I
can show why I still need to be here? But
you could do the best work in the world. And
they still have what I always say, they got friends,
and the media industry doesn't have a lot of jobs,
(10:02):
so you always have to be careful about that. But
I think for Gail, what might be great for her?
I mean, first of all, she looks amazing, so she
wanted to start her own YouTube channel. She could do
that or even a podcast and really talk about things
that are important to her. Michelle Obama's doing it, so
why not that seems to be the future? Like you said, yes,
(10:22):
hair and makeup, Oh I'll miss it to this day,
but days just being able to get up, sit down
with you for twenty minutes and talk to the Nazis
and look still cute, but maybe with a little less makeup.
That's the way to go.
Speaker 1 (10:36):
That's the way to go. Absolutely mistake. Okay, moving along,
We just found out that Meghan Michael was dumped for
Serena Williams out on a Vogue cover. So back in
twenty twenty two, the coveted cover of Vogue UK was
up for grabs and Megan really wanted it. She wanted
to be on that cover. She was friends with the editor.
(10:57):
His name is Edward, really really smart editor in chief.
He's the Anna Winter of British Vogue and so she's
friends with him. So I think she assumed she'd got
the cover. Well, it turned out Serena Williams had already
been booked. Inside us say, Meghan was furious. Even though
Serena is one of her best friends and she expected
this cover, she didn't get it. And then what made
(11:19):
matters worse is she was replaced by someone she thinks
considers who is a close friend. Now, she didn't fall
out with Serena over it was not her fault, but
the relationship with Edward, the long standing friendship Meghan had
that was dating back before she even met Harry. It
suddenly ended and it became very difficult to move forward.
(11:41):
I think this is complicated when you have friends who
you also potentially work with, because when you don't get
what you want in the job, does that mean the
friendship is dead? Real friends? Obviously the answers no. When
I don't get what I want from my friends, it's
not about the cover of Vogue or about work. It's
the fact that you get to decide which restaurant we
(12:02):
go to anomy it's much lower stakes, and so it's
so difficult working working with friends and then not getting
the answer you want, then to fall out with your friend. Messy,
messy messy.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Yeah. This was about a year after her infamous interview
on Oprah, and I think as she still is, as
some consider today, a controversial figure. You know, in the end,
we are a business, right, Magazines are a business, and
you need to be able to sell magazines. And she
may have not been the face at that time that
(12:35):
could have sold magazines. And those are the decisions that
editor in chiefs have to make. Who is going to
bring in the eyeballs, who is going to make you
pick up that magazine and plunk down some money to
get it. But yeah, I agree with you. We know
a lot of PR people that we keep key with
at night and then the next morning when we have
a question that's not so great about their client, they're
(12:57):
like new phone, who it is? Yes, you have to
learn how to balance that. And again, it's so much
we're talking about media today, but it it really is
a delicate balance because you are your constituency, are the
consumers are the public, and you have to get the
public what they want. And sometimes that doesn't make the
(13:18):
journalists the publicist happy, But we want to do what
you guys want because we want to make sure you're
getting what you get. And sometimes it's just going to
make some people happy and that's the way it is.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
And some some not. Okay, moving long, Mi, stay you've
got an update on Blake Lively and Taylor Swift. This relationship,
this friendship, Oh it makes me so sad, But I
think Taylor's probably smart at the moment to withdraw a
little bit. What's going on with.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Easterns, Like you said, talking about personal and professional really yes,
but you know they used to be closest confidence confidants,
but that error is officially over. Now. Some fans are
fearing that Taylor Swift is going to do a distracking lively,
but insiders are saying that's not going to happen. They're
(14:03):
saying this will not be immortalized in lyrics. Taylor is
choosing to handle this privately. She's cut Blake out full stop.
I mean, I think that's even the bigger insult. I'm
not writing a song about you, right, That means it's
really over.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
You know, they used to be besties.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
They had the matching glam nights, you know, outfits, they
went out and they hung out in luxury sweets, and
you know, they were publicly praising one another. But now
insiders say that all that was just mutual pr They
basically kind of use each other for lack of a
better word. You know, Blake got cool cred with the Swifties,
(14:42):
Taylor got this kind of connection to Hollywood, but it's
just not there anymore. And you know, Taylor doesn't play
when it comes to loyalty, and what Blake has done
is considered betrayal.
Speaker 1 (14:57):
Yeah, yeah, she's not messy. Taylor's with Tat's messiness, and
this is really really messy no song though. Like Taylor's
famous for writing her feelings in songs, boyfriend, she's done
it for people that have not really treated her very well.
But I'm told she's going to stay away from Blake,
So maybe there's still is hope there. Maybe. Okay, we're
going to take a quick break and we will be
(15:18):
right back. Welcome back to the naughtyburn I show your
Hostrom Shooter. Hey, no things. Let's get to the polls
that the U. Last year we talked about Taylor Swift
and Travis Kelsey has told Sorry, Taylor Swift has told
Travis Kelcey to stay silent after the President attacked her again.
Our question was, would you defend your partner if they
(15:41):
told you not to? So this is not about Taylor,
it's not about the President, it's not about Travis. It's
about you. If somebody came after your partner, if somebody
came after somebody you loved and they said, please don't respond,
you will make it worse. Could you do that? Let's
have a look. Seventy percent said yes you could, but
that it's still a large percentage. Missie. I think it's
(16:02):
your instinct, isn't it. If somebody came after you, I'd
be arab mystery. I'd be ready to attack, even though
it might make the situation worse.
Speaker 2 (16:11):
Yeah, I think that's a really hard one because you
do want to protect the people you love and so
hearing somebody else kind of trash them, even on a
small scale, it's really challenging to deal with. But if
your partner is asking you please don't get involved with this,
they know something that you probably don't, or they're just
trying to avoid you getting into situation. And you know,
(16:33):
my sister is a lawyer, and I hear about how
people react when you've said things about people, and sometimes
it does not end up pretty. She won her case,
and so you know somebody's going to jail for something
they did wrong, so reacting to somebody else saying something,
So sometimes you need to keep your mouth shut so
(16:54):
lives stay intact. That's all I can say.
Speaker 1 (16:57):
Yeah, follow people's wishes. I remember I was with you
once in Time Square and somebody came at me and
you turned into a rock whild and he wasn't helping
the situation. I know you did it for love us, Like,
please stop so we could just walk away, because this
is going to escalate and I was like, but you
would not. I had to grab your hand. I had
to say, I had to march. You died forty fourth streets.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Nobody says anything about my shooter.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
I will tell you, thank you, Dad. I love you
for it. I love you for it. Don't forget to
vote on today's pole. Go to Twitter page at Naughty
Nice rob At Facebook page is Naughty Gossip AMBI sure
to check back time my rit to hear your results are.
Now it's time for our niceast of the day.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
We're gonna give Megan Markle some flowers right now because
she celebrated her and Prince Harry's seventh wedding anniversary by
sharing never before seen photos of their family. She posted
this on Instagram. She said seven years of marriage. It
was a bulletin board full of cute pictures of herself
(17:59):
and family and notes, and she said a lifetime of stories.
Thank you to all of you, whether you are by
our side or from afar, who have loved us and
supported us throughout our love story. We appreciate you. Ah
seven years old, this is like, this is seven year
(18:20):
but I'm telling you that woman ain't leaving for nothing.
Would be pretty bad together.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
The photographs were really amazing. I zoomed in on every
single one of them. No royals, no members of the
family in the seven year history, which they have not
really been there for, so that that makes sense. How
nice ist of the day, And now I noticed the
day naughty, naughty, naughty. Oh Jessica Simpson, my old friend,
my old client, is heartbroken after a brutal return to performing.
So Jessica went on American Idol and she's not getting
(18:49):
the best reviews. She's relaunching her music career, but instead
it sort of turned into a public roast. So she
was up there singing, but it didn't really transition very
well into audience rops. And more importantly, and this is
what's devastating, she didn't get a boost in album sales.
So Jessica hasn't performed in I think fifteen years, hasn't
(19:10):
put out an album in a really long time. It's hard.
It's so hard to win an audience back. I fear
if Britney Spie has made a comeback, I just don't
even know if the audience is there anymore. Justin Bieber
might have trouble selling records. The audience moves really, really quickly.
That's why you have to tip your hat to people
like Madonna and people like Cheer who are still relevant.
(19:31):
It's amazing, all these years into their careers. This has
not happened with Jessica is heartbreaking. Ah an audience of
the day. Let's end with a murmur of rab you Rob.
You deserve to be happy, not tired, not hurt, not
consistently stressed or surviving or settling, just happy. You deserve
peace that isn't followed by chaos, Love that doesn't come
(19:54):
with conditions, rest without guilt, and laughter that is real.
Stop convincing yourself that burnout is normal or that struggle
is a badge of honor. It's not. You deserve joy,
you deserve ease. You deserve to feel good in your
own life, and don't let anybody, including yourself, tell you otherwise. Hey,
(20:20):
that is it for today. Thank you so much for
listening to The Naughty Bent Nines with Robert Misty Show,
a production of iHeartRadio. Don't forget to subscribe on the
iHeartRadio app Apple podcast. Wherever you listen, leave us a
review if you can. They really do help and remember
all together now if You're going to be nice, take
(20:40):
care of everybody. It's not even nice with Bro
