Speaker 1 (00:14):
And Lowe. Welcome to the Naughty but niceha. I'm your host,
Rob Shooter, and it is Friday, which means our dear
friend Corey. Andrew joins us, Hey, Corey, are you there?
I am here.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Happy Friday, everyone.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Happy Friday, Corey. We've been doing this a long time.
We're on season four of our podcast. Corey. I'm still
a little nervous about the technology.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
I know people can only see like right before we start,
like every Friday, and you know, it's always a thing.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
Well, here we are, it's always a thing really good
at the content. I can say that with total total
conviction the technology. It's always a little bit of a
give and to take. But we're here, we're here, it's
all working well. So let's keep going while things seem
to be doing just fine. What time is it, my friends?
It is big story at the top of the show.
(01:04):
So Ellen is deeply hurt after John Wilvaney took a
brutal jab at her, saying that she feels like the punchline.
Let me explain. So John Bulvaney, I love him. It's
very very funny. He took a dig at her. He
was really doing one of his shows and he talks
about being a parent, and he compared life with a
toddler son as working on the Ellen Degenerous show, like
(01:28):
it's trickery, It's never that easy. Might look like a
lot of dancing and singing, but it's a lot of drama.
And you know that having a three year old son
is like working on that show. So after he said this,
people laughed. It was very gentle. It was I think,
very very funny. Ellen did not appreciate their sources tell
(01:49):
me she's really angry. It's so interesting, isn't it. Always
the people that can dish it out can never take it.
And if Ellen's naughtiness means had just been the level
of John maulvain is towards her staff, her staff would
have laughed, it's fine, we can take a joke. I
think we can get so sensitive so wrapped up. Yeah,
(02:11):
and not wanting to upset anybody that we sort of
stifle having actually a good time. John's been funny. Ellen.
You've been a comedian for a really long time. You know,
a joke's a joke. And this is different from what
Ellen did to her staff. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
I think also she is really in a place of
she's still sort of very sensitive to that. That way,
her brand got damaged in that regard, and she's never
really recovered from that. I mean, she's trying to do
different things, and you know, she's got the skincare line
that pops up like at two in the morning and strange,
which strange, but I know, yeah, she never really recovered
(02:47):
from that, and I think, you know when your brand
is nice, Remember at Rosie o'donald had the same situation.
She never quite recovered from that brand damage. So I
guess I understand why she's sensitive to it.
Speaker 1 (02:58):
I get it, but she's also I think, get a
forty million dollar home in England. You know you do? Not?
You doing okay? Rosie do? You both are doing okay.
It just makes me laugh that people that give it out.
I found this in my own life, not with celebrities,
just in my regular life too. The people that could
dish it out can't take it. I've had to learn
(03:21):
to take a criticism because I talk about people for
a living. This is what I do all day log
so I can laugh at myself. In fact, even better
than that, I'm the first to laugh at myself, and
then it takes away the sting. It takes to anybody
else's power. Ellen's very sensitive. I in my pr DA's
would take celebrities to all the different TV shows, and
(03:42):
I went to the Ellen Show several times with different clients.
It was always a little off. You know, when the
vibes just just off when you walk in a room.
It might be a bar of restaurants and something's not
quite right. That's how I felt at the Ellen Show.
It was just the staff are walking on eggshells and
frightened of her. She was not that kind to them.
(04:04):
And I think Ellen, having somebody make fun of this.
This is what comedians do. And if the foot you see,
if the shoe was on the other foot, you might
make a joke like this yourself. John mulvany is a
really nice guy. There's comedians out there that are much tougher, nicky, glazier.
I'd love to know what she thinks about like that. Though. Yeah,
(04:25):
this is a soft dick. It's soft hate. It's not
even hate, it's soft. And so I think we can
get a little bit carried away here, Ellen. It's so
narcissistic too. Calm down. He told a thousand jokes over
the last week this is what he does. It's just one.
Your life ain't gonna change. It's not gonna change the
way we feel about you, not gonna change your ank account.
(04:46):
You're gonna be just fine, Which brings us to our
whole question of the day. Ellen's deeply hurt over John
Mulvaney's brutal jab. I think it's actually quite a soft jab.
Do you think Ellen is right to be upset? Would
you be upset? Or can you for yourself? That's basically
the question here? Can you naughties? Can you laugh at yourself?
Be honest, be honest about it? I can, I really can,
(05:09):
But after the fourth joke its a little you know,
if you keep going, But like you know, you can
you can make fun of me? What about you? Go
vote on our Twitter page at Naughty n Ice rob
Our facebook page is Naughty Gossip and be sure to
check back on Monday to hear your results. Hey Corey,
what are you working on?
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Yes, well, this is a story that I didn't even
remember it happened, but now that it's in the headlines again,
you know. Serena Williams is raising eyebrows this week after
she is finally revealing why she dodged a face to
face moment with her longtime friend. I almost said best friend,
but you know, they're all so close. But her good
friend Taylor Swift at this year's Super Bowl, and you know,
(05:50):
the explanation is not necessarily what the fans are believing,
and they're kind of scratching their heads now. According to
Time magazine, Serena, who is forty three years old, and
her husband Alexis they brought their daughter Olympia, right up
to the pop Stars VIP suite and hopes of getting
like an autograph and but you.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
Know, despite being just steps away.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
From the cruel Summer singer, Serena suddenly backed off and
like just didn't engage at all with Taylor Swift, which
people thought was kind of strange because they are supposed
to be such good friends and she was apparently, you know,
getting hackled by fans, by Philly fans. Actually, it was difficult,
and it was difficult for her to kind of get
in the moment because she felt like there was like
too much going on, and so they said that she
(06:29):
just sort of like backed away, and she's that kind
of quietly pushed away from the moment. Now, Taylor Swift
apparently is not buying it one saying that you know what,
they're friends and if you're that close, then you've just
got to step up right and come to the room
and you just walk in. But I will say I
think that so much in life revolves around us doing
(06:50):
things that make us uncomfortable to make other people feel better.
And if, for whatever moment in that situation, Serena felt
something was off, the fact that they are close friends
means Serena has that ability to go, you know, I'm
going to step away and I'm going to talk to
her later and let her know why. The fact that
that part didn't happen, that's peculiar because I would call
(07:11):
you later and go, hey, Rob, sorry I left the
party quickly.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
But here's why. Why why? Yeah, My instincts would be
the opposite. If somebody was being mean to you, if
you were being Heckledu'd march into that room and give
you a big hug and say come and sit next
to me and so. And the other thing too, is
there was a child involved me, and that's a very
difficult thing to explain to a child who wanted an
autograph with Taylor Swift. I would have marched and given
(07:37):
her a hug. We would have took a photograph, had
an autograph. It's not that big a deal. Some celebrities
go nuts about this and it drives me so crazy.
Take her selfie, sign something. It takes you two three,
four seconds. Yes, sometimes you might not be in the mood,
but also to this isn't just a fan, this is
a friend. I've often had friends, people I know, come
(07:58):
up to me in a restaurant or a bar and
I'm just not really in the mood. I don't want
to talk about celebrities. I just want to like hang
with my real friends. But I put on the rub
Shooter show. You've seen it, Corey. I've been having drinks
with you and people might come over and say hello,
and I'm happy to give them a ten minutes, but
not too don't a chair, don't you go? And so
I think, here, Serena, there's something not right about this story. Serena,
(08:22):
your backstage, You're one of the most famous athletes in
the world, your friends with Taylor, your daughter wants a picture.
Why did that not happen. I'm not buying that. It's
because the moment wasn't right. The moment's always right for
a friend. We'll never a bad moment. What do you
think it was about? This was I was told and
(08:42):
I can't confirm this, So this is just here say
she couldn't get past Taylor's security. Listen, that's a big deal.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
If you're a celebrity and you get start and treat
it like the rest of the people.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
It's hard to deal with that. I've seen that happen
a friend of by Miss One's performing for Bill Clinton
and we couldn't get backstage because of the secret service.
That It made me giggle because I was like, I
can't get past secrets. I'll meet you later. I'll meet
you at the restaurant. I texted him and I was like,
we'll meet you later. I'm fine with this. So Tailor's security,
(09:15):
they don't care who you are, and they had a
big event like that. These security guards can get a
little aggressive. So that's what I heard. But there's something
strange about this one. Okay, moving along, Bethany Frankel has
been shamed by a twenty four year old Gia Judici,
who is Teresa's daughter, is saying that there was just
no place for this mean girl behavior. Recently, Bethany went
after Teresa, but she also involved Gia in it too.
(09:38):
I know she's not a kid anymore. I know she's
twenty four, but nevertheless, dragging kids into this is just
or someone's at least child into this. It's just so weird.
So Bethany was on TikTok mouthing off, getting attention, and
g took a moment. It's been a few days, maybe
a week, and she is now fighting back, and I'm
told Bethany is quite stung by this reaction. It sounds
like Ellen, doesn't it at the top of the show
(09:59):
that she's someone always on TikTok saying really really tough
things about people, and the minute you say something about her,
oh my goodness, she goes yes, devastated, like heartbroken. You know,
I don't I think you know. She's twenty four, she's
got her own reality show, Nijera. She is an adult,
but I still tread carefully around it. Teresa's crimes pun intended,
(10:20):
are not the daughters, and so if you howives want
to go out each other. That's the other thing that's
weird about Bethany. For a long time, she didn't want
to be known as a housewife. She wanted to be
a mogue or a business person, a philanthropist giving money away.
Now she's gone back to being really sort of like
a bitchy housewife and just gossiping about this show. You
can't have it both ways, Bethany. I know you want
(10:42):
the hits. I know you want the viewers. I know
you want the readers. So what's going to get them
talking smack about housewives? But then you can't pretend to
be Martha Stewarts. Pic your lane piculate, and this is
probably the best lane for her. This is who Bethany is.
But it is interesting when someone much younger than you
clapse back. It's yeah, well, you know what.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
Gia got the sympathy from the crowd because they know
that Bethany is more seasoned as a shark in this space.
And quite honestly, Bethany is the one who started it
because she did.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
She once solicited.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
She made comments about Teresa being you know, a walking
tax study or whatever. She called her all these names,
and but she mocked her for being a person who
had gotten in trouble with the irs, and Jia defended
her mom, and I liked that what she said to
Bethany was well, you know, you mock my family, and
I hope that one thousand dollars check was worth it
because you know, on TikTok you get paid for and
(11:37):
I think that is what really hit Bethany. So if
you look at what Gia said, she actually went for
the jugular and said, you're just You'll say anything from that.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
That's what truth hurts. Okay, this story made me laugh
and sort of upset me too. I've known Debbie Metanopolis
for you. She was originally on the View, one of
the first so the View, but it's just broke. I
think this morning in page six that she was in
tall to join the Real high Swives at Beverly Hills,
But within the last twelve hours, I think that job
off her has gone away. What am I talking about?
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Yeah, well, you know, I don't know how I feel
about this, so I can't wait to hear your thoughts.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
Rob.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
So, So Debbie Metnopolis she lost the Real Housewives gig,
apparently because she had been dropped from consideration for apparently
spilling the beans on her Bravo casting talks way too soon.
So basically Bravo hates leaks. You know, they want to
be the one to drop the surprise, and that's what
keeps the suspense going. So you really have to be
(12:31):
tight lipped when you're on these shows. And apparently her
big mouth cost her the job. She talked to herself
right out of her contract when apparently she was talking
to Page six Radio and she said that she was
in active talks to join the Iconic franchise, and she
went as far f to say that the discussions were
actually happening as recently as last week.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
So she's boasting that. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
But you know, here's my thing about this. You and
I work in TV radio, all that good stuff. You
are embargoed. They tell you, they tell you what not
to say, and they not to say it. So I
don't know how I feel about this, Like they needed
to tell her, hey, you really can't say anything, and then.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
I think they did. It's just dead be showing off,
I think. And I've done that too. I've said stuff
to show off, and I want to tell everybody my
good news, but it's not my moment to tell them.
And what I was told by Brather insiders here is
it's given a bigger insight into DEBI if they can't
trust her with the casting, how are they going to
trust them when she's on the show. And is she
going to leap photographs? Not not to be mean, not
(13:34):
sell them to newspapers, but is she going to go
on Instagram? Is she is? These ladies have to really
shut it down. They take these episodes months before they air,
sometimes a year before they air, and so all these
secrets they want to be revealed live on the show,
not six months in advance. And so they this has
given us an insight. And I think I've seen this
(13:56):
too with people. It's not what they said, it's the
fact that they said it. And so I was like, oh,
if I tell somebody a secret from working on a
story but I haven't gone to print at and they
mention it, I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, No, I can't
do that. And then it just turns me off, Like
once I realized once the trust is broken, that's what
I'm getting to it. Once you break my trust, I'm like, oh.
(14:18):
And then the other thing too, is even if all
this was a mistake, and I believe it was, Debb
is a good person, it's just bad judgment. And do
I need to be in business with bad judgment. I
have a lot of friends who have terrible judgment. I
love that. But in business, and this is a business.
And that's what they forget about the Housewives. It is
a business, hundreds of millions of dollars around the world, absolutely, Corey,
(14:42):
and so they just don't they don't mess about with this.
They love the sloppiness when the cameras are rolling, But
behind the scenes, it is a business. If you ever
go up to Brothers offices, it's not Andy Cohen drinking gin.
It's not people running around in bikinis. What's a real lot.
It's inside NBC News, it's in thirty Rock and it's
(15:03):
so so corporate, and it's not campy. It's not funny.
It's not pink. I thought everyone would be on Harveball
drinking martin Is. It's not. It's like a real office. So,
DeBie Derby, I know what you're doing. You weren't trying
to be mean, you were just showing off. But I
think this has cost you a really good job. Okay,
we're going to take a quick break and we will
be right back. Welcome back to the Naughty but I
(15:25):
show my host from Hey Cory let's get to the polls.
Last year we talked about Prince William has every intention
of formally stripping Harry and Meghan of they're royal titles
once he becomes the king. Is this the right or
the wrong thing to do? Let's have a look. Sixty
percent said the wrong thing to do. I think I
agree here. I know it's been difficult, but it's petty.
You've got bigger problems to worry about than this. This
(15:49):
is going to play into their hands, This is going
to give them sympathy. Sure, I think that. You know,
they took away Diana's hr H and that did not
hurt her, and so it's just it's petty. It's just petty.
Don't forget todos. On today's Paul got a Twitter page
at naughty Nice rob at facebook page is Nordy Yossip
and Michel has to check back on a Monday to
hear your results. And now it's time for a nice
(16:13):
Nisiest of the day.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
I have to say I do agree with this, and
so I would just share that kit. Chloe Kardashian. All
those k's, I always get confused that which one I'm
talking about. Chloe Kardashian she has banned sleepover even at
Courtney's house, you know, for her kids. She really she's
very strict on that. And she says, you know what,
she's putting her perfectly manicured foot down, and she says,
(16:37):
nobody's kids are sleeping over at anybody's house, not even
at Auntie Courtney's.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
And so the.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
Reality star and momm revealed that she's a strict no
sleepover mom. And she has this, you know policy for
her kids at one's seven and one's two years old.
And she shares these kids, of course, of course with
Tristan Thompson, and so she just does not like them.
And she says, whether the rule applies to her famous
siblings home or not, she just believes that she's really
(17:02):
protective of her kids and she doesn't want to have
them out of her sight for one minute. And I
have to say, this is kind of funny, but she says,
you know what, I watch a dateline, Okay, I know
what happens. And I have to say, we know those shows.
There's always someone, unfortunately out there, even under your own nose,
sometimes in your own home, a friend of the family,
you just don't know. So she's being very protective, and
(17:24):
I have to say I commend her.
Speaker 1 (17:25):
I think I get this. You have to remember too,
these are not homes like as. They have staff, they
have gardeners, they have people in there, they have lots
of people in there, and so I totally get this.
I think it's your choice. I'm not a parent, but
we never had sleepovers when I was little. We used
to go out and play with for friends and have
an amazing and amazing, amazing time. However, we would all
(17:47):
have to be home on time, and we slept in
around this. I like sleeping in my own bed too.
I honestly too. I can't be home, rather be and
I don't want friends sleeping on my bedroom floor. Get
out my room. I wouldn't share, okay, and nice is
the day now, I'm not which is the date. Bobby Brown,
the rapper, is slamming Britney Spears, but he did cash
her checks. So Bobby Brown is slamming Britney's two thousand
(18:08):
and four cover of his huge hit My Prerogative. I
love that song. He said she butchered it, and he
said he only cleared it because it was Britney Spears
and he thought she'd kill it but instead it killed
him inside and people. I spoke to her saying, but
he did cash the checks. This song was over for
little bits of huge hit. She brought it back. He cashed.
(18:29):
There's checks and now to talk smack about her. You know,
and you're not exactly Mozart yourself, Bobby Brown, like calm down.
It's a pop song. Whenever people sing Bruce's songs. My husband,
Bruce is a songwriter. We're thrilled. It's great. Even if
they butcher then it makes us laugh. It's absolutely thrilling.
(18:51):
Ugh makes me angry. It's an honor and not is
the day. Let's end with the moment of you get Rob.
The most important thing is to enjoy your life and
be happy. That's It's all that matters at the end
of the day. It's not titles or trophies or money
or to do lists that define a life well lived.
It's Joycorey. It's in the laughter. It's in the piece
(19:11):
you get when you're your true self. It's in the
freedom to be present, to love, to live. Don't wait
for happiness to find, you find it, create it. Let
me tell you the biggest secret to being happy. Write
down all the things on a piece of paper that
make you happy, and then do them. That's how you
get happy. I like to listen to music, so I
(19:34):
do it every day. I like to go for a
walk every day, so I do it every day. Makes
me really happy to have dinner with Bruce and to
catch up on what's been going on in our lives.
So we have dinner together every single night. Write down
a list of what makes you happy. Flowers make me happy,
So once a week I buy a cheap bunch of flowers.
I love them. They're on my coffee table. Write down
(19:54):
a list of what makes you happy, and do it? Hey,
that is it. You make me so happy, Corey, and
so do you nough tease. Thank you so much for
listening to the Naughty but Nice with Robin Corey Show.
A prediction of iHeart Radio and Elvis Duran that sounds good.

They really do help and remember altogether. Now let me
(20:16):
hear you singing along. If you're going to be naughty,
got to be. It's not even nice with Bra
