Speaker 1 (00:08):
Stable advice. Shoot. Hello Loo Lo lower Lo. Hello, welcome
to the Naughty but Nice Show. I'm robbed shooting your host.
It is a big day to day. It is Monday
after the Oscars. Who've got a ton of celebrity news,
and I'm lucky enough to have my own little Oscar

(00:28):
star my friend Garrett's vogel from Good Morning Rob. I
am all gold, all dripping in gold, my friend tripping.
Did you enjoy the Oscars? I am a little Oscar hungover.
I I did what I haven't done before. I sat
through the entire Oscar Awards. Now, because you work on
the Elvis Ran Show, what time do you have to
get up? So staying up to like eleven thirty midnight

(00:51):
is it's a long line. So as the celebrities were
rolling out of their parties, I was just rolling into work.
We wouldn't have it any other way. We've got a
ton of gossip. I had so many reporters out in
l A giving us all the dish, and now we're
going to bring it to you. What's that I hear?
It's the chimes of Big Ben, which on this show

(01:13):
means one thing. It's tea time. So the Big upset
of the night was Parasite one for Best Picture. So
I think Garrett going into the awards season, we all
thought nineteen seventeen a war movie would win, and it didn't. Parasite.
I think it's the first movie ever to win Best

(01:34):
Picture that is not an English language movie. Yes, you know,
people saw a subtitles and they're like, you're not winning anything,
don't worry about it. Did you see Parasite? Yes, it's
very interesting too, and I suggest if you haven't, it's
one of those movies that you should sit down and
watch because then you feel like you understand why they want.
There's a very I've seen it. I'm not an arty,

(01:58):
farty type of guy. I'm not. I love a Mission Impossible.
I love a Harry Potter movie like I like love
a good rom com I do. I like franchises, and
I was a little bit hesitant about seeing it because
I don't really like to read that much. Sorry mom,
if you're listening, and so I just didn't think it
was going to be from a love to you know what.

(02:18):
I loved it. I loved it. I started getting into
the foreign movies and this is more do thanks to Netflix.
When Narcos was first came out, you had to either
understand Spanish or read subtitles. And you know what it
does now a day's you look at your phone while
you're at home, or you're at the movie theaters with

(02:38):
a movie where you have to pay attention. Your smart
device has to go out the window or else you
get lost. It sucks you in, It makes you, it
forces you towards actually a little bit more so. Congratulations
to Parasite. We've got a tonne of gossip coming up.
But I thought before we get into the gossip, because
that's the sort of show we are, that's what it is.
The bills does indeed, but I thought would explain a
little bit about how the oscars work. Let me break

(03:00):
it down. So the Academy has over eight thousand members,
which means eight thousand people get to vote. It's like
a pretty big club. That number is actually up thirty
five from four years ago because they tried to expand
it so that more people of color, more people of
different backgrounds, more women were included. So each person didn't

(03:22):
show them. They didn't work out quiet as they expected,
but they are trying. So each person belongs to one
of seventeen branches. So what that means is if I'm
in the music division, if I'm a songwriter, then I
can be in the in the branch of songwriter, you
can vote on the branch. I'm an editor, then I'm
in the edit division. Now can the editors vote on

(03:45):
like Best Pictures? Would explain. It's very complicated, but I
will break it down for you. So you're in a
different branch Summer editors, summer sound people, summer writers, summer actors.
So you nominate depending on which category you're in. And
yet everybody can vote for Best Picture, So all eight
thousand people can vote for Best Picture nominee. So we

(04:05):
all get to vote on the final ballot, but the
nomination process is a little bit more specific. The big
rumor of the night was that Harry and Megan we're
going to turn up. Sir Harry and Megan are now
in America, they're in my on these days, and they
were going to turn up last night. Let me tell
you why this rumor existed. Elton john One last night,

(04:26):
Harry is really close to Elton, Sir Elton was very
close to Princess Diana. He was last night and we
all thought or a lot of people thought Harry and Megan,
We're going to be at Elton's after party. He does
a party every year. They were not there. But that's
our pole question of the day. Do you think the
Royals should have been at the oscars? Go votes will

(04:47):
give you your answer tomorrow. You can go to our
Facebook page Nordy Gossip or our Twitter page Naughty Nice
Rober Votes will get you those results tomorrow. What were
they going to do? Like? What else? Know? I mean, like,
why wouldn't they? Girl? What else are they doing? I
think I think at the moment they're probably laying low.
So Janelle Money she opened the show, which I think

(05:10):
is one of the best openings I've ever seen. It's
a call and hip and I like the Mr Rogers
theme when she comes out and puts a car to
get on and then goes out and gives Tom Hanks
a kiss. And I was hoping that jacket just came
off a little bit easier for her. It looks like
she she couldn't get her jacket off. It was a
little tricky, and I never saw Mr Rogers take the
jacket off and have a little struggle. It was always

(05:30):
glided right off his hands right onto the hook an
he went on his way. It was a little tricky.
Also interesting, she got a stand innovation that was twenty
seconds long. So I think people really enjoyed that. The
non host Steve Martin and Chris Rock, so they said
it was a DWN grade because they both hosted before.
I have a little bit of gossip here. So the
night before the Oscars, Chris Rock tried out his material

(05:52):
at a little comedy club on Sunset Boulevards, so he
was sponsored turning up. Have you ever been at a
comedy club where somebody and announced has just walked in
just on the lesser side, like not like you know
makes you see on Comedy Central, nothing like snl ice.
I was at a comedy club in Times Square and
Leslie Jones from l walked in and ripped the roof

(06:15):
off the place. He's very loud, it was really, it's
just very loud. You know. She's the new host of
Supermarket Sweeps. It's pretty ga remember that game. I love that.
I love her too, So what do you think that?
This is such a good lesson for all of us.
No matter how talented you are or successful, you have
to put in the work we talk about had a
lot on this show. So Chris Rock, one of the
greatest comedians, i'd say of all time, we can go there.

(06:37):
He bothered to try out this new material. Think you
gata because you know you have your family, you have
your friends. You're like, yeah, I'm going to try some stuff.
Family and friends. Maybe unless you have like a five
year old in the house. The five year old will
keep it real with you. Everyone else they'll be like, no, Dad,
that's great. Oh that's a great, honey, you should go
do that, and then you bomb. Also to last night,

(06:59):
a big price was Leo turned up with his girlfriend
Camilla Maroon. I think, is how you pronounced her last name?
It's been fifteen years. Should we concentrate on the last
name at this point? If he's bringing it to the Oscars,
now the name? You know, some of us are Instagram official,
Like when we start dating, we put it up on Instagram.
When you're sitting front row at the Oscars, that's when

(07:21):
it's aig. This is the apex of your career. If
you wagine your first day, imagine that was the first day.
Be the first day. This is something that you bring,
you bring your mother So this is the equivalent of
bringing bringing her home to marm Oh. This is bigger.
This is bringing her home to America, America, America. We
finally do we approve as mommy and Daddy. I didn't
get to know how much he gave me the cold
shoulder a lot during the commercial. It's just beautiful. But

(07:44):
she hadn't talked very much. But he wasn't her not
did you before? Did you hear Leo sing with But
Leo was trying to like he was like that guy
trying to be hip my neighbor. My neighbor was a
little behind the beat. I saw a moment. I wasn't there,
but I had reporters inside the theater last night, and

(08:05):
my reporter tells me that Leo actually leaned over and
touched Brad's shoulder as they announced his category. That's sweet.
It's kind of like, you know, hey, congratulations, and you
know what, I don't. I think Leo one a few
years ago. So he had his moment, and now was
Brad Pitt's moment and you had a good friend there,
or was was Leo just trying to tap his girlfriend's

(08:27):
shoulder and got Brad instead reached over and reached too
far any case, when Brad did win last night, he
finally finally one last night, the place erupted and there
was a yell that we didn't hear on television, but
inside the room everybody heard it. An audience member yelled
out loud, it's about time people love Brad Pitt. Hollywood

(08:51):
loves him. Looks aside. He's a very nice He's a
very nice guy. He also to last night thanked his
kids and his acceptance speech, so there's been some criticism.
Has pretty much been sweeping the awards, but in the
past he hasn't actually ever thanked his children. When he
created that last night, he said, this is for my kids,
who color everything I do. I adore you. He has

(09:11):
six kids with Andrew Lena Jolie Ugly battle, but I
get it wrong. Like you know, if you have kids,
you might understand this. Like when they're growing up, they
really don't start forming memories until they're like five six
years old. So all of Bread and Angelina's kids are
of the teenage years, so they have friends, they have
you know, So that was a bragg that wasn't like

(09:32):
a that was I love you, but that was for
them to go to school today and go, yeah, my
dad gave me a shout out that the Oscars. What
did your dad do? Lass night? Let's talk about the
biggest surprise of the night, Eminem. Yes, after I think
it was sixteen seventeen, eighteen years ago. Eighteen years ago
he won the Oscar for Best Song, but he did

(09:53):
not show up. So now he turned up last night.
Nobody knew about this. All my sources tell me this
was the surprise of the night. I think he did
a great job. This is a lesson though. He said
the reason he did not show up eighteen years ago
to accept his Oscar is he didn't think he was
gonna win. He said, there was no chance that rap
was going to win at the Oscar, so we didn't

(10:14):
bother to show up. I don't blame finally collected it
a little later, he finally opened his email from seventeen
years ago. Please accept this. You know, I was watching
the montage and I was like and and they ended
with you know, the start of Lose Yourself Eminem song.
I was like, oh, that's cool. I could see him
like kind of like walking out through and then all
of a sudden comes out through the stage. And I
had that moment of like, what's going on here? But

(10:36):
then everybody in the audience looked like they're like, what's
going on here? And then the people that knew how
to bob their heads and sing along, You're like, but
then the awkward white guys and but there always is.
But I think what they're trying to do is make
the show cooler and hipper, and with the performances and
the bits, I think it offset the boring, uh you know,

(10:58):
speeches and thinking, you know, you know, voting and all
that type of stuff, and they tried to keep that
entertainment within the bit talking to performer as the winner
of the night performing wise is Elton John and Bernie Tuppin,
who finally won an award together. So after fifty years,
some of the biggest songs Candle in the Wind they

(11:18):
wrote together, they never actually won a Grammy together. They
never they never won an award, so last night corrected that.
Congratulations to Elton. I think he's fantastic. What do you
think I think Elton's great Now? Normally isn't Elton throws
his own party, doesn't go to the well. Getting to that,
Elton had a huge dilemma. Let me see what you
think about this. So, after twenty five years, Elton has

(11:40):
been hosting his own Oscar party. I've been the party
of all parties, really really, really fun and he raises
a ton of money for AIDS charities, including his own
Elton John AIDS Foundation. So this is the problem he had.
Last night he invited all these people to a viewing party.
He wasn't there. So for the first time ever, Elton
could not be there because he had to be at

(12:02):
the Oscar. Who's the standing? He actually asked four people
if they would be the hosts while he was away.
He asked Diane Lane, Eric McCormack, Will from Will and Grace,
Heidi Kluham and of course the fabulous Billy Porter. So
they stood in for him. Do you think being nominated
for an Oscar is a good enough excuse for missing

(12:25):
your own Oscar party? I mean, what more of a
bigger excuse can you use? Then? Where's Elton? Oh? He's
on stage when he would. I had friends who were
at the party. They told me the room erupted when
he would And get this, after he performed, and one
he didn't do a lot of press. He didn't go
to the Governor's Ball, which is where you actually get
your oscar ingrave. He got in a car and a

(12:47):
police escort. I don't know about to say, Uber the
story of all stories star rating, So so Elton got
in his car and had a police escort to the party.
Let's talk about some of the other parties. So Netflix
had a private party. So Netflix, do you think they
made it private after they lost? I think that they

(13:08):
I think they were probably licking their wounds a little bit.
I think after spending as much as some people, say
a hundred million dollars to try and get an oscar,
the Laura dern one for the marriage story. But that's
a lot of money for one. I think they also
got a documentary. So they didn't invite the press to
their party. So boo who We're not going to talk
about those. Jay c threw his party at the Chateau
momont in the garage of all places, they turned the

(13:29):
garage into Jay's party. And then also talk about missing parties.
Every Madonna throws the late night party, it starts at
like three in the morning. Madonna missed her own party
because she's in London doing concerts. That right. You know,
if Madonna was winning an Oscar and didn't show up
to either of the oscars or a party, that had

(13:50):
been wrong, right, you know. But Elton John did the
right thing. Madonna. I think she did the right thing,
making money, doing a show. Had no didn't have a
horse in the race, as they say for the Oscar.
So there, Garrett spoken, We're gonna take a break. But
when we come barrack, we've got our part results from
our last show. Plus we've got our naughtiest and nicest
of the day. Welcome back to the nought of it.

(14:18):
I shall I'm Rob shoot with my friend Garrett. You love.
Let's get to the polls. Last show we asked you
will Tom Cruise ever leave Scientology? The results are eared. Wow,
this is the largest landslide we've ever had. No is
on Twitter, no is on Facebook. Jordan, Hello Jordan, Tom

(14:42):
jumping on couches will forever be my favorite memory. I agree,
it was a moment. Also, Matt, Hello, Matt Man says,
and he will never stop making those horrendous mission impossible.
I love those movies. And then hello, Annette, don't care
one bit about him? Tom Cruise? Do you don't care

(15:04):
about Tom Well, not that you know, to each their own,
but do I want to see Tom Cruise make good movies? Yes?
Do I care how he decides to pray? No, there
you go, and don't forget to vote on today's poll
on our Twitter page at Naughty Nice Robber on Facebook
page Naughty Gossip and check back tomorrow to hear the results.

(15:25):
And now the nicest of the day, All right, rob Shooters.
So the OSCAR ratings maybe better. The five best nominees
made over a hundred million dollars, So this year we
actually had movies that we cared about apparently, I mean

(15:46):
nineteen seventeen, Once upon a Time in Hollywood, Ford versus
Ferrari Joker, And of course there's a Little Women you
can relate to at least one of those movies you
know somewhere. So in the past, what has been said
is a lot of movies that get nominated for Oscars
are very obscure, a lot of people haven't seen them,
and because of that, people are not that interested in
who wins. This year, we have some big movies, so

(16:08):
maybe the ratings will be up. We'll let you know tomorrow,
I think so. And now the naughtiest of the day,
and the naughtiest of the day is Ricky Gervais. Let
me tell you what's going on here. So, just before
the Oscars started, Ricky slammed them on Twitter, going after
celebrities for making inspirational speeches. He really really punched hard.

(16:31):
So we know he likes to make fun of celebrities.
But when you're not involved in the event, the Oscars
have nothing to do with you, sweetie, I think you
should sit down and let everybody have a lovely day.
I like cheeking, as we certainly cheeky on this show,
but I just felt like, this is in your moment, Ricky,
the Golden globes at your moment, let us enjoy the Oscars.

(16:52):
I think sometimes that this is very hard for me
to say. Don't poke your big nose in all the time,
including me, and now it's time for a moment of
rob The way we think about ourselves is broken. We
are not. So I've been getting a lot of emails
and text messages from people asking me what's wrong with them.

(17:13):
Goodness knows how many times I've asked myself that same question,
And now, after years of searching, I finally found the answer.
So do you really want to know what's wrong with you?
Because I'm brave enough to tell you to your face
here it is. Absolutely nothing is wrong with you except
the way you think about yourself. Stop thinking of yourself

(17:36):
as broken as somebody that did something wrong. You, my
friends are just perfect as you are. And that's it
for today's show. Garrett. I love having you here. Thank
you for doing this day. Thank you all for listening
to the Naughty but Nice with Rob Show, a production
of I Heart Radio. And don't forget to subscribe on
the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you

(17:59):
listen and leave us a review because something terrible has happened.
We've got more reviewers, but we've dropped from a five
star podcast. I know we're now at four point seven,
and I'm curious. I think it's your fans, Garrett. You
know what I probably I think you've tried. I think
the Naughties. That's what my little fan club called themselves,
the Naughtiers. I need the Naughtiers to rally and get

(18:21):
us back up to five stars. I think they will.
I think they will do it. You're the best, and
listen remember altogether. If you're gonna be naughty. You gotta
be nice, take care. It's not even nice with
