Speaker 1 (00:10):
For sure. It's time nice and all. Welcome to me,
naughty but nice, sham your house to ro shooter. It's
Monday morning. Garrett is off today. He's on a two
week vacation. Isn't that lovely? Good for Garrett? I think
it's in Mexico. If you're listening, Hello, Hello, Hello, Garrett.
We miss you, but we have a fantastic show today.
(00:32):
Noughty's you're the co host. Let's jump right in. What
time is it? My friends? It is tea time, big
story at the top of the show. So Anne Burrell's
tragic death has taken a strange turn, and people are
now pointing go at her husband's odd behavior, bizarre behavior
at the funeral. He didn't wear black, he didn't cry,
(00:53):
he kept his distance, and my friends are asking what
really happened to the beloved chef. So the culinary world
turned out in force to honor the Food Network star
and Morell at a private wake on the Upper East Side,
but all eyes were on her husband, Stuart Craxton, and
not for the right reasons. Sources tell me that his
(01:16):
behavior at the Friday afternoon service was a little off
putting to some. Emotionally vacant that friends close to Anne
are now very very concerned. Now let's be clear here,
people mourn in very different ways. So just because you
(01:36):
didn't wear head to toe black, just because you didn't
get emotional, just because your behavior was not what people
assumed it should be, that doesn't mean anything. I have
been to so many funerals, to so many of these events,
and the behavior you expect isn't always the case. We
deal with grief in very very different ways. There was
(02:00):
about one hundred mourners. There are lots of people from
the food networker Anne, who was just fifty five, was
found unresponsive in the shower of her Brooklyn home on
Tuesday morning. Allegedly she was surrounded by dozens of unidentified pills.
If you follow me on substack, I do a twice
(02:21):
three times a day, very short newsletter and I had
a very very big story about this. Insiders are telling
me that within that food world, it's like the rock
and roll world, lots and lots of prescription drugs. These
chefs work really long, really intense hours under tons of pressure,
(02:41):
and it's not uncommon for chefs to unwind afterwards with
some wine, a pill or two and so insiders are
saying this is not not surprising, but really really tragic.
I know a lot of people in the food world
are on edge about all this, particularly a lot of
doctors who prescribed these prescription drugs. If you remember, after
(03:06):
Prince Michael Jackson passed away, there was a huge investigation
into what was in their system, the drugs, how they
got them. They have the pill bottles, so they know
who prescribed these pills. We don't know yet if that
was the cause of her death, we do not know.
We do know a nine to one one call indicated
(03:28):
possible cardiac arrest. Now they're going to get to the
bottom of this. So lots and lots of questions about
this tragic, tragic passing. I've got a new story going
up today on my substack, Rob Shooter. Anne never really
felt as if she fit in in the world of television.
The world of TV. I've done many many shows. It's
(03:49):
a pretty shallow world. It's not necessarily about how smart
you are, how good you are at your job. It's
how you look. And it is no coincidence that often
the people who get the big promotion, so the really
pretty ones. I hate to admit it, I've been on
shows where the least talented person was the most commercially attractive,
and she's the one that went on to get a
(04:10):
network gig. And so it is very much about the
way you look. Anne was gorgeous, but she wasn't a
stereotypical beauty. She wasn't that skinny, skinny lady that you
often see on television. She did not look like Megan
Markel or the Deal or No Deal girls. I think
that was her success. I think that's what made Anne
(04:31):
so popular. She was like us. She was really talented.
She was a brilliant chef, but she was a brilliantly
talented chef who looked like us, and that's what made
her so relatable. However, and struggled with that. Friends tell me,
it's really hard to be in this world of all
these very skinny, very pretty model types and you just
(04:52):
didn't ever fit in. And it wasn't about her talent.
It was about her looks, and that was something she
couldn't really do much about. She was never gonna be
a skinny mini, she was never gonna be a super
model figure what we consider to be a supermodel figure,
And I think that was her success. She really reminded
(05:13):
us that people like us can succeed. It doesn't always
have to be the pretty people who come out on top.
I thought she was beautiful. I had drinks with her
several times. I really really liked her, and I thought
she was just gorgeous and that personality. Oh gosh, she
was one of a kai and she literally lit up
(05:33):
a room. Now she's no longer with us. The funeral
was on Friday. Insiders are saying it was a very
bizarre day. Of course it was bizarre. She's fifty five
years old and she's gone, and so that is bizarre.
There's no way around it. How do you act at
a funeral? Recently, a friend of mine, her mother passed away,
and I went to the same funeral home where Anne
(05:55):
was a beautiful place on the Upper East Side, and
I didn't know how to behave I hadn't been to
many funerals. I still haven't. It felt really awkward to me,
and I'm sure I was aunt. I'm not on a
good day. I can't imagine under that sort of pressure.
So let's give the husband some grace here. Let's give
Stuart a little bit of grace. Actually, a friend of
(06:16):
mine used to date him before Anne, a friend of
mine dated him and she said he was a nice guy,
and so obviously here something. He's going to be discovered.
There's going to be an autopsy. We are going to
get to the bottom of it. But I ask everybody
to just give it a little a little moment, a
little moment, and instead of focusing on others, let's focus
(06:36):
on Anne and Hammer's joy and light she brought to
the world, which brings us to our whole question of
the day. Amborell's funeral takes a strange turn, and her
husband's behuss behavior has fueled whispers is he hiding something?
What do you think is he hiding something? Hey, go
vote on our Twitter page. I had any nice rub
(06:58):
Our facebook page is not degussive and Mishua to check
back to mar Rauta he your results. I'll be with
miss d Okay moving along. Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber
have split, and we told you first, so their role
goes to sixuer marriage is over, multiple sources have told Meya.
While the official announcement hasn't dropped yet, insiders say the
(07:21):
couple have been living separately for months and Hailey is
now in New York without wearing her wedding ring, and
it's no coincidence. Sources tell me quote she's done. Haley
has been preparing for this behind the scenes. The ring
came off because the marriage is off. This wasn't a
fashion statement, this was a farewell. So the split comes
(07:45):
after months of escalating signs. Hailey unfollowed Justin on Instagram,
remember that, and then she blamed a gitch, but I
don't think anybody bought it. Fans voiced growing concerns over
Justin's really erratic behavior, and then Hailey omitted in vose
that she was tired of people speculating about her marriage.
Inside this time, she's heartbroken but also a little bit relieved.
(08:09):
And Hailey gave everything she had to the relationship, but
she couldn't save somebody who didn't want to save himself.
That is so important, isn't it. We can't save people
as much as we want to, as much as we
love them, as much as we adore them. You have
to save yourself. And Justin's not there yet. Maybe maybe
(08:29):
he's rock bottom hasn't yet arrived, which is terrifying because
he's not in a good shape at all. The constant videos,
the apparent drug use, all that social media stuff. He's
in a really, really bad place. And ironically, while he's
in such a bad place, she's flying high. She's just
(08:50):
sold her company from alleged billion dollars. She has more
money than he does. In fact, there are stories that
he has money isshoes. He owes his ex manager school
to millions of dollars when he dropped out of that tour,
and so there's a lot going on here and the
power dynamic. Let me get to the real root of this.
It's the power dynamic. Therapists always say relationships go wrong
(09:12):
when the rules change, when suddenly the rich one is
no longer the rich one, when suddenly the good looking
one is no longer the good looking one. Well, that
has happened here, not with looks, but with money. Hailey
was successful, but she did not have justin Bieber money.
Now she does, In fact, she has more. She's the
powerhouse in that relationship. And I think this change of dynamics,
this change of money of finances, has just blown up
(09:36):
a marriage that was probably already on its last legs,
was in trouble. And then this deal, which you would
think good grief. Can you imagine if your partner sold
a company for a billion dollars, we would be celebrating.
We would be out with all our friends. I'd pay
off all my friends, my mom and dad's mortgages. It
would be a time of total joy. Not the case here.
It's like when people win the lottery and their lives
(09:58):
fall apart. Honestly, money it sounds terrific when you don't
have any and I've been there. I was in Edinburgh,
Scotland as a student. I had no money. It was
the happiest time of my life. And so don't think
money equals happiness. In fact, often when the money game changes,
so does the relationship. And I think that's what's going
(10:18):
on here. They were definitely not in a good place.
This relationship was trouble, trouble, trouble. But now that Haley
has a billion dollars, it has brought her freedom, it
has brought her decisions. And insiders tell me this marriage
is through taking off your wedding ring. You know you've
been photographed. You know what it's like to be followed
around by paparazzi. That's their lives. They're too smart for this.
(10:42):
These two have been celebrities for too long. They are young,
they are smart, they are socially media savvy, and so
to take off her wedding ring while there's all these
rumors speculation out there, it's a sign. It's a real,
real sign. Okay, moving along, Broadway stars say thanks, but
no thanks to Jennifer anders an ouch. Let me explain. So,
(11:02):
Jennifer wants to make a Broadway debut, but the stage
community isn't exactly rolling out the red carpet. So after
the friend's icon told People magazine that starring in a
Broadway play is on her bucket list, several Broadway insiders
scoffed at the idea, and not so quietly, one Tony
nominated actor told me, sure, she's going to sell tickets,
(11:23):
but Broadway isn't a tourist attraction. It's an art form.
This isn't a Netflix sect. This is the big leagues, now, Jennifer,
Let's be clear here. She did dabble in off Broadway,
and famously she did attend the prestigious LaGuardia High School,
really great theater. Veterans all went there. It's a great,
great school. But they say that's not enough for her
(11:44):
to earn a stripes on the Great White Way. Quote,
there are actors who have spent their entire lives training,
waiting for a shot. Meanwhile, here comes Jennifer with her
sitcom resume and a bucket list police. Oh this sounds
like a little bit of meanness, he doesn't. It sounds
like me. Girls, Jennifer is a superstar, and you cannot
be angry at somebody for being really successful. Yes, she
(12:06):
might not be doing Shakespeare Hamlet, she might not be
doing the great plays, but Friends was very, very successful,
and a lot of actors would absolutely love to have
a role like that. There's this thing between TV and
movie stars and also Broadway stars and everybody else. I've
seen it. Bruce has worked on Broadway a lot, and
(12:27):
there definitely is a little bit of elitism. They think
that they're the real deal, and often they are. What
these Broadways actors and actresses can do is unbelievable. It's
a different skill from being on a movie set or
being on a TV set. Being a Broadway star or
it is work eight shows a week, no second takes,
it's all live. It's a real, real thing, and I
(12:50):
admire that somebody like Jen wants to try it. Broadway
is struggling. The big hits, the lion Kings, the Wickeds,
they'll always be okay. The new plays, the new musicals.
They need star power to sell tickets just to start.
It's very hard to start with an original play and
original musical that's not based on a movie or a novel.
(13:13):
And so Jennifer could really use use her skills, her talent,
her fame to help sell that, and so I encourage it.
I think she's great. I think she's underestimated as an actress.
It's easy to poop poop people on television as they're
not movie stars, or well they're not that talented, or
no they are. She really studied her craft. She's a
great actress. Friends, was a great show. And let's not
(13:36):
be snobs about this. Jen If you want to come
to Broadway, I say, welcome, welcome, welcome. Okay, Moving along.
Kanye West two, we don't really cover on the show anymore.
He's too disgusting. But he's obsessed with the Diddy trial. Now,
this Diddy trial, my goodness, we have been covering that.
I used to work with him. Oh thank you everybody.
I wrote a column for the Hollywood Reporter about my
(13:58):
time working with Diddy. So so everybody that has responded
to that, thank you very very much. So Kanye West
has a new fixation. And it's not a fashion line
or an album drop or even his wife Bianca. No,
it's not her latest look. It's Diddy's federal trial. Sources
tell me Kanye cannot stop talking about Diddy. He shows
(14:19):
up at court like it's a front row seat at
Paris Fashion Week. It's dark, but there's a sick part
of him that's actually jealous of all the attention that
Diddy is getting. Ye made headlines just last week when
he turned up at the court and I'm told he
will be back inside to say this is a very,
(14:39):
very calculated bit to insert himself into the drama. Kanye
wants the spotlight back. He's sitting in the courtroom stewing.
Diddy's scandal has dominated the headlines and Kanye can't bear
playing second fiddle. Expects something big, a bombshell interview track,
(15:01):
maybe even another marriage announcement. This is classic Kanye. When
the attention slips, he explodes, Oh I'm so sick of him. Okay,
we're gonna take a quick break and we will be
right back. Welcome back to the Naughty but naisham your
hand stump shooter. Hey, let's get to the polls that
(15:23):
that are. Last show we talked about tell us if
stunned as her private text will be exposed. A judge
rule that yes, her texts that Blake Lively could be
part of this legal case. Will she ever forgive Blake?
Let's have a look. Seventy five cent said, no, it's over.
It's got really really ugly here, and this this legal action,
(15:46):
it's something that could be very embarrassing. Taylor is one
of the most famous people in the world, but she
does have a private side about her and I really
respect her for that. Now all of this is gonna
be exposed. And she's done nothing wrong. She's just been
talking with a friend, texted a friend. It doesn't matter
what she says. She can say whatever she wants. This
is her relationship with her friend. These are private texts,
(16:08):
and I think it's just so sad that we've got
to this point. Blake, Oh, it's I don't know, I
get it. You wanna fight here, you wanna win this,
but in the process you're gonna lose one of the
best friends you ever had. Hey, don't forget to vote
on today's pole. Get a at Twitter page at naughteen
night Rob. Her facebook page is notaty gossip and be
(16:30):
sure to check back tomorrow to hear your results. And
now it's time for her nicest of the day or
big breaking news. So Beyonce is going full rock and
roll on her next album to honor black legends who
have never got their due. So after conquering the country
music world with her Grammy winning album Cowboy Canter, Queen
(16:51):
Bay is trading in her cowboy hat for a leather
jacket and an electric guitar. Let me explain. Sources tell
me exclusively that her next this album will be a
four throttle rock and roll album. It's gonna be her
most bold and most unapologetic era yet. So to say quote,
she's diving headfirst into rock and roll. Not rock pop,
(17:14):
not pop rock, not stop rock, I'll get it right,
but real gritty, guitar driven soul music. This is Beyonce
shining a spotlight on the black roots of rock and roll. Hey,
I cannot wait. If anybody can do this, it's Beyonce.
She's dabbled in everything R and B, hip hop, gospel country.
(17:36):
So it's no surprise that the thirty two time Grammy
winner is ready to dominate in yet another genre. And
nicest of the day, and now I'm naughty is the day? Naughty, naughty,
naughty naughty. And notice that it's a civil war that
is brewing over Arnold's Schwarzenegger's comments about immigrants within the
Kennedy family. So Arnold is under fire after remarks suggesting
(18:01):
that immigrants should act like quote guests in America, and
now the Kennedy family is focusing backlash for saying nothing.
Sources tell me quote Maria Maria Shriver, his ex wife
is very media savvey. She knows this is blowing up,
and yet she has said nothing. People inside the family
are battled. Why hasn't she spoken up? And what about
(18:22):
his son Patrick? Patrick Schwarzenegger has been all over the
press because of his breakout role in White Lotus, and
he has built a brand on inclusivity and activism. Yet
he's silent about his dad's controversial comments. I'm not saying
kids family members are responsible for comments that their parents,
that their relatives make. That is not what I'm saying
(18:44):
at all. But when somebody you're related to says something
that many people find out rageous, is it your responsibility
to speak up. The Kennedy family, a very public family
obviously known for politics, have been pretty silent about this,
and I'm inside the family. There's a lot of tension everybody.
(19:04):
Everybody doesn't really know what to say. Not many people
agree with Arnold, but they're torn. They don't want to
get into this debate. Sometimes you have to, Sometimes you
have to step up, even when it's really really uncomfortable
and the audiest of the day. Let's end with a
moment of Rob. You get a rub, You get a
rub your ub for twenty minutes or so fifteen twenty minutes.
(19:26):
We love giving you all the celebrity gossip, all the headlines,
but for a moment, we're a little bit more serious.
Today's moment over Rob. I can respect anyone who owns
their mistakes. I will always respect someone who can put
their ego to one side and say I made a mistake,
I apologize and I'm going to change accountability. It's rare,
(19:48):
but it's also powerful, and anyone who chooses it, they
deserve respect. Every single time when somebody apologizes when somebody
owns their mistake aches give them the grace to move forward. Hey,
that is it for today. Thank you so much for
(20:08):
listening to The Naughty but Nice with Rob and the
Naughty Show. You're the co host today. We're a production
of Hell Mister Ron and iHeartRadio. Don't forget to subscribe
on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you listen.
Leave us a review if you can. They really do
help and remember altogether. Now, if you're going to be naughty,
you've got to be let me hear you, Nic, it's
(20:33):
not even nice with Rom
