Speaker 1 (00:09):
Vice. It's nice, Hey lover, never love lo Hello, welcome
to the Naughty but Nicsia. I'm your house, rubshooter. It's Thursday.
Thursday's my favorite day for many many reasons, one of
which is we are joined by our dear friend Mark Lupo,
Hey LUPI, are you there? Loopy? Lewis here? Hey Ruby Loopy?
(00:31):
Did you see Stephen Cole there? Last night? He had
a surprise guess.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
I saw Prince Harry.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Prince Harry walked out. I thought he was adorable, you know,
doing this, doing shtick, doing stand up, and it's scripted.
It's quite difficult. He's not an actor, he's a prince,
and so I thought he did a pretty good job
some of the jokes. It's hard to deliver a joke
if you were not trained. It's hard to do anything
if you're not trained, and so I give him a pass.
It wasn't great, but I I love that he did it.
(01:01):
What are your thoughts about it?
Speaker 2 (01:02):
I mean, I just love that he's in on the
joke and it can have fun and poke fun on himself.
And yeah it was great.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah, well, making fun of holiday movies that are always
about a prince. It sucks me in. Every year, hallmart
if you are watching listening Gallo Almolo. Every year I'm
flicking through the channels. I always get to a Christmas movie.
There's always a prince involved, and so I think our
obsession with royals with holidays is a good thing. And
(01:29):
Harry joked that he'd love to do a Christmas movie.
You're going to hear today that Harry's making a Christmas movie.
It's absolutely not true. It's not true, but it is
not a terrible idea. Okay, let's jump into asha. What
time is it, my friends? It is tea time. So
our lead story today was going to be Megan Michael's
Christmas Special, which has come out. The teaser has come out. However,
(01:49):
bigger news has broke about Meghan and Harry, so we're
going to jump into that. Mark Harry is pushing Megan
to make peace with her dad, Thomas Markle before it's
too late. So sources tell me Harry is being gentle
but firm, urging Meghan to reach out to her father,
Thomas Markel, who is in intensive care in the Philippines
after going through emergency surgery. I'm told her dad's in
(02:12):
really bad shape. He lives in the Philippines now. He
wanted to get away. He's done some really dumb things,
selling stories to the media, talking too much. He just
wanted to get away from all that, so he moved
to the Philippines. He's not a well man. If you
just look at him, it's pretty clear. Mark. I think
he had a heart attack around the wedding, and that
was years ago. He hasn't lost any way. He doesn't
(02:33):
take that much good care of himself. But he is
a very, very sick man, and now he is in
the hospital, which really brings up the question what does
Megan do. There is no doubt Mark that Thomas Markle
has been a foolish, vain and dare I say, a
greedy man. But does that justify a total freeze out
from a daughter who sells compassion as a global product?
(02:57):
She does. It's like the Ellen brand. Ellen's brand was
about being kind and then we found out it really wasn't.
And so Megan here has spent a lot of time
talking about bullying, talking about compassion, talking about forgiveness. Does
that start at home?
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Oh, that's a great question, And I think we're missing
some context. We don't know exactly what the status of
their connection is currently. I would imagine it's still no contact.
I think it's hard, right, I mean, he's it's your
damn if you're due, Damn if you don't like if
she goes there and visits, he might tell the press
about that. If she doesn't, he's gonna speak about that.
You know. I've had experiences with him where I've called
(03:36):
him randomly as a reporter and he puts up the
phone and said mean things about her. I mean, if
she doesn't go, I kind of get it.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
Yeah, yeah, you can't trust him. It's really complicated here,
and all the mega haters are going to jump on
her regardless of what she does here. But think this
through for a minute. He really has betrayed her. He
used to call me. I mean I started calling him
and then I couldn't get rid of him. He called
me all the time. He was bored. He just called
me to say awful things about her. He's really really angry.
They have zero contact now, Harry. Though Harry has tried
(04:07):
to make peace with his dad. His dad is not
very well. We know King Charles has cancer. Harry went
over and had like a meeting with his dad. I'm
told they've made peace sort of, and Harry has not
betrayed that trust. We know very little about that meeting.
The problem with Toomusmarkle is if you go and meet
with him, there'll be a camera crew outside, and then
(04:28):
he'll probably have inside addition in the room where he'll
be selling it for some money. So it's the boy
that cried wolf here, isn't it. How many times do
you trust somebody? It doesn't matter if it's a dad
or a friend, somebody you work with, how many times
do you trust them? I always give a lot more
leeway to family, to blood relatives, then I probably would
(04:49):
have friends. There are relatives of mine that I probably
would not talk to if they were not blood relatives.
If there were just somebody I worked with or met
in a bar or something, I wouldn't really want them
in my life life. And as I do get that,
but you can't get away from the fact he is
her dad. I think she should probably put out a
statement talking about how complicated this is. I would write
(05:10):
an essay if I was her, for Vanity Fair or
for The New Yorker, talking about holidays are coming up,
how complicated families can be and she loves her dad,
but she just can't let him into her life. When
my dad was dying, Mark, I went back to Britain
three times to say goodbye, and I'm so glad I didn't.
(05:30):
I'm so glad we had a complicated relationship, having a gay,
disabled son like me with a bad arm. That's a
lot for a man of my dad's background to take
on a working class kid in the Midlands. In England,
he did not expect a son as fabulous. I was
just a lot, and so we do have complicated relationships.
(05:52):
Miley Cyrus said once, and it really really struck me.
It stuck with me Mark. She said, when you stop
thinking of your parents as pair parents and start thinking
in them as human beings, as real people. Check they
have their own fears, they have their own desires, they
have their own excitement, they have stuff that triggers them,
they have their own worries. And when you start realizing
(06:14):
that life gets better. This is so complicated. I think Harry,
who's softer than Megan. Let's be honest here, anybody that's
had any interaction with them, Harry is quite a soft
soul here. He gets a little angry sometimes but I
think going and seeing his dad makes total sense. Meghan's tough,
and I'm not saying that's any disrespect. I like strong women.
Meghan's not rushing to the Philippines until she knows that
(06:38):
A this is really serious and B there's some guarantees
that she's not going to be ambushed when she gets
off the plane. Her half sister's there and we know
there that's trouble. Trouble are her half brothers there? And
so I feel for Meghan on this one. But boy,
is she in a tricky position, which brings us to
our whole question of the day once again. Thomas Markle
(06:59):
has been far, She's been vain, He's been greedy, But
does that justify being totally froze out by your daughter,
potentially on your deathbed? Who sells compassion as a global product?
That's Megan's thing, compassion. It's tricky, Mark. What do you
think should she go and see her d Yes or no?
(07:21):
It's a big, big topic today. Go vote on our
Twitter page at Naughty Nice rob Our facebook page is
Naughty Gossip. Be sure to check back tomorrow. This is
a good one to hear your results. Okay, Lupy what
are you working on?
Speaker 2 (07:35):
Yes, so some happier news here. Miley Cyrus has planned
to propose to her now fiance Max Morando until he
beat her to it. So the sourus is close to
the couple say, Cyrus has been discreetly planning her own
proposal for weeks, gathering ring inspiration and discussing timelines with
her trusted friends. Now During the couple's recent trip to Asia,
(07:56):
which Cyrus described as a rare moment of Saren under
in control, Morandeau got down on one knee before she
could execute her plan. She thought she'd be the one
doing the surprising, one insider said, But she was told
friends she wants to propose before the end of the year.
I know a couple of minut on a blind eight
years ago, lived together since twenty twenty four. It had
(08:18):
already discussed marriage at length, and friends, hay, Cyrus has
been deeply in love and deeply settled for more than
a year.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Oh what do you think? So it's so so cute.
Remember that song flowers. I love her song flowers. She
does not need anybody buying her flowers, she can buy
them herself. So this totally ties into that Miley's a
strong person. She ain't waiting for someone to propose to her.
If she wants to propose, she will do it, and
I've told she very much did. She's also somebody that
(08:44):
I don't think you surprised, like she's had a really
ugly breakup at a really nasty divrse. I think you
have to be like, are you ready to maybe do
this against that I'm here. There'd been lots of conversationation,
so she was on GMA. She was great, saying how
surprise she was. Friends called me and they're like, well, sort
of surprise, Like the moment was surprising, but she knew
they'd had a conversation about this, because you don't want
(09:07):
to propose to somebody and then they say, oh, I'm
never getting married again. I had a really ugly divorce
and I don't like. Bobby Flay was recently on TV
saying I've tried marriage I think two or three times
and it's not working for me, so I'm not going
to do it again. And his girlfriend was in the
room when he said that, so you do sort of know,
so he tested the waters. I do love that she
she was preparing to do this and he'd beat up.
(09:29):
I had that with Bruce. Bruce proposed to me shortly
after gay marriage was the law at least in New York,
not the law of the land. But shortly after that,
Bruce popped the question. I was planning to ask him,
but I was waiting for the weekend, and so technically
I know excuse. So he technically did propose to me.
But it wasn't as if I had had thoughts about, Oh,
(09:52):
should we do it in Central Park? Or where should
we go? The Highlight I love or maybe at Katsy's
Deli I love myself for PASTI Where should we do?
Bruce proposed in our literal room. I think we were
watching Jeopardy, which doesn't sound that romantic, but it was
really lovely. Mark. Now you've been with Kevin Jonas. I
know your private life is your private life. So we're
gonna tread very kid and your mummy listens to the So, Hello,
(10:15):
storries you and Kevin? Has there been any talk? Would
they be talk or would it be a surprise?
Speaker 2 (10:22):
You know, it's funny. I don't Me and Kevin don't
talk about marriage because we don't another. Neither one of
us want to get married right at least right away. Yeah,
so it's not like a priority. But it's a sweet idea.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
It's a sweet idea. But I do think that's really interesting.
And that's the Miley tell there. You both know you
don't want to do it. Yeah, but that's a good
conversation to have. If Miley did not want to get
married and he proposed, how awkward is that because then
you're like, oh, no, are we going to stay together? No?
Or should we break up? Or I was really happy
with things. Have the conversations, everybody, There's nothing wrong with this.
(10:54):
I have friends who had conversations about having children. We
have conversations me and Bruce about where we're going for
in the tonight, so we could certainly have a conversation
about the really big stuff. By it, it makes me happy.
I want you to be happy. These two are a
cute pair. Okay, moving along, We've got some exclusive news here.
So remember the Netflix documentary by fifty cent about Diddy.
(11:15):
It came out just a few days ago. Well, there's
some really really interesting footage in the documentary and nobody
can understand how fifty cent got his hands on it.
So this private footage of Diddy in a hotel room
actually talking to his lawyer, So maybe that could be
a confidential conversation. When I worked with Puff, he had
camera crew's, videographers, photographers following him around pretty much all day.
(11:37):
It was almost embarrassing. I went to his house once
and it was early in the morning and someone's videoing
him like just he enjoyed to be on camera. Now,
because Puffy was cheap, he never really paid them and
so he never signed a contract. So the photographers would
send me pictures after the event, but I couldn't release
the until Puff paid, and it was a little tricky
getting the money out of Puff. Now, his cheapness apparently
(12:00):
has bit him in the bottom because that footage that
was filmed in a hotel room, It was not filmed
at Bottlenos, It was not filmed on the street. It's
in a hotel room, so it's a very closed environment.
That ended up in fifty cents documentary on Netflix because
they bought the rights to it, and the only people
you could buy them from did he wasn't selling them,
(12:22):
was clearly the videographer. So be careful here. If you're
going to allow somebody to follow you around, make sure
you sign a contract before you start filming. Make sure
you own that footage, make sure you pay for that footage.
The other thing too, that's interesting about this is that
did his lawyers are calling you to legal footage stolen footage. However, Mark,
We've worked for some really big companies. Netflix do not
(12:44):
play about like this. You can't put a photograph on television.
When I had my morning show on v H one,
we had lawyers and I could not show a photograph
on the Telly unless I had the rights to it.
So there's no way that Netflix were like, well, just
wing this, We'll just there the footage. No, this is
all cleared through Netflix and lawyers. And that's how I'm
(13:07):
told they got the footage. What do you think? I mean?
Speaker 2 (13:09):
I love it, and it's true rub clearing photos music,
it's a beast and it's they don't make mistakes in
that way. I will say, though, this is the ultimate
harmor for him, and it's just you know, it highlights
his narcissism. He was recording himself as he's about to
get arrested, and here you go. You shared this gift
with all of us.
Speaker 1 (13:28):
So this gift when I was working with Puff those
months and months he didn't pay my bill. And I
was working for a big company and the accountants and
the head of the company would call me and say,
the whole team has to stop all work on Diddy
till we get a check. And it was so awkward.
I'd have to call him and say, Puff, we can't
do any work on your account. And they did have to,
(13:49):
like messenger a check over that morning. I'd have to
send an intern up to his account. It was really strange.
You think that these big companies would be really buttoned up,
but sloppy, sloppy, sloppy, And this is okay, this story
makes me a little bit sad. So Christopher Schwarzenegger has
lost a tunnel wight. He was always adorable, but now
he's getting mistaken for somebody that clearly triggers him.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
Yes, So, sources connected to the Schwarzenegger family tell us
that Christopher Schwarzenegger was privately upset after being widely mistaken
online for his half brother Joseph Benea recent photos. And
I mean, not gonna lie, I kind of I thought
the same, So.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
I thought he did.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
The mixup sparked viral speculation about the supposed Galoa, prompting
comparisons that insider say Christopher found uncomfortable and discouraging. He
spent years focusing on his personal health and confidence, and
he had hoped that the public appearance would be received
on its own terms instead of Social media quickly flooded
posts attributing his photos to his half brother.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
He did look like him and this half brother. It's
really messy. If you remember, his dad cheated on the
maid Mildred and he was married at the time to
Maria Schneider, and then Mildred out of the Sun and
there was a photograph of the Sun who was like fifteen.
We're like, he looked just like Arnold, and even Maria,
even Maria was like that baby that my maid's baby
(15:13):
looks like my I mean, we all knew Arnold was
the father. Well, no wonder, Christopher looks like his half brother.
Arnold clearly has strong jeans, strong DNA. They do look similar.
Book God, Good Grief talk about being triggered, because it's
not it's not that you don't like look like someone
that's handsome. It's flattering to say you look like this
guy is a really hot guy. The problem is is
(15:35):
that you know how that guy came into existence, and
it involves the maid and in invulsion mother, it involves Mildred,
it involves Maria. Oh, sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. You can't you
can't ever get away with it. Every time Chris looks
in the mirror he sees Joseph's face, it's just, oh,
breaks my heart a little bit. Okay, we're going to
(15:56):
take a quick break and we will be right back.
Welcome back to the naughty but nic Sham your hair
strum Shooter with our dear friend Mark Lupo. Hey LOUPI,
let's get to the polls done, don da. So Matt
Loward does indeed want to make a media come back.
People Magazine had this big revelation that he wants to
come back. No, yeah, we all knew that. The problem
(16:17):
is what he wants to come back to doesn't exist anymore.
Matt has been out of the business eight years now
and it's changed. He's not going to be Don Lemon,
He's not doing a YouTube show. He's not going to
be Megan Kelly saying really controversial stuff to get viewers.
That's just not who Matt is. So where does he go.
CNN didn't want him, Fox News don't want that. Networks
aren't going to hire him. So unless he's willing to
(16:38):
start a podcast or go on a reality show or
walk around the street asking people questions like Donnie's doing,
I love it, but that is not that loud. DoD
was always sloppy, even when he was at CNN, he
pretended to be quite polished. But the done you see
now is like the brick that you see. It's the
true it's the true version of him. Matt. I've met
Matt many many times. I've had dinner with him. I've
been at house parties with him. He's quite He's not
(17:01):
sloppy like that, and so I just don't see this return.
But my question was, would you watch him if Matt
came back, would you watch him? Let's have a look. Ooh,
seventy five percent said no. Over Matt Lauer, I think,
I think, I think I am too. I liked him
on the show, but I got to admit those accusations
did sting, and I was like, oh, I would feel
a little a little sloppy watching him now. Okay, don't
(17:22):
forget to vote on Today's paul A Tough question today,
make a markl and her dad. Mark, I could go
either way on that one. You said that I could.
I understand why she's not jumping on the plane, but
he's still it's your dad and he's really, really sick.
So go vote on our Twitter page at Naughty Nice
rob at facebook page is Naughty Gossip and be sure
to chair by Dammar rou to hear your results. And now,
(17:44):
oh this is a serious one, but it is the
nicest of the day.
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Oh wow. So Sidney Crawford has been laser focused on
supporting her son Presley. Let me explain why So is
close to Sydney, tell me and tell us the podcast
that the supermodel is prioritizing her son Presley above all
else as he continues to speak out publicly about his
personal struggles. Now, family insiders say cropperd has embraced a
(18:12):
full focused, full support approach, encouraging honesty and emphasizing emotional
safety over public perception.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Wow. Well, because in the video shock It, he put
out a video clearly struggling. A lot of people were like, oh,
I embarrassing for his family. I'm told the opposite, Cindy
is not embarrassed. This is happening. She's got to help
and all she cares about is protecting her son. It
must be awful to grow up being Cindy Crawford Randy
Goebbers so and you think of all the good things
about it, all the money or the prestige, all the privilege,
(18:42):
but it's also, well, what are you going to do
with your life? A few years ago we got a
face tattoo, and remember we were like, good grief, what's
going on? And they sort of downplayed it. Now I'm
told Cindy and the family are not downplaying this. They
know it's serious and they're there to help him and
they want transparacy. Would they rather him stay offline and
do this privately? Course every parent would, but that is
not what's going to happen here. Hey, you're sending you
(19:04):
our best and nan I naughty is the day, naughty, naughty, naughty.
I love this. Simon Cowl and Ryan Seacrest feud is
heated up. So I knew for a long time, but
they were not that close. They got on each other's
nerves a little bit. So Simon sort of takes complete
credit for discovering Ryan. If you remember American Idol did
put him on the map. I've never heard of Ryan
Seacrest until American Idol, and Simon was sort of the
(19:25):
boss of that show, so he really thinks he invented Ryan. Well,
Ryan's gone on to tremendous success, and he was asked
recently about Ryan, and he said that he always wanted
to be famous, and he does not really follow Ryan's career.
That's a dick. How can you not? He's everywhere? And
so we had a little bit of a dig here.
Industry sources tell me that Ryan thinks Simon uses him
(19:47):
as a punchline when he wants to get attention. He's
tired of it, and another added that Simon's comments stem
from a sense of ownership over his early career. These two,
what makes this so funny is they're both doing so well.
There's no losers like. They're both worth millions and millions
of dollars. They're both super super successful. So you two
(20:08):
go to war and I will sit back and enjoy
every minute of it. It's fascinated, isn't it? Here? A
little tension. We knew about it, Mark, but now it's
act in the open.
Speaker 2 (20:17):
I thought it was a joke, honestly, but you know
I've met Simon before and he does not care. He
has no cares. So I believe all this.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
I believe all of it. Let's said, with the moment
of rob, you're gonna rob, you gonna rob, You're gonna rob,
you get a rob, don't take this the wrong way?
That have you ever said that? Mark, don't take this
the wrong way? Don't say this is the wrong way.
I've said it so many times. It has a zero
success rater zero because the moment you say it, someone's
brain goes into defensive mode. If I say to you, Mark,
(20:47):
don't take this the wrong way. Both before I've even
told you the butt, you're in defensive mode. So stop
out sourcing your discomfort to a disclaimer, because that's basically
what it is. It's a disclaimer because you're uncomfortable. If
something matters, say it, say it with clarity and kindness
and ownership. Try this and stead here's what I'm feeling.
Here's while this is important. When you drop that protective
(21:11):
pre amble, then you build some trust instead of tension.
So once again, let's let's get rid of the phrase
don't take this the wrong way because it has zero
success rate. Hey, that is it for today. Thank you
so much for listening. They're not a Bit Nice with
Rob and Mark Show, a production of Elvis Duran and iHeartRadio.
(21:32):
Don't forget to subscribe on the iHeartRadio ap Apple podcast.
