Speaker 1 (00:08):
Shore, it's time nice and low and low. Welcome to
the naughty but nice Show. I'm from Shooter and it's Thursday,
which means I dear friend Mark Glooper joins us. Hey,
Loopy are there, Loopy? Lewis here Hereopy? Oh? Thank you
for your kind not. I've been feeling sick a week
(00:29):
on Monday. It's a miracle that I got a show
at mark Us croaking away. So if you've not listened
to Monday's show, don't it sounds awful? Mark? My voice
I sound like I've been up all night drinking Scancheons,
smoking Marlborough lights, I which I haven't been. But I'm
feeling much better. I know I still sound a little
bit croaky, But it's just a cold, Isn't it awful
(00:52):
when you get a summer cold. It's just a summer cold,
it is.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
But the rescue voice is kind of nice.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Don't you be getting any ideas? Let me tell you that. Okay,
let's jump into the show where time is in My friends,
it is tea time. So Malcolm Jamal Warner died a hero,
let me say it. His daughter, eight years old, was
pulled from the rip current as the Cosby star drowned
and the rescuer around them carried on. So it is
(01:18):
so heartbreaking clear we're getting many, many more, many many
more details. Malcolm Jamal Warner died while trying to rescue
his daughter. Let's make that very very clear. It is
a heartbreaking end to what was meant to be a
family vacation. Obviously, Warner, who was fifty four years old,
(01:39):
that's all, fifty four years old, is best known as
the Lovabler, theo Huxtabuller. He was swimming with his eight
year old daughter and they got into trouble in the ocean.
It was clear that there were struggling, Mark, and now
we know some local surfers they saw them struggling. The
local surfers in Costa Rico knew this was quite a
dangerous beach. The water around here, the currents are very
(02:03):
very strong, so they immediately jumped in to help. One
surfer used his board to bring the child to safety.
The other surfer tried to get Warner. Eventually they did,
but by the time they saved him, and they worked
on him for forty five minutes, they realized that the
(02:23):
actor could not be revived. Mark. This is another layer
to this awful, awful tragedy. But he was swimming with
his daughter. The two of them were in the ocean together.
I'm going to choose to believe Mark that he saved
his daughter rather than himself. This is just a heartbreaking story.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
It's horrific, and you know, the family will never be
the same, and his core driughter. She's only eight years
old to see her father, you know, loss life and
what you said, this family vacation. It's just it's heartbreaking.
But you know, I will say he is Now that
he has passed, you realize his legacy, how much he
impacted the world, not just his inner family, but people.
(03:07):
The outpouring support for him is pretty incredible. And you know,
as they're looking more into the story and figuring out
how this happened, you know, wondering if he missed the
signs that said do not swim, you know they're saying that,
you know, a rip current can be unpredictable. They're no
two alike, and so I would imagine, you know, he
tried his best to save himself as his daughter, but
(03:30):
it's just too much.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
It's too much. You can't win this. It is not
even if you're a really good swimmer. I think often
people just don't understand how could somebody drown somebody fifty
four years old and in great physical shape out in
the ocean. You cannot compete with nature. These currents, these
riptides are something that is so so powerful a human being.
(03:53):
It doesn't matter if you're Michael Phelps. You could be
the best swimmer in the world and you are not
gonna outswim this. Thank goodness, there were some local heroes
there too, some surfers who spotted them in trouble. They
probably realized, oh my goodness, they're way too far out.
They should be closer to the beach. They probably had
an eye on them. They saw both dad and daughter struggling.
(04:14):
They jumped on their boards. Thankfully, the first server to
the scene. He got the daughter, just eight years old,
up on that board back to shore. And then you've
got to just wonder what was she watching when she
was on the shore watching people try to rescue her dad.
And then they did get the dad back to the sand.
They got him back to the shore, and then they
(04:36):
worked on him for forty five minutes. It's quite a
remote area, so it took a while for medical services
to get there. So it was these hero surfers. She
watched this. Now, Mark, you've said something so interesting. I
spoke to a friend of Warner's last night and they said,
part of the legacy here is he has thankfully changed
(04:56):
the conversation about the Cosby Show. And once again, now
we were allowed to look at this show. We're allowed
to talk about this show. And even though Bill Cosby
is a very controversial person and we should not forget that,
the quality of the work and what this show did
was extraordinary. To show a black family, a successful black family,
a family full of lawyers and doctors, was a new
(05:19):
way to show people that really were living that life.
It was not a lie. We just never ever showed it.
And so I think now I really stayed away from
the Cosby Show after the trial, after all the allegations
against Bill Cosby, I just sort of erased it. Now
I think we can look at it again and put
(05:39):
him maybe built up to one side, but look at
the tremendous work that other people did on the show.
And so I think that might be part of his
legacy here is that once again we can rethink how
we feel about the Cosby Show.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
You're one hundred percent right. You know, he would always
say that he was proud of what he did. He
was proud of the work, and he shot away from
the criticism. He didn't you know, he understands why people
feel a certain way. But I think now, like you said,
we can appreciate it. It's a new found appreciation for
what he's shared.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
With the world. Yeah, I hope somebody sets up a
fund for this young girl who are eight years old.
She saw it. Let's let's be clear here, she saw,
she was there, she was part of it. She didn't
just see it. She was in this disaster. She's very,
very lucky that there was a surfer there, or this
story might be even more tragic. I think now moving forward,
(06:32):
she's going to need some help. Let's hope financially there's
money there for that. If you're listening, Bill Cosby, I
am alone, maybe some of those millions you have, you
could set up a foundation here and try to do
some good out of all this ugliness. And so it
is just so heartbreaking when I found out that the
daughter was there. This is this is new reporting. We
(06:54):
did not know this. We knew they were on vacation together,
and just to show you how private Warner Warner was.
We don't even know her name. He would never ever
reveal his daughter's name. That was his private life. He
knew what it was like to be famous at a
young age, and he didn't want that for his family.
(07:14):
It's so sad too. You know.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
On Instagram he was talking about a starter. It was
her birthday recently and he left this such a beautiful
message for her, and I think that's something she can
always have now and the memories that she has of
her dad. He really loved her, He really cared, and
it seemed like he was a great dad and he
was full of life. He just launched a podcast last year,
and he had a lot of ambitions. He's been on
a bunch of hit shows since The Cosby the Show,
(07:38):
and he hit a lot to contribute to the world.
And it's just said that it was cut short.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
So so sad. There's no poll today. We don't do
polls on stories like this, So let's move along to
our next story. Mark Jennifer Lopez is just getting started. Wow,
I think it's a birthday today. Jennifer turns fifty six.
I think today, Happy birthday, Jenny. If you're listening. Hello, Hello, Hello,
What is she up too much? Oh?
Speaker 2 (08:00):
Happy birthday, Jennifer. She is loving the attention and your right, Rob,
it's not gonna stop. So it's never gonna stop. After
studying the Lucas Summer Festival stage ablaze with her raunchy
confessions and break up anthems aimed squarely at her ex
husband Ben Affleck, insiders are telling Shooter Scoop the fifty
five year old has no plan to tone it down,
(08:22):
a sort of spill that Jennifer loves. The attention, headlines,
the outrage, the buzz. This is the most relevant she's
felt years, and she's gonna ride this wave all the
way to the top.
Speaker 1 (08:33):
Wow. I love this. It is who Jennifer is. Anybody
who thinks that Jennifer is Mary Poppins, he's a fool.
It makes me laugh. I think Meggan ally is calling
her a porn star. Megan, where have you been? This
is Jennier Remember the green Massachie dress. Jennifer has been
rewarded throughout her career as Madonna has on Britney Spears
(08:55):
by being a little launchy and so they're not gonna
take that away. It is who they are. I think
the reason it works for Jennifer is because it is
a authentic. If Julie Andrews had started doing this to
get a top ten record, we'd be like, oh my goodness,
but this is not Julie Andrews. This is Jennifer Lopez.
This is who she is. I've spent time with her.
(09:15):
I worked with her. She is a very flirtatious, a
very sexual, very loud person like this is her in neutral.
She doesn't go home and put on sweatpants. She is Jlo.
She is Jenny from the blog, and I think in
a really inspiring way. To see somebody who's in there
now mid fifties fifty six, So is that the late fifties,
(09:38):
after fifty five, I don't know, but it's in their fifties.
To see them out there look in this fabulous You've
got to tip your hat to her. That doesn't happen
by accident. When I worked with Jennifer, she worked out.
She worked harder than anybody I've ever met. Yes, she's lucky,
she's blessed with DNA. She has incredible genes. But it's
(09:58):
not just that mark. If she sat on the couch
like me in her target deass. She wouldn't look like Jaelo.
Even with that DNA, she still has to put in
the work. I foolishly went to the gym with her once.
Oh ma oh, she was like a machine. I barely
set on a I didn't even get on a tread
but I got on a bicycle and I did a
(10:21):
few little lap back and just like the legs went
up and down. I barely break a sweat. I looked
to my left, that one is hauling rocks around the gym.
It's just it's a machine, and not for ten minutes.
Like I was bored. After ten minutes, I wanted to
go outside and read a book. She went for two
hours in that gym. I'm told she went every single day.
(10:42):
She doesn't take a day off. She really care for
what she eats. She's careful what she drinks. And that's
why she's Jaylo. And you know what, if I looked
that good at any age, Mark in my twenties, if
I look that good, I'd want to be a bit
of a show off too, wouldn't you. I'm not that
flashy personally when it comes to style. There are you, Mark,
We're not flashy sexy. We don't wear the really tight
(11:04):
clothes a lot of our friend's friends do. But I
do get it. If I look that good, maybe I would.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Well, you know your point, Rob. I interviewed her trainer
once and he said that she would work out even
after a twelve to fifteen hour day. At three in
the morning, she would go to the gym like this
is a priority. And she looks truly incredible's incredible, and
she eats healthy. She eats a vegan, she has purified water.
She doesn't just drink tap water. She drinks very, very
specific water. And it shows she's really taking care of herself.
(11:31):
And I just question if she was in her twenties
when making Kelly have the same issue with her.
Speaker 1 (11:36):
That she does now. I just why not enjoy it?
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Flaanta to have.
Speaker 1 (11:39):
Fun with it, enjoy it, enjoy it, flaunt it. This
is who she is. It's no surprise. This is who
Jennifer is. Okay, Megan Marckl is scrambling for a new
TV project, So we reported first that her Netflix deal
is over one hundred million dollars. It's come to an end.
They're not renewing it. Nothing has been that successful for them.
In fact, let's be honest with love. Mega didn't do
(12:00):
very well at all his Polo series, his documentary. Nobody
watched it. And that's what these streaming networks, all networks
want is for people to watch. If you watch, if
you get millions of hits, they keep giving you the money.
If nobody wantches, then they dry up. So this deals
come to an end. Thank you for the Daily Mail
(12:21):
for crediting me. I saw other people did it and
they didn't credit me. Who you are alone? But we
broke the story first. But now let's push the story
a little bit forward because I hit the phones and
my sources said, she is scrambling to find another project.
This is Megan. I like this about Meghan. Meghan does
not stop. So when Meghan gets bad news, she doesn't
(12:42):
hide in the dishwasher like she is on it Mark.
She's on Earth. So she's looking for other opportunities. She's
looking at scripted unscripted reality documentary. If you basically got
a camera, Meghan wants in. I did chuckle though, because
once friend of her said to me, at this point,
she should take a seat on the view asks hot.
It's not a bad idea, it's not.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
But I have a confession to make rub I have
Harry and Megan fatigue. I just am tired. I am
really tired of this. And I think this is the
Universe's way of saying, Megan, take a seat for a
second and think about what is the next rate move.
Don't just jump into the view or anything else. I think,
what do you really want? What's your next step?
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Mark, that's so smart. I think I'm tired of them too.
This story would have been the lead story on our
show six months ago. Megan and Harry stuff. We just
couldn't get enough of, Mark, we were doing stories on them.
Well let's be honest, there was really not that much
of a story, but we still were fascinated by them.
I'm not that interested in them anymore. Like they still
(13:45):
you know, we'll still cover them. We still do them
on the show, particularly when we break the news about them.
But I think you're right, Mark, I'm just a little
over it. It just feels now like quiet, just for
a minute, just quiet, and then when you have something
to say. That's the problem. Mark, It's not the amount
of time they've been in my head. It's the amount
(14:05):
of time they've been in my head. And said nothing.
Come back when you've got something to say, come back
when you've got an opinion, come back when you know
what you want to do next. It just all feels
like noise, just all noise, and it's the same nonsense,
and they're not gonna say anything. And you know, since
the Oprah interview, they've not really said anything that interesting.
(14:26):
That Oprah interview set to the bar maybe too high
after that. I don't know if you could go anywhere else.
It was so amazing, and so maybe it's time to
just take a seat, which you know, Mark is almost
impossible for.
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Making it's impossible. And I think Netflix was really smart
and that deal they broke hen it's because they wanted
the documentary. It's one of the most watch documentaries of
all time. And since then it just has kind of
gone downhill. And you know, the podcast got canceled recently.
This is the Seals ending. She has to figure out
what she can say and make an impact. Just have
(15:00):
a white noise. When your TV asks you are you
still watching this show? Because I wasn't.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
I've walked out of the TV. Hasn't You've got a
problem which TV is reminding you to watch a show?
No it's over. Oh it breaks my heart. I don't
wish them bad here, neither do you, Mark crying to
them on the show. They just haven't figured out who
they are or what they want to do or I
don't really know what they do do at the moment.
And maybe they'll pull it together, but I think a
(15:26):
moment out of the spotlight would probably help. Okay, we're
going to take a moment out of the spotlight while
we take a quick break, and we will be right back.
Welcome back to the naughty but nice arm and Shoot
with their do friend, Mark lupa, Hey Loopy, let's get
to the poles. Last year we talked about Malcolm Jamald
Warner's family in turmoil, not only because of this tragic passing,
(15:50):
but they've got a funeral now to put together. And
the question was is should they invite Bill Cosby? Should
Bill Cosby, who was a major part of Malcolm's young life,
should be he be invited to the funeral? We know
the body has been released, it's on its way back
to California. What should what should they do about the funeral? Mark?
(16:11):
If he turns up, it's going to be a circus.
If Bill Cosby is at this funeral. My goodness, that's
going to be a major distraction. However, if he's not there,
he was a major part of his life. It's a
complicated question, isn't it. That's why we asked it. Should
Bill Cosby be invited to the funeral? Sixty percent said no,
Maybe a private viewing, Maybe he should get his moment
(16:34):
to say goodbye. But I think having him there in
front of everybody, that that's that's very difficult.
Speaker 2 (16:39):
What do you think, Well, it's kind of like how
Kylie and Kendall Jenner didn't show up to their brother's
wedding because it didn't want to overshadowy quote unquote. Yeah,
I mean Bill Cosby at this point, he's blind, and
I think he's really controversial if they have a private
moment where he can just show up and the camera's
aren't there and he's you know, whistle away in a
black carrifying, or maybe he sets up something private at
his own home and they have a gathering there. But yeah,
(17:01):
I think it would be.
Speaker 1 (17:02):
A distraction, a distraction, I agree. Don't forget to vote
on today's Paul Will go to a Twitter page at
Naughty Nice. Roma page is naughty gossip. I'm be sure
to check back tomorrow to hear your results and that.
Oh it's time for the noisiest out of the day.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Oh, you're gonna You're gonna let this one rob. It's
Gwyneth Paltrow. You really to So Gwyneth Paltrow is no
stranger to reinvention, An insider say her latest transformation is
a strategic masterclass in misdirection. So the fifteen two year
old Goop guru raised eyebrows this week after appearing in
(17:41):
a new Instagram cooking video looking noticeably plumper in her
lips and should have Scoop is revealing that it's not
about the lips, it's about the timing. The sources are
saying she's a genius at changing the conversation. There's a
damning unauthorized biography on the way, and Gwyneth knows how
to divert attention.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Oh it's so brilliant. Yesterday we were talking all about
this biography and all the little secrets in there's some
big secret. So now we're talking about Gwene's plastic surgery. Why,
because Gwenneth wants us to be She posted this video
and she's just looking strange in the video on purpose.
Let me out. She knows a camera angles. She's a
movie star, she's an asking winner. She knows good light
and a bad lighting when Gwena wants to change the subject.
(18:23):
I have so much respect for her. She's such a publicist,
she's such a marketing expert. I know she'd never do it,
but my goodness, she would make a fabulous real housewife
like she just would. She would slaughter those ladies. You
think Bethan is tough. Gwene felt nicest for a naughty reason.
But I'm nicest of the day, and now I noticed
(18:44):
the day. Naughty, naughty, naughty. Have you heard of this
mark the hung smile? It is taking over Hollywood. Let
me explain this. It's a little bit cheeky, but I
think I can do it in a way that won't
embarrass everybody. There is a new smile out there that
apparently is a dead give away that a gentleman is
very well endowed. So Chris Evans has the smile, John
(19:06):
Hamm has the smile. Pete Davidson has the smile. It's
almost a smirk. It's not full teeth, it's not Tom
Cruise it's a smirk, it's a confident look. It's a
little bit of swagger. And so now people are saying
that this is an actual thing. People are practicing this
(19:28):
hung smile in the mirror, Mark, and so I think
we're gonna hear a lot of this new trend moving forward.
I know it's cheeky, and you know I hate to
talk about this thing, but beyond the lookout for a
hung smile. Okay, let's say with a moment of rub
you rub, you gotta rub, you get a rub. Don't
change your heart, change who you share it with, because
(19:49):
you are not the problem. The problem is giving your
heart to people who don't know how to hold it.
Don't harden, don't shut down, and don't you dare dim
your lif light. Protect your heart, but don't erase it.
Your heart is not the issue. It's who you might
give it to. Be careful, be careful, don't change your heart,
(20:12):
change who you share it with. You have a great heart. Hey,
that is it for today. Thank you so much for
listening to Naughty but Nice with Rob and Mark show,
a production of Alvis Duran and iHeartRadio. Don't forget to
subscribe on the iHeartRadio, app, Apple Podcast, whereever you listen,
leave us a review if you can, and remember altogether.
(20:32):
Now let me hear you're singing along, if you're going
to be long tang your gat town. They not nice.
They are ready. It's not even nice with Rah
