Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s much-hyped Netflix “renewal” is more smoke than fire, with insiders insisting the PR spin far outweighs any real payday. Meanwhile, Chris Hemsworth’s 42nd birthday in Ibiza brought out a galaxy of stars — Matt Damon, Rita Ora, Taika Waititi, Liam Hemsworth — but notably left Ben Affleck off the guest list. And back in New York, Pete Davidson’s claims of feeling like an outsider on Saturday Night Live aren’t winning sympathy, with sources saying the cast is tired of him being “more famous for dating than comedy.”

Instinct magazine’s Corey Andrew joins Rob with all the dish! Don't forget to vote in today's poll on Twitter at @naughtynicerob or in our Facebook group.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Sure, it's love and love No.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Welcome to the Naughty but Nice Show. I have your host,
Romp Shooter and it's Friday, which means our dear dear
friend Corey. Andrew joins us. Hey, Corey, are you there?

Speaker 1 (00:24):
I am here? Hello everyone, Happy Friday.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Happy Friday, Corey. I have a new gig. Thanks to you,
I am now a contributor to Instinct Magazine. Corey. That's
how we met, Corey. You've been working for them for
years now. It's such a smart website. It is so smart.
It covers all the sexy stuff. Don't worry so if
you want to see cute boys without their shirts on cover,

(00:49):
but also too, just like more in depth, more smart,
more I don't say serious, but stories that sort of
matter and real think pieces, things that have made me think, wow,
what do I think about that? Yeah? I'm so happy.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
Oh well, gosh, we are so happy to have you
and it's my pleasure to introduce you to the team
and have you on board now. And you're right, it's
a smart magazine, smart online magazine. Ash's dress and we
try to cover it all and smart pieces, politics and
of course the sexy boys.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
So you know, check it out on that side. My
first story is up. It's Live Instinct Magazine dot com.
It's Eliza Manelli. Oh, I've met her. I used to
work with her a little bit, and so it's some
real kind. It's not a mean sight. It's not Perez Hilton. No, no,
we don't do that. We don't do that. And this
is like it almost reminds me of Entertainment Weekly, a

(01:40):
day version of People magazine. Okay, us Weekly. Like it's smart,
we love that, it's not trashy, but it certainly has
a lot of juice. So yeah, check it out Instinctmagazine
dot com. Both Corey and I look at this. We've
just been a commercial for them. Isn't that funny? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:57):
But it's so great though, because, like you're to your point,
I did start with them, and that helped me actually
get with you because you saw some.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Stuff I was reading. I've read this, honestly, I've read
this site for a long time. I'm not just saying
it because now I'm working for them. The reason I'm
working for them is that I like them, And so
it was a really great sight. And I noticed that
all the stories I was reading had the same Byeline
Cory Andrew, and I was like, I gotta find out.
I had no idea who you were. I've got to

(02:24):
find out who this guy is. And that's how we started.
That's so great. Yeah, thank you, thank you. Check it out,
jump into what time is it? My friends? It is
big story at the top of the show. So Harry
and Megan have removed the Netflix deal. However, it seems
to be all smoke and no fire. So I've got

(02:44):
the real, real inside details about this deal and it's
not really a very good deal. So their five year,
one hundred million dollar deal is over. That's a great deal.
Oh gosh, Yeah, that's a great deal. And it's been
replaced by what in business is called a first look agreement. Okay,
but what this basically means is that you you send

(03:05):
them all your projects. They get to have a look
at it first and decide what they want to buy
and what they don't, and they only pay if they
buy it. So it's sort of like assignment that you
send them stuff and if I like it, I'll buy it,
but if I don't, I'll pass on it. So there's
no guarantees here, so they might make nothing. So people
are like Rob how much is this deal worth? And

(03:27):
the truth is, we can't say because it's not that deal.
There is not a guaranteed minimum. There is not a
guaranteed number. They've been told do as many shows as
you want, produce as much as you want, bring them
to us, and will pick the ones we want. We don't,
we won't take, but we're going to pay for the

(03:47):
wee take them we want. So the strategy is very,
very different. Insiders are saying they really are excited about
this deal. Really to say face that this was a
bad look. If they completely lost their Netflix deal, everybody
would be like, oh goodness, Yeah, they have really lost
the deal, but not the relationships Netflix and no fools, no, no,

(04:07):
they are still Harry and Meghan. They're still very powerful people.
They are still ambassadors. They can do lunches with advertisers. Yeah,
you want to get attention. You've certainly got Harry and
Meghan in your wheelhouse. You don't want to lose that.
But the projects they have been producing just haven't been
getting viewers. However, if Harry decided to sit down and
do a tell all about his family, that would work. Yeah,

(04:31):
they don't want to push him out completely. Because he
does have stories. She has stories. They do have what
we want, they just won't give it us. They won't
give us what we want to. Yeah, and so they're
happy to have this sort of loose, flexible first look deal.
But it's not quite the deal that they had. In fact,
it's nothing like the amazing deal they first had.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
Yeah, you know. Unfortunately, though, I think there's so much
of this damage that's been done to their brand. I
think it's self inflicted in some cases. You know, the
whole thing with Megan positioning herself as his lifestyle guru
like Martha Stewart, but then she seemed to make so
many missteps over and over from the you know, the
bad product launches and the strange naming of the company.
We can always get into that. There's so much there,

(05:15):
And then there was there were complaints that she wasn't
really doing the work, like you know, pop up at
local markets, Megan with your jam, show up in like Wichita, Kansas,
and you would really make headlines if you're popped up
in like Rehobeth Beach where I am in a little
small farmer's market, Like that is what Martha Stewart used
to do, right, that's the difference. And I don't think
Meghan did that kind of work, and so the brand

(05:37):
has suffered to do a.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
Great lesson in life. Years before I was on the
Today Show, Good Morning America, I was doing New York
one local shows. Yeah right right, my pr days. I
worked for Ashley Simpson. Her first ever live performance was
Saturday Night Life. It was too much. She should have
started on local TV. She should have started on small places,

(06:00):
should have started tabaret clubs and learned her craft. When
people ask me, I laugh all the time. One of
my friends and Lie Rob, get me on the Today Show,
and I'm like, I'll do you a favor. I won't.
If I do get you on, you will be terrible
because you've never done start small. This podcast now is
pretty big, thank you naughties, But we started really small.

(06:21):
We started really little. We were a little bit under
the radar. And a year before I did this podcast,
I got a job at Dereka Remains radio station to
learn my craft. Nobody starts as the lead violinist for
the New York film Starting Your Local Orchestra normally at school,
Alicia Keys did not start playing Madison Square guard. I

(06:45):
can tell you she started in little, teeny tiny clubs
on the Lower east Side. Lady Gaga, your craft. There's
nothing embarrassing about starting at the beginning. In fact, that's
a very good place to start. As Julie Andrews lyrics,
everybody don't don't run walk once that Meghan came out

(07:11):
at the end. She came out because of her fame.
I get it. It's difficult. She probably couldn't start at
the beginning with her. Everybody was sure, but like it
was something it was. It was right. She was taking
on the big dogs. She was taken on that the
biggest names in the industry, and that that got Gwenneth
started goops small. Goop now is a billion dollar business.

(07:34):
It started with a candle, just one problem. Like you've
got to Kate Spade started with one bag. You've got
to rest in peace. You've got to start small. So
it brings us to our pole question of the day,
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's much hyped Netflix renewal is
more of a pr move than a payday? Have you?
This is about you today, not then? Have you ever

(07:56):
hyped something to save face? Have you ever? That's what
they did here? They're hyping something that doesn't all yeah,
quite sod so good. But have you ever hype something
I know just the same face? Hey, go votes on
our Twitter page? I do. It was a nice wrong

(08:16):
Facebook pages gossip michure to check back on Monday to
hear your results, say, Corey, what are you working on?

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Yes, but there's a little bit of a birthday bash, uh,
sort of a backlash.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Story, if you will.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
So Chris Ainsworth Hymsworth, you know, he had his forty
second birthday bash and it bes it was packed with
stars like Rita Aurra and of course Liam Hemsworth and
Matt Damon was there, of course, but there was no
Ben Affleck. Now that was a little peculiar because those
two are always so inseparable at big soirees and Hollywood
events and things of that nature. So sources tell hashtag

(08:50):
shooter Scoop that it wasn't an oversight. You know, Ben
is apparently very needy and difficult, claims one insider. He's
better on the like the one on one situations than
he is in groups. They say he drains the energy
whenever he's in groups. Now, you know, Damon and a Flag,
of course, are most Hollywood's most famous Broman's couple.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Some source of say the.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Vibe changes though when other big names are around. Now,
Matt thrives in situations where everyone's laughing and having a
good time, but Ben not so much. Ben is a
much more like sort of he sort of well the
term based they uses, like sucks the air out of
the room in a way because he's you know, so, yeah,
so he's so. But but the crew hit cassajon Dal
before heading now on yachts for champagne and dancing all

(09:34):
good vibes, says one another insider has told us. But
you know, probably that's exactly why Ben wasn't there, because
he does not thrive well in those situations. Now, some
people say that it was a snub that has stung Ben,
and if it were reversed, Ben would have definitely invited.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Matt to join him.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
But Rob, you know, I have one thing that seems
like it's a like a big glaring note here about this,
Like it wasn't Matt Damon's birthday. I mean, I'm like, so,
you know, Matt doesn't the guest list, right.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I think it's about trying to make your friends friends
with your other friends. I have this hamby. I like
all my all my people to get along. I like
that sort of yeah. Yeah, some people would say cult,
like right, I've done this. And sometimes friends just don't
fit in. I have a friend that I've been with.
I have a friend that I've known for a really
long time, but she doesn't always fit in. She's better

(10:26):
one on one, she gets a little overwhelmed in these
in these big, big groups. I think you should know yourself,
like who are you? Do you like one on ones?
Do you like big groups? I like about three or
four of us. That's what I like. I don't another
table of two, but I'd love my ideal it's three
or four. Once it gets to six or eight, I'm like, oh,
it's a little much for me. Know yourself. And so

(10:47):
not only if this was a snub here, although Ben,
let's say he's not easy. Let's just leave it, like yeah,
moving along, the SNL cast is really angry if Pete
Davidson and they say he's more famous for dating than comedies.
This is Pete's problem here. Peter has done a new
interview and now the people at Essenel are giving him
a little bit of a side eye and sources tell

(11:08):
me that many castmates were over him long before this interview.
They said, he's moody, he's unpredictable, and he's never as
prepared as the rest. That's interesting. It doesn't do the
work famous for dating Ariana and Kim Kardashian than anything
he ever brought to the show. Now, once again, all
of this is bubbling up because Pete did an interview

(11:29):
and he said that, you know, we didn't dislike each other,
but it's a very competitive place and they aren't really
friends like I think you think of that cast as
one big, happy group. They're not. They're pitted against each other.
They have to pitch their own ideas. So every Monday,
when they start rehearsals for the next show, start preparing
for the next show, they start with picturing ideas. So

(11:52):
you do a show on Saturday, you probably get to
day after party, you sleep all day Sunday, and then
on Monday you start again, and you've got to walk
into that picture five or six ideas. And remember there's
only a certain amount of time. We all can't win here.
This is not one of those instants where everybody's idea
gets on the show. If I have ten great ideas.

(12:12):
That show is going to be the Rob Shooter show.
If you have one good idea, you ain't gonna barely
be on the show, right, they said, just didn't quite
figure all this out. I think he wanted it to
be one more like one big harmonious group, and it
wasn't that the more time you get, the less time
I get. We disagree with that. We normally say in life.

(12:33):
It's particularly on this show. We can succeed. You can't
in an hour. It's only an hour, and it's very competitive.
So Pete sort of explained that, I don't think in
a harsh way, but the cast is like mm hmmm.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Well, I think for us though, the viewers who are
watching SNL and who have watched it for a decade,
it looks as if it's a nice, wonderful family. So
I think the perception that maybe even Pete had before
he became famous and had the opportunity was oh wow,
Gilda Radner was with Jane Curtin, and you know, Bill
Murray was friends with Eddie Murphy and like that. But
that was not what was going on. I will say,

(13:06):
I think this is the interview that we're talking about,
where he was on the Breakfast Club with Charlotte Nagott
and I did see some of the I did watch
some of that interview, and quite honestly, Pete talks about
the damage done to his reputation because of all the
gossip about who he was dating. He did not welcome that.
He did not welcome conversations about his penis size, which

(13:26):
is what took like center stage. He was very embarrassed.
He empathized with women who are reduced to just their body.
It's a really interesting interview. I don't know if the
SNL team is being fair here. He was very empathetic,
I thought, and what I saw, I thought it.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Was a great interview. But I spoke to some Pete
friends where they called me pretty much after the interview
and they were like, he loves talking about his pets.
He dated Ariana Graddy. This is not a shy person. Like,
if you don't want people to talk about your personal life,
you probably wouldn't date to Kardashia.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Well, we don't think they're going to tell you. You
don't think they're going to talk about that part though, specific.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
I think this is a we've seen him and he's
Underwa's shy, I need pictures. It feels like you want
it both ways. Okay, quickly before we go to break
Corey Blake Lively snubbed from Taylor Swift celebration.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
Yes, yeah, so she was snubbed from the Showgirl celebration,
which is like the new album that Taylor announced. So
she was at Casa Cipriani. The party full of a listers,
but there was one absence, which was Blake Lively. Now,
of course, sources tell hashtag Shooter Scoop that it was
not an oversight, much like the birthday party for the
Hainsworth brothers. But you know, it was a curated list,

(14:37):
says one insider. Now, Blake just did not make the cut.
Apparently they were once inseparable everyone knows, but reportedly now
that has cooled down after that whole big you know,
the lawsuit going on with Justin Bani and so it's
just really not the way it used to be with
that friendship. So the show Girl is her new album.
Apparently the accidental guest list is something that Taylor Swift

(14:59):
does not do. Either you're invited or this is very intentional.

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Yeah, she was. She was at Cassie Cipriana's, which is
this private club downtown in New York. I've been there.
It's really really beautiful. Yeah, yeah, seeing there the night
she was there. The Mayor of New York Woods was
there too, Eric Adams was She doesn't. She has her
own little group and Blake, Blake not part of this
group if you think about it, though, this was a
celebration about how well the launch, the announcement of the

(15:26):
album had gone, and it's going to be a huge album.
If Blake had turned up, then we wouldn't it would
have turned talking about Blake, So I understand this. It's messy.
I hate when friends fall out. Okay, we're going to
take a quick break. We're never going to fall out,
and we will be all right back. Welcome back to
the Naughty but Nice Show. Thank you for sticking with

(15:46):
you today. I've had a sore throat all day, my friends.
If I sound a little bit crackly on the show,
now I feel fine. I've just got a bit of
an allergies, like like a little bit of alergies going
on today. Once my pseudo fed kicks eye will be great.
Let's get to the polls Kelly Clarkson's meltdown was triggered
by her ex's relationship with her former assistant. Wow, so

(16:09):
we knew something was really going on here. Obviously, the
death of your ex husband is very traumatic. The guy
you share two kids with very traumatic. But that wasn't
the end of the story. There's part of this story
that is now coming out, which is he was in
a relationship when he passed with her former assistant. Now

(16:31):
remember this assistant worked for Kelly when she was still married,
so the timeline here is very, very fuzzy. Are you
shocked by the latest twists? That was our question. Seventy
eight percent said yes, it was shocked by this. It's amazing.
How when you pull a string to us? Oh yeah,
you never unravel? Fine, do you never know? Hey, don't

(16:56):
forget to vote on today's poll. Go to our I
had Naughty Nice rob our facebook pages Naughty Gossip, and
be sure to check back on Monday to hear your results.
And now it's time for our nice sist of the day. Yes.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Well, speaking of Taylor Swift again, she has shattered new
heights with her ten million views and sixteen hours of
the podcast debut that's going on now So the cruel
Summer Singer's New Heights podcast debuted with over ten million
views in just sixteen hours, and it de throned the
previous top episode held by Jason's wife, Kylie Kelsey. Now,

(17:36):
so Kylie's yeah, it's amazing, right, So Kylie's twenty twenty
four appearance raked up eight point six million views, now
trailing Swift by one point four million. My guy, I'd
be happy with like one hundred thousand. Can he just
give me like ten thousand of those views? I would
be so happy. But Jason thirty seven predicted the shake
up mid show, joking, I think Kylie enjoyed being number
one while she had it, and Swift, you know, she

(17:59):
quickly and Kylie Lavin don't do that to Kylie. So yeah,
it's really fun though for them to have that. But
you know, they are today's it girls. They are today's
They're it, they are it red. You love them, hate them?
They are it?

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Yeah, this is it. Honestly, it's sort of lovely to watch.
It reminds me I've had era in music I never
thought we'd see again. It feels like Michael Jackson in
the eighties and Madonna in the nineties, like this feels
that big. Yeah, for a long time we've had pop stars,
but the whole world hasn't been sort of watching the
same person with such a diversified world. Now we have

(18:32):
our own different tastes. But these numbers, it's just it's
just just staggering our nicest of the day. And now
I noticed the day MSNBC's live event is not selling
very well, including Rachel Meadow. So the event is October
eleventh here in New York City. There are tickets available,
lots of tickets available, including vipas for everybody. I think

(18:56):
this here is we're just all sick of politics. I
think it's just so toxic. And yeah, on the weekend,
I want to go and see Mom and Mia. Yeah yeah,
I just need a weekend to ask you can support
your causes, and you should, and you should fight for
what you believe in. These live events, though, they're tricky,
unless you're Diana Ross and you've got an act, or

(19:16):
unless you're Madonna and you've got an act. Putting somebody
on stage who's doing a TV show, it's a very
different skill. Bravo has done this with their Housewives, and
I went to one of them, and I know they
were very popular. It was a waste of money. Just
watch the TV shows. Yeah, yeah, I'd met Kim Kardashian,
who I really like many many times. She's more fun

(19:37):
on TV. Why I didn't pay money to be But
I just like, I don't know, Corey, forget your politics,
whether you are left or right or in the middle here,
I don't know if I would pay to see this.
What about you?

Speaker 1 (19:50):
No? I think I think they did the one a
year ago or so, and they did well. I think
there a lot of it did really well. I think
there's some backlash though this year because MSNBC has been
scrutinized for getting rid of a lot of people who
in controversial moves. Yeah, like you know, And it was
also some backlash because of the accusations of why they

(20:10):
remove these people. Most of them were women, and they
were of color, and it was just it was messy. So,
you know, INSNBC, you have to maybe take a mirror
and look at themselves. If this event is not selling,
what role did they play in the public's perceptions?

Speaker 2 (20:24):
Very interesting, very interesting. Okay, listen with her moment of
Ronge being ready is a myth If you wait until
you are fully prepared, you will be waiting forever. The
truth is, you start where you are, even if you
were unsure at first. You stumble, you get things wrong,
you feel awkward, but through action you learn. Each mistake

(20:50):
teaches you something new. Every attempt makes you stronger, and
slowly your skills and your confidence will grow. Remember, nobody
is great when they first start, So stop waiting for
the perfect moment that does not exist, and begin now,
right now. Progress only comes from doing. Hey, that is

(21:12):
it for this week. Thank you so much for listening
