Speaker 1 (00:09):
Vice. Sure, it's hell lo lo loa loa low. Hello,
Welcome to the Naughty but Nic Sham, your honest Rob Shooter,
and it is Wednesday morning.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Hello.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Hello. Normally every Wednesday, our dear friend Donnie Meacham joins us.
Donnie's not going to be able to join us the day,
but don't worry, because we've got a very very special guest,
a dear friend of mine. In fact, if you've been
following my career since the remain days that Derek can
remain days, you will recognize this voice. It's a blast
from the radio past, but not from the past in

(00:42):
my life. I see her every week, my dear friend
Valerie Greenberg. Value there.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
This is such a joy to join you right now
because it's true we're friends, we're family, and the fact
that we're back together right now on your show, it's
just everything is full circle.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
We have a very special reason that val is on
the show today, which we will get a little later
in the show. It's going to be a nicest of
the day list. Jump in. What time is it? My friends?
And is let me hear you're singing along? It is
tee time? Okay. Big story at the top of the show.
Listen to this foul. So Taylor Swift is been accused
of cheating to break sale records. So Taylor Swift, she's

(01:17):
got a new CD out. It is selling really, really well.
But do you know who sold the most albums in
one week? Who is the pop artist in history that
has sold the most albums in their debut week. Everyone
thinks it's Michael Jackson, or maybe it's Madonna or Metallica,
Rolling Stones. No, it's Adele. Adele sold over three million

(01:40):
copies back in twenty fifteen, and now Taylor looks like
she's gonna sell about two point seven. So to push
her to the head of the pack, to push her
to number one, what has she done? She's reduced the price.
The Life of a show Girl is now four ninety
nine on iTunes, so she's made a ton of money.
It's already sold two two and a half million copies.

(02:01):
But to get that extra half a million copies, to
squeeze it out of us all she's reduced the price.
There's some people are saying that's not right, that is cheating.
I think all fair. It's not breaking the rules. This
is going to count. You can put your album or
whatever price you want. It's not set in stone. Congress
doesn't fix the price for albums now. And so what

(02:22):
do you think about this? It's a little sneaky, I
give her that, but I sort of admire her. What
do you think?

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Say?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
But I think it's quite clever. And listen, she is
a businesswoman at heart, Like she likes to have fun
with us, and she knows exactly what she's doing. And
guess what, like she doesn't need the extra money, so
she can do whatever she wants to break those sales
and attain those records. I mean, do I think Adele
and competing artists might be a little upset about this?

Speaker 3 (02:50):
At the end of the day, we all have a
little bit of ego, so it probably is irking them.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
And I mean, I don't want Swifties to come out,
Swifties to come after me. But I'm up sessed with Adele.
I've seen her live multiple times. Her personality is incredible,
her voice is unmatched, and well we're all so excited
for Taylor and how she's just released this new album.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
I mean, this is like really really genius.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
It's really smart, it really easy.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
What if I said, Okay, well, I'm going to do
whatever Rob. I'm trying to emulate what Rob's doing, but
at a lower price.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Come on, I pay more for what you're doing, Valorie,
much more than what I get in paid for this.
But I do think you're right here, and it's really
rich people problems like Adele's fine, everybody, don't worry. Adela's solved.
Three million copies of records?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Are there anything else?

Speaker 1 (03:39):
Absolutely, records are there to be broken. And so this
pushes her over the edge of a little bit. Then
that's fine too. It's like movies.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
We pay more to this halfway Rob, we knew that. No,
she seemed to win it, and anticipation right to win it.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
Yeah, and she wants to be able to say that
she has sold the most records in the debut week
of that album. She's really really close. This might push
her over the edge either way. Here they are both
such big winners. I think this is sort of like
a storm in a tea cup. Is that what it's called?
That expression? I think that's what it is interesting too.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Expression you say is right.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Thank you Hi. I don't think that's totally true, but
I will go with it. And also to be spotted
her last night on TV. On Monday night, she was
on Jimmy Fallon. It was fascinating because she literally took
all sorts of questions. I love this game where you
ask a celebrity about a rumor because it allows you
to bring up a crazy story. So she was happy
to talk about rumors. She said yes to some, no
to others. However, there was one rumor, the biggest rumor

(04:37):
about Taylor Swift that wasn't mentioned. I'm told that it
was not allowed to be mentioned, Blake Lively. No mention
of the friendship or the lack of the friendship with
Blake Lively. I think this is a smart thing. She's
on TV selling her album. She's funny and charming. The
last thing she wants to do is get involved in
this Blake Lively really ugly legal?

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Do you remove from it?

Speaker 2 (04:57):
And if anyone was going to have the ability to
bring it up, it would have been Jimmy Fallon. I mean,
he said that he's been friends with her family, her
mom for so long, which is obviously why he landed
the interview. And you know as well as I do,
especially because you know you have that celebrity pr background,
as do I that publicists are literally going to say

(05:17):
what you can't say prior to even if you're an
a list like Jimmy.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
A friend of yours, sent me a text this morning,
Jill Fritzo, a publicist friend, I wrote a nice story.
I know, I just I didn't even remember writing it.
But I wrote this nice story about one of her clients.
And she texted me this morning saying thank you. So listen, everybody,
those publicists are watching. Don't you be upsetting Taylor Swift,
which brings us to our whole question of the day.

(05:43):
Taylor Swift is being accused of cheating to break sale records.
She doesn't need to cheat. However, she is discounting her
CD on iTunes. It's now just four ninety nine. Is
this cheating? My goodness? Yes? Or no? Is it? Mackadine me?
She could be small. Some people might say cheeting. I
can't wait to find out. Hey, go vote naughty's on

(06:04):
our Twitter page at Naughty but Nice Rob. I forgot
the rod part. Naughty but Nice Rob or a Facebook
page which is Naughty Gossip and be sure to check
that tomorrow to hear your results. Okay, moving a long,
Value've done a million red carpets, both as a reporter
and walking with celebrities and walking them yourself too. Jalo
and Ben had a spontaneous quote reunion on the Red

(06:25):
carpet last night. Insiders there telling me it was all stage.
So they're both at the Kiss of the Spider Woman
movie premiere. This movie is meant to be fantastic. Jennifer's
the star, but guess who's the producer, Oh, Ben Affleck.
So that's a little bit unfortunate. So Ben's production company
is behind this movie. In fact, Jennifer said, if it
wasn't for Ben, this movie would never have been made.

(06:46):
She's a huge star, but even Jlo has trouble raising
money for particularly these musicals which don't do so well.
And so it's a very complicated story. It's a very
dark movie. It is absolutely beautiful, but it's gonna be
a hard movie to sell. And so she said, if
it wasn't for Ben, it wouldn't have been made. Well,
guess what they were both on the red carpet last
night and they had a little chat and that the

(07:08):
press are going mad saying it was awkward. My sources
are telling me it was all planned. They knew exactly
the time he was arriving, and they knew exactly the
time she was arriving, and they wanted this classy civil
moment between the two of them. And let's be honest,
it's getting a ton of a press today for the movie.
So it really worked. We're talking about this movie that

(07:28):
we might not be talking about otherwise. We've done these carpets.
Now you know that when the celebrity arrived, it's not
an accident.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
It's all planssed, It's all planned perfectly to a tea
And it was so interesting Rob because I pretty much knew,
like I would say, ninety percent of the people covering
the premiere last night, and I watched Ben's reaction as
like our friends in media were interviewing Tulo, and he almost.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Looked a little like stressed or frustrated.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
He was like he was being interviewed by Access Hollywood,
and I saw he was like, are you gonna come
over now and take.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
The picture with us?

Speaker 2 (08:00):
It was like, then she's in the middle of an
interview and she's, you know, so wonderful and lovely to
the interviewee because she's poised this is her big moment.
It was interesting to weigh the way that he wanted her,
like right in that photo at that he.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Was needy, he felt she felt.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Really, I will say you played an instrumental part in
her come up without a doubt. We all know this
from your book, Jennifer Lopez, because you represented her. And
I just think that the way that she was so
even keeled, how she handled herself, quite the fact that
you know this was her personal life coming, you know,

(08:36):
recircling out even though she's trying to promote this film
because we all know what, maybe he doesn't get done
in days.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Yeah what What What this tells me too, is that
the relationships in an okay place. If it was in
a really bad place, they just wouldn't have done that
carpet together. He didn't really need to be there. She
wanted his star power. Although let's be honest, Jennifer's got
enough herself.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
But I think this is going to help push this.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
It makes it more exciting. We're talking yet we're talking
about movie star yea of the movie.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
You're right, she really like she's all over the place,
she does everything with but he is like associated movie star.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
That's like a subliminal message to us. Like I think
you're right. This is going to be great, because.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
I think you're right. If Ben indorses it, it's going
to be great. You're right. If it's Jennifer, some people
can dismiss her as cheesy or silly or just.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Do anything shallow.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
If you pay her, she'll turn up. But no, you
have been there for him to make this movie. He
is the producer. I hear, I hear. She could get
right now on the carpet. Absolutely, an Oscar nomination is
coming for jenn Okay. Moving along, the Royals are really
upset because a secret tunnel has been exposed. So I
actually think I knew about this, but I've never mentioned it.
There's a secret tunnel between between Saint James's Palace and

(09:47):
the five star Stamford Hotel in London. So it's over
one hundred years old. And this tunnel has been used
by everybody, including Queen Elizabeth the Second, her Mommy, lots
of celebrities, so you can get in and out of
the palace with that anybody finding hi. Princess Diana has
used it. Now the tunnel is sealed off and so
that's why they're talking about it now. It's a wine cellar,
but see the people in the Royal family are telling

(10:09):
me that they would have rather this stage classified. This
was a big secret in London, these underground tunnels and
how people can get in and out. I know here
in New York lots of celebrities like to stay at
the wallter Astoria because they have an underground car park,
and so if you don't want to be photographed walking
in and out of a hotel, you can go underground
also too. I think the Carlyle Hotel where Tom Cruise

(10:32):
stays and Harry and Meghan you are.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
You and I go sometimes for something.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
I love it. I think, I think all these secrets
val and we want to tell them because it's so
much fun to gossip about this stuff. I'm quite good
at keeping these type of secrets. Though. If you had
known about this tunnel, vow, would you have mentioned it
or would he be a secret for me?

Speaker 2 (10:52):
I would have kept my mouth shut. I mean I
can keep a really like bring secret. I will say
I have a lot of things that I've kept close
to the vest over years. Even in my new book,
I don't reveal all of the secrets that I touch
on things. But you're a little naughtier than me.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
So what about you? You know the dirty secret on me?
I can really keep a secret for somebody who makes
a living ad a gossipin and telling people's stories. I'm
really really good. If you look me in the eye
and say don't tell anybody, I won't until the moment's right,
and I'll ask you every day. Can I tell that secret?
Then I will bother you. But I wouldn't do it
unless you said yes. So with friends not celebrities. Don't

(11:31):
get me wrong, for I found had a big secret
on the Donna. I'm telling everybody. I mean, I'm not
my friend. But if a fan had a secret about
a friend, and I have got a few friends who
are a little bit famous, I can keep a secret. Okay,
moving along. Dwyane the Rock Johnson's really upset after this
movie flopped. So Dwayne the Rock has poured everything into
this project called The Smashing Machine. It's about an m

(11:54):
M A fighter. I'm not even sure what that mapters, right?
You got that in a cage a cage. Mark is
his real name, and so the Rock went through a
transformation to do this. He's often dismissed in Hollywood as
a silly sort of action star. He makes a lot
of money from movies. His movies making a lot of money,
but he wants to be taken seriously. He wants awards.

(12:15):
He did this amazing movie. I'm told it's fantastic. It
bombed at the box office. He's devastated about that. I
have friends that this has happened to as well. You
don't have to be in show business. But once you're
put into a box, once you're the happy friend, then
you're allowed to be sad. Once you're the sad friend,
then you're allowed to be happy. If you're the action star,
then you can't make an Oscar nominative movie. I would

(12:38):
love for us all to throw these boxes at but
I understand that probably ain't gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Yeah, that stigma, that association, it's hard to get rid of,
you know, the character you've played when that's what people
know you for. But like, he should not be crying
because he, like is one of the highest paid actors.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
But I get it.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
It's like, once you get to a point, it's like
where do you go from here? So that is a
disappointment because he probably did put us all into it.
He's a very couple guy. But an MMA fighting rob
like take it from the street girl that loves hot
hot men like you know with their shirts off. I
will say, like MMA fighting a snow joke. It is
far different from wrestling.

Speaker 3 (13:13):
It is intense. You're not wearing like any like protection
over your head.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
It gets it's raw, and even with all of his
star power, this is like a little disappointing.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
It is a bit disappointing. But you know what, let's
not worry about him. As val said, he's got hundreds
of millions of dollars on the highest paid stars in
the world. And even though it didn't do well at
the box office, I think it did well enough for
a small movie. It's not Jurassic Park six million.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
And a lot of successful films like look at what
happened with Anural last year, smooth, they won all They
start small and then they want all of the awards.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
What's gonna happen here? And he's got the critics. The
critics loved it. It's like it's of the Spider Woman.
You can't compare that to a blockbuster. It's not mission impossible.
If it makes ten million dollars in the first week,
that'll be happy because it only cost thirteen million, and
so I when people are saying it tanked, it didn't
do the numbers that his normal movies do, but this
is not one of his normal movies. It's not Bang

(14:10):
Wallops smashed them up. It's really smart, it's really small.
So let's not count him out yet. And the critical
response has been fabulous. Okay, quickly, before we go to break.
Nicole Kidman showed up at the Chanelle's show because she
wanted to.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
So.

Speaker 1 (14:25):
Nicole is a spokesperson for Chanell. She's paid millions of
dollars after the scandal broke. After her divorce broke, Chanelle
told her she didn't have to come, so they pay
her bills. And part of her contract is to sit
for a fashion week in Paris. They want celebrities there,
they want movie stars there. They pay her tens of
millions of dollars to promote Chanelle. She had to be there,

(14:47):
but they said, and this is kind of sweet. I
like this. There's a lot going on in your private life.
If you don't want to come this week, this just
goes to show you her work commitment. She said, I'm coming.

Speaker 2 (14:57):
She turned up, but also she brought her which I
thought they probably wanted to go. I mean, it's not
the toughest gig in the world to get out of
bed for to get paid.

Speaker 3 (15:08):
To go sit at Chanel. So like pooh pooh, I'm
sad for you. But I mean it was.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Like a fun girls say out with your daughter.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Me and my mom.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
We go to TJ Max, they go to Chanel. It
all works, you know.

Speaker 1 (15:19):
It all works. And we're gonna take a quick break
and we shall be right back. Welcome back to the
Naughty but Night Show. I'm your host, Rom Shooter's idea friend,
Valerie Greenbook. Hey, val, let's get to the polls that
dad are. Last show we talked about Prince William has
exploded over Megan Markle's insensitive Paris video. Let's just call
it that. She's in Paris by the tunnel where Diana died,

(15:43):
and she posts a video in the back of a car.
She's in a limo with her feet stretched out. It's
not the best look. In fact, it's a very bad look.
Should she apologize? Let's have a look? Seventy percent said yes.
I actually think if she said I was thoughtless. This
was really insensitive and I really regretted I think that
would be the best way to go so far silence.
But I agree with you Naughtie's I think an apology

(16:04):
would actually help her here.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
What do you think, val I think an apology would
be awesome, But I don't think she's gonna own it.
I think she's just gonna stay up as far from
it as possible. And you know, a lot of the
things she does is kind of like that, with trying
to create all these programs and stuff and the Netflix show.
She's just very much in her own head. And like,
I think that Diana should be honored and she should
make an apology.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
No, I would make an apology if you're listening. If
you're listening, al Megan, we've spoken, you know what we
think you should do. Hey, don't forget to vote on
today's poul Go to our Twitter page at Naughty Nice Rob.
Her facebook page is Naughty Gossip and be sure to
check going tomorrow and to hear your results. And now,
oh it's time for and nicest of the day. Let

(16:44):
me tell you and nicest of the day is my
friend Valerie Greenberg, who has just published her first amazing
self help book. Congratulations, Well, tell us what this book.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
Is about rob How kind are you so? My new book,
You've Been Valid, a playbook for confidence and connection, is
all about honing in on your superpowers, really figuring out
by sharing strategies, how you can connect with people. Even
if you're an introvert or an ambrovert, you know somebody
who's like on the cusp. It is all about being
your own best friend. And as a natural born cheerleader

(17:19):
for others, I'm leaning into my superpower to help others.
Really own a room and seeing who's around you, you
can create all these meaningful connections. Yeah, you, sir, are
in the book as one of my contributors that I
can refer to as my confidence community.

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Oh I like that. Thank you. I am thrilled to
be in the book. Thank you for asking me. But
You've got some wonderful people in the book, Me and
Bevy Smith, lots of others of your friends. What's the
takeaway from this book? Val? It's an easy book to read.
I read it over the weekend, a couple of hours
on the carriage. It's a fun, easy, breezy read and
you come away thinking so much. It really charges up

(17:55):
your brain. What do you want the takeaway?

Speaker 2 (17:57):
To be val Grit, tenacity, and hustle is so respected.
I didn't come from any connections, and this is a
little bit about my personal story, but more so it's
about getting out of your own way, recognizing that you
can turn a no to a nod that's right, a
horizontal headshake to a vertical one meaning you can get
that yes, meaning that no one can get in your

(18:19):
way if you take out the equation that things are
personal and just go for it, because no one can
stop you from achieving your dreams but yourself. And if
you assemble a confidence community who I refer to as
my contributors. This is anybody in your inner circle that
inspires you, that keeps it real like you do with me, Rob,
and that allows you to be your best self. That

(18:43):
is what it's all about. You've been validated because the
only stamp of approval you need is your own, no
outside validation necessary.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
That's so interesting. The title You've been Validated the book
is called you had Been Validated. It's not about vow
validating you all, Rob Shooter. It's about you validating you.
And if you read this book, Val will teach you
how get the book. We're not going to do a
Naughtyus today. We're going to end with a moment of Rob.
You're gonna Rob, You get Rob, You got Rob. Adult

(19:11):
friendships need grace. People are busy and life gets loud,
and everyone's juggling work and family and all this chaos
in their lives. So less communication doesn't mean less love.
It just means that life is happening. Stop keeping score.
Stop assuming silence means distance. It doesn't. The real test

(19:32):
of a friendship isn't constant contact, it's consistent care. The
people who matter are the ones who show up when
it counts, not the ones that text every single day. Hey,
that is it for today. Thank you so much for
