Speaker 1 (00:08):
Advice shooters. It's time hell level, hellolloallole, and hello, welcome
to the not even nice sham your house, rub Shooter.
And it is Thursday, which means our dear friend Mark
Lupo joins us, Hey, Lupi, are you there?
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Lupi?
Speaker 1 (00:24):
Lewis here?
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Hebra.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
It's become a thing. So we started Hey Lupy, Hey Delaida,
are you there when we did the show during the pandemic,
and we did it on zoom, and so now even
when we're in person, we say are you there, even
though I'm looking at you. But it's become such a
thing as having drinks last night and I heard from
behind me, hellollolo, lollo, rub shooter, are you there? And
(00:49):
I turned around. I didn't know the person, but now
I do. Thank you for coming over and saying hello
to me. James, it's lovely to meet you. You're very
cute and very sweet, and you have excellent taste. In
so I do love it if you see Mark out
on the come over and say a lower lower low
are you Yes, we are, Okay, let's jump into the show.
But Tim is it? My friends? It is tea time,
(01:12):
big story. Mark at the top of the show. So
Victoria Beckham is struggling to talk about David Beckham's affair,
and so that makes a lot of sense to me. However,
she's doing a ton of pressures out there for this
new documentary about her life, which insiders tell me Mark
was meant to be about the Spies Girls, and then
they realized Victoria is more interested than the group, and
(01:34):
so it's sort of. The Spies girls are definitely in
the documentary, but it's not a five part documentary, which
is what I think the girls thought it was. It's
amazing you've worked in TV a really long time. Mark.
You start these projects and as you start going through it,
as you start taping, as you start recording, it changes.
The story changes because this becomes more interesting and that
(01:57):
becomes less interesting. So this started out as a spicy
that's Victoria documentary, but now it's out, she's got to
promote it. So, of all places, she went on Call
Her Daddy, which is the new thing to do now.
I'm so glad we're in the podcast business, Mark, Podcasts
are the future now. Actually that's not true, they're the now.
This is what people are doing. They're going on podcasts.
(02:18):
So she went on the podcast and she addressed Rebecca
Lose remember her, that's the person that claims she had
an affair with David Beckham. So she was asked about
this and she had, I think a prepared answer. If
it wasn't prepared, then then Victoria, you have got this down.
Because she looked a little flustered, but she said, we
have so much thrown at us quote and by the
(02:40):
way people said it wouldn't work, twenty six years, we
have ridden the storm. I think this is the perfect response.
You don't want to get into the details. You don't
want to confirm the affair, but you want to point out,
you know what, we've had a lot thrown at us,
and twenty six years later, we're still together. It's a
really impressive thing. Do I think he had an affair, Yes,
(03:04):
I think he probably did, and so at the time
he has denied it. But I think this is sort
of a good way to handle it. I also think
too Victoria had the power to say, no questions about
the affair. I'll talk about Belima, I'll talk about my
eating disorder. We've had this happen Mark. We've worked on
shows where celebrities will only come on if you don't
(03:24):
talk about certain things and some things you're like, then
we shouldn't book you, Like, the only reason you're on
the show is to talk about that. But if you
don't want to talk about it, maybe maybe not. But
I was told her, Victoria was like, sure, there's nothing
off limits, and she turned up prepared, And I think
this is a great PR team. This is a great
way to handle this. Victoria was really smart about it.
(03:46):
It made me like her more, which is really why
you do an interview. What do you think? All right?
Speaker 2 (03:51):
I agree Rob that this was definitely a coordited effort
on her PR team to make sure they managed how
they were going to respond to this. And I think
to your point too, that interviewer could have asked follow
up questions and she didn't, and she'd and Victoria went
right on to her eating disorder and other things and
conveniently just ignored the topic for the rest of the interview.
So yes, she handled in a great way for herself.
(04:14):
But if I were interviewing her, I would have other
things to ask her.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
But you're a real reporter. That's the difference you But
you were a real real reporter. I'm not dissing the
podcast here, it's a great podcast. Call me a daddy.
It's a really, really good show. And millions of people
call her daddy. Sorry, not call me daddy. Oh that
sounds like something else. Call her and daddy, what have
I revealed? And so call her daddy. It's a great podcast.
(04:39):
No follow up, it's interesting. That's always a sign listen
to this naughties. Recently, Kristin Chenowitz was on New York
on a local TV show, She's got a Broadway show opening,
and she was allowed, or at least she allowed the
reporter to ask her one question about her comments about
very controversial Charlie Kirk and so she clearly had a
prepared answer where she started to cry and she talked
(05:00):
about her love of the gay community. There was no
follow up. That tells me, and we've done this a
long time that this is all stage, not set up,
not fake, but you know it's coming. When I worked
with Jessica Simpson, we made it very clear you got
one Nick question, one Nickolay question, and that was it.
Jayla wouldn't even allow one Ben question. I worked with
(05:22):
Jennifer during her first breakup with Ben, and we literally
were like, you don't get j Loo if you talk
about Ben and a lot of outlets, some shocked Mark said, okay,
we'll take her and we won't talk about that. Then
when Andy Cohen in the middle of the Sex and
the City drama, in the middle of the kinkatrell Sarah
Jessica Parker explosion, we knew they didn't like each other,
but it exploded. Remember in the middle of that, Andy
(05:46):
Cohen had Sarah on Watch what Happens and he asked
her everything except the question about Kim. Well, she's his friends.
So I don't get it. But you notice when there's
not a follow up, then specious is going on here.
But I do think Victoria handled this one. And this
is a lesson in real life noughties. If somebody at
dinner brings up something you don't want to talk about,
(06:09):
you don't have to answer questions. You can give a
very generic response and then do shiny object, find something
more interesting to just drop as a bombshell. And so
Victoria didn't want to talk about what did she do?
She had a very generic answer and then she did
shiny object, which is, I've never spoken about this while
(06:29):
You've got my interest right away when you say that
I've never spoken about this, but my believia blah blah blah.
Oh clever, you are a pro. Julia Roberts is a
pro at this. Jennifer Anderston or she's like a politician.
She stays our message. You can't get her half message.
So I am impressed here, but it brings us to
our whole question of the day. Are you impressed? Victoria
(06:51):
Beckham struggled to talk about her her affair, David's affair
when I'm about I think it was like about twenty
years ago to be married for twenty six years. She
didn't really want to talk about it, but she did,
and she gave a really solid answer. Should have she be?
Last a follow up question, what do you think? Yes
(07:12):
or no? Go vote on a Twitter page at nice wrong.
Her Facebook page is Naughty Gossip and sure to check
back to morow to hear your results. Hey, Loopy lou,
what are you working on there?
Speaker 2 (07:26):
So Kristen Bell is terrified that one stupid comment could
end her career, and now she's hiding out after tone
deaf backlash has taken over her life. Now let me
tell you what's going on here. So Kristen Bell is
in panic mode after a joke that she'd told has
gone wrong and sparked a full pr nightmare for her.
(07:47):
The Frozen star had vanished from the Spotlight after facing
massive backlash over her anniversary tribute to her husband Dak
shephard a post that critics called tone deaf and disturbing.
H now the source of saying she's terrified once to
become it and destroy everything she's built, and that she's
always been America's sweetheart and this one has hit her hard.
(08:08):
Rob The controversy erupted when Bell shared a quote from
Shepherd which read, I would never kill you. A lot
of men have killed their wives at a certain point.
Even though I'm heavily incentivized to kill you, I would never.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Now.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
This unfortunate post was also shared during Domestic Violence Awareness Month,
and that social media has exploded. Sense what do you think?
Speaker 1 (08:31):
Oh, it's so dumb. It is such a dumb thing
to say. But she doesn't mean what it sounds like
she means. Here. She's not the enemy. We know Christen Bell.
She's a good person. She tries to be edgy, and
she is often funny. They mock each other. They're always
giggling about their relationship. It's part of their charms. This
one went too far, and I think she should apologize.
I wouldn't hide. She was meant to be on the
(08:51):
Today Show and she pulled out of that. Don't pull out.
Go on and have your PR team say to them,
this is how we want to address it. Ask us
a question about this. And I'll never get over the
fact that Ricky Martin sat down with Rolling Stone magazine
and wasn't prepared to be asked if he was gay.
Remember this twenty thirty years ago, and he got so
upset and he gave a really odd answer. If I
(09:13):
was Ricky's publicist, that's that you're gonna be asked. You're
going to bed. We have to have an answer for
this question, Kristin. If you do television, if you do radio,
whatever interviews you're going to do next, they're going to
ask about this silly, silly tweet. We know, we know
it was a bad joke. It wasn't even a really
funny joke. Domestic violence isn't funny. And you're not a comedian.
You're an actress, so you're not Joan Rivers. You don't
(09:35):
have to be out there doing Kathy Griffin's style jokes.
I think people we want everyone to love us, and
sometimes we're willing to be a clown and do dumb things.
I'm sure if she could take this back, she would.
Does she support domestic violence? Noah does, Dax Noah. They're
good people who made a stupid mistake. But the world
(09:56):
that we live in now, Mark, it's not that forgiving
it. It sometimes can really grab onto one thing and run
with it, and run with it and run with it.
So the best way, if you're listening, Christen Kristen, the
best way to get rid of this is to talk
about it. Put him I'm sorry, what a dumb thing
to say. Go and do some work for domestic violence victims.
(10:17):
Put your put your money where your mouth is. There
is a way around it. The mistake celebrities make, and
I think we make this in our own lives too.
We ignore it, We hope it goes away. It doesn't.
It ain't going away, and it ain't gonna get any worse,
and so deal with it. But it's tough love there.
What do you think I mean?
Speaker 2 (10:33):
I think celebrities need to be read their morander rids.
It's like anything you say, Ken and will be used
against you. And I think if Kristen's listening to this podcast,
perhaps she should go calmly Daddy podcast and she could
answer one question and then completely move answered something else
and let.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
It don't come on. Not even I should not on
a first nas Mark like a follow ups. I would
let you get a blame. But Mark's having none of that. Okay,
moving along. Clearly Kardashian, who's my favorite. Kardashian couldn't care
less about Savannah's comments. So Savannah did an interview and
she was asked her biggest regret on the Today Show.
And of all the things on the Today Show, and
(11:08):
let's be honest, there has been some controversies. The one
thing that keeps Savannah up at night is a question
that she asked in twenty twelve. She asked, Chloe Kardashian,
is O. J. Simpson your real father? While this has
made Savannah really really sad, I'm not sure why, but
it really has upset her, and she's disappointed in herself,
(11:30):
and she blames the producers for making her ask a question.
Try and get Savannah to ask a question she doesn't
want to ask, is what I'm saying now. But it's
very upseted. Well, well, Chloe's responded, saying, girl, I barely
remember it happens. It's fine. I love her, she's great.
What are you talking about. It's amazing stuff that we
hold on to her. Let's be kind here and take
(11:50):
Savannah at face valion. If this is her biggest regret
from the Today Show, wow, You've had an amazing, amazing career,
because I've got worse regrets from just this morning and
have only been two hours, and so this is somebody
that I think it's you know, it's probably an odd
question to ask what Chloe knew what she was doing.
You didn't ask Meryl Streep who her father was. This
(12:11):
is a reality stuff who had talked about her paternity
on her own reality show. They like this. This has
added to the car Dashian mistique. Let's remember Kim had
a sex tape. So we have definitely seen literally parts
of this family that you probably wouldn't do one other ones.
So Chloe, Chloe's fine with this, Savannah, move on. Don't
(12:33):
talk about regrets on a show that we that we
know some dodgy stuff has happened on that show. That
should be the regret, not that you asked one one
silly question, move on. Do you ever do that though?
Do you say something? Can you regret it? Mark? And
you fixate on it and it becomes like a loop
in your mind and the person that you said it
(12:54):
to doesn't even remember it.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
I mean, I can tell you on a red carpet once,
I was more forced to ask Ulanda Hadien how she
felt about Katherin McPhee being with her ex husband and
the face that she gave me for the rest of
my life. So, yeah, I can't understand and related to this, it.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Is wild on these carpets. They they are most of
them are in on the jack. Yeah, they get what
this is and they've been asked a lot worse like
when I think of some of the cheeky give questions
my friends have asked me. I'm fine with all this, Savannah,
move on, and Chloe, good for you for taking the
high road here. I think this is a great response. Okay,
(13:36):
moving along, We've got some real housewife drama. What is
going on? I'm thinking over this whole franchise. I think
bram is over it too. If the truth be told,
They're not rushing to get their shows back, but a
certain star is rushing to get back on what am
I talking about?
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Yes, she is the clerk is ticking on the Judas empire.
It's they're saying, is pulling out off the stop to
keep her mom, Teresa from being asked by Bravo. So
the show is their paycheck, which we know, and their
platform and their pride. And one insider is telling our
podcast that neither Teresa or nor Gia wants a real job,
(14:15):
and they wanted people the cameras really, and she had
recently appeared on Paycheck's radio preaching peace and clarity between
her mom and feuding relatives Joe and Melissa Gorgo. But
sources say the sudden burst of plumbacy is less about
family healing and more about saving the Real Housewives of
New Jersey. Apparently producers are fed up the same old feud,
(14:37):
and Gia is trying to save the show and Teresa
showing her in a softer late she's acting like the
family fixed her to keep the storyline alive.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
You mean well, here, I'm not going to be mean
to Jia. You mean well, but trying to save your
mom's job is never a good idea. Your mom needs
to save this job. Brava's got sick of this storyline
of Teresa. I'm Melissa Gorga fighting. It's just so boring.
It happens season And so what they've realized is if
we don't make up, we won't be coming back. And
so they so want this job. They want the money,
they want the power, they want all the perks. They're
(15:08):
gonna pretend to make friends. If they don't, they're gonna
cut off their naises despite their face. Ladies, if you're listening,
and I know some of the housewives steal are lower
lower lowe, suck it up because you'll be off that
show if you keep fighting, you are up. I've had
to work with a lot of people. I did not
like Mark, but it was the job, right, it was
the job. And for thirty minutes a morning, I'd have
to suck it up next to some monster on television,
(15:31):
but I'd a giggle and then when the lights went off,
I'd just turned the back and walk. And so you
can do that, Ladies, save your job. This is the
best job. You guess You're not gonna go on to
make movies after this. They all think that they Jill
Zaron thought after she was fired from the Housewives should
call me thinking she was going to be a movie star.
I said, Jill, I don't think you will be, but
(15:52):
I didn't want to rain on her parade. This is
the peak of your success. Milk it for all its worth,
and if it means being nice to your sister in law,
be nice. Okay, we're going to take a quick break
and we will be right back. Welcome back to the Naughty,
but Nasham your hair stompshooter, but the idea friend, Mark Lupo, Haileyppy,
Let's get to the poles. Last show, I had a
(16:14):
bombshell exclusive that Prince Andrew is going to be banned
from the King's funeral. So we know he's not going
to go to William's coronation. I'm told he's not even
going to go to the funeral. Should he attend? Now,
remember this is his brother. King Charles is his brother.
But he's so disgraced and if he's there, it's going
to distract him. Oh, it's very tricky, isn't it. Well
it sixty percent said, yes, you don't think he should
(16:35):
be there. I think he should have a private moment
with his brother. Maybe in the chapel on one side,
or maybe at the palace, but being there at this
big public funeral because they do they do this for
the masses. They do this for the public, and then
they often have a private ceremony for the family. Go
to the family part, but don't go to the abbey.
Don't do the big part. I agree. Don't forget to
(16:57):
vote on today's pole to a Twitter page at Naughty
Nice Robot Facebook page's Nobody Yossip and be sure to
check that time out row to hear your results. And
now it's time for and nicest of the day.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
Oh, I have a surprise for you, Rob, You are
the nicest of the day. That's right. So Rob Shooter,
a friend and fearless leader, has a new novel that
has Hollywood buzzing and insiders sweating, including me. So right
to move over to the devil Worst. Proud that there's
(17:36):
a new guilty pleasure in town and it's sharper, sexier
and aimed straight at the heart of fame. Celebrity insider,
columnist and VH one Gossip Table host Rob Shooter has
sold his debut novel. It started with the Whisper and
the buzz is deafening.
Speaker 1 (17:52):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
I love it and inside, thank.
Speaker 1 (17:55):
You so sweet, of you, so sweet. I got up
this morning to a lovely note from my publisher saying,
cracked the top one hundred. So Naughty's you did this.
It's pre orders. It's not out until next year, but
if you pre order it, it helps the algorithm. I
did not know this. I thought, oh, we'll just wait
till next to her and then I'll do some publicity.
I wasn't going to talk about it till after Christmas,
and he was like, no, if you try and sell
some books now, it will really set you up for
(18:17):
success when the book finally comes out. So if you
do have a minute and you want to order it,
I ask you to get an Amazon type in rob
Shooter type in. It started with a whisper. Either or
it will pop up, pre order it and you'll forget
that you've ordered it, and then in April you'll get
a lovely surprise. It'll be on your doorsteps. So it's
really exciting. I didn't quite expect this amount of attention
(18:38):
so quickly, but I'm thrilled and Naughty's I'm grateful. I
know it is because of you. Thank you, Mark, thank
you naughty. It's okay, that's moving along. I'm bright red.
I'm still got to get used to all this praise
is of the day. The free Britney leaders are ourn
autist of the day, so they have no intention of
helping Britney anymore. They're tired, they're exhausted. They got her free.
(19:00):
Now they have walked away. So it seems here inside
to say that they did all this without a plan.
They got a free they got out of the conservatory ship,
but they didn't ask what happens next? And I think
that's a problem. Oh I'm naught. Is the day end
with a moment of rab You get a robb, you
get a rub, You got a rub, You get a
rob So some will judge your growth and others will
(19:22):
applaud it. Choose your people wisely. When you start changing,
not everybody will clap. I know this growth threatens the
people who have been staying with you for comfort. Some
of them will call you selfish for setting a new boundary,
or distance themselves from you because you're different from who
you used to be. But let them talk, because the
(19:44):
truth is, you didn't need anyone to understand your evolution.
You just need the few right people in your life
to support you. Find a few people who can support you.
Surround yourself with the people who celebrate your progress, not
the ones who resent it. Because energy market is contagious,
(20:05):
make sure you're catching the kind of energy that lifts
you higher. Oh that is so true, Mark, As I
have become more successful less successful, Maya, I've had ebbs
and flows in relationships, and I really know the people
that cheer for me. I do know the people that
really want to support me, and I know the people
too who get uncomfortable by my success. Know the difference. Hey,
(20:29):
that is eat for today. Thank you so much for
listening to the Naughty bit Nice with Rob and Mark
show a production of iHeartRadio and Elvis Durand don't forget
to subscribe on the iHeartRadio app, Apple podcasts wherever you listen,
leave us a review if you can, and remember all
together now, let me hear you singing along. If you're
going to be all today, you've got to hear your Mark.
(20:50):
Nice keep Kat, it's not even nice with Ram
