Speaker 1 (00:12):
It's time we're gonna do the naughty but nice hum Yeah,
hot Rob Shooter. And it is Wednesday. Normally, our dear
friend Donnie Meacham joined us on a Wednesday, but he's
having a day off this week. Donnie, I know you're listening.
Hello and love alow my friend. I hope you're having
a fabulous day. Okay, let's jump into the show. What

(00:35):
time is it, my friends? It is tea time. Big
story at the top of the show, an exclusive. So
Gwenneth Paltrow is deadly serious about a new candle that
smells like her ass. Yes you heard that right. This
is not a joke. Gweneth Peltrow is actively toying with

(00:56):
the idea of launching a follow up to her now
legendary This smells like my vagina candle, and this time
it's all about the back. SOAUSS tell me, can you
believe we're doing this story? So as is done, we
quote Gredeth's not stupid. She's better at making headlines than

(01:19):
health products. And that's the goop modeler a candle like this,
it guarantees outrage, absolutely and millions of dollars in earned
media before it even hits the shells now. Let's not
forget the original Vagina candle broke the Internet. It's sold
out instantly and it's been resold for four hundred dollars

(01:41):
on eBay. It had nothing to do with self care
and everything to do with sensationalism, and Paltrow knows exactly
how to bottle that lightning again. So it smells like
my we'll say bottom that she's gonna says. It would

(02:01):
be the ultimate attention grabber, Perfectly timed as it always
is with Gwyneth to reignite Goop's bus as it faces
increasing competition from celebrity brands like skims Kin, Kardashians and
Rare Beauty. And also to Megan Markham, what do you

(02:22):
think about this one? Gwyneth makes me smile. She can
be so annoying, but she can also be very, very funny.
I remember when she originally did this candle that smelt
like her private parts. It is so silly, so outrageous.
I've never smelted, but it got her a ton of
press and really put Goop on the map. Sources I
spoke to such as an absolute brilliant, genius marketing expert.

(02:47):
She knows how to get us talking Goop, even though
it is almost a billion dollar brand, when he first started,
it did not have a lot of money. It did
not have a big ad budget. They couldn't buy ads
on some ways in magazines, they couldn't buy apps on websites.
And so the way that they got publicity, the way
that they got all this attention, was by being outrageous. Well,

(03:12):
Gweneb's greatest selling Goop product is going to have a
part two. It's like the movies. If you have a
big hit movie, the second movie is going to be
a hit, and then if that's a hit, they do
a third and a fourth. These franchises exist not because
they necessarily want to entertain us, but they make money.
And so Gwenneth's original candle made a ton of money

(03:33):
for Goop, got millions of dollars in free ads. So
why not do a follow up? Now? If it smells
like your front that that's been done, So what would
be next? Gwyneth is betting on her bottom, which brings
us to that whole question of the day. Gwyneth Peltrow
is dead serious about inventing a candle, putting out a candle.

(03:55):
That quote smells like my bottom. She's gonna use a
different word. Would you buy this? Do you want to smell?
Gwenouth Peltrose ass Oh good? Grieve? Go vote on our
Twitter page had naughteen Knights rob or a Facebook page
Nordi Gossip and be sure to check back to morrow

(04:16):
to hear your results. Now we've had a little giggle,
a little bit of fun, let's jump into this story
a little bit more serious here. So Jessica Simpson is
heartbroken after her brutal American Idol come back. No sales,
no redemption. So Jessica Simpson's long awaited return to the
spotlight it fell flat, and insiders are saying that the

(04:37):
backlash has left her devastated. So sources tell me that
the singer turned entrepreneur is absolutely heartbroken by the harsh
reception to her performance on American Idol Season twenty three,
for ginally her first TV appearance in over fifteen years,
and perhaps more unsettling, it didn't move the needle on

(05:00):
record sales either, sources tell me quote jess truly believed
this would relaunch her music career. It's a huge show,
lots of people watch it, but instead it became a
public roast and the fact that the performance didn't translate
into single sales, not a bump, no more radio play.
It is absolutely crushing. I used to work for Jessica Simpson.

(05:21):
I really like her, and she has poured her heart
and soul into this new album. She considers herself a singer,
not a reality star. She started as a singer. Music
is her first love. Performing is her first love. Yes,
she made a ton of money selling shoes and all
that other stuff from her clothing line, but it's music
that's what she loves. In fact, she was a singer

(05:42):
when Newlyweds, the reality show, came along and changed her life.
And one of the reasons she signed up to do
Newlyweds was to promote her recording career. And now we
all know what happened. Nobody really cared about the performing career.
We just all fell in love with jess A reality
star was born, and because of that she made almost
a billion dollars. So don't feel bad for her here,

(06:02):
but she really does want to come back now with
this album. It's gonna be so hard. It's gonna be
so so hard for Jessica to sell albums. She's been
away for fifteen years. The music business just does not
work like that. Wouldn't you go away, even if it's
for a few years. Look at Katy Perry. Kady Perry
went away for a few years. She did American Idol

(06:24):
and her album bombed. It didn't do so well. So
I'm looking at the numbers for Jessica. They're not good.
They're not good. Maybe if she goes on tour, maybe
that will help. But then again, we can't compare her
to Taylor's if we can't compare jazz to Beyonce. It's
a different type of vibe, it's a different place in
her career. She took a long time away. I'm told

(06:46):
the album's great, it's all done, it's finished. I hear
she sounds great. Goodness knows she can sing, She really,
really really can sing. She's a trivic singer. She's a
great performer. So fingers crossed here. But it must be
so heartbreaking. You do a big show and you expect
your life to change. You'd do American Idol and you
expect suddenly you're going to be back on top. Everyone's
going to be screaming and shouting your name. Didn't happen.

(07:09):
In fact, it was really was the opposite of that.
People were saying Jess's name for all the wrong reasons.
When Jessica performs, she makes a lot of faces, and
some people find those unattractive, not very flattering. I think
she looks great up there, but none exploding. You will
you give jess another chance? Now, let's be honest here.

(07:29):
She's never had those huge hits. Your boots are made
for book walking, My boots are made for walking. The
Nancy Sinatra song is probably her biggest hit. She did
a cover of that. I couldn't really tell you many
other Jessica Simpson songs and I worked with her. I
was around her a lot. I was at video shoots
Public Affair. That was the video shoot I was at
with Eva Longoria and jess It was such a fun day.

(07:52):
She was so great in it. Single tanked and then
the album didn't sell either. So if Jessica wasn't selling
albums twenty years ago, why would she be say telling
albums now? I love that this is her passion. I
love she wanted to do it, but don't expect great numbers. Okay,
moving along, Meghan Markel scrapped plans for a big anniversary party.
We told you yesterday that Meghan and Harry celebrated their

(08:14):
seventh wedding anniversary with a really beautiful sentimental Instagram post. However,
behind the scenes, plans for a glitzy bash quietly fell apart.
Sources tell me quote that it was meant to be
a huge celebration, but the guest list wasn't coming together.

(08:36):
The truth is their social circle has got smaller and smaller,
and Meghan knew the room would not really before and
so instead of doing this big, massive party, it was
a much more intimate, private affair, just Meghan, Harry and
the family. They had a private dinner in their fabulous
home in Montecitos, some friends there, but it was not

(08:58):
a big party inside does add quote. They just don't
move in those cirtles anymore and Montecito isn't the social
magnet they thought it would be. So Oprah, the Beckhams,
all these people. The cluone is all these people that
were invited to the wedding seven years ago. They weren't
invited because they were best friends. They were invited because

(09:20):
Meghan and Harry wanted to become friends with these people.
It never works out like that, does it. If you
do a list of people you want to be friends with,
probably not gonna work out. It has to be organic.
You have to meet them, maybe through work, maybe socially.
You have to become friends. Recently, Gwyneth Paltrow was asked
about Mega. Remember they did that little video together, and

(09:41):
so she said, we're just sort of texting each other.
I don't really know her that well. So you think
that they live this really huge life in California. Best
friends with Beyonce, best friends with Oprah, best friends with
George Clooney. Not true. It's a very small life. They
have a beautiful life in a magnificent home, a fourteen
million dollar home, but they don't have hundreds and hundreds
of friends. And so why do a big party when

(10:03):
you just don't have that many friends to turn up
and celebrate. And we know to family is not coming.
Family is not coming to this. Personally, I like a
small party. Bruce and I are celebrating our anniversary very
soon on June fourth, and it's just gonna be the
two of us. I know, no big party, no massive dinner,

(10:24):
none of that stuff. We're not going to go away
on a trip. It's going to be the two of us,
and we're gonna go for a really romantic dinner in
New York. And you know what, that's what I want.
I'd rather be with Bruce than anybody else. And so
that's a night for us. So there's no shame here,
Megan Harry, if you're listening, Hello, Hello, Alone, I just
wish you didn't want these celebrity friends that much. I

(10:46):
have very few, very few. I have one or two
celebrity ish friends. They're big stars, but the issues on
the friends, they're more colleagues or people I know, we're
not really that that close. And I gotta tell you
nor to is the celebrities that I've hung out with
the most not that nice. I would not tolerate the

(11:06):
behavior I tolerate from some famous people from anybody else.
I literally look at some people, I'm like, my goodness,
if you weren't famous, I wouldn't talk to you at all.
And so I use them a little bit. They use
me a little bit for my column, for my voice,
for all the gossip that I do, but not really
that close, and for a good reason, not that nice.
I've never really met somebody that I really wanted to

(11:30):
be friends with. That is super super Oprah type famous.
Oh Megan, I hope you had a wonderful, wonderful day. Okay.
Moving along Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos Is it's wedding time,
very soon, and I'm told that guests and staff guests,
not just staff. Guests and staff are required to sign

(11:51):
a non disclosure agreement. So Lauren and Jeff are sparing
no expense on their lavish Venetian wedding. It's going to
be in next month, and that includes locking down every
single guest and staffer with a strict non disclosure agreement.
Sources tell me that all the wedding attendees, including guests

(12:12):
like Kim Kardashian, Oprah, Katy Perry, Leonardo DiCaprio, have all
been asked as to sign non disclosure agreements covering everything
from private conversations to photographs and videos. No photographs, no videos.
Even the florists, I'm told, have to sign a non
disclosure Nobody is allowed to speak to the press, post

(12:33):
anything on social media, or hint at any of the
details before or during or after the ceremony. Laraen and
Jeff are going to put out a photograph. I'm told
they've been in talks with Vogue magazine, but that's not
going to come out for three months, so they're going
to want to get a picture out after the wedding.
Needs to enjoy press. They enjoy publicity, so I expect

(12:55):
there will be an official picture. But they want to
choose the picture. Not Kim Kardashian, not a solo celebrity.
There they can't pick. They're gonna pick at themselves, the happy,
happy couple. So non disclosure agreements to a wedding sounds strange,
doesn't it okay? Quickly before we go to break, I
hear Diddy's doctors are scrambling after prescriptions spark a panic.

(13:17):
So did these doctors, the people who helped the disgraced
rap mogul get drugs under fake aliases, are in full
blown panic mode as federal investigators zero in on one inside,
as are calling a proscription fraud, conspiracy tied to Diddy.

(13:38):
Sources tell me quote doctors are scrambling, calling lawyers, shredding records,
and distancing themselves very very quickly. They never thought it
would all come out in court, but now everybody in
the Beverly Hills medical communities all talking about this. The
alarm bells went off after prosecutors unveiled damaging images from

(14:01):
Diddy's twenty twenty four hotel arrest. Pill bottles. Prescription pill
bottles were labeled quote Frank Black. That's his name that
he goes by when he checks into a hotel. When
he's traveling, he uses the name Frank Black. Well, you
can check into a hotel under a pseudonym, a different name, lot,
so let celebrities do this. In fact, the names can

(14:23):
be quite funny. Sir Elton John's name is Sir Dick Huntington.
I'll leave it at that same more. But they come
up with these elaborate names. Did His name was Frank
Frank Black. However, you can check into a hotel with
a fake name, but you can't get a prescription with
a fake name. So they found a bag of pink
powder identified as MDNA, a drug, and also to prescription

(14:48):
drugs under this different name. It all feels very Michael
Jackson doctor shopping, going from doctor to doctor to doctor
to get a prescription and then get in a prescription
under a fake name. That's against the law. And the
doctors who prescribed. These fake prescriptions could be will be

(15:10):
in a lot of trouble. Okay, we're gonna take a
quick break and we will be right back. Welcome back
to the nauty but nic sham your hens from shooter. Hey,
let's get to the polls that the lat show we
talked about. Didd He is furious about the lack of
support outside the cord has lack of support. Not many
people are showing up. He thought thousands and thousands of
people would be there. They're not there. There has been

(15:33):
some suggestions, particularly on social media, that he might be
paying people to wear T shirts or to show up.
What do you think? Is this smart or is this pathetic?
Let's have a look. Seventy nine percent said prophetic. Okay,
don't forget to vote on today's bowl at Twitter page

(15:54):
and be sure to check back to mother Rahuer to
hear your results. And now, wow, it's time for the
nicest of the day. Oh, and nicest of the day
noughties is you? You guys have been so supportive over
me throughout the years, the podcast, the book, and now
the substack. Sometimes I feel like I ask too much,

(16:17):
and yet you are always there, willing, happy, you want
to help, and I appreciate that. From the books to
the podcast A nice substack. Ah, I've started substack. So
substack is a publishing site where you can go on
and publish news, essays, projects, gossip all day long. And

(16:40):
I've been playing with it now for about a month
and I've finally after about four or five weeks, hit
my stride. I know the formula. It's two to three
newsletters throughout the day, one in the morning, one around noonish,
and one in the evening. And each newsletter has between
three or four items in the big news of the day,
and that's all you need to read that day. So

(17:00):
in three emails you're getting one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
eight nine, potentially ten short news items a day. They
are easy to read. They're very very short headline two
three hundred words and then another item. So thank you,
thank you, thank you. If you are on substack, check
me out, Rob Shuter. If you're not on substack, it's

(17:23):
free to joy in and if you subscribe for free
to my newsletter, you will get it emailed to you
every time it posts, which is two to three times
a day. The nicest of the day, it's you naughty's
and now and not is the day naughty, naughty? I
noticed of the day is trauma, childhood trauma in particular.

(17:46):
So Madonna's in a very dark place again, consumed by
the grief that her mother died when she was just
five years old. So sources tell me that Madonna is
in a really bad place. She's really depressed at the moment,
and all this is really bubbling up because she changed
the color of her hair. She went dark. It's a wig,
I'm told, But she wore this dark wig as a

(18:08):
tribute to her mother, who died when she was very
very young, too too young. Her name was Madonna Louise.
That was the mom's name. She was named after her mommy.
She died of breast cancer when Madonna was just five
years old. Inside of say, she's unraveling and she's never
really processed this loss. Maybe that's why she went on

(18:30):
to be one of the most famous people in the world.
All that pain and they said that it is buried.
She has buried herself in work, fame and reinvention. But
after almost dying last year, it's all come flooding back.
Remember Madonna as hospital lies last year, in a bad shape.
She's in a bad shape again, and insiders are saying

(18:51):
it's because she never processed what happened to her mom. Heartbreaking. Okay,
let's end with something a little bit more inspiring. Moment
a rob You're gonna rub, you gonna rub, you gonna rub,
you gonna ub. A private life with your favorite people
is a happy life. It doesn't need to be loud
to be fulfilling, and it doesn't need to be posted
on social media to be real. Peace lives in privacy.

(19:14):
Happiness is found in the quiet moments, the inside jokes,
the deep talks, the unfiltered love. When you keep your
circle tight and your heart open, you realize you don't
need the world's attention, just your people. That's the real joy.
That's the good life, and that is enough. Once again,

(19:38):
A private life filled with your favorite people, that's a
good life. I live a big, loud life because of
what I do for a living. And that's what I
do for a living. It's not who I am. My
private life is very private. It's me. It's Bruce, you know,
to Lena, five or six other friends, and I love it.
I absolutely love it. It doesn't need to be loud to

(20:00):
be fulfilling, and it doesn't need to be posted to
be real. Hey, that is it for today. Thank you
so much for listening. So they're not a bit nice
with Rob and the Naughty Show. Donnie, we miss you.
