Speaker 1 (00:09):
Yes, it's time. Hello, Lola, La La, Lol, Welcome to
the Naughty but Night share your houst rob Shooter. It's Monday, Garan,
It's off today. I have a little bit of a
raspy voice. Everybody, don't worry. I'm NaN's sick. But I
was out last night. My sister's in town, Christine, and
we went out last night and we talked and talked
(00:30):
and laughed and laughed and laughed and talked and talked
and laughed and laughed. And so I have a little
bit of a sore throat today. But don't tory notties.
I've got a enough voice to get through the next
twenty minutes. Our gossip. What time is it? My friends?
It is tea time. Big story. At the top of
the show, there said no report at the Holder left
(00:52):
the Today Show after being asked to slash her massive
multi million dollar salary. So this is according to a
new bombshell report from Puck Financial Factors. They are saying
played a part in her decide in Holder decigning to
(01:13):
leave the show. One source tells the outlet that NBC
proposed a big pay cut for Holder, who is reportedly
so they say earning twenty million dollars a year. I
know that is not the case Nowenia that Savannah earns
about eight, I think Holder earns about six. So do
(01:34):
we ignore this whole report because they've got that detail wrong,
or can they be right about the pay cut but
wrong about the pay It makes me a little bit suspicious.
But let's carry on to a sources telling them that
the network is struggling to justify these hefty salaries amid
the decline in TV viewership. That Today's show average is
(01:56):
about two point eight million viewers. Massive, but compare this
to a decade ago when they were getting about five million.
About ten years ago, the Today's she got five six
million people every single day. Now it's about two point eight.
It's still great. TV has changed, hasn't it. We have
streaming services, we have our cell phones. People don't watch
(02:17):
TV like they used to watch it. We still love television,
We've just changed the way that we consume it. So
all the shows, all of them, have seen their ratings decrease. However,
we're often applying an old formula to salaries, and so
even though the ratings have decreased significantly, the hosts are
(02:41):
still getting paid these crazy sums of money for numbers
that they don't deliver anymore. The reason the cast of
Friends all got a million dollars an episode is the
numbers are massive, massive, massive numbers that doesn't exist anymore.
It's like when The Real Housewives pretend they yet a
million dollars a season. It's impossible. They just don't get
(03:03):
that because the numbers the people that watch those shows
are just not that massive. They're very successful, but it
doesn't justify that. So in TV, it really is a business.
We forget that, and the shows that stay on the
longest are not the best shows. They're the shows that
make the most money. So if you have a show
that's really expensive and gets a lot of viewers, okay,
(03:25):
but it's tricky. But if you have a show that
doesn't get a lot of viewers but it's cheap, that
show is more likely to survive. So they're gonna make
cuts here, not just the Today Show. We know that
Gail King has resigned her contract at CBS, but she
took a pay cut, So what do you think here
is how to making the right decision walking away? But
(03:48):
then she's gonna wear nothing. What do you do? Gosh,
this has happened to friends of mine. What do you
do when people come to you, the boss comes to
you and says, we're gonna cut your pay. You got
to do the same amount of work for less. I
always worry a little bit about money. I did not
grow up rich, and so money is certainly something that
(04:09):
I think about. And so I might say yes, I mean,
is it a bird in the hand or some people
are like no, no, your worth. The problem is with
that is you've got to be truthful. What is your worth?
Can other people do it? Holder leaving the Today Show?
Are they gonna lose any viewers? They might lose some,
but they're gonna save all this money. I don't think
(04:30):
it's twenty million, but it is many, many, many millions.
So what do you think about? This? One? Is our
pole question of the day. Hoder reportedly left the Today
Show after being asked to slash her massive salary. Would
you have left if they asked you if your boss
came to you today and said we're gonna slash your salary,
(04:51):
do you quit? Do you leave or do you negotiate? Well,
you know, if you're gonna pay me less, I'll just
do three days instead. Of five, we can do different hours.
I want less responsibilities. I think I would probably go
into that negotiation. But what about you here? Would you leave?
Yes or no? Hey? Go vote on our Twitter page
at Naughty Niserrab or a Facebook page which is Naughty
(05:11):
Gossip and be sure to check back tomorrow to hate
your results. Okay, moving along, I sort of love this.
Meghan Markle's email rule has been exposed. So there's two
different reports out about Meghan. We mentioned it on the show.
One is saying that she's a boss from hell. Someone's
calling her quote a dictator in hergh heels. But there's
another report out painting her as very supportive and a
(05:34):
solution finding boss. She wants to find a solution. So
two very different reports here. Now a source is coming
forward and saying that she has a really interesting email rule.
So Meghan fires off emails throughout the day, sometimes as
early as five am. She gets up really early, but
she doesn't expect her staff to reply right away. Sources say,
(05:59):
quote Meghan states in her emails, my workday may not
be your workday. Please do not feel obligated to reply
to this email and imediately. That's really interesting isn't it.
So she's saying, you work your normal work day. My
(06:20):
hours might be different, but if you all have to
put in six seven eight hours a day, you pick
when you want to work. She's very flexible about this.
She's her mom. She believes that her staff does not
need to be micromanaged. If you're hired by Megan, you
will do the work. You don't have to get up
at five in the morning. You don't have to get
up at two in the morning, at three in the morning,
you do you You pick your work day, and if
(06:41):
Meghan sends you an email very early in the morning,
then when you go to work, if you decide to
start work at ten or eleven or noon, then you
reply then. And so I think this is quite a
good idea. I once had a boss who used to
fire off emails all the time throughout the night. I
actually wondered if she ever went to sleep and so
fire off emails. I suspect sometimes she'd had a drink
(07:03):
or two as well, because the emails were sloppy, sloppy, sloppy.
She wanted me to write back immediately and told me off,
told me off if I didn't write back. So I
think this is a really good philosophy. Because we all
carry our cell phones everywhere, we have our email, and
I text with us. How often do you get upset
if you send a text or an email and the
person doesn't reply for maybe an hour or so. I
(07:25):
try to reply pretty fast, but I enjoy what I
do for a living, and it's not like I have
to put my phone to one sign and walk away
from my work life. I respond pretty fast, and I'm
quite short, like a yes or a no. I don't
do long paragraphs, but I do respond. Do you expect
people to respond to you quickly? My sister, one of
my sisters, doesn't really carry your cell phone around. She
(07:48):
might be one of the only people in the world,
so if I text her, she could eate three days
to respond. At first I thought she was quite rude,
but now she explained, I just don't carry my phone
around with me. It's not my life, and so I
do carry my phone, so I do respond very quickly.
What about you? Do you expect people to respond straight
away or you're Are you okay with them taking a
(08:12):
few hours? And staffers are also revealing that Meghan has
about sixteen employees working on a turn of projects, including
her charity, her Netflix, all the other stuff she has
going on. So that's quite a large staff to have
sixteen And a source tells me she's actually great to
work with, and they said that she's really big on
(08:34):
praising her team during meetings and she sends personal thank
you notes after big events. She insists on sharing the credit.
That's a sign of a good boss, isn't it. It
really is. It's not all me, me, me, me, me,
It's the team, and Meghan's very very aware. But her
team does for her. It's an enormous amount, and she
often sends them a little thank you. Know. I think
(08:55):
that's lovely. I tried to do that too with my friends,
with people I work with, when somebody goes above and beyond,
or even if they just do something quite regular, I
always say thank you. I think it's just just plight.
And I know people work harder when they feel appreciated.
Think about it in your own life. If you're appreciated,
(09:16):
if you get a thank you note, if you get
a nice email from your boss, I would suspect that
you want to work even harder. Now if somebody shouts
at me the opposite happens. Shouting at people does not
inspire anybody. In fact, it often makes them shut down.
So stop shouting and start inspiring. Okay, moving along, Kate
(09:36):
Middleton's come back is happening, but she may never return
to public life like she once did. So the Royal
family watchers are a buzz about Princess Kate as she
steps back into the spotlight after finishing her chemotherapy. A
Royal expert is revealing that Kate might have beaten cancer,
(09:56):
but her public role is likely to be changed forever.
So Kate now is never going to go back to
the role that she had before. I think she's learned
here that she doesn't have to be a full time royal,
which is ironically what Harry and Meghan wanted. They wanted
to be part time royals, and the Queen said no.
(10:16):
Kate's schedule was really really packed. Now she wants to
spend time with her kids. I think there's nothing like
a life threatening disease moment that makes you re evaluate
your life. And so Kate was working lots and lots
of hours, traveling a lot. She doesn't want to do
that anymore. She's going to spend time with her kid's
time with her husband, and she will turn up and
(10:37):
do official visits, but she's not going to be working
every day or every weekend. Now it's going to be
much more about her family. I like this. I had
this realization about five six years ago. I was working
so much that I didn't have a minute to enjoy
my success. And now I've got a lovely balance, and
I'm so glad I found it. I hope you have
(10:58):
one too. But think about that. If you're spending too
much time at work, then you're not having enough time
enjoying your success. So think about it. I think about
it constantly. Life sabalance, isn't it? You got it. It's
like an ingredient. It's a mixing bowl. You put a
little in, a little bad in, you mix it together
and you find the right balance for you. We are
(11:19):
wishing you the best, Kate. Oh this is a bombshell.
So now there's a new report that Savannah Guffrey might
be the next person to leave that Today show. So
following Herder's explosive announcement, rumors are swirling that Savannah might
also be considering her future with the show. Insiders that
(11:40):
NBC are absolutely in a panic here because they fear
if they lost her. Her contract expires next year. If
she decides to move on, they're starting from scratch. Savannah's
been a veteran of the show since twenty twelve. She
played a key role in navigating the show through the
really infamous Matt Lauer scandal. She did a great job there.
I think a lot of people thought that Today's show
(12:01):
could crash and burn without Matt, and Savannah really held
it together. She makes about eight million a year, a
lot of money, but she just doesn't seem to be
as into it anymore. And hold A leaving is a
big change. It looks like Craig Melvin or Laura Jarrett
are going to replace hold But who would replace Savannah?
(12:22):
I don't like these changes. When I turn on morning TV,
I like to know the faces. I like to know
the people. When they change it about, when they mix
it up too much, I don't like it. I think
in the morning, when I'm in my underwear having a
cup of tea, it feels very intimate, doesn't it. The
people I let into my living room on my television set,
I want to know them. I want to pretend they're
(12:42):
my friends. I want to like them. I like Savannah,
I adore hold that. That's going to be a real,
real loss. But I say, do not lose Savannah too.
That would be too much change too quickly. I don't
like it. Give Savannah more money. If it's true that
you could hold the salary, don't be negotiating it with
Savannah because she will leave. And if she leaves, where
(13:03):
are we? L Roker is the only one I know now,
and so no hold on to Savannah. Okay, quickly before
we get a break. Oh, this is a story. So
one of Diddy's accusers is saying there is a high
profile sex tape that is making the rounds. So an
attorney for a new Diddy accuser says she has been
(13:26):
contacted regarding the sale of one of Diddy's tapes. She
would not reveal who was in the video, but said
Comb's is and someone more high profile, and yes, it
is a pornographic tape. She said the following quote. They're
already are tapes leaking around Hollywood and being shopped around,
(13:49):
but one in particular contacted me to shop around a
very particular video of an A list celebrity. Wow, this
is a bombshell. Well, everybody is saying, j Loo, I
don't believe that's true. But who could it be? Who
was intimate with Diddy? Who was with Path and got
(14:12):
secretly recorded? The lawyer saying the person it's a female
in the tape. The A list celebrity in the tape
is not looking at the camera, so it appears as
if it is a secret recording. How despicable. Oh did
he Diddy? Diddy? I'm so disgusted, repulsed by all this news.
Normally a celebrity sex tape, it's quite something that I'm
(14:34):
interested in. Oh my goodness, it's it's titillations, isn't it.
It piqued your interest, Not under these circumstances. If somebody
was drugged, if somebody was forced into doing this, it
is so so wrong, And I hope all these tapes
are destroyed. We have no business seeing any of these tapes. Okay,
(14:56):
We're going to take a quick thing and we will
be right back. Welcome back to the Naughty but Nice
Show on the heads of Rob Shooter. Hey, let's get
to the polls, DA DA DA. Last show we talked
about Holder quit in the Today Show after twenty six
years with NBC. A question was very simple, will you
miss her? Will you miss Holder? Let's have a look on.
(15:18):
Ninety percent said yes, I will too. I really like her.
She's one of the few people on TV that I
can honestly say I really do like. I don't watch
that much TV anymore. I used to love it. I
knew all the anchors. I like Robin Roberts, I do
like Robin Roberts, I love Hoder, the late night guys.
I'm not saying to anymore. I used to love watch
(15:39):
What Happens Live with Andy Cohn. I've gone off that
a little bit now it's on too late eleven o'clock
or so and so. Hold is somebody that I do
enjoy that fourth hour after the Today Show, particularly when
Kathie Lee was there. Oh wasn't it fun? Oh? I
had so many laughs. I enjoyed it every single day.
I'm not even sure about the new talk show hosts
like Sherry Shepp. I don't know what Jennifer Hudson. I
(16:03):
don't know if I'm into them either. Has our relationship
with TV just changed? I think it probably has. But
you like me, will miss our dear friend Hoder? Okay,
don't forget to vote underneaz Paul will go to a
Twitter page at Naughty Nice Rob or a Facebook page
which is Naughty Yossip and be sure to check back
(16:23):
to morrow to hear your results. And now it's time
for her Nicest of the Day, the Nicest of the Days.
Kate Middleton's brother James Middleton, he's given us an update
sort of on his sister's health in a new TV interview.
So Jane shared an update on how his sister Kate
Middleton is doing after she finished her chemotherapy treatment. He said,
(16:47):
she's doing okay, but it's not for me to share
on her behalf how she's doing. He treads very carefully here,
it's not his story. He emphasizes the importance of her
privacy during the difficult time. He did conclude by saying
she's getting all the right support and she's focused on
what she needs. She's focused on family, and he said
(17:09):
it will take time. This is a process. James is
very careful about his sister and I like this. Too
many celebrities, too many brothers and sisters are out there blabbing, blabbing, blabbing.
James is not He's very careful and not because he
wants to make sure he doesn't upset Kate. I'm sure
that's part of it, but it's a deep respect. When
(17:31):
their sister, who was a middle class regular girl, and
she married into the royal family, everybody's life changed, not
just Kate's, the whole family. Everyone in the Middleton family
was now under this public spot like this really bright glare.
And James has suffered with mental health issues. He's been
honest about that. But when it comes to Katie knows
if he does a TV interview, he's going to be
(17:52):
asked about Kate, and so he knew it. But I
think his answers really really clever. It's short. He gives
an answer saying, quote, she's doing okay, but then he adds,
it's not for me to share on her behalf how
everything is going. That is up to her. James, You're
a class act. And I'm nicest of the day and
now I'm Naughtyous of the day. Naughty, naughty, naughty, naughty.
(18:15):
Ellen Degenerous is our naughtyoust of the day. So she
has a Netflix special out. We've been talking about it
on the podcast. Well now former staffers are saying it
miss the mark. So Ellen talks about her issues in Hollywood,
why she was fired, why her show went away, and
she said, I don't just care any more, basically. And
so six former employees are talking to Rolling Stone saying
(18:39):
this continues, who invalidate our experiences working on this awful,
awful show. So they said, it's fine for Ellen to
have a laugh and a joke about it, but they're
still left with trauma, and when she's giggling about it
and making jokes, she's basically denying their experience. And so
(19:00):
the staffers really not happy that Ellen's back out there
joking and laughing when they alleged serious sexual misconduct, intimidation,
and even racism. Three producers, three senior producers were fired
from the show. Fired from the show. One staffer said
to Rolling Stone, this comedy special missus the mark. Another
(19:24):
one said, it's very manipulative. Ellen is trying to rewrite
her legacy. But the truth is she was just an awful,
awful boss. Okay, let's end with a moment a arrom.
You're gotta rub your a rub, you got a rub?
I love this quote from Sarah Jessica Parker. Think about this.
A squirrel is just a rat with a cuter outfit.
(19:46):
Put on a cute outfit today because underneath our clothes
were all the same. We're all squirrels, were all rats,
were all whoever we want to be. But we are
the same. There is more that we have in common
despite if we were fab clothes, if we wear design shoes.
We still have feet, we still have legs, we still
(20:06):
have a halt, we still are human beans. Hey, that
is it for today. Thank you so much for listening
to the Naughty but Nice with Robin nat show. You
are the co host today. We're a production of iHeartRadio.
Don't forget to subscribe on the iHeartRadio app or Apple

you're going to be naughty, you got to be out

Ram
