Speaker 1 (00:08):
Advice shooters, it's time never love a lower low. Welcome
to the naught even nice show, your host, Rub Shooter.
It is Thursday morning, which means our dear friend Marco
Loopo joins us. Hey, Loopy, you're giggling already? Are you there?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Loopy?
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Lewis here? Hey Rob, Hey you look at delicious. You've
just got out the shower. Mark.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
I could tell every Thursday morning it's do you get it.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Early, especially for the podcast on Thursday? Or are you
an early riser?
Speaker 2 (00:39):
I wake up around six six thirty, and then I
got the notes, I read the stories, and I make
sure I feel like confident about what we're talking about
when I take a shower.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Oh, so prepared. That's why you're successful because you do
the work.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Yeah, you have to do the work. You can't just
show up and not do the work.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
A couple of times early on in my career, I
used to think I could just win it. I thought, oh,
this is not that, dear fair. Could I can be
interesting for six minutes or four minutes on a TV. No,
you can't do the work because if you've got nothing
to say, you can't pull off the segment you've worked
in TV for a long time. You can really tell
the difference between those who do the work and those
(01:18):
who don't.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
I mean, I've seen a few crash and burns in
my time, and it's then you just lose the shot
to do it again. It's sad.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
That's what it is. That's what it is. I think
this is relevant to all our lives. When I was
a publicist, when my clients used to do television, I
always told them, listen, the secret here. The goal here
is not actually to sell an album or to sell
a movie. It's to get invited back. If you get
invited back, that means that you've done a good job.
And we want a long term relationship with these shows.
(01:46):
We don't want you just on once and never again.
If you're not very good, you don't get invited back.
Speaker 2 (01:51):
Right and listen, Rob, you make it look easy, but
I know you put the work in. Oh, its work.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
I do the work. Okay, talking about doing the work,
but share it with you what I is it my
friends at els d Times so Banks story at the
top of the show. I love this story, and you
could take this story two different ways. I'm going to
choose to take it in a positive way, so Kelly
Clarks and he's struggling. We broke this story first. We
were the first people to tell you that her show
might not come back. Now she has been renewed for
(02:17):
one more season, but she's really struggling. She took a
couple of weeks off. All that's fine, Kelly, you look
after yourself. However, it is a multimillion dollar business. Television
is not a business that you can just sort of
let's see what happens. No, it is a multi million
dollar enterprise. So NBC rightly, so, there's nothing shady here. Rightly,
(02:37):
so have come up with a backup plan if Kelly
doesn't renew. Should they just replace a Hoder's name has
come up? Or should they start a brand new talk show?
That's another option for him. It's very expensive to do that. Well,
hod his name came up, and at first Holder was
very coy, saying, oh no, no, no. She was on
the Today Show. No no, no, no, no no no, Savannah,
if ever I came back to TV, it'd be sit
(02:58):
next to you. Days later, she did Adney Cohen's show
and said I'm interested. I'm on that show. Now that
Kelly has canceled her show in Vegas, and that was
actually pretty dramatic. Ninety minutes before a show to cancel it.
Something's going on. Holder has reached out one more time
to make sure everybody does know we we need a replacement.
(03:20):
I'm available. I don't think this is shady. I think
this is smart. This is how you get drubs. It's
not being a vulture. It's not waiting for the body
to die. This is just I think, being really savvy.
And let's face it, even though Hoder is brilliant, and
she is, she's a really good person. I've known her forever.
She's also to a real player. You don't get to
host the Today Show. You just don't unless you are
(03:42):
a player. Unless you play the system. You've got to
work that really hard. And so Holder is brilliant at
what she does that. This is not a dig at Hoder.
It's really not. But I think it's a move that
we should all look around and be like, oh my goodness,
maybe we should be a little bit more pushy.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
What do you think I think we are? Should And
I think there's an expression I really love it goes
stay ready so you don't have to get ready.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
And so's say it again, Marka.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
Like, it's statay ready, so you don't have to get ready,
and Hoda's ready. She's there. And that's what it comes
down to. Is she devailable. And I think too. You know,
it's not an easy job. It's very complicated and it's
time consuming. And I think when you are trying to
sell stuff in your life, you know, the Hodah has
this wellness brand, this this thing that she's trying to push.
It's great to have a base where you can promote
(04:27):
it and bring people in, you know, every day and
pand her to millions of people. And I think, if anything,
she wants to really launch this, this next step in
her life, a little you know, love from the talk
show wouldn't.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Hurt, doesn't her national talk show? Doesn't her? Let me
take you a little secret. When I started doing the
Today Show almost every other week, a couple of times
a month, I was Andy Cohen's understudy. So Andy was
booked on to do a gossip and entertainment segment every Monday,
and he just wasn't that into it. And Andy was
working on Sunday nights and then afterwards he probably went
out to the boom Boom Room with his friends for
(04:58):
a drinky boo and I didn't really want to get
up so that Today Show. Really I was like the
understudy when Andy wasn't available, would I fill in? And
there's no shame in that. There's nothing wrong with that.
I've got a lot of opportunities by making it very
clear to people I might not be your first choice,
but when your first choice doesn't work out, Rob Shula
can be there in ten minutes. I've often filled in
(05:21):
for guests. Then I do a good job and get
invited back. It's getting your foot in the door. Now
hold us. Foot is very much in the door of NBC.
They love her, they know they didn't really want her
to leave the Today Show, but now this opportunity might
come up, and it doesn't come up that often. Let
me explain. I think a lot of people are like,
why don't you have a talk show? Why don't you
(05:41):
do a talk show? There's not that many opportunities if
you think about it. Television only has so many hours
a day, and each of those hours is already locked up,
and Kelly Ripper's going nowhere, and GMA is going nowhere,
and so it's very very rare that all of it
alliance that somebody leaves that there's an opportunity and then
(06:04):
you get it. This is an opportunity and Holder is
really really savvy. Let's remember when Matt Lauer got fired.
Holder was not the first choice. It was going to
be somebody else. They were really looking at Willy Geist
and they even tried Willy out and it didn't quite
work out as they wanted it to. The numbers weren't
quite there. And it was Holder who said, you know what,
(06:26):
this is an opportunity. Do you grab opportunities? Noughties? When
an opportunity comes along, do you grab it? Would you
cloak yourself in this excuse? Oh it's too vulgar, it's
too rude. I couldn't possibly do that. I'll look too pushy.
What do you think about that? Which brings us to
our pole question of the day. Holder has makeing a
power move as Kelly slips, and I'm worried about Kelly.
(06:48):
I'm sending Kelly or our best. She's a professional. She
isn't somebody that just canceled shars, particularly nineteen minutes before
the actual curtain. So she's having a little bit of trouble.
What do you think is Holder a good trie to
replace Kelly Clarkson. Yes or no go vote on our
Twitter page at Naughty Nice rob our facebook page is
sure to check down my raval to hear your results. Hey, Lupie,
(07:12):
what are you working on?
Speaker 2 (07:14):
H Yeah, yeah, So rich Denise Richard's daughter Sammy is
threatening to tell Alle after the collapse of her mom's marriage. Yikes. Okay, so,
just one day before Aaron Fifersville for divorced from Denise Richards,
their daughter Sammy went viral for a TikTok about spotting
red flags and leaving a toxic relationship. So no insiders
(07:36):
tell Shooter Soup that she's sitting on some serious secrets
about the parish crumbling union us furs as, saying she's
seen the fights, the tension, and she's not afraid to talk. Rob.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
What do you think she does everything? I liked this, Saba.
I think she has an only fans page, which I'm
not a subscriber to. I don't need to see Denise
naked or Sammy half naked either. It's not my thing. However,
Sammy has struggled trying to find an identity. Her mom
is der niece, her dad is Charlie Sheen. It's difficult, like,
(08:10):
what is she gonna do? She's not really an actress.
I think she did a little bit of modeling. Now
she's doing only fans, which makes me cringe a little bit.
I know I'm being judgy here, but you know I'm
apprude about all that sort of stuff. And so Sammy's
looking for an opportunity, and I think she's figured out
that when she talks about her mom and dad, we
talk about her. What are we doing right now? We're
(08:31):
talking about Sammy. I wouldn't be talking about Sammy Sheen otherwise.
I have a rule on the show. If I say
the name mark and you can't visualize them, you can't
picture them, then they're not the right celebrity for us.
Like when I say Madonna, you know what I'm talking about.
When I say Jennifer Anison, you know who I'm talking about.
Sandra Bullock. You've got the picture in your mind, Sammy Sheen, Mack,
(08:55):
give me the picture in your mind.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Blank, no picture.
Speaker 1 (08:59):
I'm sorry, there's barely a picture on Denise. I'm going
to text me and I always get a mixed up
with Lisa Redner. Well, Denise is a very interesting person.
I've known her for years, and as much as she
likes fame and the spotlight, she's quite controlling about the message.
She still thinks she's a movie star. I remember when
she was a Bond girl, even though she's been doing
(09:20):
a lot of reality TV. Although her show has not
been picked up by Bravo for a sex season, I
know it hasn't been officially announced, but sources tell me
that is over. I feel for Denise here. It's very,
very tricky to have the source from coming from within
your own house. This would be like Jonathan, your brother
gossiping about you. Lupie.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Not great. But I think listen, it sounds like she's
supportive of her mom. It sounds like she's pushing this
on to her stepdad. She has had a difficult life, Charlie.
She is such a mess, or he was a mess
during the years that her formative years when she was
growing up, and so she's been through a lot, and
I you know, it seems like she is lost and
by sharing those things on the internet and it doesn't help,
It just creates more problems. But it does bring to
(10:03):
your point where we're talking about her. We wouldn't otherwise
be talking about her.
Speaker 1 (10:07):
I think that's what they want. I think you would
hear Sammy. And just on a side note, I can't
wait to hear all the secrets too. I mean, I
try to pretend that it's a terrible thing, and how
could she betray her mom? I'm all is Mark, I'm
all as Sammy sing like a canary. Okay, moving along.
Lauren Sanchez's sister, I didn't even know she had one,
(10:29):
had to ask permission to post pictures from the wedding.
So there's been only a few pictures from this wedding.
Official pictures. The cover of Vogue really photoshopped. Oogeous, gorgeous pictures.
These two are very careful about that image. And a
lot of people were there, two hundred people. Where are
all the cell phone pictures? Mark? Where are all the videos?
If you and the Europe were at this wedding, Mark,
(10:49):
we'd take pictures of one another. We definitely would take
a picture of Laurence dress. We would be there in
Oprah's business. We would take a lot of pictures. No
pictures from this wedding until Iren's sister Elaina started to
post some pictures behind the scenes. Now, let me be clear,
nobody you're sweating or picking their nose in these pictures.
They're the very styled pictures, they're very gladus. They don't
(11:13):
look like they were taken on a cell phone. They
look professionally taken. So I hit the phones. I said,
what's going on here? They said yes, she had to
ask permission, and so she showed her sister Lauren the
pictures and said, do you mind if I post these now?
I was at a wedding just a few weekends ago, Mark,
and I think I posted a picture just myself, but
(11:34):
I didn't ask permission. Do you think if you're at
a wedding you have to get permission from the bride
and groom to post something? Where are you on that?
Speaker 2 (11:43):
I don't think normally, but I think in this instance,
you know, Lauren feels like someone who is better seen
than heard. So for example, when you saw her after
she got that spaceship, she just sounded kind of crazy,
and I think it's better for her to be you know,
edited and to be produced. And so when you see
her in the in the wild, when you see her natural,
(12:03):
you start to realize, like the facade and everything, And
so I think you know, she's trying to protect her image,
and she also is married to one of the richest
people in the world and the world they can say no,
they can tell you no, you cannot post.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
This, you cannot post that picture. That's gonna upset Lauren.
Lauren now is the creator that fabily. Can you imagine
your sister, your brother married a billionaire, Mark, what would
you do if you married a billionaire?
Speaker 2 (12:25):
I mean, you know, Lauren's brother was kind of messies.
When he's messy. I mean, she has to, you know,
remind herself that her brother cause a major issue leaking
Jeff bezos private pictures to the to the world.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
You said it, darna google that. So that's a little
bit of her tease. Okay, quickly before we go to
break Jerry Hallowell, who was a spy s girl, remember
her Ginger Spies. She's standing by her man after he
was caught sexting. Oh Mark, what is going on?
Speaker 2 (12:56):
This is sad? So Jerry Hallwell is she's still wearing
her ring but it's he like it's getting heavier by
the day. So after Christian Horner's shocking firing from the
Red Bull Racing one year after his sexing scandal. The
Spice Girl's shaken and humiliated, but she's not walking away yet.
A source revealed she forgave him once, but this latest
blow is having her in a spiral. She's not sure
(13:19):
how much more she can take. Oh.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Oh, it's really tricky, isn't it. He's a very good
looking guy. I mean, I know that shouldn't make any difference.
I'm not saying if you're ugly, you can't sex, if
you're beautiful, you can't sex. I'm not saying that. It's
a very difficult one here. She's got a man she
really likes, she's got a baby, she has this life
that she now adores, and her husband was caught on
(13:41):
his phone sending naughty messages. Is that the same as cheating? Mark?
How do you fall on this? Well?
Speaker 2 (13:49):
I went through the text messages. They were not so wild.
They're pretty. They're pretty, They're very nosy, they were kind
of tame. I mean, listen, it's inappropriate because it was
an employee of his, and that is just a no
no in the workplace. I don't know the relationship. I
don't you know, I don't know the agreement is they
have together? If that's okay in their marriage, but it is.
If it's not, then I would be a little disappointed,
(14:11):
and I would wonder, you know, what's going on and
how far it went.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
But they felt flirty to me rather than sexting. There
was no naked pictures as far as my knowledge is concerned,
and there was no really vulgar words or explicit words,
but they definitely was was a flirting there. But I
think Mark, if you read through our text messages, we
sometimes a flirty, giggly, silly gooses, and so you can
read into it, can't you. And so I want to
(14:35):
give him the benefit of the downs here. I think
I could forgive this. So I'm not sure I could
forgive an affair. If you hooked up with somebody, AH
would be furious. But if you send someone a naughty
little note, Mark, I mean we've all said stuff. I've
certainly said in appropriate things at work. I try not
to any more. The world has changed, but I'm sure
you have too, Mark.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Yeah, And I think if our text messages were public,
you know, we send some naughty pictures sometimes another right right, right, right.
Speaker 1 (15:02):
But you know what I mean.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
It's yeah, this is unfortunate. He lost his job. I'd
be more concerned about him and losing this job. Where's
a paycheck coming from next? You know?
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Oh that's right, So you'll have to go back out
on tour. All up scary and we're going to go
and tell me what you want, what you really really want. Okay,
We're going to take out quick break and will be
right back. Welcome back to the Naughty but Nice. I'm
your usband Shooter with our dear friend Mark Luper. Mark
going on three four five years doing this podcast.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
I'm saying crazy, I love it.
Speaker 1 (15:33):
Do you still enjoy it too?
Speaker 2 (15:34):
I know it's fun. You know, we have a good
time every week, and it.
Speaker 1 (15:37):
Really does flex that muscle for me of presenting a story,
giving reporting, making sure what I say actually makes some sense.
This has been a skill, thank you Naughties, that I
have taken far beyond the world of podcasting. I'm a
better public speaker now because of doing this podcast. I'm
better on television now because of doing this podcasting. It
(16:01):
really has changed my life. What about you, Mark?
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Same? And I look at the comments the feedback from
the podcast, and people say, like, I appreciate you guys
being fair and being honest and having like, you know,
thoughtfulness when you report stories and talk about these topics,
and I really I think that's what we try to
do here every week.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
Yeah. I like that we're fair. We could probably get
more listeners, have a bigger podcast. If we were more outrageous.
We could become Joe Rogan if we said crazy things.
I just don't want to do eat Mark. That's not
we have. I like a piece of the pie. I
like that naughtie. I like a piece of the pie.
We can disagree on the show we often have. We
don't do politics. Also to my email is the Naughty
(16:37):
Gossip at aol dot com. The Naughty Gossip at aol
dot com. If you want to reach me send me notes.
There there was a little bit of a confusion Mark
where I gave out my email and nobody sent me
a note, and I thought nobody loves me. Oh, I
put the wrong password in my phone, so I was
getting the messages obviously, and then I figured out what's
a technical issue. All Now it's fixed the email away. Okay,
(16:59):
let's get to the polls that da DA last show,
we told you Jen Aniston is rumored to be dating
this life coach A hypnotist. Our question, Mars, is a
life coach a good fit for Jen? Let's have a look.
Eighty two percent said yes, it's a good fit. I
like it's not an actor not being successful with actors. Actually,
(17:19):
I think try something. You know. I'd rather go with
a businessman myself, but I could do a life coach.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
I think I was laughing at you yesterday trying to
pronounce the manifestation.
Speaker 1 (17:29):
Oh, it was sad, so funny there in the old days,
I would have edited that at the show. Now I'm
quite raw about it unless I say something really crazy
and I don't and you Mark too, like we've done
a whole show today. Let me say what. We're eighteen
minutes in with that one single mistake. You watch that.
We're gonna go vote, go vote up to day's go
(17:52):
to the page normally know is wrong. Our Facebook page
is Naddy gossip and I'm sure to check that. Turn
my row to hear your results, and don't blow it. Mark,
You've got one more item, nicest of the day.
Speaker 2 (18:05):
Oh okay, I'm a little nervous now. Pressure sound, so Siri,
cruise it's unless it's the day for a very special reason.
She rides the subway just like us. Oh, the nineteen
year old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, was
spotted riding the New York City subway this week, dressed
casually in a silver crap up and leggings, blending into
(18:27):
the crowd like any other Manhattan college kid, and sources
say she's incredibly grounded. She's not choosing fame and she's
just living her life.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
I like her, and I'm in the same neighborhood as her.
I see her on the street all the time. She
used to get a school opposite where I live, so
I used to see her get a school every morning.
She's really cool. She's really cool. Dad is like a
bigger star than maybe anybody in the world and dumped her,
and everybody knows that story. It's not like it's private,
and so she has to walk around the world knowing
that everybody knows her dad and she doesn't. She really
(18:55):
doesn't know her dad. It's really complicated, and I think
she has handled this with race with absolute style. Suri,
we are big fans of yours are nicest of the day,
and now I'm naughtice of the day. Naughty, naughty, naughty, naughty,
naughty and naughticed of the day other royal family again.
So it looks like Prince Harry is going to be
(19:15):
snubbed from King Charles's official funeral plans. He will be invited,
but sources tell me he won't be sitting with Camilla,
Kate or William. So when the King goes it's an
awful thing to talk about. But they have to make
these plans. He's been sick with cancer. Thankfully he seems
to be doing much better. But they are talking about
funeral plans. It's a massive, big deal. It's not just
an easy day. They shut down London like. It's a
(19:38):
huge deal to plan any event on this sort of scale.
Seating is very important, the seat and arrangements. I'm told
Harry and Megan will be invited. It is his father, however,
don't expect them to get the royal treatment. Makes me sad,
although after what he said about Camilla in that book,
it's hard to just pull up a chair and sit
next to me. So maybe being there but in a
(20:00):
separate part of the church, the abbey, the cathedral, maybe
it's a good idea. And what is the day, Let's
send with a murment of rab you get Rob. You
don't meet people by accident. Every person who crosses your
path shows up for a reason. Some are a lesson,
some are a blessing, and sometimes they can be both.
They'll challenge you, they can change you. They can open
(20:21):
your eyes, they can open your heart. Even the painful
ones can leave an impact. There are no coincidences marks,
so trust, trust the connections, and learn who you are
meant to be. I really believe this mark. You came
into my life. My friends came into my life for
a reason, some good reasons. You're a good one, some
(20:42):
bad reasons. Donnie, I'm looking at you. No, he's but
like trust, trust these connections and you will learn something
from everybody, sometimes a blessing, sometimes not so much a lesson,
but you will learn. Hey, that is it for today.
Thank you so much to listening to an unedited did
We've not ever done a show that a terrible mistake,
(21:05):
but today we pulled it off, so they're not even nice.
