Speaker 1 (00:08):
Scable advice. Suree, welcome to the Naughty n Night Show.
I'm your host, Rob Shooter, and have a bit of
a cold today. Remember yesterday I sounded a little, a
little raspy, like ad been up all night drinking whiskey
and smoking cigarettes. Well I hadn't, But what I have
been doing is putting up with this cold I've had
(00:30):
for the last twenty four hours. So I feel better
than I sound, So stick with me Naughty's and luckily
we have somebody who can talk talk talk today. We
love listening, listening, listening. Our dear friend delight that Dixon
joins us. Hey, miss d are you there? I am?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
And you know what? I wish you had been with
me in Miami for Art Basil, you would be feeling great.
I had the time of my life. I went to
so many parties, the Patina Experience. I went to the
Ebony Forward Art Collection, I was at the Bleacher Report
party at the Residency. I ate everywhere, Oh Malino, I
ate a red Rooster an overton a historically blacktown. But
(01:11):
the best part of the trip was seeing our pal
Jay Draff on stage performing with Sarah Braightman, the original
Christine from Phantom of the Opera. He is amazing. If
you are a Sarah Braightman fan, please check her website
get tickets, CJ. You will not great.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
We've known him a long time, amazing ten years. When
we met him, he was working I think as bartender
at a Latin on Broadway or a Broadway theater, and
he always had dreams of being a singer. He was
always talented, but he needed that break. Now he has
the break of a lifetime. He's singing with Sarah Brightman. Jay.
If you're listening, Oh, we couldn't be more proud. Okay,
(01:51):
let's jumpo Brown into the show. What time is it,
my friends? It is tea time. Big story at the
top of the show. Anniston has revealed that she texted
Matthew Perry on the day that he died. She said
he was happy and he was healthy. So Jen is
talking out about the death of her friend. In an
interview with Vriioty, I'm quite surprised she's doing this. She's
(02:14):
promoting the morning show, and obviously she was asked about Mattie.
That's what she called him, not Matthew. She called him
Mattie and she went into great detail which is very
unlike her. She normally just sticks to what she's promoting.
She doesn't let you in. But she said quote, I
was literally texting him that morning. He was not in pain,
he wasn't struggling. He was happy. I want people to
(02:37):
know he was really happy and getting healthy. He was
on a pursuit, he worked so hard. He really was
dealt a tough one. I miss him deally. Boy did
he make us laugh Lots of things here, Misty. I
love the fact that she's going out of her way
to tell us how he felt, what he was like
(02:58):
the day of the death, because there's still a lot
of rumors, a lot of speculation about how he died.
They have deferred the pending toxicology reports, so we don't
actually have a definitive answer yet. I hope Jen is rise.
I know from my friends who have suffered, who have
(03:18):
struggled with alcohol and substance abuse, often they seem very happy.
They're very very good at putting a mask on a
face on to the outside world, where inside they're falling apart.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
What do you think about all this, Well, when you
think of friends, I think one of the reasons this
show has endured is because we really saw the chemistry
between the actors and they really truly are friends. So
she is going to defend her friend to the end,
and actually it is at the end, so she's going
to say he seemed happy, he seemed healthy, And Matthew
(03:53):
Perry actually said that when any of the Friends cast
would walk into a room at a party, even if
they hadn't spoken for a long time, they'd literally huddle
in the corner. So their friendship is real, and I
can understand. You know, if somebody something happened to any
one of my friends, of course i'd be there to
support them. So I think that's what she's doing here
(04:15):
and just wants to also remember him as healthy and
healthy as we would all want to.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
That's what she's That's definitely what she's doing here. Jennifer
and Matty were the closest. He even said that she
was the one that reached out to him the most.
She was very very close with Courtney Cox and Lisa,
but it definitely as between the boys and the girls,
it was Jennifer and Matthew Perry that stayed in touch.
And so it doesn't surprise me that the day he passed,
(04:44):
she texted him because she texted him all the time.
They didn't get together that often, they didn't get together
and hang at that much, but they did stay in touch.
And let's be honest here, what they went through together
only they can experience, only they can can understand. So
it really pushed them close together, as however happened with you.
(05:04):
Is there anyone you've ever worked with, miss d or
a project that was so intense? For me, it was
my PR days. I really felt like I was in
the trenches, particularly when we did Crisis PR. I still
remember sitting in conference rooms talking to friends, and we've
stayed in touch right till this day.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Yeah. So I did this little show called The Gossip
Table and there was this brush British host who kind
of commanded the table, and we grew very close during
that experience. Yeah, so obviously, you know, there's the way
a show works or anything is to have real chemistry,
(05:44):
whether it's it's positive chemistry, which we had, or sometimes
even negative chemistry, which we have also had a little
bit on our set, and so that's what makes people
want to watch. And so I'm so glad that you
and I came through it and we are closer than ever,
so you know, oh, when you meet people at work
and you have that bond, you know, if it's allow
(06:04):
it to go outside of the workspace, if it's safe
for you. And I always felt safe with you and
I still do to this day.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
Something thank yousual, mister mutual, which brings us to our
whole question of the day. Jennifer texted Matthew the day
of his death. Our question is are you surprised that
they were still this close? Are you surprised because you
do grown apart. We've had people that we've worked with
that we saw every day for years, and maybe we
don't talk to them that often anymore. I'm not saying
they fall out, but are you surprised that they are
(06:33):
still this close? Hey? Go vote on at Twitter page
at Naughty Nice Robb or at Facebook page which is
Naughty Gossip. But she let to check back tomorrow to
hear your results. Hey, miss Deeve, what are you working on? Oh?
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Well, Sophie Turner, as you know, she she got divorced
from Joe Jonas and she's waded back into the dating pool,
gone on a few dates with different people, but she
seems to be growing closer on one particular person and
I can tell why. So she really seems to like
spending time with pea Green Perry Pearson. So the twenty
(07:10):
seven year old actress has become progressively closer to the
British aristocrat. He's actually a viscount who works as a developer,
turning British estates into private clubs. Now they are close
in age, she's around twenty nine years old and things
are still very new, that's what sources are saying. But
she's really happy with how things are progressing. Now. They've
(07:32):
been back in October. They were spotted in Paris and
they had a little subtle PDA, you know, they didn't
want anybody to know what they were doing. But it's
been a few months later and now they don't care
if the paparazzi sees them kissing and hugging. But Sophie
doesn't want us to call this a full blown relationship yet.
You know, she's still dealing with the divorce. She has
(07:52):
to worry about her kids, and it's too soon to
tell if Perry Pearson is actually long term material potential.
He's a British aristocrat, I think he is, and you know,
obviously she's been moving on from Joe Jonas. They had
that horrible kind of child custody agreement that they yeah,
(08:13):
they settled, and so she's looking for love as we
all are. So rob Do you like a British oth?
Speaker 1 (08:22):
What's not to like? He's very handsome too, say that.
I've been looking at pictures of him. He's quinde a catch.
I've known about him being a bridge for quite a while.
He's a very eligible bachelor, and she's eligible now too.
Some people are saying it's too fast, she's not divorced yet,
but that marriage is over. It is over, and now
it's just a technicality. There's no chance of them getting
(08:42):
back together. Now. They could be divorced as fast as
the court moves. So if the court moves fast, they're
divorced today. If it's slow, they've gone await a few
more weeks. So I think once you know, you know,
once you know it's over, it is over. I like
to take, at least in my mind, a little bit
of time, a moment, just to get my head back together.
But I'm quite cautious when it comes to love. I
(09:03):
don't dash in so fast. Their misty, what about you?
Do you dash into or do you do you take
a minute.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
I've had some rebound moments, but for my last relationship,
it's taken a while. It took about two years, and
I mean other things took precedent. But I am ready now.
One of my resolutions for twenty twenty four is to
find love, and I do have my eyes on a
certain someone actually that I met on a plane, so
(09:31):
we have a little inter Instagram relationship.
Speaker 1 (09:34):
I love how optimistic you are. Miss d always believes
and I love this that the next great love of
your life is just around the corner there there you
have to don't you have to them? You could turn
a corner, you could go to a restaurant, you could
get on an airplane, and you could meet the real
true love of your life. I love that you totally
(09:55):
believe that. I think I do too. Okay, moving along,
Prince Harry's legal battles against Tabloid have took a price
he turn. It's no secret that Harry has been tangled
up in legal woes various different publishers Tabloids since about
twenty nineteen, but now again in a glimpse of the
hefty prize tag that comes along with going after these outlets.
(10:18):
So a judge has not only dismissed Carrie's attempt to
go after the Mail on Sunday, they've also demanded that
Harry must pay the Mail on Sunday's legal costs, which
are about fifty thousand dollars. Now, obviously he can afford this.
They're making hundreds of millions on all their endorsements, their
deals here in America. But this is a big loss,
(10:41):
Miss d Do you think it will make him think
twice before moving forward or is no? He's determined, at
least in his eyes, to get justice.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Yeah. I mean, it's been proven that when Harry and
Meghan don't like something that is said or done to them,
they are going to speak their truth. What this shows
is that them speaking their crew doesn't necessarily always kind
of turn into a legal man. But I don't think
they're going to back off. I think when they feel
that they have been unjustly dealt with, they are going
(11:16):
to speak up. And that is how they have chosen
to move forward, and we can't fault them for that.
If they feel very strongly that something was said that
was wrong or misconstrued, we all have a right to
stand up for ourselves. However, in a court of law,
it may not stand up because you know, legal battles
are legal battles. But if you want us speak up
(11:39):
about something you felt that's been wronged, you should be
able to do that.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
I agree with you. I think that instead of going
through the legal channels, which are very very difficult, and
you have to prove that something was said with malice,
that there was an intent to hurt you. It's really
really hard to prove this stuff. I think the way
that I would speak up is just issue a statement.
I'd get back on social media and every time there
was something that I didn't like that I didn't I
think was true that was said about me, I did
(12:02):
you a statement saying that's not true. And I'm not
sure i'd get the legal root here unless it was
really really serious. It's just so hard misty. Once you
get involved in all that legalies, it's expensive. That's why
a lot of people do not sue, including celebrities. They
don't sue because it's just a massive undertaking. I wish
it was simpler to do this, but lawyer's really really expensive.
(12:24):
There's been times in my life mystery where I felt
wrong and I felt like I could potentially bring a
legal case, but I didn't do it just because I
couldn't afford it. Does that ever happen to you.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
I'm not something that's so kind of slandering or libel
that I would need to take that road. But I
have been in situations where things are pictures are shown,
or things are said, and a lot of times I
kind of just let it be. And the reason why
is because once you do say something and you have
a loss like this, well then it opens doors for
(12:57):
people to say whatever they want thinking that they're so
I mean, I remember once somebody said something about me
after I was on the Wendy Williams Show. It was
on YouTube and my mom read it. Okay, Mama de
read it and she was like, hold this person, wait,
what's their name? Let me write them back. And I
was like, ma, this is some internet troll. They don't
(13:19):
have a life. I was the one on the TV.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Yep. Yeah, it's hard to know when to back off
or when to forge your head. But Harry and Meghan,
you're right, mist they have every every right to do
whatever they want. Okay. Britney Spears reached out to her
sister and then deleted it. What am I talking about?
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yeah? So, as we know, Jamie Lynn Spears was on
Dancing with the Stars eliminated pretty early back in October,
but Britney Spears did briefly support her sister with an
Instagram post before she deleted it, and so the Toxic
singer shared a photo of the Zoe one oh one
album on her account and wrote, I'm so proud of
(13:57):
my sister. She did so good on Dancing with the Stars.
So we're, you know, we're kind of like, oh, the
certain storage of positivity yeah, over her sister, you know,
despite jamie' Lynn's early accent, maybe due to a fragile
reconciliation between the two sisters after Jamie Lynn's book Sweet
Magnolias came out and Brittany wasn't very happy. So sources
(14:20):
are saying that they are speaking, and that's so happy
to hear. You know how I feel about family and
siblings and how important it is to keep those things alive,
even when we've said things that are her.
Speaker 1 (14:33):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, My sources tell me the reason Brittany
deleted it was not because she changed her feelings her
mind about her sister. Jamie Lynn. She posted it after
Jamie Lynn had been eliminated, so she wasn't helping her
sister because she'd already been voted off the show. So
Brittany just figured that out a moment too late, but
I think the intention was sweet. Quickly, before we get
(14:54):
to break, everybody's talking about Prince Louis missing finger and
apparent photoshop fail on the family Christmas card. So Kate
William put out a beautiful Christmas card with their children.
It's adorable, and the mischievous five year old's finger appears
to be missing. Is it's either under his hand or
somebody cut it off. I don't think anyone is focusing
(15:15):
on little Louis's fingers in the palace here, so I
think it just looks a little weird, but I don't
think it's a photoshoph have a look and let us
know and we will be right back. Welcome back to
the Lordy but I Show. I'm rob Sheena. Thank you
for sticking with us today. As my voice progressively gets worse,
don't worry once again, it is just a cold. I'll
(15:35):
be fine in twenty four hours, I'm sure. Hey, let's
get to the pole Yesterday we talked about Matt Lauer
and Savannah attending the same wedding six years after he
was fired from the Today Show. I was at the wedding.
I saw it all go down. It was actually rather
a sweet moment. There was no drama there. Savannah went
(15:57):
up to match, she hugged him. That question was was
this all awkward? Or is it about time? You haven't
seen somebody for six years and then you bump into
them at a wedding awkward? Or about time let's have
a look? Wow you naughty? He's a so sweet? Sixty
percent said about time. It's time to move on. It
was six years ago. These two used to be friends.
Something awful happened. We're not taking that away. But then
(16:19):
they saw each other again, and instead of being shady,
instead of being awkward, instead of looking at the ground
not being able to make eye contact, the two of
them hugged, and it was about time. Don't forget to
vote on today's pole. Go to a Twitter paget naughty
nice robber, a baseball page which is naughty him, and
be sure to check back tomorrow to hear your results.
(16:42):
And now it's time for a nice nice of the day.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Ah Well, our nicest of the day is the Golden
Globe nominations twenty twenty four. So here's a rundown. Barbie
earned nine nominations, including Best Comedy or Musical and a
Best Actress nod for Margot Robbie Oppenheimer owned eight nominations,
and so Martin Scorsese's Killer of the Moon had seven
(17:11):
and is competing for Top Drama. Now, mister has to
take a little moment here because The Color Purple, the
new musical movie, is not in the top contenders for
Best you know, Comedy or Musical. However, several of its
stars are in the acting categories, and there is at
least one person of color in all the film acting categories.
(17:33):
So Hollywood Foreign press is taking baby steps to be
more diverse, and we are happy for that.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
We're happy for that. Fantasia is meant to be incredible. Yes,
Color Purple. My favorite movie of the year that'spt for
Best Picture is the Leonard Bernstein movie Maestrow. Have you
seen it yet? It's Bradley Cooper.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
Oh no, I will.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
It's really putting it on the list, really really, really good.
The Golden Globes are back and I'm nicest of the day,
and now I noticed the day. Naughty, naughty, naughty, Hugh
Grant is choking that he's just too old and too
fat and too ugly to make rum coms anymore. It
drives me crazy. Hugh, you're gorgeous. I would kill to
(18:17):
look like you today, tomorrow, ten years from now. You
were just genetically blessed. You're a very very good looking
man and so. Reflected on his past rum crumbs, he's
saying that he's happier now than ever, but he's got
too old and too fat to make them any more.
So now he's doing other stuff that interests him. Oh you, Grant,
(18:39):
stop being such a grumpy grump. It really bugs me
when beautiful people, really gorgeous people are like, oh I'm
not that pretty or I'm just not that cute. Own it? You, Grant,
You are gorgeous. Are you a little older than you
used to be? Yes? So am I? So all of us?
Are you a little heavier than you used to be? Yes,
so am I? We all of us. It's cold growing up,
(19:02):
but you can still grow older and still be gorgeous.
And you are, Hugh Grant. I not the Dame that's
end with a moment of rob you. Once you are matured,
you realize that silence is more powerful than proving your point.
When I was younger, I had to prove my point.
(19:23):
If you did something that I didn't like, I had
to prove that you were wrong. I had to win
the argument. There's no such thing as winning an argument.
You're never going to convince the other person. So instead
of trying to prove your point, make the most important
thing now your silence. I've learned to walk away. I've
learned to say hello and walk away. I don't need
(19:44):
to fight. I don't need to prove my point. I'm
never gonna change you. I'm not gonna convince you, So
walk away with your head. Hell di Hey, That is
it for today. Thank you so much for listening to
Not Even Nice with Robert mist Show, a production of
I Heart Radio. Don't forget to subscribe on the iHeartRadio
app Apple podcast wherever you listen, leave us a review
(20:06):
if you can. They really do help and remember all
together have helped me out. I've got to croak these
last six words, atmost six or seven words. If you're
going to be got to be everybody it's not even
nice way
