Speaker 1 (00:09):
Vis time.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Low. Welcome to the Naughty but Nic show'm your host
of Shooter and it's Tuesday, which means our dear friend
Delana Dixon is joining us. Hey, mister, are you there?
Speaker 3 (00:23):
I am, and it's extremely early where I'm going in from.
I'm actually in Los Angeles.
Speaker 2 (00:31):
Let's be honest with everybody. So normally, when we tape
a show from Los Angeles, which we do every week
with Donnie, I can't ask Donnie to get up at
five am to tape an eight am show. That's the
time we normally take between seven point thirty and eight
am because we want to get you all the new
dish of the day. So with Donnie, we pre tape
(00:52):
late at night and then it's scheduled to run in
the morning. And it's lovely because Donnie doesn't have to
get up early and actually I can have a little
bit of a sleep in. I really sure the Wednesdays
that Donnie's on. However, now that miss de has become
an international traveler writing cover stories and whizzing around the world,
you find yourself in La So I didn't text you,
(01:12):
and I was like, should we pre record this? And
you are a trooper? You said, I will be up.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
I am up.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I mean, the nice thing about visiting la And when
you're a New Yorker is that you're still on East
Coast time. So it was actually up about an hour ago.
But listen, I couldn't miss the Nazis. I missed two weeks.
I was like, I am packing all my equipment and
I will be there for the Nazis.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
They deserve it. So I am here.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Let's jump
into the show and give everybody what they want. What
time is it, my friends, It is tea time. Yesterday,
late in the day, Kate Middleton the Palace put out
a really powerful video. I've never seen anything like this
from the royal family. It was so intimate, it was
so personal, it was so behind the scenes. It's really
the opposite what this family normally does. They're normally a
(02:02):
little bit stand offish, they're normally a little bit well
self produced, to the point where they don't let you
in that much. This is like a three minute love story.
It's like a documentary. We'll have been going through it
with a fine tooth comb, and we have lots of
things that stand out. The most important one I think
is that Kate is in the driving seat, So in
(02:24):
the early shops of the video, Kate is literally driving
the car. It's a clear metaphormasty that she's taking control
of her life. Do you agree?
Speaker 1 (02:33):
Absolutely? I mean the video was just amazing.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
First of all, we all wanted to see Kate first
making this announcement that she is cancer free, her chemotherapy
is done, and then giving us three minutes of her
life is just incredible. I think it's what everybody needed
to see. I think it was just so beautifully done.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
And if I might be dare I be.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
A little bold to say they may have learned from
some family members that love to put their lives out there,
and I know they want to connect with people on
a more personal level, and what better way to do it.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Absolutely, you're so smart, Misty a source of mindset this morning, Harry,
and they can have changed the family forever, for better
or worse. They have definitely changed his family. And after
what three hours on Oprah being that intimate, they changed
the rules and now the rest of the family has
to respond. They don't have to do tennel books and
they don't have to do interviews with Oprah. But no
longer putting out a fifty word statement. It's not going
(03:35):
to cut it anymore. Now we want more from these royals,
and I think Kate William her family has certainly met
the challenge. In this video I thought was interesting too,
missd Is. There's a lot of trees in the video.
We see Kate standing at the base of a tree,
and my insiders are saying this symbolizes growth and wisdom.
We should remember as well though, the last time Kate
(03:55):
gave us a personal video, it was back in June,
and where was she standing in front of a tree?
So clearly trees mean a big deal for Kate. I
think too, the metaphor was she's stepping out of the woods.
She's been in the woods for a long time and
now she's stepping out. Another little detail I loved, mister,
and I've been really looking at this carefully, so you
(04:16):
don't have to. You could just sit back and enjoy it.
If you notice there are several close ups now in
they close up that's on purpose, that's not by accident.
That means they really want you to see this. They
do close up several close ups of an eternity band
on her ring finger, replacing her iconic sapphire engagement ring
that used to belong to Princess Diana. I thought that
(04:38):
was really really interesting releasing a butterfly. At the end
of the video, Kate rather dramatically releases this beautiful butterfly.
It's a classic symbol of hope and transformation. Mister, did
you notice she's wearing a new pendant too around her neck.
So she had this fabulous new necklace on and it
had the initials see G L. That's her children's name,
(05:04):
so Charlotte, Prince George, Prince Louis. I thought that was
such an amazing touch, and this is showing everybody the
importance of her role as a mother as well as
a princess. I thought it was really interesting, Misty that
we got to see the Middletons, so it was quite brief,
but Kate's mom and dad were in the video. This
(05:27):
is showing that not only is she being supported by
the Windsors, but also to the Middletons, her family are
involved in this. I think if you marry into a
very powerful family, maybe this has happened to you. That
family sometimes gets all the attention and your family, how
can it possibly compete with the king, with a queen,
(05:47):
with trs with booking a palace. The Middletons have been
there for Kate since day one. When Kate got sick,
her mom moved in. William has a great relationship with Carol,
his mother in law. Overall mystery. I give this video
an a plus. What about you?
Speaker 3 (06:05):
I mean, absolutely again, we have to realize, even though
it's a video, it's very intimate.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
We are dealing with royal.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
So it's going to be very produced, down to the minute.
So anything you see, nothing is a mistake. Everything is intentional.
But the point that they want to make is that
she is healthy. She is looking forward to growth, she
is looking forward to spending more time with her children.
Even that thing with the family, Like you said, letting her,
letting you know that her side of the family has
(06:35):
been there, has been supporting her. Everything was thought out carefully,
and if I may be so bold, maybe another side
of the family can learn. You can tell a story
about what's going on without insulting or bringing anybody else
into it.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Just tell your story.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Tell the story. Don't need to don't need to yeah,
don't need to exaggerate, don't need to make stuff up.
Tell your story now. Remember when it was first announced
that Kate was ill, they were quite shady. They didn't
reveal a lot of information. So I think they've learned
from that mistake. Initially, there was all those rumors. We
had celebrities out there doubting she was even sick. Andy
Cohen had to apologize and so this I think Blake
(07:15):
Lively had to apologize. So they didn't want to go
down that route again. And honesty is always the best way.
You don't have to reveal everything. Think about this in
your own life, but you do have to reveal the
key details or the emotion, the feeling. And I think
that's what Kate did here. She released to us all
how she's feeling. What I thought was fascinating too. And
this is a bit of an exclusive here on the
(07:36):
Naudy but Ny Show. There was a disagreement initially between
William and Kate, not an aggressive disagreement, but whether or
not to include the children. Kate is fiercely protective of
these kids. We've never seen her children like this before.
We've just never seen behind the scenes. William was the
one that encouraged Kate to do this, because they are
very much part of the family. And let's be honest here.
(07:59):
Unlike Celebt British who have children, these kids are in
the family business. It's not just a family, it's a job.
And so that's where the Royal family gets very, very difficult.
You can't be private. If you're an actor, you can
say I chose to be famous, not my kids. Or
when you're in the Royal family, the whole package seems
(08:19):
to be seems to be tied up in that, which
brings us to our pole question of the day. Kate
and William initially did not agree about including the children
in their video. I don't want to over emphasize this.
They didn't have a fight about it, but the level
of cooperation with the children is something that was discussed
and it should be discuss this stuff before you do it.
And initially they didn't agree, they obviously found a conclusion
(08:41):
something that made them both happy. How question is quite simple,
should the children be on camera? What do you think?
Because now that they've led us into their lives mystery
we're in. Go vote on our Twitter page. I had
naughty Nyes rob Our facebook page is the Noredy Gossip
and be sure to check back tomorrow to hear results. Hey, mystery,
what are you working on all right?
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Beyonces, the beehive are buzzing with outrage because the CMA
Awards failed to nominate her highly successful album Cowboy Carter,
which is kind of redefine the genre. It received zero
nominations for the twenty twenty four show, leading her devoted
fan base to call the snub races Now it was
(09:24):
released earlier this year, Cowboy Carter, I mean it topped
the charts. It was praised for blending country with elements
of Beyonce's signature style and for shining a spotlight on
the genre in a way that captivated both the country
and the pop music audiences. I mean, everybody's you know,
we're not Texas, but we're dancing that song.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
So.
Speaker 3 (09:48):
Some fans also pointed out that Beyonce has previously faced resistance.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
From the country music community.
Speaker 3 (09:53):
Now I remember, back in twenty sixteen, she did a
performance of Daddy Lessons on the CMA Awards and it
was met with backlash. Now, while come while Cowboy Carter
continues to receive critical and commercial acclaim, the CMA Awards
decision to ignore Beyonce's contributions to country music has sparked
(10:13):
a larger conversation about race and inclusivity in the genre.
Now look, I work at Ebony. This is something we
discussed quite a bit. A lot of more artists of
color are getting into country, and if you think about it,
black people have been in the South, They've been in Texas,
so it makes sense that this would be a part
(10:35):
of our heritage. And so it's not something It's not
music that I've listened to, but knowing that more people
of color are participating in writing songs and maybe telling
a story from their point of view makes me say, hey,
maybe this is something I do want to listen to.
So it's interesting that there's so much pushback. We have
all sorts of artists and hip hop, we have all
(10:57):
sorts of artists and pop. You know, we have artists
who are not of color who rap, So why can't
people of color be in country?
Speaker 2 (11:05):
What do you think, Rob, I'm so outraged by it. It
feels like a conscious snub. This album was one of
the biggest country albums of the year. Was that the
number one for over ten weeks on the country chart.
Beyonce even talked about her past experiences in the country
world not being welcome, and that's why she wanted to
come back with this country album. I just can't believe
(11:25):
that it didn't get a single nomination. There is no
way that an album this big by any other artist
would just be ignored. She might not win Album of
the Year or Single of the Year, but no nominations
at all. We have to sit back now and say
what's going on? Because not only was it a success,
it was a critical success. And the grammar is if
(11:46):
you sell a lot of albums, it helps, but that
isn't really why they vote for you. It's not about popularity,
It's about excellence. This album's excellent. Dolly Parton's on it,
Mighty Cyrus is on it. The legends of country music
I have said, this album is remarkable. It's one of
my favorite Beyonce albums ever. Her craft, her songwriting, her ability,
(12:08):
it just can't be questioned. And so what is going on? Well,
let me tell you ABC has a problem on their
hands because ABC they televise this award show and the
fact that Beyonce isn't there has really rubbed ABC the
wrong way. Now because ABC is an inclusive network and
who wants to mess with Beyonce. Well, Beyonce now boycott ABC.
(12:31):
I don't think she will. I don't think she's gonna
say anything. If they change their minds, could she go
and present? I doubt she's going to turn up now.
But this to me confirms everything Beyonce said, which I
always always believed. Mister, I did believe it, but I
didn't see it. Now I'm seeing it. I don't like it.
Speaker 1 (12:51):
Yeah, And I think what ABC will try to do.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
Having a little background in television, is there of course
going to ask Beyonce, can you open the show?
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Oh? Can you? Can you be a part of it?
Speaker 3 (13:01):
Because they know people would tune in to see Beyonce,
But without her having any nominations, it's very easy for
her to say.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
I'm going to pass on this one.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Obviously they didn't want me there, and I think she
has a fair right or or if she wants to
shock the world, she can go there and perform and
it'll be yes.
Speaker 2 (13:24):
Yes, yes, yes, yes, Okay quickly before we get a break.
Selena Gomez is on the cover of Vanity Affair with
a really intimate tell all interview talking about her fertility struggles.
She said I can't carry my own children due to
health concerns. So the thirty two year old has revealed
that due to her medical issues, she's not able to
carry her own children. She opened up and said the
(13:44):
following quote, I unfortunately have a lot of medical issues
that would put my life and my baby's life in jeopardy.
That is something I had to grieve for a while.
If you remember, the star was diagnon with lupus in
twenty thirteen, that's a chronic autoimmune disease. She underwent a
(14:08):
life saving kidney transplant in twenty and seventeen, and she
said now that this is not what she envisioned, and
she thought about this a great deal and had to
come to peace with it. But she did conclude that
she's hopeful and optimistic about motherhood, expressing her gratitude for
alternative paths, including surrogacy and adoption, and she ended by
(14:33):
saying she's so positive that she's actually excited what the
journey will look like.
Speaker 3 (14:38):
I love that Selena Gomez is sharing the story with us,
especially nowadays, because I think there are a lot of
discussions of what is motherhood and the fact that she's
saying that she can adopt that she can be a surrogate.
I mean she could be a great auntie. These are
all forms of being a maternal figure for someone, and
(14:59):
I think we need to hear that today because some
people are questioning what defines motherhood and I'm glad that
she's saying that it can be done in many, many ways.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
Team Selena a beautiful, beautiful interview and a really brave
and honest one.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Two.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Okay, We're going to take a quick break and we
will be right back. Welcome back to the Naughty but
Nice Show and your host job shoot with our dear
friend mister. Hey, mister, let's get to the polls done so.
Last year we talked about Jayla and Matt Damon sharing
a long and deep conversation. They were even holding hands
amid her divorce. A question Morris, can Matt remain friends
(15:38):
with Ben's X? Can you remain friends with your ex?
Speaker 1 (15:44):
Is tricky?
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Let's have a look. Sixty percent said yes, forty said no.
I want to believe the sixty here, but it is difficult.
Like Matt's priority is always going to be Ben. Jennifergets that,
but you don't have to be war I guess what
do you think, misterie, can you can you remain friends
with your BFFs X.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Okay, I gotta wrap my head around this one. So
I think if you have a good relationship with your ax,
you can still be friends with their friends. But even
when you fall out with a friend and it's just
like a girlfriend and they've brought a friend that you
get to know, it's always really tricky to stay friends
with that other person.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
So I wish you're the best.
Speaker 3 (16:30):
So I'm hoping that j Loo and Ben can come
to some kind of like, yeah, our relationship didn't work out,
but we're you know, we're still friends.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
We're still friendly. I think that's a ways off.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
But if that works out, then yeah, why not stay
friends with Matt. Look, they're celebrities. They're gonna run in
the same circles. You gotta keep it. You got to
keep it friendly, You got to keep it.
Speaker 1 (16:50):
You know, you gotta keep it.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
You're so nicely still, you always take the high road,
even at five am in the morning. Don't forget to
vote on today's Twitter page at Nulty Nice rab or
Facebook page Multy Gossip. Be sure to check back tomorrow
to here at your results and Now it's time for
nst of the Day.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Well, our nicest of the day is Megan Markle because
she made a surprise appearance over the weekend at the
grand opening of Godmother's Bookstore in Summerland, California. Now the
Duchess of Sussex joined Oprah Winfrey, one of her first dies,
at the event, and there she was seen chatting with
(17:28):
fellow authors and warmly greeting Oprah as we would all do.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Warmly greet Oprah us.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
Show up to celebrate your friends, even when you're not invited,
or even when it's not your event. Mister, when you
host panels, I pop up and sit in the audience too.
I host events. I don't expect to see your beautiful
face out there looking back, but you're always in the audience.
Show up for your friends, even if your friend is
someone like Oprah. We all need a friendly face in
the crowd. Let's do and naughte the day. Naughty James
(17:58):
Earl Jones has died at ninety three years old. What
a legend, So no one for his unforgettable roles, including
the voice of Dark Vader in Star Wars and the
Fossa in The Lion King He died Monday at his
home in Upstate New York, surrounded by his family. He
(18:19):
is the rare winner of an egot that is a Emmy.
He got two of those, a Grammy, an Honorary Oscar,
and three Tony Awards. I had met him a few times, Misty.
He was graceful, he was a gentleman.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
He was kind.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
Now.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
I know we're all gonna die. This is not something
that's just going to happen to James Ul's Jones, but
it's still so shocking when somebody who was that interweaved
in our lives has passed away. Rest in peace, you legend. Okay,
let's end with a moment of we're gonna rub. Listen
to this very carefully. You have the right to say no.
(19:00):
No is a complete sentence. I think most of us
have a very weak no muscle. It's a muscle, and
we feel guilty when we say no because the muscle
aches because we don't use it enough. Start practicing to
say no. If you want to run a marathon, you
start every day with a few steps. Start now practicing
(19:22):
to say no. We're all told all the time we
have to say yes. We have to be positive come
from a place of yes, that's not true. If it's
not right for you, say no. I know you struggle
with this mystery.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
I have in the past.
Speaker 3 (19:36):
I've definitely gotten better at saying no because I realize
when you get a little older in life, you have
to prioritize your time. As you mentioned with James Earl Jones,
We're not gonna be here.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
Forever and so you have to choose.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
But you know something I will never say no to
the nazis the Rob Shooter Show because this is the
place to be.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
So this is where you say, yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
You're here today. Proven that, mister. That is it for today.
Thank you so much for listening. They're notdy be nice
with Rob and Miss D will say that twice the day.
Miss D, thank you a production of iHeartRadio. Don't forget
to subscribe on the iHeartRadio ap Apple podcast. Wherever you listen,
leave us a review if you can. They really do
help and remember altogether.
Speaker 3 (20:17):
Now, if you're going to be naughty, nice.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Nice, take care of one piplip mist go back to bed.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
I will nice Rob
