Speaker 1 (00:08):
Advice Shot. Welcome to the Naughty but Night Show. It
is Monday in a snowy, snowy New York City. Garrett
my friend, are you there, Rob Shooter? I am, I
am here. I lost my voice. I My shovel is ready,
it's it's right by the door. So I'm I'm ready

(00:29):
to go. As soon as we're done with this podcast,
I'm going to shovel myself out of a very like
five feet of snow in New Jersey. So how's it
going in New York right now? Just a beautiful dusting
at the moment. It's probably an inch on the ground
here Dann in Chelsea in the city, and it's beautiful.
Nobody's out yet, so it's very early in the morning,
six am, and so nobody's gone out yet and ruined it.

(00:51):
So it all looks like, yeah, that yellow snow, that
yellow snow. I fear me and Darby, my doggie, are
going to be the first to do it. I'm not
me Derby, but we're going to go out in a
moment for a quick walk. And I don't want to
ruin it. I don't want to ruin the snow. I'm
gonna have a really lovely day. I'm determined. There's sometimes
snow can be a real hassle and it gets in

(01:13):
the way angry all the time. You're like that, you've
got to shovel it too odd at a house. I'm
in an apartment here where somebody does the shoveling thankfully.
But I'm gonna I'm gonna enjoy it. I'm gonna definitely
enjoy it, and then I can be a grumpy grump
tomorrow about the snow talking about the time. Do you
know what time it is? Snowy tea time or snowy

(01:33):
a milky tea time? Extra monks today, look at that
big exclusive at the top of the show. Some Megan
Marco has changed the name on her son's birth certificates.
Let me explain so. Originally, when the little baby was born,
the birth certificate had the following name on Rachel Megan,
her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Sussex. That's quite a name.

(01:57):
Miggan Markle's name is not Megan. It's actually ray Eachel.
People were surprised by this when they first so was
Megan like a Hollywood name? Yes it is, well, it's
her full name is Rachel Megan Markle. And then when
she became an actress, when she went to Hollywood, when
she wanted to get into show business, she dropped Rachel.
Megan Marco does have a good ring to it. The
two ms they sort of rhyme together. They roll off

(02:20):
your tongue, so to speak. So she dropped the name Rachel. However,
when she did get married to Harry, remember that beautiful
service in St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, she was
married as Rachel Megan Marcles. So she does use the
name Rachel the church. Harry calls a Rachel. You can't
lie to the church. No, you gotta know. That's one

(02:40):
person you can't. I don't know. I think I think
he I think he has to call her Megan. You know,
it's just you gotta you gotta stick to protocol in
the sense like if one person calls your Rachel and
another call Megan, it will be confusing, especially for a
child too. You know you think young kids, Well, I mean,
I guess kids call it call your mom, so really
not that confusing, but I guess everybody else it would

(03:02):
be confusing. It's a little lot of it. When I
used to work for didd He. I didn't know whether
to call him p didd He, Puffy your majesty, and
you know, I know I couldn't bring myself to I
also worked for Jennifer Lopez. I just couldn't say j
Loo and it sounded ridiculous. Yeah, you're you're a grown
man going and you know she she has a full

(03:23):
team Rob Shot that still calls her j Loo l
It's just another one of my clients in my PR
days is Trudy Styler, who's married to Stink Sting is
not his name? I mean, what do you think you
call him Sting? No, but are you going to be
the only person in the entire universe to to call
him by his real name and not Sting? Like Sting,

(03:46):
I guess it's is your real name? Yes, that's given
the full next the one Garrett Joseph Vogel Uh. And
that's the interesting thing though, So when I meet people
for the first time, Rob Shooter, it's so so you're
on the radio, Garrett your real name, and I go, yes,
it's it's all my birth certificate. Like I guess, I'm
an odd man, odd person out at the end of

(04:08):
the day, where where I have a real name on
the radio, and people are like, how dare you do
you have a nickname Garrett? To do your friends have
a nickname for you? No? You know, it's funny, like
my name is one of those things where just people.
This is how I know you listen to me. If
I say my name for the first time and then

(04:28):
later on you call me Gary, it just shows that
you didn't. You don't listen, So I get called Gary
a lot, so I guess it's a nickname by default.
But Gary is not short for Garrett at all. This
is there anything short for Garrett? I really don't think
there is. You know, people might argue it and say it,
but at the end of the day, No, how about you,

(04:48):
Rob Shooter, your real name Robert James Shooter, very very
very official. You always call me Rob shoot it. You
always give me my full name, which always makes me smile.
Why is that you know what it is? And this
is like pulling the curtain back a little bit too.
So if you're you're a first time listener of this podcast,
and again, thank you for listening. You want people to

(05:10):
become familiar with you and and and get to know you.
So it's almost like riding a bicycle. You do it
so often and then eventually you ride the bicycle. And
you know it's so if you're a first time or
to this podcast and you're hearing this, this guy with
a British accent and speaking so well, and but what's
his name? You know what I mean? So I think
it's more about recognition than anything else. Oh you're brandon

(05:33):
me and you also called me a bicycle I have everybody.
Everybody goes for a ride. Names are confusing, they are confusing.
Up they said, now the name on the birth certificate
has been changed to Her Royal Highness, Duchess of Sussex.
They've taken off her name as if she doesn't exist,
as if she's just a royal Well. This is even

(05:53):
more confusing because the couple agreed to give up their
hr H Royal Highness His and Highness titles. They still
have them. They didn't get them pulled off them by
the Queen like she did with Princess Diana. Diana lost
her hr H. They've still got theirs, but they said
they wouldn't use them any more. This is also confused,

(06:15):
and nobody can really figure out what is going on.
So I looked up birth certificates for Williams and Kate's
children just to compare. That's the closest we have. Guess
what's on there? What's there? Katherine Elizabeth, her Royal Highness,
the Duchess of Cambridge. So Kate, Who's not Kate, it's Katherine.
These people, none of them are who they are. They've

(06:37):
all got dif. My sister Betty was christened better, but
she tells everybody her name is Elizabeth because she thinks
it sounds more fancy. Some law and order in these names.
Like we can't just be calling whatever we want, Like
this is where the world gets so confused, do you
know what I mean? Like we just if you're given
a name, or if you want to choose your name,

(06:59):
just dick with it, and you can't go back and forth.
Just let's let's go forward. The world would be so
confused if with all this, I just I'll get caught
up on this whole story again when when it comes
out on the crown, you know, like, yes, that's right.
Everyone keeps changing their names. My friends. I've never told
anybody this before, so only a few friends call me this.
Yer Bets is one of my best friends and he

(07:21):
was the best man at my wedding and he lives
in London. We went to school together in Edinburgh. Jerk
calls me Janet. I know, I don't know what that's
what some of my friends called me Janet, and I
guess it's one of those things like that. He called
you Janet like like one or two times early and
he just stuck with it. It does cost me Janet.
When I worked for Jessica Simpsons, you know what we

(07:41):
called her. She had a code with them. So we
got out together at a restaurant or well, you know,
we're out, and she didn't really want people to scream
Jessica or she didn't want to be recognized. We called
her angela angel. She doesn't look like an angela, you know,
she doesn't look like it. But she liked the name managerer.
When she checked into a hotel. I hope she still
doesn't you is this name or all getting big trouble?

(08:01):
She didn't check in, unto Jessica Simpsons. So if you
phone a hotel, if if Jessica is doing a concert
in a small town, there's probably one nice hotel in
the town, and really fancy one that's where she's going
to stay. So when the fans call up and they
say to the front desk and I speak to Jessica Simpson,
you'd all get through. So a lot of celebrities change
their names when they book into hotels, and Jessica called

(08:22):
herself bridge Bridget I know, so you would have to
phone the hotel and said, hello, can I speak to
Bridget Bridget Jones please? It was Bridget Bardot, I know,
which was even more impressive than Jessica Simpson. The people
in the hotel thought the head Bridget Bardo. Barry Manilow
has a fake name too. I've traveled with Barrett. I
can't give his name out. He'll go ment, I actually
know it is actually j Shooter. I car'd I thought

(08:46):
you were going to say the name. He would go,
I don't know what. I don't know it. I don't
know it. It was so weird the first time I
had to call Bruce at Barry's hotel, and Bruce was
in Barry's room. But you can't call a hotel and
say put me through to Barry manner Lovely because they, yeah,
they hang up on you. And I had to remember
the name too. That to write it. Dad. It's like
a password on your computer, you know what It's like.

(09:08):
It's like those old time movies where you show up
at the door of a like a club or underground something,
and you knock on the door and the guy shows
his eyes and like, what's the past work? Yes, Lola
sent me Lola from the Abata. Okay, this brings us
to my whole question to day. I'm not sure if
we gave you any information that the hell Mega Marcole
has changed her name on her son's birth certificate. Now

(09:28):
it is just a Royal Highness Duchess of Sussex. Do
you think she wants back in the family? Go vote
on Twitter page out and naughty nyer on but at
Facebook pages laught Gosam. Be sure to check back tomorrow
to hear your results. Garrett Love, what are you so?
Rob Shooter? Were just talking about Jessica Simpson and we
actually were talking about this over the weekend. So if

(09:49):
you're not familiar with the story, someone has claimed that
Subway is actually not using uh you know, to like
real fish and tuna and all processed and fake and
so Jessica Simpson decided to weigh in and uh, you
know Chicken of the Sea, remember that she was very
famous of that during her newlywed reality show days. It

(10:12):
put it kind of it put her on the map
as a personality and not just a singer, you know
what I mean. So a lot of people thought thought that.
Um so Jessica commented on the Subway tuna lawsuit and
she said, it's okay, Subway, it is confusing. So so,
I mean that was that was almost seventeen years ago,
and people still reference that that saying, you know, imagine

(10:35):
if it was in you know, Twitter, was around seventeen
years ago, like like that would be one of the
most iconic tweets today. Uh, you know, but Subway does
say it really is tuna. Uh and uh, you know
that's what they have to stick to because there are
lawsuits going on, and so, you know, you don't be

(10:57):
interesting if this goes to like like some type of
high court and Jessica Simpson gets called to the stand
witness witness Jessicafy Sandwich to testify on subways. But it
was really you know, it kind of put a smile
on my face. And I sent you the screenshot too,
I did. That's how that's how we're doing it today.
I love this story. She's in on the joke. I
asked Jessica about this this very moment, not not the

(11:20):
subway moment, but her moment on The Newlyweds, And I
said to her, were you in on the joke on
that show? Did you know what you were doing? Was
its stage? Was it scripted? And Jessica did tell me,
with a wink and a and a really big, big grin,
that she was no fool. Like Jessica played the blonde,
may I say not smartest person in the world on

(11:40):
that show, don't be fooled. Jessica's charm is that she's
in on the jokes. She can laugh at herself. Of
all the clients I've ever had, I gotta say she's
up there in my top five of just favorite human beings.
She's not only talented. Everything you see about Jessica, it
might be a heightened version, it might be exaggerated a
little bit. She really is a good person and she

(12:02):
knows exactly what she's were you her publicist before she
made a billion dollars in shoes. I was in the
beginning of that, and I wish I'd got a percentage
of it. Jessica just started her shoe collection when I
was with her. It was after Nick. She hired me
when she was breaking up with Nick. So I remember
her calling me. I was working for Ashley Simpson's sister,

(12:22):
and I said, a photo shoot with Ashley. And it
was tricky because Ashley was always in Jessica's shadow, and
so I was just Ashley's publicist, and I think, for
the first time ever actually really enjoyed having her own team.
Everyone in Ashley's life felt like they were leftover from
Jessica's or It's like the hand me dank clothes as
a child, being the second sister. I mean she got, yeah,

(12:42):
she got like Jessica's hair person, Jessica's makeup person, Jessica's manager,
Jessica's publicist. It was all team Jessica, who sort of
did Ashley on the side. I was the first one
that actually was Ashley Simpson's person, and Jessica went and
stole me. I know, she called me and she said
she's a out to break up with Nick. It's going
to come really soon. And when that happened, she wants

(13:04):
a new publicist to get her through that. And that's
how I started with her, and then shortly afterwards, I
remember going to a meeting here in New York City
on Sixth Avenue for a shoe company, and I thought
it was a brilliant idea, and so did she. The
dad wasn't involved. It was her mom, Tina, who was
a better business person than her dad, and I knew
it was going to take off. And then I went
with her two to shoe convention in Vegas. It's just

(13:27):
this big, big ballroom. It's it's like it's almost like
an arena. It's just like a wedding, but it's booths
of shoes and shoes and shoes, and the Jessica Simpson
booth had the longest line of anybody. These were not fans,
these were buyers from Maces and Bloomingdale's. And I remember
being backstage at the booth and Nick's video had just

(13:48):
come out with his now wife Vanessa in it, and
Jessica was really upset and said we were backstage and
I think she was crying, and then she had to
go out and charm all these buyers, everybody I know,
So we were all like being Clarence backstage to try
and cheer her up. And then the minute she got
outside in front of those buyers, brilliant, she just became
just America's next Top Model. Is in trouble again. This

(14:10):
show does not age very well, does it. So another
star on which is ironic, gosh, that's it's absolutely true.
Another lady on the show is coming forward accusing Tyra
Banks of using using her childhood bad things that happened
to her childhood traumas to exploit her and make a
profit from them. The show really did dig deep into

(14:31):
people's backstories, and often these stories were not not good stories.
Tyra was not as sympathetic as I think she would
be today. Tyra's acknowledged that there's stuff on that show
that doesn't make her proud. And on top of that,
it's all about beauty, which really, you know, isn't all
we are. It's certainly isn't all we are. And so
I think this show maybe is this show going to

(14:54):
haunt Tyra. It made her into a star. She wouldn't
be on Dancing with the Stars now if it wasn't
for Top But when you watch it, Greta is a
little long. Yeah, no, it's it doesn't seem like when
Top Model first came around. It feels different. What what
is different? I don't know. Maybe it's the that we've
done this for so long people people are gonna watch

(15:15):
if they're gonna watch, and like they don't they're not
looking to bring in new people, or they're just like
you know, or maybe they're so tone deaf in the
sense of where the shows at right now that they
don't even see it themselves. You know, that's a whole
another story. It didn't didn't well quickly before we get
a break, what's going on with Clark? All right? So
we know that her and Dale Moss they they split up,

(15:36):
and we heard a lot from Dale, no surprise there.
But Claire just recently opened up Instagram live saying she's
been struggling and you know, with anxiety and and dealing
with the amount of people trying to come at her
and trying to you know, get in and what she's feeling.
And she decided to speak up because she was getting
a lot of messages that a lot of people were
going through what she was going through. And you know,

(15:58):
as a platform of a ute n quote celebrity, however
you want to look at her, she's actually doing something
positive in the sense of speaking about it, So so
those that are going through it know that they're not
the only ones going through what she's going through as well.
Uh and you know she thanked everyone she just and
which I could only imagine. She said, if I showed
you the messages that I would received, you guys would

(16:20):
be disgusted. Uh. So you know it's it's it's super weird.
I think you and I Rob Shooter will never know
what people like that go through. And we might have
an idea, but never really a full understanding of what celebrities,
reality show stars go through on a daily basis from
people that have no idea who they are as a person,

(16:40):
but only see them through the television or on Instagram.
And uh, it's just super interesting. I'm team Claire, Team Claire.
I you know, I'm I dislike Dale. I just I
just hope we don't go back to you know, Okay,
well let's throw her back on the Bachelorette. I don't
think I'm scared she's back on social media. Claire go

(17:01):
away disappear. She's not allowed to do mainstream media because
of her contract with ABC. I'm told now they might
even change the contract to stop future people doing social media.
They don't want your talking. Cleaiar, Hey, we want to talk.
So we're going to take a quick break, but we
will be all right back. Welcome back to the naughty

(17:22):
but Nice share with Rob and Garrett. Hey, Garrett, let's
get to the pole. Kim Kardashian felt pressured to leave
Kanye West in the very last episode of Keeping Up
with the Kardashians. Should she do it, it would be
epic TV Wow said yes, it should be the final episode.
I'm with you. I want them to go out with
a bang. I wanted to be dramatic. I want this

(17:44):
to end after what is it, twenty season something like that.
I wanted to end in a big way. So I'm
with the majority. Where are you Garrett? Yes? Now, I
think there should be a big cliffhanger, do know what
I mean? Almost like the Sopranos. We don't know what
happened to Tony Surper, I know, and you know, sitting
down at the diner, like the same thing. She should
be in a diner and Kanye should type in his

(18:07):
hand and Kim gets up to go to the bathroom,
and then it just fades the black. That is so outrageous.
Gets a votes on today's Paul go to a Twitter
page and naughty nice Rold, but facebook page is naughty
god Limb. I'm be sure to check back tomorrow for
your results. And now it's time for the nicest of
the dagon all right. Well, aside from Kelly Clarkson, one

(18:28):
of my favorites out there, one that that I wish
is my best friend Justin Timberlake celebrated a big milestone
birthday yesterday and he turned forty years old. Wow, just so,
how do you celebrate a birthday in a pandemic? For instance?
For me, my three year old turned three yesterday and
I have a bazilion balloon to my house. As you

(18:48):
can see on our zoom right now. Are my daughter Madison,
I'm Madison. Happy birthday? Yes so. Jessica Bielle decided to
celebrate her husband's fourth birthday, made a stack of pan cakes.
They look delicious, by the way, if you checked out
on Instagram, and uh, you know, wished her husband a
very happy birthday. And they've been hanging The couple has

(19:09):
been hanging out. They have a new baby. Uh you know,
I think they're in Montana. By the way, we have
to look into why Montana is like the celebrity hotspot.
Maybe it's because it's spread out. Not a lot of
people are there, but a lot of people are in
Montana so beautiful, and you get a big bang for
your book. A million dollars goes along, but it goes along.
And here's what you wrote real quick. There's no one

(19:29):
I have more fun with, have more laughs with, feel
deeply for, and have more history with. Is what Jessica
Bill wrote about Justin and I honor you today, Comma Baby,
Happy Birthday and now and naughtiest to the day, naughty, noughty, naughty.
But I love this even though it is. It's cute.
Mila Cutness and Ashton Custer are going to be in

(19:50):
a new Super Bowl ad and she said they only
did it to get away from there. So they've been
stuck with their children and for whate months, she said,
and she wants you to have a day off with
two days away from the baby. So they said yes
to this commercial. And she said that when she snook
at the house, she felt so great she was literally
skipping out of the house to go to work at five.

(20:11):
YouTube make me laugh. You're the naughtiest of the day
and now, Guarantee's time for a moment. Rob. The most
important relationship you're going to have in your entire life
is with you, so cherish it and be kind to it.
Guarant Do you cherish the relationship you have with yourself? Yes,
you know, you just gotta add some water from time

(20:33):
to time and watch it grow and and and give
it some sunlight. You got to treat it like a
plant or a pet. Treat it like a plant. Do
you like yourself? Guarant Yes, yes, no, And I I
don't understand, like maybe it's one of those things that
you know, I understand people that say that they don't
like themselves, but you know, that's a deeper thing. But
for me, I've never been like that. And I understand

(20:54):
people do struggle like that, But for me, I just
can't see myself going I hate myself, you know, unless
like I, you know, forget the milk at the store,
you know, when I get home, of course I hate myself.
Very lucky. We're both, I think, naturally, without much effort,
really optimistic, happy people, and I know that's a blessing
in life. And it's easy to advise other people to

(21:16):
be happy and happy yeah, but I do. There are times.
There are times when I when I feel a little blue,
and I do have to think about myself and life.
And I always try to be happy but always but
something you say all the time, you find the positive,
you find, you find even in the worst situations possible.

(21:38):
There is a silver lining somewhere. You just have to
work for it. That's right, and the silver lining today,
Garrett is we get to be with you. We love
having you on a me and my good self get
to be with you. So thank you so much for
