Speaker 1 (00:09):
Vice for sure. It's nice. Hello no no, no, no, no, Hello.
Welcome to the Naughty but Nice. I'm your host, rop Shooter.
It is Thursday. Mark was ready to do the show
this morning, but we had a few technical issues. So
don't worry, naughties. It's just as but we've got a
great show. What time is it, my friends? It is
tea time. Big story at the top of the show,
Michelle Obama is shutting down divorce rumors, saying, quote, I'm
(00:32):
a grown woman making choices for myself. So amid growing
speculation about her marriage to the former President Barack Obama,
the former first Lady is addressing the unfounded divorce rumors.
So these rumors have been going around now for a
couple of months. I told you back then that my
sources were saying, no, they are not getting a divorced.
(00:55):
They just have different interests. She said the following I
think it's so interesting they couldn't even fathom that I
was making a choice for myself and that they had
to assume that my husband and I were getting the divorce.
So what she's talking about here is all the headlines,
all the big events that she did not want to
go to she doesn't like politics. She's made it very
(01:16):
clear what she thinks about the current president. She wants
no part of this. I think there's an expectation in
American politics that you hand the bat on, although that
wasn't done to mister Biden by the former administration. So
she's saying no, I just don't want to do it anymore.
And for eight years we were so used to seeing
them together when he was the president. She turned up
(01:38):
at so many different events, stuff that she didn't really
want to do. She's very, very, very much not interested
in the political world. She thinks it's really really nasty.
It is, And so she said, now that my husband
is no longer in office, I'm not doing this. And
when you see Barak by himself making solo appearances, that
(01:59):
is not a red flag, but it's rather a conscious
decision on her behalf for her own wellbeing. She said, quote,
I'm a grown woman just making a set of decisions
for myself, and if it does not fit the stereotype,
it's going to get labeled as something negative. So the
message is really clear here. Michelle Obama does not owe
(02:22):
anybody in explanation for living the life she wants on
her own terms, and she is doing that. This is
such a big topic. What do you think about your
partner being involved in your work life, in your everyday life.
Bruce and I have an amazing relationship because we are
not constantly together. We have our own lives, we have
(02:44):
our own jobs, we make our own money. I don't
want to work for Bruce's company. It would have been
really easy for me to become an employee of Bruce's
big company. I could call myself a manager, Bruce's manager,
and do really very very little except collector paycheck. So
I have no interest in doing that at all. So
I forged my own career and then on a personal
(03:06):
level too. We have different interests. Bruce is not really
interested in going shoe shopping, noticing not into clothes. I
love doing that, so I have my friends that I
do that with. We love the theater together, we love
going to restaurants together. Movies. He likes sort of smart movies,
where I love a Mission impossible. I love a dumb blockbuster.
I love us I'm a blockbuster. Not for Bruce, So
(03:28):
I don't make him go, and I think that's the
key to success here. Don't force your friends your partners,
your family into doing stuff they just don't want to do.
Accept their interests and hopefully they accept yours too. And
Michelle not interested in politics, not interested in turning up
at inaugurations, not going to do it. She did it before,
(03:49):
not gonna do it now. She is a grown ass
person and she's gonna make her own decisions. But this
does not mean that they are getting a divorce. It's
so clear to me. When we look at people's relationships
from the outside, we often don't understand what's really going
(04:10):
on within them. We sort of put our own feelings
onto them. And oh my goodness, if my husband my
wife did not show up to that, I'd be really
upset with him. And that's a red flag, and it's
a sign of divorce. No, it's not, it's just design.
They didn't want to go. They didn't want to go.
These two, I'm told, are a solid couple with different interests,
(04:30):
and now that his political career, at least an elective government,
is over, they're figuring out the next chapters of their
lives together and separately, she's doing a podcast with her
brother and told she's working on a new book. But
also together they've got some development deals here. I think
he won an Oscar for something, or they want an Oscar,
and so lots and lots of stuff they plan to
(04:51):
do together, but also too, I think, really rather refreshingly
lots of stuff. They are doing a punt, which brings
us to our question of the day. Michelle Obama is
shutting down divorce rumors. Do you think this couple will last?
What do you think? Do you believe her? Do you
think they will last? Go vote on a Twitter page
at Naughty nine Rob or a Facebook page which is
(05:12):
Naughty Gossip and Misure to check back tomorrow to hear
your results. Okay, this story is explosive, it is everywhere.
Just In Baldoni does not want Harvey Weinstein's support in
his two hundred and fifty million dollar lawsuit against The
New York Times and Blake Lively. So Harvey ana nowhere
has tried to hitch his legacy to Justin Belldone, and
(05:33):
Justin wants nothing to do with it. So from his
California prison cell, let me say that again. Halves in jail,
where he's serving a sixteen year sentence for rape and assault,
Harvey released a jaw dropping statement claiming that he quote
emphasizes with Justin Belldoni in his legal battle against The
(05:57):
New York Times and former co star Blake Lively, the
convicted predator whose twenty twenty New York rape conviction was
overturned in twenty twenty four and now away it's a retrial,
claims that The New York Times manipulated evidence in both
cases his and Justin's to serve a sensationalized narrative. But
(06:19):
insiders close to Justin are slamming this unsolicited support. Sources
tell me quote Justin is appalled by Harvey Weinstein's comments.
He doesn't want this support, as this ever happened to you,
and somebody comes forward supports you, and you're like, oh no, no, no,
I don't want to be associated with you. It's like
(06:39):
Diddial Cosby and Weinstein. These are people. It's just not helping,
and it shows you harvest narcissism that he thinks from jail.
From jail, he should issue a statement about Blake Lively
and Justin bell Downey saying whose side is on, whose
side is on doesn't matter, the fact is saying it
(06:59):
that's what matters. Who cares what you think Harvey, You're disgraced.
Sit down, sir, Shut up, sir. You're not helping Justin.
You're not helping yourself. This happens with politicians too, doesn't it,
When really horrible people come forward to endorse you and
you're like, oh, no, no, no, I don't want that endorsement.
No no, no, no, no, no, no no no. This
(07:20):
can also happen with friends, with colleagues, with people in
the same business as you be careful who you associate with. Now,
let's be clear, Justin has nothing to do with Harvey Weinstein,
But Harvey Weinstein always seems to want something to do
with whoever is in the headlines. Okay, moving along. Another
celebrity who is making headlines is Megan Markle for warning
(07:43):
that the US is heading to recession and mid all
the new tariffs, which I think have been put on
hold last night, and she says that her honey is
going to still bring joy into the world. So Meg
and Markle, of all people, is sounding the alarm on
America's economic future, saying that during any time of recession,
(08:04):
people want to find creature, comforts, items that bring them joy.
And she's holding up a glass jar of her honey
as this it is twenty eight dollars, and she said
this was built for uncertain times. She went on to
add that that was part of the vision from the start. Quote,
we wanted products that looked prestigious but were reasonably priced,
(08:27):
accessibly priced, Megan, when people are really struggling with bread
and eggs and necessities and milk, honey twenty eight dollars
a jar. You can get it for four dollars in
my grocery store. This is a luxury. It's a couple
of things going on here. One people do not want,
people don't want Mega Markel's advice on the economy. She
(08:49):
does not work for CNBC. This is something that people
just do not want. And it's too early. Your brand's
not a success yet. If she had launch developed a
billion dollar brand like Beyonce, like Gwyneth, like Oprah, like
Jessica Simpson, then yes, you do have some legitimacy talking
to these really fancy business magazines. But you've just started.
(09:10):
It's too early to be doing business profiles on a
business that doesn't exist, and you look so out of
touch saying that the twenty eight dollar jar of honey,
honey is accessible that's really expensive. When I'm in the
grocery store, My goodness, if I put something in my
car for twenty eight dollars, I know that's really expensive.
(09:32):
So I think Meghan here needs to be a little
bit careful. She's getting a little ahead of her skis.
Take it back and not work on the business. You
could make this into a huge success. It could be
a massive Goop like company. Remember when we all laughed
at Gwyneth when she launched Goop, Well, joke on us.
She made a billion dollars. It's a huge company. I
(09:54):
would suggest Meghan, don't do these big profiles. Don't talk
to business outlets until you can tell a business story,
and that is not now okay, moving along. Justin Bieber
unloaded on the paparazzi ahead of Coachella, saying you're all
money grubbing a holes. So the thirty year old star
exploded on a group of paparazzi that spotted him running
(10:17):
for some coffee in Palm Springs this weekend. He went
absolutely crazy, screaming at them, you are on money grubbing
a holes and you don't care about people. He said,
quote you care about profits. Really really angry, here. Now,
he's been very clear, very transparent about his struggles with
mental health, so we're going to give him a little
bit of grace here. But Justin has been doing this
(10:39):
a long time. He knows the photographers, the press often
tried to provoke a reaction. I'm not sure if that
happened here, but he gave it them. A photograph of
Justin buying a cup of coffee in Palm Springs not
worth a lot of money. Nobody really wants to see that.
But if he explodes suddenly, this footage, these photographs are everywhere,
so we played into their hands. Has this ever happened
(11:01):
to you? Has somebody deliberately tried to bait you, deliberately
tried to get under your skin. The best thing you
can do for yourself is to do nothing, to walk away.
They want to upset you, They want to make you explode.
In fact, when you get angry, they win. They win,
and you're angry, so it's a lose for you, it's
a win for them. Don't do it. I'm very good
(11:22):
at this now on social media, even in person. When
somebody keeps nudging me, it keeps trying to get on
my nerves, I walk away I do. I don't fight back. Ah,
I'm never going to change their mind about me and
b they win. If I don't show restraint, they win.
Another point that a friend of mine made here too
is Justin's worth about three hundred million dollars. These photographers
(11:43):
are not. They're living a very working class life. The
myth that photographers earn hundreds of thousands of dollars a
photograph is just not true. Most photographs of celebrities self
between like two hundred and three four hundred dollars, not
four hundred thousand, So they live very sort of regular lives.
Just In, you live in a mansion. When you talk
(12:04):
about money grubbing, you've made a lot of money. Do
you care about people or their profits? You're the one
with two hundred three hundred million dollars. You're the one
that's living in a mansion. It's really hard when super
rich people scream about other people making money. Has just
be given back to his fans, to healthcare, to the
(12:25):
society that he lives in. Has he started up a
music program to bring instruments to kids in schools? No,
he hasn't. It would be very easy to argue the
person worth all these millions. Is the one that cares
about profits, not the photographers who are driving cars that
probably are not as nice as his. Be careful here,
(12:47):
be careful, justin okay, quickly, before we get a break.
Candice Cameron Burke is breaking down on some of the
things she used to say to herself her body image struggle,
saying quote, I was so mean to myself. So Candace
is getting raw and real and emotional, and she opens
up about her long thought battle with body image that
(13:08):
started far earlier than most of us ever knew. She said, quote,
this stunned me, absolutely stopped me, because I've done this too.
I was so mean to myself. Ouch. I have very
vivid memories of being in the fifth and the sixth
grade and already feeling so bad about my body. Good
grief that stopped me in my tracks. I have said
(13:31):
stuff to myself, cruel, mean things to myself that I
wouldn't say to my worst enemy. I certainly wouldn't say
it to somebody I loved, So why am I saying
it to me? Candace is saying exactly the same thing
she did to herself. This wasn't somebody bullying her, This
was bullying herself, bullying yourself. We've got to stop that nasty,
(13:55):
ugly voice in all our heads telling us we're not
good enough, we're not thin enough, we're not small, not
beautiful enough, because it's a lie. It's a lie. It's
actually an echo. It's an echo of something somebody else
has told you, a lie that somebody else has told you,
and it's been echoing around your head ever since. Well,
let me tell you this. It wasn't true when they
(14:16):
said it. It's not true when you say it, So
stop saying it to yourself. My rule now is so clear. Rob.
If you wouldn't say this to someone you love, if
you wouldn't say this to Bruce, to Darby, to my
sister Christine, to my mom, my dad, why the hell
am I saying it to myself? Next time you have
(14:38):
a nasty thought about yourself, write it down, look at
it in a few hours, and be like, oh my goodness.
If anybody else had said that to me, I would
have cut them out of my life. They would no
longer be allowed in my head, they would no longer
be my friend. So if that's the case, why are
you allowing you to say it to yourself. Okay, we're
(15:00):
going to take a quick break and we will be
right back. Welcome back to the naughty an nice shirmia
handstrupture to hey, let's get to the polls DA DA
last show, we talked about Prince Harry back in the UK,
saying it's too dangerous for him to bring his kids
there without police protection. That question was quite simple, should
the taxpayer pay Let's have a look. Eighty percent said no.
(15:22):
This is really interesting. I think you all want Harry
to be safe. I know you all want Harry to
be safe. However, he did step away from the job.
The job was being a royal, and when you step
away from a job, you lose the perks. When I
stopped being a publicist, I lost a lot of perks,
but that wasn't my job anymore. Now Harry can can
hire the best protection in the world in London. When
(15:44):
Taylor Swift, when Madonna goes to London, they'd hire private security,
or they bring their security from the USA. When a
president visits, the Secret Service goes with him. Now Harry
can't hire the Secret Service. But then again, if he
can't hire the Secret Service, why should he be allowed
to hire the London please force. I think we get
into a very dangerous position when rich people traveling to
(16:07):
London can hire the London Police. That's not right. Therefore,
all of us, not just the people that are rich
enough to afford them, and so Harry Meghan, they've made
a lot of money. One hundred million dollar deal here
in America, higher security guards, higher private private security guards
like a tailor swift. Does we want you to be safe?
(16:29):
We do. We let's be very clear about that. But
at the same time, it's not fair my mom and
dad and people have to pay for you for something
you stepped away from. I get it. You can never
step away from the fame. You're going to have that forever.
But you're willing to use that fame to make money
selling podcasts, selling books, doing interviews with Oprah. I don't
(16:49):
know if they made any money from that, but Oprah
certainly did. It was watched by millions and millions of people.
If you're willing to make money doing that, then spend
all that harder money on being se okay oof. Let's
do a nicest of the day and nicest in the day,
said Sheeran, who's given really lovely details about his real
(17:10):
friendship with Taylor Swift, peeling back the curtain on one
of pop's most iconic friendships, saying, I don't see her
that much. I only see her maybe four times a year.
But when we do reconnect, it's not for Instagram. It's
hours of genuine, unplugged time. He said, we have a
proper sit down and we chat for six hours, and
(17:30):
he said he loves that. So it's not fame. This
is not about having photographs, Instagram pictures. This is about real, grounded,
fiercely protected friendships. And I think he's given a bit
of a deg here to Blake Lively because whenever we
see Blake with Taylor, we see Instagram, as we see photographs.
They're very very public. When EDI's with Taylor the opposite,
we never know about it. I'm told he doesn't meet
(17:53):
with her four or five times a year and we
never know about it. He's met with her not so
long ago, but we just don't know about it because
they don't have to put it on social media. This
friendship is for them, not for us, not the public.
I have a few friends who, oh, whenever I meet them,
they're so busy taking videos or photographs them, like, just
put your camera away, I can see you. I don't
care what I follow us seeing people that follow us online.
(18:16):
I care about just being in the moment with you.
That's what Ed has with Taylor Swift. Okay, now I
notice the dayteen naughty, naughty Lisa vander Pump is I
noticed of the day? So Lisa vander de Pump told
a member of her staff to stay with a very,
very troubled person. People are saying that she didn't really
do this to help the person that worked for her,
(18:37):
but rather to help herself. Lisa was really worried about
bad publicity about this really abusive relationship he allegedly through
this young person and Lisa, instead of saying run, get away,
protect yourself, she suggested that she go back. Oh Lisa
(18:57):
and naughtous of the day. Let's end with the murmur.
You a roub, you get a rob. Your doubts build
the mountains, your actions move them. So every time you
doubt yourself, you're stacking another rock on the mountain standing
between you and your dreams. But here's the good news.
You don't have to climb that mountain. You can just
(19:19):
move it. Not with more overthinking, and certainly not with
any more fear, but with action. Every small step you
take chips away at that doubt. Every time you show up,
you speak up, or you keep going when it is hard,
you are proving to yourself that you are capable. Your
doubts may build walls, but your courage tears them down. Hey,
(19:45):
