Speaker 1 (00:14):
Hello, Welcome to the Naughty but Nisha. I'm your host
from Shooter and it's Tuesday. So guess who is joining us?
Back fresh from London. I hope she saw the King
gets our dear friend deleting a Dixon. Hey, mistery, are
you there?
Speaker 2 (00:27):
I am, And what an amazing trip I had? Oh
my goodness. I went to Buckingham Palace. I saw the
changing of the guard that was increased.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
It's incredible. It's incredible. Yeah, they know how to do it.
The pomp and the circumstance. It has absolutely no function whatsoever.
I don't know why they're marching around. It's almost like
a Broadway show, like a kick line. But I love
every single second of it. We have together drinks later
this week, mistery, and you can tell me all about it.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
I will, I will.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Did you kiss any key British boys?
Speaker 2 (01:01):
No cute British boys? But I may have met someone Inachi,
you know.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
The city of Love.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Tell this, but we'll talk later and then you'll spill it.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
I'll tell I'll tell your secrets. Okay, let's jump into
the show. What time to see my friends? It is
tea time, So yesterday today we're all still talking about
Jeff Bezos's Blue Origin rocket that shot Gail King Katie
Perry up into space. Well, the person that's getting the
most reaction, it's not necessarily Katie or even Gail King,
(01:32):
it's Gail's bestie, Oprah, who was more terrified than Gail.
So Oprah turned up to see her best friend face
the final frontier. She was shaking, she was sobbing, she
was clutching onto Orlando Balloom's arm. For Dear Life sou
say that she was more scared than Gail. Gail does
(01:53):
not like flying, but Oprah was really really scared, and
she kept saying, this is bigger than space, this is
my best friend. It was deeply, deeply, deeply emotional. She
wore yellow, Oprah did because Gail is Sunshine. Isn't that lovely?
They've been friends for fifty years, fifty to fifty years.
(02:13):
So there's some gossip out there now that maybe Gail
is getting close with Lauren Sanchez, that's Jeff Bezos's Beyonce,
and they are getting close. But don't worry, Gail is
not dumping Oprah. Their friendship have been through so much
that eleven minute trip to space as amazing as that
(02:33):
might be, it really is amazing. It's not going to
end or delay or change that friendship. Nobody can come
in there. These two are best friends forever thought. I
thought it was lovely to watch Oprah crying and just
being there, to go to Texas to support your friend,
to get up early in the morning to watch this
rocket just lovely.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
What do you think, Well, first of all, anyone who
knows anything about best friends, they're not just friends, they're families.
Worry about them. My best friend, one of my best friends,
Maureen Martin, I worry about her like a sister. She
is a sister to me, So I totally understand why
Oprah was reacting in this way. It's totally normal. But
(03:15):
again you have to understand that would These women have
pretty much done everything in the past seventy years of
their lives, so going into space is probably something they
never dreamed of and had to do. And that's why
she was there supporting her sister, just like I would
have done. Yes, And what's great about a friendship is
(03:35):
that you can allow other people and you're not afraid
of your friendship cracking.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Most important thing, Yeah, don't be frightened of it. So
when Gail landed, Oprah whisked her away and through her
a defying gravity party. They had a party of champagne
and eggs and pancakes. Welcome, welcome back. It's just so beautiful. However,
let's be really honest about this story. Today. Now there's
(04:01):
a backlash and people are criticizing this flight. Celebrities are saying,
Amy Schumer, lots of celebrities are saying, what was the
whole point of this? It costs billions of dollars to
go to space, and they said that it was sort
of mocking astronauts and science astronauts have trained for decades
to go to space. These ladies put on a fabulous
(04:23):
jumpsuit and they did do a couple of days of training,
but it's not quite the same. So they're calling this
tourism for billionaires. I think they have a point, Mistery,
I'm afraid I do.
Speaker 2 (04:36):
Well. Gil obviously heard what was going on, and she
tried to make the point of this isn't an either war,
but this is both. You know, space is the new frontier,
and yes it's very expensive. As anything that's new starts,
it always starts with the rich and powerful, and then
there are ways that it comes down. The timing might
have felt off with what's going on in our nation
(04:58):
or how you feel about it. But again, we need
to stand up for women's voices as they're being erased.
So if you look at it that way, you can
take either side. It's an experience of a lifetime. I'm
not sure if somebody offered me the opportunity to go
to space that I would say no, even if I
felt there are more important things in the world, because
(05:19):
it's something that you would not get to do, at
least at this point of my life. Yeah, I think
I'd be like, hey, let me added to the repertoire. Yeah,
we added to the bucket list. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
You said earlier that these people experience everything. They go
to the oscars, they get to the best restaurants, they
can do wherever they want, They can travel anywhere. But
this is really special, even for people like Gail and Oprah.
I think what I have to remind myself too is
a lot of times stuff that I don't understand looks
like a waste of money. If it wasn't for space
(05:52):
exploration and scientists and astronauts, our cell phones wouldn't work
like this is something it's just the tip of the ice.
This is the glamorous part of it, but really there
is a much more deep scientific advantages here. We know,
Misty that the world now runs on satellites, and we
(06:12):
all of our phones and we like our TVs and
we like them. So all of this comes from billionaires,
from governments really investing in space. I get the optics
look a little odd. These celebrities, these rich people just
going on a joy ride. It felt like they were
on a roller coaster at the amusement park. And so
that felt a little wasteful to me. But you've got
(06:35):
to remember behind these these what six seven people who
went to space, there is hundreds of thousands who have
developed that rocket scientifs that have devoted their lives to
this education. And one of the things I liked too
is I was watching CBS Morning Show. I don't watch
Gayale's show that often, but I did watch it because
obviously they were really throwing a lot of resources behind
(06:58):
Gael and they had a female astro on the set
and one of the anchor said, this is a big
step for man kind. Oh yeah, the astronaut said, this
is a big step for human kind. That's important for me.
Just that correction, and I'm going to correct myself now.
(07:18):
That was worth all Jeff Bezos' money. Let's face it,
He's got it, which brings us to our pole question
of the day. Oprah was more terrified than Gail when
she shot into space. Would you be terrified if one
of your friends wanted to go to space? Mister? If
you called me and said, Hey, Rob on Thursday, I'm
going to go to space, do you want to come?
(07:38):
And I'd be like, all my goodness. Sometimes I think
it's actually more scary for the person watching than the
person doing. I know, like when you play sports when
you're little. My mom and dad were so nervous at
every football game, every tennis match, and I didn't really
care because I was right in the middle of the action,
or even a school play my mom and dad would
see in the audience. I didn't really cares about the
(08:02):
stage ship. Would you be scared for your friends? Hey,
g a vote on it Twitter page at Naughty Nice
Rob at Facebook pages Naughty Gossip Amby. Sure to check
back tomorrow to hear your results. Hey, miss Steve, what
are you working on well?
Speaker 2 (08:16):
Bravo is in crisis mode after Real Housewives of Beverly
Hills alum Taylor Armstrong has come forward with harrowing new
claims that she was abused by her late husband, Russell Armstrong,
including one alleged incident where he broke her face with
a punch. Now, Bravo insiders are scrambling to explain how
(08:37):
such abuse could have gone on unnoticed. I mean, they
have hundreds of hours of raw footage that we never
see on screen following these women on these series around,
So how did you not see it? I will take
a caveat and say that a lot of times when
it comes to abuse, it's not done in front of people,
and that's why it continues. But they said, we are
(08:58):
completely unaware of the extent of what's going on. This
is what's being said to sources behind the scenes. Had
we known and seen anything like this, we would have
stopped it. Now, according to production sources, there's nothing in
the footage that would support this. But there was always
kind of a dark attension between Russell and Taylor that
was kind of felt, but you didn't really know why.
(09:21):
And they made a point they said, look, if it
had been on screen. If we had actually videotaped it,
it would have been used because Bravo uses drama.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
But this is so it's sad.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
It's sad that now she's coming forward and has to
tell her truth and couldn't say it to people. There
was whispers and mentions on the show to different cast
members that kind of played out, but nobody really dug
deep to find out. And Rob, I know you know
a lot about the Real Housewives, what do you have
to say?
Speaker 1 (09:52):
This is really really alarming. We've been saying this about
this show for a long time, Misday. It's a really
problematic show. And what we really enjoyed watching we thought
was entertainment, were their real lives. So a lot of
these people were not turning it on for the cameras.
All this drama, all this dysfunction, It really existed in
(10:13):
their lives. And I think we've got to figure out
a way to have people on reality TV that are
not train wrecks, because ultimately this is something that's going
to bite us all in the bottom. These people are
very complicated. We've met a lot of them, Misty, and
I hope that it's not as dramatic as this. I'm sure,
it's not, but it is dramatic. These are more than
(10:34):
not are really problematic. You think it would be great
fun to hang out with them, and it never really is.
I've never really left a Housewife party and said, oh
my goodness, I want to do that again. I've always
sort of creeped home, almost in shame, thinking, oh God,
I feel like I just exploited them, or they exploited
me more likely, And so Housewives and brather it's a
(10:56):
difficult it's a difficult line. If I was the president
of if I worked at Bravo, I want to get ratings.
Drama train recks are really good TV, but I also
do want to be a good human being, and I'm
not sure if this is. It sort of turned me
off watching I don't really watch them anymore. Mystique so
I always feel dirty afterwards. I don't know if I've changed,
or the society's changed, the rules have changed. But what
(11:18):
was funny ten years ago just isn't quite it's funny
to me now. And watching people plastered, literally drinking and
drinking and drinking to the point where they're falling over,
I don't think it's funny.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
It's like any reality show. When it's in its early
years and it's kind of pure and raw, you can
kind of watch it. But as it grows and tries
to keep upping itself, people start doing things that are
for the camera, and so it doesn't feel authentic anymore,
and it does feel like you're watching people try to
be up train wreck so they can get the ratings,
(11:52):
they can keep the businesses they've built. And we've seen
how many relationships have been destroyed on the Real Housewives,
So people are like, I'm not an actress. I want
to be in front of the camera. This is an
opportunity to get me there, but are you willing to
pay the price. And I wish that Taylor could have
set my husband puts hands on me, And I would
(12:14):
have loved to see all those women show up and
be like, ah.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
I believe the brother didn't know, and not because I'm
giving them the benefit of the diety. If they knew,
I think it would have been a storyline. I think
that they would have added this into the show. They don't.
They don't really take a lot at mysty.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Yeah, but you know what, maybe that would have been great.
Think about it if her friends had have encouraged her,
you need to get out of this marriage. You need
to go to count. It will help you. So it
could have been a lesson for women who are not
in front of the TV, who are experiencing abuse to
say I need to get out. So it sounds like
it'd be cringed, but we just think Bravo could have
(12:51):
been like, we are dealing with a very serious subject
and that's why this show is important.
Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah, a teachable moment.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Absolutely, You're right.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Okay, Moving along. Tyra Banks, who's co host in the
Today Show this week with Jenna Is, saying that she
thinks Taylor Swift should remake Whitney Houston's The Bodyguard. Well,
this actually might be happening. Sam Wrench, who directed Taylor's
two hundred and fifty million grossing air as to a film,
did you see that film? It was great? He directed
(13:21):
that he's been tapped now to direct The Bodyguards. They
get to do a reboot of the Bodyguard. Tyra suggested
switching the racial dynamic and making the lead lady now
Taylor Swift, white, and maybe the bodyguard Idris elber Is,
who she recommends that would be really, really hot. So
although Tyra was just speculating, just saying what she wants,
(13:42):
and I'm hearing from insiders that this actually could happen.
Hollywood loves a remake. No one's hotter than Taylor Swift
at the moment, maybe Beyonce, maybe Taylor Swift. But I
think that there's something to this. I'd love to watch that.
I love The Bodyguard.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
I am a big fan of the Bodyguard too, so
I've been in the group chat and first of all,
people are not happy that they're going to remake this movie.
They feel it's a they feel it's a classic witness
and Mays raced in peace. We do not need to
bring this up, but Sam, give me a call because
I got an idea for you. Okay, First of all,
instead of a remake, why don't we do kind of
(14:22):
a continuation, like a secret love child we didn't know about,
and then we can kind of keep a black actress
in that ye maybe their their daughter, and then you know,
find some guys. So I'm just thinking outside the box. Yes,
Taylor Swift would probably do a fantastic job, and we
know that would make a lot of money. But I
(14:42):
think there's something pure and beautiful about the first movie.
We don't want to lose. That's just me.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Be just right. Okay, We're going to take a quick
break and we will be right back. Welcome back to
the Naughty That naisham your haste ramp shooter. Hey, let's
get to the polls. DA. Last show, we talked about
a Bravo producer who worked with us on The Gossip Table,
our morning show. Patrick McDonald is claiming that the Real
Housewives are punished when they get sober. So after working
(15:13):
on our show, Patrick went on to work for the
Real Housewives. He's since been let go because he started
an only fans very X rated web page. I think
it's called a web page group. I don't know what.
It's called subscription that's what it is. It's a subscription
based service, so you pay money get to see very
very racy pictures. Bravo doesn't appear to be very happy
about that. So what sort of push to Patrick to
(15:34):
one side is what he is saying. However, now that
this has happened, he's free to tell all that he's
telling all Bravo's secrets, and he said he worked on
the Real Housewives several different seasons and every time one
of the ladies tried to get help, try to improve
their lives, try to get sober, their role was diminished
on the show. You were not rewarded for being healthy.
(15:55):
Is he right? Do you agree? Let's have a look
where seventy six percent said yes, we've noticed this too.
It's the train wrecks that get all the airtime, and
the people that try to better themselves try to stop drinking,
they become friends of housewives and slowly disappear from the show.
I agree, Hey, don't forget to vote on today's Paul.
Go to our Twitter page at Naughty Nice Rob at
(16:16):
facebook page is Naughty Gossip and be sure to check
back to mother to hear your results. And now it's
time for and Noises of the day.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
Nicest of the day is Katie Barry because she took
her daughter to Space. Well figure it tive so she
actually on the Blue Origin had a daisy and it
was a hard fulpt me to her daughter, Daisy Dove
Bloom now back on earth. Little Daisy she's just four
years old, had a little mini crew uniform and she
was cheering mama. And so Katie said, this experience is
(16:53):
second only to being a mom that's all my love
right there. And I had to just surrender trust the universe,
model courage and fearlessness for her. And we know Orlando
Bloom was there because Oprah was hanging on to him, going,
oh girl, be safe. So she it really was a
family affair. And you know again we said, this is
(17:15):
about maybe a little girl like Daisy or other little girls,
and I know it's Katie Perry, but just seeing an
idol of yours go up to snee, there might be
a little girl now who grows up to be an
asp and discovers the next spase, whatever it is that
we need in this world. I love it.
Speaker 1 (17:32):
I love it, and I says the day now, I
know it's the dayty naughty, naughty, it's Prince Andrew. So
Prince Andrew is the Duke of York. York is a
beautiful place in Britain. It's a town, it's an area.
Now seventy percent of the locals want him to lose
the title, saying it's a disgrace, it's embarrassing to people
that live in York. We shouldn't be celebrating him in
York in any shape or form. One resident he's really
(17:55):
angry about if you remember, he had that terrible friendship
with convicted p defive old Jeffrey Epstein, and he went
on to settle an abuse claim for reportedly twelve million
pounds without without admitting any guilt. At the time, Queen Elizabeth,
his mommy stripped him of his royal highness status, his
military titles, and so he still kept though his title
(18:19):
the Duke of York. I gotta admit. If I lived
in York, mister, I'm not sure I'd want him to
be my duke. I'm told the King is listening, and
what is the day. Let's end with a moment of rob.
You gotta rob, you get a rob, you get a rub.
Your doubts create mountains, your actions move them. So every
time your second guess, yourself, overthink or fear about taking
(18:42):
the lead, all you're doing is piling rocks onto this
mountain in front of you. The truth is that mountain
you might have built it. And if you can build it, though,
you can move it. You don't need to figure it
all out at once. You just need to take a
little action, because small steps, mister, they clear the way
that mountain in front of you can be moved by
(19:03):
your actions. Hey, that is it for today. Thank you
so much for listening to the Naughty but Nice with
Rub and Miss d Show, a production of iHeartRadio and
Elvis Duran. Don't Forget. Don't forget to subscribe, and you
can do that by going to your iHeart app, Apple
podcasts wherever you listen, leave us a review if you can.
(19:25):
They really do help. And remember all together now if
you're going.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
On to be.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Nice, take care everybody. It's starting but nice with Rah
