Speaker 1 (00:09):
Ye know.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Hello, welcome to the Naughty but Nicer I'm your house
to Rob Shooter and it's Friday. We made it to
the end of another week. I hope you had a
good one, Naughties, And if you didn't, don't worry, because
that's about to change because our dear friend Corey Andrew
is joining Gus. Hey Corey, are you there?
Speaker 1 (00:30):
I am here.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Happy Friday, everyone, Happy Friday. It's a miracle. We're to
get this today. Cory. A few little technical issue.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
This was like I Love Lucy episode this morning. It
was like the Chocolate episode.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
It was nuts. I'm so proud of the two of
us there. You were always more technologically advanced than my
good self, but now I've learned how to do it too.
I'm so pleased that we know how to do all this.
Can you remember when we started all those years ago,
I didn't even know what zoom?
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Well, I know it's been tricky, So hopefully with all
the technical difficulties, we've learned enough to pull the show
off today.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Fingers pulled it off, pulled it off with a little
bit of glue and spit today, But nevertheless, we have
pulled it off. I think let's not jinx it. Let's
jump in. What time is it? My friends? It is
tea time big story at the top of the show.
So Tom Hanks's daughter, her name is Ea Hanks, has
written a heartbreaking book about her life. It's a memoir.
(01:29):
But let's be honest here. The reason this book is
getting all the attention and potentially a big publisher is
that EA's dad is Tom Hanks. Now she talks about
her parents' eruly divorce and describes growing up in a
really dysfunctional family. I got to be clear here. I
read the book and Tom is not a villain, but
(01:51):
he's also not a hero. Sources tell me the book
does not want to attack Tom, but it does want
to show the honesty and how messy there's years were.
This was before he was famous. They were struggling, there
wasn't enough money. Tom is saddened by the book. Friends
told me that he is not denying a word of it.
(02:11):
He's not calling his daughter a liar, but he just
wishes that she hadn't put this out in the world.
He loves his daughter, but this one is quote a
hard one to swallow. I was thinking about this and
writing a book about your family. If somebody in my
family became that famous, and if I wrote a book
(02:32):
and I included them, is that fair? It's still my story,
So I guess you can tell your own story here.
But it's so complicated. We spoke about it recently with
Prince Harry's book, That's Harry's story. I believe every word
of it, at least through his eyes. The other royals
would probably disagree. But this one makes me just a
little bit sad. I don't think it hurts Tom. I
(02:53):
think people are still going to love Tom Hanks, but
starting out he struggled like everybody else.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
But you have the wonder too, like, is it an
exploitive sort of reason why she wrote it? Right? I mean,
she's got the right to tell her own story, of course,
but at the same time, she's probably got a good
payment for.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
She's making money from this. Clear she's making money.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
Yeah, So in that regard is probably like a reason
why she's definitely doing it because there's money involved.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
So I don't know if it's really so innocent.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
But Rob, you know, people, non famous people write memoirs
all the time, right, So it's not as if you know,
just because she's famous, she's not supposed to write one.
The publishing house are full of people telling their life stories,
about their families, about growing up. Why is this any different?
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Yeah? I could go either way on this one. Part
of me is like, let's be clear, she's getting all
this attention because dad's Tom Hanks. If she was Esther
from down the Road or living my Bill, we probably
wouldn't be talking about it on the show. I encourage
people to write books. I'm trying to do my second
book myself, and they really really hard to do. But
I think this one here told the truth. Tom's probably
(04:03):
not happy about it. We know he's not. So they
told the truth, and they did it with love. From
what I've read, it's not Mommy Dearest. This is not
a Jane for type tell or book. And I think
it's also good to remember that before he was Tom Hanks,
the Tom Hanks that we know and love. A lot
(04:24):
of people love him, he was a regular guy in Hollywood,
really trying hard to break into the movie business. He
fell in love very very young. They had a child.
I don't think he was really prepared to be a father,
and I think that this is such an interesting truth
about life. We often sugarcat things, don't we And I
know Madonna does this. Madonna does not really like to
(04:47):
talk about her past. She doesn't want to be remembered
from where she came from. Where I'm the opposite. I
think my success is so much greater because I came
from so little.
Speaker 1 (04:59):
Oh yeah, yeah, and you know. But it's funny about
Madonna because she used to actually really relish that story
in her own case. She loved to tell about how
she got to Times Square. She ate French fries out
of the McDonald's bag from the garbage cans that she
would find. I mean, that was part of the legend
of Madonna. Right now she's reimagined herself as merged from England.
(05:22):
But yeah, I mean, you're right. Embrace who you are
because that makes us who we are.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
You know, I totally there's a time when I ran
away from my past, my accent, where I was from
the working class town, and now I run towards it
is part of my story, and Tom is clearly part
of this story. It is being told, I think in
a graceful way, but it is tricky, which brings us
to our pole question of the day. Tom Hanks's daughter
(05:51):
has written a tell all book. It's a memoir. Some
people are saying it's brutal. I wouldn't go that far.
A question is will you buy it? Are you in
reading this story? Yes or no? Go votes on a
page at Naughty Nice Rob at facebook page is Naughty
Gilsip and Misure to check back a Monday. It's a
heart your results. Hey, Corey Love, what are you working on? Yes?
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Well, I think Kelly Clarkson needs to get out more.
I think that's what I'm working on. So Kelly Clarkson
had no idea, apparently that Meghan Marco has a Netflix show.
She was like, wait, she's the new Martha, Like, how
does she not?
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Like this was.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Podcasts exactly. She had Leshia know from us. But the
down to Earth star had a full on, like aha
moment on The Kelly Clarkson Show this week when guests
Brian Tyry Henry casually mentioned that Meghan has her lifestyle
series on Netflix, you know, with Love Meghan, and Kelly goes,
(06:47):
what is that? Like?
Speaker 2 (06:49):
She really didn't know?
Speaker 1 (06:50):
So she's you know, she's she's the Queen of reliability, right,
so yeah, she she took a beat and then she
declared I would love this show and it was TV gold.
A studios member tells, naughty but n but she had
no idea and her face said it all that she
really did not know, and one producer confirmed that the
conclusion was very real. That Kelly does not live online
the same way the celebrities do. She's not scrolling on Instagram.
(07:13):
I'm looking for like, you know, Dutchess updates, like we
are Meghan Markel News. You know, because you know how
her family is really important. We talk about her a
lot on the show and the family, so that's what
she's doing. So in her spare time, she's not looking
up Megan Markle News.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
You're not looking it up. I love it. Come on.
I find it so interesting because there's things that I
think are very very important, particularly musical theater. And I
am shocked when my friends don't know who are lame pages.
They don't know who Shirley Bassy is, or they don't
know who Liza Bdellie is. There are people out there
(07:47):
that just don't know stuff that you hold really really close.
It's so important to you, and it always shocks me
in a really lovely way, makes me giggle in the
same way. Sometimes I go for my friends and they're
talking about all these rappers. I have no idea, And
because I worked with Did all those years ago, people
think I know this world. I do not, And so
(08:11):
look around. Just because you know something, that doesn't mean
other people know it too. And I think part of
the success of this podcast is we straddle that line
very carefully, very well between informing everybody but not assuming
you know everything. But we don't want to over explain either.
I don't want to patronize. And so Meghan Markle's not
(08:31):
on Kelly's radar and I'm here for that. I wonder
if Kelly is on Megan's radar, I'd say, yes, Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
I think so, because there's a different like their paths
are so different, you know, like just Kelly's whole rise
to fame from a national television show. There's no way
that Megan would know her right in the reciprocle. But
I do wonder if this is a great opportunity for
Megan to come on Kelly's show and do a whole
cook like somebody needs.
Speaker 2 (09:00):
Already on the phone, Megan's probably calling that I know Megan,
Meghan knows a very successful television host. Good for her,
good for her? Okay, moving along, Zach Efron ghosted Adam Divine,
so they made a movie together. I love this movie.
It was a silly, silly movie. Mike and Dave need
(09:22):
wedding dates. That was the title of the movie. Well,
after the movie was over, Adam did not hear from
Zach for a long time. And then he said he
got a call out of nowhere. It'd been years, and
he tells me how much he misses me, and then
he adds, can I crash at your beach pace for
two weeks? And I'm like okay, And then crickets He
revealed this podcast. Now sources are telling me that this
(09:45):
is a horrible habit. Zach does this a lot. It's
not just with Adam. He gets nostalgic, he hits the phones,
and then he just dissert peers and it's as flaky
as they come. I find this so annoying with friends.
You know, I sort of accept it. You're not going
to change people, but being flaky is something that really
(10:05):
bugs me. Don't call, Like, don't call and make arrangements
and then cancel. Just don't call. Let's not make an
arrangement or.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
But in this case it seems very opportunistic. We want
to let's get together.
Speaker 2 (10:21):
He's very, very very cute. We tread carefully on Zach
because of his mental health issues. He's really really struggled here,
and I think this is like a red flag. If
you have a friend that's always ghosting, you, always disappear appearing.
It's got nothing to do with me. It's their secrets.
It's their secrets. They have stuff that they're not really
telling you about that they don't want you to know.
And I do believe in their heart they really miss
(10:44):
you and that's why they reach out. They just can't
go that next step though. It's like when people ask
you for drinks or lunch and they never really follow up.
Quite often, I'm grateful. I don't really want to go either,
but don't ask. I never ask. If I don't want
to do it, I don't, And if I to ask,
in a moment of weakness, I go through with it. Yeah,
we've done with.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
You, and I rob it's more spontaneous, like you're just like,
you know, I'm going to Patino, do you want to come?
And I'm like, yeah, sure.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
I'm so mad when you left the city. I know,
I'm so mad, But next time you're in time we
must must mister okay, living along. We don't talk about
Gwyneth's daughter Apple very much. She's quite private, which is
why it's so amazing. She's just given her very first
interview to Interview magazine. What did she have to say? Yes, yes,
she has so her daughter Apple.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
She knows she she's kind of going down the footsteps,
if you will, of her family, and she says, I
was born a theater kid. Oh it was her speaking
of You just said a musical theater too, and you
were just mentioning that. But in her first ever interview
with Interview magazine, as you mentioned, Apple comes off and
she says, you know, she's really sort of self aware
(11:50):
of who she is.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
She comes from a theatrical family.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
She says, I've never done film before, she admits, but
I've been trying to get involved in student stuff. I
was born in a theater kid. Now, while she's currently
studying law and history and society at Vanderbilt University and
was also starring in a cabaret parody musical of Love Island. Yes,
she's singing her heart out in a group that she
(12:14):
lovingly calls the Boys and Apple thanks to her usually
low vocal range, which is sort of funny. And despite
that touch of humility, let's not forget, you know, this
is the most important thing. She literally she's almost like
a Barry Moore in a way. I mean, not that
level of going back, but a live dad or thank you.
Yes that's her grandmother and so yeah, So she's been
(12:34):
part of this Hollywood community for a while as an observer.
And now she says, you know, she once dreamed of
being a lawyer just so she could act like el
so she can do her.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Own version of legally blonde.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
But she thought, if I'm a lawyer, I can perform
in court. Really insane, I know, But you know what,
she's not very far off with that rock because I
had thought about law as well at one point.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
But it's because you do get to be a bit
performative to Christine is a teacher and she loves to perform.
I love this. I'm a theater kit. There are lots
of kids that were too cool for theater, that were
more movie type kids or music kids. And when I
say music like heavy metal and grungy stuff not my
(13:16):
type of music. I was always really proud to be
a theater kid. I love the theater department. I loved
how nerdy we all were. I loved it was likely Apple.
Welcome to the club. Okay, quickly before we get to break.
I like this story because it's such an ugly story
that has turned out okay. So Kim is Russian Gulf
(13:37):
Kim Kardashian all of Kanye's explosive statements, and she's thrown
herself back into work and family. So sources tell me
she is working really, really hard on her next Hulu project.
Kim is becoming this real power house producer. She's got
several things in the work. She is involved in Ryan
Murphy's legal drama, She's co producing a Netflix series, and
(14:00):
she's also too starring in her own flagship show Keeping
Up with the Kardashians, because she's really busy doing that,
and she's trying not to pay any attention to this fool.
Just a few days ago, he released a swastika as
a cover of his album like He's not go and
go away, and she can't totally get away from him
because of the kids. But I think Kim is doing
(14:22):
the right thing here. Which is focusing on her family,
on her work and letting all that nonsense just pushing
it to one side. Hey, Kim, you almost sound like
the nicest of the day. We will have that and
official miss of the day when we come back after
this quick break. Welcome back to the naughty but Nice
show your Rob Shooter with her diar friend Cory Andrew. Hey, Corey,
(14:43):
let's get to the polls. So last year we talked
about make a mockl clapping back at critics, saying I
need to work. She needs the money. She's being honest
about it. She said, I'm not doing this for vanity.
A lot of people are like vanity projects. She's like,
maybe I enjoy doing all this, but I do need
to work. That question was quite simple. Are we all
just being too harsh on their game? She's had there
(15:06):
trying to make a live in. That's a good thing,
isn't it. Would we rather have been Paris Hilton and
make money from her family? Would we rather have been
a trustful baby? When she was accepting money from the
royal family and the British taxpayer, we loved her, and
now she's making her own Monday, we hate it. That
was sort of upset about it. It all thinks are
we being too harsh? Eighty three percent said yes, and
(15:26):
you put it like that. Let her make her money.
Good luck to you, hey, don't forget to vote on
today's pole. Go to our Twitter page I had naughty

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Day from down under.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Mate.
Speaker 1 (15:46):
Yes, Robert Irwin, as you all may know, as the
son of Steve Irwin who was the really honky Australian
outback guy. So Robert Irwin has now stripped to his
briefs to break free of his dad's He says, I'm
done being the kid with the Koala Mike. So, the
twenty one year old Wildlife Warriors, son of the late
beloved Steve as I mentioned, has officially debuted his boldest
(16:09):
move yet, which is stripping down to his briefs for
a sizling New Bonds underwear campaign. Googling more of those
pictures done today, But he's done being the kid who
lost his dad. One inside her whispers too naughty but nice.
Now this is Robert stepping onto his own even if
it means dropping his trouser, even if it means, you know,
dropping his trousers to do so. But not everyone, you know,
(16:31):
not everybody is thrilled. So some family members were against
the photo shoot.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
You know, spills a suit conservative family.
Speaker 1 (16:39):
Yeah, clashed with his clashes with the wholesome image which
has become almost like a family business because you have
the daughter.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
He's really become like.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
The dad's you know, main's inherited the right.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
And but Robert doesn't care. He's doing it for himself.
So he looks down under.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
He looks great. I've started a substack, so if you
look up rob Shooter and substack, you shall see the
pictures there. They are delicious and nicest, a little bit
of an candy of the day. And now I noticed
the day naughteen naughty just can be very shading Selena
Gomez's engagement. So Selena Game is really excited about being engaged,
posted a picture holding a ring and now just then
(17:19):
has posted a picture of Golam from Lord of the
Rings clutching onto a glowing ring. And it's really like,
we know what you're doing. And he wrote the following
girls on social media when they get engaged, and people
are saying to me, this is just so embarrassing and nasty.
Grow up. You've got a kid, you are married, It's
(17:39):
time to move on now. Other sources are mine are
saying he does this every time Selena shines, every time
she does well, he seems to slip up. He seems
to do something awful, which tells me he's not over her,
although she is over you. I noticed the day. Let's
end with a moment of rob. Rub get rob. Your
(18:01):
life experience is your superpower. You have something that nobody
else on this planet has, and that's your life experience.
Your story, your struggles, your wins, your losses, your perspective.
It all adds up to something really really powerful because
nobody else can bring that to the table, only you.
(18:22):
That's the power of you. So stop comparing yourself to
anybody else and stop trying to fit into somebody else's
version of success. Own your own story. That's where your
magic is. We were talking earlier about not running away
from your past. Embrace it. That is part of your story.
And when you own it, naughties, I promise you will
(18:45):
be successful. Hey, that is it for this week. Thank
you so much for listening to The Naughty but Nis
with Rob and Corey Shaware of production of Elvis Duran
and iHeartRadio. Don't forget to subscribe on the iHeartRadio app
Apple podcast. For ever you listen, leave us a review
if you can. They really do help and remember all
(19:05):
together now let me hear you singing along. If you're
going to be moaning to you gotta take care of everybody.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
It's not even nice with Rom
