Marty Turco still loves his Stars: Oilers PK struggles, Panthers keep roaring and Mickey 17.

Jason Demers and Adnan Virk were both shocked by the Dallas Stars' Game 1 comeback, but not so surprised by the Florida Panthers' dominant series-opening performance. Speaking of Dallas, Marty Turco joined the guys to talk about his beloved Stars, backing up Ed Belfour and his connection to the legendary "Michigan" goal. Finally, Adnan reviews Bong Joon Ho's latest film, Mickey 17.

And you know, honestly, you look at those goals, you know,

the Mikael Granlin goal, which that was his patented look
away top shell shot over the glove with the screen,
which I have seen firsthand when he was with the Sharks,
and it's something that he's done and kind of trademarked
for himself. He does it so well and that's his
bread and butter. He puts that one in. But then
obviously coming into the third period, Miro hayeskin and with

just a shy he just gets it by the first layer.
There's traffic in front, marchments in front, and it just
has eyes to it, so you know, it's more of
a Edmonton just took their foot off the gas and
they took some bad penalties in the third period at
the wrong times. And man, this series, when one team
has momentum, it just feels like the other team can't
even take a breath or sucking dirty pond water and

it just switches on a dime. I mean, this team.
I the fact that Edmonton was so firmly in control,
like I was at the end of the two. At
the end of two, I almost turned it off and
and said this is it. Let's do the podcast now,
because I was like it's over, and I said, you
know what, let's wait they get a power play. I
want to see how this this period starts and boiled. Boy,

did they have their foot on the gas. And you know,
I think the biggest issue for Edmonton is, you know,
you look at the stats, sixty eight percent of teams
that win the first game of the play any playoff
series in the NHL wins the series. So the odds
in that game, it's such an important game, Game one,
you just want to start on the right foot, especially

at home. And I think Dallas did that, you know,
and they didn't even play their best hockey. They played
twenty good minutes and that seems like it's something that
typically Edmonton does. But kudos to Dallas, man what a game.
Way to wrestle it back and their depth woke up
Matt Tewshane scoring Tyler second, having two Sam Steele that
you know, makes that great move that leads to the

Tyler second second goal. I think it's that depth for
Dallas wakes up where they've kind of been nowhere to
be seen. It's going to be a tough series for Edmonton.

think every game he's going to get more comfortable. And

just stops the transition with his skating and creating turnovers

with his stick and defensively so sound, I mean, and
that third, that little five six minute stretch he must
have broke up about six to seven places to the
neurra lone just started the transition and started the rush
for the Dallas Stars. And he's just such an important piece.
He chips in offensively and it's crazy. We talked to
Billy Jaffe today in the network and they were talking

about going twelve and six versus eleven and seven, and
basically the reasoning why was Pete de bores, Like, we
know he can play twenty five minutes, but we're just
kind of thinking, well, what if this goes in the
triple overtime and he has to play forty five fifty minutes?
Is he capable of shouldering that load? And I went,
I'm sitting there going to be that good in that

effortless that they're like not even We're like, yeah, he
can play twenty five minutes, thirty minutes, like, but forty five,
we just got to make sure you can play forty five.
I'm like, are you kidding me? Because it's just like
that's like how that's just what he does and how
good he is and how I mean, the guy has
zero heartbeat, like it's just he does not break a
sweat out there and is skating faster than anybody. So yeah,

he's huge for this team and big bit. Like I said,
big big win for this team when they did not
play their best game.

They went zero for fourteen in the power play, losing
the West Final in six games, and get two short
handed goals in the process. They also failed to convert
the man advantage only seven and a half minutes into
this game. They quickly turned that around in that third period,
first time ever, by the way in their franchis, they
scored five goals in the third.

Period in a playoff game. Stuart Skinner, you and I
agreed because you'd lost his starting job. Pickard came in
and got hurt.

Then Skinner came back stopped twenty two or twenty seven
in this game after closing out the Golden Knights with
consecutive shutouts. I don't want to say it's a must
win for Edmonton because we've proven them before. They can
go down to Old, win two games at home and
get this thing back. But goltending Wise, would you stick
with Stuart Skinner, where'd you go to Pickard?

Well, Pickard's not on that trip right now, and I
don't think you traveled with the team, But I you
can't right now. I just don't think. You know, it's
kind of what they did last year. You just have
to ride it out. I don't think this was on him.
You know, I've been hard on Skinner. He does not
much he could have done on any of these goals.

You know, even the last one, the Tyler second won
was like a backhand that seconds stick was by the
crossbar and it just hits off his stick, like there's
not You're just kind of in trouble. And the other
ones are perfect shots. I think he needs to be better.
He needs to make those saves that don't seem like
he should make him. You know, that's kind of the difference.
But uh, it just was an onslaught and I feel

like they all fell asleep. I mean, the biggest issue
we saw is I tweeted out, and if we clip
this and they show my tweet, I tweeted out, like
in the second period, I was like, screw it Edmondonas
don't need matiast home, they're winning the Cup. And then six' three.
Later and the biggest thing THAT i saw tonight with
their penalty kill and looking for their penalty. Kills they

Need matiast come back if they want to win this,
series and not just this series but The cup because
he's such an integral piece on the penalty. Kill SO
i think it showed a lot. Tonight i'm, still you,
know bullish on this is probably gonna go seven AND
i can't see this going less than. THAT i Think

connor And leon had fantastic games. Tonight they just couldn't
close Out dallas and just too many. Penalties and when
you take too many, Penalties connor And lee and aren't
going to be on the. Ice they're going to be you,
Know connor gets a little bit of penalty kill at
the end with the last twenty, seconds but that's two
minutes where whether you score or, not those two guys
aren't on the, ice aren't impacting the.

went from like whatever forty degrees to like ninety. Five
it just became more, nimble more, athletic and that just
changed the. Game and you, know we would tell our

own a girls volleyball. League we do a lot of

to do is continue to grow the game of, hockey
but also get into the deep roots of things that
really can change a fabric of the future Of texas
And North texas.

Education and one of the proud of things that we
did when we got The Winter classic here at The Cotton,

and In South, dallas every kid that went there k
through six every kid and they stopped school then went
